Dr. Pier has always been upfront and has answered all questions that my husband and I had for him. Dr. Pier always made sure that we were comfortable and had all the resources and materials needed to proceed with the IVF process...having someone as caring and as knowledgeable as Dr. Pier on your side finally levels the playing field when it comes to infertility and the challenging effects it has on a couple.
The people at the REI Clinic at Madigan Army Medical Center and the personnel at SRM have met and exceeded my standards when it comes to care...Everyone that we've encountered seem very knowledgeable in the field. They understand the complex sensitive nature of infertility and always answer our questions and concerns with care...staff were very transparent when it came to explaining the cost, procedure, and risks involved with IVF.
How was your experience with Bruce Pier at Madigan Army Medical Center?
We started seeing Dr. Pier shortly after the laparoscopy that I underwent in March of 2019. Dr. Pier has always been upfront and has answered all questions that my husband and I had for him. Dr. Pier always made sure that we were comfortable and had all the resources and materials needed to proceed with the IVF process. If not for the fact that Dr. Pier can only see patients with Tricare or military couples, I would recommend Dr. Pier to any and everyone suffering from infertility.
What's one piece of advice would you give a prospective patient of Bruce Pier at Madigan Army Medical Center?
The advice that I would give to any perspective patient of Dr. Pier would be to finally breathe. You are in good hands with Dr. Pier and his staff at the REI Clinic at Madigan Army Medical Center. My husband and I understand that infertility is very stressful, having someone as caring and as knowledgeable as Dr. Pier on your side finally levels the playing field when it comes to infertility and the challenging effects it has on a couple.
During treatment, were you treated like a number or a human with Bruce Pier at Madigan Army Medical Center?
Dr. Pier is the 2nd doctor that we started seeing more often at Madigan Army Medical Center. The REI staff works as a team, so you'd get to interact with different residents and sometimes medical students on each visit. At first it was a bit odd seeing different face(s), but you'll get to know the constant friendly staff like Mike, who welcomes and checks you in and the registered nurses like Marisa. Everyone that we've encountered seem very knowledgeable in the field. They understand the complex sensitive nature of infertility and always answer our questions and concerns with care.
Describe the protocols Bruce Pier used in your cycles at Madigan Army Medical Center and their degree of success.
Treatment strategies that Dr. Pier recommended to myself and my husband were to first utilize IUI to try to conceive. We did this for about 6 months, the medications used were Letrozole and Ovidrel. After seeing no results for that 6 month period Dr. Pier then looked at my results from the laparoscopy and discovered that my remaining fallopian tube also had significant scarring. Dr. Pier then recommended that we try IVF, Dr. Pier and his staff were very transparent when it came to explaining the cost, procedure, and risks involved with IVF. The IVF cycle that we completed with Dr. Pier yielded significant results, 24 eggs retrieved, 20 matured, 15 fertilized, and 9 embryos. The medications that Dr. Pier prescribed for the IVF cycle were Gonal F, Menopur, Ganirelix, and Ovidrel.
Describe your experience with your nurse at Madigan Army Medical Center. (Assigned nurse: Marisa Villagracia RN and Mike (worked at the front desk))
The staff at the REI Clinic at Madigan Army Medical Center always showed my husband and I compassion and understanding every single visit we had there. Without them and their tireless efforts of making my husband and I comfortable with our care we probably would not have yielded the results we did for our IVF cycle.

Success w/ Doc Too early to know
Dr. Pier listens to me, takes his time to answer my questions, and allows me to try and tailor my plan based on my needs and research...My experience with Dr.Pier has been positive. I started with a long and lengthy consultation in January and was scheduled to start my IVF cycle in May, but due to Covid, plans are on hold. Dr. Pier was in touch with my out of state OBGYN and has been very great at communicating in the portal about medications, my questions, etc.
The nursing staff at Madigan are amazing. They answer questions quickly and are great communicators...$8500 for IVF and Fresh Transfer, with embryo storage at SRM rates...They have been very great at communicating, and overall, very positive and reassuring. Shoutout to Mike, the front desk coordinator, who seemed like an angel that answered all of my questions on my first call.

[Dr. Bruce Pier] is very professional and extreamly nice. He made me feel like he really was intrested in helping us begin our family. He was willing to up my doses if need be and change the plans and was straight forward...We did letrozole then trigger which allowed me to get pregnant via iui but it was a chemical next we moved on to a hybrid treatment using both plus injectables unfortunately didnt work...was very caring and straight forward. He seemed like he really cared about my outcomes
They [nurses at Tripler Army Medical Center] are amazing but very busy and can be hard to get in contact with on the phone...For an iui it was about $100 you only pay for the sperm wash...You will need a referral to them. Your meds are covered which is great. It can be a bit of a wait to do ivf not long maybe 3 months because they have alot of patients. But the entire staff is amazing...We did letrozole then trigger which allowed me to get pregnant via iui but it was a chemical next we moved on to a hybrid treatment using both plus injectables unfortunately didnt work
