This is the most recent data from the CDC. The CDC cautions that it should not be used to compare doctors and clinics. This data represents the outcomes of IVF cycles when using a person's own eggs.
For more information please see our FAQs.
Where you see a “?” on the chart, a clinic has done fewer than 20 cycles in this category and age range, so the CDC says showing percentages from this small data set would be misleading and unreliable.
Dr Pinto was pretty matter-of-a-fact after her disappointing egg retrieval which was tough as it was a difficult time for us. Fortunately though it all worked out with just that one round of egg retrieval. Dr Pinto was very involved with our transfer and care afterwards. When we had questions on why a certain thing was done, he answered them...e’d only transfer one embryo at a time.
It’s [Repromed Fertility Center] a nice, small clinic with parking. Sometimes getting through by phone is difficult and there was one time where they had told me the wrong day for a procedure. When talking to them in person they’re helpful and one of the people at the front desk was exceptional ally helpful in getting my records to my OB when I was ready to transfer care...a few of my appointments with Dr Pinto started late. My first one started 1-2 hours late. Keep that in mind when scheduling....
How was your experience with Anil Pinto at Repromed Fertility Center?
Dr Pinto knows what he’s doing and is dedicated to his work. We were going through IVF during the snowpocalypse of 2021. We were supposed to have a pregnancy test and blood draw in the middle of the storm. The whole city was closed, but Dr Pinto was at his single handedly running it. He was the front desk staff, the technician, and the doctor that day.
My wife and I both were under the care of Dr Pinto. He found I had blocked tubes that meant I needed them surgically removed. With that IVF became our only route to get pregnant. My wife and I both had full work ups and her ovarian reserve was much better than mine so we decided to retrieve her eggs, fertilize with donor sperm, and transfer to me. She had fewer eggs retrieved than expected (6), but incredibly 5 of those fertilized and were genetically normal! Dr Pinto was pretty matter-of-a-fact after her disappointing egg retrieval which was tough as it was a difficult time for us. Fortunately though it all worked out with just that one round of egg retrieval. Dr Pinto was very involved with our transfer and care afterwards. When we had questions on why a certain thing was done, he answered them. The part that could be frustrating at times was that most of the time questions were first filtered through the nurses and there wasn’t always a direct line of communication with him.
Dr Pinto can be a little on the quirky side, pretty direct, and is incredibly knowledgeable.
What's one piece of advice would you give a prospective patient of Anil Pinto at Repromed Fertility Center?
Ask questions directly to Dr Pinto when you meet with him. Also a few of my appointments with Dr Pinto started late. My first one started 1-2 hours late. Keep that in mind when scheduling.
During treatment, were you treated like a number or a human with Anil Pinto at Repromed Fertility Center?
Dr Pinto and the clinic were up on what we were going through and where we were in our process.
Describe the protocols Anil Pinto used in your cycles at Repromed Fertility Center and their degree of success.
Dr Pinto did a work up where it was found my Fallopian tubes were blocked and needed removed. I was referred back to my OBGYN for that and 3 months after the surgery I was able to get started on the path to a transfer. In the meantime my wife was getting her eggs retrieved. I do not remember the meds we used, but I do remember it included birth control for a period of time for both of us.
Describe your experience with the nursing staff at Repromed Fertility Center.
There were a couple of nurses who were very involved. At times we felt they were not answering our questions to the extent we wanted or giving enough info. Eventually we talked about that and it was helped by us asking lots of questions. There was also a bit of an issue when the timeline that Dr Pinto gave us wasn’t lining up with what the nurses gave us. Dr Pinto had said we could expect to do a transfer by Christmas but due to a combination of things (the timing of my cycle, Dr Pinto’s schedule being full, and the holidays) we had to do an extra month of birth control and weren’t able to do a transfer for another month or so. At the time that was very upsetting and we had considered changing clinics but are glad we stuck with Dr Pinto’s clinic.

I believe the grand total for one round of egg retrieval and one transfer was $27,000
Describe Anil Pinto's approach to eSET (elective single embryo transfer) vs. multiple embryo transfer at Repromed Fertility Center.
Dr Pinto told us he’d only transfer one embryo at a time. We didn’t ask the rationale for this as we weren’t interested in transferring more than one.
I appreciate his [Dr. Anil Pinto] straight forward manner and candor. He doesn’t sugar coat things and is up front with risks and benefits. He can be rushed at times, but always slows down if I have questions or am confused. He can be sarcastic and teasing with his staff, which I enjoy but not everyone would. When treatments have not yielded the results we wanted he has not hesitated to adjust my protocol.
Everyone tends to move quickly [at Repromed Fertility Center], so be prepared. You will see primarily the nurses for monitoring and IUIs, but I still routinely see the doctor. They will have appointments on Saturdays if needed...I’ve been very pleased with all the nursing staff. They have been responsive whenever I call, compassionate and easy to work with.

Be willing to ask questions and expect him to be straightforward.
During treatment, were you treated like a number or a human with Anil Pinto at Repromed Fertility Center?
Fast response by the office staff when I had any questions. He personally called me after failed treatments and cancelled cycles to discuss next steps and check in, even though I did not ask him to call. The office staff are friendly and learn who you are quickly.
Describe the protocols Anil Pinto used in your cycles at Repromed Fertility Center and their degree of success.
Had a hysterectomy to remove polyp before doing any cycles.
We did one round of letrozole with a trigger shot. It was the first cycle with the clinic and we wanted to see how
I responded to the meds.
Did one round of letrozole and trigger shot with IUI.
3 rounds of IUI with Gonal-f, letrozole and trigger shot. Dosages were adjusted within every cycle based on response. After 3 tries felt continuing was an exercise in finishing returns.
Had an egg retrieval that resulted in only one ovary responding (meds were menopur, Gonal-F, cetrotide and a trigger shot). After PGS we only had one embryo. Dr. Pinto strongly recommended a second retrieval before attempting a transfer.
2nd retrieval he added Clomid to my protocol and we had much better response. After PGS we have two more embryos.
Due to my age and the small number of embryos he strongly recommended an ERA.
Now prepping for transfer.

Describe your experience with Repromed Fertility Center.
Everyone tends to move quickly, so be prepared. You will see primarily the nurses for monitoring and IUIs, but I still routinely see the doctor. They will have appointments on Saturdays if needed. Because they have multiple locations I have been able to get in and see Pinto when needed (based on cycle day) even if I needed to drive to another location.
Describe the costs associated with your care under Anil Pinto at Repromed Fertility Center.
I don’t recall specific breakdowns but in total we have spent roughly $45,000 (that includes medication costs, embryologist fees, surgery center fees, anesthesia, etc) for all of our treatments. The cost for IVF has been roughly $35,000 0f the $45,000 total.
Describe Anil Pinto's approach to eSET (elective single embryo transfer) vs. multiple embryo transfer at Repromed Fertility Center.
His rule of thumb is one embryo is tested genetically normal and two if PGS testing was not completed.

Describe the specific things that went wrong at Repromed Fertility Center.
No major issues. Some minor miscommunication between staff about next steps - all were resolved quickly when I asked for clarification. 2 instances of the pharmacy not getting my prescriptions, also both addressed within the hour.
In the 7 months I was treated there, I saw him [Dr. Anil Pinto] maybe 2-3 times. His bedside manner was lacking and I felt like he gave me the same treatment plan he gives to everyone. Everything is done through his nurses and he did not even reach out to me during/after my loss...Dr Pinto is really into supplements. I’m talking absurdly expensive vitamins
The [Repromed Fertility Center] clinic was fine. A little dated with decor but well kept. Staff was pleasant. Calls were typically returned same day. Wait times were long much of the time so be prepared. But visits were generally pretty quick once in the exam rooms. They do seem pretty IVF focused. They have a high patient volume and waiting room is kind of small so did not feel very private. Felt like a lot of patients for one doctor, and this was just one of his locations
How was your experience with Anil Pinto at Repromed Fertility Center?
Dr Pinto works at multiple locations and it feels like he’s hardly ever at the office. It feels like he is torn in a million directions with all the patients he has and I didn’t feel like he had time to really dig in to my case. His bedside manner is not great. He wasn’t really rude but I didn’t feel like he was invested in me as a patient at all. I felt like a number and only saw him a couple of times over the course of several months. You can tell he wants to do IVF and was kind of pushing me to go in that direction when I didn’t want to. Everything is done through the nurses. He was pretty thorough with testing though, which I appreciated
What's one piece of advice would you give a prospective patient of Anil Pinto at Repromed Fertility Center?
don’t expect much face time with your provider. The nurses are great but if you want a doctor that feels like they really know you and your history, go elsewhere

Dr Pinto is really into supplements. I’m talking absurdly expensive vitamins. I have mixed feelings on that. But otherwise he was pretty reasonable with treatment. I did 5 cycles of timed intercourse with letrozole and hcg trigger shot. This involved ultrasound monitoring each month. I felt like they were triggering me a little bit early. And one cycle was a bust because they started giving me estrogen pills which then stunted my follicle growth. The other cycles were fine. I also took baby aspiration and progesterone (orally) during the luteal phase. I conceived on the 3rd cycle but unfortunately had an early miscarriage. I tried a couple more cycles before he met with me and encouraged IVF for my RPL, which I declined. I moved a couple of months later and left the practice
Describe your experience with your nurse at Repromed Fertility Center.
My nurse was awesome. Super organized. Even hand wrote notes and schedules out for me so everything was crystal clear. She did all of my ultrasounds herself and had good energy. Was really down to earth and understanding, felt like a friend. I looked forward to my appointments with her.

Dr. Pinto ran all the tests necessary to diagnose infertility, and everything for my husband and I came back totally normal. So we set up another consultation to discuss the next steps, and he chalked it up to “sometimes it’s just unexplained.” He repeated the success rates for IUI and IVF again, and he wasn’t pushing IVF per se, he was just letting the statistics speak for themselves...After several tests and consultations, we decided not to pursue treatment with Dr. Pinto. We got a second opinion with another RE and had a much better connection with her.
I didn’t have a lot of interaction with the nurses [at Repromed Fertility Center], as I actually saw Dr. Pinto at all appts except my baseline sonogram! They were very friendly when I did interact with them though...We show up to our initial consultation with Dr. Pinto...and he hasn’t seen anything. Nothing in our file. The nurse on staff that day (Saturday) said she would look for them, but I tried so hard to inform him of all our test results BEFORE we met with him so we could have a very productive meeting, and they messed that up.

ReproMed has 5 locations, and 3 of them were close to work or home, so that was super convenient! Also, Dr. Pinto takes late appts (5:45pm) and told me he stays until he sees the last patient that needs to be seen.
Describe the costs associated with your care under Anil Pinto at Repromed Fertility Center.
Our insurance doesn’t offer fertility coverage, so everything was out of pocket. I paid my specialist visit copay every time I had an appt, even a 5 min baseline sonogram with a nurse. My HSG was about $275, and Sonohyst about $330. The meds they called in for our first IUI cycle came from a mail-order pharmacy and I felt the prices were very reasonable!

I worked with Jennifer in the Tyler office before our very first consultation, to make sure they had received my bloodwork from my OBGYN and my husband’s SA from his urologist. She confirmed they had everything ready. We show up to our initial consultation with Dr. Pinto...and he hasn’t seen anything. Nothing in our file. While [Dr. Anil Pinto] maybe extremely intelligent, I just did not feel like I was important as a patient to him. In a span of 1 year, I saw him 3 times. All the other times I spent with his nurses. It was difficult to connect with a doctor you rarely see during this extremely stressful time...We did several cycles of IUI. The first 3 was only assisted with Letrozole, however it wasn't successful in growing the follicles. The last 2 cycles gonal-f injections were introduced, but in very low dosages, producing in one (per cycle) mature follicle. None produced children.
The staff [at Repromed Fertility Center] was incredibly lovely. They were supportive, and caring and did most of my procedures...After our first consultation, it was decided by my husband, myself and Dr. Pinto that we would proceed with IUI. However, during our first cycle (getting sonograms) the nurse informed us that in our paperwork that we were going to proceed with IVF. Obviously there was serious miscommunication within the clinic, and that was our first cycle of any fertility treatment.

I rarely saw Pinto. His nurses did most of the work including the actual IUI procedures. I interacted with him, maybe 3 times during the year under his care. There were always a lot of people in the waiting room.

The clinic itself serves too many people at any given moment. The 2 main nurses must see all the patients, and Dr. Pinto was rarely at the clinic. Otherwise the clinic is great. Even though they see many patients and there is always a wait, it seems that they have a clear procedure on addressing everyone.
Describe the costs associated with your care under Anil Pinto at Repromed Fertility Center.
On average we spent about $1200 for a regular cycle of IUI including medications (multiple sonograms, letrozole, and trigger shot). When doing the more aggressive IUI cycle (sonograms, letrozole, hormone shots, trigger shot, IUI) it was closer to about $1800.

Dr. Pinto is completely committed to your care. He has a big personality and is quirky, but I find this endearing and genuine. He is extremely ethical in his work, and keeps costs as low as possible. He will call at 8pm if needed to give feedback about labs or next steps, and told me to call him with any questions.... When we discovered an unexpected issue right before a planned IVF cycle, he immediately fit me in for surgery three days later.

Dr. Pinto truly cares, and explains everything in detail, without sugar-coating, but also with heart. The clinic is busy but the staff is kind and gets to know you. My egg retrieval/freezing was four years ago, so unfortunately I don't remember the details for medications. I had one stimulation trial that had to be cancelled due to few eggs, but the second trial was very successful. I am about to start my first FET cycle.

My insurance covers labs, sonos, etc. For egg freezing (one cancelled cycle, one successful cycle), approximately $8K. For upcoming IVF (including my choice to do more expensive PGS), approximately $12-13K
Describe Anil Pinto's approach to eSET (elective single embryo transfer) vs. multiple embryo transfer at Repromed Fertility Center.
Dr. Pinto very clearly explained the latest research and suggested guidelines, and follows these, with minimizing multiple embryo transfer unless of advanced age or lower embryo quality/no PGS testing, etc.

Only one mistake through all the years of my involvement with the clinic. This involved needing additional outside imaging to confirm presence of a fibroid, and the initial order resulted in the wrong imaging. We communicated immediately, and corrected the error. I later learned from an ob/gyn friend that this was likely due to the imaging facility's new paperwork that was easily confused (apparently many clinics were discovering the issue around that time).
I really believe Dr. Pinto handled my anxiety better than any other provider (all OBGYNs) I'd ever worked with during my infertility journey. He even called me at nearly 8pm one evening to discuss the results of my blood work with me. I noticed that a previous reviewer stated that a nurse conducted all of her monitoring appointments. I received care in the Grapevine office, and Dr. Pinto conducted every single monitoring appointment himself. Needless to say, I saw Dr. Pinto a lot, and I believe he truly believe he cared about the outcome of my treatment.
Dr. Pinto treated me like a human. He thoughtfully reviewed my case history with me, and outlined treatment options...Not surprisingly, I had a bit of an issue with my insurance during treatment. At times, it was hard to get ahold of a human from Dr. Pinto's insurance department [at Repromed Fertility Center]. Lots of voicemails were left. However, in the end, Dr. Pinto's coordinators smoothed everything out with my insurance. For that, I am grateful.
How was your experience with Anil Pinto at Repromed Fertility Center?
Dr. Pinto has a big personality. Yet, I experienced him as a knowledgeable professional, so I welcomed his personality. It was nice to feel like I was working with a real person, and not just another staunch, detached medical professional. Perhaps most importantly, Dr. Pinto inspired a glimmer of hope during a very trying time in my life.
Treatment with Dr. Pinto was successful (on our first cycle), and I am currently 29 weeks pregnant.
What's one piece of advice would you give a prospective patient of Anil Pinto at Repromed Fertility Center?
Ask questions about your diagnoses/treatment plan! Infertility is complex, baffling and draining. By gaining a better understanding of my situation, and I regained some sense of control (and sanity).
During treatment, were you treated like a number or a human with Anil Pinto at Repromed Fertility Center?
Dr. Pinto treated me like a human. He thoughtfully reviewed my case history with me, and outlined treatment options. Each treatment option was supported by recent medical research. We began treatment with the least invasive option, and if it failed, we agreed would proceed to the next, more intense level of intervention. I appreciate his personalized approach to my treatment.
Due to my history of previous losses (RPL) I had a tremendous amount of anxiety surrounding my treatment and early pregnancy. I really believe Dr. Pinto handled my anxiety better than any other provider (all OBGYNs) I'd ever worked with during my infertility journey. He even called me at nearly 8pm one evening to discuss the results of my blood work with me.

We paid close to $1,000 out of pocket for medications, lab work, monitoring, diagnostic imaging for one cycle that resulted in my current pregnancy.
What specific things went wrong at Repromed Fertility Center?
I did not like Dr. Pinto's bedside manner and felt no personal connection to him....I did not receive detailed information from him which was very frustrating. I dreaded my appointments. I felt like just a number to him and no personal connection.... Birth control and Lupron before starting a cycle and then we moved to stimulation drugs. The IVF process at this clinic was very long and drawn out.
The doctors travel to so many clinics [Repromed Fertility Center] and you have to go to the one they are at that day.... I had appointment mixups all the time.... I showed up to the McKinney clinic once and it was locked. Do not go to this clinic, find a different one instead. There are much better choices in the DFW area.
During treatment, were you treated like a number or a human with Anil Pinto at Repromed Fertility Center?
I hated going to my appointments. I did not like Dr. Pinto's bedside manner and felt no personal connection to him. At the time I thought it was just because I was sad about even having to go to a fertility clinic however after I switched clinics I can say that it was 100% him and his clinic.

Birth control and Lupron before starting a cycle and then we moved to stimulation drugs. The IVF process at this clinic was very long and drawn out.
Describe your experience with the nursing staff at Repromed Fertility Center.
They did not give me adequate information at each appointment which left me with several questions later that evening. I felt like an annoyance every time I called to ask a question or inquired about something. I had to find out from the hospital that my egg retrieval time had changed, not a peep from the nurses. The wait time for a call back was forever. They were not accommodating at all.
Describe your experience with Repromed Fertility Center.
The wait time was FOREVER every time. You end up having to drive ALL over the DFW area for each appointment. The doctors travel to so many clinics and you have to go to the one they are at that day. This was very inconvenient for me since I was working while undergoing treatments. They were rarely friendly or compassionate. I had appointment mixups all the time.

I showed up to the McKinney clinic once and it was locked. I called the main line and was told that they forgot to change my appointment and was asked if I could instead drive to Dallas right then. They did not call me with my pregnancy test results...I had to call them five minutes before closing to ask. They were very difficult for my new clinic to work with and receive my files from.
Dr. Pinto took a lot of time to meet with me and my husband and explain our situation which I really appreciate... He also didn't check in with me to make sure I understood... At one point, he said that we were "old"...my husband was 32 and I was 34 so we really weren't that old in the infertility world!...I didn't feel like Dr. Pinto followed up with us appropriately after we received a difficult diagnosis on hysteroscopy. I felt like I had to hound him for an appointment and meeting. When we talked to him, I always felt like he had to be somewhere else and was doing us a "HUGE" favor by actually talking to us like people for 15 minutes.
The clinic [Repromed Fertility Center-Dallas] was convenient to where I lived at the time and the nurses were nice enough. Other than that, I don't recommend this clinic because I don't respect Dr. Pinto...Another specific thing I don't like about this clinic: They make you shave and/or trim your pubic hair for hysteroscopy... I found it demeaning...[Nursing Staff] all I remember is thinking that they were very nice and organized!... The only thing that I remember thinking was expensive was that the hysteroscopy was performed at an off-site out-patient facility that charges about $1,000 just for using the facility for several hours.
How was your experience with Anil Pinto at Repromed Fertility Center?
I went to Dr. Pinto for an infertility work-up. I had already been diagnosed with PCOS causing anovulation and had taken clomid 6 times, resulting in 2 miscarriages (a blighted ovum at 8 weeks and a chemical pregnancy) and was having a very light almost non-existent period each month. This had all been under the treatment of an ob/gyn in California where I was living before. After doing the infertility work up, Dr. Pinto said everything looked good except for my uterus which seemed to show a large polyp on a saline ultrasound. When I went in for the hysteroscopy, he diagnosed me with severe "Asherman's Syndrome" and tried to cut away the intrauterine scars. I did not talk to him for over a week after the procedure; he talked to my husband briefly right after the procedure and told himabout the Asherman's Syndrome diagnosis and then headed out on a vacation. I get that doctors need vacations (my husband is a doctor), but I thought it was really weird that he didn't schedule a time to talk to me about the diagnosis since it was a really big deal and I wanted to know more about the severity of the scarring since that matters for prognosis and I also wanted to know more about the post-op protocol. This was the beginning of things going downhill in our doctor-patient relationship. I felt like I had to hound Dr. Pinto for a meeting. When we finally met with him, he was really rude about the procedure and his vacation and answering my questions. I get that I am doing some shooting the messenger here. I probably would not have been happy with any doctor who told me that I had this diagnosis. But these are the moments when infertility patients need extra care and attention - when they are scared and don't know what's going to happen next! After taking estrogen for three weeks and then progesterone to induce a period, I had another saline ultrasound one month after the first hysteroscopy. Just based on the saline ultrasound, Dr. Pinto said my lining looked bad and there was nothing else he could do for us and that we needed a gestational carrier. My husband and I both felt like he did not seem to want us as patients anymore and was kind of "firing" us by saying we needed a gestational carrier. I was distraught. I now know for a fact that a saline ultrasound after one hysteroscopy is not the standard of care for Asherman's Syndrome patients. You cannot tell how the lining is without performing a repeat hysteroscopy and it's not true that there is nothing else to do at this point. This is when we left Dr. Pinto's practice and went to another fertility doctor in Dallas and also started going to our doctor in California for subsequent hysteroscopies. The California doctor did two more hysteroscopies and then said we could try to get pregnant. The California doctor did not know what Dr. Pinto saw on the initial hysteroscopy but he did not think it was severe Asherman's Syndrome and he also did not think you would be able to say there is nothing else to do after performing one hysteroscopy. Moreover, some doctors think that you can get better results if you place a balloon in the uterus after a hysteroscopy. This was not done, nor was I given the option for it, nor did I even consent to a hysterscopy for lysis of adhesions from Dr. Pinto. If I had been given the choice, I may not have even wanted him to be the doctor who initially cut away the scars.
What's one piece of advice would you give a prospective patient of Anil Pinto at Repromed Fertility Center?
I went to Dr. Pinto because he was convenient to where I lived at the time. Convenience matters when you think you will be doing a lot of monitoring. However, if you have an at all complicated case, I would go to a different doctor. I don't think Dr. Pinto had a good handle on the latest research relating to our situation. We would ask for evidence on things and he would just talk about his clinical experience. I'm sure if you got a good result with this doctor, you would like him because he was very personable. But seriously, stay away if your situation is complicated.
During treatment, were you treated like a number or a human with Anil Pinto at Repromed Fertility Center?
Dr. Pinto took a lot of time to meet with me and my husband and explain our situation which I really appreciate. However, one of the things that he did that I really did not like is that when he was talking to both of us he tended to make more eye contact with my husband than with me. He also didn't check in with me to make sure I understood. My husband is a doctor so that might have been part of what was going on in this situation. Regardless, it was not good doctoring for him to be doing this. He also made a number of comments that were off-putting. At one point, he said that we were "old" - maybe we were by Dallas standards - but at the time my husband was 32 and I was 34 so we really weren't that old in the infertility world!

I already explained this above.
Describe your experience with the nursing staff at Repromed Fertility Center.
I don't remember too much. All I remember is thinking that they were very nice and organized!
Describe your experience with Repromed Fertility Center.
The clinic was convenient to where I lived at the time and the nurses were nice enough. Other than that, I don't recommend this clinic because I don't respect Dr. Pinto (please see my discussion above for more on this).
Another specific thing I don't like about this clinic: They make you shave and/or trim your pubic hair for hysteroscopy. This is not standard practice and I found it demeaning. I've had 6 hysteroscopies and the only time I had to prep my pubic hair was for Dr. Pinto. Not sure what that's about.
I was reflecting on my experience at this clinic and wanted to write about two positive experiences I had: (1) I had partial ovarian torsion at one point during the one clomid cycle I did under Dr. Pinto's care and the doctor or nurse (can't remember!) on call took it really seriously and helped us figure out whether or not we needed to go to the emergency room. (2) I asked Dr. Pinto for a referral to a therapist and he gave me the name of someone I then went to for several months and she was FANTASTIC. Probably the best therapist I have ever been to. So I am grateful for those two things.
Describe the costs associated with your care under Anil Pinto at Repromed Fertility Center.
I don't remember paying anything for my care. I think an infertility work-up was covered by our insurance plus the hysteroscopy was a medical treatment that was also covered. The only thing that I remember thinking was expensive was that the hysteroscopy was performed at an off-site out-patient facility that charges about $1,000 just for using the facility for several hours. Other than that, surprisingly there were no bills. I always wonder if Dr. Pinto just wrote the whole thing off because he felt bad for us?!

I have no thoughts on this. We didn't get there with this doctor.

Describe the specific things that went wrong at Repromed Fertility Center.
I think I described the issues above. I didn't feel like Dr. Granted, we were a tough case and he did spend a lot of time with us (because I did a lot of hounding). Also, I think he was just wrong to tell me there was nothing left to be done about my case based on a saline ultrasound when the gold standard is a repeat hysteroscopy. See above for more on this.

Dr. Pinto has high quality and highly trained nurses who do most of the ultrasound check-ups. They are more than capable to do this, which allows him to focus on the more difficult procedures. I had no problem with this, but some patients expect the doctor to be there every single time. That is impractical and unnecessary and costly. Usually I saw the same nurse each week for my ultrasound check-ups before and after getting pregnant.

Describe Anil Pinto's approach to eSET (elective single embryo transfer) vs. multiple embryo transfer at Repromed Fertility Center.
I appreciated that Dr. Pinto was conservative about putting in the minimum number of embryos. With my second child, he only put in one because I had previously had a premature baby, due to incompetent cervix, and he knew the risk with twins would be too high of them being born too early. He is very conservative, which I really appreciate.

Some people are critical because his [Dr Anil Pinto] nursing staff does a lot of your "in-between" appointment where they are just monitoring follicular growth. I actually found to this to be beneficial because it made my appointments [at Repromed Fertility Center] fast and easy -- no waiting or delay, so I could schedule my appointment in the morning and then go to work. I was actually sad when I "graduated" to my OB to be leaving his care and that of his staff. Finally, his staff bent over backwards to work with my insurance company, who was a bit of a pain. If I were just a number or a walking cash machine, there is no way they would have spent hours on the phone trying to get me the coverage they knew I was entitled to have.
How was your experience with Anil Pinto at Repromed Fertility Center?
He is very matter-of-fact, which I appreciated. He explained everything to me like I was an educated adult, and empowered me to make the decisions that were best for me. He never tried to push me into one course of treatment or another. He explained each treatment, the pros and cons of them, and based on literature, the most successful outcome.
Some people think he is too abrupt, but he is actually very caring. He doesn't coddle you. He informs you and makes sure that you have all the information that you need to make these important decisions. I found it to be very empowering after having spent three frustrating years trying to get pregnant with no success on my own.

During treatment, were you treated like a number or a human with Anil Pinto at Repromed Fertility Center?
First, my treatment schedule was never based on dates or times that were "easier" for him or his staff -- it was based on what my body was doing.
Second, his staff -- from the nurses, to the front desk, to the people who draw your blood -- is amazing. They know you, talk to you, answer all of your questions, ect. I emailed my poor nurse, Marci, probably 10,000 times throughout this process, and she was always excellent. Maxed out insurance lifetime max at $25,000; additional out-of-pocket at $20,000. This included three rounds of IVF egg retrieval (one of which had to be cancelled), and one implantation.
Our treatment was a few years ago and I don't remember all the details, but I do remember that Dr. Escobar was very kind, understanding and direct. We understood the process and the next steps all the way through our treatments. I saw him every time I had an appointment. He has a very casual bedside manner and is easily relatable. After my 1st or 2nd failed IUI, I had the uncomfortable dye test and he was great during the procedure. It was painful and he kept me calm throughout.
I suppose a disconnect between a doctor's care and the billing department is relatively normal. In no way do we resent Dr. Escobar for the shock we felt when told about the cost of proceeding with IVF (which we opted not to do). Our insurance plan was from New Jersey so compared to plans from Texas, our coverage was generally excellent. Families in north Dallas suburbs are notoriously affluent, and there seemed to be a sentiment that $6K should be an easy check to write. We simply weren't that liquid! To be fair, I never followed up with the clinic about alternative payment options, other than to tell them we wouldn't be proceeding.
How was your experience with Julian Escobar at Repromed Fertility Center?
Overall, although we didn't end up with the result we wanted, I was happy with Dr. Escobar and the clinic in Dallas. I don't think he's at that clinic anymore though. I also don't remember much about the nursing staff. I don't think I had a designated nurse or coordinator. I did receive adequate instructions from a nurse in a private office within the clinic, on the home injections, and felt comfortable during that process. Overall, I don't have any complaints about the nurses but I also don't have any outstanding moments that I can recall being thrilled.

Our insurance covered the meds and IUI treatments. It would have covered the IVF cycle, but the clinic's lab was not approved/covered by our carrier. The lab costs for the IVF cycle were going to be $6K.

Cost/billing was an issue. And the fact that the clinic did not take personal checks or credit cards for treatment.
I’ve always felt like a human around Dr. Pinto...[he]has called my Husband and I just to ask us how we are doing and if we had any questions...[our protocol]2 rounds of femara with timed intercourse and trigger. 2 rounds of femara with injectables and timed intercourse with trigger. 1 round of IUI with femara, injectables and trigger. 2nd round on hold.

Femara is around $15. Gonal F pen is around $200, ovidrel around $50. IUI procedure is $750.
How was your experience with Anil Pinto at Repromed Fertility Center?
Dr. Pinto has been able to cater to mine and my Husband’s treatment. He has been correct in dosages of injectables and oral medication from the beginning which I feel is very hard to do. There have been times at the end of a work day where Pinto has called my Husband and I just to ask us how we are doing and if we had any questions and that is something I can’t put a value on. We know conceiving is in the cards for us someday and truly believe Dr. Pinto will help us achieve it.

We were a special case. We are a same sex male couple. Our egg donor was 36 (not typical age for egg donor). Dr Escobar gave us so much hope and helped us reach our goal to get pregnant.... He was very detailed in explaining the process. At first we were overwhelmed since we weren’t working with an agency but he calmed our nerves and made everything very simple! Their [Repromed Fertility Center- Dallas'] biggest strength is how knowledgeable they are. You can tell they have been doing this for a long time and know how to make everyone’s experience unique. As for a weakness I can’t think of one. We had zero speed bumps while working with them... I believe we spent around $30,000 with the fertility clinic alone. That includes all the IVF process egg donor/surrogate medication.

Dr. Pinto is very personable and has good bedside manner. I have a little trouble sometimes understanding him due to his accent but it's not something that would keep me from going to his clinic. Every cycle that I've gotten a negative he has personally called me with kind words to lift my spirit and to assure me that we will get this all figured out... We did cycles 1-3 with letrazole, trimmed intercourse and trigger shot followed with progesterone. Skipped cycle 4 due to a cyst. Cycle 5 we did letrazol, trigger shot, iui and progesterone.
The nursing staff [at Repromed Fertility Center] is AMAZING! Extremely personable and I always feel extremely comfortable voicing any questions or concerns I may have. I have no complaints thus far. I would just be sure to tell a new patient to ask lots of questions and not worry about looking incompetent because the staff is so helpful and wont be judgemental at all.

The first time I met him [Dr. Escobar], for an HSG it was very quick and just to the point...was nice and friendly. He fully explained to me what he thought I needed as far as treatment went. He discussed a plan of action and possible risks and complications. I told him my fears and concerns and he seemed to recognize those...He believed I had a hydrosalpinx due to endometriosis and recommended a laparoscopy. I went ahead with the procedure and he was correct. My left tube had a hydrosalpinx and was damaged.
The office staff makes this clinic [Repromed Fertility Center] TERRIBLE! Not friendly at all. They have horrible follow through. Describe the specific things that went wrong at Repromed Fertility Center.
On the day our results were in for our ivf cycle, we waited until late in the day for the results of our beta. I eventually called them and they were in. Not sure how long they had been sitting on the nurses desk when we called or if they were going to call us with them or make us wait until the next day.
Dr. Pinto always talks to me and treats me like I'm his only patient...talks with me like I am his friend, not a patient. Always asking how I am doing and how my husband is (always calls him by his name) if he is not with me. Very friendly and great bedside manor!

How was your experience with Anil Pinto at Repromed Fertility Center?
Dr Pinto was amazing. He was very informative. He would call me after hours and check in on me and answered any questions my husband or I had. He personalized a plan for me the 2nd time around when I had low HCG numbers that resulted in a chemical pregnancy. I began seeing an acupuncturist to help with blood flow and added certain vitamins. That method proved to work as now I'm pregnant and my number were above average this time! I'm going to miss him seeing him once I graduate from his office (5/6/24). I thank the Lord for bringing Dr. Pinto into my life.
What's one piece of advice would you give a prospective patient of Anil Pinto at Repromed Fertility Center?

Describe your experience with the nursing staff at Repromed Fertility Center.
Dr. Pinto and his STAFF were amazing to me. My IVF journey has been so hard but with each appointment his staff was so understanding and answered all questions I had without hesitation. Michelle, Ms. Vicki and Monique helped me so much along the way from emailing me, reminding me of appointments, and ordering my medications. I'm forever grateful. Aislinn is a sweetheart. She had the difficult job of telling me I had miscarried (2022) and she handled it with such grace. She spoke to me as if I was a close and dear friend to her. I will forever remember that moment with her. Then 15 months later, she had the pleasure of sharing with me that I was PREGNANT and my HCG numbers were high. I heard the excitement in her voice as if she had been silently rooting for me those previous months to finally here those words. My graduation is 5/6/24 from Dr. Pinto's office. I'll miss him and the ladies so much. They were truly heaven sent.

Describe the costs associated with your care under Anil Pinto at Repromed Fertility Center.
$264 doctor's visit for sono and blood until deductible
$375 FET
$1755 Embryo Transfer (since deductible hadn't been met)
My first IVF [with Dr. Amil Pinto] was kinda standard high dose stim fresh day 3 transfer. It didn’t go well at all. (Low number of eggs and low quality embryos) My second time, we talked about antagonist protocol. (Quality over quantity) I took supplements and did a natural start antagonist cycle. I got quality over quantity (which is what we were going for) we froze the embryos and did a FET. (Day 3)
[at Repromed Fertility] The lab grading on embryos is great, good, fair. (Not AA etc.) Sometimes it’s hard having to talk to so many different departments. (Billing, different nurses, receptionist) I was sometimes more on top of my cycle then the office. (Ex. I knew I needed meds or lab work and would have to call the nurses and explain why I knew and then scramble to make it happen in time) Positive: I really felt pretty free to suggest things for my cycle and that is a huge plus! I would feel like my hands were tied otherwise. Price is average for the area. Second cycles are discounted I believe.
How was your experience with Anil Pinto at Repromed Fertility Center?
I have a daughter! Saying that makes anything that could be a negative seem small. Dr. Pinto is a business man. I had no problem with him. I felt heard most of the time, and felt pretty free to suggest things for my cycle.
What's one piece of advice would you give a prospective patient of Anil Pinto at Repromed Fertility Center?
Keep in mind the number of offices and therefore patients he has. He might not see you every time, or have the bedside manner you are hoping for. (He does make small talk) My take away: there is a huge wall full of baby photos that he helped make happen. His prices are average for the area.
During treatment, were you treated like a number or a human with Anil Pinto at Repromed Fertility Center?
I didn’t have a problem with my “number” treatment, it’s not really an issue to me. He sees MANY patients and I mostly saw nurses at the Dallas office. (They were the ones measuring follicles, changing meds after consulting him etc.)
Describe the protocols Anil Pinto used in your cycles at Repromed Fertility Center and their degree of success.
I of course took the pills and did 3
IUIs before moving on to IVF. My first IVF was kinda standard high dose stim fresh day 3 transfer. It didn’t go well at all. (Low number of eggs and low quality embryos)
My second time, we talked about antagonist protocol. (Quality over quantity) I took supplements and did a natural start antagonist cycle. I got quality over quantity (which is what we were going for) we froze the embryos and did a FET. (Day 3) I had my daughter from that cycle. I felt like Dr. Pinto was open to my using supplements and he had me stim an extra day. My second cycle was discounted which was awesome. I was very pleased with my results. I was impressed that he recognized in that first IVF that I would do better with a different protocol. I’ve heard many people say they tried the same protocol multiple times before switching and I wouldn’t have had $$$ for multiple tries.
Describe your experience with the nursing staff at Repromed Fertility Center.
I loved many of the nurses there. Marci was the main IVF nurse at the time. They were all friendly.

IVF back in 2013/2014 was about 12K with meds.

Dr. Pinto was/is extremely patient and understanding to each person’s situation. He analyze what need be before taking on any further treatment such as surgery’s before moving forward outside of the actual cycle...start birth control on day 2 and the calendar was sent a week later. My meds were already ordered and ready to go. We had to cancel the cycle due to financial issues...He made sure my husband and I knew what we were facing. Also, the nurses were extremely helpful. We’ve cancelled 2 cycles due to financial issues, but once we’re ready, we will definitely go all the way next time.

Retrievals- I don’t remember exactly but I know gonal f and menopur.
Transfer- started with lupron shots then gonal F shots then moved on to estrogen pills and patches. Lastly added progesterone. Continued progesterone and estrogen after transfer and added lovenox and aspirin. Also did a novarel shot after transfer.
Describe your experience with your nurse at Repromed Fertility Center. (Assigned nurse: Sarah Jane- retrievals Amber- transfers)
All the. Rises were super helpful and caring. Sarah Jane was so helpful with the retrievals and made my calendar. Amber made my calendar for transfer. Both were very helpful and answered all my questions quickly.

The process of IVF is very time consuming and can be difficult depending on your work schedule. I would encourage new patients to examine their schedule and see if there is a better time of year to start the process. Lots of appointments that go off your cycle so you’re unable to chose when the appointment is. Your cycle drives the schedule not your own personal schedule. The clinic did the best they could to get me in early so I could still make work. That was greatly appreciated. The shots are at specific times so that has to be considered as well.
Overall, the clinic, nurses and Dr Pinto did their best to make it as easy as possible. I would definitely encourage friends to use this clinic.
Describe the costs associated with your care under Anil Pinto at Repromed Fertility Center.
$13000 surgery center
$7700 IVF cycle
$8000 meds
$3000 ERA
Plus appt, sonograms and other expenses
Total around $40,000
I feel like he [Dr. Pinto] has a standard protocol and that he doesn't vary from it...he was personable and available to answer questions after hours via phone (pre-arranged by his nurse)...We left our last appointment with three courses of action and statistics for them to consider. Apparently, he/the clinic took it upon themselves to decide that we were going to proceed with IVF rather than ask if that's what we wanted to do...my husband and I feel he forgets what he tells patients from one appointment to the next.
[The Repromed Fertility Center nurse's] way too perky email wanting to set up my IVF treatment (that we have not agreed to or advised them to such) was inappropriate. She should have emailed asking if we (or any patient) had made a decision on how to proceed rather that being pushy...I've requested that records be sent back to my OB/GYN as I was referred for testing options that the practice does not do; as of my last inquiry, they still did not have the results from any of the diagnostic tests completed.
How was your experience with Anil Pinto at Repromed Fertility Center?
As mentioned above, I feel like he has a standard protocol despite his website stating he has a special interest in PCOS, which is why I went to him after others pushed for me to try another area RE. While he was personable and available to answer questions after hours via phone (pre-arranged by his nurse), I feel like he doesn't vary from his standard protocol. We left our last appointment with three courses of action and statistics for them to consider. Apparently, he/the clinic took it upon themselves to decide that we were going to proceed with IVF rather than ask if that's what we wanted to do. When I emailed back with my concerns, while I did not fully expect him to respond, I'm surprised that he did not because he randomly called the person who referred me to him who had since stopped treatment with him due to financial reasons.
What's one piece of advice would you give a prospective patient of Anil Pinto at Repromed Fertility Center?
He will not coddle you -- he is a 'this is how it is' person. He will try to lighten the mood in terms of the awkwardness some procedures are. He did do both my sonohyst and my HSG test personally. However, he rotates between five offices and my husband and I feel he forgets what he tells patients from one appointment to the next.
During treatment, were you treated like a number or a human with Anil Pinto at Repromed Fertility Center?
While Dr. Pinto was friendly in our brief interactions with him and was personable, I still felt like I was one of many he's treated and that my age was the only thing he was focused on, not my prior diagnosis (10 years ago) of PCOS. He was more focused on the possibility of diminished ovarian reserve and/or egg quality due to my age than past diagnoses. AMR tests ruled out the DOR, but he was still focused on my age and possible egg quality issues. PCOS only came up if I asked specifically about it. I had the same standard blood workup that a friend with unexplained infertility. Where my OB/GYN tested for additional PCOS issues for baseline info, he did not run all of those same tests. I feel like he has a standard protocol and that he doesn't vary from it
Describe the protocols Anil Pinto used in your cycles at Repromed Fertility Center and their degree of success.
He was hell bent on the fact my age had to mean DOR or egg quality issues and did not address/respond to the PCOS aspect at all. He never tested testosterone levels. I was referred to him mainly for testing, not to immediately jump into treatment, but after all the workup, I was told that due to my age (no mention of PCOS) what my odds were via the natural (no meds) route, IUI, and min stim IVF. He provided stats on his live birth rates with each option. We have not proceeded with treatment yet due to hesitation on the fact he seems to want to do procedures, not address the underlying issue to make certain it does not interfere with said procedures.
Describe your experience with the nursing staff at Repromed Fertility Center.
I've dealt with three members of the medical staff + one scheduler. I loved Ava, she was sweet and positive. Jennifer (the scheduler) is the only reason I haven't fully walked away to finding another RE just yet. Amber may have had an off day the day she did an ultrasound for me, but compared to the technician at my OB/GYN, she rubbed me the wrong way personality wise. Sarah Jane -- while I've been told good things about her, she is the one that has me very close to walking away. Her way too perky email wanting to set up my IVF treatment (that we have not agreed to or advised them to such) was inappropriate. She should have emailed asking if we (or any patient) had made a decision on how to proceed rather that being pushy, which is how her email came off to me, but to several others (who don't have infertility issues) interpreted it. I don't mind upbeat, but be considerate and ask before pushing an option that hasn't been agreed upon.
Describe your experience with Repromed Fertility Center.
All of the above statements apply, Dr. Pinto is the only doctor in the practice at this time. If cookie cutter/standard treatment routes appeal to you or you are ready to (emotionally and financially) dive into treatment, then this clinic may be for you. However, if you want the underlying issue treated as well, seek second options before finalizing a treatment plan with any one doctor.
Describe the costs associated with your care under Anil Pinto at Repromed Fertility Center.
My insurance paid a majority of the costs associated with the diagnostic testing (I was out of pocket less than $400 on copays and coinsurance for two office consulatations (one including an ultrasound), lab work (10 vials), sonohyst, and HSG). However, my insurance will not pay for any infertility treatment. I am facing approximately $2000 per round for IUI or $25,000 for one round of minimal stimulation IVF (which includes two rounds of egg retrievals and one embryo implantation after PGS testing). My husband had to pay $140 out of pocket for a semen analysis that the offsite lab would not file insurance on.
Describe Anil Pinto's approach to eSET (elective single embryo transfer) vs. multiple embryo transfer at Repromed Fertility Center.
He stated that he would only do a single embryo transfer in my "situation". However, had he asked my preference, I would be okay with a multiple embryo transfer.
