Success w/ Doc Too early to know
I had to get a blood draw, and Dr. Clark went into the lab room with us...He gave me his personal cell number to text during our first IUI cycle and never made me feel like I was overstepping...[protocol] Clomid: 50mg, I didn't respond > 100mg, I didn't respond >150mg, I didnt respond...had me take another 5 days of 10mg starting cd12, one follicle, hcg trigger shot, IUI, not pregnant...we are under quarantine and not actively taking meds for ovulation induction due to covid 19...but the next step is IVF.
[nurse of New England Reproductive Medicine] They are compassionate and friendly...[staff] When I actually reacted to meds and grew follicles, everyone there was excited for me...[errors] After our consultation, a prescription of provera was supposed to be called into the pharmacy, but wasn't...After my second IUI, my doctor didnt order lab work for my 14dpIUI beta test. I called and they submitted it right away...
How was your experience with Brian Clark at New England Reproductive Medicine & Surgery?
Dr Clark came off kind of disconnected at the beginning of our first consult, but by the end of the appointment, both my husband and I knew we were going to feel good with him as our physician. I had to get a blood draw, and Dr. Clark went into the lab room with us...most other doctors that I've ever experienced wod have parted ways as soon as our consultation was over. He also personally walked us out of the suite. He is very knowledgeable and professional, but really opened up on a more personal level once he got to know our personalities and humor. He acknowledged my hard work when I would lose a pound here and there because he understands that with pcos, it has been really easy to gain and horribly tough to lose. He gave me his personal cell number to text during our first IUI cycle and never made me feel like I was overstepping when I would text him. We havent gotten pregnant yet, but he has worked through so so many different plans of attack which unfortunately havent been "it" for us. Next will be IVF!
What's one piece of advice would you give a prospective patient of Brian Clark at New England Reproductive Medicine & Surgery?
If you dont understand something he tells you, definitely ask...dont yes him to death or nod as if you get what he is saying. He will explain more clearly or differently if need be.
During treatment, were you treated like a number or a human with Brian Clark at New England Reproductive Medicine & Surgery?
It is a small practice, pretty personal. I really got to know not only Dr Clark, but the other staff in the office, from front desk to nurses and US tech. When I actually reacted to meds and grew follicles, everyone there was excited for me.
Describe the protocols Brian Clark used in your cycles at New England Reproductive Medicine & Surgery and their degree of success.
Clomid: 50mg, I didn't respond > 100mg, I didn't respond >150mg, I didnt respond. (Taken days 5 to 9 with Internal ultrasound day 12 or 13 to check for follicle growth) Tamoxifen: I forget the dosages, but I did not respond to the first dosage > dosage increased- I think that I did get one follicle, but didn't ovulate until cd35 and did not fall pregnant. Ovulation caught with opks and confirmed with bloodwork. Tried another round, same dose but didn't ovulate. (Taken cd5 to 9, ultrasound day 12 to check for follicle growth). Provera to induce period. Letrozole with metformin 1500mg: 7.5mg , no response > 10mg, one follicle grew > ovulation occurred around cd20, intercourse, not pregnant. Another 10mg round, no follicle growth, had me take another 5 days of 10mg starting cd12, one follicle, hcg trigger shot, IUI, not pregnant. >repeat, IUI not pregnant. Now we are under quarantine and not actively taking meds for ovulation induction due to covid 19...but the next step is IVF.
Describe your experience with the nursing staff at New England Reproductive Medicine & Surgery.
The nursing staff is good. They all know me by now, so I feel very comfortable. They are compassionate and friendly.
Describe your experience with New England Reproductive Medicine & Surgery.
It's a cool atmosphere- lofty mill building. It's easy to get to. Very quiet in there. Vitals are taken in a partitioned area. Not in a private room which is ok and still pretty private. It's very clean. Bathrooms inside the suite. I wish that in the ultrasound room, that you could see the screen, but that's not a huge deal.

Describe the specific things that went wrong at New England Reproductive Medicine & Surgery.
After our consultation, a prescription of provera was supposed to be called into the pharmacy, but wasn't. I had to call to ask them as a reminder, which I feel I shouldn't have had to. After my second IUI, my doctor didnt order lab work for my 14dpIUI beta test. I called and they submitted it right away.

He [Brian Clark] is a great doctor who is easy to talk to and takes plenty of time to explain everything well. He worked with me leading up to my egg retrieval and transfer and did all my follow up...I first met Dr. Clark as a surgeon for a ovarian cyst and was thrilled when he opened up his own fertility center. His staff is very supportive and helpful throughout the process....They did everything except the final procedures-that was done in Lexington MA at the large IVF center there.
His [Brian Clark] staff [at NE RMS] is very supportive and helpful throughout the process. It was great to have most of my visits with them for they were closer to home and their office is in a beautiful refinished warehouse space and is less clinical and more peaceful. They did everything except the final procedures-that was done in Lexington MA at the large IVF center there. My only complaint is that at times the communication between the two centers could have been better regarding appointment times.

I also have his [Dr. Clark] personal cell phone and during my miscarriages he was available to talk through out it all. ... He is very knowledgeable about infertility and seems to know what’s right for me. He definitely is old school though and doesn’t really seem to care about new findings. Ie: supplements for egg quality. ... Have a list of questions ready and clear your schedule early for appointments.
They [New England Reproductive Medicine & Surgery] treated me like a human with having my own individual plan/protocol. ... The ultrasound technician sandy is also very nice and knowledgeable. Their weaknesses is everyone else that works there. They are horrible at getting messages to people. Emails are never responded too. ... The nurse was originally there was amazing . ... Hey hired a medical assistant named Jessica when Amanda left. She is horrible at returning emails, and she is a terrible phlebotomist.
