Dr. Christman is an extremely intelligent and experience doctor. When I was choosing a fertility specialist, I looked up Dr. Christman, and was very happy to see that he has not only won awards (such as Top 1% of US Reproductive Endocrinologists), he has also published and/or participated in numerous research papers and trials and several of them were dealing with exactly what I am diagnosed with. I felt that I was in capable hands with him, and have never doubted that he would come up with an appropriate care plan based on my PCOS diagnosis. From the minute I would be in the exam room or office for my visit, I knew that he would devote all of his attention to my treatment and take the time to discuss everything thoroughly, compassionately, and knowledgeably. He used the information that we gained from each failed attempt to guide the next cycle's treatment.

I would tell them to always ask questions and share their feelings about treatment options. Dr. Christman has most likely had experience about that treatment and can explain everything so that you are fully informed about everything.

Once I was officially diagnosed with PCOS, Dr. Christman proposed that we try several cycles of Clomiphene (Clomid) as I was not ovulated regularly on my own. Clomid would make me ovulate and we did several cycles of timed intercourse. Although I did ovulate, we did not get pregnant, and Dr. Christman proposed we try Letrozole since some women respond better to this drug. I did ovulate on letrazole for several cycles and these cycles also failed. We went on to clomid with an added hcg trigger shot (to force ovulation once the follicle or follicles were mature enough to be released) and eventually added in more monitoring with beginning, mid, and end of cycle ultrasounds. We also most recently tried follistim injections with an hcg injection for 3 cycles, along with very frequent monitoring (bloodwork throughout the cycle, sometimes as frequent as every other day to check my estrogen levels and progesterone and ultrasounds to monitor follicle size). I liked that Dr. Christman tried the least invasive, simple treatments first and methodically went on to prescribe different treatments based on results from the previous cycle. Unfortunately, we have never gotten a positive pregnancy test, but I never doubted that Dr. Christman's treatment plans were the problem.

I usually paid between $35-40 for office visits, and bloodwork was free with my insurance. I typically paid $50 for clomid and around the same for Letrozole, and medroxyprogesterone was about $10. When doing the follistim injections (3 cycles) I spent about $70 for each vial of the medication, and over those cycles probably spent around $250 dollars. During the most recent cycles, there was much more frequent monitoring with ultrasounds that were $40 each visit, so I would usually pay around $200 per cycle.

Myself and my husband seen Dr. Williams for our consultation appointment. He was very blunt and to the point. As this was our first time seeing a fertility specialist we didn’t know any better or what to expect. Dr. Williams diagnosed me with PCOS without checking any bloodwork. He based it off of my irregular periods. I’m not saying I don’t have PCOS I just don’t believe he did everything to give me a true diagnosis. I only seen Dr. Williams at the consultation and my final appointment. At my final appointment he was very rude and I waited about 45 min to see him. I did four rounds of oral letrozole and then at my final appointment he stated IUI or IVF were my only options. When at my first consult he said we would do 4-6 rounds of oral letrozole and then 4-6 rounds of clomid. My progesterone was over 10 one month (which is what they look for it to be) and he couldn’t find that in my paper work he had in front of him. So I pulled up MyChart to show him and he said “well it only worked once.” I didn’t feel right being there once he said that and then he sent me to financial to discuss IVF prices. He made me feel like a number and never that he was truly there for me, my husband or you help us. He just wanted our money.

Go somewhere else!!!

We did four rounds of oral letrozole. Every month when I would start my period I would do an ultrasound then days 5-9 I would take the medication. On day 23 of my cycle each time they would check my progesterone. We did this because I had irregular periods and didn’t ovulate on my own.

Approximately 40$ for each appointment, insurance covered most oral medications. 300$ for sperm analysis for my husband.

Strengths: she cares, she is straightforward, she is very thorough and helps you understand what and why you’re doing things. She answers all questions. Weakness: not in clinic 5 days a week so I did have an iui done with another doc who I didn’t like as much

Clomid with iui for three rounds. 3rd round of iui with clomid also had a trigger shot for better accuracy. All led to negative pregnancy tests. Next step is fetilization shots with iui but currently treatment stopped due to COVID

My copay for clomid was $3.00 The sperm sample was $300 The clinic visits were $35 copay The iui were $200

We love Dr. Rhoton! She keeps us updated at all times. She checks on me thoroughly throughout the process to make sure the dosage is right and we’re progressing properly. She makes us feel comfortable and encourages that we ask as many questions as possible.

We don’t have any advice to give in regards to being a patient of Dr. Rhoton’s. She makes the whole experience comfortable and informative.

With my IUI’s, she was always sure to explain everything thoroughly and made it clear that if we were producing too many eggs, that for my own health, we would need to cancel. She’s always focused on the safety of her patients first and foremost. After seeing how my body responded, she adjusted my dosage and watched me very closely as to make sure not to overstimulate me.

We had 1 cancelled IUI, 1 complete IUI and we are undergoing 1 cycle of IVF currently. Looking to have spent approximately $20k

I really appreciated Dr Rhoton’s bedside manner, explanations, compassion and thoughtfulness. However, there were some things that happened or the way in which things happened that make me question her knowledge. Perhaps I am a complicated case (and she has been totally helpful and supportive of us going out of state to a larger more well-known IVF center to continue treatment), but our egg retrieval resulted in unexpectedly small number of eggs retrieved (5-6 is what we were expecting based on ultrasounds and we only got 2). Secondly, she never tested my ovarian reserve for almost a year and a half. It was only until I decided to do IVF (after failed medicated IUIs) that she tested my ovarian reserve and we discovered I do have a low reserve for my age (prior to this we had just been given the diagnosis of unexplained infertility). Had I known this information from the beginning, we probably would have jumped straight to IVF rather than wasting precious time doing the other treatments. Dr. Rhoton is very open to your thoughts and questions, so if you go to her just make sure to educate and advocate for yourself. I wish i had pushed for the ovarian reserve test.

Educate yourself and don’t be afraid to advocate for yourself.

Be aware that some of the ultrasound appointments will only be staffed by the nurses. I would have preferred to see the doctor for those.

Given our insurance and being in-network with them, our IVF cycle (which did not include a transfer) was only about $6-7k

believe the only times I ever saw him were once during my consultation which included a diagnosis, and when he performed the tubal flushing at the hospital. He was very matter of fact during the consultation/diagnosis, which was a very shocking and difficult moment for me. I was completely blindsided. At the tubal flushing he was a bit warmer. I never saw him in person again, and all of the treatments and follow-ups were performed by the nurses.

Don't expect to see him very much.

He looked at the cycle record I had kept and basal temperature log and diagnosed me as PCOS annovulatory. He prescribed the tubal flushing, and then clomid at a low dose for one failed cycle and then a second cycle. At that point he upped the dose for the third cycle, and thankfully I became pregnant then and delivered a healthy baby.

She clearly didn't know who I was as a patient. The nurses did most of the work, including reading ultrasounds. Ultimately, someone missed the fact that I ovulated during an injectable iui cycle and even though I was already pregnant and bleeding from an ectopic the doctor on call did an IUI anyway and told me it was not likely to work (the charged me for it). Despite my calling about pain and bleeding it took several more days before they did a pregnancy test and discovered the ectopic pregnancy. When I went for my initial "what happened" appointment she said that the ectopic was likely caused by Endometrosis. When I went back several months later to discuss cycling again she told me I didn't have it. In sum, I felt like she didn't care about my treatment or me, and I wasted thousands of dollars (out of pocket/no insurance) on treatmemt with her and at least a year of time when I would have been better off seeing a different doctor - any different doctor.

jacksonville and Tampa are closer than you think - it is worth the drive.

We did several clomid challenges, 3 IUIs with Climid only, 3 IUIs with clomid+injectibles and some IUIs with just injectibles.

Dr. Williams was very kind and compassionate. He explained to me what happened to my donor embryo and that the one that did survive may not result in a live birth. Due to the nature of the visits he was very sensitive and caring.

He is very honest and has a good sense of humor. Be honest with him.

Very pleasant and I feel very confident that with her help I can eventually get pregnant. She explained all options and outcomes in great detail. I completely understand what needs to be done, we are just being held back financially.

Be open with her. She truly wants to help you get pregnant.

Before coming to Alice, I had already had blood work, HSG test, ultrasound, and my husband had semin analysis. All pointed to unexplained infertility. My husband and I have been trying to get pregnant for 2.5 years. We decided to come to Alice to take the next steps. She started by doing an ultrasound while on my period to clear me to start clomid. I had blood work to confirm ovulation and IUI the day after I tested positive for ovulation in urine. I did not become pregnant this first round of IUI.

The ultrasound and blood work was covered under my insurance with copay, but I had to pay out of pocket for the IUI and fertility drugs.

I really enjoy going to her and I really feel that she will do whatever she needs to get that couple pregnant. She is very thorough when explaining things. When she did my HSG--she walked me through every step and helped me understand what was going on.

We first did an entire evaluation and she determined we were unexplained fertility. She gave us our options and we decided to wait a couple of months to do anything. Then we started the first step, 50mg of clomid and IUI. We are currently in the tww. If it didn't work we will try 2 more times.

Most are covered under insurance. My last IUI was $362

Dr. Christman is hard to communicate with. He always interrupts when you are trying to talk to him or ask him a question. I was frustrated because he "made" us do IUIS with less than 2% chance of them working.

Only see him if you do not want to talk and want the doctor to talk over you

He had us do 2 iuis with clomid and no monitoring. With our male factor issues this was a huge waste of money for a 2% chance it would work. He did this because he said once he had a patient get pregnant with a sperm count of 300,000 so he thought we might too though we mostly wanted to move to IVF.

IUI was pretty affordable there. Less than 1000 each time. However we did not use injectables or do any monitoring to confirm ovulation per the doctor.

I used letrozole and switched to clomid as I didn’t ovulate with letrozole. We added a trigger with IUI and we confirmed ovulation but never had any success. We’re starting IVF this summer

Cost has been relatively low. $297 semen analysis, insurance has covered mostly all ultrasounds and blood work. My IVF cost is covered 70% by insurance and because of my employer discount and insurance I’m quoted around $4,000 out of pocket without medications for IVF

The best way to describe him, is Jolly. He is always happy and a pleasure to be around. You can tell he loves his job. He is very thorough and explains things with detail. He makes you feel like you are his only patient at that time.
