[IVF Florida] can schedule too many people for bloodwork and ultrasounds at once. Disorganized and does not necessarily do first come first serve. Therefore there can be long wait times during the week depending on the time you go. If you want to speak with a nurse expect a wait.
How was your experience with David Hoffman at IVF Florida (US Fertility Network clinic)?
Dr. Hoffman is accessible when you make an appointment. During consultations he is warm and hopeful. When there are challenges or setbacks in treatment he delivers the message blunt quick and in a manner as if he is ready to move on. You must advocate for yourself to have discussions on other options you may have. As such, you need to keep yourself self informed on the fertility process and options out there.
What's one piece of advice would you give a prospective patient of David Hoffman at IVF Florida (US Fertility Network clinic)?
Be sure to engage him with questions to ensure you are exploring all of your options.
During treatment, were you treated like a number or a human with David Hoffman at IVF Florida (US Fertility Network clinic)?
At our initial consultation I felt like I was treated like a human. However, once treatment began and there were updates and negative news to deliver he was blunt but short and I felt rushed to get off the phone. For example, he said “You are not responding to the medicine we will try again next time. Call the office with the start of your next cycle.” There was no conversation on the eggs what it means to not respond well, how will things be done differently on the next cycle (e.g. different protocol), what can the patient do differently (e.g. exercise or supplements), no discussion on next steps. There was no pause to see how the patient is reacting to the news.
Describe the protocols David Hoffman used in your cycles at IVF Florida (US Fertility Network clinic) and their degree of success.
Micro dose Lupron protocol for two egg retrievals for PCOS and diminished ovarian reserve.
Describe your experience with the nursing staff at IVF Florida (US Fertility Network clinic).
Very responsive to messages on the portal and when you have questions. Best way to communicate with the doctor if you want to understand anything in your treatment plan. Long wait times if you prefer to meet in person.
Describe your experience with IVF Florida (US Fertility Network clinic).
Overall it seems the clinic can schedule too many people for bloodwork and ultrasounds at once. Disorganized and does not necessarily do first come first serve. Therefore there can be long wait times during the week depending on the time you go. If you want to speak with a nurse expect a wait.
Describe your experience with your monitoring appointments at IVF Florida (US Fertility Network clinic).
Cattle call so you had to find the times that were less busy. Overall you don’t know how long you will be
Describe the costs associated with your care under David Hoffman at IVF Florida (US Fertility Network clinic).
33.6 for the retrievals and unlimited transfers (not including medication or PGS testing)
Describe David Hoffman's approach to eSET (elective single embryo transfer) vs. multiple embryo transfer at IVF Florida (US Fertility Network clinic).
Single embryo transfer. Okay with this approach
What specific things went wrong at IVF Florida (US Fertility Network clinic)?
  • Lost paperwork
  • Failed to order appropriate test
  • Lost or damaged samples
Describe the specific things that went wrong at IVF Florida (US Fertility Network clinic).
Doctor ordered bloodwork and after receiving results realized something was left off of the lab requisition so had to do it again. PGS testing biopsy was not properly twice so PGS testing was not successful

Dr. Hoffman never treated me like a number, but he is part of a very large practice. Therefore, my interaction with him was just at the beginning of the stim cycles. After that it was mainly through ultrasound technicians and nursers through their online portal...never ended up being the doctor that did my retrievals...always willing to discuss my protocols and set strategy for me for my future stim cycles and family planning.
The clinic's [IVF Florida] weaknesses are that as a very large clinic, patients can start to feel like a number, and their prices are more expensive than some other nearby clinics in the area...Dr. Hoffman never treated me like a number...Also, because of the size of the practice the doctors rotate egg retrievals so [he] never ended up being the doctor that did my retrievals.
How was your experience with David Hoffman at IVF Florida (US Fertility Network clinic)?
Dr. Hoffman follows the science and is both compassion and direct with what he thinks is necessary for your protocol. He takes into account your full situation and is very forthright and encouraging during the process.
What's one piece of advice would you give a prospective patient of David Hoffman at IVF Florida (US Fertility Network clinic)?
While he can be very direct, believe in his process and guidance.

While I had good AMH and FSH levels, my follicle count was low, and therefore potentially put me in the DOR category. As such, Dr. Hoffman believed that a lower dose protocol was the best way to go to achieve the best results. He put me on a Microdose Lupron Protocol with daily 225 mg Menopur and 225 mg Gonal.
Describe your experience with the nursing staff at IVF Florida (US Fertility Network clinic).
Most of the interaction with the nursing staff was through the Clinic's online portal. However, whenever I did meet with them they were very helpful and pleasant.
Describe your experience with IVF Florida (US Fertility Network clinic).
The clinic's strength is that they have extremely thoughtful and intelligent doctors that what to get a full picture of their patients in order to figure out the best way to proceed to meet your family planning goals. The clinic's weaknesses are that as a very large clinic, patients can start to feel like a number, and their prices are more expensive than some other nearby clinics in the area.
Describe the costs associated with your care under David Hoffman at IVF Florida (US Fertility Network clinic).
The egg retrieval was about $7,900. The medications were between $4,000-5,000

During our many years of treatment with this practice, we only saw Dr. Hoffman for initial consultations. Otherwise, the nursing staff and medical assistants do all treatment and procedures...The nurses said that Dr. Hoffman was recommended IVF after my third unsuccessful IUI even though my treatment hadn’t changed course from the first one, and I was later diagnosed with PCOS from another doctor which Dr. Hoffman failed to diagnose even though it was glaringly obvious in my blood work and on ultrasounds...
I never saw or spoke to the same nurse more than once [at IVF Florida]. The nurses do procedures, and because they don’t know patients personally, they aren’t familiar with your history, so they’re unable to comment about how the treatment will help a patient personally. I feel like they use a “one size fits all” approach...very helpful that the clinic opened at 6:00am for ultrasounds and bloodwork. But it’s first come first served, so sometimes you’d wait a long time. And the phlebotomist was often late, so sometimes you’d wait way longer than other times....
How was your experience with David Hoffman at IVF Florida (US Fertility Network clinic)?
We used this clinic to attempt to get pregnant on and off for many years. This clinic made me feel like a number—like I was waiting to place my order at the deli counter. There was one phlebotomist who took my blood (and cut my arm and made me bruise every time) and one ultrasound tech (who honestly was so forceful and impersonal) every visit. And even when you had an appointment, it felt like it was still first come first served. I never saw or spoke to the same nurse more than once. When we communicated through the portal, I felt belittled and like I wasn’t given adequate information regarding my treatment. They cancelled my first cycle and didn’t explain why. The nurses said that Dr. Hoffman was recommended IVF after my third unsuccessful IUI even though my treatment hadn’t changed course from the first one, and I was later diagnosed with PCOS from another doctor which Dr. Hoffman failed to diagnose even though it was glaringly obvious in my blood work and on ultrasounds.
What's one piece of advice would you give a prospective patient of David Hoffman at IVF Florida (US Fertility Network clinic)?
If you want to be a number, this is the place to be. And if you don’t mind waiting in the office for sometimes hours just for an ultrasound, this is the place for you.

I was given unmedicated cycles for IUI, and I was treated with femara and Clomid on different cycles. I was not given a trigger shot. I had no success. Because I don’t ovulate naturally.

I personally liked Dr. Hoffman and his personality, but I don’t believe that the way that the office is run allows success for most of its patients.
Describe the costs associated with your care under David Hoffman at IVF Florida (US Fertility Network clinic).
Monitor appointments and IUIs cost between $250-$300 each. This clinic also requires back to back IUIs which research says does not result in higher pregnancy rates, so I felt like they were doing it for money.
What specific things went wrong at IVF Florida (US Fertility Network clinic)?
  • Provided conflicting information
  • Failed to convey critical information
  • Canceled a cycle due to clinic error
Describe the specific things that went wrong at IVF Florida (US Fertility Network clinic).
My labwork, menstruation history, and ultrasound showed an obvious result of PCOS; however, I was never formally diagnosed or treated with it at this clinic. This resulted in zero pregnancies.

We did the ERA [with Dr. David Hoffman] because after our first FET we miscarried around 6 weeks. After our first ERA we found I needed 12 extra hours of PIO which resulted in our first IVF miracle, a healthy son! After our second ERS we found I needed 12 less hours of PIO and that resulted in a healthy daughter! We asked to be surprised by the gender and let the clinic chose the healthiest embryo to try at each FET...called us throughout the process to check in, make sure we understand everything that was going on. After we had our miscarriage he cried with us. The entire Wellington office was kind, professional, caring, and invested in our journey. Tge two best nurses, Erika and Ilean, were right there with us and have all reached out even after we had our 2 IVF miracles.

We paid just over $28,000. The whole package included 2 retrievals, unlimited FETs (frozen embryo transfer), ICSY (if needed), PGS testing, and all the monitoring associated...IVF Florida has a 1 embryo policy.
How was your experience with David Hoffman at IVF Florida (US Fertility Network clinic)?
Dr Hoffman, from day one, made us feel that he would help us create our family. He was open about which tests he wanted to run and which medical procedures we should start with. He was open about the odds of success and gave us a full understanding of the entire IVF process at the beginning as well as went over each step as we reached it. He met with us at the office that worked best for us and he always told us to call or he would call us to follow up.
What's one piece of advice would you give a prospective patient of David Hoffman at IVF Florida (US Fertility Network clinic)?
Listen to him! Dr Hoffman knows what he's talking about and will be upfront and honest with you about what he feels your next steps are.

Describe the protocols David Hoffman used in your cycles at IVF Florida (US Fertility Network clinic) and their degree of success.
Dr Hoffman felt that with my PCOS there was no reason to try IUI, since we agreed, we to go straight to IVF. I took Menupor and Gobal-F, 75 units if each 2 times a day for about 10 days. After 6 days we were told to take Cetrotide at .25mg. Lupron was given as my trigger for both retrievals, 40 units each time. We did 3 FETs with 2 ERAs. One before the second and third FET. Our FET protocol was 10 days of Lupron followed by Estrogen patches and then PIO (progesterone in (sesame) oil). We did the ERA because after our first FET we miscarried around 6 weeks. After our first ERA we found I needed 12 extra hours of PIO which resulted in our first IVF miracle, a healthy son! After our second ERS we found I needed 12 less hours of PIO and that resulted in a healthy daughter! Describe your experience with your nurse at IVF Florida (US Fertility Network clinic). (Assigned nurse: Erika and Ilean)
Erika worked with us primarily on our first FET and Ilean on our third. Both nurses worked with us on our second. They were always helpful, professional, considerate, and knowledgeable. Both nurses walked us through the steps and gave us information in a timely manner. We love them both and have been back to the clinic a few times to just visit with them.
Describe your experience with IVF Florida (US Fertility Network clinic).
We felt the Wellington and Jupiter offices were the most helpful. The Margate office was always to crowded and we did not have a good experience with the staff at the front desk on the third floor. The Margate and Jupiter offices have ORs, but the Margate office is open 7 days a week while Jupiter is open 6 days a week. Check out each office you are comfortable driving to and make sure your Dr goes to the office that is most comfortable to you. They have offices from Miami all the way up to Port St. Lucie. Since our treatments they have a new policy where the Drs rotate around by the day so scheduling any OR procedure with a specific Dr can be hard depending on when your cycle is and if you can manipulate it or not. All of the Drs have been nice, but I would not want to work with someone I didn't know except for the day of a treatment.

Describe David Hoffman's approach to eSET (elective single embryo transfer) vs. multiple embryo transfer at IVF Florida (US Fertility Network clinic).
IVF Florida has a 1 embryo policy. They prefer to transfer only 1 embryo since it is the safest for both the woman carrying (Mom or surrogate) and for the baby.

I absolutely loved Dr. Hoffman. He always so upfront with me on the next steps.... When I called the emergency line a few times, he always called me back right away to answer my questions regarding injections. When he did my surgery and found endometriosis, he called my husband from the operating room to give him an update.... He put me on the lowest dose of stimulation medications because he knew I would respond quickly.
This clinic [IVF Florida] was amazing. I am so glad my OB referred me to Dr. Hoffman and his nursing staff. There are no weaknesses. Strengths would be communication is excellent. They always called and communicated. In the very beginning the financial team called us to discuss payment options and what each payment plan covered. We were impressed that they called us right away.
How was your experience with David Hoffman at IVF Florida (US Fertility Network clinic)?
He was very passionate. After my first failed transfer, I was so upset but he talked me through it and made me feel so much better. He knew what the next steps we were going to take was. He Communicated very well. I followed all of his instructions on what to come next and I’m now 32 weeks pregnant. If it weren’t for him, I wouldn’t be where I am today.
What's one piece of advice would you give a prospective patient of David Hoffman at IVF Florida (US Fertility Network clinic)?
Follow everything he tells you to do. That’s what I did and I’m pregnant!!!
During treatment, were you treated like a number or a human with David Hoffman at IVF Florida (US Fertility Network clinic)?
I absolutely loved Dr. Hoffman. He always so upfront with me on the next steps. His nurses were always there to answer any questions. He called to check on me multiple times. When I called the emergency line a few times, he always called me back right away to answer my questions regarding injections. When he did my surgery and found endometriosis, he called my husband from the operating room to give him an update. My husband was very impressed by this. I am 32 weeks pregnant with a baby girl and I am looking forward to her meeting him.
Describe the protocols David Hoffman used in your cycles at IVF Florida (US Fertility Network clinic) and their degree of success.
He put me on the lowest dose of stimulation medications because he knew I would respond quickly. I did respond quickly. We had to increase the medications halfway through and I responded even faster. He was VERY impressed with how many eggs were retrieved and how many made it to be frozen. He gave us the option to start with IUI but told us the success rates of IUI vs IVF for us. We chose IVF with him as he thought that was the better option. I wish he could deliver my baby.
Describe your experience with your nurse at IVF Florida (US Fertility Network clinic). (Assigned nurse: Erica )
Erica and Ilene were amazing. They always called me with next steps. Whenever I showed up for an appointment, they had my information pulled with the next calendar and next steps and knew exactly what we were doing. We were always on the same page.

They were typically in the mornings. I, being a teacher, could only go in the afternoons and they were more than willing to work with me. Dr. Hoffman did my ultrasounds in the afternoons.
Describe the costs associated with your care under David Hoffman at IVF Florida (US Fertility Network clinic).
It was $22,500 but with my husband being law enforcement, we got a discount. Paid $20,000.
Describe David Hoffman's approach to eSET (elective single embryo transfer) vs. multiple embryo transfer at IVF Florida (US Fertility Network clinic).
He only wanted to transfer 1 embryo because of my age. I am 25 years old. He knew it would work and I had 6 embryos. He said the risks with multiple babies isn’t worth transferring 2 embryos as some embryos can split once transferred.

I have low AMH and my husband has abnormal morphology. He [Dr. David Hoffman] put my husband on Conception XR with motility support, which helped his sperm a great deal. We did two rounds of IUI with clomid, gonal F and trigger. Dr. Hoffman is not a huge fan of IUI and he will tell you that. But he has not once pushed us in any one direction. He likes to give you all the options and let you make the decision you're most comfortable with. Both our IUIs failed and we are starting our first round of IVF next month on the microdose protocol
Expect to wait [at IVF Florida-Margate]. This is a very busy clinic. I think they're organized and do a great job, but I can only think of once or twice when I waited less than 15-30 minutes for an appointment, even if it was just a scan and blood draw. All of the staff have been extremely kind, friendly, and helpful.... IVF Florida only does single embryo transfer to avoid the risk of multiples and that fit with what we wanted.
How was your experience with David Hoffman at IVF Florida (US Fertility Network clinic)?
Dr. Hoffman is very warm and caring. He has a great bedside manner and I find him to be very patient and reassuring. I think his greatest strength is his experience and how long he's been doing this. He will tell you he is "old school," which I was worried at first would be a weakness and that he'd be stuck in his ways, but he is very current on all the research that's out there, and I truly feel he wants to see us succeed and become pregnant.
What's one piece of advice would you give a prospective patient of David Hoffman at IVF Florida (US Fertility Network clinic)?
I have two: 1) Ask all of the questions you can think of and make sure you understand everything - he will definitely take the time to explain. 2) Trust what he tells you. We're still in the middle of treatment, but so far he's been accurate in his assessments and I feel good about our treatment plan.
During treatment, were you treated like a number or a human with David Hoffman at IVF Florida (US Fertility Network clinic)?
Dr. Hoffman has been kind and patient throughout the entire process. He always shares personal anecdotes, takes his time explaining things or answering my questions, and is always very reassuring.

IVF Florida only does single embryo transfer to avoid the risk of multiples and that fit with what we wanted.

Dr Hoffman has terrible communication, never had time to discuss treatment or options and never listened. I had blocked tubes and surgery corrected the issue. Right after dr. Hoffman continuously pushed me to do IVF even though my insurance covered most of the IUI process. I insisted on 1 IUI which resulted in an ectopic pregnancy and I lost my tube. We then got pregnant on our own which was another ectopic and I lost my other tube.
They [IVF Florida-Jupiter] had a 2 cycle package that we got which was 27k, it included monitoring, retrieval, icsi if needed and cryo storage for 6 months. We had to pay for the 1st monitoring visit which was $350, anesthesia for retrieval which was $500 and all meds which were 5k first cycle and 9k 2nd cycle... The nursing staff was who I saw most visits and they were excellent yet couldn't always answer my questions and had to send my Dr a message for him to respond to later and message me through a message board.
How was your experience with David Hoffman at IVF Florida (US Fertility Network clinic)?
Dr. Hoffman came recommended due to his success rate. However, I ended up switching treatment to another doctor because of his lack of communication. Then IVF was our only option so we refinanced our house to come up with the money. After 2 retrievals we only has 3 viable eggs. Dr. Hoffman made us feel that the egg retrieval numbers would be higher with our 2nd cycle, we were worried of low egg count and wanted to cancel the cycle but we're reassured we'd get more than the 2 we got with the 1st round. We got 3 eggs out of our 2nd cycle. Only 2 fertilized and so we asked if 1 or both were not looking great we wanted to fresh transfer on day 5. It was all set up and I started progesterone and estrogen just in case then on day 5 (a Saturday) no one called me or would call me back until a nurse called at 1pm and said everyone had gone home for the day. I called repeatedly on Sunday, spoke to another doctor who told me we lost 1 egg overnight Saturday and froze 1. That somehow there must have been miscommunication with Dr Hoffman and I about doing a fresh transfer. I immediately switched care to another doctor. I now believe communication during this is more important that the doctors success rate and wish I had seen another doctor.
What's one piece of advice would you give a prospective patient of David Hoffman at IVF Florida (US Fertility Network clinic)?
If you feel communication is important, I'd suggest Dr. G with this practice. If you don't care about communication or getting as much information as possible during this practice then go with Dr. Hoffman
During treatment, were you treated like a number or a human with David Hoffman at IVF Florida (US Fertility Network clinic)?
Dr. Hoffman consistently told me what to do without explanation or conversation. It seemed as though he was always too busy to discuss the process with me so I had to research on my own and try to make my own uneducated decisions.
Describe the protocols David Hoffman used in your cycles at IVF Florida (US Fertility Network clinic) and their degree of success.
Split protocol with birth control suppression. 75 iu gonal-f and 75 menopur for 1st cycle. I was considered a low responder to the meds to we increased to 150iu gonal-f and 150iu menopur for the 2nd cycle However we retrieval 3 eggs in both cycles.
Describe your experience with the nursing staff at IVF Florida (US Fertility Network clinic).
The nursing staff was who I saw most visits and they were excellent yet couldn't always answer my questions and had to send my Dr a message for him to respond to later and message me through a message board.
Describe your experience with IVF Florida (US Fertility Network clinic).
The clinic is clean and organized. However their main clinic was in Margate, an hour and a half away from my house. They have since added a clinic closer in Jupiter however. The clinic staff was by far the best part of any of my procedures. The doctor rotated daily through retrievals and transfers however so know that your doctor will likely not be the doctor to preform your retrieval or transfer.

My Dr strongly recommend that we only transfer 1 embryo and that frozen was a better option. We tried fresh the 1st cycle which failed then the frozen took however resulted in miscarriage due to chromosomal abnormalities. I agree with single transfers however. My goal was to have one healthy baby and i felt the risks associated with twins was too high.
What specific things went wrong at IVF Florida (US Fertility Network clinic)?
  • Failed to call with results
Describe the specific things that went wrong at IVF Florida (US Fertility Network clinic).
The clinic uses a website that you log into to get results and communication regarding treatment however the results are often not uploaded and you have to call to speak to a nurse to get them the following day.

Describe the protocols David Hoffman used in your cycles at IVF Florida (US Fertility Network clinic) and their degree of success.
My ovarian reserve looked good and our main issue was male factor. We used the agonist protocol using Ganirelix to supress ovulation. Dr. Hoffman also had me trigger using Lupron to reduce the changes that I would have OHSS. The protocol worked beautifully. I have 9 eggs retrieved, 8 were mature, 6 fertilized and all 6 made it to freeze. We did an all freeze cycle because I had to have surgery to remove a uterine fibroid.

At IVF Florida you are assigned to a nurse team. My team consisted of 3 nurses - Brittany, Jackie and a third whose name I can't remember at the moment. All of them were very nice. There is a patient portal that you can send questions to your nurse team and they always respond promptly.

IVF Florida - Margate is full of amazing staff. Everyone from the ladies at the front desk, to the woman who drew my blood, the US techs, the doctors and nurses are all wonderful. They take their time to make your visit a smooth process. I had one of the front desk ladies come down to the second floor the day of my egg retrieval because she saw me on the schedule and she just wanted to come and give me a hug and wish me good luck. You don't find medical staff as friendly as you do at IVF Florida.
Describe the costs associated with your care under David Hoffman at IVF Florida (US Fertility Network clinic).
SIS costs $975.00, HSG cost $595. I don't remember specifically the other costs. IVF is not cheap though (no matter where you go)
Describe David Hoffman's approach to eSET (elective single embryo transfer) vs. multiple embryo transfer at IVF Florida (US Fertility Network clinic).
Dr. Hoffman was very adamant that we should only transfer 1 embryo. Due to my age and the fact that I had never been pregnant or miscarried he said my chances didn't change with multiple embryos, only my chances of having multiples. IVF Florida is very careful - their main goal is to get your pregnant with 1 baby.

Dr. Hoffman is old school, he'll tell you like it is and make sure you understand what your options are. I think that he knows that main goal is to get pregnant, and he does not want to waste your time with treatment options that don't have a high chance of being successful. He told us exactly what to expect, exactly what his expectations were, and called himself with any important updates. He was real and genuine, I appreciate the care he gave us and his honesty with what needed to happen to get pregnant.
The only weakness would be that some might consider it to be impersonal, it's very large and you tend to see a different nurse each specialized visit. The benefits of a large clinic vastly outweighed any negatives. I rarely waited past my scheduled appointment time, my results were often online the day of my visit, the nurses were on top of the voice messages and e-mails, never leaving me waiting long to get a response. Also, despite the size I had the same nurse do my blood work each time, as well as the same nurse do my ultrasound, they were both amazing and remembered me when I came back.

What's one piece of advice would you give a prospective patient of David Hoffman at IVF Florida (US Fertility Network clinic)?
Trust his suggestions. When he told us we would need to do IVF we thought he might be jumping the gun, going with the most expensive and invasive procedure right off the bat. I know now that the other options had such a smaller likelihood of resulting in a pregnancy, and although we tried Clomid and a trigger injection (without success), we ultimately trusted him and it worked!
During treatment, were you treated like a number or a human with David Hoffman at IVF Florida (US Fertility Network clinic)?
Dr. Hoffman always referred to me by name, actually, he used my nickname. He remembered by hobbies, he asked how I was doing with the adjustment of changing my exercise routine during hormone injections, and was candid about what I needed to do to have a successful pregnancy. When he first told us we would have to do IVF to get pregnant, I was upset, but the way he said it was truly hopeful, he told me we could get pregnant, we just had to trust him. We did and we're pregnant. It's a huge step to make, but I'm glad he encouraged us to do IVF when Clomid didn't work. I have heard women that have tried multiple IUI cycles and wasted precious time and money. I felt like he wanted us to be happy and made the suggestion that would make that happen.
Describe the protocols David Hoffman used in your cycles at IVF Florida (US Fertility Network clinic) and their degree of success.
Our first cycle was using Clomid to see if my hormone levels would increase to the point of ovulating (I was not ovulating, that was why I would not get pregnant). I took the Clomid and a trigger shot, however, my hormones plateued and I was not able to reach the level needed to ovulate and undergo IUI. The next cycle was IVF. We injected one hormone for about a week morning and the same hormone and another at night, for the second week we did the same injections and added another injection in the evening (Menopur and Gonal-F, then another one I can't remember). I went into the office once or twice a week for bloodwork to check that my hormones were responding to the medications. My cycle went exactly as planned, my husband gave me my trigger shot and then we went in for the retrieval. Dr. Hoffman thought I may have a frozen embryo transfer due to concerns that I may over-stimulate, however, after the retrieval I was slated for a day 5 fresh transfer and went back in to have my embryo implanted. It all happened so fast, we were so lucky.
Describe your experience with your nurse at IVF Florida (US Fertility Network clinic). (Assigned nurse: Jackie, Beverly, and Brittany)
The nursing staff was amazing, they were so patient and always available. They responded to all my e-mails that day, and were available to respond to my messages regarding any concerns. They really went above and beyond my expectations making sure that I had all the information I needed and helped with anything that I was concerned about.

Describe David Hoffman's approach to eSET (elective single embryo transfer) vs. multiple embryo transfer at IVF Florida (US Fertility Network clinic).
We only really discussed transferring one embryo, due to my age and the expectation that my embryos would be of good quality, he was confident that one embryo would result in a pregnancy.

Dr.Hoffman was aggressive with my treatment and that indicated to me that he wanted me to have a baby as much as my husband and I. He always presented all options and never pressured us to make big decisions without thinking about it and he was readily available to answer questions and walk us through our treatment... When I met Dr.Hoffman I had just had a laparoscopy and was traumatized by the severe findings and the lack of empathy from the doctor that performed it. I felt that Dr.Hoffman realized just how nervous and sad I was and really responded compassionately.
I felt the nursing staff [at Fertility & IVF Center of Miami] were completely desensitized and made me feel bad for asking questions or becoming emotional at appointments...The clinic itself is well run, the front desk stafff is very kind and friendly and the system they use is user friendly and current. The facilities are all clean and updated. There are several facilities across south Florida which really helped us coordinate our care, for example my husband was able to have his speed tested at a location closer to his job and I was able to go to appointments closer to my job.

Describe the protocols David Hoffman used in your cycles at Fertility & IVF Center of Miami and their degree of success.
As a coping mechanism I have blocked a lot of this part of the journey out and my husband gave me every single injection. Prior to becoming a patient of Dr.Hoffman I had a laporscopy. Dr. Hoffman performed a polypectomy to remove 2 polyps from uterus which were detected by a saline sonogram. I had an HSG test and my ovarian reserve and other hormone levels were measured. During ivf I was on a regimen of menapur, gonal f and lupron. The doses did not need to be changed throughout treatment and I had daily sonograms and blood tests to monitor. After retrieval I used progesterone suppositories.

Dr. Hoffman is very straight forward, which I appreciated. I felt at times though that because he has so many patients he was often rushing. I like that he was thorough with pre testing and he is very good at surgical procedures, ie hysteroscopy.. I did not like that after none of our eggs made it to blast he didn't call us. Instead we heard from someone we never had contact with prior and we had to call and ask for a follow up appointment to speak with Dr. Hoffman about the particulars. I did not feel reassured that the protocol a 2nd time around wld be changed to yield a better outcome. Instead it felt like Dr. Hoffman had no real answers as to why none made it to blast for a transfer and it would be a try again and see what happens.
This clinic [IVF Florida] is extemely busy but well run. The wait was usually not that long and their hours are accommodating, esp weekends. All of our encounters with the care team was positive. Be sure to ask questions you may have along the way.... The nurse team is amazing. You really communicate with them more than your doctor. I also saw Barbara along with Debbie. They were thorough and called to keep us on track. They demonstrated how to give yourself the injections. They are compassionate and very well informed.

We did the lupron, gonal protocol. It spanned close to 10 days . I think due to my age i was put on an aggressive course, but while it yielded a lot of eggs, the quality was not good after fertilization and i had mild over stimulation.

I did not feel rushed the 2 times I met with him...I did not like the fact that he did not go into great detail explaining the procedure.
The team in their Pembroke Pines office seem nicer and the more they saw me, they recognized me. It was always good care, but they are busy and with that comes a slight loss of touch with the patient. The team at the Margate office where I met Dr. Hoffmann, treated me more like a number.
How was your experience with David Hoffman at IVF Florida (US Fertility Network clinic)?
He spoke about his knowledge and experience, which I liked, even though I had done my research. He had a relaxed attitude and I felt welcomed. I did not feel rushed the 2 times I met with him. He even went on to talk about more personal things, like family and vacation trips. I did not like the fact that he did not go into great detail explaining the procedure. I did not care much at this time as he was the third doctor I was "interviewing" before choosing to go with him. I had most of my questions answered by then, but if he was the first one I was seeing, I'm not so sure I would have enjoyed it as much. Overall, it was a good experience.
What's one piece of advice would you give a prospective patient of David Hoffman at IVF Florida (US Fertility Network clinic)?
Have all your questions on paper so you won't forget a thing. He will not give so much detail and you might miss something you really needed to know or ask.
During treatment, were you treated like a number or a human with David Hoffman at IVF Florida (US Fertility Network clinic)?
I saw nurses in 2 different locations. The team in their Pembroke Pines office seem nicer and the more they saw me, they recognized me. It was always good care, but they are busy and with that comes a slight loss of touch with the patient. The team at the Margate office where I met Dr. Hoffmann, treated me more like a number. I only met with Dr Hoffmann twice and have not seen him since then. He did not do the retrieval as he was not the doctor working that day. Overall, it felt very impersonal at times, and if I was a single woman doing this alone without emotional support at home, it would have been even more difficult. I did like their organization and explanation every step of the way. No matter who picked up the phone I was helped properly.

The protocol is set and they follow it and explain it very well. Very nice attitude overall.

I did not get pregnant on the first injectable cycle with him. He tweaked dosage, etc., for the second cycle and I did get a positive pregnancy test. Sadly, I lost that pregnancy at 7 weeks. Dr. Hoffman recommended I have a D&C so he could send the embryo off for testing. Turns out my body did what it was supposed to do and miscarried a genetically-flawed embryo that was chromosomally abnormal.
[IVF Florida is] well-organized, well-run, and staffed with caring, compassionate professionals. The practice utilizes cutting edge technologies and seems to be on top of current research and developments in the ART field....The staff were always caring and helpful. I never felt like just another patient. I felt like they truly cared about me and my well being and wanted to see my husband and I successfully achieve a pregnancy.
How was your experience with David Hoffman at IVF Florida (US Fertility Network clinic)?
Dr. Hoffman is very thorough and takes time to explain things. At no time did I not feel like a valued patient. He was always kind and spoke with my husband and I with compassion, knowledge, and optimism. He was the only doctor who was able to correctly diagnose my issue and help us go on to build our family--without help from any additional assisted reproductive technologies. We actually got pregnant the 'old fashioned way' thanks to his treatment, diagnosis, and solution.
What's one piece of advice would you give a prospective patient of David Hoffman at IVF Florida (US Fertility Network clinic)?
Ask questions if you don't understand something fully. He will take the time to ensure you leave his office understanding.
During treatment, were you treated like a number or a human with David Hoffman at IVF Florida (US Fertility Network clinic)?
When I suffered a miscarriage and elected for a D&C, I cried on the gurney while awaiting my turn in surgery, Dr. Hoffman came and sat with me for a few minutes, consoled me, and teared up right along with me. It made me feel like he truly cared.
Describe the protocols David Hoffman used in your cycles at IVF Florida (US Fertility Network clinic) and their degree of success.
Dr. Hoffman opted for IUI with injectables (ovidrel I think we used). I responded well and we had 5 eggs develop that were potentially 'the one.' I did not get pregnant on the first injectable cycle with him.
Describe your experience with your nurse at IVF Florida (US Fertility Network clinic).
The staff were always caring and helpful. I never felt like just another patient. I felt like they truly cared about me and my well being and wanted to see my husband and I successfully achieve a pregnancy.
Describe your experience with IVF Florida (US Fertility Network clinic).
Well-organized, well-run, and staffed with caring, compassionate professionals. The practice utilizes cutting edge technologies and seems to be on top of current research and developments in the ART field.
Describe the costs associated with your care under David Hoffman at IVF Florida (US Fertility Network clinic).
I had very good health insurance coverage that covered a good amount of my care. I paid just a few hundred dollars out of pocket for each IUI. We were preparing to move on to IVF and the clinic had a shared risk program where you got several 'tries' at a successful IVF cycle for one flat rate (not including medications). I seem to recall it was around $20,000 for 3 attempts at that time.

I felt like a human. Dr. Hoffman has been in practice for many many years. He is honest and bc my prognosis was good for getting pregnant, he was positive. He would say to me, it’s not a matter of if for you it’s a matter of when. Bc of his knowledge and care I now have boy/girl twins...He is an excellent communicator. He’s very well read. His scope of practice is vast as one of his specialties being laparoscopic surgery. He performed two of these for me. Ivf of FL is a big practice with a lot of staff and a lot of patients. Sometimes it was difficult to get a hold of him but mostly I could.
Sometimes [the nurses at IVF Florida are] hard to get a hold of but they are SO busy! But once I got a hold of them and when in person their bed side was perfect! Sensitive and empathetic! Even the woman who took my blood regularly... Ivf of FL no longer transfers 2 embryos unless the patient is 40 or older... They’re organized and friendly. Some nurses offered for me to call them personally when I was feeling super stressed.

Be open and honest about your fertility goals and be patient as this can be a lengthy process. Dr. Hoffman will not rush to get you pregnant. He does things when the timing is right.

He [Dr. David Hoffman] introduced himself and background, had a great bedside manner and explained everything to myself and my husband in great detail until we understood exactly what would happen. During each procedure he would explain as he was going and once completed would sit down with me and go over everything again. He is a great doctor and would recommend him to anyone, the office he works in on the other hand is huge and not the friendliest when trying to reach the doctor and/or nurse

Dr. Hoffman decided he wants to re-do testing from scratch which made no sense as all our tests were done 2 months before we saw him. I agreed to some tests provided he will take me into cycle the next month...He also does not accommodate with sedation for tests like SIS/HSG. He would not prescribe pain killer or anything...My results did not change. He only delayed treatment
I only dealt with [the IVF Florida] pre-testing staff. Nurses during that period were great...Estimate for one cycle was $13,986 for monitoring and egg retrieval only. Anesthesia $600; PGT testing and biopsy $5k; medicine 4-8k...if your partner needs to do a semen analysis and you plan to do it at home and just bring it in, triple check clinic understands...
How was your experience with David Hoffman at IVF Florida (US Fertility Network clinic)?
We came to clinic with all pre-conception testings done. We started with my ObGyn and another fertility clinic. We were ready to start the cycle. Dr. Hoffman decided he wants to re-do testing from scratch which made no sense as all our tests were done 2 months before we saw him. I agreed to some tests provided he will take me into cycle the next month. After our initial appointment he decided he wants more tests done which have to be done during menstrual cycle only. My results did not change. He only delayed treatment. In our situation time was of an essence as Im 39 but he did not care. Clinics gets paid regardless of the success. Whatsmore, the older you are the more cycles you need. I felt he delayed treatment so we spend more money.
What's one piece of advice would you give a prospective patient of David Hoffman at IVF Florida (US Fertility Network clinic)?
If you are of an advance maternal age and time is of an essence seek out a clinic that would not waste your time. Dr. Hoffman will make you re-do tests even if yours have just been done including pap smear. Mine was 3 weeks old and he only wanted to do a new one and only at his lab. He also does not accommodate with sedation for tests like SIS/HSG. He would not prescribe pain killer or anything. I had to seek a doctor who agreed to offer sedation and IVF Florida was not much fond as they did not have a chance to make money.
During treatment, were you treated like a number or a human with David Hoffman at IVF Florida (US Fertility Network clinic)?

Describe your experience with IVF Florida (US Fertility Network clinic).
If you are over 30 years old don't waste your time. In out experience Florida clinics are very week when it comes to fertility treatments. Also, if your partner needs to do a semen analysis and you plan to do it at home and just bring it in, triple check clinic understands sample only lives for 45 min. They screwed our time and instead of taking the sample from us upon arrival they made us wait for 50 min. Sample could not used and was discarded. We wasted time off work and money.
Describe the costs associated with your care under David Hoffman at IVF Florida (US Fertility Network clinic).
Estimate for one cycle was $13,986 for monitoring and egg retrieval only. Anesthesia $600; PGT testing and biopsy $5k; medicine 4-8k; frozen transfer (clinic does not offer fresh transfers at all) $5k plus additional medicine of $2k. If you buy more than one cycle and pay everything in full and upfront, they offer discount on potential transfer.

Describe the specific things that went wrong at IVF Florida (US Fertility Network clinic).
Clinic had us re-do testing and tried to push another testing as self paid when insurance covers it. Doctor gave misleading information. Front desk has no idea why you are there and what procedures you came for. Waiting time is horrible. They book everyone for same time. They did not take the semen sample timely which caused for semen to die and test reschedule and cycle for that month canceled.

Dr. Hoffman doesn’t give you the feed back that you are waiting for. I needed to beg for my ultrasounds in order to know what was happening with my eggs. In the middle of the process, Dr. Hoffman said that he needed to increase my hormone dose, but he didn’t...The treatment had a lot of mistakes: they didn’t know my DNA result, they made me start the blood work and ultrasound and then figure out that I couldn’t start, but they didn’t refund me for that; the Dr. said that he should increase my hormones, but he didn’t; and to finally this terrible experience he said that I should go to his office before, not with my age and he pushed me to buy eggs even knowing that I didn’t want that. All he could say was that I was old and that I needed to buy eggs from a donor

His clinic sent me a wrong bill that I already had paid. They are a complete mess...Ivf around 14k and meds around 4k...they didn’t give a reason for not having a healthy embryo that could be frozen, Dr. Hoffman only said it should be anormal.

If you have around 40 years old, don’t go there. They should say that they treat only women between 20-30, where you have higher probability to have your healthy eggs. The clinic is a mess for the bilking department, xerox all your checks, so you have proof of payment

Describe your experience with your nurse at IVF Florida (US Fertility Network clinic). (Assigned nurse: Jackie)
Jackie was rude all the time. For me she has problem with her job. She doesn’t have any patience to explain the procedures. I had a bunch of question because it was my first time and I was confused and scared. She made me uncomfortable during the treatment, she almost said to give up of that, since I had low quantity of eggs to retrieve
Describe your experience with IVF Florida (US Fertility Network clinic).
I really don’t recommend the Margate clinic and the doctor. Maybe at another place with another doctor it could be better. But the staff that I went, they only think you as a number and they don’t care about the stress and the hurt that it can be to have a fail. They even called me during the day of the retrieve in the afternoon to check if it was ok. They only called me when the embryos was fertilized. And after that, they didn’t give a reason for not having a healthy embryo that could be frozen, Dr. Hoffman only said it should be anormal.

Dr. Hoffman explained everything in detail to me. He’s compassionate and made me feel as if I had nothing to worry about. He’s very knowledgeable. He treated me for scar tissues. I always feel safe when I talk to Dr. Hoffman. I really wish I could afford to have him as my doctor though Out this journey...He said my health was first in his book and he wanted me and the baby to be healthy. He informed me about the risk. Yes I would love twins and even asked me to please do multiple but he said no it’s too risky. And for that I know Dr. Hoffman had my best interest at heart.
I had an appointment [at IVF Florida] and had to wait over an hour. I was told by the front desk that my doctor had an emergency and wouldn’t be in for another hour. I was already late for work when I was finally informed. After I left I was called on my cell by my nurse and she was upset that the front desk gave me wrong information. In fact my doctor was there and was ready to see me. Dr. Hoffman called me a few mins later to apologize.

Dr. Hoffman is such a awesome person. He’s very knowledgeable. I was given wrong information for my appointment by the front desk and Doctor Hoffman personally called me to apologize. He was very upset that I had to wait a long time and wasn’t able to see him. And he spoke to me and gave me a meeting over the phone. I always feel comfortable with him. He treated me for scars and prepared me for where I am today. If it wasn’t for the fact that I can not afford IVF Florida I would 100% still be going to Dr. Hoffman I highly recommend him and personally would want him as my doctor though-out this process. But I just can not afford it.

I haven’t gotten this far because after I was told how much it would cost for treatment I knew I couldn’t afford it.
Describe your experience with the nursing staff at IVF Florida (US Fertility Network clinic).
Beverley is so nice and so helpful. I called her for everything and felt more comfortable talking to her than the front desk people. Dr.Hoffman have another nurse but I can’t remember her name. She’s such a good soul. I love his staff.
Describe your experience with IVF Florida (US Fertility Network clinic).
I really like that the clinic have multiple locations and always clean. They have great staff members. The only thing that I didn’t like is sometimes the people at the front desk. They are not always warm and welcoming. It’s already stressful going to a place like that so a friendly warm face would absolutely help.
Describe the costs associated with your care under David Hoffman at IVF Florida (US Fertility Network clinic).
Well I had two surgeries to remove scar tissues and a pallet. And after many visits to the clinic it surely added up. But when I met with the finance team to start the ivf process. I was told it would cost some where about $40,000 and that I 100% could not afford. So I stop going and found another facility.

Dr Hoffman is very nice and has always treated me very kindly.... He's very experienced and realistic. Dr. Hoffman is kind and respectful and attentive. He has always been honest and upfront with me. Hopefully in the future he will able to help me meet my goals of becoming a mother... I have had polyps removed, Sema4 genetic testing, numerous ultrasounds to check my follicles. I was on Menopur and Gona F for about 10 days and did an HCG trigger shot before retrieval which resulted in 4 eggs that were not viable.

I like he [Dr. David Hoffman] is personable and on one and one very nice and straight forward. The only thing I didn’t like is that sometimes he said one thing and the nurses said they can’t do it as far as scheduling goes...Take everything he says with a grain of salt as pertains to your schedule...We are in the process of a low hormone stimulus to see how many eggs I can get
[IVF Florida - Margate is] High tech and easily accessible to get to. Nice new facility as well.
