Dr Cardozo is extremely compassionate while also being very upfront about the reality of your situation. ... she’s still very connected to my care and the door is always open for when we’re financially ready to explore our options. She is great at both educating and caring. ... I was put on RHT and all options were described to me with their benefits and risks described in great detail.
Very clean, bright and organized. The new patient coordinator [at Women & Infants Hospital] is a real peach and will go out of her way to help you coordinate your care with your insurance. There is a bit of a wait to get in to the initial appointment, but it’s so worth it because even just the first appointment is SO thorough. The sub offices behind the waiting room can be a little overwhelming, but the private rooms are calm and clean. Only negative thing is that it always seemed so hot in there, but I’d imagine that’s for all of the patients undergoing exams and tests. Highly, highly recommend waiting to get into this office.
How was your experience with Eden Cardozo at Women & Infants Hospital?
Dr Cardozo is extremely compassionate while also being very upfront about the reality of your situation. I’ve heard multiple success stories of friends under her care and although that’s not an option for me right now, she’s still very connected to my care and the door is always open for when we’re financially ready to explore our options. She is great at both educating and caring.

Our first appointment was so lovely. Everything was presented in a way that felt comfortable to us and everything was explained in great detail. We were able to be under the care of two people during our initial consultation. Both of the doctors took their time with us and answered every question and heard every concern we had.

Describe the costs associated with your care under Eden Cardozo at Women & Infants Hospital.
The consultation [with Dr. Cardozo] went well. Everything was described and all our questions were answered. I was disappointed that that was the only time I saw her, even though she was managing my treatments. Would have liked to seen her do the IUI or be able to talk with her more...I would have liked to been more involved in the process as far as the timing went. I think the IUI should have been a day earlier...
[Women & Infants Hospital] Strengths for us was location, cleanliness and scheduling. The staff was all very helpful and approachable as well. Weakness is every appointment I went to I met someone new. I would have liked one coordinator. And the nurse and I both thought the IUI would be a Friday and when I got the call it was the Saturday. Would have liked better communication with the doctor....

We started with clomid, the lowest dose and then a trigger shot. It was explained to us that the first IUI had a low probability of working, however I would have liked to been more involved in the process as far as the timing went. I think the IUI should have been a day earlier.

Describe the specific things that went wrong at Women & Infants Hospital.
Only issues was information given by front desk in regards to my partners sperm collection regimen.
[Dr. Eden Cardozo's] honest and truthful in a way I’ve never seen before...In the process of starting a fresh cycle using donor sperm...She is amazing. She has called me after hours late on a week night to check in. Not only is she amazing in person, but I couldn’t believe she called me too...I got placed with her since Frishman is out on leave. I have requested to stay with her even when he comes back from leave. I could see Dr Cardozo being a friend even after this whole process.
The financial dept [at Women & Infants Hospital] needs some help. I haven’t spoken to the same person there since I’ve been with the practice for a year. They are always loosing people. Every person I have worked with overall has been wonderful of our situation and helped in any way they could...Every single one of them [nurses] is wonderful...In the process of starting a fresh cycle using donor sperm. Genetic testing isn’t covered with insurance with my husbands translocation. That was going to be an extra $6k and not sure the results would be favorable.

Describe Eden Cardozo's approach to eSET (elective single embryo transfer) vs. multiple embryo transfer at Women & Infants Hospital.
So far I have been very happy with [Dr. Cardozo]. She is honest and gets to the point, but still explains everything thoroughly. I feel comfortable with our plan going forward. She has given me scenarios if we need to adjust anything, so that is comforting.... Thorough testing and proactive treatment to increase odds, such as thyroid treatment to optimize my levels, and discussing what tests may be covered by insurance or not, and how valuable they are.
They [Women's & Infants Hospital] run on time and have convenient hours, and are open 7 days a week! They are open with pricing and if you do your research on your insurance, you shouldn’t have surprises. I love my doctor, and the clinic coordinates things very well!... I had a couple instances where they were confused and called me up accidentally, looking for a different patient. Otherwise, they are timely and helpful.

Standard copay for office visit. Haven’t done treatment yet but IUI is less than $300
I thought she [Dr. Cardozo] was very upfront and honest. I understood every step of the process well... Although we never had a fresh transfer, I believe the route we took with the frozen transfer is why we are now expecting a little boy in august...Cardoza took the time to explain the process thoroughly. Also when I was at risk of OHSS she called me and discussed the best option to freeze all embryos...Antagonist IVF protocol...you discuss all aspects with your doctor
Ease of contacting them and the clinic [Women and Infants] contacting you back was helpful. I think overall the clinic was very well run...during IVF there really is no planning but when you discuss all aspects with your doctor you can figure out an ideal start time for treatment, although certain factors may change that timeline in the end you just have to trust your doctor...The majority of the nursing staff was very compassionate and caring...the nurses were great and helped me feel more confident during the process.

They recommended single embryo xfer which we believed was best for us as well
She [Dr. Cardozo] was kind and payed attention to my unique desires and situation. She generally took her time to explain everything. More frequent and direct contact during cycles would have been more helpful in order to make adjustments in planning and to understand what was going on...She provided an option that spoke to my goals, however, she changed the plan without full explanation.
This [Women & Infants Hospital] clinic is too busy and it's systems are inefficient and ineffective in providing timely and accurate communication. This is a big clinic so they have monitoring and blood work available daily and during fairly convenient times...[clinic error] I recieved conflicting information regarding using an at home ovulation predictor kit and we may have missed a cycle due to this

Sue McPherson and other nurses were condescending and inconsiderate regarding my age and plan. The system to contact nurses is a major barrier to timely and accurate information. I frequently got conflicting information from different nurses. There were times that some nurses were helpful and considerate as well.

Some of these challenges I heard from others. Their system of passing along information is flawed and difficult to use. I recieved conflicting information regarding using an at home ovulation predictor kit and we may have missed a cycle due to this. I did not receive information regarding what may have been happening in my cycles so I could make an educated decision regarding my plan.
