Dr. Kenigsberg is good he’s very knowledgeable about the procedures. It’s my first time so I don’t/didn’t know what to expect. He performed all of my procedures except my IUI but they were on days that he’s not in...Being that they do pgt on your embryos they only do a single embryo transfer...Ask a lot of questions he has the answers...Ask all the questions. They will go through things but not in great detail.
Ask all the questions. They [RMA Long Island IVF] will go through things but not in great detail. I was clueless a lot of the times as to what was going to happen and what to expect. I didn’t know what each medication did only until I did my own research...Sharon is the PA at RMA Stony Brook she’s the BEST! Makes you feel extremely comfortable. Mara at the front desk is so sweet. Nicole the medical assistant is the best at pain free blood draws she so gentle.

Describe the protocols Daniel Kenigsberg used in your cycles at RMA of New York - Long Island IVF and their degree of success.
I don’t know the medical names of the procedures but My first cycle was IVF with Foll, Gan and Men. My body broke through the medication and the retrieval was cancelled. The second I took Lupron through out the entire cycle then added foll and ended with foll and men. I had 7 follicles retrieved 3 egg none made it to blastocyst. Then I decided to try IUI and did clomid 50 for 5 days, I got one mature follicle got a negative pregnancy test. Then I did clomid 100 for 5 days and got 2 matured follicles got a positive pregnancy test, great beta hcg and progesterone levels then at 6 weeks my baby stopped developing. Currently waiting to start another cycle.

He [Dr. Kenigsberg] is genuine and supportive of the LGBTQ+ community's needs. He is sensitive to culture and fears/doubts we expressed. He is thorough and professional throughout...efficiency in being able to diagnose my needs almost immediately. He was willing to explore alternative treatment options to guarantee a better success and outcome...willing to review my case after 3 failed IUI at another provider. Upon the first examination, Dr. Kenigsberg attributed the previous issues with uterine fibroids and suggested surgery to increase the chances of pregnancy. He was very efficient and thorough throughout the whole process...
The clinic [RMA Long Island IVF] has a lot of great strengths regarding LGBTQ+ care. It is really refreshing and accommodating to be recognized as a family/individual in this way. The staff and the treatment team are encouraging, supportive and empathetic to the circumstances of the families and individuals that need their support. Any time I have been in the clinic, there is little to no wait time, immediate attentiveness and efficiency in the care team's approach to supporting my needs...An IUI cost generally is $1100+, not including donor sperm and medications...

I think he [Dr. Kenigsberg] really cares about his patients. I’m in constant communication with him via email and he always always answers my questions. He tells me what he thinks is beneficial for me and my husband. I haven’t gotten pregnant yet but I have faith in my dr...we started off with blood tests for our hormones sono, genetic testing, we decided to do three months of clomid and trying naturally. Then we did clomid and IUI. Now we are on round two of IUI with letrozole. If this fails one more IUI then IVF. We have unexplained infertility fertility
There was a lot of miscommunication between the nurses and the dr [at Long Island IVF] of what was happening for me one month. But i think it was more of the nurse assuming and not checking with him...The cost was average for our state. The billing department is not organized and difficult to deal with...I feel like some of the front desk staff weren’t helpful when we were having an issue with the genetic testing. I had to get my husband to call and all of a sudden it went from “im sorry we can’t help you with this” to “ok ok let me look into this for you.” When he called. Which is super frustrating that woman are treating other woman like that.

He’s [Dr. Kenigsberg] older and very known in the field. He’s confident in his recommendations and very knowledgeable throughout every step of the process. He’s very open to a lot of questions and is always able to get in touch with. He’s willing to cater to your needs as a patient and is always a phone call or email away. He made me feel very comfortable and relaxed through all the stressful parts of the IVF conversations.
I have been to 3 offices within the practice [Long Island IVF] and all are on the same level of cleanliness. Warm and clean environment. There is a coffee machine and tv and magazines to browse. There’s also an area with pamphlets and good information... The staff is wonderful. They are all kind and compassionate and helpful with every question.... He’s [Dr. Kenigsberg] very down to earth and personable. He uses conversational language.

He was my second RE and we started with an HSG test to make sure all was clear. From there he prescribed every other day intercourse during my fertile window and felt confident in the rate of increased fertility after the HSG test. From there we proceeded to do an additional set of IUI’s with clomid only because I needed to switch health insurance to get IVF coverage and it was 6 months away. He did recommend IVF after the 3 months following the HSG.

We haven’t got to the point of transfer yet but he recommended one embryo as a standard but would work with us if we wanted to do two. Again, this was a discussion before the retrieval.

he [Dr. Daniel Keningsberg] was very matter-of-fact in explaining my failed results and lacked empathy in his recommendation on how we should proceed...does not come across as warm and compassionate at the initial consultation. If this is your only interaction with him, you will miss out on his openness and availability...was open to address our specific concerns and make accommodations. He made himself available to answer our questions when requested and made it clear he would always get back to us if we had any more questions or concerns
I was assigned a nurse [at Long Island IVF], but I never met her. I only had a couple calls with her in the beginning to get all the paperwork and my schedule set. The nurses I met and interacted with at the Stonybrook and Patchogue locations were all friendly. Diane and Jessica were standouts, both very nice and compassionate. Sharon the PA was amazing! She was very helpful, compassionate and explained everything completely.

Strengths: Most of the offices are small because they have 6 locations. I believe this minimizes the patient numbers per office. Never had a long wait time for appointments or monitoring. The staff was always friendly and helpful. Weaknesses: Didn't see my doctor after initial consultation.

A couple of blips in the process- They did't call me after the 1st day of monitoring to let me know if I start Meds. I called them before the office closed and they got me the answer. The nurse said she must have called and left a voicemail at the wrong number. The ultrasound tech didn't show one day for monitoring. I had to go to a different office location (luckily the other office was only ~15 minutes away.)

My consults [with Dr. Daniel Kenigsberg] were personalized for me. On an individual level. Very informative...from the very first consult was specific with his plan of care. Extremely intelligent and knowledgable with my diagnosis (PCOS). As well as explained in complete detail of my plan of care...He is extremely intelligent with a direct yet warm presence...After each attempt a sonogram and lab work was completed. Rationale for this is to see if there are positive results of pregnancy
In my case. I felt counseling and extra support was needed. Once determined that I couldn't afford IVF [at Long Island IVF]...Everyone at the facility was warm, caring, gentle and understanding...The nursing staff were excellent!!!! Then continued to educate, support and give me hope. Their dispositions were all very caring as well as informative...Approx $4000 out of pocket for just lab work, medications and Hysterosalpingogram test...

Clomid (oral medications) was used by my GYN. On my very first visit. Dr. K reviewed my chart/ medical history. He prescribed Letrozole (Oral medication) X 2 separate visits with metformin. Explaining it helps to reduce blood sugar levels in woman with PCOS . After each attempt a sonogram and lab work was completed. Rationale for this is to see if there are positive results of pregnancy, hormone levels ect. Unfortunately for me my estrogen level was decreasing. So Dr. K Tested for mucus levels (important for ovulation). As well as and HSG test was preformed (procedure were dye is injected into the Fallopian tubes to determine any blockages). Early testing was completed and it was throughly explained that my diagnosis was determined as Anovulation. Dr. K in detail explained. I would then need injectable hormones to ovulate following egg freezing in order for hormones levels to reduce. The final step would be IVF. A re-insertion of the embryo in the uterus. Unfortunately for me it was unaffordable.

Very large office [Long Island IVF Stonybrook]. After initial consultation you speak with a nurse who coordinates care. Never th doctor. You go for morning monitoring & a random nurse calls with your instructions...Friendly knowledgeable staff. You will get to know your designated nurse better than the actual doctor...Very large facility, convenient locations....Sharon Hoey was the best. Walked me through all steps. Was available for questions. Extremely caring and knowledgeable.

Describe your experience with RMA of New York - Long Island IVF.
Friendly knowledgeable staff. You will get to know your designated nurse better than the actual doctor. I do wish the doctor would be more involved. Very large facility, convenient locations. You need to be on top of your medications as nurses will not renew automatically

I loved Dr Kennigsberg. When I met him, I knew immediately that he was the one that would be able to get me pregnant. I had two prior not so great experiences with other doctors and was losing faith. All restored when meeting him...i was started out on birth control so they could "control" my ovulation. I don't recall the names of the 2 injectables that I used. I believe I injected for 10-14 days. There was an hcg shot and 2 progesterone injects. 12 hours after my hcg I had my eggs retrieved. I was getting bloodwork and ultrasounds during this process. I had a 5 day transfer and was using progesterone vaginal suppositories until my 9th week of pregnancy .
The office assigns you a consultant. Mine was an NP, whom I had access to whenever needed. When seeing Dr Kennigsberg, he was always friendly and kind. Dr. Kenigsberg is calm, honest, and patient. He was described to me as being more "conservative" than other doctors at the same clinic, however this was exactly what we needed during our time with him....Dr. Kenigsburg is patient and kind, but direct and honest. He was a good match for our needs...We were planning on using donor eggs. We did not ultimately end up going down this route, however all of the options and risk to benefit ratio were outlined to us clearly prior to starting treatment.
Quiet office [Long Island IV Stonybrook]. Good hours for those who need to work. Friendly staff...We were planning on using donor eggs. We did not ultimately end up going down this route, however all of the options and risk to benefit ratio were outlined to us clearly prior to starting treatment....[Nurses were] Kind and compassionate. Sometimes hard to get a hold of, but still able to obtain responses in a timely manner..

He [Dr. Kenigsberg] seemed knowledgeable and very nice the 2 times that I saw him...But never really saw Dr K. He would call the nurses to go over instructions and they in turn would call you.
The nurses [at Long Island IVF] were very good and treated you like a person and not just a number...Get to know your nurses ..they will be your link to your Dr.

He [Dr. Daniel Kenigsberg] may come across as very serious, but he is excellent...In my eyes, the best doctor ever because he helped me get my two beautiful children. I had them at 40 and 42 (my own eggs). They are now 6 and 8. They are healthy and they bring me so much joy...We discussed my options and what could work for me...
Thanks to [RMA Long Island IVF] Long Island IVF, I have 2 children. 1 boy born in 2012; 1 girl born in 2014. Both are healthy and doing well! I had medical coverage; however, I can see how the cost can be an issue for some families...[nurses are] Compassionate, supportive, knowledgeable... I highly recommend the Melville office...I had medical coverage. In total, for about 8 IUIs and 2 IVFs, I paid about $10k.

My treatments were in 2011 and 2013. My first child took on the 2nd IUI. For my 2nd child, I had back-to-back treatment for 8 months. Probably 6 IUIs, 1 transfer from frozen embryos, and 1 fresh transfer (this one worked).
