Dr Leblanc had great bedside manner - she talked to us directly and looked us in the eyes. She did a great job of balancing providing us with the facts as well as acknowledging what that means emotionally for us...From our initial consult with Dr Leblanc, we felt seen as a queer couple (not a couple experiencing infertility which we know is the majority demographic)...good at explaining all our options and allowing space to ask questions
{Hanabusa IVF] Strengths: Experienced, knowledgeable, thoughtful doctors. Felt like we were in great hands the whole time...Customer service is great - answer phone kindly and quickly, all smiles throughout the visits. Loved being able to pay (easily) after each service instead of lump up front sums. Allowed us to budget, track and move funds around a lot more easily...Weaknesses: Portal was difficult/impossible to view and sign some documents with the Chrome browser
How was your experience with Diana LeBlanc (OB/GYN) at Hanabusa IVF?
We came to Hanabusa after an unsuccessful ICI, two unsuccessful IUIs and a brief exploration phase with SDFC which didn't feel like a great fit and I read multiple reviews about patients there feeling like they were just a number. From our initial consult with Dr Leblanc, we felt seen as a queer couple (not a couple experiencing infertility which we know is the majority demographic). She was good at explaining all our options and allowing space to ask questions. We had a few very difficult results and she was empathetic and understanding while still presenting options moving forward with our permission. Although we have yet to achieve our goal of becoming birthing parents and expanding our family, we are happy with the service provided by Dr LeBlanc.
What's one piece of advice would you give a prospective patient of Diana LeBlanc (OB/GYN) at Hanabusa IVF?
Use she space she provides to ask questions - come prepared to ask them if you're in the information is power camp like I am. She is great at answering them.
During treatment, were you treated like a number or a human with Diana LeBlanc (OB/GYN) at Hanabusa IVF?

Describe the protocols Diana LeBlanc (OB/GYN) used in your cycles at Hanabusa IVF and their degree of success.
My wife is in her early 30s so we did a minimal stimulation cycle - yielded 11 eggs - 5 become embryos - 1 tested genetically normal - that one did not survive the thaw :( I was preparing for the FET - since we only had 1 genetically normal embryo, I did a saline ultrasound where a possible polyp was spotted - had a polypectomy, did an ERA cycle to ensure best timing - prescribed estradiol, prednisone, aspirin, and progesterone - cannot confirm what results were produced as we never got to the transfer
Describe your experience with your nurse at Hanabusa IVF. (Assigned nurse: Heizl)
Overall we were very happy with our nurse's care with us. At first it was a bit difficult to understand her over the phone - written communication (especially with all the new medical jargon we were learning was preferred), but as we got to hear her more we learned her accent and the communication got easier. She was very polite, thoughtful, personable, and educational. She answered all our questions as well when asked or defferred to Dr Leblanc if necessary (which we appreciated). A call was paired with written information most of the time which for new processess/procedures was much appreciated.
Describe your experience with Hanabusa IVF.
Strengths: Experienced, knowledgeable, thoughtful doctors. Felt like we were in great hands the whole time. Thorough plans with clear notes from past and moving forward. Options with medications. Mindful of options for keeping within our budget and transparent pricing before and during. Customer service is great - answer phone kindly and quickly, all smiles throughout the visits. Loved being able to pay (easily) after each service instead of lump up front sums. Allowed us to budget, track and move funds around a lot more easily. Weaknesses: Portal was difficult/impossible to view and sign some documents with the Chrome browser, but switching to Safari fixed issues. Messaging could be organized much better in the portal and it'd be great if released documents could be sorted by date. A few visits staff (front desk or sonographers) weren't aware of what I was there for (ie, I'd finish an ultrasound and they'd be like, "bye! Have a great day!" and I was like, "Oh, I think I still have a blood draw, right?" SO, know exactly what you're scheduled for and make sure you get those things done or you might leave without them if left to their direction.
Describe the costs associated with your care under Diana LeBlanc (OB/GYN) at Hanabusa IVF.
Hanabusa: Sperm Storage (400) and Recieval Fee (200) 1 $600 Saline Ultrasound with Dr Chang 1 $400 Hanabusa: Initial Consultation 1 $250 Ultrasound for follicles, blood draw, and STD testing 1 $600 Hanabusa: Ultrasounds and blood draws 1;1; 1000 Hanabusa: IVF Cycle Egg Retrieval (10+ eggs) 1 9250 Hanabusa: Anesthesia for IVF 1 750 Hanabusa: PGTA Testing 5 embryos 4000 Hanabusa: Cryopreservation fee for embryos for a year 1400 pregnancy panel and infectious disease ($100) testing at Hanabusa 1 100 Blood Draw for ERA cycle 1 250 Blood Draw for ERA cycle 1 250 Uterine Ultrasound for ERA Cycle 1 250 Blood Draw for ERA cycle 1 250 ERA (biopsy) apt with Dr Chang + blood work 1 650 ERA assessment with Igenomix 1 795 Labs 1 250 Ultrasound and blood draw 1 each 500 Blood Draw for ERA cycle 1 250 * removed cost of meds as they're not set by the clinic as well as outside procedures like polypectomy and acupuncture
Describe Diana LeBlanc (OB/GYN)'s approach to eSET (elective single embryo transfer) vs. multiple embryo transfer at Hanabusa IVF.
We're aware single embryo transfer is the clinics preference - we did not have multiple embryos to transfer so never had a discussion with them regarding that as a possibility for us.
How competent was Hanabusa IVF at LGBTQ+ care?
Yes - we really felt that they addressed our protocol through the lens of a queer couple trying to conceive, not infertility, which we appreciated. We never felt othered by any of the staff and felt supported throughout. It's difficult to enter the process of expanding our family biologically knowing the commitment financially, time wise, and emotionally we would have to make and it felt like they empathised with that. Infertility between a straight couple is certainly just as difficult, queer couples just don't even start with an option to try that way, so there is a large inital, intentional commitment that can start the journey off on a different note.
Describe your experience using 3rd party reproduction (donor eggs, donor sperm, or gestational carrier) at Hanabusa IVF.
We decided to use a different donor bank than our initial donor bank for the ICI and IUIs as we found one closer that was more affordable per vial AND allowed for local pickup and Hanabusa allowed drop off, which saved us a little cash on delivery from both our bank and at Hanabusa, so was grateful for that option. Forms were clear to use, complete, and times for drop off reasonable (from what I remember).

[Dr. Diana LeBlanc] was compassionate and thorough with the information provided...mentioned she used a larger dose and that had over suppressed my hormones, so I wasn't sure why she didn't start off with a smaller dose and then increase if needed...cycle had to be cancelled due to the large dose used,
[Hanabusa IVF] was organized, information provided was detailed, the appointments for blood draws were very quick, and waiting for doctor appointments were not too bad either...appreciate the organization of their practice...Nicole was very organized, compassionate, and detail oriented...never made me feel badly for asking so many questions.
How was your experience with Diana LeBlanc (OB/GYN) at Hanabusa IVF?
She was compassionate and thorough with the information provided, some of the approaches however seemed more of a gamble and sort of trial and error. Some of the protocols were costly to experiment with for a not great outcome. She mentioned she used a larger dose and that had over suppressed my hormones, so I wasn't sure why she didn't start off with a smaller dose and then increase if needed, especially with the cost of the medication. That cycle had to be cancelled due to the large dose used, and it was difficult due to the time and money spent on that protocol.
What's one piece of advice would you give a prospective patient of Diana LeBlanc (OB/GYN) at Hanabusa IVF?
If experimenting with a different protocol ask questions to see if successful with other patients, and also if unsuccessful, the reason why.
During treatment, were you treated like a number or a human with Diana LeBlanc (OB/GYN) at Hanabusa IVF?
She had a great bedside manner, that she was careful in the way she delivered information that was not positive, and made sure she answered any questions.
Describe the protocols Diana LeBlanc (OB/GYN) used in your cycles at Hanabusa IVF and their degree of success.
Used lupron for a longer protocol with the idea to lower FSH and suppress pituitary for 30 days. Was supposed to help with more follicles for egg retrieval, however, this over suppressed hormones, so we didn't end up doing a egg retrieval with this protocol and the outcome was very costly. Longer period for monitoring and the cost of medication was very high.
Describe your experience with your nurse at Hanabusa IVF. (Assigned nurse: Nicole Thach)
Nicole was very organized, compassionate, and detail oriented. She got back quickly with information to any questions (and I had lots of questions) and never made me feel badly for asking so many questions.
Describe your experience with Hanabusa IVF.
The clinic was organized, information provided was detailed, the appointments for blood draws were very quick, and waiting for doctor appointments were not too bad either. That was my first experience with IVF, and now comparing to a different clinic, I appreciate the organization of their practice.
Describe the costs associated with your care under Diana LeBlanc (OB/GYN) at Hanabusa IVF.
The cost were high, however, rather than purchasing a package upfront, you pay as you go. This may be beneficial if you think you only need to do one IVF cycle.

Dr. LeBlanc embodies all of the qualities a patient would hope for in an infertility specialist. She is caring, knowledgeable and straightforward. I always felt that she was available for my questions and took her time to make sure our visits were productive. She consistently provided me the choice of options for treatment, while providing guidance when asked for her opinion
The [Hanabusa IVF] office is filled with staff that provide a very warm, supportive environment...My nurse was particularly suitable for my personality and the level of care needed...There is a lot of information from the start that covers fees and the process. The fee sheet that provides fees is very confusing and the individual assigned to explain was not very helpful. It is also not convenient that you have to call to schedule bloodwork.

What's one piece of advice would you give a prospective patient of Diana LeBlanc (OB/GYN) at Hanabusa IVF?
Don't be afraid to ask questions if you don't understand a step in the process or a term being used. I think it is easy for professionals to think that patients know more than they do about treatment due to the vast amount of information available online about infertility.
During treatment, were you treated like a number or a human with Diana LeBlanc (OB/GYN) at Hanabusa IVF?
Dr. LeBlanc was knowledgeable about my particular situation and my family. I always felt as though she was personally treating me and cared about the outcome. She is personable and professional, while also straightforward about the potential downsides of IVF.
Describe your experience with your nurse at Hanabusa IVF. (Assigned nurse: Ryan Nestler)
My nurse was particularly suitable for my personality and the level of care needed. She was always available to help me, even when the need for help was caused by my own delay or misunderstanding. She too was honest with me and set expectations as needed. Coincidentally, there were no nurses or staff there that I didn't genuinely like and feel cared for by. The office is filled with staff that provide a very warm, supportive environment.

She [Dr. LeBlanc] explains clearly about my status. She is not going too optimistic without evidence which helped me to stay calm during the process. She has a good bedside manner and it was nice to have only her doing my ultrasound...[she] explained all the details and possibilities(pros and cons) at the first consultation and throughout the process, she explained clearly based on my own ultrasound and blood results.
This [Hanabusa IVF] clinic seems to have many options for someone who doesn’t want to do lots of meds to stimulate. There are mini IVF, natural IVF, Low Complexity IVF(LCIVF) as well as regular IVF. I just wanted to try as little injections as possible for the first try since I was too overwhelmed for the injections and LCIVF was a perfect match for me...I had a LCIVF and it was under $5000 total.

She [Dr. LeBlanc] went over all of our records and came up with a plan of care. She gave me honest answers and she truly believed she could help us. She gave us hope and restored our confidence in this difficult process. She is compassionate and knowledgeable and I am grateful for her and her team...I am always able to speak with someone when I need to.
Every [Hanabusa IVF] nurse I have had the pleasure of dealing with has been extremely kind, caring, respectful and responsive...I think their strengths are that the doctors and nurses really treat you as an individual and coordinate your care based on how your body reacts to medications or other treatments. You are not a number and are not on a general protocol that all patients are on. Your treatment is designed for you, which is extremely important in this process. Their billing system is a strength and weakness, it is pay as you go a la carte billing
How was your experience with Diana LeBlanc (OB/GYN) at Hanabusa IVF?
I recently started working with Dr. LeBlanc as I changed clinics after multiple failed IVF transfers. I had 4 consultations with other clinics and I knew Dr. LeBlanc was the right doctor for me when I had our consultation. She went over all of our records and came up with a plan of care. She gave me honest answers and she truly believed she could help us. She gave us hope and restored our confidence in this difficult process. She is compassionate and knowledgeable and I am grateful for her and her team.
What's one piece of advice would you give a prospective patient of Diana LeBlanc (OB/GYN) at Hanabusa IVF?
I would advise the patient to do their research and make sure you feel comfortable with the RE you choose. I loved how personable and caring Dr. LeBlanc made me feel. She truly makes me feel like we are a team and in this together instead of just a patient.
During treatment, were you treated like a number or a human with Diana LeBlanc (OB/GYN) at Hanabusa IVF?
Dr. LeBlanc and her team has really worked with me and my husband to make sure I feel like we are a top priority as a patient. Her and her nurses are always so kind and have gone above and beyond to help make sure I can still be seen even with my rigorous work schedule. Her and the nurses are always very responsive if I have a question. I am always able to speak with someone when I need to.
Describe the protocols Diana LeBlanc (OB/GYN) used in your cycles at Hanabusa IVF and their degree of success.
So far I have only had one natural cycle in order to have the receptiva test performed. I am currently in prep phase taking estrogen and vaginal progesterone to suppress my ovaries as last cycle my ovaries already recruited a dominant follicle at cycle day 3 which would not be optimal for an egg retrieval

Describe your experience with Hanabusa IVF.
I am a fairly new patient. I think their strengths are that the doctors and nurses really treat you as an individual and coordinate your care based on how your body reacts to medications or other treatments. You are not a number and are not on a general protocol that all patients are on. Your treatment is designed for you, which is extremely important in this process. Their billing system is a strength and weakness, it is pay as you go a la carte billing. You pay for services as you get them, there are no packages. So, you can feel this is either helpful that you are not paying for anything that you don't necessarily need or some may find this frustrating that you have to pay at every visit. In addition, because this clinic is very tailored to your results, sometimes there is not a lot of time to get the medications that are needed, but they always help to make it work for you.

They did a a good job communicating and the doctor was very thorough in explaining things to/help to guide me. I felt confident that this clinic would be a good fit for me. It is nice to speak to a doctor that understand DOR and knows how to work with patients that have this. The clinic was fast to respond and receptive to my needs. I am hoping I will be able to move forward with them in the near future to go through a few rounds of egg freezing. I also felt like their rates were reasonable compared to other clinics.

Describe your experience with Hanabusa IVF.
