Attention to Detail

Attention to detail is on a 1 - 10 scale, and is scored based on the rate, and severity, of errors committed by the clinic according to the patients.

For example, a severe error might be failing to inform a patient of critical information, while a small error might be failing to call a patient with results.

CDC Success Rates

This is the most recent data from the CDC. The CDC cautions that it should not be used to compare doctors and clinics. This data represents the outcomes of IVF cycles when using a person's own eggs.

For more information please see our FAQs.

Where you see a “?” on the chart, a clinic has done fewer than 20 cycles in this category and age range, so the CDC says showing percentages from this small data set would be misleading and unreliable.

Success w/ Doc Too early to know
We were comfortable with Dr. Cho at the start of our very first conversation. She is incredibly personable, she's compassionate but also doesn't beat around the bush. She is very forward with her opinions and answering questions, which I really appreciate.... She has adjusted our treatment plan as we've gone along to tailor it to our needs as a result of what she is seeing in each monitored IUI cycle. We have had 4 unsuccessful IUI's with her (1 chemical) and she has tried different/more aggressive approaches as we've continued.
The clinic's financial office is very straightforward with costs, what your insurance will and won't cover, and there is never any hidden fees. The lady running the financial office is super helpful and friendly. The clinic itself [Seattle Reproductive Medicine] is on the higher end cost wise in the area for IVF, but reasonably compared with all other treatment/diagnostic that we have done. We have never come across an unfriendly face in any of the three offices we have visited.
How was your experience with Michele Cho at Seattle Reproductive Medicine?
We were comfortable with Dr. Cho at the start of our very first conversation. She is incredibly personable, she's compassionate but also doesn't beat around the bush. She is very forward with her opinions and answering questions, which I really appreciate. There are so many unknowns with infertility, it is nice to have a doctor that can answer things clearly. She has adjusted our treatment plan as we've gone along to tailor it to our needs as a result of what she is seeing in each monitored IUI cycle. We have had 4 unsuccessful IUI's with her (1 chemical) and she has tried different/more aggressive approaches as we've continued. We just had our IVF consult with her, and I'm very happy to have my care, healthy and future children in the hands of Dr. Cho.
What's one piece of advice would you give a prospective patient of Michele Cho at Seattle Reproductive Medicine?
Ask all your questions! You will get honest feedback geared towards your own situation and needs. Don't be nervous, she's so kind and personable and you're in good hands!
During treatment, were you treated like a number or a human with Michele Cho at Seattle Reproductive Medicine?
Dr. Cho is incredibly personal and talks candidly with her patients about their specific situation as not as a statistic. She does talk statistics, because they are important to be aware of, but does not talk make us feel like a statistic.
Describe the protocols Michele Cho used in your cycles at Seattle Reproductive Medicine and their degree of success.
4 IUI'S. #1- Letrozole/trigger #2 Higher dose of letrozole/trigger #3 Same dose of letrozole w/ gonal-f #4 Same as iui 3
Describe your experience with your nurse at Seattle Reproductive Medicine. (Assigned nurse: Kimmy)
Kimmy is also incredibly nice, quick to respond and organized. She is the one we do most to all communication with unless we schedule an appointment with Dr. Cho, and she has been fantastic.

$650-ish for IUI Looking at anywhere from $22k to $48k for IVF based on our situation. There base cost for IVF is $14k (but doesn't include medication, pgs testing, or the transfer). Multi-cycle programs available.

Every time that we had a failed cycle [Dr. Michele Cho] would look at the lab work and talk to us about different options. She was always trying to find a solution to why things weren't working...is a very intelligent positive person that is looking out for the best interests of her patients. She didn't over prescribe or over treat. She was very available to us and allowed open communication...has excellent bedside manner and treats each of her patients and your spouse like you are her only patient. We never felt rushed.
The Kirkland office [Seattle Reproductive Medicine] is smaller in size and more intimate which we liked since we are from a smaller town. The Seattle location on the lake is very large and more industrial feeling which felt "colder" to us...Our primary nurse Katie was excellent! She was always very organized and on top of what we needed for each cycle. This was so important it helped to decrease some of the anxiety about the cycles.

Dr. Cho is a very intelligent positive person that is looking out for the best interests of her patients. She didn't over prescribe or over treat. She was very available to us and allowed open communication.
What's one piece of advice would you give a prospective patient of Michele Cho at Seattle Reproductive Medicine?
Don't be scared to come to her with a list of questions, she takes the time to answer them all and relieve your anxieties.
During treatment, were you treated like a number or a human with Michele Cho at Seattle Reproductive Medicine?
Dr. Cho has excellent bedside manner and treats each of her patients and your spouse like you are her only patient. We never felt rushed. We always felt like she remembered us and was very sympathetic to our situation but still interested in problem solving why things didn't work or what we could change for next time.
Describe the protocols Michele Cho used in your cycles at Seattle Reproductive Medicine and their degree of success.
Every time that we had a failed cycle Dr. Cho would look at the lab work and talk to us about different options. She was always trying to find a solution to why things weren't working. It was difficult because we have unexplained infertility so when everything looked like it should work, it wouldn't. Because of this, it made Dr. Cho really get creative with different cycle options.
Describe your experience with your nurse at Seattle Reproductive Medicine. (Assigned nurse: Katie)
Our primary nurse Katie was excellent! She was always very organized and on top of what we needed for each cycle. This was so important it helped to decrease some of the anxiety about the cycles. We also lived over 2 hours away from the clinic and it was important for things to be timed well for us with the multiple trips that we were making while trying to still work full time to pay for the cycles. When we were would have a negative outcome from a cycle, Katie would always notify us at quickly as possible and was always very caring and compassionate when she did. We felt like she really cared about our future family and the success of our treatments. She is someone who made a positive impact on the care that we received at SRM.
Describe your experience with Seattle Reproductive Medicine.
The Kirkland office is smaller in size and more intimate which we liked since we are from a smaller town. The Seattle location on the lake is very large and more industrial feeling which felt "colder" to us. Again just personal preference, we aren't big city kind of people. Everyone worked really hard to protect our privacy while being empathetic to our situation.
Describe the costs associated with your care under Michele Cho at Seattle Reproductive Medicine.
I don't remember off the top of my head how much the IUI was versus the IVF and egg retrieval. I do remember that the IUI was a couple of hundred dollars more than our small town clinic and the IVF was a couple of thousand dollars more than our small town clinic. But the money was better spent at SRM for the care that we received.
Describe Michele Cho's approach to eSET (elective single embryo transfer) vs. multiple embryo transfer at Seattle Reproductive Medicine.
SRM and the providers there really encouraged single embryo transfer due to the high risk nature of a pregnancy with multiples. They also provided us educational resources regarding the risks and benefits of each option.

She [Dr. Kennedy] spent our consultation reviewing all the potential infertility possibilities in great depth. This was overwhelming and in the end only our diagnosis was relevant so time wasted. She did most of the talking and didn’t save much time for us to ask questions.... No monitoring or follow up. She provided a report for our chances/odds of IVF and IUI but the personal information/data she used was not accurate. We felt she was only interested in working with us if we did IVF.
The scheduling staff [Seattle Reproductive Medicine] was unorganized and we experienced long waits and even saw others turned away from scheduling errors. The nurses were great in all aspects. The patient portal was very user-friendly.... We waited over and hour for our appointment because the prior appointment was incorrectly scheduled as a short time slot for a follow up rather than new patient.... [nurse] is highly knowledgeable and provided detailed feedback/explanations that were easily understood.
How was your experience with Janet Kennedy (retired) at Seattle Reproductive Medicine?
She spent our consultation reviewing all the potential infertility possibilities in great depth. This was overwhelming and in the end only our diagnosis was relevant so time wasted. She did most of the talking and didn’t save much time for us to ask questions. During my AFC scam she announced she wasn’t finding any follicles, which was extremely upsetting, and then after a bit more searching she found them. She preformed this year mid-cycle, which I’ve since learned is not the best time for this test/scan. Once diagnosed with DOR, she pushed for us to go straight to IVF with no other options provided. When we expressed that we were not ready to go straight to IVF and asked what other options we have. Dr. Kennedy said, “well I guess you could do Letrozole with timed intercourse.” No monitoring or follow up. She provided a report for our chances/odds of IVF and IUI but the personal information/data she used was not accurate. We felt she was only interested in working with us if we did IVF. Since seeing her, I’ve been retested (1 year later) and all numbers are slightly better. My OAR ERS is 10 (fair 6-10, good 11-15), AMH 1.12, FSH 6.56 at age 33.
What's one piece of advice would you give a prospective patient of Janet Kennedy (retired) at Seattle Reproductive Medicine?
Don’t see her
During treatment, were you treated like a number or a human with Janet Kennedy (retired) at Seattle Reproductive Medicine?
Lack of willingness to help with a plan we were comfortable with, lack of bedside manners, algorithm created with incorrect personal data
Describe the protocols Janet Kennedy (retired) used in your cycles at Seattle Reproductive Medicine and their degree of success.
She prescribed Letrozole 2.5mg times cycle days 3-7 with times intercourse. That was all the direction. No follow up or monitoring.
Describe your experience with your nurse at Seattle Reproductive Medicine. (Assigned nurse: Kimmy Burchell)
Kimmy Burchell was my main point of contact/communication. She was prompt and thorough. Kimmy was familiar with my chart and provided positive encouragement for alternative treatment options. She is highly knowledgeable and provided detailed feedback/explanations that were easily understood.

Describe the costs associated with your care under Janet Kennedy (retired) at Seattle Reproductive Medicine.
Patient costs (after Ins) to see doctor was just shy of $1000 for initial consultation with doctor, blood tests, AFC, HSG, and follow-up with doctor.

Describe the specific things that went wrong at Seattle Reproductive Medicine.
We waited over and hour for our appointment because the prior appointment was incorrectly scheduled as a short time slot for a follow up rather than new patient. Whitenessed a woman be turned away because she supposedly, “wasn’t on the schedule.” Most of my complaints have been detailed in other comment sections of this survey.

Whenever I needed to consult the doctor, that was arranged for me promptly, usually within that day. When I met with the doctor [Dr. Cho] directly, she made time to answer all of my questions and never gave me the impression that there was a time limit to that...She seemed knowledgeable and compassionate when I met with her. I always had lots of questions, and those questions were answered. I did not get pregnant, but I never felt that was due to poor treatment.
The network of nurses and other support personnel [Seattle Repro Med] were amazing and always available. It was very easy to get questions answered -- and I had a lot of them. Costs and dealing with billing were downsides, but I'm not sure what could be done to change this....The clinic had a good set-up -- most of the time, I would communicate with a nurse/physician's assistant, who would respond quickly to all online or phone questions.

What's one piece of advice would you give a prospective patient of Michele Cho at Seattle Reproductive Medicine?
Make sure to schedule an appointment specifically with the doctor if/when there are major questions -- the support staff are amazing with the day-to-day, so it's easy to forget that the doctor is there to talk about the major treatment options.

Describe the protocols Michele Cho used in your cycles at Seattle Reproductive Medicine and their degree of success.
There were no indications of infertility (other than age), so we started with unmedicated IUI treatments for the first few months. When those did not work, I added letrozole for a couple of months. After meeting with Dr. Cho, we decided to add fertility injections (keeping the letrozole as well) and a trigger shot before the IUI.
Describe your experience with your nurse at Seattle Reproductive Medicine.
I was assigned a nurse from the first appointment and communicated with her regularly over the next several months (I don't remember her name mainly because I'm terrible with names -- it might have been Katie). I saw her almost every time I went into the office for any treatments, and she was my main point of communication for questions during the various cycles. I have nothing but good things to say about her!

Describe the costs associated with your care under Michele Cho at Seattle Reproductive Medicine.
My insurance was good at the time, so costs were manageable. Even copays were in the hundreds of dollars, however, so it did cost a lot of money -- without insurance, I assume this would be extremely expensive.

Dr. Letterie is friendly and personable while also being extremely experienced and professional. He, and his team, made us feel like we were the only patients they were working with every time we went in for an appointment or called with a question. Dr. Letterie was kind and patient in how he explained our potential fertility issues and each stage of us trying to conceive. He remained positive but realistic which helped us get through the failed attempts until we reached IVF which was successful...
SRM has multiple locations in this area which is really nice. The Bellevue location was the most convenient for me, but the Kirkland and Seattle locations weren't too far away either. All of the staff that we worked with at all three locations were professional but friendly and approachable. There were times the waiting room would be full but it felt more like a community versus crowded or like the clinic was ill prepared. We felt well taken care of at each stage no matter which location we were at.
How was your experience with Gerard Letterie at Seattle Reproductive Medicine?
He remained positive but realistic which helped us get through the failed attempts until we reached IVF which was successful on our first try. A month after our baby was born, Dr. Letterie had his team reach out to us to say congratulations and to ask us how we were doing.
What's one piece of advice would you give a prospective patient of Gerard Letterie at Seattle Reproductive Medicine?
Go into your appointments ready to learn because he will make all of the procedures easy to understand even for someone with no medical knowledge.
During treatment, were you treated like a number or a human with Gerard Letterie at Seattle Reproductive Medicine?
Dr. Letterie spent as much time as needed with us and never made us feel like we were taking up too much of his day. My husband and I are both the type to need to know all of the details and Dr. Letterie answered all of our questions and drew diagrams to help us remember all of the new information once we went home. He was positive and upbeat while also being realistic and professional.
Describe the protocols Gerard Letterie used in your cycles at Seattle Reproductive Medicine and their degree of success.
We started by making sure I was ovulating and that my tubes were in working order. Once that was determined not to be our problem Dr. Letterie checked my husbands sperm count to check that off of our list. We progressed to tracking my ovulation and taking medication to speed up my ovulation due to my long cycles and overabundance of follicles. We then did IUI to try and get the timing correct for fertilization. When that wasn't successful, my husband and I took some time off to regroup and Dr. Letterie was very kind and understanding about that. Finally, we moved onto the IVF process which resulted in a live singleton on our first try and 15 healthy embryos frozen and waiting for us when we are ready for our second.
Describe your experience with your nurse at Seattle Reproductive Medicine. (Assigned nurse: Justina Vasquez)
Justina (Tina) was accessible and personable. She was available through secured email on their website at all times and when she was out she had a backup nurse who would respond in her place. She made our experience so much smoother because we didn't have to do much work at all. She coordinated appointments and reminded us of when to start certain parts of our treatment and who to contact for specific questions.
Describe your experience with Seattle Reproductive Medicine.

Describe the costs associated with your care under Gerard Letterie at Seattle Reproductive Medicine.
It was expensive, but not quite as bad as I had anticipated. Dr. Letterie and his finance team were up front about what costs would look like and they went over the best options for us. There was a program to make monthly payments so the cost wasn't such a shock and there was separate option which was ideal for a family that would have a specific course of treatment. We felt well informed on our options and figuring out what worked best for us.
Describe Gerard Letterie's approach to eSET (elective single embryo transfer) vs. multiple embryo transfer at Seattle Reproductive Medicine.
After our journey, I was hesitant to only transfer one embryo. What if just one didn't take and we had to have another month of disappointment and then another month of waiting and anxious anticipation? Dr. Letterie explained that carrying a baby wasn't an issue for me and if we implanted two embryos that we would have twins. He was absolutely correct with this plan because our single embryo implanted on our first try!

Ask the hard questions, understand where you as a specific patient fall with regards to realistic expectations and outcomes.
During treatment, were you treated like a number or a human with Michele Cho at Seattle Reproductive Medicine?
Dr. Cho was very responsive to my individual needs and requests. She accommodated my schedule and moved as quickly as we could to complete a successful cycle
Describe the protocols Michele Cho used in your cycles at Seattle Reproductive Medicine and their degree of success.
IUI with clomid x5 cycles- Dr. Cho recommended IVF sooner but we wanted to ensure a good try with IUI. IVF with ICSI - x2 fresh cycles - cycle 1 wasn't as successful with retrieval as we hoped. This resulted with a chemical and 1 frozen. I did an immediate 2nd cycle making changes to simulation medications with a much more successful retrieval with a successful fresh transfer and multiple frozen embryos.

Dr. Criniti was very warm and comforting and always explained things clearly. She was very sensitive to my personal beliefs and went out of her way to help us grow our family. I had no issues with her.... She ran several tests, first on my husband to make sure he was healthy and his sperm count was normal. Then on me to try and figure out why I was having infertility issues. Ultrasounds, tests to make sure my fallopian tubes weren't blocked and then she started me on Letrozole because it is supposed to also help endometriosis symptoms (which it did). I was on that for around 12 months. During that time they monitored my cycles closely and did ultrasounds to see when I was ovulating.
They [Seattle Reproductive Medicine] are open even on weekends to accommodate people who work normal shifts and ovulation schedules. They are friendly while scheduling and always very caring when you go in. You can tell they care about what they do and how they do it. We had great experiences at both the Kirkland and Seattle locations.... My primary nurse followed up with me every month around the time my cycle started over and made sure I had appointments to see them around the time I was ovulating. She was very organized, caring and efficient.
How was your experience with Amy Criniti at Seattle Reproductive Medicine?
Dr. Criniti was very warm and comforting and always explained things clearly. She was very sensitive to my personal beliefs and went out of her way to help us grow our family. I had no issues with her. My husband and I choose to take a step back from treatment and are planning on going to see her again in a month to discuss our next step.
What's one piece of advice would you give a prospective patient of Amy Criniti at Seattle Reproductive Medicine?
I would definitely recommend seeing her! She is great!
During treatment, were you treated like a number or a human with Amy Criniti at Seattle Reproductive Medicine?
Dr. Criniti was very warm and comforting and always explained all of my options.

I ovulate regularly but on Letrozole I had two eggs mature several times. During the 12 months, when we could afford it we did a series of two IUI's which were not successful. She then suggested surgery as, in my previous testing, they found a endometrial cyst on one ovary and a slight uterus septum. After surgery she suggested another IUI which was also unsuccessful. So her next recommendation was IVF but my husband and I decided to step back at that point.

I appreciated her [Dr Cho] honesty that we needed to move on for a better chance of getting pregnant if the treatment didn't work this time, especially since we were paying completely out of pocket...he is so compassionate and her bedside manner was exceptional, especially when she had to consult us after our first successful round during the ultrasound that the baby no longer had a heartbeat.
The only area I had difficulty with [at Seattle Reproductive Medicine] was the payments of the procedures. I felt like the payment coordinator needed more knowledge and compassion. We always had to pay for services after our appointment and some days I'd be in tears and having to hand over my debit card and all I wanted to do was go grieve in private. I feel there could be a better standard for receiving payment. Either upfront or an online account. Paying before the appointment would be better as well.
How was your experience with Michele Cho at Seattle Reproductive Medicine?
My nurses and techs would relay to Michelle any concerns and she would call or email me right away and address everything. She would recommend the next course of treatment or testing but would always let us be in the driver's seat of the decision. She is so compassionate and her bedside manner was exceptional, especially when she had to consult us after our first successful round during the ultrasound that the baby no longer had a heartbeat. She checked in with us often during our short stop of treatment and was our biggest cheerleader for the next treatments. We successfully got pregnant on our last round of IUI before having to move onto IVF. I appreciated her honesty that we needed to move on for a better chance of getting pregnant if the treatment didn't work this time, especially since we were paying completely out of pocket.
What's one piece of advice would you give a prospective patient of Michele Cho at Seattle Reproductive Medicine?
Ask questions. She is a wealth of knowledge and helps you understand everything.

TIna was amazing. She would relay any concerns to Michele right away. She also helped me learn and practice giving injections and connected me with the best pharmacies to order the prescriptions from. She was well organized and had my whole protocol outlined. She would be very prompt in returning calls or emails and even checked in on us after we had our baby.

The payment coordinator would also setup appointments and she incorrectly setup the time and appointment needed for an IUI. I feel scheduling shouldn't be coordinated by this person at all unless they are familiar with the procedures. Usually when you call in they have schedulers but after appointments your can schedule with this person and it didn't work in our favor that time.

We felt very confident in her knowledge and experience, and she also seemed to be on the cutting edge as she was regularly mentioning new research, new studies, and new treatments... She laid out treatment options, gave us pros and cons and recommendations, and then let us make the choices so we felt in control of the process, as much as you can feel in control in this situation.
We had a few different nurses during our years there, and they were all great, compassionate, and very good communicators... This clinic is huge, with 3 different offices that we visited and another office a little further away that we didn't. I bring this us because it was really nice, if we needed a test, we could either go to the clinic that was closest to us, or if we needed an appointment, we could pick one with a time that was most convenient for us.

We felt very confident in her knowledge and experience, and she also seemed to be on the cutting edge as she was regularly mentioning new research, new studies, and new treatments. It made us feel in good hands.
What's one piece of advice would you give a prospective patient of Amy Criniti at Seattle Reproductive Medicine?
Be completely open and honest with her about your needs as well as your boundaries, as in what you're comfortable with and what you're not. She'll listen, really, and work with you to make sure your treatment is custom for your needs, but she can't guess what you're comfortable with.
During treatment, were you treated like a number or a human with Amy Criniti at Seattle Reproductive Medicine?
She was warm, funny, compassionate, caring, and friendly. We really did feel like she cared, and that she really wanted to help us get pregnant. She laid out treatment options, gave us pros and cons and recommendations, and then let us make the choices so we felt in control of the process, as much as you can feel in control in this situation.
Describe the protocols Amy Criniti used in your cycles at Seattle Reproductive Medicine and their degree of success.
We kind of started with the least invasive process of tests and clomid, then went to IUIs, then IVF, and after several biochemical miscarriages, we went to donor eggs. She changed the protocol after every failed pregnancy and we found success with the donor eggs, but also felt like we had literally tried everything possible.

Our doctor was at different offices on different days, so we have a lot of flexibility. We also knew we were going to be well covered on weekends and holidays - when you are in the middle of a cycle, mother nature doesn't care if you need a blood draw on Christmas day, you just need to get it done, and it never felt weird having holiday or weekend appointments.

She [Dr. Amy Criniti] was warm and hopeful. She let us pick what courses of treatment and how many treatments we wanted to take/do. Sometimes I felt that she was too laid back about our care. I wish I had more contact with her.... The times that I met face to face with the Dr, I really enjoyed her and felt supported. Unfortunately, I only met with her a few times. The rest of her staff left me feeling as if I was bothering them when I had questions, they lacked good communication skills and overall were not friendly.
After I completed my last IUI cycle, I never heard from them [SRM- Kirkland] again. They never called to see what the outcome of the cycle was or if I wanted to meet with the dr or move forward with another plan. I literally never heard from them.... This is a clean clinic. The billing system is not consistent, overall communication is not consistent. Your experience completely depends on who you are working with that day. You may get the kind nurse, or the cold nurse. Etc.

Dr. Davis is well spoken, kind, compassionate, professional, and smart. She also really wants us to get pregnant, and is so disappointed when we get a negative result. I know that I can always contact Dr. Davis by phone and/or email.... We've had 3 IUIs, 3 IVFs, 1 cancelled IVF due to low response, and 1 FET. We used different protocols for every cycle.
[Seattle Reproductive Med-Kirkland's] Strengths: Multiple locations, the Seattle location is open Saturdays and Sundays, great group of doctors, great receptionists, they do a ton of tests in house Weaknesses: Some of the nurses that do blood draws in Seattle on the weekends aren't very good, expensive... We did a package plan through Attain, Attain IVF Refund 2+ Program in 2016. It was 25,950. Our current cycle of IVF is $13,742.02. I don't remember the cost of the other rounds of IVF.

I did three days of Femara and an Ovidrel injection, followed with an IUI [with Dr. Cho]. We have been trying for 2 years and this was her first recommendation...Dr Cho was very friendly. I spoke with her in a private office and she explained things well... informative at the consultation, but that is the only time I have seen her. She cared about my history and listened to my concerns. However, Dr Cho did not cover in the consultation that she would not see me for follow ups, or be the one to do the IUI.
The coordinators and staff [at Seattle Reproductive Medicine] are very responsive through the patient portal. However, I would not recommend getting answers over the phone... estimated $1000 for one IUI...The clinic seems very organized at the consultation. It is very structured in regards to who you meet and what their part is. Everyone provides their own business card, which is helpful. The weakness would be offering a plan, but not telling me what to do when the plan doesn’t work. How many IUIs should I try, or what is the success rate of an IUI were nit explained to me.

She’s [Dr. Cho] very informative and answers all your questions honestly without giving you false hopes. She remembers you and what treatments you’ve done. She made me feel welcomed and provided us care and information during our loss....First 2 IUIs failed and after requesting a more aggressive approach she agreed without hesitation and it worked, although it ended at 8 weeks she saw me through it.... be ready for bumps in the road but Dr. Cho will guide you through it.
I’ve been seeing them [Seattle Repro Med] for 6 months and I haven’t had any issues with the staff. My appointments are 95% on time. The setting is clean and calm. The receptionist are extremely professional. The financial counselor is so informative....Each IUI after insurance cost us approximately $350 with medications. Insurance has covered labs and ultrasounds.... She [nurse] replies in a timely manner with answers to my questions. Gets my prescriptions in very quickly.

Dr Cho was always real, she didn’t sugar coat anything to make me feel better. She has always given me real expectations and explained why things were important to my case. She offered her opinion but also respected my thoughts and opinions as well. Dr. Cho has her own personal experience with fertility which brings I believe more understanding and trust with the patient. She has helped me Feel at peace with treatment.
Large staff to help out Good communication Mid-high prices Offers outside finance groups Would be nice to offer cash pay patients with no insurance a small discount. Overall I had a great experience with Seattle reproductive medicine... Tina is always very compassionate, will always discuss treatment, my questions and help me prepare for my next step. Tina has always been respectful and encouraged me not to give up.

I first saw Dr. Sheeva Talebian in 2008 when she was in Kirkland, WA. She was very professional, but also warm and welcoming... Never made me feel that I should give up, but gave me the information right up front.
They [the nurses] were always friendly and knew that I liked to joke, so they worked with my humor.
How was your experience with Sheeva Talebian at Seattle Reproductive Medicine?
I first saw Dr. Sheeva Talebian in 2008 when she was in Kirkland, WA. She was very professional, but also warm and welcoming. Since I was a military officer at the time, I also preferred someone who wasn't going to string me along and was more to the point. She met all of my expectations and my husband and I truly enjoyed working with her! After failed rounds of clomid, along with 1 IUI, we moved onto IVF. The first round also didn't work and Dr. Talebian informed me that my egg quality was low and that we would give it one more try with IVF but then she recommended we move onto donor eggs. Luckily the second round worked and our son was born in 2009.
What's one piece of advice would you give a prospective patient of Sheeva Talebian at Seattle Reproductive Medicine?
Just be up front with Dr. Talebian, she will work with you and I believe she appreciates you being just as up front with her. She never made me feel like a statistic, always a woman trying to have a baby.
During treatment, were you treated like a number or a human with Sheeva Talebian at Seattle Reproductive Medicine?
She was always extremely helpful and friendly. Never made me feel that I should give up, but gave me the information right up front. I was extremely pleased with Dr. Talebian.

book in advance a few weeks she [Dr. Michele Cho] is usually booked...She said first we try and help you ovulate with meds with specific dosages. If assisted ovulation doesn't work we will try usually 3 rounds of iui with medications and if that doesn't work we will try off a bit more invasive with ivf. But throughout we will do different ultrasounds like hsg and amh bloodwork and do genetic screening etc...
Sometimes a longer wait then expected [at Seattle Reproductive Medicine] especially if you are coming in between your lunch break. But front desk always friendly, warm and welcoming. Always made sure it was you (verifying ID). I love that this SRM had more than one location so I could go to whichever was most convenient or if I had to do something same day, if my preferred clinic was booked for the timing I wanted I could go to other clinics.
How was your experience with Michele Cho at Seattle Reproductive Medicine?
Dr Cho from the initial consultation on a piece of paper the different routes and steps throughout the fertility we would be taking and in non technical ways explained everything step by step. She was very knowledgeable about anything and everything we had questions about.
What's one piece of advice would you give a prospective patient of Michele Cho at Seattle Reproductive Medicine?
If you wish to see her you missy book in advance a few weeks she is usually booked.
During treatment, were you treated like a number or a human with Michele Cho at Seattle Reproductive Medicine?
Dr Cho was always there a message away from having questions or concerns and always very informative. She gave all the information one needed to move along with the fertility treatment smoothly. She was very honest and never hesitant to answer mystery questions.

Describe your experience with your nurse at Seattle Reproductive Medicine. (Assigned nurse: Katie Albaugh)
Katie was always prompt in resounding to any questions or prompt in sending the Dr a question that I might of had. She was super considerate. She was the support system after my egg retrieval because I ended up getting the flu and she ways checked in every few days via phone call or portal.

Describe the costs associated with your care under Michele Cho at Seattle Reproductive Medicine.
Everything usually went through insurance and bills later popped up in mail. Although a prepayment was made before the IVF treatment.
Describe Michele Cho's approach to eSET (elective single embryo transfer) vs. multiple embryo transfer at Seattle Reproductive Medicine.
I feel like every Dr will scare you with saying there are high risk multiples I wanted to do 2 embryo transfer and went back and forth with 2 or 1 FET . She didn't explain what the Risk were for transferring two embryos instead of two because my husband agreed to transferring one embryo at the off consultation. I was kind of bummed that I was the one going through all the Is not my husband just because she preferred and my husband agreed to one embryo transfer doesn't mean I was agreeing with her.

Dr.Cho explained treatment options and answered all my questions in thorough manner referring to ongoing scientific research. She was candid and honest about the treatment outcomes and was flexible in changing the treatment course based on our previous cycle results. I felt like she always suggested/ recommended what’s best for me..
[Seattle Reproductive Medicine] Strengths: 1. Receptionists are friendly and helpful 2. SRM portal is very convenient in booking appointments and reaching out to our care team Weakness: Need to travel to seattle office on weekends as Kirkland office is closed on weekends...I’m happy with the care I received from the nursing staff..

I’m happy with the care I received from the nursing staff (Tina and Paige), but since some of my weekend appointments happened at Seattle office and portal messaging is not monitored on weekends, I had no options but to wait for them to call on results or next steps because we can’t reach out to them on phone/ email on weekends, which sometimes was frustrating experience.

He [Dr. Akhil Shah] has open communication, always preformed any testing, supported myself and his patients at a fertility awareness race. Caring and open to questions. Took the time to fully explain everything of our treatment plan and any risks that may come up...Letrozole 5mg we are trying that next month if I did not get pregnant naturally this month. This will help with ovulation and more a chance to conceive. If that doesn’t work add IUI for the sperm to have more of a chance to into the Fallopian tubes.

She [Dr. Michele Cho] is very clear in her communication. She was always well prepared for our visits, had all the data at hand, walked us through her observations, conclusions and recommendations clearly and thoroughly. She was warm and friendly always, supportive when things went awry and celebrated with us when they went well. She did our embryo transfer herself, and it felt like just the best way to end a successful cycle...is very energetic, totally focused on us when we are with her, and so cheerful. She always answered our questions proactively and clarified things we hadn't thought to ask about. I felt we were in good hands.

Dr Shah was great... I really felt like my doctor not only wanted to give me all the available information, but also hear out all of my own questions and concerns and made sure to address those... most of the actual procedures outside of the consultations were actually done by others...I had a history of ohss with my previous IVF, so we discussed the ways to monitor and try to avoid it this time around
[At Seattle Reproductive Medicine] I often saw different providers for each step, but everyone was very professional and caring, and you learn to trust the whole team! They also were very quick to address my worries, and did extra tests I asked for just to help with my anxiety...they have amazing equipment, and very proficient people taking blood...worked directly with my insurance and have a great billing department
How was your experience with Akhil Shah at Seattle Reproductive Medicine?
Dr Shah was great! The reason I'm only giving 8/10 is more due to the way the clinic operates - I get to see a lot of different providers during my cycle, so most of the actual procedures outside of the consultations were actually done by others.
What's one piece of advice would you give a prospective patient of Akhil Shah at Seattle Reproductive Medicine?
Trust your doctor, and if something bothers you - don't hesitate to bring it up!
During treatment, were you treated like a number or a human with Akhil Shah at Seattle Reproductive Medicine?
I was always seen very fast after arriving for my appointment, but never rushed out. I really felt like my doctor not only wanted to give me all the available information, but also hear out all of my own questions and concerns and made sure to address those.
Describe the protocols Akhil Shah used in your cycles at Seattle Reproductive Medicine and their degree of success.
I had a history of ohss with my previous IVF, so we discussed the ways to monitor and try to avoid it this time around. Part or it was also the knowledge that we only want one more child, so we don't need to end up with too many viable embryos. It worked out great!
Describe your experience with your nurse at Seattle Reproductive Medicine. (Assigned nurse: Kimmy Burchell)
Kimmy was AMAZING! She responded to all my emails within a few hours (during working hours) and was really personable and helpful. I think she was one of the main factors of my amazing experience with SRM.
Describe your experience with Seattle Reproductive Medicine.
Amazing experience! I've worked with a different (not SRM) reproductive clinic before, but wasn't impressed with an experience and care, so for my second child, I went to SRM. Kirkland was my main office, but I did go to Seattle and Bellevue locations as well for some of the procedures. Wow - so impressed and grateful! My coordinator nurse Kimmy was amazing - so caring and fast with communication. It was different from my first clinic in a way that I often saw different providers for each step, but everyone was very professional and caring, and you learn to trust the whole team! They also were very quick to address my worries, and did extra tests I asked for just to help with my anxiety. I was always seen very fast after walking in (which was very different from my first clinic where I would wait for 30 mins in the waiting room and then over an hour once inside the cabinet), and never felt like my appointments were hurried. In addition - they have amazing equipment, and very proficient people taking blood (I'm really bad at giving blood, but that so painless and quick! Which was appreciated, considering how many time you have to do this in the process).
Describe the costs associated with your care under Akhil Shah at Seattle Reproductive Medicine.
SRM worked directly with my insurance and have a great billing department. On a few occasions my insurance was having issues, and SRT worked with them and me to make sure the issuer is resolved and then can continue to bill correctly, without losing patience or making mistakes!
Describe Akhil Shah's approach to eSET (elective single embryo transfer) vs. multiple embryo transfer at Seattle Reproductive Medicine.
I was on the same page with my doctor about eSET. As my husband said: "I've always wanted twins until I had one" :D

We started with Letrozole at a low dose for 5 days [with Dr. Michele Cho]. Each round we did (5) we increased the dosage/went to 7 days. And also added in Dexamethasone. When I didn’t ovulate she had me do a round of Chlomid which also didn’t work. Then we did a 20 day cycle of menopur injections. Also didn’t ovulate...she said to try something different- nutritionist and ovasitol...I know she has a strong preference to a single egg. She frequently talks about not wanting multiples and cancelling a cycle if there are multiple eggs growing.
They did so many blood tests [at SRM] but didn’t post some of the results...is a great clinic and I’m so happy we were referred to them. They are trying their best to help us achieve our goal of starting a family. They are very knowledgeable and take the time to explain the process to us however they don’t always give opinions...Our nurse is great but also I always have to ask her the questions, she doesn’t explain everything...We started with Letrozole at a low dose for 5 days [with Dr. Michele Cho]. How was your experience with Michele Cho at Seattle Reproductive Medicine?
Dr. Cho thoroughly explained everything to us, laid our our treatment plan, and supported us throughout the process. We met with her three times and each time she was personable, funny, caring, and really listened. I would say the only “weakness” for us was that she frequently recommended IVF when we told her we won’t be able to for a year or two.

Describe the protocols Michele Cho used in your cycles at Seattle Reproductive Medicine and their degree of success.
We started with Letrozole at a low dose for 5 days. Each round we did (5) we increased the dosage/went to 7 days. And also added in Dexamethasone. When I didn’t ovulate she had me do a round of Chlomid which also didn’t work. Then we did a 20 day cycle of menopur injections. Also didn’t ovulate. We met with Dr. Cho again and she said to try something different- nutritionist and ovasitol. I also added in fertility acupuncture. I recently had a period so we are doing another cycle of Letrozole and if that doesn’t work we will do another cycle of injections.
Describe your experience with your nurse at Seattle Reproductive Medicine. (Assigned nurse: Kimmy)
Our nurse is great but also I always have to ask her the questions, she doesn’t explain everything.
Describe your experience with Seattle Reproductive Medicine.
SRM is a great clinic and I’m so happy we were referred to them. They are trying their best to help us achieve our goal of starting a family. They are very knowledgeable and take the time to explain the process to us however they don’t always give opinions.
Describe the costs associated with your care under Michele Cho at Seattle Reproductive Medicine.
Expensive. After insurance we have paid over $3000 not including medicine.
Describe Michele Cho's approach to eSET (elective single embryo transfer) vs. multiple embryo transfer at Seattle Reproductive Medicine.
I know she has a strong preference to a single egg. She frequently talks about not wanting multiples and cancelling a cycle if there are multiple eggs growing.

  • Failed to call with results
  • Lost results
Describe the specific things that went wrong at Seattle Reproductive Medicine.
They did so many blood tests but didn’t post some of the results. We had so trouble when we first started about our nurse calling in the prescription but that could’ve also been the pharmacy’s fault.

Dr.Cho is a very heartwarming and trustworthy one once you talk to her. She listened to me and understood my struggles. Respect my natural cycle rather than asking me to take birth control pills. She suggested a different approach when we failed...Spontaneous natural cycle with fresh embryo transfer without PGT except if there is more than one biopsy level embryo the rest embryos go to PGT. We used the maximum dose of the drug for the stimulation and the number of the retrieved eggs was great. However, the fresh transfer failed and the two biopsy level embryos couldn't pass the PGT.
[Seattle Reproductive Medicine] clinics's strengths - several locations that I can choose anytime I want. Every staff I met at SRM was very professional and made me comfortable to be there. I never felt I was avoided, they are always patient to listen to me. weakness - you have to go to the downtown location for the retrieval and transfer...SRM has a great nursing team and they are very kind and welcoming patients...

Success w/ Doc Too early to know
She [Dr. Michele Cho] heard my concern and validated my feelings. Other fertility doctors said I needed IVF and that it was a 50/50 chance if it would work but she did more research and came up with a different game plan that will hopefully address the concern...She brought appropriate humor and educated us. She made me feel not crazy and address my concerns other doctors wrote off. I feel confident in her treatment plan and trust her fully.
They are so quick to get back to you when you have any questions [at Seattle Reproductive Medicine] and the portal is awesome. Every staff member is kind and helpful. They are quick to call you back when you leave a message and I haven’t met a staff member who was rude or impatient. I had a great experience with a nurse practitioner who shared that she could empathize with my feelings because she was also a patient there. Just her saying that changed my whole outlook. It made my feel not alone.

She wanted to look inside my uterus to see what was going on and get eyes on it for herself. They found I have a heart shaped uterus so she is going surgery to correct this to see if this stops my reoccurring miscarriages. If it does not work, we will move forward with IVF.
