My wife and I went to Kindbody, which was VIOS when we started service. Throughout the process, they were difficult to work with and challenging to understand regarding process timing and costs. During our experience with Kindbody, we found out that many of the coordinators and nursing staff had left for other places, making it difficult to maintain consistency within the practice. Since completing services with Kindbody, we have been working to secure a refund for services not rendered. After numerous attempts to obtain information, we were told that it was always someone else's job and that they would get back to us. However, each time, there was never anyone who reached back out. We have been struggling to get a refund that exceeds $12,000 for over 5 months. It was already a nervous and stressful time for my wife and I. There are choices that can be made for fertility clinics, and I would caution anyone from working with Kindbody Milwaukee. This is truly a poorly managed operation, and we often found them to be short and rude. PLEASE, PLEASE, PLEASE, if you have options, DO NOT choose Kindbody during this stressful, yet hopeful journey.

I would always encourage anyone looking for medical treatment to become an informed participant in their own care. In doing so, you will understand why Dr. Hayes is such a good option and someone that you would want in your corner for such an important medical concern.

Dr. Hayes and her team always referred to me by my name, the information they relayed was pertinent to my case and you could tell that they were familiar with my medical history and current treatment plan each time I spoke to them.

Every person is different when it comes to treatment approaches, what works for one person might not be the right fit for another.

The nursing staff was amazing! As a nurse myself I hold my peer group to high standards when it comes to providing excellent care. The nurses were well informed of my specific case as well as educated and knowledgeable about fertility treatment and clinic processes. They were always timely in their online message responses. I really do believe they enjoyed their job and you could tell by how they conducted themselves at work.

Describe your experience with Kindbody - Milwaukee.

I have almost all positive things to say about the clinic, the care I received was great, and ultimately my goal of having a baby was achieved. The only two critiques I have, would be that the website was not necessarily user friendly at first and the initial contact with Vios (Kindbody) was complicated. With that said, I will point out that the company I started working with (Vios) integrated with Kindbody during the time I was receiving care and some of the struggle, I’m sure was attributed to the merging of the two companies. The new website is easy to use and since then, I have not had any issues.

This was my first experience using a fertility doctor. I never was actually able to meet Dr. Hayes in person. I had one zoom call with her and she seemed a little aloof. I did not receive any more info than I already knew, granted it was the initial consult and both me and my partner are physicians. I did decide to go forth with diagnostic testing (as did my partner). in the weeks to follow, I never received further correspondence with Ellen Hayes. Her nurse did another zoom call with me in which I was basically told that my numbers show that there was "change occurring" and that it may show some "signs of age." I found myself reading REI journals on my own time and stressing. She did not answer any questions I had. Later when my IUD was removed after I decided to leave Kindbody, I told my Gyn my AMH level and she said that it was good! and that AMH of 2 at my age of 36 is not horrible like Kindbody suggested to me. I felt lied to and felt in the dark with a lot of information.

I got diagnostic lab testing and transvaginal ultrasounds. I was briefly placed on oral contraceptives.

Bad at drawing blood even when the vein is massive. Was told that my BP reading of 125 systolic was high and need to see my primary even though that is not the definition of hypertension and my anxiety was through the roof at the time.

My experience with Ellen Hayes was wonderful! She is a great doctor that is great at her job. Her character is full of positivity and she brings great passion when you meet her in person. My spouse and I were very excited that we were able to have a doctor that was very empathizing and did not push us to do things that we may have felt uncomfortable in doing.

Although the clinic [Kindbody] is small, it's cozy, tidy and neat. Strengths of the clinic is that they are attentive to their patients when working one-on-one. The weaknesses of the clinic is that there is usually just one staff admin at the desk so the wait time may be longer than expected. Overall, the clinic is great!

Ellen Hayes is wonderful; as long as you keep and open communication and open mind, she would be a perfect fit for you.

Dr Hayes was very informative on the steps that we needed to take to come out of this journey successfully. She was hands on and when we first met her at our consultation she was very warming and full of empathy in our process and why we are seeking fertility treatment. When I met her in person for my ultrasound exam, she was hands on and was full of positivity that I really enjoyed her company as it made me have hope in our journey.

Describe the protocols Ellen Hayes used in your cycles at Kindbody - Milwaukee and their degree of success.

We are just over the hump of all the testing and results and are currently heading into the next treatment phase of IVF shots. Dr. Hayes was very informative on what my spouse and I needed to do in order to come out of this successfully and help us be in a better position. In the end result, Dr. Hayes recommended IVF for our treatment as my husband had male infertility. She also encouraged us to talk to the male fertility specialist and get their input to have a better understanding. Throughout the process Dr. Hayes stayed on top of our journey and made sure we were on the right track.

Describe your experience with your nurse at Kindbody - Milwaukee. (Assigned nurse: Lindsay)

Our nurse, Lindsay, has been wonderful! She is very communicative to us and very responsive, which I love! She is able to provide us the information that we need and also give us the flexibility of outside order testing since we lived 2 hours a way from clinic. She has been great and I'm very glad that we are working with such a wonderful staff!

If you don't have insurance then it could get pricey for all the consultation, ultrasound etc. I did not have insurance when we first started, so I had to pay out of pocket of $350 for our 30 min. consultation with Dr. Hayes. Afterwards we had to do the semen analysis and ultrasound plus genetic testing which total up to be around $750.00. My spouse had to go back for another semen analysis which was another $175.00 cost. All our outside order testing such as blood drawn were around the ball park of $50-120.00 per test. Currently right now my prescriptions meds are covered such as birth control pills. We are heading into the next stage of the IVF journey and for the package that we have chosen is the IVF Advantage package, I believe, which is at $15,800.00 that includes the treatment and monitoring but unfortunately does not cover the IVF shots/medications- which can range from $6,000-8,000.00.

I would highly encourage anyone and everyone to speak with their insurance company directly to seek out any possible infertility coverage and do their research beforehand. Being blind-sided by the unforgiving costs of infertility is just as, if not more, stressful than going through fertility treatment.

Vios Milwaukee is a beautiful office in an accessible location. They use the most up to date technology. Since there are multiple locations in different states, the doctors are able to meet and discuss the hard cases and new techniques. The only con is you have to travel down to the Chicago location for any surgery type procedures...They [nurses] are all very compassionate and respond to my portal messages in a timely matter...

She knows what she is talking about. She does a lot of research and meets with other Vios doctors often to discuss certain cases. She leaves no stone unturned. She wants us to get pregnant just as much as we do. She is invested in our success.

I feel like Dr. Hayes cares about me and my husband on personal level. She is always looking into new treatments and techniques to help us achieve a pregnancy. I have PCOS and poor egg quality, so getting viable embryos for us is difficult and she hasn't given up on us.

Describe the protocols Ellen Hayes used in your cycles at Kindbody - Milwaukee and their degree of success.

As I mentioned, I have PCOS and poor egg quality, so we have tried many different treatments and protocols. -Duostim (luteal phase stimulation), Vios recently started doing duostim and have had some early success. We got more eggs, better fertilization, but similar embryo results (2). -IVM (in-vitro maturation), a newer technique used to mature immature eggs outside of the body (these eggs would normally be discarded). We had 7 immature eggs, 6 were matured with IVM, 6 were successfully fertilized (great results for us), but sadly none of the 6 made it to blast (2 were close). -Violet/Magenta (egg quality test), this is also new technology that evaluates egg quality by using photos, we confirmed that my egg quality was poor using this. -RPL Panel (recurrent pregnancy loss), we did this test after my second transfer and I tested negative for everything. -We've done other testing as well. Dr. Hayes really leaves no stone unturned.

The nurses at Vios are great. Lindsay is typically the nurse that works with me, but I have also worked with Kelsey and Molly. They are all very compassionate and respond to my portal messages in a timely matter.

Vios Milwaukee is a beautiful office in an accessible location. They use the most up to date technology. Since there are multiple locations in different states, the doctors are able to meet and discuss the hard cases and new techniques. The only con is you have to travel down to the Chicago location for any surgery type procedures.

Describe your experience with your monitoring appointments at Kindbody - Milwaukee.

I was typically always able to schedule monitor appointments early in the morning before work.

$16,000-$20,000 per IVF cycle with meds and additional testing. Our insurance only covered some of the diagnostics. I believe the IUI was $1,500 plus meds.

Dr. Hayes typically recommends transferring one embryo if it is PGT normal. We transferred one PGT normal embryo with our first transfer and it did not implant. She did allow me to transfer 2 embryos with our second transfer after listening to my reasoning. We transferred a PGT normal embryo with an undetermined embryo for our second transfer, one implanted, but was a blighted ovum and resulted in a miscarriage.

Strengths [of Vios Fertility Institute] are cost, openess to who they treat, etc. Other benefits are the information on their website such as fertility grants and funding. Other benefits are the vitamins and prenatals they offer on their store...They offered various packages for treatments, willing to customize packages based on needs...[nurses were] Gentle when drawing blood. Knowledgable. Talked through sectaries rather then directly.

I felt like a human because they answered all my questions. The reason I gave a four out five was because after asking lots of questions they started to want to communicate less, preferring to give their time to patients who were undergoing treatment.

Treatment strategies were going to wait to see what we should do. Possibly IVF or timed intercourse.

Realizing you have fertility issues is a blow. But the ladies at Vios made me feel comfortable and cared for. Having gone through 3 rounds of IVF, I felt extra comfortable with them all and grew quite fond of them and my time there!

Strengths: Kind, caring staff! Beautiful office! Educated doctors! Weakness: must travel to Chicago for long procedures, some communication mix ups from time to time. Our overall experience at Vios was a good one, although we are still praying for a baby. We went through 3 rounds of IVF without making a viable embryo. Although we did not achieve the results we hoped for, I would not discourage someone from pursuing their treatment here. Everyone’s journey is different and we are still hopeful one day we will be blessed with a child!

[Vios Fertility Institute - Milwaukee] uses a patient portal for all communication. they are very quick with responding and are thorough with their answers. they are also available by phone if you need to speak to them right away. GREAT STAFF...They are very compassionate and there to answer any questions you have. VIOS listens and is there for you every step of the way. Dr. Ellen Hayes is my third RE, but my fourth fertility doctor. I am at a point where I just want answers and do not want the run around anymore. When we met with Dr. Hayes in March, she was extremely thorough on her thoughts and concerns about my past treatment. She knew what needed to be done and she wanted to get started right away. She was compassionate and understanding of our hesitations. She answered all the questions I had and was not pushy.

My husband and I have been struggling with infertility for 2.5 years. I have had 3 chemical pregnancies and 1 MMC at 9 weeks. We have had multiples failed medicated cycles (resulting in two chemical pregnancies and my MMC), 2 failed IUIs, and a failed IVF round resulting in one of my chemicals. At first, I saw a fertility specialist where I had my IUIs, then after those failed, I saw a Reproductive Endocrinologist who performed my IVF round. During my IVF treatment, I did not feel like I was treated like a person, so I moved onto another RE within that clinic. I worked with him for 1 year and we still had no answers. I came across Dr. Hayes and read outstanding reviews about VIOS and Dr. Hayes. My husband I met with her and felt an instant connection. We went over my history and she had all the answers. She did not questions us, but let me ask everything single question I had, and she did not cut our consult short. She recommended genetic screening, which I had asked for for with other doctors but they refused. She was very thorough on what needed to be done. She wondered why certain repeat labs and procedures were not done to make sure an infection was definitely gone, and she knew what protocol needed to be done if and when we were going to do IVF again. Dr. Hayes was amazing. I wish I knew of VIOS before I started this journey. I would recommend them to anyone!

I felt to compared to everyone else. She did however confirm my suspicions that my egg quality was not the greatest...The embryos that did make it to day 5 were not graded the best so they would not transfer them even though i wanted to.

It just seemed like I was being treated like every other patient. when everyone has different circumstances and outcomes.

I don't remember the exact protocol but i was on 450iu of Gonal-g and 150 of Menopur. I was also on Omnitrope and triggered with HCG. The results were still poor egg quality even though on Omnitrope. The embryos that did make it to day 5 were not graded the best so they would not transfer them even though i wanted to.

They were very good at calling back in a timely manner. But they sometimes got their info confused with a cancelled cycle and which doctor changed things.

[Kindbody - Milwaukee] Clean and inviting environment. The location is a little intimidating because it is downtown but not hard to find. The staff is always there to help with anything you need. Always able to answer questions...They were there to help explain. They actually held my hand during one of the procedures.

I liked her [Dr. Ellen Hayes] as a doctor, but the clinic was wrong for me. I cried a lot in when I was undergoing treatment and she was understanding, but they didn't want to do the treatments I wanted...very warm and compassionate, she's the reason I eventually got diagnosed with Endo...I would only recommend her if she left the clinic.

The clinic [VIOS Fertility Institute] is out to make money, you are a paycheck end of story, it's very plush but I felt like they preyed on desperate people. I wouldn't recommend them. They also sorta falsely represented their location in Johnson Creek...They [nursing staff] were unmemorable... it was expensive almost twice other clinics...I would only recommend her [Dr. Hayes] if she left the clinic.
