This is the most recent data from the CDC. The CDC cautions that it should not be used to compare doctors and clinics. This data represents the outcomes of IVF cycles when using a person's own eggs.
For more information please see our FAQs.
Where you see a “?” on the chart, a clinic has done fewer than 20 cycles in this category and age range, so the CDC says showing percentages from this small data set would be misleading and unreliable.
[Dr. Malinda Lee] was amazing. She spent a lot of time explaining each steps and also understood the pain the patient is going through. Even on day where I only go in for a blood draw, Dr. Lee will swing by to check if I am doing okay. Very thoughtful and caring doctor...Everyone was very professional and caring..
Everyone in the [Spring Fertility] clinic were very helpful including the finance team. Check in was fast and the team get you in very quickly as well. I enjoyed my visit every time. One note to improve is during the egg retrieval, maybe provide a thicker blanket during winter time as it can get pretty cold...Everyone was very professional and caring

[Dr. Lee] is knowledgeable and professional. She made me feel comfortable and I trust her. She is good natured and respected my time. She did not resent having to accommodate my crazy schedule. It was hard for me at first to deal with the [Spring Fertility] receptionist and the people scheduling my appointments. I told them upfront what I needed, and though they assured me at first that it wouldn't be a problem, it still was. If you are an insistent person, then you'd have a better experience than I did regarding scheduling.

Even on his busiest days, Dr. Harris' warmth and curiosity about his patients can be felt the second he enters a room. He's as sharp as he is quirky, and makes a concerted effort to broach every conversation and next step with kindness and transparency...while it's easy to look back on a successful pregnancy positively, I believe what sets [him] a part is how he handled our "failures." He knows how to balance the necessary problem-solving aspects of IVF with the socio-emotional needs of his patients...
Spring's strengths include their ease of accessibility (ie, expanded locations throughout the San Francisco Bay Area and east coast); their patient-facing learning and development opportunities; and their social media presence. There have only been a handful of hiccups we've encountered along the way (e.g., unclear timeline for further single gene testing results between Spring and testing clinic; delayed response from on-call physician in middle of night); but, none of these one-off issues had to do with our physician or careteam or do not reflect on our overall experience with the clinic.

Even on his busiest days, Dr. Harris' warmth and curiosity about his patients can be felt the second he enters a room. He's as sharp as he is quirky, and makes a concerted effort to broach every conversation and next step with kindness and transparency.
He's made some of the hardest and most emotional periods of my life feel more manageable than I ever thought possible; and, while it's easy to look back on a successful pregnancy positively, I believe what sets Dr. Harris a part is how he handled our "failures." He knows how to balance the necessary problem-solving aspects of IVF with the socio-emotional needs of his patients (which can at times be incongruent). We truly feel we won the lottery with him as our doctor.
What's one piece of advice would you give a prospective patient of Isiah Harris at Spring Fertility Silicon Valley?
Dr. Harris is really great at reading people and disambiguating esoteric medical termology; but, don't be afraid to speak up or ask questions when you have them. Overall, IVF can feel like a blur and even the most seasoned among us tend to forget the order of things. He'll never mind repeating information or writing down a process to help you see the big picture.
During treatment, were you treated like a number or a human with Isiah Harris at Spring Fertility Silicon Valley?
We were drawn to Dr. Harris' compassionate and down-to-earth approach to treatment immediately. When we began our journey at Spring, we had the opportunity to meet several of the reproductive endocrinology and infertility specialists - who were all great - but we felt a stronger connection to Dr. Harris (who happened to perform all our IUIs, though he wasn't our primary doctor at the time). After our third failed attempt with IUI, I remember telling Dr. Harris almost immediately that I wanted him to be our primary physician. That decision was made - in part - because he openly shared he and his wife's process of pursuing IUIs; helped us explore realistic treatment options and expectations; and also took the time to get to know us, our interests, and goals in life beyond parenthood (and actively remember stories we shared along the way)--all of which humanized the experience.
As much as I pushed for my husband and I to seek fertility treatment, I felt incredibly apprehensive about pursuing IVF since, even with the best doctors, the process can be taxing on the patient; but, after 3 IUIs, 2 retrievals, a successful pregnancy, and confirmed genetic disorder post-partum, I do not think I could have continued with any other doctor but Dr. Harris. He truly gives his all to his patients, and made our decision to pursue 2 additional retrievals and genetic testing cycles post-partum an incredibly easy one.
Describe the protocols Isiah Harris used in your cycles at Spring Fertility Silicon Valley and their degree of success.
We gradually increased our level of medical intervention over 3 IUI and 3 IVF cycles (ie, ICSI / Aygestin priming). Dr. Harris had determined that fully controlling my ovulatory cycle made the most sense for our case and, ultimately, resulted in singleton birth.
We plan to follow the same treatment plan for our next transfer(s) when we're ready to try for a second child later this year.
Describe your experience with your nurse at Spring Fertility Silicon Valley. (Assigned nurse: Michelle Chicas)
All of our nursing team(s) at Spring have been incredibly personable, responsive, and supportive throughout our IVF process; and, Michelle Chicas has been a constant resource and source of support even though she's no longer formally part of Dr. Harris care team.

All but IUI covered due to change in employer and fertility benefits (I believe each IUI was between ~$800-$1000 per session)
Describe Isiah Harris's approach to eSET (elective single embryo transfer) vs. multiple embryo transfer at Spring Fertility Silicon Valley.
We had (naively) asked Dr. Harris about the possibility of multiple embyro transfer and he explained why Spring does not condone it.
That being said, he still took our question seriously and gave us an abbreviated lesson in the risks and benefits associated with both approaches. (Needless to say, with a now-one-year-old in the midst of a pandemic, we can't believe we even entertained the idea of multiples!)
Dr Minjarez presented us with a presentation that went over in detail what we can expect...very knowledgeable and answered any questions or concerns that we had...natural IVF...on birth control for about 3 weeks...took Letrozole for 5 days. 4 days later, I triggered with Ovidrel and took Medrol for 5 days leading up the embryo transfer
[Spring Fertility Silicon Valley] was extremely clean and well organized...staff knew exactly what they were doing and were all very welcoming. Everything was on the app so it was easier for me to remember my appointments, medications, communicate with the staff, access my lab results, documents, etc.
How was your experience with Debra Minjarez at Spring Fertility Silicon Valley?
My husband and I came to Spring for a second opinion after our first IVF cycle failed with Kaiser and met with Dr Minjarez. During our initial consultation, Dr Minjarez presented us with a presentation that went over in detail what we can expect if we went with Spring and how this treatment would be different from my previous cycle. She was very knowledgeable and answered any questions or concerns that we had, from what we can do differently for our daily routines to what supplements to take when preparing for an egg retrieval. We felt super comfortable after that meeting and decided to go with Spring. From there, every step of the IVF process with Spring exceeded our expectations. We had an amazing egg and embryo count, and are now pregnant with our very first child. We can't thank Dr Minjarez and her team enough for this blessing!
What's one piece of advice would you give a prospective patient of Debra Minjarez at Spring Fertility Silicon Valley?
Definitely come to her and if you have any questions, don't hesitate to ask because she will give you an honest answer.

Describe the protocols Debra Minjarez used in your cycles at Spring Fertility Silicon Valley and their degree of success.
We went with a natural IVF cycle that followed my natural menstrual cycle. I was on birth control for about 3 weeks, had my baseline ultrasound a few days after, and took Letrozole for 5 days. 4 days later, I triggered with Ovidrel and took Medrol for 5 days leading up the embryo transfer. 2 weeks later, I got my first positive Beta pregnancy test!
Overall, the preparation and transfer took about 1.5 months (6 weeks).

The treatment cost are covered by Progyny fertility benefits for me
Even though I had read on FertilityIQ that other patients rarely saw Dr Tran, it was still a surprise to me in my first cycle for some reason. When I had questions about the medical terms in the multiple consent forms, they got answered by ancillary staff like my patient care advocate. Once I got to my second cycle, I didn't mind rarely seeing him and got used to it...For my embryo freezing procedure, I had a good experience overall with him, he set clear expectations and i had good results
All the [Spring Fertility Silicon Valley] rooms ares clean and bright and they are on time/ respectful of your time. Have coffee, snacks, water, bathroom is always clean and there are pads/ tampons. Also the OR, phlebotomy station, and clinic rooms are also clean...I quite liked the nurses. Also the anesthesiologist and team members in the OR with me on the day of egg retrieval made me feel very comfortable. I wasn't completely clear on the role of the care coordinator even after two cycles, for instance is she someone I ask medical questions or is she more of an admin role/ scheduling.

For my embryo freezing procedure, I had a good experience overall with him, he set clear expectations and i had good results. I appreciate him, the experience, and his staff.
If I were having fertility issues and in a bit more of an emotional state, not sure if I would prefer to have a doctor who I could see more often, maybe.
During treatment, were you treated like a number or a human with Nam Tran at Spring Fertility Silicon Valley?
He set expectations for # of cycles that were going to be needed at the initial consultation which ended up being accurate.
I didn't see or speak with him much which was not a complete surprise since I read the comments on this website (that he is a busy, smart doctor) prior to my consultation. He is otherwise nice from our few interactions.

first cycle took aygestin for 4-5 days when my period started

Describe Nam Tran's approach to eSET (elective single embryo transfer) vs. multiple embryo transfer at Spring Fertility Silicon Valley.
I think I was told single embryo transfer only, or else I read it in the consent form. No one really goes over the consent form with you. You read it at home and sign it and when you ask questions about it, it is sometimes hard to get a satisfactory answer
She [Dr. Vaughn] was patient and answered all of our questions, put me at ease and helped me understand when I thought something that was incorrect, offered to be there to chat even if it wasn't treatment specific...Once or twice it felt as though maybe she was rushed but it was understandable as it was just a monitoring visit and I did not have any questions. However, I felt like she truly understood the physical and mental toll the treatments and overall situation had on me.
my primary nurse [at Spring Fertility] was responsive and caring. The nursing staff were all thoughtful and even asked about how I was doing when I ran into one of them (Serena) in the lobby as I waited for a monitoring appointment...the only stressor put on by the clinic was the timing of when monitoring results came in (usually at around 1-2pm) which determined our doses for the next couple of days or not...but the window for ordering with same-day delivery closed at around the noon. So a couple of times we just had to order more.

What's one piece of advice would you give a prospective patient of Sara Vaughn at Spring Fertility Silicon Valley?
My advice would not be about her specifically because she was great, but I would let the prospective patient know to ask about medication that could potentially increase the number of eggs for a retrieval. I only learned about this right before our last round of retrieval following Dr. Vaughn getting input from other doctors at my case review. If I would have known this "everything and the kitchen sink" medication was available, we would have done it the first or second time around.

They were the best. my primary nurse was responsive and caring. the only stressor put on by the clinic was the timing of when monitoring results came in (usually at around 1-2pm) which determined our doses for the next couple of days or not, The medications are expensive so we were trying to order as close to needing as possible but the window for ordering with same-day delivery closed at around the noon. Dr. Lee was always ready to answer any questions I had during the treatment and followed up with me on the phone when necessary. Her care team was also very helpful and replied to emails promptly. When my medication had problems with the delivery, they assisted immediately...I am quite petite so I was on a low dose of injectable medication in my treatment. The results were very close to what the doctor told me. And I was explained that every cycle could have slightly different results.
My primary nurse [at Spring Fertility] was excellent. She spent time with me in person to go through the approach of doing self-injection. She helped me out when my medication delivery had problems. My care coordinator, Vander, was also wonderful. He was well organized, responded to emails promptly, and was a good communicator...Easy to schedule. Flexible to reschedule if you have conflicts...If your monitor appointment or egg retrieval is scheduled on the weekends, you may have a chance to meet another on-duty doctor other than your primary doctor.
How was your experience with Malinda Lee at Spring Fertility Silicon Valley?
Dr. Lee was patient to answer all questions I had and explained clearly. She always showed up with a smile and compassion. If I needed her, she would schedule a call with me and follow up in our next meet. As the clinic had an on-duty doctor on weekends (it might not be her), she would make sure I was being taken good care of by another doctor.

[Dr. Vaughn] was understanding but also top notch in technical proficiency! Best of both worlds. Didn't set too high of expectations but also was optimistic enough to keep head up throughout the process...Very friendly and personalized protocol. Remembered details about my life and checked with me constantly to ensure my mental and physical comfort...Mid-luteul egg freezing protocol. I was given the choice to do mid-luteul or another protocol that would additionally use birth control pills to help with timing, but mid-luteul fit my schedule better
The Sunnyvale location [of Spring Fertility] isn't in a very scenic spot, but it was out of way enough that there was no hustle and bustle of the city to worry about while going to my appointments. The clinic itself is very high end, and with very nice amenities and warm touches...$8950 for the total cost of egg retrieval. I am on a payment plan that splits this cost up with monthly payments of under $300 over 3 years. Medication was a one-time payment of a complete package of $3900. First consultation fee of $450 which includes doctor consultation, initial transvaginal ultrasound, and initial bloodwork.
How was your experience with Sara Vaughn at Spring Fertility Silicon Valley?
I have no real downsides to explain or review for Dr. Vaughn. She was an angel who was understanding but also top notch in technical proficiency! Best of both worlds. Didn't set too high of expectations but also was optimistic enough to keep head up throughout the process.

he [Dr. Isiah Harris] was compassionate, patient, and supportive. he also owned when mistakes happened and did his best to correct them...feels like he got to know us, gave good advice, kept it realistic and optimistic, personalized care...do you research, take notes, allow his experience and reassurance to comfort you
It [Spring Fertility - Sunnyvale] was a new clinic so a few kinks to work out, mainly because my embryos were made in SF and needed to be transferred to this location for the transfer which there was some confusion about...All staff were great and professional. Very empathetic and compassionate. the blood draws were a bit brutal. they needed more experience and even at my egg retrieval they had to have the anesthesiologist do my IV.

Dr. Harris is very optimistic and we used to joke that even if we didn't get the outcome we wanted we would feel better than if it were w/ another doctor. and we had been w/ another dr before. We had wanted to go with him when he was at a different clinic as he had previously completed a complex surgery on me. before we were able to he had left for spring and we tracked him down. he was compassionate, patient, and supportive. he also owned when mistakes happened and did his best to correct them.
What's one piece of advice would you give a prospective patient of Isiah Harris at Spring Fertility Silicon Valley?
do you research, take notes, allow his experience and reassurance to comfort you

Describe the protocols Isiah Harris used in your cycles at Spring Fertility Silicon Valley and their degree of success.
one egg retrieval using his general protocol, tested 3 embryos and 2 were good. 1 was transferred using "natural cycle" which I really liked due to not needing progesterone shots!

All staff were great and professional. Very empathetic and compassionate. the blood draws were a bit brutal. they needed more experience and even at my egg retrieval they had to have the anesthesiologist do my IV.
Describe your experience with Spring Fertility Silicon Valley.
It was a new clinic so a few kinks to work out, mainly because my embryos were made in SF and needed to be transferred to this location for the transfer which there was some confusion about. i think all of that has been worked out esp since sunnyvale has its own lab now!
Describe the costs associated with your care under Isiah Harris at Spring Fertility Silicon Valley.
approx 20k for cycle, 5k for transfer - doesn't include medication
Describe Isiah Harris's approach to eSET (elective single embryo transfer) vs. multiple embryo transfer at Spring Fertility Silicon Valley.

confusion about whether our embryos were still in SF or had been transferred to sunnyvale. in the end they were moved to sunnyvale and everything worked out just fine!
I had an excellent experience with Dr Vaughn during my two cycles of egg freezing...I definitely felt that my treatment was tailored for me...After my first cycle, I considered waiting a year for another cycle, but Dr. Vaughn was honest with me about her recommendations on waiting too long... I was able to save 64 eggs (an astounding number)...she was excellent with following up with me and checking that everything went well and that I was feeling ok physically
I appreciated that I was able to finance one of my cycles [with Spring Fertility]. I felt for the most part that everything was ran very smoothly...I appreciated that I was able to get seen at whichever clinic was close to me..It was also suggested to me that I might not need as much medication as most patients and so I forewent the medication package. I bought all my meds through Alto, and it ended up costing me about 2K less than the package, so I was thankful for the recommendation
How was your experience with Sara Vaughn at Spring Fertility Silicon Valley?
I had an excellent experience with Dr Vaughn during my two cycles of egg freezing at Spring Fertility. She was warm and always put me at ease when I had any concerns. She was very specific in her thoughts and suggestions on my treatment, which made me feel well cared for. I definitely felt that my treatment was tailored for me. She was knowledgable, trustworthy, patient, and excellent at explaining exactly how everything worked. After my first cycle, I considered waiting a year for another cycle, but Dr. Vaughn was honest with me about her recommendations on waiting too long. After the retrieval, she was excellent with following up with me and checking that everything went well and that I was feeling ok physically. In the end, I had 2 cycles (1 month apart), everything went excellently. I was able to save 64 eggs (an astounding number), and feel good about my prospect for having multiple children in the future. I loved Dr. Vaughn, and highly recommend her!! Due to covid, I was often not in the same location so I did not see her as often as I would have liked, but at no fault of hers.
What's one piece of advice would you give a prospective patient of Sara Vaughn at Spring Fertility Silicon Valley?
Starting the process might feel daunting, but if you know you want kids in the future, stop putting it off and just make an appointment. Prior to the consultation, I had no idea how anything worked, but Dr. Vaughn was able to easily educate me on the whole process. I'm so glad I did it when I did and didn't waste more years putting it off.
During treatment, were you treated like a number or a human with Sara Vaughn at Spring Fertility Silicon Valley?
Dr Vaughn felt very warm and sincere during our interactions. She put me at ease when she sensed a concern. I felt cared for and in good hands.
Describe the protocols Sara Vaughn used in your cycles at Spring Fertility Silicon Valley and their degree of success.
After the initial consultation, I was told that I had an outstanding number of follicles and was in the 99th percentile of women my age. It was also suggested to me that I might not need as much medication as most patients and so I forewent the medication package. I bought all my meds through Alto, and it ended up costing me about 2K less than the package, so I was thankful for the recommendation. I started with 2 weeks of pills, and then followed by a few days before about 10 days of injections. Everything was monitored closely with frequent blood draws and dosing was decided very carefully and adjusted as necessary. I also did not want to purchase more than I needed since the meds were quite pricey. In the end, I feel that the nurses and Dr. Vaughn did an excellent job of predicting exactly what I needed. Alto was also excellent and I could order something and have it delivered the same day. I also accidentally thought I could use my trigger med from the previous cycle and so I did not order it in time and Spring was able to help me out with that so I wouldn't miss my retrieval. I thought that was super accommodating, given that it was my mistake!
Describe your experience with your nurse at Spring Fertility Silicon Valley. (Assigned nurse: Anny)
I absolutely loved Anny! She was very easy to talk to, patient, and made me feel comfortable with treatment. She was easy to communicate with and available when I needed her. A few times she spent a while on the phone patiently going over all and any questions I had regarding treatment. Very happy I had her as my nurse!
Describe your experience with Spring Fertility Silicon Valley.
I appreciated that I was able to finance one of my cycles. I felt for the most part that everything was ran very smoothly. They were accommodating with where was getting seen, as I was living in SF at the time but working in Mountain View, and then during the pandemic I was also between places. I appreciated that I was able to get seen at whichever clinic was close to me. Throughout the course of the treatment, I was seen in Redwood City, Oakland, SF, and Mountain View (now Sunnyvale office). I felt that Spring was very flexible. The day of the operation, I felt in extremely good hands! All the doctors and nurses had excellent bedside manner and I never felt any pain or confusion about what was happening. All in all, I couldn't have asked for a better experience.
Describe the costs associated with your care under Sara Vaughn at Spring Fertility Silicon Valley.
Initial consultation with Dr Vaughn - $450
Then each cycle consisted of the following payments:
Treatment - $8,750 (I am able to finance one cycle with monthly payments of $244, no extra interested is added)
Medication from Alto - estimated $2400 (this will differ from person to person)
Then finally, I pay $650 annually for egg storage. This will be the same amount no matter how many cycles.
If you are looking for a warm, intelligent, and experienced provider, you could not do better than Dr. Vaughn...gave me extremely clear information on what I could expect (and what factors would be impossible to predict). I did a lot of my own research and sought to understand every aspect of the procedures I went through - Dr. Vaughn was patient with questions and clear in her answers.
The nursing staff [at Spring Fertility] was incredibly kind, warm, and really quick communicators. They were available by email and phone 24/7...Altogether a complete cycle (medicine + monitoring + retrieval + testing + freezing + frozen embryo transfer) cost about $30,000. Because we did the additional retrieval, our total was around $55,000...

If you are looking for a warm, intelligent, and experienced provider, you could not do better than Dr. Vaughn. There is a decent chance you will end up seeing at least a few other doctors in the practice due to the number of weekend apts you’ll have, and the good news is that everyone else I saw was fantastic as well. Spring clearly screens for warm personalities in addition to intelligence and fertility knowledge when hiring.
During treatment, were you treated like a number or a human with Sara Vaughn at Spring Fertility Silicon Valley?
Dr. Vaughn was the most warm, communicative, and patient provider I could have hoped for. I am fairly sensitive and would not have enjoyed working with someone with a subpar bedside manner - Dr. Vaughn’s compassionate approach to her practice was everything I could have asked for.

I don’t remember the details of my protocol

Describe your experience with Spring Fertility Silicon Valley.
I read a lot of “fertility diaries” about other people’s experiences in fertility treatments, and based on those I can say Spring was top notch. I did two egg retrievals and one transfer, and they were on time to the minute for all except for one of my appointments - which was only 15 minutes late. All of my treatments took place during COVID and while the facility was opening, which makes it even more impressive. They are organized, incredibly quick to respond, and everyone who works there is warm and kind. I can honestly say I did not notice any weaknesses.
Describe the costs associated with your care under Sara Vaughn at Spring Fertility Silicon Valley.
We did two retrievals and one frozen embryo transfer. Altogether a complete cycle (medicine + monitoring + retrieval + testing + freezing + frozen embryo transfer) cost about $30,000. Because we did the additional retrieval, our total was around $55,000. Our fertility insurance, Progyny, covered about $27,000 of that.
Describe Sara Vaughn's approach to eSET (elective single embryo transfer) vs. multiple embryo transfer at Spring Fertility Silicon Valley.
She [Dr. Sara Vaughn] and the team made the experience as smooth and painless as it could have possibly been...is so willing to explain each step in accessible language and you will feel more comfortable the more informed you are...explained clearly at our consult that the goal was one healthy baby and the rationale for transferring one embryo at a time. It made lots of sense to us.
[The staff at Spring Fertility] made the whole process so much more manageable and less lonely. They were both very responsive and helped avoid confusion by reaching out early and often to clarify instructions and just to check in. The Spring team are truly outstanding in what they do...The early morning appointments were very efficient and worked well for my schedule. I was usually seen immediately after arriving and was out the door in 15 minutes or less.
How was your experience with Sara Vaughn at Spring Fertility Silicon Valley?
Dr. Vaughn was so knowledgeable and shared her knowledge so freely that I felt a sense of trust in her from the get-go. She always greeted me warmly, explained each step of treatment thoroughly, and provided thoughtful answers to my many questions. Although I know I was far from her only patient, it felt like she remembered me well at each appointment and was able to comment on the specifics of my treatment. Dr. Vaughn was very friendly and I looked forward to seeing her at each appointment. She and the team made the experience as smooth and painless as it could have possibly been.
What's one piece of advice would you give a prospective patient of Sara Vaughn at Spring Fertility Silicon Valley?
If you are wondering something about your treatment, ask! Dr. Vaughn is so willing to explain each step in accessible language and you will feel more comfortable the more informed you are.
During treatment, were you treated like a number or a human with Sara Vaughn at Spring Fertility Silicon Valley?
I will always remember Dr. Vaughn telling me at our first meeting, "You are not broken." I didn't know how badly I needed to hear that until I heard it. Dr. Vaughn was warm, caring, communicative, and unbelievably professional. She worked with us to explain each step of treatment and set realistic expectations, and then celebrated with us when our results exceeded expectations. She always seemed glad to see me, provided helpful input, and was just generally a comforting presence. I felt very safe in her care.
Describe the protocols Sara Vaughn used in your cycles at Spring Fertility Silicon Valley and their degree of success.
I believe it was an antagonist protocol. I was on Menopur, Gonal-F and Cetrotide before my retrieval, and the injection period lasted 12 or 13 days. Dr. Vaughn monitored me often and adjusted my dosage as necessary. Her excellent judgment led to a highly successful egg retrieval (21 eggs) which resulted in 11 5-day blasts, 7 of which were PGS normal.
Describe your experience with your nurse at Spring Fertility Silicon Valley. (Assigned nurse: Anny)
Anny (nurse) and Zunaira (coordinator) were SO WONDERFUL. They were warm and friendly and communicative and felt like my buddies very early on. Their emotional support made the whole process so much more manageable and less lonely. They were both very responsive and helped avoid confusion by reaching out early and often to clarify instructions and just to check in. The Spring team are truly outstanding in what they do.
Describe your experience with Spring Fertility Silicon Valley.
Strengths--Everyone we worked with treated us kindly. Although I received treatment at a total of 4 locations (Mountain View, San Francisco, Sunnyvale, and Redwood City) the consistency in treatment and the excellent communication amongst staff created a feeling of continuity over the course of our care. The clinics themselves are comfortable, very clean, and have a friendly and not overly clinical feeling. It was especially interesting (and reassuring) to be able to see into the lab at the SF location from the treatment room. The staff are consummate professionals and always made us feel valued and cared for. The sweet flowers and card they sent after my transfer had me in tears--I just can't imagine a better team to guide us on this very long road.
Weaknesses--honestly, almost nothing. Our treatment happened to coincide with the move from Mountain View to Sunnyvale, as well as the holidays, which meant we occasionally bounced around locations--but the fact that someone showed up on Thanksgiving to give me an ultrasound was remarkable enough to make it worth the drive!
Describe your experience with your monitoring appointments at Spring Fertility Silicon Valley.

We were incredibly fortunate to have out entire cycle covered with Progyny.
Describe Sara Vaughn's approach to eSET (elective single embryo transfer) vs. multiple embryo transfer at Spring Fertility Silicon Valley.
Dr. Vaughn explained clearly at our consult that the goal was one healthy baby and the rationale for transferring one embryo at a time. It made lots of sense to us.
Dr. Vaughn was warm, compassionate, but she never made me feel like she would compromise scientific rigor just to tell me what I wanted to hear. That engendered a lot of trust between us...I had an exceptionally positive experience with Dr. Vaughn, and not just because we had an outcome that exceeded all expectations (frozen 27 eggs when I was fully prepared to be happy with 10). I appreciated how forthcoming she was with information, how she answered all my questions and never appeared rushed. I felt that she offered the perfect balance of honesty and warmth, and I could not imagine a better RE for this step in my journey.
Anny [from Spring Fertility] was super prompt and helpful in her responses. When I was having a very hard time on birth control (emotionally speaking), she worked with me to adjust our approach in the middle of treatment so I never felt like I was sacrificing my mental health...$8750 for egg freezing plus a few hundred for the initial consultations, plus medications. The bulk of the cost is going to be embryology and transfer, so I am bracing myself.

New equipment, everything is top notch and sparkling shiny-- but you (or your employer) will pay for it-- even by Bay Area standards, this is a pricey clinic. Good thing is that all the financial information is transparent so you know what you are getting into.

Describe Sara Vaughn's approach to eSET (elective single embryo transfer) vs. multiple embryo transfer at Spring Fertility Silicon Valley.
We have not gotten to embryo transfer yet, but my sense is that Dr. Vaughn would be cautious.
Dr. Vaughn is extremely knowledgable, caring, and warm. She made me feel comfortable and it was easy to relax around her. She was always available to answer questions and walk me through every step of the process...she adjusted my second protocol to go after a different group of eggs that grew more slowly, but this resulted in more eggs being retrieved!
Spring is a great facility with wonderful amentities. It feels welcoming to walk in the door and the staff is always there for you. The newer office in Mountain View could actually use a bit of a facelift to make as nice as their others. The retrieval location in SF was very nice as well. It makes you feel going walking in the door.
How was your experience with Sara Vaughn at Spring Fertility Silicon Valley?
Dr. Vaughn cared deeply for me as a patient and for the success of my treatment. During my second egg freezing cycle I had two groups of eggs growing at different rates. Dr. Vaughn made the excellent call to let the first set go as she believed (and was correct) that the second group would produce more viable eggs to freeze. I believe this was a tricky dicision and she nailed it.
Every visit I felt welcomed and relaxed in the office and in the presence of Dr. Vaugn and her nurses. The were always available for question and Dr. Vaughn talked to me at any time of day/night to answer concerns I had.
The only thing I did not cover too much up front or perhaps the information did not stick with me were if there would be any adverse effects. Understanding that in more detail may have been good.
What's one piece of advice would you give a prospective patient of Sara Vaughn at Spring Fertility Silicon Valley?
I have already recommended Dr. Vaughn to 3 of my friends who are also going through fertility concerns, she was a wonderful doctor and I will continue to recommend her to people!

Dr Harris is wonderful. He was always very positive but realistic with our chances of conceiving. He treats you like he is always excited to see you...he was always patient with my questions and made sure I had a full understanding of not only my options but what the process would be like...We did three tries of the IUI with medication, which didn’t pan out for us. We were given a chance to keep trying with IUI but preferred to go with IVF
The nursing staff [at Spring Fertility] were wonderful! They made sure I was calm throughout the procedures and would talk me through things that they could tell I was nervous about...The clinic was great. We started this process pre-COVID, and had to take a break when everything by shut down. The clinic and staff kept us up to date and informed of re-opening and all their new COVID safety protocols.

Dr. Harris is a great doctor. At the consultation he was kind and explained all the options we had for starting our fertility journey. We did have an issue with communication with one of our patient coordinators. She was not great with communication and gave us late information which forced us to delay taking medication. However, when we informed Dr Harris of our unhappiness with the coordinator, he immediately got on the phone and had the person changed. Within minutes, we were working with another coordinator who called us later that day to introduce herself and give us her direct contact information should we need anything.

Dr. Lee takes the time to fully understand your history and discuss your specific situation with you. She is extremely knowledgeable and is able to explain things on both a high and detailed level. Although my partner and I (both persons with advanced degrees) had done extensive research before deciding on Dr. Lee, we remained continually impressed with her excellent mix of professionalism and bedside manner. She exceeded expectations...
No wait times, easy scheduling, clean and modern facilities. I liked the fact that while you had a primary physician [at Spring Fertility], you were able to schedule visits with other doctors (all great) to adjust to your schedule. My partner and I both work 80 plus hour weeks so this was very helpful. Regardless of whom I saw, Dr. Lee (my primary doctor) was always on top of my file and tried to accommodate me every time despite my extremely strict schedule
How was your experience with Malinda Lee at Spring Fertility Silicon Valley?
We really could not recommend her more. If I could have been her patient through delivery, I would have done so immediately!
Even as my husband and I were navagating various issues outside of her speciality, I ended up going back to get her input on an unofficial basis as there was not any person whose opinion I respected more. My primary doctor is wonderful, but there is no comparison. The way Dr. Lee approaches responses is, for me, the perfect mix of compassion, caring and technical knowledge.

Doctor Sara Vaughn starts with a plan and optimize it according to individual results to the process. For example in my case doctor decided to start with IUI because it looks to be apt process for me but in middle my body didn't responded well to the decided plan and so with mutual discussion we decided to go for IVF without any further delay which saved my time and energy. She will make her decisions based on blood work and ultrasound. She follows all the guidelines and protocols stated by state of California and their clinic.

Spring fertility only allows single embryo transfer.
She [Dr. Debra Minjarez] was kind and explained the procedure well. The follow-ups were quick and helped that I had other friends who were there to answer my question and my nurses. They could have done a better job telling me when we would want to start the cycle and for me to track it better....Debra is patient and does answer your questions...
[Spring Fertility Silicon Valley] Strengths: convenience; organized; clean Weaknesses: can be better at explaining the initial timing and start criteria; some doctors in clinic can be more empathetic The clinic is doing a great job overall...The nurses are the most helpful as you usually chat or get on the phone with them...Maryam was the best nurse. She went above and beyond to take care of me and answer my questions. I am really inquisitive.
How was your experience with Debra Minjarez at Spring Fertility Silicon Valley?
Debra is patient and does answer your questions. The nurses are the most helpful as you usually chat or get on the phone with them. My initial consultation was with Nam Tran and I asked to switch doctors as the founder who worked at multiple places, I didn’t think I would get the best care and attention. Debra was much better and I felt more human.
What's one piece of advice would you give a prospective patient of Debra Minjarez at Spring Fertility Silicon Valley?
She is great. If you don’t like your original consultation and don’t get a good vibe or feeling, feel free to switch.
During treatment, were you treated like a number or a human with Debra Minjarez at Spring Fertility Silicon Valley?
She was kind and explained the procedure well. The follow-ups were quick and helped that I had other friends who were there to answer my question and my nurses. They could have done a better job telling me when we would want to start the cycle and for me to track it better. I was asked to do bloodwork multiple times which would have cost way more than the fertility strips. I had to advocate for myself and said “no thanks you. I will let you know when the timing is right using strip cs another $500 for bloodwork”
