This is the most recent data from the CDC. The CDC cautions that it should not be used to compare doctors and clinics. This data represents the outcomes of IVF cycles when using a person's own eggs.
For more information please see our FAQs.
Where you see a “?” on the chart, a clinic has done fewer than 20 cycles in this category and age range, so the CDC says showing percentages from this small data set would be misleading and unreliable.

How was your experience with Catha Fischer at Spring Fertility New York?
I doubt Dr. Fischer remembers my name or anything about my personal life, which doesn't matter because she provided the top-notch medical care I was hoping for. She answered my questions with deep knowledge, empathy, and a refreshingly dry wit. Dr. Fischer gave accurate estimates and, as far as I could tell, did a near-perfect job with the medication dosages and timing. She ended up retrieving 15 mature eggs while inducing minimal negative side effects from the medications or the procedure itself.
The only hitch in my treatment was when Dr. Fischer prescribed Aygestin to try to time my cycle when I didn't actually need it, but after I contacted my care navigator Dr. Fischer fixed the prescriptions quickly. By this point we'd talked about scheduling my cycle for months, each time with some Aygestin thrown in to avoid some inconvenient travel I had scheduled, so I can understand why the mix-up happened.
What's one piece of advice would you give a prospective patient of Catha Fischer at Spring Fertility New York?
She's great! For anyone (not just Dr. Fischer's patient) going through egg freezing I'd recommend asking questions so you understand each kind of medication you'll take, when it's administered, and why. The number of medications you'll have to handle is overwhelming at first and actually building a mental model of them helps a lot.
During treatment, were you treated like a number or a human with Catha Fischer at Spring Fertility New York?
As a <30 year old woman with no known history of hormonal or fertility issues, I think I had a relatively uncomplicated egg retrieval. That said, even with my cookie-cutter cycle Dr. Fischer and the team did a great job accommodating my needs and schedule.
Describe the protocols Catha Fischer used in your cycles at Spring Fertility New York and their degree of success.
I had a 5 year old Mirena IUD throughout my treatment. We attempted a cycle in September 2023 but couldn't start when predicted due to an ovarian cyst. Dr. Fischer had me blast it out with Lupron, which didn't work because I'd forgotten to put the medicine in the fridge when I got it (oops) and we followed up with Pregnyl. Afterwards, I probably could have started my cycle as normal but I chose not to because it conflicted with upcoming travel plans.
In 2024 I think I had a relatively cookie-cutter egg freezing cycle. I never got a positive ovulation test when waiting to start and Dr. Fischer said it was possible I never ovulated, but the timing and medications seemed to work all the same:
- 150 units Menopur/225 units Follistim nightly for the first ~week, to simulate the growth of multiple follicles. After the first week, the Follistim was reduced to 150 units.
- 250 units Ganirelix every morning so the follicles wouldn't ovulate early after the first week
- 75 units Menopur/100 units Follistim ~40 hours before retrieval
- Leuprolide acetate trigger shot 36 hours before retrieval
Describe your experience with your nurse at Spring Fertility New York. (Assigned nurse: Aaliyah Holliday)
My care coordinator, Aaliyah, responded quickly to messages in my patient portal and consulted with her teammates or followed up on my calls exactly when she said she would. She was patient with my questions and inconvenient travel plans and she helped assuage a lot of my early anxiety when I didn't see positive ovulation test results.
The nurses at Spring were kind, helpful, and mostly in the loop with my treatment plan. And when I had a question they couldn't answer, they could reach the doctor pretty easily to get it resolved. I never felt ignored or misled and was basically never fed conflicting information.
All the staff at Spring really do seem to care about their patients and will go the extra mile to make sure what they're telling you is correct.
Describe your experience with Spring Fertility New York.
I would recommend Spring to anyone seeking fertility treatment. Everyone on the staff that I talked to regularly - my care navigator, the doctor/nurse on call, the billing department - was competent, professional, responsive, and seemed genuinely interested in helping me. The location next to Times Square is very convenient, great for when you have blood draws scheduled every other day.
Cons: They're more expensive than Kindbody, but I'd rather know that my case is being handled well than get a suboptimal outcome and wonder if it's because I was trying to save a couple thousand dollars.
Describe the costs associated with your care under Catha Fischer at Spring Fertility New York.
$250 consultation.
$9,960 for treatment, including monitoring appointments, most bloodwork, and the retrieval itself.
$3,242 for medication (I had to order extra trigger shots due to an ovarian cyst and forgetting to refrigerate some medications).
Describe Catha Fischer's approach to eSET (elective single embryo transfer) vs. multiple embryo transfer at Spring Fertility New York.
Didn't get embryos, only eggs.
What specific things went wrong at Spring Fertility New York?
Provided conflicting information
Describe the specific things that went wrong at Spring Fertility New York.
The conflicting information I received is minor enough as to almost not be worth mentioning, but I'll mention it because I think it demonstrates how this clinic goes above and beyond for its patients even when things are confusing.
Dr. Fischer prescribed me a Lupron shot to force my body to get rid of an ovarian cyst that was interfering with my treatment, but I realized at injection time I'd forgotten to refrigerate the medication. In a panic I phoned the doctor on call, Dr. Klatsky, who guided me through the shot and scheduled followup blood work. Over the course of a single weekend Dr. Klatsky reviewed my results, prescribed a second shot of Pregnyl, scheduled/reviewed my bloodwork again, then made a point of following up with my care navigator to let her know that my cyst was cleared and I should be good for a slightly delayed egg retrieval cycle. This confused my care navigator on Monday, who (correctly) understood that the delay wouldn't work with my schedule that month.
I'm not Dr. Klatsky's patient, so it makes sense that he didn't have the full context behind my cycle scheduling. Still, he took the time to ensure that Dr. Fischer's directive (popping my ovarian cyst) was carried out well and to think about my cycle more holistically as though I were his patient.
Dr Hancock listened to all of my concerns and always had an answer to back up my questions, with scientific data to support it. Being diagnosed with unexplained infertility was difficult and caused me to constantly self-diagnose, but Dr. Hancock never made me feel crazy or invalidated...provided me with evidence-based explanations when needed. She was compassionate, but also to the point. She made it a point to always see me at every appointment.
RUN, don't walk to Spring Fertility and book an appointment with Dr. Hancock! She is the most down-to earth, compassionate doctor I have seen. She will truly care about you and your fertility goals, and she will do what needs to be done to get things done...Spring's clinic doesn't make you feel like you're about to embark on the most difficult journey, instead it makes you feel a sense of calm. It is clean, and inviting; the front desk staff are kind and welcoming. For how often you are at the clinic, the atmosphere becomes very important!
How was your experience with Kolbe Hancock at Spring Fertility New York?
Dr. Hancock is the best doctor I have ever had, hands down. Going through fertility treatments is a process, and it's so important you choose and stick with a doctor that you trust to have your best interests at hand. Dr. Hancock always reassured me when I was feeling negative, and always provided me with evidence-based explanations when needed. She was compassionate, but also to the point. She made it a point to always see me at every appointment. Even when I was told on the off chance she was in a procedure and I may have to see a different doctor, she came running to squeeze me in. I tell my husband all the time that I wish I could be best friends with her. I feel truly lucky to have had such an amazing doctor to go through one of the hardest things I have experienced in life thus far.

Describe the protocols Kolbe Hancock used in your cycles at Spring Fertility New York and their degree of success.
I did 4 IUIs, 1 egg retrieval, and 2 frozen embryo transfers with Dr. Hancock. All my testing came back normal, so I was diagnosed with unexplained infertility. Dr. Hancock explained my treatment options, and due to insurance, I needed to start with IUI before I could move on to IVF. I received my first positive pregnancy test after my first IUI, sadly that ended in a chemical. Dr. Hancock reassured me by saying that while upsetting, this is actually a good thing because it shows my body can get pregnant. I was very optimistic going into my second IUI, however, that one and the next 2 also failed. It was then time to move on to IVF. Going into IVF I was terrified, but what made me feel better was Dr. Hancock's demeanor. She sat down with us for over an hour via zoom, and answered any and all questions that my husband and I had. She was so knowledgeable about the whole process, and left us feeling ready for this next step, now knowing what to expect. My egg retrieval went amazing. We retrieved 21 eggs, 19 mature, 18 fertilized, and 13 made it to blastocysts. With PGTA testing we were left with 12 embryos and were beyond excited. Then came our first transfer, we used a modified natural protocol, one that Dr. Hancock strongly supports; and since my hormones are all normal and I ovulate normally, it was a good option for me. All went smoothly for the first transfer, however the embryo did not stick. Obviously devastated and confused, Dr. Hancock listened to my concerns (unexplained infertility). While ERA testing is not something they usually recommend after 1 failed transfer, she was willing to do it for me if I really wanted. After speaking with my husband, we decided to forgo it, and proceed with our second transfer instead, with the notion that we would do all the testing needed if this transfer failed. Luckily, we did not need to go there, as our second transfer was successful! We are still in the early stages of pregnancy, but we feel very hopeful and we couldn't have done it without Dr. Hancock.
Describe your experience with your nurse at Spring Fertility New York. (Assigned nurse: Kris)
I have nothing bad to say about nurse Kris, and the entire care team at Spring. Nurse Kris is the kindest person I have ever met. Her voice is soft, and she is very articulate. She explains all directions thoroughly, and is always available to answer questions. Insurance claims and getting medications approved by pharmacies were sometimes a urgent matter and Kris worked so incredibly hard to make sure I got everything I needed, when I needed it, so that nothing was delayed. She is the true superhero behind the scenes. BEST. NURSE. EVER.

Describe your experience with your monitoring appointments at Spring Fertility New York.
One of the best parts of Spring, was their convenient scheduling. I work in a school, therefore I have very limited flexibility when it comes to appointments. Spring ALWAYS made it work for my schedule, whether it was 7am appointments, or random appointment times during the day, I was never stressed when scheduling. In addition, I never waited more than 5 minutes for an appointment. This took me by surprise when I first started going to spring, as I am used to waiting 10-20 min at minimum at all Dr appointments- not Spring. There are always people in and out, but you will never see the waiting room completely full. This is such an important aspect when seeking out a fertility clinic.
Describe the costs associated with your care under Kolbe Hancock at Spring Fertility New York.
Spring fertility took my insurance. The only outside costs I paid were co-pays ($30), medication co-pays (varied between $2-$50), and ICSI (3K), embryo biopsy (3k), PGT testing ($300 per embryo). These were not covered by my insurance as we did not have male factor infertility or a history of miscarriages.
Dr. Fischer is a brilliant doctor and scientist. At the same time, she is an excellent and caring clinician with an exceptional bedside manner. Throughout my treatment, starting with our initial meeting and consultation, I felt that she strove to meet me where I was, and I am sure she does so with every one of her patients. She is willing to cater her care to each individual. I am someone who wants a lot of information to understand what is going on (especially when it came to understanding as much as possible about why I had had repeated losses), and she was willing to provide that information to me whenever I had questions and to the extent she was able to find answers for us. She created a trusting relationship right off the bat, and this also allowed me to relax and sometimes let go of needing to understand each step (especially once we were in the thick of egg retrieval, and I just went with whatever she recommended I do).
The [Spring Fertilty] clinic space itself is really nice, and the surgical and lab floor where retrievals happen and eggs are fertilized is state of the art...everything flowed like a well-oiled machine...I rarely had to wait longer than 5 minutes for my appointments to start. It was easy to schedule the next appointment...My only minor critique is related to the finance department. I did occasionally have trouble getting timely responses to emails, though when I did eventually get responses, I was able to get resolution to my questions. I did have to follow up a few times, which was sometimes frustrating.
How was your experience with Catha Fischer at Spring Fertility New York?
Dr. Fischer went above and beyond to provide me with excellent care. I am fairly certain she was supposed to be off work on the day of my second egg retrieval, and she came to do the procedure anyway. (I would note that I don't agree with this, and I think she should take her well earned days off, but I did appreciate it very much!) Our relationship started after I read reviews of Spring and Dr. Fischer specifically on FertilityIQ. My husband and I had a first meeting with her where we discussed our history of miscarriage, and where we began talking about IVF. We came to the table ready to start IVF right away - we did not want to begin with other interventions - and she was understanding of that decision. She immediately began strategizing our next steps for and assured us that she would do all she could to help us find success. Fertility is extremely complicated and there are so many nuances; I always felt that she would provide as much information as we wanted to have about what was going on, and that we could always ask questions. Dr. Fischer is clearly a busy doctor, and very beloved by her patients, but I always felt that she was extremely present every time I saw her for an ultrasound or an appointment during this process. I am grateful to her for her dedication and excellent care, and I would refer my friends to her in a heartbeat.
What's one piece of advice would you give a prospective patient of Catha Fischer at Spring Fertility New York?
She is a popular doctor, so you should book early! :) In all seriousness, I would say that she will take your care seriously and root for your success. She will be as aggressive as she needs to be to get you to the outcome you want.

Describe the protocols Catha Fischer used in your cycles at Spring Fertility New York and their degree of success.
I did two rounds of egg retrieval back to back. The first was shorter, requirng about 8 days of medication, and the second required about 14 days of medication. I think I was on a fairly routine dosage schedule, but she pushed harder the second round to get more mature eggs. I did typical Gonal-F and Menopur injections the first 5-6 nights and then the antagonist (Cetrotide) was added to suppress ovulation. During the second round, we went longer and my night time injections were reduced slightly towards the end, but we kept going for longer. In the first round, I produced 15 eggs, 9 of which were mature and fertilized via ICSI, and 5 of those became day 6 embryos. We PGT-A tested, and all 5 were euploid. For the second round, I produced 16 eggs, 11 were mature and fertilized via ICSI, and all 11 made it to day 6; 7 were euploid after PGT-A testing. We were very impressed with these results, and were of course grateful that Dr. Fischer achieved such a good outcome for us.
Describe your experience with your nurse at Spring Fertility New York. (Assigned nurse: Dana)
Dana was my assigned nurse during the entire process (genetic work up, two egg retrievals, and prep and completion of transfer), and she is wonderful. I felt so lucky to get to work with her. Not only is she extremely smart and on top of the protocol I was on (and I imagine she has a lot of patients!), she had a wonderful and calming presence. Even when she was not available, I was always able to reach someone on Dr. Fischer's care team, and they were all very professional and great to work with. I really appreciated that if someone did not know the answer to a question, they would just say so and then check and call me back. In general, the office experience is very smooth and appointments moved quickly and on time.
During the egg retrievals and IVF transfer, I was assisted by a wonderful team of nursing staff on the surgical floor. They were also very kind and had wonderful beside manners.
Describe your experience with Spring Fertility New York.
The clinic space itself is really nice, and the surgical and lab floor where retrievals happen and eggs are fertilized is state of the art. It is just really impressive. Also, everything flowed like a well-oiled machine. Most of us are used to waiting for a long time for appointments with doctors, and I rarely had to wait longer than 5 minutes for my appointments to start. It was easy to schedule the next appointment, and I was rarely at the clinic for longer than 15-20 minutes when I had routine appointments (like ultrasounds).
My only minor critique is related to the finance department. I did occasionally have trouble getting timely responses to emails, though when I did eventually get responses, I was able to get resolution to my questions. I did have to follow up a few times, which was sometimes frustrating.
Describe the costs associated with your care under Catha Fischer at Spring Fertility New York.
We had Progyny coverage for the two egg retrievals, so we paid our insurance deductible and the rest (e.g. both retrievals and all associated appointments, as well as medications) was covered. My husband switched jobs after both egg retrievals and we no longer had Progyny, so we paid for our embryo transfer out of pocket (~5K).
Describe Catha Fischer's approach to eSET (elective single embryo transfer) vs. multiple embryo transfer at Spring Fertility New York.
Dr. Fischer (and I believe Spring in general) only transfers one embryo at a time as a matter of policy. My understanding is that they do not make exceptions to this. I agree with this approach because of the risks a multiple pregnancy can present for the mother and for the fetuses. I believe they are making this recommendation because the science supports it, and I did not have a problem with this approach.
What specific things went wrong at Spring Fertility New York?
Lost paperwork
Describe the specific things that went wrong at Spring Fertility New York.
As I noted above, an issue came up with finance when only our insurance billing information was sent to the labs doing our genetic workups (we had Progyny at the time, so we the labs should have received our Progyny insurance information). We were able to work this out over the course of several months, though it was occasionally challenging to reach the finance department.
Dr. Klatsky from the moment on our first zoom call was the first doctor to listen to my medical concerns. He let me know what was happening was wrong and validated my feelings. He took a course of action to actually find out what was wrong and why after five years I could not get pregnant...Even though it didn't work for me I was do happy to finally have a diagnosis of why...He truly is an amazing doctor and I'd recommend anyone to him.

Nothing negative to say, they are top notch. The clinic is clean, well organized, the staff is very friendly and knowledgeable, everything from check in to checkout goes smoothly. Doctor Fisher perfectly combines being kind, direct, and positive while maintaining realistic expectations. She is also very lighthearted, which would make you feel comfortable during the long and complex process of IVF...My first cycle used an antagonist protocol, and I didn't have good results, but when discussing the process results, Doctor Fischer suggested a mid-luteal protocol and growth hormone. I feel optimistic knowing my doctor can offer different options.
The [Spring Fertility] clinic location is fantastic, easy to get to from wherever you are in the city. What I valued the most was the early appointments because my job is super restrictive. I was always seen on time and made it to work on time, after my monitoring appointments. If the doctor did ultrasounds on other patients, I got my blood drawn. The medical assistants were efficient at keeping everyone moving as fast as possible. They are so organized, and the clinic faculties are very clean.

Just make the initial appointment and let her guide you. If you have any suspicions about fertility issues, even if your primary care doctor disagrees, get evaluated. The earlier you schedule an appointment, the better. The doctor can only do so much, and every year counts.

They have two insurances and transparent billing practices. Strangely, they cannot store credit cards to collect copays. I had to swipe my card every time I had an appointment. Eventually, someone sent me a link to pay online, and I would just pay before I arrived.
Dr.K was easy to get a hold of and his team was always readily available. He gave us a very detailed consultation BEFORE we even joined Spring, and was very clear and positive when it came down to our decision to go through another round of IVF. I had multiple questions about the treatment strategy and we also had a very important conversation about a potential surgery that we decided not to go with prior to preparing for our embryo transfer. All in all, he felt like someone who actually cared about us!!

Describe Peter Klatsky's approach to eSET (elective single embryo transfer) vs. multiple embryo transfer at Spring Fertility New York.
Dr.K preferred to do a single embryo transfer in order to increase the outcomes of a live birth
Dr. Klatsky has a lovely, calming presence. He’s obviously brilliant, given what he’s able to accomplish, but it’s his bedside manner and his ability to put you at ease that makes him wonderful. He is patient and soft spoken and thoroughly explains everything so you’re well informed...Dr. Klatsky provided facts and guidance which ultimately led to us deciding to do another retrieval, which was even more successful. I had been eager to transfer after the first retrieval but am so glad Dr. Klatsky explained how we might be more successful at my age with another retrieval - and we were! Dr. Klatsky never pressured us, but explained all options and offered us a choice, which we hadn’t always been given in the past.
Spring’s facility is clean and state of the art, but doesn’t feel cold. In fact, every detail was curated with the patient’s comfort in mind - from the chairs that patients sit in before procedure, to the bandages used after blood draws. Everything was well thought out to put the patient at ease. Appointments run on time, which is helpful when scheduling prior to work. The receptionists at the front desk are friendly and discreet. My only hope would be that Spring would accept more insurance providers. We were fortunate enough to be able to pay out of pocket, but supplements from insurance would have been helpful.

Dr. Klatsky never pressured us, but explained all options and offered us a choice, which we hadn’t always been given in the past.
During treatment, were you treated like a number or a human with Peter Klatsky at Spring Fertility New York?
Dr. Klatsky’s team always treated my husband and I with respect to identify the best go-forward solution. Having been to three prior fertility clinics, where we were told our unexplained infertility was just a “war of attrition”, Dr. Klatsky and his team sat with us, discussed our options and determined the best way forward. It was novel to be listened to, and not treated like we were desperate to have just any procedure performed. Dr. Klatsky used our data to try to determine the next, best steps for our family.
Describe the protocols Peter Klatsky used in your cycles at Spring Fertility New York and their degree of success.
We had previously been to three fertility clinics, and had three rounds of IUI and four rounds of IVF, all of which were unsuccessful. Looking at the data, Dr. Klatsky recommended lower doses of medication for a day or two longer than I had previously taken. The strategy was to allow my slower growing follicles to become more mature. As a result, we retrieved high quality grade embryos, which were successfully transferred.
Describe your experience with your nurse at Spring Fertility New York. (Assigned nurse: Maggie)
Maggie was our nurse coordinator. She was the most patient, empathetic and fast responding nurse we’ve ever dealt with. Maggie communicated instructions in a clear, calm manner and was patient when responding to questions. She eased a lot of worry and anxiety with her demeanor.
I found that all of the nurses at Spring shared the same professional, compassionate and emotionally intelligent qualities. From morning blood draws to egg retrievals to transfers - everyone involved in the process helped to reduce the level of worry and anxiety you’re naturally feeling.
Describe your experience with Spring Fertility New York.
Describe the costs associated with your care under Peter Klatsky at Spring Fertility New York.
Spring did not accept our insurance so we were fortunate enough that we could pay out of pocket. So far, we’ve paid for two egg retrievals and one transfer, which was successful. We hope to transfer our remaining embryos in the future.
Describe Peter Klatsky's approach to eSET (elective single embryo transfer) vs. multiple embryo transfer at Spring Fertility New York.
We transferred a single embryo, given my age and embryo quality.
Dr. Klatsky customized my treatment from beginning to end, adjusting my meds throughout the cycle in response to every scan and blood test. How was your experience with Peter Klatsky at Spring Fertility New York?
I was blown away the amazing treatment I received under Dr. Klatsky's care, and am so thrilled with the results of my egg freezing cycle with him.
Dr. Klatsky understood that I have some irregular factors (low ovarian reserve, irregular cycle.) He also knew that I'd gone through a cycle 1 year prior at a different NYC clinic that did not go well.
The biggest differentiating factor is that Dr. Klatsky customized my treatment from beginning to end, adjusting my meds throughout the cycle in response to every scan and blood test. His personalized approach made an incredible difference, and resulted exactly Double (!) the number of eggs frozen in a single cycle.
He is also an incredibly personable doctor with excellent bedside manner, and I always feel like he is both the captain of my treatment team, and also rooting for me personally.
What's one piece of advice would you give a prospective patient of Peter Klatsky at Spring Fertility New York?
Don't be afraid to ask questions!
During treatment, were you treated like a number or a human with Peter Klatsky at Spring Fertility New York?
Never for a moment did I feel like a number or a run-of-the-mill case, which is exactly how I had felt after my experience at a previous practice.
Dr Klatsky and the team did not rush me into starting a cycle, were patient with my irregular cycles, made a point of understanding what was going on with my body before going ahead with forming a plan, and generally treated my case with the level of attention and thought it deserved... And the result was a doubly successful cycle under his care vs my cycle at the other fertility clinic.
Describe the protocols Peter Klatsky used in your cycles at Spring Fertility New York and their degree of success.
Mid-Luteal start, 12 days of injections (Cetrotide in AM days 6-12; Menopur and Gonal in the evenings Days 1-12.) Trigger shots were lupron (.8) and Novarel 2500.
I began with 8-9 antral follicles, 9 were retreived, and 6 were mature/frozen.

Organized, caring, well run, very prompt.
Never hard to get in touch with your care team or doctor, which I found was an issue at a prior clinic. I really appreciated that you had a dedicated care team so it wasn't a giant question mark when it came to who to reach out to

How was your experience with Nicole Yoder at Spring Fertility New York?
Dr. Yoder is easily one of the best doctors I have had. She is professional yet personal. She is very detail-oriented. She also has a great deal of empathy and knows how to resolve issues and setbacks when they arise
What's one piece of advice would you give a prospective patient of Nicole Yoder at Spring Fertility New York?
Ask questions; ask and ask

Describe your experience with Spring Fertility New York.
Spring's staff all have a patient-first mentality. They offer early appointments - as early as 7 AM - so it was not at all disruptive for work. I always saw my MD at appointments and was able to get on the phone to talk to her as I always had many questions. The egg retrieval went really well with caring and efficient staff, with optimal follow-up. The staff explain the risks and benefits of all procedures, and are gracious when performing all their tasks, including phlebotomy. The clinic atmosphere is welcoming, and the little touches (chocolate after procedure, inspiring coffee table books) are refreshing.
That said, I did not have the best experience with the finance department; the communication was not clear, they were not proactive about reaching out to my insurance about coverage, and the personnel I interacted with is not the best at conflict resolution. It ended up marring my otherwise wonderful experience at Spring. I would advise anyone going there to ask specifically about significant potential out-of-pocket costs early on, especially around lab work that would be contracted out to an external lab. Note that Spring currently exclusively uses Juno for genetic testing, which does not contract with insurers. I am happy with the outcome of my cycle with Spring.
Describe your experience with your monitoring appointments at Spring Fertility New York.
It was well scheduled, and I could go for appointments when I had the time. Appointments were typically available when I needed them
What specific things went wrong at Spring Fertility New York?
Dr Shastri went through all the possible causes with me, developed a treatment plan accordingly, and the one round I’ve done with her so far got me more frozen eggs than both my previous rounds combined...We did Estrace priming instead of the birth control pill leading up to this round to avoid over-suppressing my ovaries, but I also just felt so much better on it - I do not do well on BCPs. We used Gonal-F & Menopur once a day in similar but slightly lower doses than I’d used in the past, and one thing I thought was interesting was we tapered off the amounts as the cycle progressed
Having a care coordinator [at Spring Fertility] was a HUGE improvement from past experience. This process is very dynamic and things change from day to day, so it was really nice to have just one point person I could call/email with questions instead of talking to someone different every time, especially since she was super organized and always quick to respond....
How was your experience with Shefali Shastri at Spring Fertility New York?
Such a great experience and I would be thrilled to work with her again. I had two rounds previously with another RE that were successful, but didn’t get nearly the numbers that my AFC indicated. Dr Shastri went through all the possible causes with me, developed a treatment plan accordingly, and the one round I’ve done with her so far got me more frozen eggs than both my previous rounds combined!
What's one piece of advice would you give a prospective patient of Shefali Shastri at Spring Fertility New York?
I don’t think you really need advice, she’s very welcoming of questions and just great to work with
During treatment, were you treated like a number or a human with Shefali Shastri at Spring Fertility New York?
I had consultations with several REs when deciding where to go for round 3, and even on a video call Dr Shastri’s passion for her work and concern for individual patients really comes across!

We used Gonal-F & Menopur once a day in similar but slightly lower doses than I’d used in the past, and one thing I thought was interesting was we tapered off the amounts as the cycle progressed. (I’m not a doctor but even I could tell from looking at the ultrasound screen that my follicles grew a lot more uniformly in size this time around.) Then Cetrotide and a Lupron + low-dose HCG trigger. And voila!

Describe your experience with Spring Fertility New York.
I will probably do one more round of egg freezing at some point and I will definitely come back here for it. I’m not local to NYC, so I was really nervous about flying across the country to stay in a hotel and have a procedure under general anesthesia in a facility I’d never even heard of before I started this whole process 😂 but the experience and the results were TOTALLY worth it.
She [Dr. Fischer] is a very experienced and talented clinician, who chose a great protocol for me, and was able to grow my cohort of eggs to maturity so cohesively, that every egg was able to be frozen except just one...I had an early follicular phase protocol, which started with a combination of Follistim and low dose Pregnyl...Around day 7, I started Ganirellix as the antagonist, and then used Pregnyl and Lupron for the trigger shots. After each visit, which consisted of an ultrasound to measure the size of the follicles and bloodwork, I received updated medication instructions tailored to me based on how my follicles were responding to the treatment...

Ask lots of questions.
Describe the protocols Catha Fischer used in your cycles at Spring Fertility New York and their degree of success.
I had an early follicular phase protocol, which started with a combination of Follistim and low dose Pregnyl. There is currently a national shortage of Menopur, so I took a higher dose of Follistim combined with the low dose Pregnyl instead. Around day 7, I started Ganirellix as the antagonist, and then used Pregnyl and Lupron for the trigger shots. After each visit, which consisted of an ultrasound to measure the size of the follicles and bloodwork, I received updated medication instructions tailored to me based on how my follicles were responding to the treatment. The results were excellent, as 94% (all except 1 egg) reach maturity and were able to be frozen. I could see that there is almost an art (and a lot of medical expertise) when it comes to how Dr. Fischer chose to modify the protocol over the course of the 2 weeks, and then chose the right day for the trigger shot.
Describe your experience with your nurse at Spring Fertility New York. (Assigned nurse: Dana)
Dana was an excellent and compassionate nurse, as were all the nursing staff I connected with over the course of my treatment. The session with Dana to go over the trigger shot and to understand the retrieval was very helpful.

She [Dr. Fischer] took a lengthy amount of time to get to know me, my background, and what I want in terms of a family in the future. Courtney [nurse at Spring Fertility] made sure to check in on me when I paused my appointments (due to financing). She connected me with all of the right team members to have financial and care conversations, got me the letters and things I needed to bring a case to my employer. How was your experience with Catha Fischer at Spring Fertility New York?
Dr. Fischer spent considerable time with me when I had a diagnosis that will make having a family harder. She explained everything in detail, and checked on me via email several times after my visit. I appreciate that she is also doing research that could change the fertility game in the future for all of us.
What's one piece of advice would you give a prospective patient of Catha Fischer at Spring Fertility New York?
Learn about your fertility numbers early. Advocate for your company/insurance to cover these early tests.
During treatment, were you treated like a number or a human with Catha Fischer at Spring Fertility New York?
Catha has been the best fertility doctor I have had to date. She took a lengthy amount of time to get to know me, my background, and what I want in terms of a family in the future. She supported me as a single parent of choice while just getting out an unsafe relationship. I have visited several doctors across the country trying to find high quality, low cost care, and she has been the best across the board. She follows up and explains everything to you with compassion, and offers to be there for you even when I couldn’t financially go forward with the procedure.
Describe the protocols Catha Fischer used in your cycles at Spring Fertility New York and their degree of success.
I did the initial assessment but due to cost, I was unable to move forward yet with the egg freezing I medically need due to low AMH and FSH and follicle counts. She said I will likely need 2-3 cycles performed, but cannot without insurance. She has helped write letters and provide information for me to bring to my employer in my fight for coverage.

Describe your experience with Spring Fertility New York.
Strengths: doesn’t feel quite like every other clinic. Has its own look and more feel. People were very welcoming when I came into the office. The front staff were helpful, and the other physicians introduced themselves to me.
Weaknesses: the price is above other competitors and the pharmacy contract for financing was forced upon me without even my care plan being set. I did not like that. I provided feedback.

The process went very smoothly and I felt that the communication was great. The only weakness I would say is that the medication administration process was a bit overwhelming to do at home alone.

Dr. Yoder is very friendly and genuinely seems to care about your experience. She takes the time to walk through all the details of the process and what to expect. I was very at ease throughout the process and felt comfortable asking a multitude of questions...took the time to understand my background and my goals. I am usually very uncomfortable during the ultrasound and she kept that in mind during each visit and made me feel comfortable throughout the process

My [Spring Fertility] care team was very attentive. Emails and calls were always addressed in a timely manner, even on weekends. The first night of injections, I panicked and there was an on-call doctor available to walk me through the process. I very likely wouldn’t have started my injections on time, if not for that compassionate, patient doctor that was on-call that night. I’m very satisfied with the quality of care I received at Spring.

My treatment consisted of Gonal-f, Menopur, and Cetrotice. I triggered with Novarel and 4mg of Lupron. Aside from the bloating, which was to be expected, I didn’t have any significant issues. The doctor projected 10 - 12 eggs would be retrieved; however, to my surprise, 21 eggs were retrieved and all matured.

We tried a mid luteal which I now regret. It works for many but didn’t for me. I then had endo excision surgery and we tried one more time. We used zymot and co culture. Seemed to be a fantastic retrieval but together we had decided to do day 3 embryos. I got the most I had ever gotten and all graded high quality but ultimately the transfers didn’t work.

I had insurance that covered most treatment. What I did pay for was on the higher end ($1700ish for calcium, $500ish for zymot).
What specific things went wrong at Spring Fertility New York?
Provided conflicting information
Describe the specific things that went wrong at Spring Fertility New York.
The only mixup I had was not a huge deal. They said I wasn’t immune to rubella so without looking at my results I went and got the vaccination even though I thought it was weird since two years prior I had tested immune. Months later I did look at the test, and I had tested immune. So not sure where the mix up happened.
Dr. Hancock is kind, highly intelligent and an extremely hard worker...saw her during 99.9% of my appointments...s compassionate and was genuinely committed to helping me...was sympathetic, reassuring and performed my D&C in a caring and compassionate way...best results was human growth hormone and mid-luteal.
[Spring Fertility New York] a beautiful office and they are a well oiled machine. You never wait more than 5 minutes to see the doctor. You see the same doctor and nurses every time which I found nice...Kris and Natalie are amazing. The team is so good. I have no notes!
How was your experience with Kolbe Hancock at Spring Fertility New York?
Dr. Hancock comes with my highest possible recommendation. She is compassionate and was genuinely committed to helping me get pregnant. I also saw her through a hard time. She is the exact combination of what you would want in an RE.
Describe the protocols Kolbe Hancock used in your cycles at Spring Fertility New York and their degree of success.
The protocol that got me best results was human growth hormone and mid-luteal.
Describe your experience with your nurse at Spring Fertility New York. (Assigned nurse: Kris )
Kris and Natalie are amazing. The team is so good. I have no notes!
Describe your experience with Spring Fertility New York.
It's a beautiful office and they are a well oiled machine. You never wait more than 5 minutes to see the doctor. You see the same doctor and nurses every time which I found nice, I was previously at another clinic where you saw someone new every time. You could go your entire cycle and not even see your doctor until the retrieval. The way spring does it is far superior.
Describe the costs associated with your care under Kolbe Hancock at Spring Fertility New York.
Insurance covered a lot but I believe in total for two rounds we paid $6,000.
Dr. Hancock is patient and thoughtful, compassionate, explains things very well and is clearly very smart and competent. I scheduled a consultation following two first trimester miscarriages. After a thorough discussion in her office, she performed an US and quickly identified a potential cause. She explained further imaging that would be needed, and what steps would be taken afterwards. She was positive and thoughtful, and took the time to explain to me everything she was seeing on the ultrasound. I fully trusted her and felt that if I did proceed with IVF, I would have been in excellent hands.
The [Spring Fertility] clinic itself is clean, comfortable and beautiful. It is a calm environment. Scheduling my appointment was easy and straightforward. I felt that things were efficient on the financial side of things as well - while I was out of network and paid out of pocket, all costs were explained to me beforehand...I have never had a better patient care experience than I had at Spring with Dr. Hancock. She is exactly the type of doctor you hope to see in any setting.

All aspects of my care were very personalized. Dr. Hancock was familiar with my OB history and understood the purpose of my visit before I stepped into her office, which I appreciated. I can honestly say, I have never had a better patient care experience than I had at Spring with Dr. Hancock. She is exactly the type of doctor you hope to see in any setting.

I chose Dr. Yoder because of the detailed and clear explanation of the procedure she provided...generally responsive to emails, very efficient w the appts/checkups, and most importantly, I felt like she was willing to change the timeline of the retrieval to try to maximize the change of getting high quality eggs (the second time around, she delayed retrieval by 3-4 days, and I got 22 eggs instead of 13). This happened at a pretty rough time in my life (post-partner-breakup) -- completing this procedure, while never a guarantee, was a huge relief for me.

Blood draws were quick and easy. Operation day was smooth (it takes place on a different floor, fyi).

The first time around I was traveling/out of the country, and the ovulation kit tracker didn't work for me -- that said, we were still able to get a decent amount. The second time I was reliably in the city and we got much better results.

My work covered up to 20k (thank god) -- I had two procedures and ended up having to pay 5-6k out of pocket.
Dr.Fischer is very caring and friendly. She understands our needs and respect our choices. I got Covid during the process on day3 after I started my cycle, i think dr.fischer did adjust the treatment a little bit but in the end we are very satisfied with our result...is very nice and friendly, we love her energy and she is very patient...the result is perfect, we retrieved 21 in total, and in the end 19 of them are excellent and good.

Dr. Catha always walked into the exam room with enthusiasm and a smile...is clear, thorough, and candid (in the best way possible)...able to see Dr. Catha at every visit, and she performed my egg retrieval and my FET...prescribed a natural FET protocol for me, which involved progesterone pills and one trigger shot

How was your experience with Catha Fischer at Spring Fertility New York?
Dr. Catha always walked into the exam room with enthusiasm and a smile. After my first consultation with her, I knew I wanted her to be my fertility doctor. She is clear, thorough, and candid (in the best way possible). While I always entered every meeting a bit nervous to hear the outcomes, Dr. Catha made me feel at ease after I left the clinic. She is honest about the current status of your treatment and about future outcomes, which is super important during fertility treatment. Luckily, I was able to see Dr. Catha at every visit, and she performed my egg retrieval and my FET.
What's one piece of advice would you give a prospective patient of Catha Fischer at Spring Fertility New York?
This advice is moreso for anyone seeking fertility treatment in general. Before walking into my initial consult, I honestly didn't know much about fertility treatments and tests (Chlomid, IUI, IVF, HSG, Saline Sonogram, etc). While Catha took the time to explain our options, pros and cons, and timelines associated with each option, it's a lot to take in at the first meeting if you're not fully aware of them at all. I would advice prospective patients do a little research on their own to understand the options at a high level so that you don't walk into the consult blindly!
During treatment, were you treated like a number or a human with Catha Fischer at Spring Fertility New York?
Dr. Catha and everyone on her medical team never treated me just like any other patient. They thoroughly reviewed my history, results, and next steps before communicating them to me in a clear and optimistic way. Everyone was so kind during the process. Going through infertility is tough as is, but having an empathetic patient-oriented team helped me feel at ease through out the whole cycle.
Describe the protocols Catha Fischer used in your cycles at Spring Fertility New York and their degree of success.
After our initial consult, we knew we wanted to pursue IVF because it statistically has the highest chance of success, even though it is the most invasive. Following our consult, we informed Spring that we'd like to proceed right away.
Even though we struggled to get pregnant on our own, we didn't have any serious infertility diagnosis. It ultimately came down to ovulation timing a mild case of PCOS. Dr. Fisher wasn't worried and assured us that due to my age, health, and follicle count that we should have a high chance of success with one cycle.
We started with an HSG to confirm my tubes were clear. From there, I started the IVF injections after my menstrual cycle arrived. I did Gonal-F, Menopur, and Cetrotide (mid-way through) injections for about 12 days, and triggered with Lupron. Following any bloodwork at the clinic, Spring immediately updated me with dosage amount prior to my next injection. We had a successful egg retrieval. Following PGT-A testing, we ended up with 10 blasts. More than I was expecting!
My FET was about a month and a half following egg retrieval. The waiting period between retrieval and FET is long, but necessary for your body to recover and for you to prepare your uterine lining. Before transfer, I did a saline sonogram to ensure my uterine lining was normal. Dr. Fisher prescribed a natural FET protocol for me, which involved progesterone pills and one trigger shot. After the retrieval, I didn't have to take any supplemental medication.
After a few weeks of nerve-wracking waiting, two blood draws and ultrasounds later, we heard a heartbeat :)
Describe your experience with your nurse at Spring Fertility New York. (Assigned nurse: Maggie (and Samantha when Maggie was out))
I first met with Alyssa to schedule my appointments and discuss timeline. Following that, I primarily communicated with Maggie (my IVF nurse coordinator) and on occasion, Samantha, who covered for Maggie. Maggie always followed up with me on the same day following my appointments with next steps.
Communication from Spring would come as a phone call or as a message in the portal. If Spring wanted to communicate results, I usually got those in the form of a call, which I appreciate. For example, following egg retrieval and PGT-A test results, they called me to discuss results. It's always helpful to hear a human on the other end of the line!
With regards to in person staff... The front desk staff at the NYC location are super friendly! After just a few appointments, they knew me my name and always greeted me with a smile. The nurses that help out at your appointments are great. I usually dread getting my blood drawn, but the nurses at Spring are gentle!
Describe your experience with Spring Fertility New York.
Strengths:
Branding and cleanliness of the facilities. Easy to navigate website for those shopping around for clinics. Friendly and kind staff. Efficient appointments and convenient location.
Weaknesses:
I am not sure how other clinics work, but the one thing I think Spring can do better with is helping patients order refills for prescriptions. Spring set up my initial prescriptions for my injections, but refills are up to the patient to order through the partner pharmcy. You could always ask the nurse to help you calculate, but they do not place orders for you. You have to make sure that you order the right amount based on your updated protocol. This means you have to do some math and guesses as to how long your cycle might be and how many refills you may need. I think this is important to consider, especially if you're paying fully out of pocket for medication. Every dollar counts!
Describe your experience with your monitoring appointments at Spring Fertility New York.
Monitoring appointments are usually in the morning. The clinic can be quite crowded during this time. Spring is usually pretty efficient at getting you in and out of there within 15 minutes.
Describe the costs associated with your care under Catha Fischer at Spring Fertility New York.
Luckily, we had Progyny insurance. Our out of pocket costs will be around $3,000. For full cost of treatment, I'd advise you talk to Spring about your specific case!

Describe the specific things that went wrong at Spring Fertility New York.
In between the waiting period between the egg retrieval and FET, you may be prescribed birth control, which I was. After 10 or so days of birth control, you stop and wait until you get your period. Spring mentioned to me that I should message them "after my first full flow". However, after I stopped BC, I only ever spotted and never experienced a full flow period like I typically do in a normal cycle. I messaged Spring to ask if this was normal, but was told to keep waiting until my first full flow. When I saw Dr. Fisher for my saline sonogram, she said BC makes your period weird so light spotting is totally normal. This was probably just a minor misunderstanding/miscommunication between the nurses and the doctor, so I am glad Dr. Fisher was able to assure me that I was ready to start the FET protocol.
Dr. Yoder was professional, caring and thorough...listened to what my goals were and never pressured me to make a decision or proceed with treatment before I was sure. She was upfront about what I could potentially expect, given my age, and what my options were if I wanted to wait longer before freezing my eggs - she was kind and understanding but was also direct and didn't sugar coat anything...
I found Spring Fertility to be very organized, welcoming, compassionate and dedicated to their patients. Even the front desk staff and medical assistants were really friendly and welcoming, which is not always the case in medical settings. It sometimes took a bit longer to get answers to some of the financial questions, but all of my questions (even the financial ones) were always answered and I knew who I could reach out to for more information...

Describe the costs associated with your care under Nicole Yoder at Spring Fertility New York.
It was $9,750 for the cycle plus the cost of medications. I was fortunate that my insurance covered the cost of the medications so I only paid around $400 (out of pocket it would have been $4,400). Plus the cost of storage fees which are $960 per year. One of the reasons I chose Spring Fertility is that they offer a payment plan (doesn't include storage fees or medications) so I am able to pay off the cost of the cycle at $245 per month for 40 months.
Dr. Klatsky used a low-dose more natural approach knowing a higher dose treatment strategy would not change my outcome. Though I only had 2 egg retrievals with [him], I think his strategy paid off as the quality of my eggs seemed to have improved over my retrievals from the past. You can tell at every monitoring appointment he thought seriously about how I was progressing and adjusted and customized my protocol accordingly. It made me feel like I was in the best of hands.
It was great that I had 1 nurse to work with the entire time under the care of [Spring Fertility]. I felt like she knew me well, communicated everything with detail and care...Gorgeous, state-of-the-art facility. Compared to my previous clinic, I hardly had any wait time, was always greeted with a smile by Reception and was in and out during monitoring appointments in 15 minutes. Egg retrievals and my transfer was done so seamlessly as well. I always felt comfortable and supported.
How was your experience with Peter Klatsky at Spring Fertility New York?
From my 1st consultation to my last appointment when I was 8 weeks pregnant, I always felt supported by Dr. Klatsky. He always thoroughly explained things to me, went through pros and cons if there were any, and just showed he really cared. He's one of the best doctors I have ever met and I would highly recommend him to anyone seeking fertility treatments!
During treatment, were you treated like a number or a human with Peter Klatsky at Spring Fertility New York?
Dr. Klatsky is an excellent doctor. With me, he was always extremely thoughtful, taking into account my unique case and coming up with an action plan while explaining it all to me in detail. You can tell he cares immensely for his patients. He personally called me multiple times to deliver the results of my retrievals and testing which made me feel very connected to him and his practice.

I believe the costs were typical compared to other NY-based clinics but I fortunately had the majority of my costs covered by insurance.

Dr. Hancock really listened to me and understood that my previous clinic wasn’t meeting my expectations. She had an alternative plan which is something I didn’t even know was possible at the time. The care with her was like night and day. I felt like a number at my last clinic and I felt like a patient, a human, with Dr. Hancock...Dr. Hancock walked me through a new custom plan and also explained all of the ways they’d change things up for better results. How was your experience with Kolbe Hancock at Spring Fertility New York?
I had been attending a different clinic before seeing Dr. Hancock and I had a poor experience, three rounds of IVF, one round completely failed. I was treated like a number and when I asked my old clinic for a new plan they told me just to have faith. Dr. Hancock walked me through a new custom plan and also explained all of the ways they’d change things up for better results. Something else I REALLY appreciated is that Dr. Hancock suggested that during my egg retrieval she’d also do a biopsy (can’t remember if this was for endo or the test to see how long you should wait to transfer). Either way I was super nervous about it because typically they do not provide pain management for this procedure, so I was blown away when this plan was offered.
Dr. Hancock also regularly called me to check in and would ask if I had questions. I never felt rushed. At my last “big” clinic I never had that kind of care.
What's one piece of advice would you give a prospective patient of Kolbe Hancock at Spring Fertility New York?

Describe your experience with Spring Fertility New York.
Spring is a great clinic. One of my top concerns going here was that I felt clinics like NYU (my previous clinic) or Cornell, were best of the best because they’re well established and have that brand name. However, that comes with lots of pros and cons. One huge con for me was being just a number. And you’ll get that anywhere you go, but less so at Spring.
I felt like this clinic offered more individualized care and more importantly the ability to try more experimental approaches. NYU wouldn’t even suggest I take COq10 because it wasn’t proven through their research to be effective but with Spring, you’re offered SO many different approaches and treatments. For example they’re able to try ways to increase fertilization odds in their labs. With a big clinic you’re really just going to get the standard protocol.
Spring also treats you like a person. Dr. Hancock took the time to understand my situation and previous cycles.
Overall, I wish I didn’t wait so long to switch clinics.
*I do want to note that I ended up having a spontaneous pregnancy right before my 4th round of IVF. Spring was so great in handling the transition. I will absolutely be back for my next pregnancy.
