Dr. Nezhat gave me a very personalized experience. I traveled to his clinic from out of town. He had already spent an hour virtually with me. During my pre-op appointment he spent 2 hours meeting with me and using ultrasound to map out my surgery. He was extremely detailed and answered all my questions. He called me several times to check in and answer questions after surgery.
The nursing staff [at Nezhat Medical Center] was kind, and caring. They communicated really well, and I always felt really taken care of...The only negative thing about this clinic is that insurance does not cover surgery for endometriosis. You have to pay out of pocket. Because this is such a specialized surgery center, and surgeries are long and labor intensive, insurance will try to make you go to an in-network OBGYN. But I can't imagine an OBGYN spending this much time excising endo and removing scar tissue. It is worth every penny I had to pay out of pocket.

What's one piece of advice would you give a prospective patient of Ceana Nezhat at Nezhat Medical Center?
He is very knowledgeable about endometriosis. Bring all your questions. He will answer them all. His office manager, Maryanne, was amazing at organizing my travel and helping with insurance claims. Make sure you call her to learn about your options for payments.
During treatment, were you treated like a number or a human with Ceana Nezhat at Nezhat Medical Center?
Doctor Nezhat and his clinic were extremely responsive to emails and phone calls. The clinic was with me every step of the way from scheduling appointments, answering questions, insurance negotiation, and answering all of my questions.
Describe the protocols Ceana Nezhat used in your cycles at Nezhat Medical Center and their degree of success.
I was experiencing severe bloating, pain, and hormonal issues before I met him. I was done with family building, but my endometriosis was causing me so many issues. My periods were lasting 10 days and coming every couple of weeks. He mapped our surgery with ultrasound the day before. The surgery was over 5 hours long and he left no stone unturned. He removed my uterus, fallopian tubes, cervix, appendix, and left my ovaries (since I am young and didn't want to go into menopause. He removed scar tissue from my csection scar, and throughout my abdomen. He used excision. He thinks that he got all of the endo, and I will be symptom free for a very long time. I have never felt better. I'm a month out from surgery and am experiencing a much better quality of life.
