This is the most recent data from the CDC. The CDC cautions that it should not be used to compare doctors and clinics. This data represents the outcomes of IVF cycles when using a person's own eggs.
For more information please see our FAQs.
Where you see a “?” on the chart, a clinic has done fewer than 20 cycles in this category and age range, so the CDC says showing percentages from this small data set would be misleading and unreliable.
[Dr. Diran Chamoun] very honest and doesn't tell you just what you want to hear so you know you can trust him...My initial consult with Dr Chamoun lasted almost an hour, he poured through every test result and protocol from my previous clinic...after considering my age, my family planning goals and my response to previous IUI attempts given my PCOS
Strengths [of Viera Fertility Center]...clinic operates well, every member of the team (clinical and admin) works together...staff/team remembers you, welcomes you each visit...Weaknesses...only one doctor...smaller practice. IVF retrieval and embryo transfer cycles are only conducted once a month
How was your experience with Diran Chamoun at Viera Fertility Center (Fertility Specialist Network clinic)?
I trust him, he's very honest and doesn't tell you just what you want to hear so you know you can trust him. I am careful to do my own clinical research and every consult we had during IUI and IVF retrieval, I really felt like he was up to date on current research and prepared to take care of me well. You’re not just a number when you’re in his care.
What's one piece of advice would you give a prospective patient of Diran Chamoun at Viera Fertility Center (Fertility Specialist Network clinic)?
Listen to his guidance and ask questions to be sure you understand and feel comfortable with the treatment course. That’s my advice for all patients with any doctor but Dr Chamoun is setting the bar high for best bedside manner and patient care.
During treatment, were you treated like a number or a human with Diran Chamoun at Viera Fertility Center (Fertility Specialist Network clinic)?
He’s down to earth and trustworthy, I see the doctors at every visit and he’s done every single ultrasound I’ve ever had. He takes the time to talk through treatment, issues, and processes always listens to my questions, and takes them seriously.
Describe the protocols Diran Chamoun used in your cycles at Viera Fertility Center (Fertility Specialist Network clinic) and their degree of success.
My initial consult with Dr Chamoun lasted almost an hour, he poured through every test result and protocol from my previous clinic. Then we discussed my family planning goals and the various protocols/treatments to get us there. We agreed we’d attempt 3 rounds of IUI before discussing more intense treatment (IVF) after considering my age, my family planning goals and my response to previous IUI attempts given my PCOS.
After those 3 IUI attempts didn’t work, we had a difficult and straightforward discussion about IVF. My husband and I were ready to move on to IVF after a year of trying unsuccessfully. Dr Chamoun drew up my protocol, given my PCOS my risk for OHSS was very high during stimulation. He made me very aware of these risks and was stern that he’d be conservative but cancel my cycle if the risks got too great for my health. Ultimately protocol was based on the best clinical science for PCOS patients, including my dosage (low) and my trigger shot (Lupron versus HSG), in addition to a few oral meds proven to reduce OHSS risk.
He monitored me closely and made sure I had the knowledge, meds, and recovery instructions for my specific needs. He and the nurses were also readily available post-retrieval for me to communicate about my symptoms and seek guidance on recovery.
Describe your experience with the nursing staff at Viera Fertility Center (Fertility Specialist Network clinic).
Shelley, my IVF nurse is excellent. She's fun, approachable, and empathetic. Every interaction with her (injection training, post-IVF retrieval care, etc.) I felt so cared for, calm, and understood. She’s got a way of de-escalating scary/nervous/tense moments without even trying.
All the nurses are kind, empathetic, and communicative. The whole practice operates in a way that makes sure care never gets compromised and you leave each visit knowing exactly what you need to do with your questions answered.
Describe your experience with Viera Fertility Center (Fertility Specialist Network clinic).
Strengths: The clinic operates well, every member of the team (clinical and admin) works together and is aware of how to holistically care for patients. Every member of the staff/team remembers you, welcomes you each visit, and makes sure the process is as smooth as can be.
Weaknesses: I think it can be tricky that there’s only one doctor and it’s a smaller practice. IVF retrieval and embryo transfer cycles are only conducted once a month and the clinic doesn’t do them in alignment with the patient’s body readiness. Although my care and retrieval timing was catered to what my body was doing/needed, when it came to my embryo transfer I had to wait weeks to get on the calendar versus being able to start my transfer cycle when my body was ready because I “missed” the embryo transfer cycle for that month. At bigger clinics with bigger labs and more doctors, retrievals and transfers happen more frequently, so at the patient's pace versus the clinics/doctors. It’s frustrating to be physically ready to go for a transfer but have to wait weeks/months to sync with the clinic's embryo transfer schedule.
Describe the costs associated with your care under Diran Chamoun at Viera Fertility Center (Fertility Specialist Network clinic).
IUI: $1,500 per cycle plus medication (oral pills in my case)
IVF: $16,500 for stimulation, monitoring, and egg retrieval (not including roughly $3,000 in medicine)
About $5K more if we would have done embryo PGT testing, we opted not to.
Frozen embryo transfer: about $5,500 per attempt (plus medication)
Dr Lindheim does a great job explaining step by step what is going to happen and goes into the science behind everything. He answers emails promptly and checks in on me emotionally...He can be a little quirky in his jokes but I always feel comfortable and in good care when I see him...always ready to talk through any and all questions in person, on the phone, or via email
Able to do most paperwork online. Great responsiveness via phone and email. [Viera Fertility Center] Office is run very efficiently- never have a long waiting time. Usually seeing doctor within 15 minutes of appointment time...[nurse] Always returned calls/emails promptly. When In the office she was cheerful and optimistic of good outcomes. A reassuring presence.
How was your experience with Steven Lindheim at Viera Fertility Center (Fertility Specialist Network clinic)?
Dr Lindheim is great. He is always ready to talk through any and all questions in person, on the phone, or via email. When I was pregnant last year and moved to my ob office, he still emailed to check in and see how things were going. He can be a little quirky in his jokes but I always feel comfortable and in good care when I see him.
What's one piece of advice would you give a prospective patient of Steven Lindheim at Viera Fertility Center (Fertility Specialist Network clinic)?
Don’t be afraid to ask questions. Dr Lindheim will explain everything thoroughly and if you still don’t understand he will explain in a different way.
During treatment, were you treated like a number or a human with Steven Lindheim at Viera Fertility Center (Fertility Specialist Network clinic)?
Dr Lindheim does a great job explaining step by step what is going to happen and goes into the science behind everything. He answers emails promptly and checks in on me emotionally (especially after my son passed away in the NICU).
Describe the protocols Steven Lindheim used in your cycles at Viera Fertility Center (Fertility Specialist Network clinic) and their degree of success.
For my first iui cycle in 2021 we used letrozole. I became pregnant on the first try. After my son passed away in the NICU (born prematurely)- Dr Lindheim recommended an HSG to check on my uterine cavity and tubes since I had a c-section. After seeing a small abnormality on HSG, he recommended a hysteroscopy to remove a polyp in my uterus. He said a polyp(s) could increase the risk of miscarriage so I was very happy we did the HSG and following hysteroscopy to remove polyps. Now moving forward with iui.

Dr. Chamoun listened to my concerns, candidly expressed his assumptions based on evidence from testing, and would always ask me what I wanted to do based on the information given...first provider to look into my entire hormonal history and provide a diagnosis that has severely impacted my ability to get pregnant...never pressured me or my husband into a treatment...the only RE in our area, he is very good at what he does.
The nursing staff [at Viera Fertility Center] is very attentive and provide a much needed level of compassion to offset [Doctor's] direct approach...downside is that you rarely get to speak to one of them on the phone when you call, you almost always leave a message. However, they are wonderful at returning the call same day or letting you know when they can call you back if they need additional information.
How was your experience with Diran Chamoun at Viera Fertility Center (Fertility Specialist Network clinic)?
Dr. Chamoun is highly intelligent, and his experience in this field is vast and extends over a long period of time. He can be direct in sharing information, but I personally appreciated that. It was very important to me to understand all of the pieces, and having several setbacks throughout the process only intensified that need for me.
Because of his candor, I always trusted his judgement. He was the first provider to look into my entire hormonal history and provide a diagnosis that has severely impacted my ability to get pregnant.
He has never pressured me or my husband into a treatment that did not work for us. We have had full autonomy in choosing the path to fertility treatments.
While Dr. Chamoun is the only RE in our area, he is very good at what he does. In the cycles that we have completed with him, he got my body to exactly where it needed to be to be on a level playing field with the fertile community.
What's one piece of advice would you give a prospective patient of Diran Chamoun at Viera Fertility Center (Fertility Specialist Network clinic)?
Understand that he is direct and can be abrupt. But his words are truthful and he will work with you to find the best treatment that will work for you and your conditions.

Describe the protocols Diran Chamoun used in your cycles at Viera Fertility Center (Fertility Specialist Network clinic) and their degree of success.
A full hormone panel was taken as a baseline. I had a high level of prolactin, leading to an MRI to diagnose a prolactinoma. I was placed on cabergoline to lower my levels. My levels have been steadily going down as appropriate.
In our timed inter course cycle, I was prescribed 2.5mg of Letrozole (he recommended this over Clomid because I have PCOS), on days CD 3-8. I had to go in for ultrasounds on CD 2, 9, and 12. I gave myself an Hcg trigger shot on CD 12, with TI on CD 14. A blood test on CD 19 to test progesterone to confirm ovulation, and CD 26 to test for pregnancy. This regimen did work, my body responded as appropriate, unfortunately it ended in a chemical pregnancy, which was confirmed with another blood test on CD 1 of my next cycle.
Describe your experience with the nursing staff at Viera Fertility Center (Fertility Specialist Network clinic).
The nursing staff is very attentive and provide a much needed level of compassion to offset the Dr. Chamoun’s direct approach. The nurses provide a great bedside manner and any educational needs you may have. The downside is that you rarely get to speak to one of them on the phone when you call, you almost always leave a message. However, they are wonderful at returning the call same day or letting you know when they can call you back if they need additional information.

Treatments can get expensive, which you will find anywhere you go. I would advise those with insurance to see if your policy covers treatments. But the front staff is very kind and able to work with you through this delicate process.
Describe the costs associated with your care under Diran Chamoun at Viera Fertility Center (Fertility Specialist Network clinic).
Our initial consultation was $325. This covered an initial conversation, plans for testing, and a transvaginal ultrasound. My payment to him for an HSG procedure was around $400, in addition to the outpatient hospital fees. Every office visit was around $300 that was outside of a treatment package.
Our times intercourse package was around $800. This included 3 transvaginal ultrasounds and the initial appointment, it did not include any of the medication.
Dr.Chamoun suggested IUI for my husband and me. We decided to do the IUI with Femara. When the first round of Femara was not a high enough dose he stoped the cycle and immediately started again with a higher dose to increase egg maturity and also to save us money by not scrapping the cycle completely... The first time we met with Dr.Chamoun I felt that he was a little abrasive. My husband and I came out of the meeting wondering why he was a little cold. The next time I saw him I was having an HSG. If you know of this test you know it can be very painful. This time he was extremely nice, and made sure to make me feel as comfortable as I could be
The nursing staff [at Viera Fertility Center- Melbourne] is great! They are compassionate and treat you as though you are a friend who is telling them your struggles. The only thing I wish was different about this office was maybe having assigned nurses for each couple.... We used the IuI package that Dr.Chamouns office has set up for people without insurance. This package is $1000 and included everything but medication

If you know of this test you know it can be very painful. This time he was extremely nice, and made sure to make me feel as comfortable as I could be. He would ask me during the procedure if I was doing okay and insured me that it would be only a few more minutes. He also told me everything he was doing. From inserting the catheter to injecting the dye. From then on I had a great relationship with Dr.Chamoun. His goal is to make families.

This clinics strengths are compassion, understanding of not only emotions but also financial struggles, and skill. If you hear Dr.Chamouns name, the next thing that follows is usually “he is very good at what he does, one of the best.”
The only weakness of this clinic is that they have had so many different nurses, as soon as I feel I am the most comfortable with one nurse I see a new one and start my relationship over.

We used clomid due to a likely ovulation dysfunction. We started low at 50mg I believe. We were trying to get 2-3 follicles since we were doing IUI for male factor. He increased the dose each month until we found that 150mg day 2-7 would give me about 4 follicles. We triggered each cycle at day 12 and did the IUI on day 13 or 14.

I trusted him that he knew which days to do each part of the procedure.
He [Dr. Chamoun] met me and let me know he was knowledgeable through conversations about a variety of issues and never once made me feel uncomfortable. As a man with fertility issues, it can be very challenging to talk to other men about these issues without feeling fear or shame.
