Dr. Setton is terrific. We have been working with him for over a year, and while I haven't had a successful pregnancy yet, I am confident that if I'm to ever have one, it will be because of Dr. Setton's treatment and the care of his team. I've experience multiple miscarriages, IUI cycles, IVF cycles, and transfers under his care. After each event, Dr. Setton has sat down with us and reviewed all of the outcomes, discussed how he wants to change the treatment / protocol to achieve a better outcome, and thoroughly answered all of our questions. Each cycle so far has produced better outcomes due to the changes in treatment. Dr. Setton is also a kind person, very supportive and encouraging, as are all the nurses (the staff is amazing). Even though we've had setbacks, we feel optimistic working with the team.

Ask all of your questions! Dr. Setton will thoroughly answer all of them. No question is dumb - even if you're asking about myths you've read on the internet.

3 IUI cycles (2 with Letrozole, 1 with Clomid) - none resulted in pregnancy. IVF Cycle 1 - antagonist protocol. 12 eggs retrieved, 7 mature, 5 fertilized. All embryos arrested before day 5. IVF Cycle 2 - microdose lupron protocol. 6 eggs retrieved, all mature, all fertilized. Day 3 fresh transfer (because none of the embryos in first cycle made it past day 5). Positive pregnancy but pregnancy did not persist. Remaining embryos arrested. IVF Cycle 3: micro-stim protocol. 8 eggs retrieved, 5 mature, all 5 fertilized. 1 blast frozen & euploid.

Appointments are always well-run and efficient. I don't think I've ever waited for more than 5 minutes at most beyond my appointment start time, and if I show up early for monitoring, they can often take me in right away. There have been a few times when I've needed or wanted an appointment last minute and Dr. Setton has made himself or a member of the staff available within the hour itself to see me, even outside of monitoring hours.

The treatments seem on par with market prices. When doing a cycle, monitoring costs are included in the cycle package. Medications are separate.

Dr. Setton explained very thoroughly what the tradeoffs and risks were for eSET vs. multiple embryo transfer. We felt confident in his decisions.

I highly recommend Dr. Setton, from our first consultation, my partner and I felt like he gave all of the information we needed, but not too much, and asked us questions so he could understand our needs. I appreciated working with Dr. Setton even though we didn't have the outcome we wanted.

Ask questions, make sure you understand the treatment as it is happening. I ended up triggering on the weekend with the Manhattan office which was somewhat stressful because I didn't expect that to happen so soon and to not have a conversation with my dr about it. I would ask about those kinds of possibilities during your retrieval so you can set realistic expectations. Dr. Setton wasn't the one who did my retrieval either, which was fine, but a surprise I wish I had know about so I could be prepared. In retrospect, it makes a lot of sense but there are a lot of moving parts especially the first time.

I didn't quite understand the protocol only that it was meant to stimulate my ovaries without overstimulating them., which is exactly what happened. I did expect more eggs than I had retrieved, but in the end I had a great retrieval and maturation rate-which I believe is a result of his treatment protocol.

They are very convenient. I had no problem scheduling and could always show up even when the appointments weren't booked properly. I appreciated seeing the ultrasound during the appointments and wish i asked more questions of what we were seeing. For example, i have no idea what my lab results were outside of "everything looks good!" Which was helpful but I think if i asked for numbers I would have felt more informed about where I was in the process.

We had some insurance coverage and paid around $10K out of pocket

Dr. Setton was really helpful. I wanted to move quickly and he made that happen, getting me in to see him the same day as our virtual consult and answering all of my questions. He never made me feel like we needed to rush.

$7500 for the retrieval cycle, plus around $3k for medications, $450 for anesthesia for the procedure, and then $55/month for egg freezing storage.

From the first VC call during Spring 2021 until our graduation day in Fall 2022, Dr. Setton treated us like we mattered so much to him. His honesty, even in the toughest of moments, was always coupled with his unwavering belief in us being able to have our family one day. His warmth and patience made us trust in him. Every communication was detailed, personal and frequent, which always gave us clarity. We are immensely grateful for Dr. Setton for always being supportive, no matter the moment, and for never giving up on us.

My insurance coverage was fairly great. I would pay co-pays for appointments and certain medications. For any procedures or medication that were not covered under my plan I paid out of pocket until I met my deductible or out of pocket costs.

I can’t say enough positive things about Dr. Romanski and his team! During one of the most difficult times in my life, he was kind, knowledgeable, and supportive. We really received personalized care. Good news or bad, a phone call from Dr. Romanski was always a positive.

Don’t be afraid to ask questions, even if they feel silly.

We had male factor but decided to do an IUI. The day of procedure, we found out the seamen we had was really low…our odds had dropped to 5%. He was honest but gave me the chance to make the decision to proceed. After that, we went straight to IVF. I had to stim for like 17 days, so there was a lot of monitoring. We considered a fresh transfer, but my progesterone had started to rise. We did a frozen transfer, and so far so good!

A lot of this was covered by insurance, but I had co pays. The meds were a few hundred. The deposit for the IVF was 3k.

I think doing a single transfer made the most sense given my medical history. We had a concern (rational or not) of multiples.

It’s clear upon meeting him that Dr Singer is an experienced, compassionate doctor with a lot of empathy for his patients. He’s incredibly positive but also pragmatic and direct about anticipated outcomes. He thoroughly explains his decision-making process, and made us feel comfortable and confident the whole time. We were shocked at how well each step of the process went from stims to retrieval and transfer. I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend Dr. Singer to others. A nurse at the Ob-gyn practice I go to who referred me to him quipped “you’ll love him - Dr. Singer gets everyone pregnant!” And that’s fortunately been the case for us. One thing to note is that he does speak extremely quickly, so don’t be afraid to ask him to repeat or clarify. He was always willing to spend as much time as we needed for questions and to gather our concerns. You can tell his heart is really in his work, and that mattered a lot to us.

Write down questions and don’t be afraid to take as much time as you need to feel informed about your treatment plan.

I have PCOS so they started me on a “low and slow” protocol of 75 Menopur and 150 Follistim. I started taking Ganirelix on day 5 of stims once a day, then upped it to twice a day for the last few days and increased Menopur to 150. I had a dual trigger (Lupron and Pregnyl). 25 eggs were retrieved, 21 were mature. I felt back to normal 3 days after my egg retrieval and had a fresh transfer on day 5, which was successful.

Single cycle IVF was $15,700 Medications were around $4000 through Carrot

Dr. Singer is a warm, positive, knowledgable, and patient doctor who cares about you as a person. He knows the statistics behind each stage, knows the answers to your questions, and makes every interaction positive and caring. I had a wonderful experience being his patient.

Don't be afraid to ask questions.

It was covered by insurance but I did have to pay 4,000 for genetic testing.

Since we did genetic testing, he said we should single embryo transfer.

If you’re looking for someone to take the time to sit down with you and actually set realistic expectations, I don’t know if Dr. Brauer is the right fit. During 3 rounds, I think I saw her during 5 monitoring appointments, she performed one of my retrievals, and stopped by after another. She is nice and relatable, but I didn’t really feel like she understood where I was coming from. She just kept recommending more rounds, even when I reached their recommended amount, she still said I should go for more. I felt like just a number and didn’t really feel heard or understood.

Do your research. I went into egg freezing very naively, so I went with the first clinic I did a consultation with. Based on my experience, I’m looking at other clinics now to try to find a doctor that can assist with a low AMH retrieval.

For my first round, I started with 300 mg of Gonal-f, 150 mg Menopur and as time went on these increased to 450 mg and 300 mg, respectively. They also introduced Cetrotide midway through the cycle and the trigger was Pregnyl. We retrieved 4 mature eggs that cycle. For the second round, we did the same protocol but introduced estrogen patches a week after ovulating. We retrieved 7 mature eggs that cycle. We followed the same protocol for the 3rd round and only retrieved 4 mature eggs.

At the time, it was $7800 per cycle, excluding anesthesia. I was initially offered a single cycle or the Assure program (guaranteed 20 eggs). I went with the single cycle. After that I asked if I could do the Assure program, but was told I didn't qualify because of my low AMH. Why was it even offered in the first place? They also raised the price of a cycle to $8400. I asked to be grandfathered into the original pricing and luckily they did accommodate that request.

I had multiple consultations prior to starting infertility treatment. Dr. Singer immediately stood out because of his warmth, his clarity around the treatment plan and explaining the science to us in ways we could understand, his willingness to work with us (one doctor started pushing donor eggs in the very first conversation) and patience with our many questions. When the process started I knew I was in the right hands. We had better than expected results in our first cycle. Our second cycle was not successful (no PGT-A normal embryos), and Dr. Singer could not have been more compassionate when he called with that news. Our third cycle we were lucky enough to again have above average (particularly for my DOR diagnosis) results. At the end of our three retrievals we had multiple PGT-A normal embryos that we were able to freeze. We then had success on our first transfer. We could not be more grateful to Dr. Singer for his expertise and guidance every step of the way.

Talk to him! If you have questions, ask. If you have concerns, raise them. I'm a worrier and tend to over-analyze and research things, and he was great at explaining why he was doing what he was doing, and it put my anxious mind at ease.

I was on Menopur, Gonal-F, and cetrotide for all three retrievals. My dosages were adjusted throughout the retrieval cycles based on how I was responding at each office visit. Our basic approach did not vary because Dr. Singer (and me!) were thrilled with our first round - 7 eggs, 3PGTA normal embryos. While round two was not successful (4 eggs, 0 PGTA embryos), our third round had similar results to the first round. We were thrilled to be in a position where our dream of having multiple children had gone from feeling impossible, to probable! Our first transfer was successful - it was a frozen transfer, using PIO and estradiol for prep (also antibiotics and steroids for prep), and throughout the first 10 weeks, baby aspirin throughout pregnancy.

My insurance thankfully covered 3 attempts per live birth. My medicine was out of pocket and roughly 5K per retrieval, and a couple hundred dollars for transfer meds.

Because I had never been pregnant before and our embryos were tested, Dr. Singer felt strongly that the best course of action for me was SET given the risk of multiples. We agreed completely.

So far we have had a good experience with Doctor Setton. My husband and I liked him from our first appointment and throughout the process he has always been available, patient, warm and knowledgeable. He is straightforward so will let us know the risks and probabilities up front but always in a caring way. He also made the time to call me after important appointments where he was not able to make it in person.

Don't be shy of asking all your questions and understanding the why behind any recommendations/medications.

We first started with IUI and tried 2 cycles but based on the results we decided to move to IVF. For the first IUI I took Clomid which definitely affected my mood and for the second IUI I took Letrozole (did not have any side effects from this medication).

Insurance has covered most of the costs. I do remember that we paid $2,100 for embryo genetic analysis. This is a one time payment despite the number of embryos.

The doctor and clinic's recommendation is to go with single embryo transfer.

The absolute best thing I can say about Dr. Brauer is that her bedside manner during procedures was UNMATCHED. I mean, talk about someone helping you to feel more calm, at ease, comfortable, and prepared! She 100% loves the surgical aspect of her work, it shows tremendously, and your safety during these procedures is of the utmost concern to her. She takes that role very seriously, but to go a step further and ensure your comfort as well, says a lot about the kind of medical professional that she is. I will 100% miss having her perform any future transfers or retrievals. That must be said. Dr. Brauer is intelligent, aspirant, tenacious, and stays up-to-date on information regarding reproductive medicine and is an active member of ASRM and ACOG. Like most physicians, she makes sure that you know these things about her. She is not shy about her credentials (as well she should not be). Albeit being confined sometimes to protocol, she will listen and work with you towards a treatment you feel you are a co-conspirator to, but to a point. While we felt a part of our treatment decisions, it was not without difficulty and push back, sometimes resulting in very tense follow-ups. Dr. Brauer will give you her time, yes. That is another wonderful quality. Sometimes she will give it eagerly, and other times may feel more obligatory. She will, however, always take the time to answer your questions, but do note that if your questions challenge her methods or the protocols, expect to be met with some tension, dare I say attitude about it. If you are coming from a place of researched information, email it to her, provide that clinical study you're referencing, otherwise, it will sound anecdotal and it won't be taken seriously. There was one occassion that Dr. Brauer returned our after hours call to help us with our concerns regarding a trigger shot for our second retrieval. Since the first had failed due to mistimed trigger, we were nervous and did not agree at all with the dosage we were given. She called, spoke to us directly at 9PM in the evening, changed the dosage and we had a successful retrieval. Despite the critical things I've had to say based on our experience....she is THAT doctor - the one that will show up for you if she likes you and/or has something to prove! Stay within her good graces, and she's phenomenal. Our experience with Dr. Bruaer turned sore when we opted not to PGS test our embryos and endured two miscarriages, one of which was an abnormal embryo (Trisomy 22) and the second of which we are still awaiting results on. The foundation on which we were building our medical professional and patient relationship began to see some cracks as our transfers kept resulting in positive pregnancy, followed by miscarriage. It felt obvious to us that these stats were not good for the clinics overall numbers and any zest to fight with us for the family we so desired began to look more like exasperation. Additionally, since we do not pay out of pocket and are covered fully by insurance, we always felt like we were not their ideal patients, and treatment was varied based on this.

I would advise to stay within her good graces, because that is when she is the best doctor anyone could ask for both professionally and emotionally.

I came to SGF in October of 2020 after preterm labor at 18 weeks resulting in loss. After several months of monitoring my beta, a Saline Sonogram was finally done by another doctor within the practice to determine why my HCG would not drop below 5. A very small, microscopic protrustion was seen, possibly leftover fetal tissue, which Dr. Bruaer suspected may be the cause, but would not be an interruption for IVF treatment, and so treatment finally began in the new year of 2021 with a new deductible :) I was told my numbers were great, my retrieval would be textbook. I had an AMH of 3.48 and a cohort of 13 or so follicles (6-7 on either side). We began with one week of Alyacen birth control to stabilize my ovaries, followed by a moderate IVF stim cycle using Gonal F and Menopur (exact dosage: 150 Gonal F, 150 menopur). On day 5 of the stim cycle we introduced Cetrotide once a day in the daytime. Monitoring showed that I was responding perfectly to the stimulations, the follicles were growing synchronously and everything was moving along in "textbook" fashion. By day 10 of stims, I noticed watery discharge. I brought this to the attention of my nurses and Dr. Brauer on day 12 of stims when I had a huge gush of watery discharge which was very unusual for me along with dizziness and stomach troubles. No one seemed concerned. They advised these symptoms were normal. The discharge continued until retrieval day. We stimulated for 12 days. Then, I was given a trigger shot of Ovidrel (standard unit dosage) 36 hours before my scheduled retrieval. I went in for monitoring 12 hours after the trigger shot. I had very bad stomach pains by then. I notified the nurse. Again, no one seemed concerned, and so I assumed these were typical symptoms. By the morning of the retrieval I was in excruciating pain. I could barely sit. I could hardly walk. My ovaries were in severe pain, but also the top of my stomach. It did not feel normal, but I had nothing to compare it to. Dr. Brauer was not available for my retrieval, as she was away. My retrieval was performed by Dr. Singer. I have nothing good to say about Dr. Singer what-so-ever. The retrieval was a failure. Despite having 30+ follicles measuring synchronously, at least 20 of which were measuring 14mm or more prior to trigger, Dr. Singer was unprepared for my retrieval, coupled with ovulating too early. It was as if he had not even looked at my charts at all based on his replies to my spouse post retrieval. He was only able to retrieve 2 follicles. The nurse that was in the room with him said it appeared as though I had already ovulated. We know in hindsight, this is exactly what happened. Both follicles were mature, and fertilized, therefore we knew we could rule out empty follicle syndrome, but neither made it past the cavitation state into blasts. Fast foward to retrieval #2. No longer willing to work with Dr. Singer at all, who told us that if Dr. Brauer thought we would have better results than the 2 follicles obtained, she was mistaken, Dr. Brauer promised to perfom my retrieval and stood by her word. The protocol was longer, Alyacen birth control for 16 days, followed by 14 days of stims, introducing cetrotide again on day 5, but halfway through, Menopur was dropped to 75 ml vs. 150, and cetrotide doubled on day 9. We agreed to administer a mixed trigger shot of .8ml Lupron and 1500 HCG intramuscularly. Retrieval took place 36 hours after. I felt 100x better than the first time. I knew for sure then that something had gone wrong that first time and it was related to the trigger shot. The second retrieval was successful, 17 follicles collected, 15 mature, 12 fertilized, and 8 frozen (not tested). Dr. Brauer did say it was the second most difficult retrieval of her career due to my anatomy and the left ovary being wedged between two fibroids that measure about the size of the ovary when it's dormant. Our very first FET was a natural cycle since I ovulate regularly on my own. Alyacen birth control to manipulate timing due to a death in the family followed by monitoring natural ovulation cycle. PIO shots for 6 days, followed by transfer and continuation of PIO shots. Tested positive with HPT as early as day of. Beta confirmed positive pregnancy 9DP5DT w/ Beta at 288. At 8 week ultrasound, fetus measured behind, by 10 weeks, no cardiac activity and a D&C was performed at the clinic. Second transfer, also natural cycle, this time with a trigger shot, PIO shots for 6 days prior - implantation failure, Beta was 1.68 Third transfer, also natural cycle, trigger shot, PIO shots for 6 days prior to transfer, Positive HPT 7dp5dt, and Beta was positive but low on 9DP5DT at 30. fetus measured behind at 8 weeks. D&C performed outside of the clinic.

There is so much untapped potential at many of the larger clinics to find ways in which they can personalize treatment for the LGBTQIA+ community. The demand for fertility treatment is increasing. More queer people are seeking treatment rather than spending time, effort, money on at-home inseminations. The numbers would improve exponentially if that very community was not shuffled into this mix of predominantly infertile heterosexual women and given the same formula for success. Dr. Brauer, while seemingly open to same sex and queer fertility treatment, does not go out of her way with any particular nods of support or proclimations of being supportive of the queer community. There is a level of respect from her though.

Monitoring at SGF Manhattan was made easy. The hours generally go until 10AM, but on occassion, when necessary and if it could be accomodated, you could be seen until 11AM (though not preferable). This was a huge convenience for me and my long commute to the clinic and work hours. In addition, the monitoring hours are performed within a window, so while an appointment is advised, you could, if you had to, just show up.

We had a high duductible every year, and sometimes it seemed like the clinic tried to hold off on our procedures that could have taken place end of year when insurance would fully cover them for the new year. That aspect was definitely questionable, or just coincidence. However, our insurance covered the majority of the costs associated with our IVF retrievals and transfers. I do not recommend having genetics testing post D&C done with SGF who use NATERA. I would advise against it. We are still disputing charges with them and they are not efficient or helpful at all. As far as the out of pocket costs with SGF, I did look to see what our insurance was billed vs. what was paid, and the OOP expenses are definitely competitive. They are not as pricey as some other clinics, but not on the lower end either. They are average costs for IVF. However, SGF does offer programs that could be very beneficial for those paying OOP such as shared risk.

Dr. Brauer follows the recommendations set forth vby ASMR for eSET. In my particular case, due to PPROM, we never were keen on implanting more than one embryo at a time both because I was successfully implanting and wanted to give each embryo a chance on its own, but also because of the risks of a twin pregnancy with someone who already suffered PPROM at 18 weeks. However, I do believe if we sincerely wanted to and were okay with it, Dr. Brauer would have okayed multimpe embryo transfer of our untested embryos.

For as many patients that Dr. Singer had, I felt like I was the only one. He was available as needed and was always there to help guide me throughout the entire journey. He was very involved in the process and wanted to make sure I felt like I was in good hands.

No other clinic to go to!

My journey started with an in person visit for bloodwork to understand my AMH levels and a sonogram. Based on those results, Dr. Singer was able to formulate the right plan for me, including medication. I started off with two injections and a pill and then introduced a third during day 4/5. I then triggered on day 7/8. I went into the office frequently and Dr. Singer adjusted my medication intake as needed.

Monitoring was super easy - I always expect to wait around at doctors office and I typically get super impatient. I was a little worried about this going into the process knowing how frequently I would need to go into the office for monitoring. SGF never made me wait. I was always in and out and it was very easy. Again, made the process that much more enjoyable (without it actually being enjoyable, haha)

I believe it was around 7K for the procedure and then additional funds for the medicine and anesthesia.

Dr. Singer is optimistic, full of energy, and pays close attention to detail. During exams, he is delicate and relaxed while still providing the best medical care. He treated me with compassion and kindness. During the IUI, I was incredibly nervous. Dr. Singer took note, understood, and reacted as if I were his family. He was extra careful to make the IUI as painless as possible. He put on music, explained everything, and within minutes was done.

Dr. Singer sees many patients but will give you the time you need. Just be ready with your questions in advance so that you can tackle them when you do see him. Most importantly, trust him! He will lead you to where you want to go!

I have PCOS, so Dr. Singer put me on letrozole at the beginning of the cycle. He monitored the follicle growth and decided to wait until he saw more growth so he delayed the ovidrel/IUI piece and provided estradiol in the meantime. Then, a few days later, my husband administered the ovidrel shot and 36 hours later was the IUI. Post IUI, involved progesterone suppositories and estradiol. He closely monitors post IUI if there is a pregnancy.

insurance covered all except copay

I love that I see him for every visit, he is always very positive, unless there is a reason not to be, he is kind in bad news, but also very clear. He is always very matter of fact in his advice and treatment plans and is available and responsive.

Be ready to feel like part of the family, he is a wonderful man.

We have yet to start a treatment cycle with Dr. Singer, unfortunately as we need donor eggs and all donor cycles are on hold due to COVID-19 we are in a holding pattern. We are reviewing their frozen egg bank to see if there is a suitable donor there. He has us re-do all the testing from previous clinics with much additional to determine what protocols we should use including and ERA to determine exactly how much progesterone is needed for a transfer. None of the other doctors even suggested this test, we were planning to ask our last clinic. When discussing previous treatment protocols he is very clear about what is will and won't do based on science and his overall experience, other clinics have been very open to our suggestions which made us feel like we had to do the research and be the doctor.

We have been accepted into the Shared Risk Program with Shady Grove, but as we have not yet selected a donor we have not had to pay yet. If we do a 1:1 donor with the PGT-A testing the cost will be $77k excluding medications and that will cover up to 6 donors (and all the eggs that come from them) and all transfers until we take home a live child. If we don't or choose to give up then we get the $77k back. If we do the 2:1 then it would be $53k with the same as above except we would be splitting the eggs with another couple.

He has advised us that he would be most comfortable with eSET, but open to discussing the transfer of 2 embryos. Mostly because we would like to have two children. However, he is not strongly in favor due to the risk of the embryo and myself if a twin pregnancy does occur.

We went to Dr. Brauer after repeated failed IUI (4 times), and IVF (3 times) at a different center where the last cycle resulted in an ectopic pregnancy. We were diagnosed with unexplained infertility but seemed according to the embryologist unable to grow day-5 blastocytes. My wife was 37 and I was 47 at the time. We were desperate and had mixed expectation when we first reached out to Shady Grove. We were at a point in life where we had to consider backup options in our fertility journey. At first consultation, Dr. Brauer quickly put us at ease through a frank but encouraging assessment of our situation and a sound proposed path forward. She was warm, direct and transparent (which we desperately needed after multiple rounds of disappointment). We followed her advice with 2 wildly successful egg retrieval. That turned into 4 good quality frozen PGS normal day-5 embryos and 3 low-grade mosaics, one of whom is happily with us in a healthy week-13 pregnancy. Dr. Brauer is energetic, knowledgeable, and communicative. She gives honest feedback and is there to listen and support. She truly cares about her patients. Compared to multiple doctors (from other centers of excellence) we had before, Dr. Bauer has IVF expertise and clinical intuition head and shoulders above her peers’. She is supported by amazing staff (e.g., Debs) and embryologists (George) who are compassionate, caring and truly do magic. We cannot recommend her and her practice enough to other couples going through this challenging fertility process. Dr. Brauer and her office can be the long-awaited hope you have been looking for.

Infertility is never an easy journey but Dr. Setton is an amazing physician that does his best to make it "easier." He truly cares about his patients and is extremely easy to talk to about any and everything. He was an extreme source of knowledge, insights, and comfort during our journey and we were blessed to be cared for by him. I highly recommend him for anyone facing a difficult journey.

Absolutely loved Dr. Brauer and I've already recommended 4 friends to her who are currently undergoing or starting treatment. I am a very busy career lady myself as is Dr. Brauer so I really appreciated how she is no-BS and very direct. Loved her honesty throughout the whole process. I was over the moon at the results at the end which in part was because she managed my expectations the entire way through. She really does care and when I freaked out right before the retrieval she was concerned and took time to calm me down. All in all a very positive experience with great results for my elective embryo freezing!

Go to her! I started out at another popular clinic with a different doctor and did not like their energy. Made the switch right before injections and SO happy I did!

Costs for treatment and procedure, anesthesia, medicine at outside pharmacy (this was the big one - about $22k since I went through insurance), PGS genetic testing and storage.

Dr. Singer was easy to work with. He understood where.we were coming from. Explained success of IVF vs donor. But unfortunately he left the clinic we were working with. Afterwards the following steps to make decisions were in limbo.

We are still in the pre-clearance testing phase.

Challenging to have bills sent to and secondary insurance.

Did not reach this stage yet.

Dr Brauer didn't make me feel valid in my concerns or disappointment. Seemed solely focused on pushing additional cycles without explaining my current protocol. Often felt I had to chase the clinic for additional details and never felt certain who i was supposed to direct my questions to.

If you're looking for someone to sit with you and champion your journey, would not expect this here.

Did not include cost for storage/medications

When I first went to Dr. Brauer I wasn't sure exactly what I needed but I just had had a miscarriage and wanted to know all my options. She was extremely friendly and walked my through all of my options. She was supportive and friendly throughout everything.

I had 1 medicated cycle of clomid

insurance covered the majority.

I had such a positive experience from start to finish! I’ve already recommended Dr. Setton to several friends. He has a very warm and cheerful bedside manner, and is an excellent physician. His team was in contact with me every step of the way and my results exceeded my expectations. You will be in good hands here!

I met with three different offices (Weill Cornell, Spring, and SGF) because I’m the type of person that likes to be certain I’m getting the best care, and I’m so glad I chose Dr. Setton and SGF. The team is so wonderful, you will be treated like family and in a warm and supportive environment with excellent care!

The costs were coveted by my insurance, but when I initially looked I thought I’d be paying out of pocket and SGF was willing to work with me on the costs.

I saw Dr Anate Brauer in early 2022, and it was an unprofessional and questionably unethical experience. At 45 years old, never before pregnant, Dr. Brauer told me that it would be "unethical" for any doctor to try and help me undergo IVF due to my low AMH level. Equal parts adamant and appalled, I pressed her on it and she agreed to "reconsider" working with me, depending on my follicle count. Within two weeks, I was in her office undergoing monitoring on Day 3 of my next cycle and pleased to learn I had several follicles. However, instead of shifting her position, as she said she would, Dr Brauer doubled down on what she first said. Not only did she wrongly quote to me the number of follicles found by her nurses as "only a "few" follicles (again, 7 was the count), but she also then shifted the goal post yet again, citing my elevated FSH number as the reason it wasn't "ethical" to work with me. Luckily, I moved on from Shady Grove and found other doctors. In the end, I felt Dr Brauer wasn't interested in trying to support a complicated case as mine. Yet instead of suggesting I find a clinic with the experience to support me, she continually tried to discourage me from pursuing IVF altogether with her aforementioned comments. I felt as though the only thing she cared about in my case was preserving her success rate by steering me away from her clinic. However, her words could've killed my morale and caused me to give up my IVF journey before I ever began. I felt demoralized about my experience with Dr Brauer and do not recommend her.

If you have a challenging case, I would recommend you go elsewhere for support. Dr Brauer more than once discouraged me from attempting IVF based on an AMH of .11 and follicle count of 7, although I had never previously been pregnant.

Dr. Brauer is the only doctor we had who actually knew what a balanced translocation was. We appreciate that she flagged this as a problem. She's clearly very knowledgeable, but she wasn't able to help us, unfortunately.

We felt as though Dr. Brauer didn't have much time for us. So maybe inquire about her caseload and how busy she is, before signing on.

IVF and egg retrievals.

She did many of my ultrasounds herself when she was in office, and always made me feel so comfortable. Specifically, before going into each retrieval surgery, she always put a warmed blanket over me and made me feel so safe and cozy during such a vulnerable moment. It’s details like that (just one among many) that make her stand out as a truly incredible human and doctor.

Trust her, she’s wonderful.

I was on Cetritide, menopur and gonal F. I also did BCP priming before my cycles and before transfer.

She was the most kind doctor I have ever been to. I can't say enough good things about her and my experience. She held my hand throughout the entire experience and made me feel so safe. She was always available to speak with me and make me about anything at any time. Dr. Brauer is my most favorite doctor I have ever had and I’m so thankful to have met her.
