Success w/ Doc Too early to know
Dr Puscheck seems knowledgeable about her field. We are just starting our first IVF cycle after three failed IUIs, so I imagine I will have a stronger opinion as we go through that process. She always answered any questions I had and I never felt rushed...Our initial consult felt like just a number. Unfortunately [she] had not had a chance to review our files (we did the initial work up through my OBGYN office), but subsequent appointments have been better.
If you’re able, go to one of the satellite offices [of Invia Fertility Specialists]. The main office in Hoffman Estates is often quite busy. Don’t be shy about asking questions. The nurses sometimes seem to forget that we’re all new at this, even though they’re experts. Initial doctor consults feel very generic, but maybe that’s to be expected...The nurses were all generally kind...Dr Puscheck seems knowledgeable about her field.

What's one piece of advice would you give a prospective patient of Elizabeth Puscheck at InVia Fertility Specialists?
Ask questions.
During treatment, were you treated like a number or a human with Elizabeth Puscheck at InVia Fertility Specialists?
Our initial consult felt like just a number. Unfortunately the doctor had not had a chance to review our files (we did the initial work up through my OBGYN office), but subsequent appointments have been better.
Describe the protocols Elizabeth Puscheck used in your cycles at InVia Fertility Specialists and their degree of success.
Insurance required three IUIs before moving to IVF. We did 5mg of Letrozole cycle days 5-9. The first IUI cycle was fully monitored. Following cycles were semi-monitored (waiting for a surge on OPK). Nurses performed the actual insemination. For our first egg retrieval we are going to prime with estrogen and then use follistim and Menopur to start.
Describe your experience with the nursing staff at InVia Fertility Specialists.
The nurses were all generally kind. One improvement could be remembering that this is completely foreign to new patients. I think sometimes they assumed patients would have googled or known as much as they did.

Describe the costs associated with your care under Elizabeth Puscheck at InVia Fertility Specialists.
I am very fortunate to have excellent insurance coverage. I believe I’ve paid about $100 in visit co-pays and medication co-pays. Our biggest out of pocket expense will likely be the PGS testing.

She [Dr. Puscheck] was fine, but I wish she would have explained my chances of getting pregnant a bit more. Everything seemed wishy-washy...Do your homework. Be prepared to pay a lot of money...
They [nurses at Wayne State - Southfield] were very good, but displayed frustration with my questions....They called in a prescription, but forgot to order sharps so that I could administer the medication myself on a weekend day...It [cost] was a lot. My insurance covered nothing...
