Alfred Rodriguez (OB/GYN)

Dr. Rodriguez was nice to talk to as a person. However, I can never see Dr. Rodriguez during my appointments or ask any questions over the phone or via email unless I make special appointments to meet with him. The treatment plans and methods are not up-to-date unfortunately and caused a lot of suffering and pain. I have been asked to take the same torturing tests again and again because I had a surgery and came back after 6 months, or because the doctor went on vacation, and they want to give me something to do during the time. When I have requests or questions, I feel they don't consider my input at all, but when I go to a different doctor, I find my inputs valuable to consider. The Obgyn doctor Dr. Rodriguez referred to didn't give me a good impression, a very rude doctor I want to say, which is very different from what Dr. Rodriguez described. Looks like Dr. Rodriguez recommend him because of his good personal relationship with him, not because he's truly a good doctor.

I wouldn't recommend Dr. Rodriguez to anyone. Please take a look at some other doctors and clinics in the DFW area and you'll see the difference by yourself.

2 times ERA, 3 times hysteroscopy, egg retrieval, embryo transfer, prescribed lots of unnecessary medication that caused my stomach ulcer, dyziness and other symptoms.

I was lucky to have found Dr. Rodriguez, as my RE. Each treatment we spoke in details and he was open to adjusting medications and incorporating new treatments to the plan. Dr. Rodriguez listened and answered all my questions. Unfortunately, we had no insurance coverage and what I loved most is that Dr. Rodriguez always suggested ways to help us save money. For example anything my OB could do, he would send me to him. Which helped us save a ton of money. I am forever grateful. During treatments I never felt uncomfortable with him. he always talked through each step, which for me was extremely helpful. He has a calming nature to him. I am beyond sad I won't be continuing treatments with him, due to relocating to Michigan because I do believe that even though both transfer failed, our next round we would have a baby. Thank you so much Dr. Rodriguez for all you have done for me over the past 4 years.

Be your own advocate and don't be afraid to ask questions. Dr. Rodriguez is very knowledgeable and open to trying new methods. I loved that about him.

Monitoring appointments were efficient, I always got to the office a few minutes prior to them opening. If I did arrive later than 8:30am, I would have a small wait but nothing bad at all.

IUI - $3,000 IVF without ICIS or testing embryos - $20,000

Dr. Rodriguez is knowledgeable and experienced. He has a great bedside manner and gets straight to the point. Because of his background and demeanor, he is trustworthy. The one thing that makes me uncomfortable is his tendency to push PGS testing. Because of this, he is not very open to adjusting treatment for women who may do better with 3 day embryos.

I would advise prospective patients to research and advocate for themselves. To understand that fertility treatments often have a "trial and error" approach. Also, that once your doctor has prescribed a protocol, follow the protocol.

First retrieval, Dr. Rodriguez put me on birth control pills for one month prior and directed me to take Vitamin D3, Acai Berry, and Ubiquinol supplements. For stimulation, he prescribed to me Gonal F 300 IU and Menopur 150 IU injections daily, Ganireliz 250 mg when directed, and triggered with Lupron 40 IU and Novalrel 5000 IU then Lupron 40 IU 12 hours later. Second retrieval, Dr. Rodriguez had me "prime" with estrogen and testosterone orally, Dexamethasone orally. Omnitrope injections daily, same strengths of Gonal F and Menopur from first retrieval, but added Clomid during "stimulation". The trigger meds and doseage were same as first round.

Dr. Rodriguez uses reset approach. My thoughts on this approach are: understanding the risks of twin pregnancies, I still believe that multiple embryo transfers are often the best approach for certain patients. For me, I would appreciate the option of multiple embryo transfer.

I could go on an on about how amazing I think Dr. Rodriguez is. The most caring and compassionate doctor I have ever met. He takes the time to get to know all of his patients. He is the sweetest and nicest and always took the best care of myself and my husband!

He will do everything in his power to help you conceive and have compassion and understanding while doing it.

I have an extremely complex case. We did test after test to make sure my body was completely ready to have a transfer. I wound up having two surgeries by Dr. Rodriguez to remove uterine fibroids and he got them all out. We always did a frozen transfer because we did PGD/PGS testing on our embryos because I have a chromosome disorder. We did injectables, the estrogen patches and progesterone shots. I don’t remember how long or how much. We also did a special biopsy that tells you exactly when the transfer needs to occur. After all of that we were ready to transfer.

I loved having Linda do my monitoring appointments. She learned certain things about me so she knew exactly what to look for and how to navigate around obstacles. Also Dr. Rodriguez was also at all my monitoring appointments to check in which was great. Always greeted with a smile and asking us how things were going

With everything including all special testing, PGD/PGS, uterine biopsy for transfer, retrieval, transfer, medication and all visits and monitoring it costs close to $30,000

Dr. Rodriguez always said they are our embryos and would never tell us what we were to do with them or how many (unless and excessive amount). He always told me what he suggested for my personal case which was to transfer one. He told me the risks of transferring multiple embryos and the risk of carrying multiples. He let me make an informed decision after giving me every detail of all scenarios. I listened to his advice and only transferred one at a time.

Dr. Rodriguez was very friendly and sensitive to the fact that we hadn’t been able to get pregnant. He was clear and concise about the procedures I would undergo, and never rushed anything, even though I was anxious to get started. He recommended I have an ultrasound of my uterus done before IUI to rule out any other problems, and it was there that I found out that I had uterine polyps. He never rushed me during appointments or made me feel like a number. He even answered the millions of questions my mom had for him as well! :)

Go in there with an open mind. Although the doctor and nurses may be hopeful, always keep a level headed mindset that sometimes things don’t always work the way you want them to.

I was to take a medication that would promote follicle growth. I had to go in for sonograms to see if the follicles had begun growing. 24 hours before the planned IUI time, I was instructed to give myself the injection into my belly. After the IUI procedure, we did blood work about a week after to test progesterone levels, and then another blood test a week after that for the actual pregnancy test. Both IUI procedures failed.

The total cost for each IUI procedure was $900. This included all appointments with Dr. Rodriguez, blood work, and the actual IUI procedure. This price did not include the medication which I had to purchase from a pharmacy, totaling about $200.

He is the best doctor I have ever come across. I have never met such a understanding and compassionate doctor. I feel like I am his only patient when he is with me and he reassures me all the time. I have been through a lot with him in the last year and he took his time to make sure everything goes right with my upcoming transfer!

His practice does not act like a factory, they take their time to diagnosis and treat you. Don't bother looking for another doctor just go to him right away. He was reffered to us by a good friend who had twins through him and I am so grateful he did.

His protocol was different than my previous fertility doctor, he made sure he looked at everything very carefully. I required two surgeries after my retrieval to remove fibroids and he made sure it was done meticulously. We are currently in the process of doing a frozen transfer next month.

Again, cannot express how wonderful of a doctor he was. We experienced a full term loss before needing his services, so he was extremely sensitive and compassionate to that situation. He took so much time to explain processes to me and my husband.

My treatment first started with a hysteroscopy to eliminate fibroids and endometrial tissue. Following that surgery, I began prep for my egg retrieval using several injectables (I don't remember all the names). A few months after my retrieval, we proceeded with the transfer of one embryo.

Dr. Rodriguez is very clinical, which can be somewhat off-putting when you are in the middle of all of the hormones and emotions, but he makes it very clear that he's on your team and will do what is best to help you achieve your goal of pregnancy.

Don't be put off by his clinical nature - he has a phenomenal team of caring nurses/technicians that fill in that gap! He's a really smart guy and cares a LOT about helping his patients.

We starting with stimulation of egg development (sorry, I forget the drugs - all injectables), followed by a trigger shot and IUI. I was developing too many eggs and we had to abandon a cycle, so Dr. R. recommended we move to IVF. We started with Lupron, then the injectables to develop the follicles, followed by the trigger shot and retrieval. Started IM progesteron in oil following the retrieval to keep my lining intact. We transferred on day 3.

Cash costs for IUI were around $6000, IVF around $14,000.

Dr.Rodriguez is very intelligent and well educated in infertility. He was very informative while being kind and understanding. He thouroughly read my patient history and helped gather a game plan on our first visit.

Take notes! Dr.Rodriguez is very informative and I wish I would have written everything down to tell my husband.

We are just beginning my first cycle with Dr.Rodriguez. We have only done diagnostic testing, I have started birth control, and we will proceed with IVF in the following months.

Dr. Rodriguez was up front but understanding about the situation. I appreciated his honesty and being able to quickly give me his best advice. He is incredibly knowledgeable and easy to talk to. I fully trust him with my care.

My insurance only covered diagnostic testing. It will be close to 20k gove or take with meds and genetic testing of embryos

He is the kind of doctor that provides Cadillac, first class service. He sees people from all financial backgrounds, but those that have the most means....undoubtedly go to Dr. Alfred Rodriguez. It is a pleasure to work with him because you know that you're getting top quality service and treatment.

It is okay to not know what exactly you want to do. So much has to do with your body and where it's at, then you can always research how to better your situation, but Dr. Rodriguez will give you all of the options available to you.

His staff simply recommended the CoQ10, Acai, he did not recommend DHEA, which I found interesting, because another clinic I was working with, CNY Albany definitely wanted me to use DHEA because of the clinical experiments and success they had using it for women with DOR.

There were several financing options presented through private lenders. I had sub prime credit, so I did not quality, though I inquired with all of them.

Dr. Rodriguez has a beautiful bed side manner. It was impossible to feel scared or confused with Dr. Rodriguez because he always had me laughing which helps with my anxiety. I have decided Dr. Rodriguez is the only fertility specialist I will see.. Unless he refers me to someone else. But I would only follow his instructions.

Get ready to laugh & feel like your at home. Be open & honest about anything he asks you.

Dr. Rodriguez performed surgery to get rid of my polyps. We called it "womb renovation". He said we have to get the "baby's room" ready. He also prescribed birth control pills, estrogen, & testosterone to regulate my hormones. Even though I didn't have the money to move forward with the actual IVF, Dr. Rodriguez still made sure my body was ready when that day comes.

I am a self pay patient. My insurance will not cover anything. Dr. Rodriguez billing department set me up on a payment arrangement. I am able to keep my appointments and make monthly pays

He was kind and shared in our hopes & dreams. He had the bedside manner of a friend rather than a doctor. Not intimidating and easy to ask questions. That’s was his biggest strength but his biggest weakness as well.

He’s great. Be honest with him and he will be a great guide on your journey through infertility

He would only transfer one at a time. He felt the results were best that way.
