Attention to Detail

Attention to detail is on a 1 - 10 scale, and is scored based on the rate, and severity, of errors committed by the clinic according to the patients.

For example, a severe error might be failing to inform a patient of critical information, while a small error might be failing to call a patient with results.

CDC Success Rates

This is the most recent data from the CDC. The CDC cautions that it should not be used to compare doctors and clinics. This data represents the outcomes of IVF cycles when using a person's own eggs.

For more information please see our FAQs.

Where you see a “?” on the chart, a clinic has done fewer than 20 cycles in this category and age range, so the CDC says showing percentages from this small data set would be misleading and unreliable.

Dr. Ibrahim is exceptional in every way. She is extremely smart, professional, kind, thorough, honest, and caring. She truly goes above and beyond as an IVF doctor and ensures I have the best care. How was your experience with Yetunde Ibrahim at UT Medicine Fertility Center?
The fact that I drive from Fort Worth to San Antonio to have Dr. Ibrahim as my IVF doctor speaks volumes. Dr. Ibrahim is exceptional in every way. She is extremely smart, professional, kind, thorough, honest, and caring. She truly goes above and beyond as an IVF doctor and ensures I have the best care. She explains everything carefully and is extremely thorough in all her visits and calls. She has discovered issues such as an auto immune disorder that other doctors did not see, she found uterus scar tissue that no other doctor checked for. She is ahead of her time in every way. She is undoubtedly one of the best in her field.
What's one piece of advice would you give a prospective patient of Yetunde Ibrahim at UT Medicine Fertility Center?
You hit the jackpot of IVF doctors.
During treatment, were you treated like a number or a human with Yetunde Ibrahim at UT Medicine Fertility Center?
Dr. Ibrahim was kind, helpful and positive from day one. She was, and is, very thorough with all her testing, diagnosis and care. My medical knowledge is not the best and she takes the time to explain everything carefully and in terms I understand. She is determined to help and get the best results - ALWAYS. She has truly gone above and beyond to help us have a successful pregnancy, and even diagnosed some auto immune issues I have that have never been addressed by other doctors.
Describe the protocols Yetunde Ibrahim used in your cycles at UT Medicine Fertility Center and their degree of success.
My husband and I needed to do IVF due to a male infertility factor. Dr. Ibrahim kindly supplied notes about testing onto my husband’s urologist which allowed us to improve his sperm, count and motility. Thankfully, I have a good amount of follicles so Dr. Ibrahim’s plan for egg retrievals were specific to me so my cycles were slightly shorter. She gave us all the information we needed about genetic testing, which we decided to go ahead with. This was so helpful for us as the sperm quality was not the best and with her treatment plans we were able to end up with six genetically, tested, healthy embryos. After my first miscarriage, Dr. Ibrahim ensured all testing was done to find the root of the problem, she also found my thyroid levels had changed since the miscarriage, and was able to do further testing and discovered an autoimmune issue. She also did a hysteroscopy which found scar tissue. I unfortunately suffered a second miscarriage but again, Dr. Ibrahim has been doing everything she can to find the issue and tackle the problem so we can have a successful pregnancy.
Describe your experience with your nurse at UT Medicine Fertility Center. (Assigned nurse: Yalanda and Tanie )
The staff at UT are simply wonderful. I mainly spoke to Tanie and Yalanda and both were so helpful, quick to reply, kind and thorough. Esme and Raquel were two other nurses I dealt with who were also absolutely wonderful. It takes a lot to deal with infertile, emotional women every day but the nurses are always kind and compassionate. I’m particularly grateful to them for all the times I travelled to San Antonio from Fort Worth alone and had to have procedures - they always ensured I was cared for and would keep me smiling in those tough moments.
Describe your experience with UT Medicine Fertility Center.
Strengths: the doctors, the nurses, the cost, the care, the communication. Short wait times. Weaknesses: my only criticism was the hysteroscopy I had at the clinic. While I did take medication to help with the pain and discomfort before the procedure, it’s so incredibly painful I would suggest being put under for it in the future.

Dr. Ibrahim was very kind and attentive, she answered all our questions thoughtfully and with respect. I never felt rushed out of the room or inferior in her care...She was very clear on the clinic policy, although I would have initially wanted to try for multiple embryo transfer. However, going through the process and knowing the risks I am glad we did a single embryo transfer
This clinic [UT Medicine Fertility Center] is a learning clinic, so there are a lot of times residents are included in the procedures and processes, however Dr. Ibrahim was usually always present for questions and major procedures. I felt the clinic did a good job at responding in a timely manner and were upfront on addressing risks/expectations. Particularly on policies of single transfers and risks of implanting multiples. They were respectful of my husbands needs as well and we both felt supported during the process

Describe the protocols Yetunde Ibrahim used in your cycles at UT Medicine Fertility Center and their degree of success.
Due to our circumstances and outcomes of testing, she anticipated that I would respond well to the medications. However with Letrozole, despite 4 rounds of timed intercourse and 2 rounds of IUI, I was unable to conceive. Then with discussion and request, we pursued IVF with egg retrieval and ICSI. PGT testing was completed and we transferred one embryo that was rated good and normal with testing. I additionally opted for the use of “uterine glue” during transfer to increase the chance of success, which ended in a successful pregnancy and birth.
Describe your experience with the nursing staff at UT Medicine Fertility Center.
All the nursing staff was welcoming and respectful, I always felt safe and welcomed. They were compassionate when I was emotional and always timely in getting back to me when I had questions.
Describe your experience with UT Medicine Fertility Center.
This clinic is very Knowledgeable, attentive, cost-effective. At times the process can take a while, so have patience and don’t be afraid to ask questions or be upfront about expectations.if you have concerns about cost, they have a discounted IVF program
Describe the costs associated with your care under Yetunde Ibrahim at UT Medicine Fertility Center.
IVF was discounted, which was helpful. Medications for IVF were bought in the US and costly. All, natural conception was covered by my insurance, though IUI was about $500 per round. And IVF total costs with genetic testing, ICSI and medications was ~$18,000 I believe… not exactly sure the total of all our care

Nothing extreme, but I was not sent the results of the PGT testing when they came in and had to call a couple times to get the information clarified.

IVF Stimulation- July 2022 9 day stim Med plan: FSH 150 Menopur 150, Antagonist, HCG trigger. No ICSI, PGT-A. SD5 E2 1232 - decrease to FSH/Menopur 112.5 SD7 E2 3013 - Continue GF 112.6, decrease MP to 75, start antagonist SD8 E2 3671, P4 0.9 - FSH 75, Menopur 75 SD9 - Triggered with 2000 IU HCG and 4mg Lupron. This was changed from the initial plan of HCG trigger due to risk of ovarian hyper-stimulation. Result 29 oocytes > 14 blasts frozen. I elected not to do genetic testing on embryos. I have a normal ovarian reserve, so I hyperstimulated, which I knew was a risk. It was a mild case and I tolerated it well and had minimal symptoms. Dr. Ibrahim recommended against doing a fresh transfer due to risk of exacerbating OHS. I had a HRT- FET frozen transfer 8/2022 with regimen estrace 3mg BID and PIO IM that was unsuccessful. I was then diagnosed with chronic endometritis and completed a course of doxy/flagyl. I had a second HRT- FET with regimen estrace 3mg BID and PIO IM on 10/22 that was successful! I Continued estradiol 3 mg bid and Progesterone 50 mg IM until 10 week GA. IMP: - Viable singleton intrauterine pregnancy with size consistent with dates. I had a new OB appointment at 10 weeks GA I am now 22 weeks pregnant with a healthy baby girl!

Our plan as discussed with Dr. Ibrahim was for a single healthy pregnancy. We were glad that safety to mother and baby was top priority.

Dr. Ibrahim listened to my story. She was empathetic for my previous loss and was very honest about her plan of care. I never felt rushed and I always felt like she really cared about me...was empathetic and yet direct in her approach to care. She made sure I made an appointment with a high risk BEFORE starting fertility treatment so as to get a good start...This woman knows what she's doing and will give you the stats to understand her protocols.
[UT Medicine Fertility Center] Strengths -awesome staff, everyone is so lovely and great communication! Weaknesses- always running behind! I would always wait so long to be seen, sometimes even an hour! If I was seeing a different doctor, he wouldn't always know how to prioritize...All the nurses and staff were wonderful but Esme went above and beyond. She was with us for our previous cycle that resulted in stillbirth and she was very invested in our journey. She was compassionate and so caring and loving. Walking us through every step, crying with us and grieving with us. I would even see her after my prenatal appointments sometimes and she would always greet me with so much love and showing me with encouraging words. I love Esme and she absolutely made the biggest difference in our second cycle
How was your experience with Yetunde Ibrahim at UT Medicine Fertility Center?
Dr. Ibrahim was exactly what we needed. We had a previous stillbirth due to preeclampsia and our fertility doctor left the clinic so we were especially nervous and emotional. Dr. Ibrahim was empathetic and yet direct in her approach to care. She made sure I made an appointment with a high risk BEFORE starting fertility treatment so as to get a good start prior. Our previous IVF cycle only resulted in 1 embryo so we would have to do a whole new cycle this time. She outlined the risks and benefits of our options and ran tests to make sure my body would best respond to treatments. She was thorough and very well educated. She kept me informed and included in all decisions. I cannot thank her enough for the peace of mind she gave us and the miracle she helped us create together.
What's one piece of advice would you give a prospective patient of Yetunde Ibrahim at UT Medicine Fertility Center?
Trust your doctor. This woman knows what she's doing and will give you the stats to understand her protocols. I fought my previous provider in doing things MY way which in the end, didn't fair very well. There's a difference between educating yourself and being controlling. And in retrospect,I wish my previous doctor had been more aggressive and pushed back when I would insist on methods that were not as effective. Dr. Ibrahim wants to get your pregnant, let her do her job

Describe the protocols Yetunde Ibrahim used in your cycles at UT Medicine Fertility Center and their degree of success.
I had hydrosalpinx and as a result, both my tubes were blocked and one had to be removed (the other clipped to prevent spillage). This was done by my previous provider. Dr. Ibrahim performed a pelvic ultrasound and discovered many cervical polyps so she scheduled a surgery to remove them. Once removed, we began a classic IVF cycle(gonal f and menopur) and planned for a fresh transfer. My husband's sperm was also retested since the last time we needed ICSI but we did not this time. After egg retrieval, we ended up with 10 embryos! We did a fresh 5 day transfer that ended in a live birth of a baby boy:)

If I was seeing a different doctor, he wouldn't always know how to prioritize (I had a full bladder once that needed to be empty so he made me void and then went on to another patient instead of waiting for me so I was forced to wait another 20 minutes to see him even though I'd already waited 45 minutes at that point).

Dr. Ibrahim was incredibly patient and compassionate in answering my questions and walking through this difficult journey with us. She is knowledgeable about the expected outcomes and can convey those difficult statistics while preserving the hope for creating a family...was able to respect our wishes to forego the use of donor eggs and instead try harvesting my own eggs, even though I had diminished ovarian reserve. She took the time to explain the statistical expectations but voiced respect for our treatment preferences...
[at UT Medicine Fertility Center] You will not necessarily see your primary REI doctor for most of your ultrasound checks during IVF, so that process seems very impersonal. But your primary REI will be the one responding to the egg count and sizes in adjusting your protocol, often communicating with you later that day through a call from a nurse. The clinic does perform retrievals and transfers on Saturdays and Sundays depending on your treatment cycle...

What's one piece of advice would you give a prospective patient of Yetunde Ibrahim at UT Medicine Fertility Center?
If you are employed, open up a conversation with your boss and consider requesting FMLA to protect your employment. The series of appointments and treatments you have to go through occur on very short notice, which makes the IVF process challenging for an employer woman trying to become pregnant.

Describe the specific things that went wrong at UT Medicine Fertility Center.
After one of my egg retrievals (on a weekend day), I was left to recover in a room with my husband for an inordinate amount of time. My husband went to investigate and found that none of the nurses were still present in the clinic. The clerk told him all the nurses had left for the day, and I’d never been unhooked from the IV or monitors for discharge. The clerk called one of the nurses back, and she eventually rushed back in about fifteen minutes later with a story apologizing for being in the bathroom. To this day, we believe we were left forgotten post-procedurally.

How was your experience with Yetunde Ibrahim at UT Medicine Fertility Center?
Dr. Ibrahim was wonderful. She made us feel that we had all the information we needed to make the decisions that were right for us every step of our journey. We felt supported and guided by her and trusted that no matter what happened, we were in good hands. Her goal was to get us pregnant but her priority was my health; and at the age of 41, this was very important to us. Her confidence and recommendations made us feel that no matter the outcome, we were going to be okay. We also valued how she treated us with respect and the utmost dignity. This process was hard enough and she helped to make us feel normal and not that something was wrong because we couldn't have a baby on our own. We are forever grateful for Dr. Ibrahim and her expertise.
What's one piece of advice would you give a prospective patient of Yetunde Ibrahim at UT Medicine Fertility Center?
Trust the process, follow instructions as accurately as possible, and most importantly, make the decisions and choices that feel right for you. Dr. Ibrahim is one of the best doctors to support you in this.
During treatment, were you treated like a number or a human with Yetunde Ibrahim at UT Medicine Fertility Center?

Describe the protocols Yetunde Ibrahim used in your cycles at UT Medicine Fertility Center and their degree of success.
We tried IUI first before we did eggs harvesting and then IVF. I have hypothyroidism, PCOS, and fibroids. Dr. Ibrahim ran tests and treatments to assess the impact these would have on my chances of getting pregnant as well as harvesting of eggs prior to the start of each process. It allowed us to understand the risks and chances at every step and it was very helpful for our outcomes.

UT Health is an excellent facility. The latest technology, nice facilities, and very friendly and helpful staff. The strength is that they are a research facility so they practice the latest and best evidence based practices.
Describe the costs associated with your care under Yetunde Ibrahim at UT Medicine Fertility Center.
Dr. Ibrahim was only $6,000, the other $9,000 was in drugs for a total of almost $15,000 for all processes and procedures, to include egg retrieval, transfer, care, etc.
Describe Yetunde Ibrahim's approach to eSET (elective single embryo transfer) vs. multiple embryo transfer at UT Medicine Fertility Center.
I appreciated that she would only do a single embryo and she explained why very thoroughly. I am very glad we did a single transfer because we could have lost both embryos, reducing our chances to try again, or ended up with multiples that we were not mentally or emotionally prepared for.
