Attention to Detail

Attention to detail is on a 1 - 10 scale, and is scored based on the rate, and severity, of errors committed by the clinic according to the patients.

For example, a severe error might be failing to inform a patient of critical information, while a small error might be failing to call a patient with results.

CDC Success Rates

This is the most recent data from the CDC. The CDC cautions that it should not be used to compare doctors and clinics. This data represents the outcomes of IVF cycles when using a person's own eggs.

For more information please see our FAQs.

Where you see a “?” on the chart, a clinic has done fewer than 20 cycles in this category and age range, so the CDC says showing percentages from this small data set would be misleading and unreliable.

Dr. Foulk allowed me to be me and talk with my true emotions...He never once dismissed any of my concerns and fears...During my 2nd round of hormone treatments, Dr. Foulk was determined to make sure I make it to egg retrieval. He increased my doses slowly & we saw results...he understood my religious approach with going forward with a transfer...He really takes the time to go over everything with you and is very open on trying different approaches...Due to the quality of my eggs always coming back as "abnormal" after PGS testing, Dr. Foulk was not against doing multiple embryo transfers
[Nevada Fertility Center nurse and staff] They were so compassionate and understanding that no question( regardless if I thought it was a little dumb ) went unanswered... I had additional fees to consider such as using a donor sperm...I was a participant who won 50% off a frozen IVF cycle and I was also part of the CLARA clinical trial so my out of pocket expenses weren't too much...my first round of Frozen IVF w/ the 50% discount came out to about $7000. Each egg retrieval was around $450...The only negative/weakness is the waiting for the call back for results
How was your experience with Russell Foulk at Nevada Fertility Center (Ivy Fertility Network clinic)?
Dr. Foulk is honest, patient, and amazing. The only thing I would say that is negative is that he travels from the clinic in Las Vegas and Utah so it is hard to schedule an appointment. But when I do have the chance to sit with him, no matter the outcome he is always there with a smile on his face and his tone of voice always gives me so much hope. He really takes the time to go over everything with you and is very open on trying different approaches. I have yet to hear him decline or laugh at my crazy ideas. As one of his patients, I cannot express how much I am grateful to put this dream of mine in his hands.
What's one piece of advice would you give a prospective patient of Russell Foulk at Nevada Fertility Center (Ivy Fertility Network clinic)?
Go into your first visit with an open mind. Don't expect everything to happen at once, but once the ball starts rolling Dr. Foulk & his staff will be by your side 1000%. Dr. Foulk is also a very patient & knowledgeable man. So if you have questions, I would ask away.
During treatment, were you treated like a number or a human with Russell Foulk at Nevada Fertility Center (Ivy Fertility Network clinic)?
Dr. Foulk allowed me to be me and talk with my true emotions. Even with tears running down my cheeks he and his staff has been amazing throughout my fertility journey. Unlike a doctor at a clinic, he never dismissed you when you walked passed. He always had a smile and greeted you even if he was rushing through the office between patients. Dr. Foulk also listened to everything I had to say. He never once dismissed any of my concerns and fears. I love his motto: "I was meant to be a mom.." and I am so happy that he is as determined as I am to make this dream for me come true.
Describe the protocols Russell Foulk used in your cycles at Nevada Fertility Center (Ivy Fertility Network clinic) and their degree of success.
My body always seemed to fail me when it came down to my hormones. It was never where it needed to be. During my 2nd round of hormone treatments, Dr. Foulk was determined to make sure I make it to egg retrieval. He increased my doses slowly & we saw results.
Describe your experience with your nurse at Nevada Fertility Center (Ivy Fertility Network clinic). (Assigned nurse: Kimberly Ealy & Chelsy Foulk)
The staff is so amazing! Since I was going there for over a year, I created this amazing bond with them. If I hit a rough patch they were there with me and when I cried they cried. When it was time to celebrate they were right there with me showering me with hugs! I couldn't ask for anything more from them. They were so compassionate and understanding that no question ( regardless if I thought it was a little dumb ) went unanswered. They were even there when I needed help with my shots! I was able to call the nurse ( Kim ) at 8 AM on the dot and she walked me through hands shaking and all!! Then when I struggled with my additional shots my other nurse ( Chelsy ) was right there to help me with the additional shots and re-assured me that I was doing everything correct. The staff is always filled with positive energy and they always made every visit no matter how nerve racking it was .. smooth.
Describe your experience with Nevada Fertility Center (Ivy Fertility Network clinic).
I think I have said so much about how much I love the staff at the clinic. The only negative/weakness is the waiting for the call back for results. That would only be the hardest thing for me. Other than that I have not had any negative experiences. Even the receptionist is amazing!
Describe your experience with your monitoring appointments at Nevada Fertility Center (Ivy Fertility Network clinic).
I never had issues with any of my appointments. They were always set based as close to my availability as possible and I never had to wait too long to be taken to the back. There were a few times when they were running behind, but it was never bad to where I noticed anything.
Describe the costs associated with your care under Russell Foulk at Nevada Fertility Center (Ivy Fertility Network clinic).
I was a participant who won 50% off a frozen IVF cycle and I was also part of the CLARA clinical trial so my out of pocket expenses weren't too much. I had additional fees to consider such as using a donor sperm, but I think they weren't too bad. Total for my first round of Frozen IVF w/ the 50% discount came out to about $7000. Each egg retrieval was around $450 for the anesthesia which had to be paid separate and on the day of the retrieval and the monthly cost for storage is $60.
Describe Russell Foulk's approach to eSET (elective single embryo transfer) vs. multiple embryo transfer at Nevada Fertility Center (Ivy Fertility Network clinic).
Due to the quality of my eggs always coming back as "abnormal" after PGS testing, Dr. Foulk was not against doing multiple embryo transfers. I also appreciated the fact that he understood my religious approach with going forward with a transfer that contained "abnormal" embryos.

The doctor [Dr. Mark Johnson] was always so kind and interested in you and your family. He remember certain things about me and I felt like he got to know me and my husband as a person...Great bedside manner and compassionate care for his patients. He is well educated and explained everything ever step of the way and was there to answer any question that I had...we had male factor infertility, so he prescribed me low dosages of the medications. I was grateful for this as it not only saved me money but I didn't have any bad experiences or reactions with any of the mediations.
They [Sher Fertility of Las Vegas] are very organized from the beginning. They describe everything well and provide you with a detail calendar to follow and what to expect. Any questions I had I was able to contact staff or the doctor and received a response the same day or if not they next day. My nurse is always available by email which made it super easy to communicate all my questions...my supervisors were flexible with me and my schedule. They allowed me to come in later so I could schedule my monitoring for first thing in the morning. I felt that it ran pretty smoothly never felt like there was a huge line or wait. I did notice on the day of retrieval and transfer there were many women waiting in the lobby. This was due to everyone's cycle being scheduled together.

He [Dr. Sher] was present at every appointment, unfortunately that did not prove out to be a positive for me. It has taken several years for me to come to terms with the fact that I felt violated repeatedly during my pelvic ultrasounds...would sit between my legs, and instead of asking me to "scooch forward a few inches", would grab my hips/butt and pull me toward him. This happened on multiple occasions. When you are going through IVF you're already in such a vulnerable situation, I just ignored i
[The staff at Nevada Fertility Center] are well organized and very kind. They are responsible for a large number of patients who are in-cycle, which I think makes it feel like they are stretched a little thin at times. Nevertheless, I have never had an issue getting a response from them. To be noted, the nursing team has had significant turnover and I do not believe any of the nurses who were present when I was treated work there anymore.
How was your experience with Geoffrey Sher at Nevada Fertility Center (Ivy Fertility Network clinic)?
I did 4 retrievals and 1 transfer with Dr. Sher at his Nevada clinic. He was present at every appointment, unfortunately that did not prove out to be a positive for me. It has taken several years for me to come to terms with the fact that I felt violated repeatedly during my pelvic ultrasounds. I've had dozens of pelvic ultrasounds with other doctors and they always stand to my side when inserting the probe. Dr. Sher would sit between my legs, and instead of asking me to "scooch forward a few inches", would grab my hips/butt and pull me toward him. This happened on multiple occasions. When you are going through IVF you're already in such a vulnerable situation, I just ignored it and didn't realize how violating this was until I found a doctor that truly respects my body autonomy and the importance of medical consent. Another big disappointment came when I realized the published success rates on the CDC site for my age & diagnosis were SIGNIFICANTLY lower than the success rates he quoted for me at our initial consult. Success rates from person-to-person and clinic-to-clinic can be hard to compare, but the lack of consistency was a major red flag. During our initial consult he told me roughly 70% chance of success, on the day of my transfer he told me "50/50 shot" (this transfer of 2 euploid embryos resulted in a chemical pregnancy) - and then the published success rates for my year of treatment indicated roughly 29% live birth rate in my age bracket. This was a major red flag to me.
What's one piece of advice would you give a prospective patient of Geoffrey Sher at Nevada Fertility Center (Ivy Fertility Network clinic)?
I would proceed with caution. He has a very convincing pitch and his ideas around protocols sound good, but ultimately my results were absolutely nothing like what he projected they would be.
During treatment, were you treated like a number or a human with Geoffrey Sher at Nevada Fertility Center (Ivy Fertility Network clinic)?
Things started out really well with Dr. Sher, but eventually did go downhill. I felt incredibly optimistic about him after our first Skype consult. He made me feel really special and important. He continued to be warm and friendly throughout treatment, but after a while I started to lose confidence in the quality of the plan. Dr. Sher gave me his cell phone number and always reminded me I could call any time - I was really heartbroken when I did actually call and he rushed me off the phone telling me to just call the office instead.
Describe the protocols Geoffrey Sher used in your cycles at Nevada Fertility Center (Ivy Fertility Network clinic) and their degree of success.
Dr. Sher had me on the agonist-antagonist conversion protocol for low AMH. It was a very expensive and high dose protocol (starting with 600u of FSH). Since leaving the practice, I have spoken with other physicians and seen research that suggests the doses he used were entirely inappropriate and potentially harmful to my outcome. On this protocol, I had the highest number of mature eggs retrieved that I've had on any other protocol but the lowest number of euploid blastocysts. Getting a lot of eggs is not very helpful when you don't end up with usable embryos in the end.
Describe your experience with the nursing staff at Nevada Fertility Center (Ivy Fertility Network clinic).
The nurses are incredibly responsive and normally respond to emails within a day. They are well organized and very kind.
Describe your experience with Nevada Fertility Center (Ivy Fertility Network clinic).
The clinic is under new management and has a different staff now than when I was treated. I recently went in to sign paperwork and did not recognize a single person working there. One thing I remember (and am not sure if they've changed) is a large whiteboard near the nursing station that says the names of every patient coming in that day and why they were coming. This was clearly visible to any patient who walked to the bathroom at the clinic. The operative suite where egg retrievals happened felt dated and overall the clinic didn't have the bells and whistles some the newer clinics do.
Describe the costs associated with your care under Geoffrey Sher at Nevada Fertility Center (Ivy Fertility Network clinic).
We bought a package through Attain. Our cost was around $23,000 for two retrievals and unlimited FETs until we bring home a baby, this package has now expired and did not result in a live birth. The package included PGT biopsy, but not the testing, did not include anesthesia or egg freezing and storage. Anesthesia was required to be paid the day of the retrieval by check or cash.
Describe Geoffrey Sher's approach to eSET (elective single embryo transfer) vs. multiple embryo transfer at Nevada Fertility Center (Ivy Fertility Network clinic).
He recommended transferring 2 PGT-A euploid embryos for me at age 29, which goes against ASRM recommendations.
What specific things went wrong at Nevada Fertility Center (Ivy Fertility Network clinic)?
  • Lost appointments
Describe the specific things that went wrong at Nevada Fertility Center (Ivy Fertility Network clinic).
I was given the wrong time for a phone meeting at one time, which caused me to wait by the phone for an hour unnecessarily.

Dr. Foulk is kind, patient, and honest...He answers all my questions without rushing me...He is honest about risks and treatment and still helps us feel hope for our situation...For my specific situation [he] and his team recommended a single embryo transfer...Though they stated the risks of multiples they still allowed us as a family to choose...and the second transfer we just did and elected to implant two embryos...
Strengths [of Nevada Fertility Center]: quick and thorough responses, kindness and warmth, cleanliness, calmness, quick appointments but never rush me out, and a family like environment...office giving clear and honest information [regarding ESET approach] and then letting us make our own choices is invaluable...[nursing staff] answer every question with detail, patience, and care. In sad or scary situations they help you feel calm and hopeful. We love them!
How was your experience with Russell Foulk at Nevada Fertility Center (Ivy Fertility Network clinic)?
Dr. Foulk is kind, patient, and honest. He has made us feel safe in his presence from the get go! He answers all my questions without rushing me or making me feel silly. He is honest about risks and treatment and still helps us feel hope for our situation. He has helped us feel calm and happy during each of our procedures! We are so hopeful that he will help us bring all of our children into the world. So far we have one baby girl and are awaiting our pregnancy test for our second child!
What's one piece of advice would you give a prospective patient of Russell Foulk at Nevada Fertility Center (Ivy Fertility Network clinic)?
Ask him all your questions! Tell him all the feedback given to you from other healthcare providers. He will respond to everything and help you figure things out.
During treatment, were you treated like a number or a human with Russell Foulk at Nevada Fertility Center (Ivy Fertility Network clinic)?
Dr. Foulk and his team are angels. They have helped me feel so safe and cared for every time I have been in their office or in contact with them! They respond quickly, never making me feel like an inconvenience and with sincere attention. Every person in the office makes me feel like I am their patient and they know me even if I can’t remember if they have treated me before. Having been to other offices this was very important for me when choosing our care provider. We love NFC and would go to them even if we lived out of state.
Describe the protocols Russell Foulk used in your cycles at Nevada Fertility Center (Ivy Fertility Network clinic) and their degree of success.
We did an egg retrieval. I took gonal-F, menopur, cetrotide, prenatals and a baby aspirin. I produce I think 30 or more eggs? 24 that were a healthy size for retrieval I think? And then 15 ended up being healthy and frozen for FET. I’ve done two FETs with them now. Both times using progesterone in oil, estradiol valerate, doxycycline, methylprednisolone, progesterone suppository, lovenox, a valium, prenatals and baby aspirin.
Describe your experience with your nurse at Nevada Fertility Center (Ivy Fertility Network clinic). (Assigned nurse: Chelsy Foulk)
ANGELS. Absolutely angelic, calm, caring, and funny. I can’t say enough of this team. The journey of infertility is heartbreaking, scary, and at first unknown. This practice was not the first fertility practice we went to and the difference was the reason we switched to get our treatment and care from NFC. We love them. They answer every question with detail, patience, and care. In sad or scary situations they help you feel calm and hopeful. We love them!
Describe your experience with Nevada Fertility Center (Ivy Fertility Network clinic).
Strengths: quick and thorough responses, kindness and warmth, cleanliness, calmness, quick appointments but never rush me out, and a family like environment. I can’t think of any weaknesses, only thing I can think of is I wish they had a Henderson location! They are a little far for us.
Describe the costs associated with your care under Russell Foulk at Nevada Fertility Center (Ivy Fertility Network clinic).
3,000-3,300 for FET, roughly 12,000 for retrieval, and there were more costs I can’t remember. Medications and embryo testing.
Describe Russell Foulk's approach to eSET (elective single embryo transfer) vs. multiple embryo transfer at Nevada Fertility Center (Ivy Fertility Network clinic).
For my specific situation Dr. Foulk and his team recommended a single embryo transfer. They were very thorough in explaining risks of multiples and made recommendations when I asked! We transferred 1 embryo our first transfer we ended in a full term successful pregnancy and the second transfer we just did and elected to implant two embryos. My comment is that their team is incredible, caring and treated us with respect. Though they stated the risks of multiples they still allowed us as a family to choose and I think that shows how much they value their patients and respect the impact having to do this process has on their family. I had consulted with several different practices and was surprised to hear they wouldn’t even allow me to make that choice on my own. Dr. Foulk’s office giving clear and honest information and then letting us make our own choices is invaluable.

Dr Foulk welcomes you with a warm smile. Explains everything based on your life and experiences...We transferred our sperm and embryos over there so all [he] did was a water ultrasound and transfer for us. We were so hopeful and so was he but unfortunately we had a chemical/miscarriage...So respectfully to the point they never really addressed our same sex marriage besides when they had to mention the donor sperm
We did our egg retrieval at a different clinic so all we did was transfer our embryos to [Nevada Fertility Center] . So only thing we had to pay for was a transfer and it was so much cheaper than what we were used to paying at another clinic,,,They didn’t treat my wife and I any different being LGBTQ...Every nurse was so kind and compassionate. Especially our nurse Sage...I don’t know how she has a life outside of the office because she was there any hour of the day that I needed her

While we have only interacted with Dr. Foulk during our consult and any surgeries or retrievals, he has always been very kind, doesn't rush us during our appointments and is very thorough in explaining everything to us. He has great bedside manner and is consistently positive while being honest...He was very positive in the consult and gave us the time of day after a urologist told my husband he would never be able to have kids. Every single appointment has been amazing with him and his whole staff.
The [Nevada Fertility Center] staff is amazing, the client portal to access everything you need is so nice to have, and I appreciate them being on top of everything. The only weakness is the finance side as I felt there were a few things not explained to us as well, which caused more money out of our pocket than we expected
How was your experience with Russell Foulk at Nevada Fertility Center (Ivy Fertility Network clinic)?
While we have only interacted with Dr. Foulk during our consult and any surgeries or retrievals, he has always been very kind, doesn't rush us during our appointments and is very thorough in explaining everything to us. He has great bedside manner and is consistently positive while being honest.
What's one piece of advice would you give a prospective patient of Russell Foulk at Nevada Fertility Center (Ivy Fertility Network clinic)?
There are no dumb questions! Ask every single question you have - I had personal questions related to my husband and I, as well as questions from my own research via Google and Facebook Groups.
During treatment, were you treated like a number or a human with Russell Foulk at Nevada Fertility Center (Ivy Fertility Network clinic)?
From the moment we met Dr. Foulk, he treated us like we had been patients forever. He was very positive in the consult and gave us the time of day after a urologist told my husband he would never be able to have kids. Every single appointment has been amazing with him and his whole staff.
Describe the protocols Russell Foulk used in your cycles at Nevada Fertility Center (Ivy Fertility Network clinic) and their degree of success.
My husband has azoospermia, so he underwent surgery to extract sperm, then I went on 150IU Follistim and 75IU Menopur. Week of retrieval I also added in 250 MCG Ganirelix and 1500IU Pregnyl / 81IU Lupron a day or two before egg retrieval. In the midst of my FET, currently, and doing Estradial and Progesterone.
Describe your experience with your nurse at Nevada Fertility Center (Ivy Fertility Network clinic). (Assigned nurse: Melissa Jordan)
The entire staff at my clinic is amazing. They truly care, are friendly, happy to answer questions, and always available. Melissa is so wonderful and honestly with how emotional and financially straining this process can be, it has been so wonderful to have access to her.
Describe your experience with Nevada Fertility Center (Ivy Fertility Network clinic).
The staff is amazing, the client portal to access everything you need is so nice to have, and I appreciate them being on top of everything. The only weakness is the finance side as I felt there were a few things not explained to us as well, which caused more money out of our pocket than we expected. (i.e. - thawing my husbands sperm to create the embryos - which was going to be necessary since day one but they didn't add it into our overall price).
Describe the costs associated with your care under Russell Foulk at Nevada Fertility Center (Ivy Fertility Network clinic).
We were self-pay - $12,300 for Egg Retrieval Cycle, $3,300 for FET, $1100 for Sperm Extraction Surgery, $500 for each anesthesia treatment (2x for us), $4,000 in medication so far (and not done with my FET cycle). We will be close to $25,000.

Dr. Peterson and Kim the nurse practitioner have both been very personable and invested in my care...While being personable he is also honest and realistic. When I asked questions he responded with evidence-based answers and references studies...Dr. Peterson allowed me to give my opinion on whether or not I continued my cycle when there were multiple eggs just prior to ovulation...
All of the staff [at Nevada Fertility Center] has been outstanding. Kim [NP] did most of my exams and ultrasounds. April and Maribel were often the ones greeting me and placing me in a room. Both were very prompt whenever I called or messaged them on the app. Ronnie at the front desk is always friendly, helpful and somehow remembers my name each time...
How was your experience with Kurt Peterson at Nevada Fertility Center (Ivy Fertility Network clinic)?
All of my monitoring appointments except for one were with Kim, Dr. Peterson's NP. The one that was not with Kim was done by another NP in the office. At nearly all my appointments Dr. Peterson was in his office and available if needed. Kim is compassionate, detailed, takes the time to explain everything, and was always prompt in getting back to me whenever I messaged with questions. Whether on the phone or in-person I felt cared for.
What's one piece of advice would you give a prospective patient of Kurt Peterson at Nevada Fertility Center (Ivy Fertility Network clinic)?
He is very personable (even over telemed). While being personable he is also honest and realistic. When I asked questions he responded with evidence-based answers and references studies.
During treatment, were you treated like a number or a human with Kurt Peterson at Nevada Fertility Center (Ivy Fertility Network clinic)?
Dr. Peterson and Kim the nurse practitioner have both been very personable and invested in my care. This is night and day compared to the previous clinic I was at.
Describe the protocols Kurt Peterson used in your cycles at Nevada Fertility Center (Ivy Fertility Network clinic) and their degree of success.
I had two IUI cycles with Kim and Dr. Peterson. With both Letrozole 5mg x 5 days was used. Both cycles my lining was thin and I was prescribed Estrace 2mg. We used ultrasound monitoring and an HCG trigger shot for ovulation. Following IUI I was prescribed Progesterone until my blood draw for the pregnancy test.

Describe your experience with Nevada Fertility Center (Ivy Fertility Network clinic).
Strengths - personable, good about explaining the process, prompt in getting back to me. The clinic was never overcrowded and I never waited more than 10 min for my appointment. Weakness - as strange as it sounds I wished they collected my copay each time I went. A couple of times I offer to pay but was told they would wait for insurance and the copays added up. I would rather pay each time to avoid this.
Describe the costs associated with your care under Kurt Peterson at Nevada Fertility Center (Ivy Fertility Network clinic).
IUI was covered by my HPN insurance so there was little for me. I have a meeting with the financial department to discuss the cost of IVF. IVF seems to be far more responsible than other clinics in town.
Describe Kurt Peterson's approach to eSET (elective single embryo transfer) vs. multiple embryo transfer at Nevada Fertility Center (Ivy Fertility Network clinic).
I do not have any comments about this however I can say that Dr. Peterson and Kim were far more willing to troubleshoot my cycles as issues developed. Additionally, Dr. Peterson allowed me to give my opinion on whether or not I continued my cycle when there were multiple eggs just prior to ovulation. The previous clinic canceled my cycles for issues such as a 9mm cyst and a thin uterine lining. Dr. Peterson and Kim explained the issue or prescribed medications to help.

Dr. Peterson seemed open and enthusiastic about helping me and my husband start our family. He was honest about this experience working with gay couples and answered all our questions to the best of his ability. We never felt rushed or othered during our conversation...seemed enthusiastic about helping us 2 gay guys start our family
[Nevada Fertility Center] Front desk and all the staff were super friendly and helpful. You could tell they primarily served heterosexual clients but we never felt awkward or uncomfortable interacting with anyone at the clinic being a gay male couple. The front desk and nurses that took our blood/semen samples were all friendly and professional.
How was your experience with Kurt Peterson at Nevada Fertility Center (Ivy Fertility Network clinic)?
Super personable and seemed enthusiastic about helping us 2 gay guys start our family. He was honest about his conservative upbringing in Utah but admits to having since grown after being exposed to more gay people. We liked the honesty and openness he seemed to exude during that initial meeting.
What's one piece of advice would you give a prospective patient of Kurt Peterson at Nevada Fertility Center (Ivy Fertility Network clinic)?
Feel free to ask questions. Dr. Peterson was very patient and never made us feel like we were asking a 'dumb' question or one with an obvious answer.
During treatment, were you treated like a number or a human with Kurt Peterson at Nevada Fertility Center (Ivy Fertility Network clinic)?
Dr. Peterson seemed open and enthusiastic about helping me and my husband start our family. He was honest about this experience working with gay couples and answered all our questions to the best of his ability. We never felt rushed or othered during our conversation.
Describe the protocols Kurt Peterson used in your cycles at Nevada Fertility Center (Ivy Fertility Network clinic) and their degree of success.
We did initial blood work and sperm screenings. My husband's sample was accepted and frozen but mine had no sperm count (due to a previous testosterone therapy). Dr. Peterson prescribed me some medications to help with sperm production and we were going to check again in a few months.
Describe your experience with your nurse at Nevada Fertility Center (Ivy Fertility Network clinic). (Assigned nurse: Crystal Rosburg)
Crystal is amazing. She is our primary point of contact at the clinic because she specializes in 3rd Party reproductive patients. She is a previous gestational carrier having carried siblings for a gay couple. She knows her stuff and answers emails/questions quickly.

Describe the costs associated with your care under Kurt Peterson at Nevada Fertility Center (Ivy Fertility Network clinic).
They have different packages but specifically have one tailored to gay male couples that has unlimited embryo transfers guaranteed until a birth occurs which they made sure to emphasize because other clinics don't have this.
Describe Kurt Peterson's approach to eSET (elective single embryo transfer) vs. multiple embryo transfer at Nevada Fertility Center (Ivy Fertility Network clinic).
He seemed to strongly prefer eSET because of the safety of both the fetus and the gestational carrier.
How competent was Nevada Fertility Center (Ivy Fertility Network clinic) at LGBTQ+ care?
Its still early in the process but so far no red flags.
Describe your experience using 3rd party reproduction (donor eggs, donor sperm, or gestational carrier) at Nevada Fertility Center (Ivy Fertility Network clinic).
We aren't at the step of using donor eggs yet but we're considering using their pool. Because they source their eggs from their Utah branch, they claim to have a large ~300 donor pool to choose from. They do not source gestational carriers.

Dr Foulk is very soft spoken and kind. We asked a lot of questions about our failed transfer and he took the time to address each question and make sure we knew our options. He listened to our concerns and gave us the best next steps to looking into additional testing...It was more affordable for us to have him do my hysteroscopy and polyp removal than to go through our insurance. His transfer prices are also fair and reasonable.
[the Nevada Fertility Center nurse] was always available to speak with and ask questions. I would call and leave her a message and be contacted within the hour...The clinic runs smoothly. From making the first appointment, to finances and the insurance team. the front desk [staff] is always happy and greets us with a smile. The insurance verification team is amazing..

Describe the protocols Russell Foulk used in your cycles at Nevada Fertility Center (Ivy Fertility Network clinic) and their degree of success.
We switched to Dr Foulk after going through an egg retrieval, ERA and hysteroscopy/polyp removal with another clinic. Due to the ERA being done at the old clinic, we decided to keep the natural stimulated transfer cycle like the old clinic had me do. Unfortunately it resulted in a failed transfer

The insurance verification team is amazing! They make sure to run pre auths for needed procedures and have our copays figured out for us when we are there. Tina in finance is so kind and helpful. Dr. Foulk was warm yet informative. He told me what was happening with my body but it was never like it was a bad thing. He always wanted to find a solution...rather than focus on negative it was always here is what we should do to accomplish our goal...It's a scary process but he'll find your answers. My favorite thing he says if when we make your family not if. He's that confident... Every time it was genuine care, concern. Explain everything as we approached. It really eased my mind.
The [Nevada Fertility Center] clinics strengths is their compassion and commitment to their patients. Every person that comes in wants a family and they want to help them accomplish that. They want to figure out why it's not happening naturally and then come up with solutions. I honestly cannot think of a single weakness...Every staff member we encountered was so friendly and you could tell they wanted us to succeed in making a family. Kim specifically knew our case and became a friend during it all.

I had an hsg done and it determined I had one tube blocked. And I also have low egg egg count. So he put me on clomid and I would go in on the first day of my cycle to see where my follicles were and which side I would ovulate on. If my follicle count was low or I ovulated on the blocked side we would wait until the next month to try for the IUi. He never wanted me to go through with the procedure if it wasn't the best odds for my body.

After a failed IUI with another provider, he [Dr. Foulk] met with me on a Sunday and reassured me he had a plan and I would be pregnant in the coming few months. He knew exactly what protocol to use and didn’t send me for unnecessary testing. He considered our willingness to be aggressive. We didn’t want a conservative approach and he was willing to comply. I loved that the most. He didn’t want to waste time and he understood my impatience after years of TTC.
Dr. Foulk and his staff [at Nevada Fertility Center] took to me quickly. By the 2nd appointment, everyone knew my name and my story and by month 3 of treatment, I considered them friends. I was tended to immediately after each concern and was given after hour contact info which I used very frequently to ease my mind...[the nurses] took care of me, gave me direction and motivation. They texted me after hours and celebrated each victory with me. The staff was never too busy for a question, a repeat blood draw (I had 12 in 20 days to check on levels) or adjusting meds. All my questions to Dr. Foulk’s NP, Kim Carter, we’re immediately directed to the doctor when he was out of state (he has a few clinics in the nation) and I had an answer in minutes in most cases. All lab results were provided within 4 hrs from blood draw (this is record timing). Just feel so lucky I experienced this with them.

2 “weaknesses” 1. Front desk doesn’t always answer phone promptly (I think they’re phone system is being upgraded now). 2. Dr. Foulk is at practice only 1 week/month so if you HAVE to see the doc, it may be scheduled further out than you’d like. Strengths: Staff are compassionate and the most educated group of girls. Dr. Foulk is so up-to-date that I didn’t feel like “he could be doing more”. Availability from early morning hours which is convenient so you don’t have to take time from work or go after hours.

Dr. Foulk is always willing to give you a call after every treatment no matter the outcome. To touch bases again and to talk about next options or just give encouraging words...treats you like family. He is clear with his explanations, goals for your treatments, and diagnosis...He is extremely personable and understands the struggles that we are going through...We started the cycle with planning to do timed intercourse, but ended up wanting to do IUI. Since my follicles werent maturing, we cancelled the cycle and I then took provera to start my period and try again a different treatment plan. The next month I started taking metformin to help with my insulin resistant PCOS. We did letrozole and injectibles. My follicles finally grew, but my IUI was unsuccessful. Due to the pandemic, we took a month off and will go back when my next period starts.
I spent more on medication than I did on the actual IUI [at Nevada Fertility Center]. I spent $1,100 on my IUI. I spent almost $2,000 on the clomid, letrozole, and follistims...The staff is all so friendly and accommodating. They treat you like family. The are extremely understanding and will help with whatever you need help with. I am a teacher and I teach during the hours that they are open, they are always willing to move things around to help you get in for an appointment. They are thorough with what you need to do. They do step by step instructions for injectibles and give you a calendar so you know what to do and when to do it. They treat you like you matter.

I spent more on medication than I did on the actual IUI. I spent $1,100 on my IUI. I spent almost $2,000 on the clomid, letrozole, and follistims.

I definitely felt he [Dr. Foulk] reviewed our specifics carefully and looked to see what he could do to make a difference this time ... He took the time to explain his thinking and didn't push us into anything. He showed empathy and tried to do what he could to work around our schedule & budget. On cycle day he sat and talked with me after the procedure longer than necessary.
Recently billing has been less transparent and hidden charges have been billed but generally they are great ... Everyone [at Sher Fertility of LV] is well-organized, friendly, & attentive. It's easy to find and while you're there for treatment there's plenty to do in LV to keep your mind occupied. Pricing is generally transparent which is helpful and they are just so easy to work with.
How was your experience with Russell Foulk at Nevada Fertility Center (Ivy Fertility Network clinic)?
Dr. Foulk's communication style & and the details and care given to us put us at ease even just over the phone before we met. In person he was just as caring and you didn't feel like he was rushing through his time with you. The only thing I didn't like is when we arrived for ERA biopsy it was with another doctor. But he did perform the egg retrieval and was great all along the way.oh also I ended up getting billed for extra charges outside cycle fee that we’re not previously discussed or disclosed to me. This didn’t happen with previous doctors at same clinic and was very frustrating. That still isn’t resolved.
What's one piece of advice would you give a prospective patient of Russell Foulk at Nevada Fertility Center (Ivy Fertility Network clinic)?
Ask if he will be hands-on to do your procedures himself Ask about ALL charges as you go
During treatment, were you treated like a number or a human with Russell Foulk at Nevada Fertility Center (Ivy Fertility Network clinic)?
He definitely took the time to review our case thoroughly before getting on the phone. He took the time to explain his thinking and didn't push us into anything. He showed empathy and tried to do what he could to work around our schedule & budget. On cycle day he sat and talked with me after the procedure longer than necessary. I could feel he cared about my experience and my comfort. He really makes you feel he cares about YOU and you’re in good hands. I’m so glad we tried one more cycle with him!
Describe the protocols Russell Foulk used in your cycles at Nevada Fertility Center (Ivy Fertility Network clinic) and their degree of success.
Protocol would be same as I had previously (Lupron based IVF) but with ERA to adjust transfer window accordingly. For the transfer he suggested adding Neupogen to help the uterus be receptive to the embryo since we've had trouble with implantation in the past. I definitely felt he reviewed our specifics carefully and looked to see what he could do to make a difference this time
Describe your experience with your nurse at Nevada Fertility Center (Ivy Fertility Network clinic). (Assigned nurse: Kimberly for retrieval / Dayana for transfer)
Both nurses were very communicative, quick to respond, answered all of my questions, and just kind all along the way. They never got rattled when I got stressed out and asked for help out of stress. They were always available and helpful and compassionate. Both the nurses and Dr. Foulk were fantastic.

Describe the costs associated with your care under Russell Foulk at Nevada Fertility Center (Ivy Fertility Network clinic).
Approx $750 for ERA Transfer + $12000 for IVF cycle + $4000 for Transfer + 175 for fluid ultrasound + 100 for neupogen (before discounts he offered due to our situation)... plus medications of course

Dr. Johnson spent lots of time talking with me, never felt rushed. He showed empathy & compassion for our situation and seemed like he genuinely cared about our case ... I did an ERA biopsy with him and he didn't get all of the measurements in the first US, had to go back in. ... He ordered lab work then said he didn't understand the results and I should seek primary care. ... He might truly be amazing at his job, but he puts you at ill ease as he always seemed a bit unsure, nervouse, clumsy a bit with his speech, demeanour & performance.
They (Sher Fertility of Las Vegas) have a patient portal but sometimes contact you via email or via phone. You tend to have a single nurse contact, but then along the way you might interact with others too. The nurses aren't directly available by phone 24/7, but often respond after hours via email. If you have trouble with that, they ahve a 24/7 answering service that will put you in touch with a doctor or nurse if need be. Very well-run operation
How was your experience with Mark Johnson at Nevada Fertility Center (Ivy Fertility Network clinic)?
Although Dr. Johnson really seemed like he cared and was super patient & kind, he came off like he did not understand what he was doing in every communication. I hate to this say this, but it is true. He ordered lab work then said he didn't understand the results and I should seek primary care. I did an ERA biopsy with him and he didn't get all of the measurements in the first US, had to go back in. I even felt the nurse was a bit embarrassed by his manner. He might truly be amazing at his job, but he puts you at ill ease as he always seemed a bit unsure, nervouse, clumsy a bit with his speech, demeanour & performance. This may not effect his ability to provide results, I'm just not sure. But being "veterans" at this and looking for direction, support, comfort, finality, we didn't feel we could get it with him sorry to say.
What's one piece of advice would you give a prospective patient of Mark Johnson at Nevada Fertility Center (Ivy Fertility Network clinic)?
"Interview" multiple doctors and choose the one that feels the best fit for you, whether that's Dr. Johnson or someone else. Just because we didn't feel it was quite right doesn't mean he won't be the right choice for you.

IUI - cycle [with Dr. Mark Johnson] was cancelled due to slow growing follicles. Ovulated on my own resulting in a chemical...Responded well to clomid previous cycle but not at all on this one so it was cancelled...I saw Dr Johnson at every single appointment! My husband travels a lot for work and I swear DR J knew his schedule better than I did!! I even have his personal cell number which lets face it not a lot of DR's give that out...While we haven't had our miracle rainbow baby yet I wouldn't go back and not be a patient of DR Johnson's. Not only did we see him at every appointment but he took an interest in us as people not just patients. New Patient Advice Doctor Nps
The medical assistant that worked with us [at Sher Fertility of Las Vegas] had her strengths and her weaknesses. Let's start with her weaknesses which was not being able to remember what our treatment plan was and telling me to inject an intramuscular HCG into my stomach. Her strengths were that she is very nice and compassionate and she is AMAZING at taking blood!! I have veins that aren't easy to find and she would always get it first try! If someone else tried I would just ask for her!...They also do not treat their patients like a number... when you are there you feel like you are among friends. Weakness would be that they are pretty busy so it can be hard to get a hold of someone immediately but you will always get a call back.

Success w/ Doc Too early to know
Don’t be turned off by the initial endearing ‘quirkiness’ [of Dr Mark Johnson]; he is extremely intelligent and has a heart of gold...They are willing to transfer two, but Dr Johnson wants us to meet with a high risk OB before doing so...was the second local doctor we had a consultation with and the first doctor to spend the time with us. During our consultation he spent over two hours with us explaining every detail of treatment, going over our files and personal issues and never rushed us. He makes us feel like he has all the time in the world for us and we’re never rushed.
SIRM as a whole seems to push a single embryo transfer versus multiple, but seems that it would be determined by your age...This is the 3rd clinic we reached out to (second locally), and couldn’t recommend them more. After every appointment I leave feeling more confident in choosing them...even the receptionist Shamila is so nice and always answers my questions and calls me back fast with answers...Over the phone if dealt with Dayana who is quick to answer questions and send emails at the times she says she will. In person I’ve dealt more with Christine(a?) who is awesome. She has a great personality and makes us feel comfortable and welcome every time.
How was your experience with Mark Johnson at Nevada Fertility Center (Ivy Fertility Network clinic)?
Dr. Johnson is extremely welcoming and compassionate. We never feel like a number and always like someone he truly cares about. Our first consultation he spent almost two and a half hours with us explaining every single detail of the treatments and our file. He then asked if we had time for a quick ultrasound so he could get a better look at my follicles. He always asks if we’re comfortable and says we can slow the process down if we need/want to. Our second appointment, I was scheduled for a sonohystogram near the same time as a PESA for my husband so we wouldn’t be waiting for each other. Two days before the appointment my husbands scheduled time got moved up 4 1/2 hours (to 630 am) and Dr. Johnson came in earlier than he was scheduled that day so we weren’t waiting for each other. He was so incredibly nice about it. (I mean what doctor would do that?!) Dr. Johnson has a great sense of humor and laughs/jokes with us often; which I could see some people having a problem with, but I love it. It’s already a serious enough process that it’s nice to not feel so stressed during the appointments.

This is the 3rd clinic we reached out to (second locally), and couldn’t recommend them more. After every appointment I leave feeling more confident in choosing them. Our first consult at red rock fertility we weren’t even able to see the doctor and were pushed into signing up that day. It just didn’t feel right. At SIRM, even the receptionist Shamila is so nice and always answers my questions and calls me back fast with answers.
Describe the costs associated with your care under Mark Johnson at Nevada Fertility Center (Ivy Fertility Network clinic).
Dr. Johnson does ‘step’ billing as I call it, which I love. The IVF/retrieval portion is $8100, not including meds; transfer is $2900, not including meds; PESA is $850 with optional $450 anesthesia; PGT-A is $1850 plus $1450 for 8 embryos. You Pay each step when you get to it.

I came to Dr. Sher from another clinic that wasn’t so great. I thought I’d had plenty of testing done but he ordered more. Because of my PCOS and endometriosis he ordered a NK Cells panel... that confirmed that I do have elevated natural killer cells in my body that will likely harm any embryos before they have a chance unless I prepare my body with things like interlipid infusions prior to transfer. But those results indicated that I needed to do a DQ Alpha test with me and my husband, and we’re a partial match which means half our embryos won’t be accepted by my body.
I wish that as of now, all the testing results [from Sher Fertility of LV] were posted on my patient profile portal so I can re review it whenever. They’re in the process of transitioning to online but not quite there yet. Also with Dr. Sher leaving the practice end of March, know that you will not be seeing him.. but dr Johnson and dr Faulk have all been highly regarded by the nursing staff- which I trust completely
How was your experience with Geoffrey Sher at Nevada Fertility Center (Ivy Fertility Network clinic)?
The only negative is that he’s retiring from actively seeing patients after the upcoming March cycle. He’s been doing this for over 30 years and is moving to a consultation only based practice- but not hands on. I wish a million times I had just gone to see him first. I’m still hopeful that the new doctors at SIRM will uphold his same standard of individualized care.
What's one piece of advice would you give a prospective patient of Geoffrey Sher at Nevada Fertility Center (Ivy Fertility Network clinic)?
Be open and honest and be ready to get tested for a lot up front, to know what you’re dealing with instead of trying the “standard” and making changes after it doesn’t work. It seems like a lot of steps before you can just jump in but it’s worth it
During treatment, were you treated like a number or a human with Geoffrey Sher at Nevada Fertility Center (Ivy Fertility Network clinic)?
Dr. Sher is there for all of the appointments and monitoring. It’s not handled by nurses that are reviewed by him later. Every patient is given his personal cell phone and told to call with ANY questions. I did call, and received patient warm answers from him personally. The staff is all superb. And since cycles are limited to how many can join, it affords a personal experience each time.
Describe the protocols Geoffrey Sher used in your cycles at Nevada Fertility Center (Ivy Fertility Network clinic) and their degree of success.

As for treatment- I went on birth control,to align me with the next cycle date. Started leupron injections in the mornings, and omnitrope injections in the evenings. Came off birth control and started my period. Went in for baseline ultrasounds (conducted by Dr. Sher ), given clearance to start stimulation meds. We did 150 of gonal for two days, then 75 of gonal and 75 of menopur for the remainder till I was ready. The first retrieval did not go as expected and my eggs were stuck to the walls of my lining. Only 1 egg came out, but it did not fertilize. The next cycle we bumped up the stimulation meds to 300, and got 14 eggs, 11 fertilized, but 3 made it to blast stage. Currently awaiting PGS results.
Describe your experience with your nurse at Nevada Fertility Center (Ivy Fertility Network clinic). (Assigned nurse: Kim ealy)
This is another thing that truly sets apart SIRM. the staff is soooo helpful, encouraging, loving. Kim, my nurse, checks her emails after hours and always replies to any questions I have. The calendar they give you let’s you know what to expect and when. When I had to extend my meds out a few days the first cycle, they gave me some that I was short on, saving me hundreds. The list goes on and on but I love them all

Describe the costs associated with your care under Geoffrey Sher at Nevada Fertility Center (Ivy Fertility Network clinic).
My insurance covers 50% of eligible costs up to 20,000 lifetime benefit. My first retrieval, after all ultrasounds and monitoring came to just under $900 with insurance. My second retrieval billing is still pending.
Describe Geoffrey Sher's approach to eSET (elective single embryo transfer) vs. multiple embryo transfer at Nevada Fertility Center (Ivy Fertility Network clinic).
Because of our partial DQ Alpha match, they will only do single embryo transfer for me... because if one is that match, my body would abort both.

I came to Dr. Sher because I just had my second miscarriage. We did DNA analysis and tested for antibodies to various diseases to figure out what caused my miscarriage. The only thing that showed up was that I have MTHFR C677T mutation. ... Dr Sher really wants to help you. He's very knowledgeable on all aspects of fertility. He also told me what I needed to do to prepare for my next cycle. Unfortunately, I had problems with fibroids and had to deal with that first.
well it was always very easy to get an appointment and they [Sher Fertility of Las Vegas] never made you wait more than 15 minutes for your appointment. the office wasn't busy each time I went there for consultation. I never consulted a nurse for their pricing but based on what I saw as estimates, their pricing seemed higher. ... they were all very friendly to me. they were quick to respond over email as well.

We only have one to transfer but if two made it we would have transferred two because of my age and recurrent miscarriages...Dr. Sher even gives out his personal cell phone when you are going through the process in case you have any questions. And.....he answers. Believe me, I've used it before. He is blunt and truthful but does it with a loving heart because he is trying everything he can to make you parents.
Every visit [at Sher Fertility of Las Vegas] I felt loved and cared for. Especially by Kimberly Ealy, Jessica, Kristina, Amanda, Tina, Heather, Diana, Brianna, Chalet and I'm sure many more. They became my family and celebrated with us as we had good news and hugged us when we had not so good news. They truly care!...Approximately 10K in office for IVF. Also had Natural killer cell testing at about $1400...With all of the appointments, shots, treatments you will be going through, you can put your trust in this staff at SIRM.
How was your experience with Geoffrey Sher at Nevada Fertility Center (Ivy Fertility Network clinic)?
Where to begin? Dr. Sher us one of a kind. No wonder he has delivered over 18,000 babies and still going. He has patients fly from other countries for his services. Dr. Sher is honest, kind, compassionate and truly cares about his patients and their families. The minute we met him and then had an hour conversation about our issues and concerns, he made us feel comfortable and breathe a little easier. We knew we needed to be here and with the SIRM family. We had been to other clinics but nothing compared to the warmth we received. Excited to see what the future holds.
What's one piece of advice would you give a prospective patient of Geoffrey Sher at Nevada Fertility Center (Ivy Fertility Network clinic)?
Ask questions and never feel afraid to share all of the thoughts you may have. Dr. Sher is a wealth of knowledge. Utilize that!
During treatment, were you treated like a number or a human with Geoffrey Sher at Nevada Fertility Center (Ivy Fertility Network clinic)?
Dr. Sher has an amazing bedside manner and truly cares about his patients. He is the best in the business because of this. We know he is doing everything he can, while being completely honest with us during the process, for us to have our baby. Love the staff as well. Top notch!
Describe the protocols Geoffrey Sher used in your cycles at Nevada Fertility Center (Ivy Fertility Network clinic) and their degree of success.
I began with birth control to regulate my periods, then started on Lupron and Omnitrope. The first week I had a lot of headaches and mood swings. Then a week later I began Ganirellix and stopped the Lupron at that time. A few days later I added Follistim and 2 days after added Menopur. My follicles weren't growing fast enough and large enough so the continued me on an additional few days past the "normal" to give them time to grow and the caught up.

I was even more surprised as he [Dr. Sher] tried to correlate my history of infertility and my particular medical conditions (PCOS, insulin resistance, tubal factor, among others), to explain in a natural and scientific way my failures in previous attempts. He did what a Doctor rarely does and took a lot of time explaining how one could try to overcome each of the obstacles, I think I learned more in that consultation than in all the time I've been reading, researching and trying to conceive. ...He'll let you pick sex if you want to, and would transfer up to 2 embryos. Has educated about the risks of multiples....When he has had to call me by phone, he is always punctual and never makes me feel that someone else is waiting for him...
it's [Sher] a cozy and warm place, it does not have pictures of babies on the walls,...The clinic is clean, spacious and everything is well organized. Maybe it does not have the appearance of being a brand new and ultra-modern place, like other offices I've visited... She [nurse] sends my prescriptions to every pharmacy she knows and gives me tips on how to maximize my savings with each one. She provides me with on time updates about my progress, is on top of everything and well organized, and is always making sure to point the full half of the glass instead of the empty one. She is very knowledgeable and aproachable too, as well as the Doctor, and is always crossing her fingers for me and sending baby dust my way.
How was your experience with Geoffrey Sher at Nevada Fertility Center (Ivy Fertility Network clinic)?
I think it's going to be difficult and a bit long to put this into words, but I'm going to try. For me, Dr. Sher is the most knowledgeable professional in the IVF arena, today and since decades ago. I think perhaps in all the United States and surely must be one of the best in the world, it is incredible the amount of practices that are implemented today in IVF thanks to him. You just have to do a bit of online research to be amazed. But I do not want to talk about this, but about my own personal experience with him. I was very surprised when we arrived that he had taken the time to study all our history previously, (before I had gone with Dr. Bruce Shapiro also in the Las Vegas area, and I had asked to transfer all my file to Dr. Sher ). I was even more surprised as he tried to correlate my history of infertility and my particular medical conditions (PCOS, insulin resistance, tubal factor, among others), to explain in a natural and scientific way my failures in previous attempts. He did what a Doctor rarely does and took a lot of time explaining how one could try to overcome each of the obstacles, I think I learned more in that consultation than in all the time I've been reading, researching and trying to conceive. My only regret is not having met Dr. Sher before, for example before trying to use Clomid, which by producing large amounts of eggs caused also a large increase in free testosterone, and not only produced poor quality eggs that had difficulty to reach my uterus through my only blocked tube -which was believed by another doctor to be healthy because it was permeable to some grade-, but also caused the fall of half of my beautiful and abundant hair. Dr. Sher sent me a list of all the articles in his blog related to my situation, and asked me to read everything before starting the cycle, so I did and it helped me a lot to be informed and not to be anxious during the process. I love that every time we see each other, even if he is not looking at his computer, he always reminds me by my name and also my husband. As he told me himself once, he was going to take care of me during my treatment as if I were his little sister, and he really has always made me feel that way. If I have to mention his weaknesses, there would be only two: 1) Hopefully it will be less time before the initial consultation with him could be obtained, although in reality it is worth the wait, since the doctor and his team are in charge of compiling exhaustively all the tests, images, medical history, that you have listed in the initial questionnaire sent to you by mail. In this part it is important that you'll be equally thorough, and as the form says, be very detailed, because the Doctor will take all this time to investigate and more importantly, analyze the history of each patient, in order to determine the best way to approach your treatment. 2) I wish the Doctor was not about to retire, I still can not believe that he will retire in mid-2019, I hope I can conceive before that date because I do not want to see any other doctor than Dr. Sher.
What's one piece of advice would you give a prospective patient of Geoffrey Sher at Nevada Fertility Center (Ivy Fertility Network clinic)?
Book your consultation with him as soon as you have the first thought, just take the phone and dial the number because it will pass time before you get to see him and he is worth every minute you are going to wait. You'll have time to do all your research online later, and if in the end you decide you don't want to see him, or you'll go with another doctor (which I personally think will be a mistake), just be polite and nice and cancel within the timeframe you're given to do so.
During treatment, were you treated like a number or a human with Geoffrey Sher at Nevada Fertility Center (Ivy Fertility Network clinic)?
My husband and I had to wait 2 months to meet Dr. Sher in our initial consultation. It was worth every minute we waited. When we arrived we realized that the doctor already knew every detail of our medical history by heart, he called us by our names with total spontaneity, and he made us feel like he was a father who knows his children, and knows that he can help them in their need. Moreover, he wishes with all his heart that our success is also his success. He explained in detail why I have failed on past attempts, was honest about the implications of all the factors that condition my fertility, and offered me a comprehensive treatment to address each one of them. He offered me his telephone number in the first consultation and every time we see each other he reminds me that I am only one call away, at any time. He remembers my name and my husband's, and that is important for us. It tells me that this Doctor really loves his profession and feels passion for what he does, and that makes me trust him. When he has had to call me by phone, he is always punctual and never makes me feel that someone else is waiting for him. I do not know if one day we will be parents, I just know that when that day comes, it will be thanks to Dr. Sher.
Describe the protocols Geoffrey Sher used in your cycles at Nevada Fertility Center (Ivy Fertility Network clinic) and their degree of success.
Dr. Sher what is called the prolonged coasting method for me to cycle, to avoid Ovarian Hyperstimulation Syndrome (OHSS). In my first IVF cycle with him, he suggested toinitiate a long pituitary down regulation protocol (using Lupron) coming off a birth control pill (BCP). Then stimulated with 450U of Folistim for two days and reduced the dosage to 300U daily thereafter, adding 375U of Menopur, and I also had 8U of Omnitrope to help my eggs grow and to improve quality. I had 8 follicles that were between 15 and 22mm. At this time “prolonged coasting” was stopped and I was administered a “trigger shot” of 10,000u hCG. 2 mature eggs were retrieved and 2 others were retrieved but weew not fully mature, they were let grow for some hours and them all there 4 were fertilized correctly but 3 of them stopped growing around days 3 and 4. Only one beautiful embryo made it to blastocist and had been frozen. I'm still waiting on PGS results for next week, but it looks great and I'm positive it will be healthy and highly graded. I am already preparing for my next cycle, as we want as least to have some more to try transfer. I was going to do it on December but we moved it to October, since I'll be coming out of BCP and I already got my period, doctor recomends to let ovaries rest for at least a month, so we'll be doing that. For next cycle my doses are going to be increased, and we are keeping the same protocol. which is expected to continue protecting me against OHSS, but we hope for better results with the adjusted doses considering I'm heavy overweight right now. I'm following the fertility diet too to help my eggs, alsod using CQ10, prenatal vitamins with only Folic Acid (No DHEA for now, read Dr. Sher's explanation here: https://haveababy.com/fertility-information/ivf-authority/dhea-and-ivf-harmful-in-certain-cases), as I have high insulin/insuline resistance, which makes my testosterone to be higher already. Completing with Metformin 500 mg twice a day to try to keep that insuline resistance under control.
Describe your experience with your nurse at Nevada Fertility Center (Ivy Fertility Network clinic). (Assigned nurse: Kimberly Ealy)
Kim (as well as all the other girls on Dr. Sher's staff) is what we call an angel on earth. She will get back to me in less than 5 minutes when I email her, and when they are cycling never later than end of day. She has never not replied to me or call me back when asked or promised. She sends my prescriptions to every pharmacy she knows and gives me tips on how to maximize my savings with each one. She provides me with on time updates about my progress, is on top of everything and well organized, and is always making sure to point the full half of the glass instead of the empty one. She is very knowledgeable and aproachable too, as well as the Doctor, and is always crossing her fingers for me and sending baby dust my way.
Describe your experience with Nevada Fertility Center (Ivy Fertility Network clinic).
The clinic is conveniently located near my house and my work and and to me it's a cozy and warm place, it does not have pictures of babies on the walls, I think I read in an interview that it is a symbol of the doctor's respect towards people who have not yet been able to achieve it and have had traumatic experiences. I love that every time I go, there are couples with their babies coming and going. The clinic is clean, spacious and everything is well organized. Maybe it does not have the appearance of being a brand new and ultra-modern place, like other offices I've visited, but I think that Dr. Sher's office feels more like a home and a place where they care a lot more about people, in contrast with those other places that I have visited that look brand new and ultra-modern, but had made me felt they are cold and only care about $$$. A great strenght is they offer something to snack whenever you have to go for tests early in the morning: they have bars, oatmeal, pastries, Honest juice, etc.
Describe the costs associated with your care under Geoffrey Sher at Nevada Fertility Center (Ivy Fertility Network clinic).
I was insurance covered, insurance also pays my medication for 2 cycles. I paid $1,752 for Biopsy and anesthesia on egg retrieval and $1651 for inmune testing.
Describe Geoffrey Sher's approach to eSET (elective single embryo transfer) vs. multiple embryo transfer at Nevada Fertility Center (Ivy Fertility Network clinic).
He'll let you pick sex if you want to, and would transfer up to 2 embryos. Has educated about the risks of multiples.

Success w/ Doc Too early to know
Upon our first consultation we were absolutely sold on Dr. Sher. Our previous experience with other doctors was more cold, and all about getting down to business/treatment. Dr. Sher took the time to explain infertility and his approach... Dr. Sher perscribed a different medication protocol then I had w/my previous RE. He was very specific about why the previous one did not suit my condition, age, etc. He also did extra testing including a hysterscopy, fluid ultrasound
The calendar and information is all very nicely organized. Makes it easy to follow instruction and know what to expect. The only thing I would say they [Sher Fertility] could do better is help you understand what to expect when you arrive in town.... After my first visit, Heather, at the front desk always remembered my name - after only seeing me once! The team would personally email me and write/speak in a casual manner using my name and so forth.

Upon our first consultation we were absolutely sold on Dr. Sher. Our previous experience with other doctors was more cold, and all about getting down to business/treatment. Dr. Sher took the time to explain infertility and his approach, fully acknowledging we had the choice to go anywhere and this was his opportunity to explain what he was about so we could decide if he was the right fit. No hard sell. He clearly cares about what he does. He also gives out his cell number before you even sign up and his able to be contacted any time for questions. He takes each patient seriously and wants to make sure each feels comfortable. He is super warm and personable. Makes you feel he's really rooting for you. Also I felt very comfortable with his vast expertise. He's a pleasure to be around, puts you at ease.
What's one piece of advice would you give a prospective patient of Geoffrey Sher at Nevada Fertility Center (Ivy Fertility Network clinic)?
Don't be afraid to contact him w/any questions - he's your best resource. When you go in for visits though, the time will be very quick, so you have questions then hit him w/them quickly!

Dr. Sher perscribed a different medication protocol then I had w/my previous RE. He was very specific about why the previous one did not suit my condition, age, etc. He also did extra testing including a hysterscopy, fluid ultrasound, and a bunch of immunological testing to rule out other implantation issues. He was able to rule out a host of uterine/immune issues that could be causing implantation failure. He also did PGS testing on my embryos which I hadn't done before.

Describe your experience with Nevada Fertility Center (Ivy Fertility Network clinic).
The calendar and information is all very nicely organized. Makes it easy to follow instruction and know what to expect. The only thing I would say they could do better is help you understand what to expect when you arrive in town. For FET, I had 1 quick visit then didn't have to come back for almost a week. I thought I would be monitored in between and that the FET could be pushed back so I planned a much longer and more expensive "vacation" there then needed. I could have done the initial visit in town then only go up for FET and saved a lot of time, vacation days, and money. I wish they'd explain these expectations better and help out-of-towners plan, but I get that's not their priority. Overall super happy with them though!!
Describe the costs associated with your care under Geoffrey Sher at Nevada Fertility Center (Ivy Fertility Network clinic).
$200 Consultation Cycle was around $10k + $450 for anesthesia + $1500 PGS FET was $4050 Medications around $4000 + travel expenses Consultations / phone calls w/doctor beyond the initial one are all free!!
Describe Geoffrey Sher's approach to eSET (elective single embryo transfer) vs. multiple embryo transfer at Nevada Fertility Center (Ivy Fertility Network clinic).
eSET was not discussed - I only had 1 viable embryo after PGS. As far as multiple we did discuss this earlier on and he said it was really our personal decision, but again we only had 1 to work with so we didn't delve to far into this topic.

Dr. Severino left our treatment strategy up to my husband and I, and gave cautious recommendations like starting treatment with just Clomid. After 5 Clomid cycles with negative pregnancy results, we decided to move forward with IUI treatment, which the Dr. didn't endorse nor counter. After 2 negative IUI cycles, we asked him if we should resign ourselves to IVF and he confirmed. It was the first recommendation we ever received.
They [the nursing staff at Sher Fertility- LV] never follow up with clinical results, different team members give you conflicting information, and they don't provide "next steps" unless you request them several times.... Dr. Severino hasn't given me any reason to mistrust his treatment plans, but his team has made me want to switch clinics several times. The patient has to drag information/next steps out of the clinical team each visit and the Front Office is frustratingly incompetent.

The patient must be responsible for requesting information and expectations since it won't be given unsolicited by the doctor/staff.

The clinic and staff have not been impressive in any way. We've had 4 miscarriages (to include 1 mmc, 1ep, and 1 cp), and presented [to Dr. Geoffrey Sher] having already completed chromosome analysis, blood clotting disorders, and the fetal remains. I was then tested for elevated NK cells, and PCOS, and my spouse and I were tested for DQ Alpha match. We found that we are a partial match, but I do not have elevated NK cells. So this means that there is no obvious cause for our recurrent losses, and thus not a lot that we can do. He recommended doing medicated cycles to increase our chances of conceiving each cycle. We did this before and conceived our 3rd pregnancy this way, so I am not hopeful that this will result in a live birth.
I had issues with the coordinator [at Sher Fertility of LV] in that she was difficult to get in contact with, and did not respond promptly. I also had some issues getting in contact with the front office at times. Nurses did call promptly when asked via telephone, but not via the message portal.... I never actually went to the physical clinic as I live out of state where there is no RE. I appreciate that they accommodated skype calls, and coordinating care out of state. It took quite a bit of time to get a consult, and that was frustrating but apparently this is to be expected.
How was your experience with Geoffrey Sher at Nevada Fertility Center (Ivy Fertility Network clinic)?
Dr. Sher is really kind, and worked well with us. I am disappointed that we did not get the answers that ew wanted, and thus not much of a treatment plan. However, this was explained well to us, regardless of how poorly I felt about it.

Dr. Sher remained compassionate through our care, however, I felt badly whenever I was told that there was nothing else he could do for us at this time to increase the likelihood of having a successful pregnancy. He did not explain this without compassion, I just hate there's nothing else that can be done for us at this time.

The initial consult was $200, and all subsequent consults were of no cost to us. I am not sure the final cost for all of our labs at Reprosource, but before insurance - which isn't likely to cover much - they were around $2k. I'm not sure the cost of clomid as I did cycles with letrozole before, and it was covered by my insurance.

Describe the specific things that went wrong at Nevada Fertility Center (Ivy Fertility Network clinic).
When I got a call with my lab results I received wrong information regarding my case and care because Dr. Sher had another chart in front of him that he was reading from. Another tie I was instructed that I would receive a script for clomid to my pharmacy, and that never happened. Instead I will be pursuing medicated cycles with my previous provider.

Unsuccessful
I have always had problems with my thin lining. So he [Dr. Geoffrey Sher] had me on vaginal viagra. It helped so much! Also even though my natural killer cell test came back negative we tried intralipids and it worked wonders. We finally had success. Other then that the protocol was standard...usually likes to only transfer one embryo to reduce the chances of twin pregnancy. But if it is your wish or he thinks it would be a higher chance for success he will gladly transfer two
Everyone I was in contact with [at Sher Fertility of Las Vegas] was nice and always available. The nurses seemed to care about me very much and I felt like I was in good hands. The lady that’s in charge of billing is a bit more reserved and more about business then the others, but that’s ok...They have set times and cycle dates. But it always worked out for me....They are always available and help with anyhing you need. Even dumb questions or concerns. I didn’t like that sometimes multiple nurses (2 or even 3) seemed to be dealing with my case and not always communicated with each other before contacting me. I had to explain things over again a few times.
How was your experience with Geoffrey Sher at Nevada Fertility Center (Ivy Fertility Network clinic)?
I love him, there is no other way to describe it. Before I got my miracle baby I told my husband: if we fail with Dr. Sher I will know we did everything we could to try to succeed and it just wasn’t meant to be. He is the only RE that cares, have 110% and gave me hope. He is humble, so incredibly knowligable and a caring doctor. I truly believe he is one of if not the best.
What's one piece of advice would you give a prospective patient of Geoffrey Sher at Nevada Fertility Center (Ivy Fertility Network clinic)?
If you feel like giving up, if you feel like your RE isn’t fighting as hard as you, go see Dr. Sher. Even if all fails you will know there wasn’t anything else anyone could have done. He fights for you. Trust him
During treatment, were you treated like a number or a human with Geoffrey Sher at Nevada Fertility Center (Ivy Fertility Network clinic)?
Every time I emailed or called Dr Sher he responded quickly and knew exactly who I was and all of my story. He has so many patients during a cycle, yet he remembers little details about you. He cares and you can feel it

Describe your experience with Nevada Fertility Center (Ivy Fertility Network clinic).
I love how everyone seems to remember you, even if months have passed. They are always available and help with anyhing you need. Even dumb questions or concerns. I didn’t like that sometimes multiple nurses (2 or even 3) seemed to be dealing with my case and not always communicated with each other before contacting me. I had to explain things over again a few times. Also if you are doing IVF as in international patient, you will have to find a lot of medication on your own, because they don’t know what to substitute specific medication with, if what they use in the US is not available in your country.

Success w/ Doc Too early to know
She [Dr. Dayal] is very honest about each situation and about your progress...Upon seeing Dr. Dayal, I had blood work done and ultrasounds that determined that I needed a surgery to remove the build up of the lining of my uterus that when tested was cancerous and pre cancerous. The blood work also concluded that I do not produce some of the chemicals that are required to ovulate or to shed the lining of my uterus and fertility medications were not resulting in ovulation. Given all of the results and the results from the previous Dr. it was deemed that IVF would be the best course of treatment. She said that trying any other course of action would be just a waste of time and money because she didn't see a high chance of these courses having any results. Currently we are waiting and trying to save up money for IVF.
The clinic [Sher Fertility] is very informative and they are dedicated in helping you on your journey and in trying to find answers. They used to do seminars once a year for informative purposes and where they would draw to give away a free round of IVF...I have worked with several of them [nurses] and I can say that they are all very professional and they give you and overall sense that they care for your wellbeing and about your journey.
How was your experience with Molina Dayal at Nevada Fertility Center (Ivy Fertility Network clinic)?
We are still waiting to save money for IVF so we are currently at a standstill. She has been very upfront and honest through the process so far. She has informed us of the best treatment and has not pushed us to try routes that she has thought to be a waste of both time and money since there would be no real chance of seeing results. She has first taken care of me and my overall health so that I am in the best possible position to get the best outcome.
What's one piece of advice would you give a prospective patient of Molina Dayal at Nevada Fertility Center (Ivy Fertility Network clinic)?
Do not go into this thinking that IFV is a last resort or that it is a terrible outcome. Know that it is a process and she will work with you and coming up with the best course of action.

I went through many tests and a surgery. I had previously done rounds of Clovis with no results.
