2019, Unsuccessful
Dr Paupoo was very a very knowledgeable and experienced Reproductive endocrinologist. He was not afraid to challenge my diagnosis of unexplained infertility and dug deeper to unearth other contributing factors to my infertility that may have been overlooked by previous physicians.... He explained everything in detail regarding physical assessment and ultrasound findings and answered any questions I had. He advised me on recommended treatments and advised against pricey fertility treatments that were unnecessary.
Strengths [of Omaha Fertility & Gynecology]: The MD related to his knowledge and experience in infertility diagnosis and treatment. Weaknesses: Location was small; unable to draw labs requiring all blood-work to be completed at an offsite location; unwillingness to see patient and then submit to insurance requiring the patient to pay large amounts of cash for service upfront; unwillingness to communicate with insurance company to confirm prior authorization
How was your experience with Arasen Paupoo at Omaha Fertility & Gynecology?
Dr. Paupoo is a talented and experienced RE with excellent communication skills that enabled me to gain a better understanding of my infertility and all of the potential options for treatment. He was very educated on the subject of infertility and was willing to dig deeper into the underlying cause before offering the most obvious and expensive options for treatment such as IUI or IVF. He provided a very thorough Review of Systems and physical assessment, ordered a plethora of pre-conception labs and performed a diagnostic ultrasound describing in detail the results of his findings and explaining their meaning and indications for potential/recommended treatment.
What's one piece of advice would you give a prospective patient of Arasen Paupoo at Omaha Fertility & Gynecology?
Go in with an open mind and provide a detailed history that enables him to derive a thorough list of differential diagnosis. Be prepared for him to tell you something you may not want to hear and take his advice instead of being set on one specific treatment. Ensure you have prior authorization from your insurance and be educated on your insurance policy and what it covers. Bring a physical copy of your insurance policy for him as he will make you pay cash up front for appointments unless he is sure your insurance will cover treatment.

He was not afraid to challenge my diagnosis of unexplained infertility and dug deeper to unearth other contributing factors to my infertility that may have been overlooked by previous physicians. He devoted a significant amount of time to me during my initial consultation and was very thorough in gaining a background of my previous medical history and performing a thorough physical examination to determine a cause for my infertility and create a treatment plan to correct barriers to successfully conceiving. He advised me on recommended treatments and advised against pricey fertility treatments that were unnecessary. Describe your experience with your nurse at Omaha Fertility & Gynecology.
I did not have much interaction with the nurse as she was primarily and assistant and scribe for the doctor. I requested she contact my insurance company as infertility diagnosis and specific treatments were covered and she was unsuccessful in gaining an answer which ultimately caused me to seek treatment with a different provider at a different clinic as I was uncomfortable with paying cash up front and being reimbursed.
