Dr. Schumacher is very personable, professional and clear with what to expect. She takes time to explain all procedures, options, benefits and risks in a way that is truly helpful. She reaches out to communicate directly and has been a very caring professional.

Can't say I have any advice, she did everything I'd expect a caring doctor to do.

We're using oral estrogen and PIO injections to prepare for a frozen embryo transfer via donor embryo.

We're doing a frozen embryo transfer via donor embryo program. The fees in total should be under $8k. Extremely reasonable.

SGF says their standard is almost always a single transfer to reduce the risk of multiples. As a former preemie parent, I recognize the importance of reducing the risk of multiples given the increased risk of prematurity. However, they still evaluate each case to be sure eSET is best given the circumstances. In our case, both embryos we have are healthy and theres no reason to justify trying multiple transfer and risking multiples.

I can't recommend him enough. He takes time to explain every step of treatment and why he's making any recommendations. He's open to questions or suggestions and was able to honestly evaluate my condition (even as it changed). He was easy to reach when necessary-even promptly answering emails on the weekend. I felt he personally cared about our success and happiness.

For our egg retrieval cycles we used a combination of injectables and growth hormone to provide a better egg quality. We did PGS testing to improve the odds of a successful transfer.

Dr Schumacher and her team were incredible! They were patient, encouraging and never gave up. Even when I thought it was hopeless, she would suggest a new course of action. Thanks to her and her amazing team, we have our beautiful daughter!

Listen to all options she has put in front of you. She is extremely knowledgeable and gives pros & cons for her suggestions.

I don't remember all of the medications I was on. But I do remember feeling like an emotional roller coaster. It's a lot to go through but worth it.

I loved the Shared Risk program that is offered. I took advantage of it and it was worth it!

He was excellent with explaining. He was very open and honest. I felt like he was blunt, which I do prefer. Dr. Sasson has wonderful bedside manner. He was always open to answering any questions I had.

Ask. Questions. Lots and lots of questions.

Everyone is so very different. Each protocol is going to vary. I personally had to use oral medication and 2 different injections.

Expensive. Overall the first round of IVF was around 28k. All transfers after that were around 5k, not including medications. We did have a chemical and Dr. Sasson offered $1,000 off which was nice.

ESET is Dr. Sassons preferred approach for my situation.

Dr. Schumacher was kind and explained in detail everything I needed to know in our first consult. She made me feel comfortable and never judged from the beginning. She was always available if I had questions or concerns and was my biggest support through this difficult journey. I cannot recommend her enough!!

Don’t hesitate to reach out with all the questions! It’s a very overwhelming experience with a lot of information to take in and Dr. Schumacher always explained things impeccably!

2 IUIs with Clomid and 2nd ended in unknown location which prompted us to move to IVF. After 2 IVF cycles, I finally received my 1 Pgt normal embryo and my FET worked!

Dr. Sasson made me feel comfortable and a part of his medical family. He took my concerns into consideration and easily made them a part of my treatment plan. He knows each of his unique patients/families. I was impressed with his thorough review of my medical history and infertility issues.

Always single at shady grove. Their studies have shown if the transfer is goin to result in pregnancy, it will do so regardless of quantity of embryo. So if you transfer 2, and get pregnant, you will have multiples.

Dr. Sasson is kind, gentle, and caring. He truly wants to help get his patients to a positive outcome. He is very honest and timely with all of his communication. During my initial consultation of 2 hours he took the time to explain things and to help me fully understand my treatment plan. He truly is an amazing human being.

He used an antagonist protocol. We did one egg retrieval, PGS testing, and three frozen embryo transfers resulting in 2 live births.

Listen to him and understand that he cares. He may be blunt with his details, but it’s better than sugarcoating!

His protocol for our upcoming IVF cycle is high medication stims in order to make me produce as many eggs as possible. Our previous clinic always shot for a few eggs.

After years elsewhere and feeling like dr's weren't listening, Dr. Sasson really took the time to make us feel seen and heard. He worked with us and our selected donor to get the best outcome possible and was supportive throughout the entire process. We did have some setbacks with the donor, but he called us each time and explained the setbacks himself, and our options. He was present and we were able to easily contact him when needed.

Be completely open with your expectations and wants. If you feel like you want to try something, speak up and advocate for yourself. He is very open to trying different things and will give you his honest opinion.

Dr. Sasson did suggest a single transfer given our previous complications.

There is no way we could have made it on this journey without Dr. Schumacher and her positivity. From the moment we met her virtually she made us feel comfortable to ask any questions and took her time with us to explain the entire IVF process. Dr. Schumacher also made contact and checked in before and after every procedure. The level of care was superlative. Following both of my two biochemical pregnancies Dr. Schumacher called me personally to check in and help us process the outcome. I was so overwhelmed with emotion, but also by her kindness to even think to reach out to me to not only comfort me but with her optimism encourage us to keep moving forward. And we did! With her guidance we adjusted the process - opting for a natural cycle - and are successfully pregnant. I tell everyone I know I wish Dr. Schumacher could take us through my entire pregnancy because she is nothing short of amazing!!

You are in great hands just stay positive

Dr.Sasson always put us first during the visit he wasn’t worried about the patient before or after me. He had good humor in a difficult situation, reassured me, and helped with our miracle boy! We can’t wait to go back for our second child. I drove an hour and 15 mins one way multiple times a week because Dr.Sasson made our dreams come true. I seen 4 other facilities and was told I have a zero chance of getting pregnant. Dr. Sasson said right off the bat that he would try his best and doesn’t think 0% chance was true.

Be patient, be open minded.

Frequent blood draws, pill form birth control, regulating my menstrual cycle, shots in my belly and buttox. Frequent internal ultrasounds. Husband sperm checks- seeing urology in MD to confirm. IVF retrieval and transfer.

Dr. Schumacher is a great doctor! She is very knowledgeable and kind. I just wish there was more time with her! Dr Schumacher does her best to keep communication open via emails and through the patient portal.

Dr. Schumacher is great but you may not see her often.

During the IUI cycles Dr. Schumacher has me taking clomid after an unsuccessful IUI and a cancelled IUI she switched up the type of medication I was taking. Dr Schumacher also prescribed other medications during the screening process that would increase fertility.

He is very personable, understanding and honest. He believed in my case and was willing to try a hard situation- after multiple bad cycles and being told my eggs weren’t good, his lab got me 3 good quality embryos! He gave me all the options and presented me with different ideas that no other doctor thought of. I appreciated his care and that he was willing to listen to my ideas as well

Dr. sasson came in on his day off to perform embryo transfer because he knew it was important to me and he was the one that participated in my mock transfer. The transfer was successful and I think it had everything to do with continuity in care.

Dr. Kallen was always available when we needed him. When we had questions he would respond. Furthermore, I loved his direct approach, and encouraging words. We traveled between two clinics-one close to our home and the other close to my work. 90% of my visits was handled by Dr. Kallen, which is impressive given the number of appointments I needed and the travel between the two clinics. Additionally, Dr. Kallen did not rush our process. He was careful and thoughtful. For example, after my retrieval and genetic testing, I was left with one embryo. The original plan was for me to begin the transfer process of our one embryo. Instead, doctor Kallen decided that I should engage the medication as if transferring the embryo, but instead they would take a biopsy of my endometrium lining to determine whether or not the medication protocol (which originally is based on the average woman's needs) was appropriate for my body. This was a difficult decision because it met that I had to give myself injections and wait an extra month for the actual transfer. The biopsy returned indicating that my medication protocol needed to be different from the average woman. At that moment, I felt most grateful to Dr. Kallen for encouraging us to follow the medication/biopsy process before the medication/transfer process. The extra month was well worth the wait. Our lone embryo was transferred resulting in a positive pregnancy test. Dr. Kallen performed the transfer with optimism and was the one to call with the positive pregnancy test. I was surprised and afraid at the same time to hear his voice and relieved to hear his good news. He sounded as happy as we were, which affirmed my belief that we were all working as a team. He gave all the credit to us. I know that without Dr. Kallen, my positive mindset and our good results would not have been possible. He always helped me to feel powerful and in control. For example, he often told us that we were doing great and that he is impressed with us. This positive reinforcement helped me to remain sane throughout this journey.

My issue with fertility is blocked tubes-one resulting in removal of the right tube due to ectopic pregnancy the year before. I began with medication protocol: July: Birth Control for a set number of day and daily injections in my belly (Gonal F & Menopur) after blood work and ultra sound, retrieval was scheduled. Once eggs were retrieved this was the most challenging time for me. Waiting for results regarding the growth and development of the eggs, then waiting for the genetic testing results. After it all, i had one Embryo which developed for 5 days before freezing. The next phase began medication for biopsy of my endometrium lining. The protocol began in August including: Birth Control, Estrace tab 2 mg PO 3 for approximately two weeks, blood work/ultrasound, first day of Estrace, Progesterone in oil 50mg 1 mL in AM and PM, continued with Estrace and Progestrone shots in the buttock for 5 days. Biopsy followed. September we followed the same protocol adding an extra day of Estrace and Progestrone as the biopsy indicated I needed. Embryo transfer followed. October 10th blood test scheduled giving us a positive result. We continued with Shady Grove for weekly ultra sounds until 10 weeks. I then moved to my OB/GYN doctors for the remainder of my pregnancy.

Dr. Kallen believed strongly that we only transfer one embryo for our first cycle. It would not have mattered for us anyway because I only had one embryo to transfer.

Dr. Schumacher was always very compassionate and upbeat while also being realistic and straightforward with her information and thoughts on our possible outcomes. Half of our visits were virtual vs in person (which was partially due to my husband and my schedule). I was glad to have her as my doctor during our embryo transfer and as one of my last OB appointments before graduating from Shady Grove, because though we only met her in person a handful of times, she immediately made us feel comfortable. I never felt rushed during appointments or like a burden for asking many questions, and she always listened thoughtfully and gave responses based on current evidence and her own experiences. I had done a lot of research on my own after learning about my endometriosis diagnosis, and Dr. Schumacher never pressured me into a specific protocol and was very open to other suggestions.

Do not expect to hear from Dr. Schumacher during your more frequent appointments. The nurses take over most of that care with the guidance of your doctors. However, you can always have them ask your doctor a question or request another appointment with them.

We did more of a straightforward approach since it was my first cycle. For my egg retrieval I used Follistim, Menopur, and Ganirelix with a Lupron trigger. For my FET I was debating between doing a lupron cycle due to my endo, however we ended up getting way more quality embryos than expected with 5/6 being genetically normal. My transfer regimen- 1.5ml progesterone (increased dose due to endo) starting 5 days before transfer, Estrace 2 mg PO 3x daily starting 3 weeks before transfer, then also adding Estrace 2 mg vaginally 2x daily 2 weeks before transfer. I continued the progesterone and both route of estrace until I was 10 weeks.

We chose to do a single transfer due to increased risk of multiples. Also we had our embryos genetically tested and had no reason (due to age or poor quality embryos) to transfer more than one.
