This is the most recent data from the CDC. The CDC cautions that it should not be used to compare doctors and clinics. This data represents the outcomes of IVF cycles when using a person's own eggs.
For more information please see our FAQs.
Where you see a “?” on the chart, a clinic has done fewer than 20 cycles in this category and age range, so the CDC says showing percentages from this small data set would be misleading and unreliable.
She [Dr. Chauhan] isn't the type to hold your hand and tiptoe around. She's very direct, but at the same time she cares on a personal level...We did one antagonist and then one agonist cycle. My fifth transfer was to be the last one before we started discussing more aggressive treatments, but that was the one that resulted in my daughter...
The [UMass Memorial] clinic as a whole is disorganized. They share a space with a general OB/GYN clinic and I can't stress enough how much it sucks to come in for an appointment and be surrounded by some of Worcester's finest with bellies the size of basketballs. Whoever decided that was a good idea is a total masochist. Also had issues where the lab wasn't staffed for morning bloodwork or the secretaries completely bungled my appointment scheduling...

Describe your experience with your nurse at UMass Memorial. (Assigned nurse: Pauline)
Although I also dealt with Laura Jean, Pauline was my primary nurse and she was amazing through every step of the process. She was compassionate and knowledgable and would call just to make sure that I was okay. Laura Jean was also wonderful, and always was able to make me laugh even through some of the worst times of my life.

Secretary completely screwed up my SHG appointment and tried to tell me I couldn't have my results/see the doctor for a month after the procedure. Was totally rude about it, too. Pauline straightened it out in about 10 seconds. There were also two occasions where I called and left voicemails on the general line (for some insane reason the nurses don't have direct voicemail) and never got called back. The nurses confirmed that they never got the messages and were completely horrified and apologetic.
Dr Johnson and her nurse took the time the explain every detail, make sure I was put into the schedule even if that meant staying late/arriving early, and called to explain testing results- good or bad... She is very sweet and thorough with appointments. Makes sure you understand what is happening and listens to your concerns. She was willing to do additional testing for conditions that I felt I may have symptoms of, and didn’t make me feel bad for using google to help understand infertility.... If you want to fast track to IVF let that be known
The hours [UMass Memorial] were great, early mornings for ultrasound and blood work were important to me. They are currently looking to get an ivf clinic at this site which would be great. Otherwise you need to travel for ivf... Laura Jean was my go to lady. She understood that I worked during that day and would do her best to call during hours I was out of work to help eliminate playing phone tag. She was incredibly compassionate, and make the experience less stressful... Dr Johnson and her nurse took the time the explain every detail,

She [Dr. Johnson] has a great bedside manner. She takes the time to talk with you and call you...She does all consults but IUI and ultrasound are performed by staff. She did the HSG though...
I have only spoken with them [UMass Memorial] on the phone. They once called and said I was good to go on an IUI only to call back and say there was a mistake bc they didn't see that the egg was on the side that was blocked. That was frustrating as I feel care should always be taken to read the chart first...Go for an early morning apt. The lab is kind of hit or miss...

I have a blocked tube. She did not think unblocking would necessarily solve the problem. Sometimes I wonder if I should have just done the procedure anyway because I felt I lost a few months trying while I waited for new insurance to kick in that would cover IUI. She said I only had a small chance the tube would stay open.
