Brooke Rossi

Dr. Rossi is a kind and caring doctor that understands how hard this is for her patients. She genuinely cares about what is happening with us and meeting our needs. She has been our doctor for so long and every time we are able to interact with her we both feel at ease and happy. She is also honest and willing to tell us the truth about things, even if they are not the best news for her. I think it's always important to ask questions of your doctor so many of our conversations happened because I asked. I am forever grateful to Dr. Rossi.

Choose Rossi and ask for her to be there for you. She is responsive to requests like "will you please do my next appointment instead of the on call person?"

For IUIs, we began with unmedicated and I struggled some at first to note my ovulation window. One of the first IUIs resulted in a chemical pregnancy so we proceeded with IUI unmedicated for a few more tries, changed sperm donor, then went to medicated when it was not working. One medicated was just Clomid, one was with trigger and Clomid. After the 7th did not work, Rossi counseled us to move on to IVF. I did a traditional medicated IVF egg retrieval and tried a fresh transfer that did not work. The next cycle was medicate - birth control month, all of the shots (PIO, trigger) and that resulted in pregnancy and healthy birth. When we came back for our second child, Rossi advised moving to a more natural cycle with some letrozole, a trigger and progesterone suppositories through 10 weeks pregnant. That second FET resulted in pregnancy and healthy birth. After a year, I began again and third FET with the same protocol and it was a negative pregnancy test. Our follow up meeting from that cycle was that since embryos were untested it was likely the embryo. I am currently pregnant after my fourth frozen embryo transfer with the same protocol.

I've blacked this out, but I think $500ish per IUI, $8000 plus meds for IVF, $3000 for FET, and now I'm on insurance so future FETs have been coinsurance around $1000 all included.

Dr. Rossi will not transfer multiple embryos.

Dr. Rossi is a kind, compassionate and trustworthy provider. She always took the time to answer any questions and explain procedures and next steps. She was open and willing to listen to me as the patient. For example, I had an embryo that was a 5 day embryo that looked just okay but they weren't sure if it would make it to freeze and I had asked to try to transfer it and she was very open and receptive to the idea. She did not dismiss it but did honestly communicate expectations on success and did transfer it. She also went out of her way to check in with me on multiple occasions. She called me personally when we had to pause treatment during COVID to talk to me and see how I was handling it. I also had complications with one of my pregnancies and when she found out, she called to check in. Just overall very caring and treated you like an individual. She is also conscious of cost for her patients, which is admirable.

Ask for all the options. In my experience, Dr. Rossi tends to go the least invasive and cost effective routes first. However, depending on your appetite for treatment and financial situation, there may be other options that increase your chances of success.

Dr. Rossi was very passionate about only transferring a single embryo at a time since I was relatively young and hadn't had multiple failed transfers yet to indicate multiple embryos were warranted. She also explained the risks of multiple embryos.

Dr. Brooke Rossi is absolutely AMAZING. When my previous physician at the clinic retired I couldn't have selected a better replacement. She was very gentle, caring and honest. She would let me know her thoughts and she would listen to my concerns. She included my thoughts when selecting my treatment plan and she was emphatic. She was so awesome that once my son was born I came to the clinic so she could meet him in person!

Be honest and open with her because she will be receptive to your concerns.

I completed several different treatment plans and I don't remember the exact names. For several treatments plan I took the estrace pills, and progesterone injection. I also have taken delestrogren/E2V injection and prometrium. My last transfer that was successful I completed an immune protocol including gonadotropin (hcg), pepcid, prednisone, lupron and vaginal progesterone.

I did several rounds of treatment and unfortunately I am unable to provide exact cost but we spent around $15,000.

Initially, I was okay with only transferring one embryo but as my attempts were continuing to be unsuccessful I did advocate for myself. So if I remember correctly my last two transfers were with two embryo's.

Dr. Rossi's compassion for her patiences is a huge strength. We have had multiple complications and set back which have been crushing but we have felt confident that she is looking to find different method and exploring all options with us. She knows that because of my complications, I have been more uncomfortable with being treated by multiple doctors and does what she can to make sure she is the one that sees me whenever possible.

Be your own advocate and do your research. Dr. Rossi will listen and work through things with you, but you have to speak up.

Due to the complications from my first retrieval Dr. Rossi set me on a plan that worked with our schedule and to avoid unnecessary pain and another failed painful transfer. She made sure that I would be put under for the retrieval, and made the injection schedule compatible with my work schedule. We have done 3 frozen medicated transfers and one fresh transfer. All of which failed to implant. We did multiple testing, saline ultrasound, uterine biopsy, bloodwork all coming back positive. We decided to try a natural cycle to see if I respond better. First cycle was canceled because I didn't respond to the Femera. Second Cycle was put back on Clomid which I was responding to, but the cycle was canceled due to COVID

It's a cattle call. They tell you to be there at 8, but that's only if you want to wait forever. There is normally a line at the door around 6:45am, if the lab techs are there early you can get your bloodwork done around 7.

The retrieval was around 15,000 before insurance, transfers were around 4,000. They do not offer a cash discount which I don't agree with. They will give insurance companies a 40% discount off their rates but not people willing to pay cash on the spot

We have done only single embryo transfers, but the possibility of multiple embryo transfers has been considered since we have had multiple failures.

Dr. Rossi was upbeat and positive upon meeting us. She not only looked at ways to better my personal chances (suggesting to check my vit. d levels), but to also look at my fiance and give him ideas and vitamins to try and help better his health as well. During our meeting we were pretty determined to do the laparoscopy. Doctor Rossi went over the pros and cons and we decided to go through at least a couple IUI'S before surgery. Unfortunately the CoVid virus has put a hold on our process.

You do not want to be ignorant in the fertility process so ask as many questions as possible.

We recently transitioned to Dr.Rossi as our previous doctor retired. Our treatment plan is to continue taking the Clomid and wait for a positive ovulation test at that time we will start the IUI process after which I will take medicine for 12 days after and begin taking pregnancy tests. She also tested my vit D levels and they were extremely low so I take one pill a week of 50,000 units of vit D. The COvid virus has put our process on hold.

Dr. Rossi has been utterly fantastic. She never gives me false hope but helps me feel optimistic at the same time. When she isn't sure, she tells my why she wasn't sure about something and walks me through her decision-making process. When she is sure, she would explain the medical research behind it. She injects humor when needed, acknowledges my feelings and fears even before I did, has called me personally a number of times for consolation and advice, and has shared recent research she had done on my behalf. The day I was supposed to stop ovarian stimulation meds and do my trigger shot for my first retrieval, I freaked out over how low my estrogen was and called the after-hours line. She took the call, listened to my concerns, let me cry, and then actually tweaked my protocol and had me do one more round of shots-which I really think did make a difference for my number of eggs ready! When I had my miscarriage from that cycle, she was so empathetic and professional and really handled it better than I could have imagined. We have had issues with my poor response since then, and she has really collaborated with me every step of the way. I really believe that she will help me get there! Go see her!

Be honest and open about what you want and need-she will listen to you. Trust her judgment but also trust yourself.

When I came to her, I had done two rounds of Clomid with my OBGYN. I was ovulating on my own but had borderline progesterone levels and a shorter luteal phase. Dr. Rossi recommended we do one more round and an HSG. She also did not like my prolactin levels, sent me for an MRI (that my regular endocrinologist had told me was unnecessary), found a prolactinoma, and started cabergoline to treat it. I had a chemical pregnancy that cycle. Because of that, we decided to do a few more medicated rounds and see if the lower prolactin levels would help me get pregnant. I asked to do letrozole out of concern the Clomid was thinning my lining. Dr. Rossi did not have that concern but was happy to oblige. Three rounds did not work. We did a round of letrozole with IUI-no pregnancy. I asked to do a round of injectibles and IUI-Dr. Rossi agreed-no pregnancy. Did a round of letrozole again (I was out of town and couldn't come in for monitoring for the injectibles) and IUI-no pregnancy. Moved straight to IVF. Did three weeks of birth control to calm my ovaries (I was ovulating really early) and then did a microdose lupron protocol with high doses of gonal-f. We upped the gonal f a little after a couple ultrasounds to see follicle growth, and then did egg retrieval. Due to only having 5 mature follicles via ultrasound, Dr. Rossi wanted to plan for a day three transfer. When we got four embryos on Day 1 from my 5 retrieved eggs, she decided that things were looking better than she expected and we should go for a day 5 transfer instead. We did a fresh transfer due to her research that they're more successful in poor responders like myself. One embryo was a grade 1 blast, so we transferred that (one more made it day 6 to freeze), and I got pregnant. At mt 7-week ultrasound, we discovered it was an anembryonic pregnancy and did a D&C the next day. I got my period 4 weeks later, and that cycle we did a saline sonogram to ensure that there was no scarring after the D&C. We did a natural start cycle with microdose lupron and high dose gonal f again. I only developed 2 follicles, so we converted to IUI (no pregnancy). We decided to start oral estrogen priming after IUI to prep for another stim cycle, but I had either 2 giant follicles or 2 cysts at baseline, so we decided to cancel. I asked to try birth control again since it worked the last time, so we did 3 weeks of a low-dose birth control then gonal f and menopur. I only got 3 follicles that time and we decided to convert to IUI again (Dr. Rossi is convinced I can produce better and we shouldn't waste the retrieval from my insurance). That was a bfn. We decided to try an estrogen patch/antagonist priming protocol, and that baseline was good so we moved forward. My cycle just got cancelled due to COVID-19 clinic shut downs, so I'm currently waiting to start back up. I'll come back and update when I start again.

The clinic tells people to come starting at 7:30 but people can get in as soon as 7 most days. Bloodwork is first come, first serve and they have 1-2 people doing bloodwork from 7am-12:30pm. Ultrasound monitoring is then done once you have your bloodwork done, though if bloodwork is backed up, they will take people for ultrasound first. I would get there between 7-7:30, and I would never wait longer than 15-20 minutes before being seen. However, most of the time, by the time you get blood drawn, do the US, and see the IVF nurse, you're there for 45-60 min. It was run very efficiently.

I had insurance coverage, so I met my out of pocket expenses and then didn't pay for the rest. So I don't have accurate numbers.

strong preference for transferring only one embryo, especially at my age (32). She said she would not consider transferring more than one, no matter the results of the retrieval. For my friend at the same clinic at age 38 in January 2020, Dr. Rossi transferred one good-quality blast and one poor-quality blast in a fresh cycle (the poor was unlikely to make it to freeze). My friend got pregnant with a single baby.

Dr. Rossi was kind but professional. I really trusted her throughout the time I was in her care. However, she simply kept having me try again and again without truly identifying the issues that I had. As a result of her recommendations, I had multiple ectopic pregnancies, with the recommendation to keep on trying. I would not recommend her to someone in my situation. I do not know if I would recommend her to someone different fertility needs.

Ask a lot of questions and do your own research.

Time intercourse with the use of hormones. After having 3 ectopics (3 cornual), we began monitoring which side I was ovulating on with the preference of conception happening when I ovulated on the right side. My most recent pregnancy happened when I ovulated on the right side and resulted in a fourth ectopic pregnancy.

Dr Rossi is very pleasant and easy to talk to. She treats you with respect and lays out all the information needed for you to make an educated decision about your own treatment. Approximately 3 months ago I had an ectopic pregnancy. I went to my local emergency room and needed emergency surgery. I had called the clinic before going into surgery to let them know but Dr Rossi wasn’t in that day. I let the nurse know and she said to keep them posted. About an hour later Dr Rossi called me herself to find out how I was doing and give me some advice to make sure the surgeon did whatever she could to spare my damaged tube. Dr Rossi also called me 2 days later to check on me and make sure surgery went ok and to get an update and talk about where we go from there. She truly cares about her patients and their well-being and does what she can to make this difficult process a little easier.

If you have had any prior testing or treatments, try to get all records from that to take with you on your consult visit. It is super helpful to have hard copies of everything right there with you and she then can dictate all your history right into your chart.

My first 3 months of treatment I took letrozle 5mg daily on cycle days 3-7 with timed intercourse. I had already tried Clomid with another doctor and although I was thought to ovulate with Clomid, she wanted to try something different. All 3 months I ovulated and all 3 months failed. After the letrozole, we switched back to Clomid and did 3 monitored IUI cycles. Again, Each cycle I ovulated and each cycle failed. We then met for a sort of “regroup” as I was getting tired of the same results. Our options were continue on oral medicated IUI cycles, try injectable IUI cycles or move on to IVF. Obviously, IVF gave us the best success rate but we pay out of pocket for treatment and can not afford IVF. We opted for injectable cycles with IUI. Dr Rossi said she would allow us to do 3 cycles but if they didn’t work that we would need to move onto IVF and that the sooner the better. I have done 2 cycles so far with Gonal-F injections beginning at 100iu on cycle day 3 and am monitored every other day. My doses have been tweaked a little here and there depending on my estradiol levels throughout the cycle. My first injectable cycle I had 1-2 mature follicles and triggered with Ovidrel for IUI 36 hours later. Beginning 3 days after IUI I start using Progesterone suppositories twice daily. Failed cycle. I am now currently in my two week wait after my second injectable cycle with the same protocol. This time I had 2-3 mature follicles. Crossing my fingers for a positive result!

My insurance covers the testing and medications so my cost was cut significantly by that. I pay approx $200 per month for the monitoring and medications. My IUIs cost $420 per cycle and an IVF cycle costs approx $10,000 (we haven’t gone through with that yet due to the cost)

Dr. Rossi makes me feel comfortable. She provides all options, and you decide what treatment you are comfortable with at the time. She is also comfortably conservative, meaning she doesn't rush to invasive surgeries without trying less invasive treatments or procedures first. When I achieved my pregnancy via IVF, I sadly miscarried. She discussed the potential "why's" to the situation, but then gave me a sincere hug and said "I'm so sorry; we will keep working..." I felt so comforted and understood in that moment, which is why I continue to see her. She has also done both of my surgeries (lap. cystectomy and open myomectomy) with good results. I look forward to my 2nd IVF attempt in the summer 2018, once my uterus is completely healed from the myomectomy.

Prepare a list of questions before your appointment. It's so easy to forget something you wanted to discuss with her.

I'm single ttc, so all of my procedures have been with donor sperm. My first IUI was a natural cycle. Then I used clomid for the next few IUI's. My 5th IUI was a canceled IVF cycle due to lack of response (didn't have enough follicles to warrant an IVF cycle), so I did IUI. All 5 IUI's were negative. My 1st and only IVF resulted in a pregnancy in Oct. 2017, but I miscarried at 7 weeks. I had transferred two day 3 embryos, and was pregnant with a singleton. Since I had a miscarriage, we decided to move forward with an open myomectomy in Jan. 2018 to remove 6 fibroids, as well as endometriosis (which we already knew I had from the cystectomy I had in April 2017). I've done two egg retrievals. One before the 1st IVF cycle and a second cycle before the myomectomy. So now I have two day 3 embryos and two day 6 embryos. Once my uterus heals in 6 months (July 2018), I will transfer another embryo(s).

IUI with donor sperm was $300 (not including the cost of sperm). IVF is $10,000 for egg retrieval and embryo transfer, plus another $2,000 or so for meds from a local pharmacy (depends on your specific protocol).

Yes, my Dr. and the UH practice follows the guidelines; however, it depends on your age, health issues, etc. As well as the determined quality of your embryos, etc. The entire team discusses which embryos and how many you should transfer beforehand, but it's ultimately up to you and what you are comfortable with the day of transfer.

When Dr. Rossi worked at the Cleveland office, I received no notification that she was leaving until another doctor walked into my procedure and introduced herself. None of the doctors in this office have a relationship with their patients. The nurses also switch every time I am in the office. Strictly a number.

Unfortunately, I didn’t have much of an opportunity to get to know her other than in our initial consultation.

PCOS- 2.5 mg Letrozole up to 5 mg of Leteozole. Follicles were growing, but fertilization/implantation never happened. Switched to IUI with trigger shot. 3x, no baby. On to IVF with no other options other than timed intercourse or another IUI.

Many appointments were covered for monitoring. Met deductible of $600 early on. IUI was $420 for each round. IVF is approximately $12000 depending on the package and that does not include meds.

I completely disagree with my clinic’s policy on only implanting one unless you’re 35+. Again, it’s about money -not success. If a single embryo transfer does not take, the next transfer is half off. If you elect to transfer multiples and none of them take, there is no discount for the next transfer.

As I mentioned before, she was kind, caring, compassionate, gentle, and helpful. She celebrated my small victories with a genuine enthusiasm. She made me feel comfortable and cared for. I truly believed that she wanted to see me succeed.

Stay positive, ask questions! She is more than willing to help.

Dr. Rossi worked with me before I was attempting to conceive. She was managing my PCOS with metformin and birth control pills. When my husband and I were ready to try, she started me out on Letrozol. When that did not work, they combined Letrozol and Clomid. This combo made me ovulate. We repeated this 6 times but it did not result in a pregnancy. Throughout these cycles we did multiple tests including an HSG, bloodwork, and monitoring my cycles with ultrasound.

It was covered under my insurance.

I did not discuss IVF in detail with Dr. Rossi.

My diagnosis with UH after seeing Dr. Rossi was that I plain and simply had recurrent pregnancy loss. I had two miscarriages prior to my care with UH and one under Dr. Rossi's care and 1 under Dr. Goldfarb's care. My largest frustration is I was never told what was wrong with me. There were no answers to what I could try and do to change my body, my health, etc., if there was something related to the recurrent pregnancy loss. I was not told to take my basal body temperature and chart it, I was not told to get various blood tests. I essentially wasted 5 years knowing something was wrong with me but getting no assistance. I largely felt because I could get pregnant and did not need IVF they would throw some drugs into me, and see if it works type of mentality. I do not like taking medications unless I absolutely have to and I felt as if drugs were the solution.

do your research, research blood tests that are out there such as AMH, FSH, etc., I was not given these tests. I had no idea what my levels were. When I finally had the tests performed on the recommendation of my acupuncturist, I was off the charts with some of my levels. Be your own advocate and if you are in the area see Anne Kinchen for acupuncture. She is brilliant and more versed in fertility, drugs, tests that are needed.

95% of the costs associated with Dr. Rossi were covered by my insurance because I was not pursuing IVF. The IUI had to be paid out of pocket, and was not covered by insurance.

Like I said previously, Dr Rossi has been thorough with developing a plan to help get me pregnant. She understands that certain procedures are too costly for my husband & I & has looked at all routes in mapping out potential plans. We know the risk & cost with everything & wish we could afford it all. With my PCOS I know we need to be more aggressive & if I'm not pregnant by the summer we need to figure out a way to be able to afford the injections & iui. We've have several failed iui's & my husband is worried in shelling out more cash to something with a very low chance of working. We're tired of being disappointed but Dr Rossi has been willing to meet with us on several occasions to see what she can do. She has been helpful & we're still hoping for a miracle!

I would say that dr Rossi gives her patients the time to listen that most doctors don't normally do.

She prescribed me Clomid for several months (even though I was on letrozole for 7 months prior). We did a procedure to make sure my tubes were open & followed up with the trigger shot & iui. That again failed so my husband & I took two months off to relax & recover, & then was back at it on clomid. Now I'm on letrozole with the trigger shot & timed intercourse to see if that works. If it doesn't work over the next few months, then we need injectables .

Majority of the time Dr. Rossi was able to have procedures coated or in a way to ensure that my insurance would cover it and there wouldn't be any hassling when I would be billed. She would review our insurance information to make sure certain things would be covered and advised us when they wouldn't. I believe once or twice we did have an issue but luckily we were able to have it resolved.

Dr. Rossi always took the time to explain things to us and made us feel comfortable enough to ask questions. She has exceptional bedside manner. I do feel that some things were overlooked that could have affected my fertility. I had to be my own advocate for testing. It turned out that I was Vitamin D deficient and my tsh level was elevated during my second pregnancy. I wish that I had been monitored better as I was already a known hypo patient and later found out that I have Hashimoto's disease. They only tested my TSH and never ran a full panel on my thyroid. This may have helped to prevent my first miscarriage. However, I dealt with the nurses on most of my visits and not Dr. Rossi.

Make sure that you request any blood work that you feel is necessary. You have to be your own advocate and become knowledgeable enough to know what to request. Otherwise, you may spend thousands of dollars on unsuccesful treatments only to find out, you just needed thyroid meds or Vitamin D supplements to restore fertility.

At 39, I conceived easily after two months of trying naturally. At 8 weeks we found that the heartbeat stopped. We tried again naturally for 3 months after the first loss and then started clomid with no other intervention. After 3 more months of not conceiving, we did an IUI on Clomid. I conceived with the first IUI and it turned out to be an ectopic pregnancy. Dr. Rossi suggested we try IUI again and did not feel I needed intervention as aggressive as IVF, considering I had two pregnancies in less than a year. Our focus is now more on maintaining once I conceive again, rather than just the conception. I decided to see an acupuncturist and see if we can conceive without medical intervention.

This is not applicable to my treatment.

Brooke Rossi is an excellent doctor. She wants to help and assist to give me everything I've ever wanted- a child. She has listened to my story (losing a child in the past during open heart surgery) and my fears of the future. She makes me feel comfortable and I feel safe in her care. I know she is and will continue to do everything to make our dreams come true. Unfortunatley, we are dealing with male factor infertility, which is not something she can assist with. She referred us to an infertility urologist and works with that doctor to keep up to date with the status of the sperm count. Even though we are seeing the urologist a lot more than Dr. Rossi right now, I know she is still there for us and she's ready for us to come back and further our treatments.

Be patient. Dr. Rossi is a very busy doctor with many patients. I understand why because she is a great doctor but it's hard to wait for long periods of time to get in to see her. The infertility is stressful and having to wait so long isn't the best.

Dr. Rossi ran bloodwork on me, did a vaginal ultrasound, and ordered a HSG test. I completed all. She also referred by fiancé to a infertility urologist.

The consultation was free. Everything else is too expensive and I'm having a very difficult time paying the medical bills.

I remember one instance I had concerns and she called me about 8 at night after what I’m sure was a long day for her. She spent 30 minutes talking through everything with me and we decided on a course of action. I slept that night because she took the time to call me. I didn’t get charged for a visit, she didn’t make me come in, she cared about me as a human who wanted a child more than anything and was anxious and worried every step of the way. And I generally felt like o was inconveniencing her. Her compassion is unmatched. When I had to stop treatments because life through me a huge curveball and 6 months later I called the clinic asking if I could get her opinion on my chances moving forward, I received a call back which brought me to tears. When I told her why I stopped coming a didn’t proceed with IVF I could hear the sadness on my behalf and empathy in her voice. Which I have experienced with very few doctors. And then she again took the time to talk to me about what my best options would be in the next year if I wanted to try and have a baby in the future. All of this knowing I was no longer a patient of hers and wouldn’t be, as I had plans to move away. She still cared about me as a human desperate for a child and was willing to take the time to consult with me over the phone and at the some time ease some of my anxieties while also being straightforward about my options and chances. It’s a delicate balance that Dr.Rossi achieves with ease.

I don’t remember all the specifics but I did 3 months of just clomid with monitoring and timed intercourse to get me to ovulate. And then clomid with IUI and then injectibles. I sometimes needed to add additional treatments to aid with estrogen levels and to help build a lining. She encouraged me to continue with my natural treatments as well which included monitoring my diet to ensure I was getting the right foods as I lose weight and fall to an unhealthy BMI when under stress and acupuncture to help with stress, and also fertility. Most cycles but I was able to follow through with IUIs. I had 2 cancelled cycles. We were beginning the steps to move to IVF when I had to stop treatment due to unfortunate life circumstances.

I believe I just had to pay a specialist copay to work with her and $400 for each IUI. Because I have ovulation issues they worked to code all of my monitoring ultrasounds as diagnostic which was incredibly helpful. The dye test cost maybe 1500 out of pocket, but I imagine that depends on insurance and the hormones and medications were a couple thousand each cycle but again depends on if you have insurance that will cover any.

Dr. Rossi failed to follow through on my test results, we did not find out until we conceived a son with a rare genetic chromosomal disorder. (Two years after Dr. Rossi ordered the test) Dr. Rossi shared the results were never given to her from the lab at the hospital she worked for.

Follow through on your own test results and ask to see them. I was told they were normal but never saw the results because they did not get sent to her and were definitely not normal.

After 3 miscarriages Dr. Rossi started me on progesterone and since I got pregnant I was told that was my reasoning for recurrent miscarriages. (Really it is because I have a balanced translocation)

She is very knowledgeable and honest about my treatment. She has a good bedside manner the majority of the time. Even though she is knowledgeable, there are times that I felt she didn't give me all the information. I'm not sure how much she understands endometriosis.

Do your own research on fertility treatments and come up with specific questions to ask.

The only things covered by my insurance were ultrasounds and blood work. Everything else was paid for out of pocket. An IUI with medication like Clomid cost around $500. An IUI with injectables (such as Follistim) cost around $1100. An IVF cycle cost about $9800. All of the medications for the IVF cycle cost around $4000. Therefore, one IVF cycle at UH costs around $14,000-15,000 if you are paying out of pocket.

Dr. Rossi was a wonderful and compassionate doctor. If I called and specifically requested to talk to her, she would return my call as soon as she could (though the nurses were usually able to give me the answers I needed). She explained the IVF process thoroughly and in a way we could understand it. We discussed our odds and risks and made a plan with her that suited our situation and desired outcome.

You probably will not see Dr. Rossi at every visit. All of my morning monitoring visits were handled by the nursing staff and techs. If she was in the office she would pop in to say hello. The procedures will also be handled by the doctor on the schedule that day, but all are wonderful and well informed.

We did start by doing a few more rounds of oral medication with IUI. This was mostly diagnostic, to monitor my cycles more closely than my OBGYN did and get an idea of what my body was/was not doing. The result of these was simply unexplained infertility. We did have one chemical pregnancy from these cycles. Dr. Rossi discussed with us that our options going forward were injectable stimulation with IUI or IVF. We discussed the potential risk of large numbers of multiples or cancelled cycles since I was a high responder to stimulation and opted to go directly to IVF to have more control over how many embryos were given a chance to implant. I did not feel like we were pushed by Dr. Rossi to go in any direction, but I did trust her opinion and ended up taking her recommendation. We started the first cycle with a lupron protocol, but when my body ovulated through the lupron we cancelled the stimulation and egg retrieval and started over the next month with an antagonistic protocol. Dr. Rossi was very conservative with the stimulation and it ended up being a good thing since I did respond quickly and strongly and we ended up having to back off the stimulation toward the end. After egg retrieval I did end up overstimulating a little so we decided to freeze all the day 5 embryos and give my body the month off. My first transfer the next month ended up being successful and resulted in a pregnancy that is currently in the third trimester.

IVF was not covered by my insurance. The "package price" for egg retrieval, fertilization with or without ICSI and one transfer was about 9k. Medications were not included. Monitoring appointments were not covered by my insurance but were $200 per appointment.

Dr Rossi has always been upfront with us. She always tries to give us as much information as she can about all of the different options available even if they aren’t the “traditional” route. We have went from IUI’s to IVF and back to IUI’s which is where we have had most of our success. It has wonderful that she has been there beside us and available to talk with each loss each time being an encouraging force.

Trust her. She has a lot of knowledge and is willing to go different paths to be able to figure out what is going on.

Recently (within the past year) we have started seeing a reproductive immunologist who has been helpful who Dr Rossi referred us to. It has seemed to help using blood thinners, met Forman, and plaquenil

The prices have changed over the past few years.

Dr Rossi encouraged using one embryo at a time. Offered to do two after we had a couple losses but we declined.

Dr. Rossi's initial consultation with me was virtual because of COVID. She made sure she understood me as a person as well as my medical chart. She was always very kind and knowledgeable. She always made sure I understood the course of action and what was expected of myself and her and her staff as well.

I have PCOS so the goal was to ovulate and make sure there was no other reason as to why I was not getting pregnant on my own. I was given Letrozole and had timed intercourse. I also went and got the procedure done where they shoot dye up into your tubes to ensure they are clear.

This clinic was cheaper than my regular doctor's. I feel that all of my procedures and tests were reasonably priced.

Dr Rossi is very compassionate and allows time in the visit to go over every option and details. She is very honest. She understand my situation and is reassuring that a child is in my future. She takes patient preference into the plan of care.

Trust the process

3 rounds with clomid and 1 with letrizole. Negative results thus far. She did not feel use of ovidrel was necessary because I had accurate home opk kits, although she was open to using if I preferred

I felt as though I did not receive proper testing/diagnosis. My first round of IVF should have been canceled. We went through with it at the last second, and I was not mentally prepared for what was happening.

Ask tons of questions.

My protocol started very basic / low dose. Because I was not responding, I was practically maxed out on stims. It was more of a “one size fits all” approach- and it did NOT work.

Cattle call! The waiting room would be filled with patients. First come, first served.

Dr. Rossi allowed us to transfer our last 2 frozen blasts because the quality was so poor.

She was really nice and compassionate with good bedside manner. She would spend a lot of time with me answering my list of questions and concerns. She allowed us to decide the next corse of action in terms of our available options. After several miscarriages with unknown reasons she began throwing everything into the pot, which is when I lost confidence in her abilities to get me the results I desired. The treatments were controversial and risky with only a small success rate.

Ask a lot of questions and be your own advocate!

Femara: superovulation with one good egg. Experimental injection: increased chance of pregnancy (myself and my partner opted not to do this)

Dr. Rossi was kind, compassionate, and we truly felt that she was invested in the outcome of our cycles. She was direct with us when we had less than favorable results during workup and during our losses. She is a very trustworthy physician.

Be patient - a thorough workup can take a few months.

Around $12K for retrieval and fresh transfer in 2019. Around 3K for frozen transfer. Not including meds.

Single transfer recommended, did not ask about multiples but I know they discourage it
