Dr. Mansfield is a very kind and warm human being. She was very supportive when discovering I had miscarried and handled the appointment as well as can be expected considering. Her care and concern was easily felt...she was the one to do all the sonograms and that she is very hands on with cases rather than just popping in to give results....
The major strength of the clinic [Aspire Fertility] was Megan who manned the front desk. She was always on point, available to help with any concerns, and friendly. If you ever encounter difficulty getting a response from the coordinator or nurse she is always able to help and to get answers...There was a lapse in communication and was provided incorrect instructions on a cycle by a nurse that caused my cycle to be extended. There were multiple occasions I had to call to ask about a protocol due to not being provided clear information...

Describe the protocols Christine Mansfield used in your cycles at Aspire Fertility - Dallas (Prelude Network clinic) and their degree of success.
I don’t remember the exact protocol for my 2 failed IUIs or my IVF cycle. Due to my DOR we were more aggressive with dosing. Although, my body did not respond to the stimulation and I only had 2 eggs retrieved.

The nurse was knowledgeable and friendly each interaction and readily available for communication online or via email.

She [Dr. Christine Mansfield] always greeted my husband and I by our names. And anytime she knew could tell I was anxious or upset, she would calm me down and was never afraid of giving a hug if it was needed...She doesn’t hide anything and tells you the honest truth but in a kind way. She is warm and someone you feel comfortable around.
[Aspire Fertility - Dallas] is its own facility in a shared building space. Everything is always clean and everyone is always friendly. The area where they do retrievals and transfers is actually very relaxing...The clinic has a set protocol of only transferring one embryo on the first transfer but now that we are needing to do a second one, we have the option...

She doesn’t hide anything and tells you the honest truth but in a kind way. She is warm and someone you feel comfortable around. I can’t give her enough praise or recommend her fast enough. I’m lucky she was the first doctor I saw and didn’t feel the need to look around.
What's one piece of advice would you give a prospective patient of Christine Mansfield at Aspire Fertility - Dallas (Prelude Network clinic)?
You’re going to love her.

Describe your experience with Aspire Fertility - Dallas (Prelude Network clinic).
Aspire is its own facility in a shared building space. Everything is always clean and everyone is always friendly. The area where they do retrievals and transfers is actually very relaxing. Going there will never feel like a dreaded task because they truly treat you like family and not a patient.
Describe the costs associated with your care under Christine Mansfield at Aspire Fertility - Dallas (Prelude Network clinic).
Egg retrieval, frozen embryos storage for a year, and first frozen transfer were lumped together :$18,000. Medicine was paid separately and was around $4000 for everything from egg retrieval to the first transfer. Our transfer failed and in order to do another one it will be $3500 to the clinic and medicine cost will be separate and I’m not sure how much that will be at the moment.
Describe Christine Mansfield's approach to eSET (elective single embryo transfer) vs. multiple embryo transfer at Aspire Fertility - Dallas (Prelude Network clinic).
The clinic has a set protocol of only transferring one embryo on the first transfer but now that we are needing to do a second one, we have the option. She did give us the risk and her opinions but it’s ultimately our decision.

Dr Mansfield is great. It is obvious to see that she cares for her patients and is very knowledgeable. She can come across as over the top, but I thought she was great and felt very comfortable in her care. I came to her after a poor experience at a different clinic and it was like night and day. I feel like I was being cheated an amazing experience before after coming to see Dr Mansfield!...decided my best option to start with would be Clomid and then a trigger shot of Ovidrel. She thoroughly went over the purpose and the risks. We then came in and she performed IUI for me. Follow up in 11 days for a blood test to check for pregnancy.
Every nurse [at Aspire Fertility] was friendly, open, and kind. There honesty isn’t too much interaction with the nursing staff, which is nice, as that means you have more face to face with the doctor...They have a very straight forward cash pay fee schedule that is shared on consult visit with breakdowns of what is and is not included. I paid $1250 for one IUI cycle which did not include any medication or labs. My insurance covered my consult with just a co-pay. Then of course had the cost for the donor sperm.

What's one piece of advice would you give a prospective patient of Christine Mansfield at Aspire Fertility - Dallas (Prelude Network clinic)?
I don’t have much in this realm. I did not do testing here due to transferring clinics prior to treatment. I would say though to be sure you ask if you should take anything prior to tests (which the old place did not) and I had a lot of discomfort as a result.
During treatment, were you treated like a number or a human with Christine Mansfield at Aspire Fertility - Dallas (Prelude Network clinic)?
Dr Mansfield can come across at first as seeming fake due to her positive attitude. I feel she is actually just that nice of a person, loves what she does, and truly cares for other (which is rarely seen anymore). I found her a refreshing change from the first doctor I went to. She never made me feel rushed and always open to any questions or concerns I might have had.

I’ve had a hard time with the financial portion. It could be due to miscommunication with insurances as well. Just make sure all of your insurance stuff is in line and you understand all of it...They’re [Vivere Arizona] all nothing short of amazing. Leah has come in on her day off to be there for my transfer. If I’m there for a procedure, they stop in the room just to check on me even if they’re not helping in the OR. Frances has called me crying with bad news. They’re all so caring and compassionate and this is what I love the most about being there. They make you truly feel like you’re family.
How was your experience with Christine Mansfield at Arizona Reproductive Institute (closed)?
My OBGYN sent me to her for an HSG after I had a consult with a different RE in town. The second I met her during my HSG I knew I needed to make the switch. Infertility has been such a hard thing for me. The feeling of the unknown is the absolute worst part. The moment I met her, I knew she was passionate about her job, making me feel comfortable and also just giving me hope. So ensures me all of the time that this is going to happen for my family. She’s very kind and optomistic. After our loss, she was so understanding and sat with me while I cried. I would recommend her to a friend or family member 100 times over.

Buckle up! This could be a long ride.
During treatment, were you treated like a number or a human with Christine Mansfield at Arizona Reproductive Institute (closed)?
Dr. Mansfield’s bedside manner has been amazing. My fertility journey has been much longer than I have expected. Unfortunately we suffered a miscarriage after our first embryo transfer. I was completely broken and she was so empathetic. Her and the majority of her staff have been through IVF and they totally sit and cry with you. She is truly an amazing doctor. I was laid off unfortunately from my 16 year job in May of 2018 and have been focused solely on making a baby through science. Being in their office is literally my part time job!
Describe the protocols Christine Mansfield used in your cycles at Arizona Reproductive Institute (closed) and their degree of success.
When I had both of my IUIs the protocol was basically the same. Monitor my follicles and trigger shot and then procedure. I had that 2 times. Both were extremely painful for me. We discovered my uterus is basically upside down. We decided after the 2nd IUI failed to Go through with egg retrieval. I was on gonalf, menopur, Cetrotide and hcg. I was able to produce 28 eggs. 19 were mature, 14 fertilized with ICSI and 8 of them made it to day 5/6. Following my retrieval i has surgery to remove polyps in hopes for a successful transfer. In oct of 2018 we transferred 2 embryos. We found out at 6 weeks 3 days that we lost the baby. We decided to PGS test our leftover embryos to hopefully help us with not miscArrying again. We ended up with 4/6 that were normal. 2 boys 2 girls. We transferred 2 in December (failed) and 2 in January (also failed.) so now, we’re back to square 1. We have an appointment with her this Friday to discuss what’s next for us.

Dr. Mansfield is so wonderful. She is always happy to see you and makes you feel welcome. Her positive but realistic attitude helped to normalize this whole infertility situation for me... IVF antagonist protocol - Gonal-f 300 and menopur 150, cetrotide and HCG trigger. She chose HCG trigger instead of lupron as I was not responding as well as she hoped I think on US and labs. She wanted to give them a chance to mature. I did not respond as well as expected given my baseline labs and age. Only 7 eggs retrieved, 2 mature, neither fertilized with ICSI.
[Arizona Reproductive Institute has] -Easy to schedule appts, I had to wait a few weeks to get in to see her initially but after that my work up was very quick. -Friendly staff - everyone from the front reception to the financial counselor was fantastic. So supportive and welcoming. -Good online portal... I got to interact with all of the IVF nurses. They were all really nice and got back to me same day with questions. Most of the IVF nurses here have gone through treatment themselves, so you feel that they can relate to you

Dr. Mansfield was always so kind and happy to see me. I felt that she genuinely cared about what my husband and I were going through. She explained every test and procedure so we would understand, and never rushed through anything. She was so compassionate on retrieval day. She could tell I was nervous and held my hand through the IV start and getting put to sleep. She made me feel so at ease. She is an angel!

I can't sing her [Dr. Christine Mansfield] praises enough! She is just a wonderful person, she loves what she does, cares about you as the patient, about your partner too. She takes her time with answering questions, doesn't rush you. Truly listens to you. We wanted to try ovulation induction (timed intercourse and IUIs) before going to IVF and she gave us statistics and that's what we did. We ultimately did IVF with PGS testing. She was SO happy when there was good news, every early OB visit she was just so excited to see our little embaby on ultrasound.
The MAs and RNs [at ARI] were all very nice, caring and responsive to questions via phone and the portal. They also would sympathize with you if you received bad news or celebrate with you when there was good news. I remember getting hugs and high fives when my PGS results showed 6 normal embryos. And hugs when I cried with bad news. I truly miss the care I received while at ARI. They spoiled me, now with regular OB things are way different.

I wish I had called sooner. I wasted 6 cycles with an OB and I wasn't ovulating. He didnt check for follicles or do anything like HSG to check tubes or more than rx pills and order labs. And his bedside manner sucked.
During treatment, were you treated like a number or a human with Christine Mansfield at Arizona Reproductive Institute (closed)?
I was greeted warmly by name, staff would ask how I was doing and actually care. Dr. Mansfield is very sweet, warm and caring. She celebrates good news with you and sympathizes with you if bad news. I felt like a VIP, like my time was important, like my questions weren't stupid, like I could trust her and her staff completely.

Beautiful facility, clean, organized and efficient. Rarely long wait times, if delayed, you're told how long the wait will be and they apologize. Office manager is helpful and available for billing questions. Information is verbally given as well as printed or sent to portal.

Describe the costs associated with your care under Christine Mansfield at Arizona Reproductive Institute (closed).

Due to my age 36, and weight, she recommended 1 embryo at a time. Also since they were PGS tested. But it was ultimately up to me.

If I have concerns or questions Dr. Mansfield has gone out of her way to call me and discuss the process. I’ve gone through multiple iuis, a miscarriage at 11 weeks and a failed ivf cycle. Dr. Mansfield has never given up and has tweaked my protocols each time in hopes of getting a better response.
Clinic [Arizona Reproductive Institute] is prompt and helpful. I feel like everyone in the clinic knows who I am and is rooting for me when I have a good cycle and is sad and empathetic when my cycles were a bust. Dr. Mansfield and Frances (medical asssitant) are phenomenal and a godsend during my miscarriage. Weaknesses- sometimes a bit of a wait and can frequently run late on appointments.... IUIs- 900 IVF- 7k the first round, subsequent rounds 20%discount PGS- 3500 for 4 embryos, 5k for 8 FET- 2500 Meds for IVF- 4-5k (clinic would try and donate meds on occasion)

She [Dr. Christine Mansfield] has a really friendly demeanor and she sincerely seems pleased to see me every time I enter the office...great energy about her...She does her best to do every procedure in the IUI process-- even the ultrasounds. It's rare when she isn't able to be there, and I appreciate the level of care I feel she provides...She makes me feel positive even when I am not a generally positive person. She makes me feel like there is hope for me in my situation.
I think all the nurses [at Arizona Reproductive Institute] are very sweet and they are very upbeat and looking out for you. They all seem very knowledgeable, and if they have problems, they can rely on each other and Dr. Mansfield for help...Each IUI cycle is $1050 plus the costs of medications, which vary. HSG was $400ish...The clinic is very nice and welcoming. They have free coffee and candy as well as free wifi. The waiting room is very large and neat. The parking lot is really only compact car friendly, so people who drive large vehicles be aware you might have difficulty fitting into a slot.

We did 5 days of 100mg Clomid, follicle checks, followed by a trigger shot at the right time, then IUIs. We are on our second one, first was a failure. Results for the second one are still undetermined. Both cycles were the same treatment.

Dr Mansfield has been great through this experience. I am someone who always wants to know the full details of the situation and she has never held back in involving me in the process. She would trust my intuition and never push procedures that I felt uncomfortable with.... The biggest change from the doctor was a previous was during our IVF we added in testosterone priming because of my eye quality and it drastically improved our results.
The only thing I would tell a new patient is to start at this clinic [Arizona Reproductive Institute]. There are only two other options in Tucson and I’ve been to one of them and it was a horrible experience. Coming to Dr. Mansfield was life-changing even though we still haven’t had any kids throughout this treatment, I would sing her praises from the rooftop any chance I got... I cannot say enough positive things about the nursing staff.

Dr Mansfield has been great through this experience. I am someone who always wants to know the full details of the situation and she has never held back in involving me in the process. She would trust my intuition and never push procedures that I felt uncomfortable with. She would have consultations with me just to talk about where we were at in the process and go through details. Additionally when I had a spontaneous pregnancy that happened outside of treatment, she was incredibly attentive and treated it as if we had gotten pregnant with her. That pregnancy did result in a miscarriage and I’m glad she was our doctor at the time because she handled it so well and was so kind.
What's one piece of advice would you give a prospective patient of Christine Mansfield at Arizona Reproductive Institute (closed)?
Trust your instincts and ask her questions because she will be very forthcoming and give you all the information but she will not push you into something you don’t want.
During treatment, were you treated like a number or a human with Christine Mansfield at Arizona Reproductive Institute (closed)?
Dr Mansfield and her staff are amazing. They know me and details about me and check in regularly.

Describe the costs associated with your care under Christine Mansfield at Arizona Reproductive Institute (closed).
I was lucky enough to have insurance that covered fertility treatment. Once that ran out the cost associated for a full IVF cycle with no insurance was around 10,000 I believe.
Describe Christine Mansfield's approach to eSET (elective single embryo transfer) vs. multiple embryo transfer at Arizona Reproductive Institute (closed).
We put in two embryos at a time each transfer and she was very forthcoming about the risks of multiples.

I felt like talking with Dr. Mansfield was like talking with a friend. She provided me with comfort and information that I needed to know. When bad news came, she started our appointments with a hug and genuine caring. She educated us on options and the likely course of treatments. Her expectations were conveyed clearly without being overly optimistic which we appreciated.... Microdose lupron flare. Two egg retrievals, 14 mature eggs cycle one, 12 fertlized, 6 blasts, PGS tested all abnormal. Second cycle, 10 eggs, 9 mature, 4 blasts, PGS tested all abnormal.
The nurses are great, but the office [Arizona Reproductive Institute] is not run very well all the time. Often there is some miscommunication, disorganization. You often need to remind them of things and stay on top of your own care.... Disorganized, financial aspects are very disorganized, and they dont always give accurate and consistent information. I had to remind the staff that I was going to be doing a specific protocol or adding a new med. I had to call and ask for labs to be drawn.

[Dr. Mansfield] was familiar with PGD and understood that I was coming to her not just for infertility but to remove the risk of passing a gene to my child. She was thorough in explaining the process and was warm, confident and professional...she listened to how I wanted my cycle to go and also made sure to be as candid and cautious as possible. After the loss of my first perfect PGS embryo, Dr Mansfield was quick to connect with me and do everything in her power to explain to me that it was not my fault and then the next best options, always leaving decisions up to me and never pressuring me
The nursing staff [at Arizona Reproductive Institute] gets to know you on a personal level...cost approximately $15k for the retrieval, this included both PGS sand PGD (rough estimate $8k IVF, $7k PGS/PGD. The FET cost just under $3k...[monitoring appointments are] quick in and out, like a well oiled machine. I only did my retrieval monitoring appointments at the clinic...the staff rotates throughout the week and I wasn’t always sure who would be supporting me when I went in for visits
How was your experience with Christine Mansfield at Arizona Reproductive Institute (closed)?
I traveled to Tucson to meet with Dr Mansfield at the recommendation of my OBGYN. She was familiar with PGD and understood that I was coming to her not just for infertility but to remove the risk of passing a gene to my child. She was thorough in explaining the process and was warm, confident and professional. I did a phone consultation initially but wanted to meet with her personally before making my choice. She and her staff made time on a Saturday for me to travel to their office so that I could meet her and make my decision to ultimately choose to move forward. Throughout my cycle, I felt as if she listened to how I wanted my cycle to go and also made sure to be as candid and cautious as possible. After the loss of my first perfect PGS embryo, Dr Mansfield was quick to connect with me and do everything in her power to explain to me that it was not my fault and then the next best options, always leaving decisions up to me and never pressuring me. I feel comfortable and confident with Dr Mansfield as my physician, you can see how much she truly loves her job and is dedicated to her patients.
What's one piece of advice would you give a prospective patient of Christine Mansfield at Arizona Reproductive Institute (closed)?
Don’t be afraid to ask questions.
During treatment, were you treated like a number or a human with Christine Mansfield at Arizona Reproductive Institute (closed)?
The nursing staff gets to know you on a personal level. Infertility patients tend to what to know more about their treatment than the average person and they were always happy to take the time to explain everything in detail. I would also receive calls specifically from Dr Mansfield during difficult times, not a nurse relaying what she said.
Describe the protocols Christine Mansfield used in your cycles at Arizona Reproductive Institute (closed) and their degree of success.
I used Gonal-F, Menopur and Cetrotide for STIMS. Dr Mansfield started me on a relatively low dose, as I have PCOS, and within 2 days my estrogen has shot up to 1400. I live in another city and Dr Mansfield had me travel immediately to be monitored by her daily. We were able to save the retrieval and I had over 30 mature eggs fertilized, with 11 making it to day 5. Out of the 11, I had 5 healthy girls (that is with PGS and PGD). Dr Mansfield was very conservative in my treatment, we only used one Gonal-F 900 pen throughout my entire cycle, but because of the severity in my PCOS, resulted in a very large number of follicles. I had told her I was doing this once and would rather it go this way than not have enough and go through another cycle, I know she used her professionally judgement but it all went exactly a size I had hoped. I did have severe OHSS which we expected and after a few days, improved dramatically. I have since transferred two embryos, one of which did not make it after 5.1w and one sweet girl who just turned One last week.
Describe your experience with your nurse at Arizona Reproductive Institute (closed). (Assigned nurse: Jennifer, Leah, and Frances)
The nursing staff is an exceptional part of the treatment received by Dr Mansfield, they support you throughout the cycles entirety. I could not have been more blessed with a compassionate, confident, smart group. They not only feel like your support system but friend. The only “weakness” and it really isn’t a weakness is that sometimes I missed some of the nurses when I went on their off day! Their enthusiasm and attitude was infectious and made me feel good about whatever it is I was doing that day.
Describe your experience with Arizona Reproductive Institute (closed).
The staff is a major strength for the clinic. Their positive attitude, experience and knowledge are impressive and reassuring. The only weakness is that the staff rotates throughout the week and I wasn’t always sure who would be supporting me when I went in for visits.
Describe your experience with your monitoring appointments at Arizona Reproductive Institute (closed).
It was quick in and out, like a well oiled machine. I only did my retrieval monitoring appointments at the clinic.
Describe the costs associated with your care under Christine Mansfield at Arizona Reproductive Institute (closed).
It cost approximately $15k for the retrieval, this included both PGS sand PGD (rough estimate $8k IVF, $7k PGS/PGD. The FET cost just under $3k.
Describe Christine Mansfield's approach to eSET (elective single embryo transfer) vs. multiple embryo transfer at Arizona Reproductive Institute (closed).
We had PGS tested embryos and based on the fact that, plus my age at the time (28/29), and the fact that my main problem was that I didn’t ovulate, Dr Mansfield felt eSET was the best approach. She felt it was safest both for me and any resulting pregnancy I had from the transfer.

Dr Mansfield is incredibly warm and welcoming. I believe she is very knowledgeable and uses research to guide her practice, rather than old or unproven theories. I feel confident in her treatment recommendations. As many of us are when facing problems with reproduction and infertility, I felt I was relatively well educated and well read when I first met Dr Mansfield. She showed me kindness and patience while I asked her numerous questions related to various things I had come across. She never made me feel silly for asking her about something (hello, pineapple core!).
The clinic is beautiful, inviting, modern, and spacious. They are able to do HSG, SIS, and HSC procedures, along with egg retrievals and D&Cs in the office (they have an OR). Also, they run some of the lab work in house, so you can get results within a few hours. I was typically greeted by name and always with a smile. Many times, I barely sat down before they called me back. On the occasions when there was a wait, it was short. The lobby has bottled water and a coffee/tea maker you can help yourself to, along with a nice restroom and pretty views out the windows.

She never made me feel silly for asking her about something (hello, pineapple core!). She refers to research when appropriate, tells you when she doesn't think something is useful but also doesn't find it harmful to try, and encourages you to not do things that she believes will be detrimental to your journey. When I specifically questioned Dr Mansfield about a line of treatment I felt sure I needed, she held true to her belief that our primary issue was one of egg quality. She didn't discount my feelings, but after more than a year of being under her care, it turns out she was absolutely correct about egg quality (and chromosomal errors) being a primary problem for us.
What's one piece of advice would you give a prospective patient of Christine Mansfield at Arizona Reproductive Institute (closed)?
Go see her! It will be worth it!
During treatment, were you treated like a number or a human with Christine Mansfield at Arizona Reproductive Institute (closed)?
Dr Mansfield is very compassionate and reassuring, while being completely honest in explaining what she believes our issues are and the hurdles we may be facing. She is straightforward and open to questions. She does an excellent job of remembering one's history. She never made me feel like she had somewhere else to be and was very patient with me when I hammered her on what I believed were immunologic components of our recurrent pregnancy loss.
Describe the protocols Christine Mansfield used in your cycles at Arizona Reproductive Institute (closed) and their degree of success.
Clomid 100 mg/Timed Intercourse (2 follicles, no pregnancy) Clomid 100 mg/IUI (4 follicles, no pregnancy) Clomid 100 mg/IUI (2 follicles, no pregnancy) Decision made to move to IVF to allow PGS testing: IVF #1- Antagonist (225-300 FSH daily), Lupron trigger (high risk for OHSS) We got 18 eggs, but only 6 were mature. Three embryos cleaved and all 3 made it to blastocyst and were biopsied for PGS testing. All 3 were abnormal. IVF #2- Lupron Down Reg (450 FSH daily)- protocol was changed due to abnormally high number of immature eggs on Antagonist cycle. We got 31 eggs, 19 mature, 18 embryos, 13 blastocysts. Nine of them were biopsied for PGS and 5 of them came back normal! All embryos are frozen, and we have not attempted a transfer yet.

Dr Mansfield's costs for care were on the lower end of the ranges I found for my area and significantly less than many clinics (such as those in Colorado, California, and on the East Coast).

She [Dr. Christine Mansfield] is an excellent communicator and is always friendly and answers every question with detail. My husband and I have been through three stimulation cycles with timed intercourse, one fresh cycle IVF, and have begun a frozen cycle IVF that is not yet completed...Anytime we encountered a road block in our treatments, she took the time to sit down with us and re-group and change course if needed...You can tell the first time you speak with Dr Mansfield that she is knowledgeable in her field and loves what she does. She is an excellent communicator and is always friendly and answers every question with detail.
Its hard to describe any weaknesses that this clinic [Arizona Reproductive Institute] has. They are good at everything. They offer all of their testing, blood work, ultrasounds, and procedures in their office. I even had my egg retrieval and transfer in office. The staff is so kind and caring and work together so well...I have never felt like just a number in their office. The receptionists, nurses and doctor all know me by name and take the necessary time to explain procedures and answer questions. They make you feel comfortable and celebrate good news with you, but also feel your pain when you get bad news.

You can tell the first time you speak with Dr Mansfield that she is knowledgeable in her field and loves what she does. She is an excellent communicator and is always friendly and answers every question with detail. My husband and I have been through three stimulation cycles with timed intercourse, one fresh cycle IVF, and have begun a frozen cycle IVF that is not yet completed. I can't imagine going through this process with another doctor. Anytime we encountered a road block in our treatments, she took the time to sit down with us and re-group and change course if needed. She gives us hope but also lets us know the chances and what could go wrong. My husband and I feel very comfortable with Dr Mansfield and her staff.
What's one piece of advice would you give a prospective patient of Christine Mansfield at Arizona Reproductive Institute (closed)?
Don't hesitate to make an appointment to sit down and talk with her. She will likely order a few basic tests to give her a rundown of your reproductive health. You will get a better idea of what treatments you may need and you will have more peace of mind. Wondering about your infertility can give you so much stress, so it's better to find out why. Dr Mansfield will give you hope and cheer you on in your journey.
During treatment, were you treated like a number or a human with Christine Mansfield at Arizona Reproductive Institute (closed)?
Dr. Mansfield and her staff have a very patient-centered approach. I have never felt like just a number in their office. The receptionists, nurses and doctor all know me by name and take the necessary time to explain procedures and answer questions. They make you feel comfortable and celebrate good news with you, but also feel your pain when you get bad news.
Describe your experience with your nurse at Arizona Reproductive Institute (closed). (Assigned nurse: Leah Offerdahl)
Leah was the nurse we dealt with most often and she is amazing. She seems to know as much about infertility and treatments as much as Dr. Manfield does. She can answer most all of our questions and was very knowledgeable about our medication and costs as well.
Describe your experience with Arizona Reproductive Institute (closed).
Its hard to describe any weaknesses that this clinic has. They are good at everything. They offer all of their testing, blood work, ultrasounds, and procedures in their office. I even had my egg retrieval and transfer in office. The staff is so kind and caring and work together so well.
Describe your experience with your monitoring appointments at Arizona Reproductive Institute (closed).
Monitoring appointments for me usually begin by being brought back for blood work. While I am getting blood drawn, they usually are preparing the ultrasound room. They work as a well oiled machine and I am never in the office for more than 30 min.
Describe the costs associated with your care under Christine Mansfield at Arizona Reproductive Institute (closed).
The cost of our care was not covered by our insurance so we had to pay out of pocket for most medications and treatments.
Describe Christine Mansfield's approach to eSET (elective single embryo transfer) vs. multiple embryo transfer at Arizona Reproductive Institute (closed).
Dr Mansfield recommended transferring 2 embryos for us. She left it up to us to decide if we wanted to do 1 or 2. I don't think she would transfer more than two. My husband is 42 and I am 34, so we elected to do 2 embryos to up our chances of pregnancy.

She [Dr. Christine Mansfield] is the most caring and sincere doctor i have ever encountered. While our outcome of miscarriage was not what we were expecting, she showed us deep sympathy during this time...Dr. Mansfield truly loves what she does and doesn't give up. We have had a couple unexpected issues pop up along the way and she handles it with ease. She comes up with a new game plan and we continue on our way... IVF cycle 2- DHEA and CoQ10 for three months, started with testosterone priming for three weeks, then did a mini-lupron flare cycle with HGH. I had a much better response and had 7, 5 day old embryos frozen.
Jen, Leah and Francis [nurses at Arizona Reproductive Institute] have all gone above and beyond helping us with anything we needed. They show compassion in ways i didn't even think was possible. They share in your victories and were crushed with our miscarriage. They truly care about their patients...Very quick response time for appointments or questions. Try their best to work with your schedule. No weaknesses, we are very pleased with them and so glad we found them.

What's one piece of advice would you give a prospective patient of Christine Mansfield at Arizona Reproductive Institute (closed)?
Fertility treatment has so many ups and downs. Do not get discouraged if the first cycle doesn't work. Dr. Mansfield truly cares about each of her patients and will work hard to find solutions to anything that may pop up.

Describe the protocols Christine Mansfield used in your cycles at Arizona Reproductive Institute (closed) and their degree of success.
IVF cycle 1- Lupron, Follistim, Menopur- standard doses; poor responder and poor egg quality. Only had 1 , 5 day old embryo make it to freeze. IVF cycle 2- DHEA and CoQ10 for three months, started with testosterone priming for three weeks, then did a mini-lupron flare cycle with HGH. I had a much better response and had 7, 5 day old embryos frozen. FET-Progesterone injections and estrace pills until lining was adequate, transferred two embryos and received our very first positive pregnancy results. Unfortunately i miscarried at 6 weeks. We are waiting for the fetal tissue results to come back to determine our next step.

Dr. Mansfield took the time to explain in great length to my husband and I our options and her opinions on which treatments were best for us. She was able to answer all of our questions. And she told us when she thought we should try other avenues. She was always concerned for my emotional well being, which showed she actually cares for you as a person not just a patient...Ask lots of questions. Dr. Mansfield is very knowledgeable and she will help you understand the process and what exactly is taking place.
The staff here [at Arizona Reproductive Institute] is super friendly and you can tell they love what they do. My appointments during IVF were on time and very quick so I could get back to work. They have a phlebotomist on site who is super gentle and polite...My IVF cycles ranged from $4500 to $6000, not including medications. Some tests (HSG) that were preformed prior to the first IVF costs approximately $500-$600. Some further lab work not covered by insurance cost about $350...Jennifer took the time to show me everything I needed to know regarding giving myself injections. She also made sure I was emotionally prepared and that I had all the resources I needed when things weren't going as planned or as we had hoped. She worked with me when I was getting medications from several different pharmacies to save on my costs.

Dr. Mansfield always knew my name and my husband's name. She cared about how I was feeling and how things were going.

IVF 1- Antagonist Protocol, we kept having to increase my doses to the maximum amount in order to get the follicles growing. 4 eggs were retrieved, 3 were mature, 2 fertilized, and 2 transferred on Day 3. No pregnancy. IVF 2- Microdose Flare Protocol, still maximum dosage of drugs to get follicles growing. Only 2 eggs retrieved, 1 fertilized, and 1 transferred on Day 3. Positive pregnancy, however ended with miscarriage. IVF 3- Microdose Flare Protocol with Testosterone injections prior. This saw the best and most follicles growing out of all my cycles and I had the best estrogen numbers. But only 2 eggs retrieved, both were mature and fertilized via ICSI, only 1 divided properly for Day 3 transfer. No pregnancy.

Since I might ovulate over the weekend, she [Dr. Mansfield] has someone on call once I got a positive ovulation test kit. Once I got a positive I called "on call" number and a NP was able to schedule my IUI for a Monday...Dr. Mansfield is very professional and knowledgeable. She was also open to any questions. She was very good at giving us many options and directions I which to go. We visited Dr. Mansfield for a second opinion and immediately felt at ease and we noticed the difference from previous doctor. Although, we were diagnosed unexplained, she was very good at giving us many options to try first before IVF. Finally, she is extremely friendly and very outgoing. Going through a difficult situation like infertility, posivite energy is needed. She has it.
[Nursing staff at Arizona Reproductive Institute are] Always friendly and very kind...I liked that in every visit the wait time was no longer than 10 minutes. The amenities are great (e.g. Water, coffee etc). Staff is friendly and well organized. The clinic also has great lab equipments and personal... They also get your blood tests done on site, they don't have to send it out to las and wait for results. A weakness would be, perhaps not having another doctor on site in case Dr. Mansfield gets called to an emergency. On one of the check ups an NP had to check my ovulation process and it was not the same as getting the care from her.

Once we decided to do IUI we paid in advanced. Before the IUI I took clomid (I believe) starting second day of menstrual cycle. I also ordered a trigger shot in case I needed it before ovulation. After the 8th day they monitored by ovulation. Since I might ovulate over the weekend, she has someone on call once I got a positive ovulation test kit. Once I got a positive I called "on call" number and a NP was able to schedule my IUI for a Monday. After IUI they scheduled a free pregnancy test. The trigger shot was never used because she monitored hormone level through blood work.

I have stage four endo. She first did a laparoscopy and removed my left tube. We both knew I would need ivf. We approached stiming in a aggressive manner because my endo was so bad and my egg reserve was dimished because of it. I don't recall the medications. It was a lot of pokes but all very worth it.
Describe your experience with your nurse at Arizona Reproductive Institute (closed). (Assigned nurse: Frances and Brooke )
Frances was so amazing. Very kind and did a good job at her profession. Brooke was ok. Not very personable. After my first failed cycle I felt that Brooke stopped caring. For example I wanted to see dr Mansfield for a follow up appointment and was scheduled like two weeks from the fail which made me sad considering I had been seeing her everyday. The new nurse Jennifer I believe her name was, was very kind. She made me feel at ease during my second transfer.

...None of this had been diagnosed with the previous Doctor. Due to these results they were able to dictate my plan of care much more accurately. I was placed on a much higher dose of medication for my IVF cycle then I was for my first and I had a much better outcome. I am currently pregnant and I owe it all to Dr. Mansfield, and her team!
The clinic [Arizona Reproductive Institute] is very welcoming! It has a clean and relaxing feel to it. Prior to seeing Dr. Mansfield I had 2 failed IUI's and 1 failed IVF with another doctor. After seeing Doctor Mansfield and hearing all of her recommendations for testing prior to treatment, everything seemed to come together. My thyroid levels were off, my egg reserve was low and I was a carrier for a genetic condition that could both cause my diminished ovarian reserve and affect my children. None of this had been diagnosed with the previous Doctor. Due to these results they were able to dictate my plan of care much more accurately. Dr. Mansfield has listened to me. She [Dr. Christine Mansfield] was very warm and caring. When it showed up my tubal blockage in both tubes, she was extremely supportive and explained what it meant and made sure I was okay with the news. She then took myself and my husband into her office where she spoke about options, due to the scarring, tubal surgery wasn't an option for us, so she explained about IVF and how pregnancy was still possible for us. Suffering with secondary infertility for 5 years, it was bitter sweet to be able to get an answer.
Absolutely no weaknesses. This clinic [Arizona Reproductive Institute] was amazing and if I had to choose all over again, I'd still choose Dr Mansfield and her team. The clinic is warm, friendly, clean and very professional. They aleays run by ypur insurance to see whats covered and let you know before agreement of any treatment. Arizona reproductive institute is definitely our recommendation for anyone with any fertility needs.

Absolutely no weaknesses. This clinic was amazing and if I had to choose all over again, I'd still choose Dr Mansfield and her team. The clinic is warm, friendly, clean and very professional. They aleays run by ypur insurance to see whats covered and let you know before agreement of any treatment. Most of diagnostic testing was covered by my insurance. Any that I had to pay out of pocket wasn't that much

I did 2 IVF cycles, both with antagonist protocols. I only got 3 embryos out of my first cycle so she [Dr. Christine Mansfield] upped my doses quite a bit for the second cycle and I tripled the number of embryos. I have endo and an elevated FSH so she felt this was the best approach for me... Dr. Mansfield never made me feel rushed and always ensured each of my questions were answered. She was thorough, incredibly knowledgable on all the latest and greatest techniques, and I fully trusted her throughout the entire process.
The clinic [Arizona Reproductive Institute- Tucson] is great. Dr. Liu (the embryologist) is one of the best and I always felt like I was in excellent I hands. The front desk staff were always on top of my appointments and I never even had to give my name when I checked in. They knew who I was the moment I walked through the door... Everyone at ARI is fully committed to you and your success. They laugh with you, cry with you, and genuinely care about your journey. Dr. Mansfield and her staff have become family to my husband and I.

Dr. Mansfield is very knowledgeable. She explains things very well and breaks it down to make sure you understand everything. She is positive and hopeful but does not sugar coat things. She is very genuine and you can tell she is vested in you as a patient.... I saw Dr. Mansfield at every single visit. She was always so warm and kind and so his entire staff.... antagonist protocol. 150 of Gonal F and Menopur. Cetrotide and triggered with hcg.
It’s clean. The environment [Arizona Reproductive Institute] is warm and inviting. It doesn’t feel like a clinical setting. The clinic is great with communication. Whenever I called someone always answered the phone. The staff is helpful and friendly.... Leah and Dyan are amazing! They are so kind and compassionate. Communication is excellent. They had no issues communicating outside of normal business hours. They were very helpful with sorting out issues with pharmacies and outside labs. I definitely felt they were vested in my cycle.

I believe it was the antagonist protocol. 150 of Gonal F and Menopur. Cetrotide and triggered with hcg. 12 eggs retrieved, 9 mature, 7 fertilized, 5 made it to blasts. FET per my choice. Transferred 2 embryos and currently 6.1wks pregnant.

Dr. Mansfield went over all the pros/cons and risks of transferring two embryos. Ultimately she was on born with transferring two which is what we really wanted.

Dr. Mansfield was generally friendly and seemed competent. I did however feel a little blindsided...I also got bad news during the test (tubal blockage), and really wanted her to stay and explain what that meant. To me, it felt like she rushed out without realizing how upsetting and confusing the news was to me...it seems like the her recommendation (removing one or possible 2 tubes) was more aggressive than necessary...There were a couple of miscommunications
Everyone was kind and remembered who I was....One thing that was a little bit concerning was a lack of coordination between different parts of the organization [Vivere Arizona] My husband had to give blood twice for the same test, which was never run. It was also a little hard to reach someone when I called with a question. That said, during my visits, people were professional and warm....There were a couple of miscommunications, and one bad experience that lead me to get a second opinion and ultimately switch doctors.

Dr. Mansfield was generally friendly and seemed competent. I did however feel a little blindsided by one of my tests (the HCG). I didn't know that it was going to be so painful, and afterwards, I didn't know that it was not a cause for concern that I was bleeding. I also got bad news during the test (tubal blockage), and really wanted her to stay and explain what that meant. To me, it felt like she rushed out without realizing how upsetting and confusing the news was to me. I also got a second opinion that was a very different diagnosis and prescribed treatment. Given that I have since gotten pregnant with minimal intervention, it seems like the her recommendation (removing one or possible 2 tubes) was more aggressive than necessary.

To not be afraid to ask questions and call them later with questions. Don't worry about being annoying. They are supper supportive and understand that this is a crazy process that brings up lots of questions along the way.

Describe the protocols Christine Mansfield used in your cycles at Arizona Reproductive Institute (closed) and their degree of success.
My first cycle was a surprising fail. I didn't respond well to the drugs despite being 26, supper health, and normal test results. My first cycle, I had no embryos make it to transfer. After my meeting she said we are not going to be conservative and we are going to throw everything she has at me to achieve my goal. I primed with testosterone for 4 weeks then did a flair cycle with HGH. It resulted is 12 eggs and 4 5 day embryos. We transferred 2 and got pregnant with one! Sadly I miscarries at 9 weeks. We tested the fetal tissue and found out it was a chromosome problem. I am getting ready to start another stem cycle with the same plan. This time though we will be testing all the embryos for chromosome abnormalities and doing a frozen transfer.

It was recommended to use that we do 2 embryos due to lower quality and size; 2 BB and 3 BB

She [Dr. Christine Mansfield] is a very thorough and truly has the patient and their situation in mind. She also tries to be very available for her patients. Occasionally, she is not able to spend a great amount of time during routine scans and will sometimes have to keep the visit short...Make sure you have all your questions prior to your appointment written down. She will take the time to discuss each one...They are also very flexible with your schedule and many times will work around your schedule for appointments

Her approach is definitely individually based. However, if the environment, grading, and quality are good she would recommend single due to risks associated with multiple gestation pregnancies
