Attention to Detail

Attention to detail is on a 1 - 10 scale, and is scored based on the rate, and severity, of errors committed by the clinic according to the patients.

For example, a severe error might be failing to inform a patient of critical information, while a small error might be failing to call a patient with results.

CDC Success Rates

This is the most recent data from the CDC. The CDC cautions that it should not be used to compare doctors and clinics. This data represents the outcomes of IVF cycles when using a person's own eggs.

For more information please see our FAQs.

Where you see a “?” on the chart, a clinic has done fewer than 20 cycles in this category and age range, so the CDC says showing percentages from this small data set would be misleading and unreliable.

[Dr. Rizk] ordered labs and ultrasounds. The ultrasounds were to just verify my diagnosis of PCOS...He was really trying to get me ready to started the IVF process but finances stopped us from moving forward...He did say that they like to do at least two embryos just in case one didn't make it, maybe the other one would. He was saying that each cycle is so expensive that maybe this would help out with the cost.
the labs for my husband and I was 500 each if it was covered by our insurance if not 1000 each [at University of South Alabama]...Very nice clinic. It is a little busy...The staff is very professional and try to get you in and out but they do have a lot of patients that they work with. My overall experience was a good one...She [nurse] was very informative about the process and what to expect just not as sensitive to our needs as the doctor was. When we found out that the doctor wanted to do IVF and he told her to get the process started, financially we through the clinic was going to work with us but that wasn't the case. We were trying to find out our options and others to get help but she wasn't very helpful with that. She just informed us that our insurance wouldn't pay.
How was your experience with Botros Rizk at University of South Alabama (closed)?
Dr. Rizk was awesome. Compared to coming from Dr. Inge at the Center of Reproductive, Dr. Rizk was heaven sent. He spoke to my husband and I as humans. He understood that we had be trying for a while and how sensitive this situation was to us. He showed a lot of compassion and explained everything well. He gave us hope!
What's one piece of advice would you give a prospective patient of Botros Rizk at University of South Alabama (closed)?
Just be open. He's very understanding and sensitive to his patients needs.
During treatment, were you treated like a number or a human with Botros Rizk at University of South Alabama (closed)?
I felt like I was treated like a human because Dr. Rizk really showed compassion towards my husband and I. He really tried to get the ball rolling in making our dream a reality. But when he recommended IVF as our best option, it was a setback for us best IVF is so expensive. Dr. Rizk continued to work with his nurse practitioner to try and help but we just wasn't able to do it financially.
Describe the protocols Botros Rizk used in your cycles at University of South Alabama (closed) and their degree of success.
I need started a cycle with Dr. Rizk. When I lived in another city before moving here trying to find a fertility specialist, my OBGYN started me on a clomid cycle times two. Dr. Rizk viewed my previous file and felt like IVF would be best for me. He did an outpatient procedure, I think a D&C because she wanted to make sure it wasn't anything left in my lining. He also ordered labs and ultrasounds. The ultrasounds were to just verify my diagnosis of PCOS. I had several vaginal ultrasounds but I can't remember what each of them were for. He was really trying to get me ready to started the IVF process but finances stopped us from moving forward.

Very nice clinic. It is a little busy and you will spend most of your day there. I didn't realize how many people are actually affected by fertility issues. The staff is very professional and try to get you in and out but they do have a lot of patients that they work with. My overall experience was a good one.

He [Dr. Rizk] struggles with being on time but he is worth the wait. I never felt rushed by him or made to feel like I was incompetent. He always explained everything and made sure that i was on the same page. I would and do recommend him to everyone in the area....I always felt like he individually knew me, my husband and our embabies and cared about our individual outcome....Having irregular periods he wanted to suppress it completely to have the best outcome. He monitored me every 2-3 days while on menopur.
The clinic [University of S Alabama] is trash. He works in the back with his own staff....Ruth and Paula went above and beyond. Always knew who I was by face. Very responsive to phone calls and texts....You had to go during monitoring hours which were early in the morning. But 9 out of 10 times you had a time slot in those monitoring hours. If the ultrasound techs were backed up or someone had to be seen more urgently it delayed everyone.

We did birth control, lupron, menopur followed by egg retrieval, heparin, transfer and progesterone in oil. Having irregular periods he wanted to suppress it completely to have the best outcome. He monitored me every 2-3 days while on menopur.

The clinic is trash. He works in the back with his own staff. Unfortunately you have to go through the main front desk and they are the rudest, laziest people in Alabama. Once past them everything is better.

He did a flat rate that covered everything from initial visit to transfer and monitoring. Storage is extremely affordable. He also gave us a military discount
