Success w/ Doc Too early to know
Dr. Carlos Sueldo is incredibly thorough and professional during appointments. He explains things in medical terminology and then explains what it all means in layman’s terms, which I really appreciate because I like to look things up and research, but I find it so intimidating when doctor’s only explain using medical terms and expect a patient to already know what it all means. During physical exams, he is professional and gentle and again, explains everything as he goes...
The whole nursing staff [at Women's Specialty & Fertility Center] is very competent and their communication between themselves regarding patients is succinct and professional. I never have to explain my care plan when I call and speak to anyone other than my primary nurse...This clinic’s strength’s are that they are friendly, knowledgeable, and always treat me as a patient, respectfully...For our first round, which included egg retrieval and a fresh transfer of 2 day 3 embryos, the cost was $12k. A subsequent round, which was a frozen transfer, was $4K. These costs did not include medications....

Describe the specific things that went wrong at Women's Specialty & Fertility Center.
The only thing that ever went wrong at this clinic, is that a virtual appointment for a follow up was not scheduled correctly so I needed to call to check on it, versus having them call with appointment details. It was a small inconvenience that was fixed.

How was your experience with Carlos Sueldo at Women's Specialty & Fertility Center?
Dr Sueldo and all of the team at the clinic were always so nice and compassionate. We never left feeling unheard or unseen. We were always explained every procedure in detail as well. He was very understanding and accommodating when I wanted to transfer two embryos despite his recommendation and the risks. I always felt like I was in good hands. I will never forget my transfer. He had me look at the ultrasound screen and said “You see those tiny glowing dots? Those are your babies.” Just a very kind and warm human. Bedside manner plays such a big part during such a rough time. We’re already so emotional and anxious and I always felt at ease during my appointments.
What's one piece of advice would you give a prospective patient of Carlos Sueldo at Women's Specialty & Fertility Center?
Don’t be afraid to ask questions and to be open and transparent. This staff will guide you, hear you, and truly have your best interest.

Dr Sueldo never seemed in a rush to talk to us. He was kind and gentle and soft spoken. He was attentive and just had a welcoming feeling.
Describe the protocols Carlos Sueldo used in your cycles at Women's Specialty & Fertility Center and their degree of success.
I remember them cutting back on my meds before the retrieval due to my ultrasound showing an excess amount of follicles. Their fear was I would suffer from OHSS and I had no idea what that even was so I appreciated them really staying on top of everything. I know that should come without saying but I’ve heard horror stories. The office also suggested a pharmacy for my meds that worked with me and cut a lot of the cost down. On the day of my transfer for IVF, Dr Sueldo really wanted to transfer one embryo. I wanted two. We talked and he let me know his rationales for one embryo and the risks with two. Me being stubborn and desperate, I continued to ask for two and he respected my decision. They really stayed in tune with my body and how I was responding to every med which to me was reassuring because I felt like I was in the right place. A place that was going to follow all the steps to try and ensure a successful treatment.
Describe your experience with the nursing staff at Women's Specialty & Fertility Center.
The nurses were always so kind. There were two that I won’t forget. One was Ashley. I saw her a few times and I knew if she was there, I was going to be well taken care of. She was just calming and kind. She was a part of my first IUI and my retrieval. She cared and was so empathetic. The other was Evelyn, who I believe is an MA. She was wonderful too. Always so nice and cheerful. You go there so often you start to build a rapport with certain people and I felt like I did with these two.
Describe your experience with Women's Specialty & Fertility Center.
The clinic is clean and easy to find. It’s next to the hospital as well. Everything was pretty accessible. Our treatment was during Covid so unfortunately my husband couldn’t come in but hopefully now that has changed

Every NP and medical assistant [at Women's Specialty & Fertility Center] is amazing. They have hugged me after my miscarriages and they always remember me when I call...They have everything on-site, including the lab and operating room...I paid around $12-15K in treatment and medications for each fresh round of IVF, and about $2500-$3K in costs for a frozen embryo transfer
How was your experience with Carlos Sueldo at Women's Specialty & Fertility Center?
Dr. Sueldo is a very kind person who is compassionate yet professional. I have been through years of fertility treatment with his office and I have always been treated well. When my first IVF cycle didn't give us any usable embryos, Dr. Sueldo changed my protocol and offered me a discount on my next round because of the previous outcome. He has a very high level of experience and really wants his patients to have the babies they want.
What's one piece of advice would you give a prospective patient of Carlos Sueldo at Women's Specialty & Fertility Center?
Come prepared with your questions when you meet with him. He is very knowledgeable and keeps up on industry research.
During treatment, were you treated like a number or a human with Carlos Sueldo at Women's Specialty & Fertility Center?
Dr. Sueldo and his staff are always so friendly and give me a personal experience. I always receive very detailed explanation of my health and options, and their office does a great job of following up and making everything very clear.
Describe the protocols Carlos Sueldo used in your cycles at Women's Specialty & Fertility Center and their degree of success.
Our first IVF round didn't yield any usable embryos, and our drugs and amounts used were changed to give us better results. I have been through so many fertility treatments that I don't remember all of the specifics. Our second cycle gave us six day-5 embryos and we have had 2 positive pregnancy tests from those embryos after they were frozen. One of those was a twin pregnancy.
Describe your experience with your nurse at Women's Specialty & Fertility Center. (Assigned nurse: Carla)
Every NP and medical assistant is amazing. They have hugged me after my miscarriages and they always remember me when I call. They are responsive and helped me with every step, and every question I had. I love their staff.
Describe your experience with Women's Specialty & Fertility Center.
This clinic is very responsive and friendly. Their building is new and their facilities are clean and upgraded. They have everything on-site, including the lab and operating room. As with any health care professional, you should come prepared and be your own advocate. The staff can help you best when you share everything with them.
Describe the costs associated with your care under Carlos Sueldo at Women's Specialty & Fertility Center.
I believe I paid around $12-15K in treatment and medications for each fresh round of IVF, and about $2500-$3K in costs for a frozen embryo transfer. The costs will go up if you get pregnant because you'll need more meds to stay pregnant.
Describe Carlos Sueldo's approach to eSET (elective single embryo transfer) vs. multiple embryo transfer at Women's Specialty & Fertility Center.
Dr. Sueldo respects the patient's wishes to transfer 1-2 embryos based on their history and situation. He has always been helpful when we were making our decision.

Dr. Carlos Sueldo was vary helpful. And we went into our first consultation appointment, he explained to me and my husband that i had pcos and that the course of treatment would be medforman with Famara 5 mg, the trigger shot and baby aspirin. He also explained that the reason he was going to be doing that was because I was overweight and they have found with people overweight they respond more to famara then Clomid. With my OB I had already done six rounds of Clomid to all the way up to 250 mg with out any results. I would go in to check my egg production right before I would do the trigger shot. We were only at the clinic for three rounds before I became pregnant.

I thought [Dr. Carlos Sueldo] he was a great doctor but was very blunt and up front about things which is good but also feel like they should show a little more compassion...Cycle 1: Femara 5mg for 7 days then added Clomid 50 mg days 8-11. Produce 3 follicles and did a trigger shot on day 12 with intercourse that day and the next. Treatment was unsuccessful Cycle 2: Femara 5 mg for cycle days 3-9...ultrasound on day 12 showed a 20 mm follicle...
[Women's Specialty & Fertility Center] Weakness I would say is that they aren’t open on the weekends which is hard for IUI patients. Strength is the nurses there do call back same day and are very prompt at getting your questions answered by a doctor...IUI was $500 Follicle ultrasound appointment $95 Trigger shot $140 Femara $20 Sperm count analysis $145

How was your experience with Carlos Sueldo at Women's Specialty & Fertility Center?
Dr. Sueldo is the perfect doctor for me. He takes the time I need to explain all the options for my treatment. He did all my ultrasounds, the egg retrieval, and two tranfers and was able to share next steps when things didn’t go a planned. He’s a calm and thoughtful man who wants each of his clients to have success. When I was struggling with bleeding while I was pregnant, he rearranged his schedule to make sure I was seen in the office by him. When it turned out I was having a miscarriage he was the one to do a D&C on me. My husband feels comfortable with Dr. Sueldo and trusts his judgment. With all my heartache through this process Dr. Sueldo has helped me see the light that a baby is possible.
