This is the most recent data from the CDC. The CDC cautions that it should not be used to compare doctors and clinics. This data represents the outcomes of IVF cycles when using a person's own eggs.
For more information please see our FAQs.
Where you see a “?” on the chart, a clinic has done fewer than 20 cycles in this category and age range, so the CDC says showing percentages from this small data set would be misleading and unreliable.
I appreciated that Dr. Agarwal presented the options to me and didn't push one or the other. He seemed to grasp how difficult the decisions were for us to make. One thing that really was off putting was that he didn't share with me what certain imaging results were and didn't seem to link together multiple tests that may be of concern.... He wasn't incredibly personable or warm. I felt like he had a large patient load and I often felt like I was asking too many questions and keeping him from other patients.
[at UCSD] Parking is paid, which is inconvenient. Wait time are OK, sometimes less than 5 minutes, sometimes more than 15. There is no WIFI down in the lower level of the building, so bring something to read or do. It wasn't usually difficult to get someone on the phone, and they doctors and coordinators usually got back to questions within a day.

We did one IUI, then a laparoscopy (based on my wishes). He said we could go straight to IVF, but said it might be good to try IUI first.

They failed to tell me what my astral follicle count was during two ultrasounds. They also failed to tell me that my count was on the lower end for age. They scheduled the wrong procedure (hysteroscopy instead of laparoscopy) and had to change the time of the surgery. They made a follow-up appointment verbally, but then did not put it in the system, so I had to call to re-book.
He [Agarwal] made the treatments personalized. He made sure my husband and i both realized what was going on....He does have interns and learning doctors in with you, so I feel like it’s not really one on one. But he doesn’t make you feel uncomfortable or like you’re just a test subject. He makes you feel safe....He made sure to test my husband for a sperm analysis , every doctor was saying he was fine. But he didn’t think he was.
It’s kinda of a hard place to find but they [UCSD] do have valet parking. During my first visit everyone was so nice and they were super understanding that my husband wasn’t able to be there due to being active duty. They made sure to explain his test and my test and what to expect....They are all super compassionate and they understand what you’re going through. They explain the procedures very well and they make sure you understand every recap of the visit.

He [Dr. Sanjay Agarwal] has a good bedside manner. He lets the residents and fellows do the exam and procedures which is not something I was expecting or was explained to me in advance. When I did ask for him to do the procedure, he talked about it in front of the fellow and resident whom I didn’t want to offend so it was uncomfortable...He was very kind and thoughtful. Was empathetic about previous miscarriage.
The relationship they [UCSD] have with the men’s clinic and the laboratory is not great. It makes me wonder what the working relationships are internally. If you want something, you need to go in and advocate for yourself. Dr Antoni Duleba did not give up on my stubborn ovaries that kept refusing to ovulate. He always had plan of action and had such a great attitude that made me feel like we were on the right path. I am now expecting my second child. My experience with him compared to the OBGYN I saw during my first pregnancy is completely different. Wish I would have seen Dr. Duleba sooner...Combination of various Metformin, Letrezole and Clomid dosages...
Parking at the Genesee location [UCSD] is awful! Small spaces and you have to pay as well. I went to this clinic often, but that is my only complaint. I never tried the valet, but might have been easier than parking yourself...Amanda and her counterparts were all very responsive via MyChart and were very compassionate during my visits...Combination of various Metformin, Letrezole and Clomid dosages....
