Attention to Detail

Attention to detail is on a 1 - 10 scale, and is scored based on the rate, and severity, of errors committed by the clinic according to the patients.

For example, a severe error might be failing to inform a patient of critical information, while a small error might be failing to call a patient with results.

CDC Success Rates

This is the most recent data from the CDC. The CDC cautions that it should not be used to compare doctors and clinics. This data represents the outcomes of IVF cycles when using a person's own eggs.

For more information please see our FAQs.

Where you see a “?” on the chart, a clinic has done fewer than 20 cycles in this category and age range, so the CDC says showing percentages from this small data set would be misleading and unreliable.

How was your experience with Luis Noble at Southwest Center for Reproductive Health?
He is a very knowledgeable doctor who seemed to offer options that other clinics did not. He took into account the personal wants and concerns we had. I had a Bilateral Tubal Blockage with Hydrosalpinx. He informed us tubal repair was an option, which hadn’t been the case with other REs. He successfully performed a tubal repair on one of my Fallopian tubes. This was a far better scenario than we had expected. During my stimmed cycles afterwards he adjusted my medication accordingly and really listened to how I was feeling. He is always very personable and never made me feel like I didn’t have time to communicate with him.
What's one piece of advice would you give a prospective patient of Luis Noble at Southwest Center for Reproductive Health?
Be completely open with him about all of your concerns. He will listen.
During treatment, were you treated like a number or a human with Luis Noble at Southwest Center for Reproductive Health?
Dr Noble genuinely looked at all of my history. He accurately weighed all of the options for us and was upfront about chances of success. He gave me the option of tubal repair, which hadn’t been an option with my prior RE. You could see that he was emotionally invested in my case and cared about myself and my spouse.
Describe the protocols Luis Noble used in your cycles at Southwest Center for Reproductive Health and their degree of success.
I had my laparoscopic tubal repair in November 2019. From August 2019 until surgery we had performed genetic testing, ovarian reserve tests, semen analysis as well as full panels of bloodwork. After surgery I waited one month before I began my medicated intercourse cycle. My protocol was two Gonal F injections, three Menopur injections, five days of Letrozole 2.5mg and ten days of Dexamethasone .05mg. On my trigger day I took a 10k unit injection of Pregnayl. During my two IUIs that followed I was on the same protocol accept I added one Gonal F injection and one Menopur injection. None resulted in a positive pregnancy test.
Describe your experience with the nursing staff at Southwest Center for Reproductive Health.
The nursing staff is always equally as knowledgeable as Dr Noble. They quickly communicate with the doctor and provide quick responses.
Describe your experience with Southwest Center for Reproductive Health.
Dr Noble is the only RE at this particular clinic. All of my previous statements are a direct reflection in him and his entire office. The clinic itself is always very clean and easy to navigate. I always felt very comfortable in the waiting room, it accommodates quite a large amount of people.

During a low volume day at the clinic, you will get more undivided attention from [Dr. Noble]. When it is a busy day, you almost feel forgotten while you wait for him to see you and then rushed during your face-to-face time with him. [He] does not really consider your personal family planning goals, but instead pushes protocols even if they don't align with your personal family building choices...Do not expect [him] to be gentle in his delivery of information or to ask you how you are feeling along this difficult journey
[Southwest Center for Reproductive Health] is always very busy and it takes lots of time to be called in for your appointment. When it finally is your turn, you feel like the doctor and nurses are rushing you to get on to the next patient. I once waited for 2 hours to be called in after scheduled start time and then waited for another 45 minutes, undressed from the waist down with a crunchy napkin over my lap, only to have access to the doctor for 5 minutes..The clinic itself is neat and clean. The equipment is old and outdated, but it gets the job done....
How was your experience with Luis Noble at Southwest Center for Reproductive Health?
Dr. Noble is very bright and passionate about his field. He conducts lots of research and bases his treatment decisions on evidence. During a low volume day at the clinic, you will get more undivided attention from him. When it is a busy day, you almost feel forgotten while you wait for him to see you and then rushed during your face-to-face time with him. Dr. Noble does not really consider your personal family planning goals, but instead pushes protocols even if they don't align with your personal family building choices at the time. For example, my husband and I were in agreement to try IUI but did not want to do IVF to build our family. Dr. Noble never asked if we were open to IVF but continued mentioning it as a treatment option. When reminded that we did not want to do IVF, he seemed dismissive and continued mentioning IVF during upcoming appointments. This was very unsettling because my husband and I were left feeling unsure if the doctor forgot what we had said (did he even remember us as patients?) or if he just didn't care. I once cried during an appointment after my 1st failed IUI and the doctor's response was "I know you women get so emotional when you are taking hormonal medications and injections." I did not find this compassionate at all. I wanted to tell him that sure, the hormones made things worse, but I had been crying about the possibility of never having children long before I set foot in his office.
What's one piece of advice would you give a prospective patient of Luis Noble at Southwest Center for Reproductive Health?
I would say to let Dr. Noble bring his professional knowledge to the table and meet him halfway with your personal knowledge of what works for you and your partner (if you have one). Do not be afraid to pause the conversation, ask questions, or to share your personal family building preferences. Do not expect Dr. Noble to be gentle in his delivery of information or to ask you how you are feeling along this difficult journey. Think of him like a scientist working on the world's most precious science experiment, which is preparing your body for a pregnancy. Trust in him and the research, but do not expect much else. I suggest that all patients of Dr. Noble work with a fertility coach, as I have, to get the emotional support that you will not receive working with him at his practice.
During treatment, were you treated like a number or a human with Luis Noble at Southwest Center for Reproductive Health?
Dr. Noble is the main reproductive endocrinologist in town so his office is always very busy and it takes lots of time to be called in for your appointment. When it finally is your turn, you feel like the doctor and nurses are rushing you to get on to the next patient. I once waited for 2 hours to be called in after scheduled start time and then waited for another 45 minutes, undressed from the waist down with a crunchy napkin over my lap, only to have access to the doctor for 5 minutes. The doctor himself is not rude, but does make some insensitive statements and doesn't ask about your personal family planning preferences. You feel like you are just another science experiment on his to-do list and he is a scientist; he follows his protocol according to evidence, but does not consider the client perspective unless you pause the conversation to advocate for yourself.
Describe the protocols Luis Noble used in your cycles at Southwest Center for Reproductive Health and their degree of success.
My husband and I did all the initial/new patient testing (including an HSG) that was required of us and were told that we had "unexplained infertility." Dr. Noble highly suspected that I had endometriosis and recommended a laparoscopy to confirm/rule-out diagnosis. I was found to have Stage 2 endometriosis. After 3 months of not getting pregnant naturally after the surgery, Dr. Noble recommended we try doing IUI; we ended up doing 3 cycles. During each cycle, I took Letrozole and Dexamethosone orally with Gonal-F and Menopur injections. I also had routine transvaginal sonograms and would use the pregnyl HSG trigger shot before each IUI. Dr. Noble made small changes to injection schedule and Letrozole dosage across each IUI cycle. After 3 failed IUIs, Dr. Noble requested to meet with my husband and me for a consult before proceeding further with treatment. I called to book this consult appointment in October and there was no availability until December.
Describe your experience with the nursing staff at Southwest Center for Reproductive Health.
Some nurses were patient and kind. They took the time to make sure you really understood all of their directions, which can be quite overwhelming--especially when you are emotionally depleted. For example, one nurse let me video record her demonstrating how to administer injections to my belly area because I felt very overwhelmed and knew I would forget when I got home. Other nurses were very rude and inconsiderate. For example, I did my first IUI @ 5:30 am; my husband and I were the only ones there that morning. The nurses seemed bothered that they had to come in so early for us. They decided to play a horror film on netflix as my husband and I waited nervously for a new procedure to be done.
Describe your experience with Southwest Center for Reproductive Health.
The clinic itself is neat and clean. The equipment is old and outdated, but it gets the job done. Unfortunately, the front desk staff can be very rude; poor customer service in general (example, flat affect, eyes rolling, etc.) I wish I was making this up. There is a high volume of patients, and the doctor is always booked way out in advance. Several patients are booked at the same exact time and it is a first-come, first-serve environment. It is very inconvenient to be a full-time employee while experiencing infertility and going to this clinic because when they give you an appointment, you'd better take it even if it doesn't work with your work schedule. If you decline, the next appointment offered will be even further out. Be prepared to spend at least half of your day at this office when you have an appointment, because you never know if it will be a busy day for the clinic. Take things to keep you busy and productive in the waiting room so you don't feel like you are wasting so much of your day there.
Describe the costs associated with your care under Luis Noble at Southwest Center for Reproductive Health.
The initial consult was about 200. I was referred to do an HSG which cost approx. 200 (with insurance). I paid for initial lab work, but do not recall the exact cost. My husband and paid about 400 for genetic testing for both of us. I paid a little over 6,000 dollars for endometriosis laparoscopy. I did 3 rounds of IUI. The initial sonogram was about 200 and then each sonogram after was about 120. The IUIs themselves were about 350. All 3 rounds of IUI cost us lots of money in expenses for the hormonal injections; I cannot recall how much altogether but i estimate between 1-1.5 k. I had met my deductible for the year and did not have to pay additional fees for the letrozole or dexamethasone.

Dr. Noble has been a patient provider. He presents the facts and clearly lays out our options, without judgment or pressure regarding our preferences, or concerns/hesitations. He has been encouraging and positive, while also being realistic. I prefer knowing all the details and research behind any recommendations/options, and find that he will provide that, if I probe further...once Dr. Noble is with you, it never feels rushed and he takes the time to answer all questions.

Ask lots of questions, take notes and be patient. Don’t hesitate to advocate for yourself or speak up if something is unclear or doesn’t seem like the right fit.

Describe your experience with the nursing staff at Southwest Center for Reproductive Health.
The majority of the time, nursing staff (medical assistants) are patient and have great bedside manner. Sometimes the instructions for injections/protocol felt rushed and I had to recap and ask further questions.
Describe your experience with Southwest Center for Reproductive Health.
The clinic is typically well organized and staff thoroughly review your current medications and supplements at each visit. Most visits have resulted in at least a 45 minute wait before being seen by a staff member. It would be helpful if they had a dedicated staff member and provided an opportunity to review your insurance coverage as well as any other recommended funding options (e.g., specialty pharmacies, grants, obtaining injections and medications when paying out of pocket). They typically provide clear and written instructions for all lab work, tests, and ordered procedures. There is no option for after hours questions/communication via phone. There is no patient portal or electronic access to your records or email option for correspondence. You can call during business hours with any questions and your message is relayed to one of the medical assistants, who then communicates with Dr. Noble. They are good about responding to any questions via telephone either that same business day or within 24 hours.
Describe the costs associated with your care under Luis Noble at Southwest Center for Reproductive Health.
I have a $6k lifetime fertility benefit via insurance. After two IUIs, this has not yet been exhausted. I have had to pay at least $300 out of pocket for injections which I was told were not covered during the second round of IUI. These costs were not from the clinic, but rather with an online specialty pharmacy.
Describe Luis Noble's approach to eSET (elective single embryo transfer) vs. multiple embryo transfer at Southwest Center for Reproductive Health.
We have not had to do this, as we have not tried IVF. However, he has stated they only do single embryo transfers.
What specific things went wrong at Southwest Center for Reproductive Health?
  • Failed to consider drug intolerance
Describe the specific things that went wrong at Southwest Center for Reproductive Health.
I am sensitive to prednisone and that is in my record. For my initial IUI, staff were reviewing the written protocol with me and stated a steroid rx was sent to my pharmacy. I inquired as to whether this would be safe/advised, given my history. Dr Noble was consulted and staff then removed this from my protocol.

Dr. Noble and staff have been caring. Dr. Noble was excellent throughout including my laparoscopy. ... Dr. Noble seems like a good person and is a great doctor. He explained everything well and remained hopeful for us. I do wish he would try some less costly approaches, but I think he is just trying to get us to our goal the best/fastest way.
And they [SW Ctr for Repro Health] don’t bill secondary insurance so I had to learn how and am still waiting to find out if they picked up the rest of the bill. Plus they only take Care Credit if the card has a visa/MasterCard logo. Mine does not. They only see you if you have paid your bill, which is understandable BUT waiting for secondary insurance since they don’t bill secondary.

Describe the protocols Luis Noble used in your cycles at Southwest Center for Reproductive Health and their degree of success.
I first had a consultation. I then had certain bloodwork completed on certain days of my cycle, had a ultrasound completed to check follicles. Later I had an HSG completely. I received the results which were that yes I ovulate and HSG was clear. But b/c of my two csections and horrible infection, which caused me to PPROM and lose my daughter, he thought a laparoscopy would be ideal. Laparoscopy was completed and yes scar tissue and maybe a little endometriosis were discovered and removed. I had a post op appointment, plan was to try naturally for two months then try 3 medicated IUIs and finally IVF. IVF was always on the table, but super expensive. My age and AMH aren’t the best, but doctor and use seemed hopeful. We haven’t tried IUI yet b/c insurance doesn’t pay and we need to wait until we have the money and time for appointments.
Describe your experience with the nursing staff at Southwest Center for Reproductive Health.
Nurses have been great, except doctor’s signature was forgotten on my HSG paperwork so when I went to the hospital to get that done it was quite a fiasco.

Just that they forgot to get the doctor’s signature on my HSG order and then the hospital should have caught it way before I lying there legs up and naked about to have my procedure done then stop and office was closed so I frantically had to call my OBGYN to sign the orders so I could proceed w/ the HSG that I took a day off of work for.

We are currently doing a hybrid IUI cycle with a low dose of clomid and injectables with plans to do the iui next week. I will have had 2 ultrasounds prior to iui to Check for follicle development. The reason for this treatment is that my husband has semi low motility with some coagulation and there seems to be no issues with me. We chose a conservative route for the first round.

Dr. Noble was a angel. His bed side manner was wonderful. He was so sensitive to our journey and very attentive. The first round we just did ferma and trigger shot and inseminated with donor sperm before ovulation...Each cycle he evaluated what we did and made changes... Dr. Noble is kind and compassionate. He had wonderful bedside manner and went above and beyond our expectations.... He was very attentive to our needs and sensitive to our journey.
The nurses [Southwest Center for Reproductive Health] were wonderful. Just as compassionate and sensitive to us as Dr. Noble....There are long wait times....There is a long wait list but again that is expected.... I can't say enough good things about him [Dr. Noble] and his whole office....I can't recall a breakdown of everything but over all we paid $12,000 out of pocket...The 12,000 included all the testing that needed to be done before starting treatments and the procedures and the donor sperm.

During treatment, were you treated like a number or a human with Luis Noble at Southwest Center for Reproductive Health?
Dr. Noble was a angel. His bed side manner was wonderful. He was so sensitive to our journey and very attentive. The first round we just did ferma and trigger shot and inseminated with donor sperm before ovulation, that resulted in a negative pregnancy test. The second round we added injections and ferma with trigger shot and inseminated with donor sperm during ovulation, that resulted in a negative pregnancy test. The third time we upped my dosage or everything, injections and ferma, did trigger shot and inseminated with donor sperm after ovulation and that resulted in a positive pregnancy test and a live singlton birth. Each cycle he evaluated what we did and made changes. His entire staff was sensitive also. We even took my daughter to visit him and his staff when my daughter was 6 months old. They remembered us and they all loved on her. They even gave us a gift. El Paso, TX is honestly so blessed that he chose to locate his practice here. I can't say enough good things about him and his whole office.
Describe the protocols Luis Noble used in your cycles at Southwest Center for Reproductive Health and their degree of success.
first cycle- letrozol and trigger shot (gonal F) with donor sperm iui before ovulation, negative pregnancy test Second cycle- letrozol, injections and trigger shot (Gonal F) with donor sperm iui during ovulation, negative pregnancy test Third cycle- letrozol, injections every other day once menstrual cycle was done (7 days or so) and trigger shot (gonal F) with donor sperm iui after ovulation, positive pregnancy test
Describe your experience with the nursing staff at Southwest Center for Reproductive Health.
The nurses were wonderful. Just as compassionate and sensitive to us as Dr. Noble.
Describe your experience with Southwest Center for Reproductive Health.
There are long wait times. But that's excepted as this is the only fertility clinic in the El Paso, TX & Las Cruces, NM area. This is also expected because if one patient just found out they had a chromosome defect then they would have a lot of questions, and we need to be sensitive to others that are there. So the long wait times don't bother me. There is a long wait list but again that is expected. Overall, it's a wonderful clinic.
Describe the costs associated with your care under Luis Noble at Southwest Center for Reproductive Health.
I can't recall a breakdown of everything but over all we paid $12,000 out of pocket, as insurance in Texas doesn't cover fertility treatments. The 12,000 included all the testing that needed to be done before starting treatments and the procedures and the donor sperm.
Describe Luis Noble's approach to eSET (elective single embryo transfer) vs. multiple embryo transfer at Southwest Center for Reproductive Health.
we would order our sperm from California CyroBank and our clinic would prepare and spin the sperm for us. Dr. Noble would then inseminate me and would elevate my lower half for 20 minutes after the insemination.

Dr. Noble has always been very honest with my husband and I. He has allowed us to try several different options without leading us on too long. He also has explained my husbands condition as we are dealing with male factor infertility. That is what we respect the most from him. I'm always given exact instructions and information so I'm never left with many questions.... My husband was first put on pregnyl for 6 months after 6 months his semen analysis still showed 0 sperm
They [SW Ctr for Repro Health] answer calls promptly and also return calls promptly. Very friendly and helpful with any questions I had/have. They were/are promt with relaying messages to nurse and doctor. Overall very kind, and compassionate staff....In total including purchase of donor sperm we paid $2500 for medicated iui cycle....His direct nurse is very good and explained everything well! Her name is Ana.

My husband was first put on pregnyl for 6 months after 6 months his semen analysis still showed 0 sperm because of his pituitary macroadenoma. My husband and I then chose to go with donor sperm so now we are doing iui with donor sperm. I already did one full medicated round of iui with no pregnancy as a result. I will be trying again in May. I took clomid, menopur, gonal-f, and triggered with novarel.

He [Dr. Luis Noble] is amazing describes everything and is positive entertaining about him. He has completed my endo surgery and explained everything in none medical person terms. He has a great spirit about him and truly cares about us patients and their well being! He is absolutely wonderful!.... After my first visit he ordered thorough test and once those came back he stated what the protocol was going to be. After the my first IUI I wound up pregnant he monitored me very closely because I have a history of ectopic pregnancy. He had me do blood work every other day. Sadly the pregnancy ended. We did 2 more IUIs which sadly failed. I had surgery one week ago he was very thorough during the surgery got rid of all the endo he could find. He is allowing us to try naturally for 2 months he was very optimistic!
[SW Center for Reproductive Health is a] Wonderful clinic !!! They are all very sweet and very helpful. If they don’t know answers they will find out the answer. They are also very caring. When I went through my miscarriage they showed empathy to the situation and let me cry during the appointment without judgment. I love this clinic and I trust them .... His nursing staff is really nice and answers all questions.

Dr. Noble ordered tests to ensure that nothing would jeopardize embryo transfer. He was always patient and calming and kept appointments positive. He respected my plan and didn't try to convince me to try treatments that had already been unsuccessful...I sought out Dr. Noble after many failed IUIs and IVF treatment. I had a plan to pursue embryo donation/adoption. He was reluctant at first because I was working with Embro Connections. and he had never accepted donor embryos. He was happy to explore the options and support my transfer.
The [SW Center for Reproductive Health] clinic is very nice All the staff are friendly and helpful. Sometimes the wait seems long following an appointment to get follow up instructions. They answered all my questions and provided clear communication when I called to ask additional questions....$8400 for an embryo transfers cycle (much less without hatching/ICSI fee)

He [Dr. Luis Noble] knew his science, knew the timing of everything and was very upfront. He answered all the questions that I had. Went over all the test results with me. I would definitely go back to his office again.... When I was there they were only doing ultrasounds on certain days. But they did have you in an out fairly quickly which was awesome.... I had to see a psychologist first before he would proceed which I found to be unnerving, but she was really nice. But I think an overall waste of money in that we just ended up chit chatting about area schools.
