Eric Flisser

Eric Flisser was very knowledgeable about my particular issue and took a lot of time to explain it to me and come up with a treatment plan that took into account my age, what I was up against and the number of children I want.

To see him.

Dr. Flisser put me on a protocol that would produce enough eggs so that we could pgs test them, but not one that would get me anywhere near hyperstimulating. The rational was that because of my translocation we needed the maximum number of eggs possible so that many embryos could be tested. He made a plan to bank some embryos while I continued to try naturally on my own.

Because my embryos were pgs tested we only transferred one at a time.

Dr. Flisser was very informative. He was clear about the process and timing of the procedures. At one point I spoke to another doctor for.a second opinion and when I went back to Dr. Flisser to discuss additional ideas he was open to changing some of the plans. He explained risks and gave statistics when asked.

I think you just always need to be prepared to ask questions. Dr. Flisser was thorough and informative. You need to proactively make appointments when you want to regroup and discuss options ptherwise all communication was with the staff.

It was efficient. The wait varied by morning but was always reasonable.

Dr. Flisser only recommended single transfers during my treatment.

Dr. Flisser is very knowledgeable about his field and he is ready to respond during an office visit. Unfortunately i did not get pregnant and he never really adjusted the protocol after several failed transfers. Also, it was not possible to contact him directly, i always had to go through the nurses which made things very frustrating.

If you do not get pregnant after a couple of IVFs either change doctor or change clinics.

All my IVFs were with an antagonist protocol and although i had several embryos i had several failed IVFs and one miscarriage.

When i would go to the monitoring in Garden City there was not a lot of wait but in the weekend that office is closed so i had to go to NYC. The wait could be anywhere from 1 to 1.5 hours.

It is hard to be a fertility patient. Especially if you have to keep coming back month after month after month. Dr Flisser always made me feel like I had options and that he would help us achieve our goals. He is kind and nurturing and really makes the effort to personally connect with you. Excellent bedside manner and I trusted him completely. I would never go to any other dr for my fertility.

Just be honest with him and ask any questions you have. He will answer everything.

For my first child we went right to IVF because that was or only option after cloned didn't work. Luckily it worked on the first round. For my second time around Most recently we used letrozole 25 mg to help me ovulate and when that wasn't enough we went to IUI with the letrozole. Took 5 rounds to see a positive result.

Do not recall

I believe I got pregnant because of Dr Flisser. He understood the situation and didn't follow normal protocols because our situation wasn't normal and this is why we were successful. He was very patient when I asked questions and always very kind.

You might have to be flexible and go to NYC and see other doctors but they are all great. Dr Flisser tries to see you whenever possible and always knows what is going on when you are with the other doctors in the practice.

After 4 unsuccessful IVF, we thought we had one more try. We had 5 good quality embryos and even though I was only 34 years old, Dr Flisser agreed to putting all 5 in. This lead to my daughter. He knew the history of egg quality and even though some doctors would only put in standard 2, he wanted to give us the best chance of success.

The Long Island office was small - I rarely had to wait more than 5 minutes. When I had to go to NYC the wait was much longer.

Approx $8500 a cycle

We only did a consultation and ended up going somewhere else because we wanted a doctor with stronger bed side manner. However, he did answer all of our endless questions and was very blunt so I knew if I went with him he would not have sugarcoated anything.

If you’re looking for bluntness and don’t care as much about bedside manner, he is for you.

We only went to him for a consultation. He did say we would have to be aggressive. I only had a few follicles.

My insurance covered it fully.

Said he preferred single. Also said that they would not transfer mosaic but you could ship them to someone else outside their clinic to do it if you wanted.

Dr Flisser was concise with my treatment plan and presented me with a realistic expectations. I had questions along the way which he addressed with patience and understanding. Overall, I felt very comfortable with him as a patient, and would return to him for my next pregnancy without hesitation.

Doctor Flisser walked me through every step carefully and with sympathy. I always got a response right away whenever I had a question, even off hours. He gave me options instead of pushing me to follow something specific. When our first retrieval did not have healthy embryos he called me personally and explained what had happened. He also made adjustments to my next cycle. I will definitely recommend him.

Have all questions ready before appointment.

Health insurance covered most of my cycle

He is a great doctor, he made me feel at ease each time I saw him. He was always willing to answer all my questions and address any concerns I had. Dr. Flisser is friendly and i am happy i entrusted him and his team with my care.

Be open minded and you are in great hands, if not the best hands..

He used Gonal-F and Ovidrel. We had 2 failed cycles with rest in between the cycles because of persisting ovarian cysts. Glory to God we had a positive pregnancy test on the 3rd cycle

It was covered by insurance except the copay.

I felt he was pretty blunt and realistic about our chances. He asked questions about what we wanted our family to be and how many children we wanted. He pushed for IVF early on because we knew we wanted at least 2 kids and didn't want us to waste time on a bunch of clomid or IUI cycles, but was fine with our decision to give it a try anyway.

Be very clear about what you want, and ask specific questions. You'll get specific answers.

It was always extremely busy, but I was always seen pretty quickly- within an hour of arrival.

Dr. Flisser is a pro. He knows the research inside and out, has a ton of experience, and has a refreshing no-BS data-driven approach. My husband and I felt like we could trust him 100% and were covered with the clear plan that he custom created for us and our family planning needs. While other doctors waffled, Dr. Flisser very clearly diagnosed my likely PCOS situation which provided clarity around what was getting in the way of our fertility journey and what would be the best solution — IVF. When we had to do a retrieval during the Thanksgiving break, Dr. Flisser suggested that we work with a colleague where we were traveling to — in LA. With his creative solutioning, we were able to keep moving quickly on our fertility journey without sacrificing time with our family over the holidays. This was truly above and beyond in a way I haven’t experienced with other physicians. RMA does take on a TON of patients so time with doctors in general is limited. Be prepared with questions before each appointment, build a great relationship with the nurses and other staff who are there to support you and are a bit more available, and trust the experts here. With Dr. Flisser’s team you’ll be in great hands! After 2-3+ years of infertility including one miscarriage, Dr. Flisser helped us get pregnant — a miracle that was starting to feel like an impossibility after our long, torturous journey. We were happily discharged and “graduated” from his practice just a few months ago and are currently 26 weeks pregnant. Sending good luck to all those on similar journeys.

Trust him and ask him any questions you have! He will answer them. Also rely on the nurses -- they're your go-to for inbetween questions.

A decently well-oiled cattle call line with a ton of flexibility but also potentially long wait times. I was never seen at the time of my appointment.

2 cycles totaled about $35K, one we did cross-country

I am so grateful for Dr. Flisser and would recommend him to anyone who is having trouble conceiving. He was recommended to me by my gynecologist. My husband and I were feeling frustrated after having unsuccessfully been trying for a baby for about a year. Dr. Flisser immediately reassured us that we were not alone and that this was a common situation for many. He backed every statement with scientific evidence which helped us to trust him tremendously. While I did not see Dr. Flisser at every appointment, he advised every treatment. The other doctors in the practice were very friendly and knowledgeable so it was never a concern for me. When I had an ectopic pregnancy after my 2nd IUI treatment, Dr. Flisser helped me get through the painful experience and advised that IVF would be the safest next step. Luckily, I took his advice and I am now 9 weeks pregnant, all thanks for Dr. Flisser!

My insurance covered 80% of the treatments, so costs were reasonable.

He was amazing, knowledgeable and empathic. I couldn’t be more grateful for his approach. From the moment I met him, I know that I was in good hands and all I could think was why didn’t I come and see him sooner? I’d put off fertility treatment for a while because I was just so nervous. Without Dr Flisser, I’m not sure that I would have got this far.

Go now! Don’t put it off. It’s crazy that as women, we aren’t educated more about our bodies and most importantly how hard it is to actually get pregnant. Best to go sooner, learn about your body, learn about all of the elements that have to be just right for you to get pregnant. It’s much harder than we are led to believe. Armed with a great doctor and knowledge, I felt so much better about everything and I truly believe that had a big impact on me getting pregnant.

We did one clomid cycle and magically it worked first time. He explained we would do this 3 times and he didn’t speak too much about what would happen after that and frankly that made me way more hopeful vs him giving me a long list of what would come next if the other ways failed.

I had most of it covered on my health insurance but have a few more bills expected to come. Without knowing the cost overall or having a comp analysis of other hospitals I couldn’t say anything further.

Dr. Flisser was the first specialist I saw and had great success. I had a consultation with him in October, and am now pregnant with twins. I found out over Thanksgiving weekend, so was successful on our first try! I always knew that I had a mild form of PCOS (multiple follicles on each ovary, irregular periods, and anovulatory cycles). So, after a few short months off of birth control I knew I needed to see a specialist. Dr. Flisser met with my husband and I, and explained that we'll first take the most basic approach since he assured us that there was no need to be invasive, which I greatly appreciated as I did not feel that was necessary either. He also had absolutely no judgements since most specialists say you need to wait a year of trying, but he knew there was no point in that for a patient with PCOS. After hormone blood tests, an ultrasound, and a semen analysis, Dr. Flisser provided a recommendation to take Letrozole, a trigger shot, and timed IUI. The process was beyond easy to say the least as the office is extremely organized and communicative. Dr. Flisser was amazing, got us through the process, always picked up the phone to listen to any concerns, and was so excited when we heard the first two little heartbeats at just 6 weeks! He has such a calming personality, and we are so lucky to have found a doctor like him! We are so thankful for Dr. Flisser, and would recommend him to anyone trying to start a family. He is your guy! Run - don't walk!

Voice all of your concerns. I guarantee he'll be able to help you through them.

I took Letrozole cycle day 3-7 (5mg at night). Day 13 had an ultrasound and found 2 big follicles on each ovary (20 MM), and did an Ovidrel trigger shot. Day 14 did the IUI.

I would say this, out of the 6 clinics I have been to, Dr. Flisser has been the most reliable, organized and trustworthy doctor. He made me feel at ease with my procedure. He is very knowledgeable in his work, his bedside manners were great and his empathy for his patients is amazing. He made sure that when I left to continue with my obstetrician I was in the right hands.

Please be open to his suggestions and recommendations.

We had 1 IVF with, egg retrieval and 1 transfer. The medications prescribed included: Gonal F, Menopur, Cetrotide, Lupron, HCG, Estrace, Medrol and progesterone in oil.

Dr. Flisser was great from the beginning to the end of the process! I came to see him after I already had a consultation with another fertility doctor. In that prior appointment , I felt very rushed to make the decision and pay the money. When I came to see Dr. Flisser, he explained the process in detail, made sure that all the right testing was done, and everything was checked before we even started talking about cycles. He was very diligent, compassionate, attentive, and knowledgeable. He has great bedside manners!

Trust the process!

Wonderful doctor who truly cares for his patients wellbeing. He understand how much we want to build our gmail it and he does everything he can to make it happen. Very compassionate and caring person and it’s a pleasure to have him as our doctor.

I couldn’t always go during monitoring hours and the clinic was pretty accommodating with the times that worked for me.

I felt very comfortable under Dr. Flisser’s care. He was always clear, efficient, friendly and patient. He answered any and all questions I had and put me at ease whenever I was nervous. He performed my transfer and explained the whole procedure to me beforehand and walked me through it. I felt very comfortable and confident.

See if it’s possible for him to do your retrieval, too.

I loved that the monitoring hours started so early (at 7am) because I was able to go without being late for work. My recommendation would be to get there early! The earlier you arrive, the less time you have to wait. As it gets closer to the middle to end of the monitoring hours window, there tends to be more people.

Dr. Flisser is very academic in nature and therefore is able to explain things in a very scientific and clear manner. I felt during the course of treatment that he didn't always address all of my concerns as quickly as I would have liked. I usually had to push to add new hormones or try new things after repeated failed IUIs. Dr. Flisser is a very kind and warm person with a gentle bedside manner.

Dr. Flisser knows what he is doing and in the end was probably correct in his course of treatment however, I would have appreciated a little more understanding/compassion when I was feeling anxious, confused, etc.

I did about 5 rounds of letrozole with Dr. Flisser, and 4/5 resulted in a chemical pregnancy. After each round, Dr. Flisser explained why this might be happening, and gave me options from there. He has a great way of explaining things using analogies and concepts that a non doctor can easily understand. I was trying to avoid IVF (cost, time, etc) and I never felt forced into it. After many conversations with Dr. Flisser, and when my partner and I were ready, we made the decision to proceed with IVF. I only saw Dr. Flisser on some of the monitoring visits, but any procedure or appointment that could be planned ahead of time - he was the doctor I saw. I ended up needed a small surgery before I could proceed with the embryo transfer and he did the surgery for me. He also did my embryo transfer. After successfully getting pregnant, I had some light bleeding (it ended up being nothing) and I called the office to see if I could come in, and Dr. Flisser made sure to see me even though it was outside of monitoring hours. I have nothing but wonderful things to say about him!!

Be your own advocate. If you’re worried about something or have a question - always ask! Don’t be afraid to call the office with even the slightest concern. Keep on top of your meds if you’re doing IVF. No one will remind you to refill them if they’re getting low.

My insurance fully covered my care.

Dr. Flisser is amazing. We had a great experience. Very nice and clear when he explained what the situation was and the options we had. Understanding of how we/I was feeling (considering the 3 previous miscarriages) and always very careful and kind in everything he said. He had his moment of joy when we did the ultrasound and could see something and hear a heartbeat. A genuine moment of joy for us. I told him this, I wish we could just have him as our doctor until the end, because in 11 years of living in New York, I have never had such a great experience with a doctor as I did with Dr. Flisser and RMA in general. I would definitely recommend him and RMA to anyone!

Trust him. Tell him every thought you have, any doubt or question. He will put you at ease and assist you every step of the way. Whether is a small or big issue, just trust him!

First time we decided to give it a try, Dr. Flisser suggested to try with a hormone trigger and then try at home. Our issue is probably mainly that I am not that young and eggs are not as many as I would love to, so he suggested to try naturally with a little kick first and see how it went. We were leaving for the summer so we thought to give it a try like this. It didn't work (which now, going back to the summer we had, maybe it was better it didn't). So when we got back we decided to try with a full IUI, which means a cycle of hormones meds for 4 days after the cycle, then a trigger shot and then IUI. I was always carefully monitored between blood tests and simple chats with the nurses. And it worked!

I had met with a different doctor at a different facility initially and didn't feel like it was a good fit. I received a referral to Dr. Flisser and immediately liked his style. He was a straight shooter, kind, full of knowledge and very patient to share and collaborate. I had read that you could feel like a number at RMA but aside from the scale of the operation and obvious impact of coordinating so many people, I felt supported and comfortable. RMA doesn't guarantee that your doctor will do your retrieval but guarantees that they will do the transfer on their "day of the week". When it was found that I would need to transfer early, Dr. Flisser made himself available to do the transfer for me. That showed me that they go above and beyond. My infertility was unexplained and I don't feel I was a complicated case, but at 40 years old I felt that he took my case seriously and did very well by me and my husband. He even took phone calls to discuss specific risks and concerns that came up for us after viewing all of the risk materials prior to the retrieval.

He was great. I highly recommend him if you are looking to feel heard and important. I like warm and fuzzy doctors, and he wasn't overly fuzzy but definitely warm! He is really helpful if you want to understand everything in full detail. His responses always went above and beyond.

He used a fairly standard one as my case didn't seem too complicated but I don't recall the details.

Every doctor that I saw explained everything and didn't make me feel rushed.

My insurance covered almost all of it. I paid for copays and optional embryo testing. RMA handled all of the billing with Cigna.

I was never offered multiple embryos. I thought it had to do with my age but I am not sure.

I had a great experience with Dr. Flisser at Reproductive Medical Associates of New York. He was professional and very knowledgeable. He gave me plenty of time to ask all of the questions that I had and answered them carefully. I could tell he had experience with a lot of cases by his answers. He was always prepared for my visits and knew all of the background of my situation before seeing me. He made me feel comfortable and confident that I could get pregnant despite my situation. When things didn’t go well with one method, he always had another idea. He was also very honest with me about how long a process could take or how much it could cost. He made this painful process very bearable for me!

Be optimistic about getting pregnant in the long run, but pessimistic about getting pregnant in the short run. (i.e. - don't get your hopes up that each attempt will work, prepare yourself for each one to fail, but know that eventually you will find something that works).

The problem was that I didn't menstruate or ovulate. I seemed to be stuck in the baseline of my cycle. We tried three different rounds of oral medications, but my hormones would not move out of the baseline phase. Next, Dr. Flisser gave me the choice between IUI and IVF. Ultimately my husband and I chose IVF. Our insurance didn't cover either, so we decided we would prefer to get right to IVF rather than spend a lot of time on IUI, which has a lower probability of success, especially because my hormones had been so non-reactive. On my first IVF cycle, I was overstimulated and had to stop treatment. Dr. Flisser expected my reaction to be slow since it had with the oral medication, but turned out I reacted much better to the injectible hormones, too good, actually! My second IVF cycle was successful. They were able to retrieve about 40 eggs which ultimately yielded 11 high quality embryos. After the retrieval, I took progesterone and estrogen to prepare for the transfer. The transfer went well, and now I am pregnant and have just been discharged from RMA :)

Before Covid 19, the monitoring was during monitoring hours. After Covid 19, they set up specific windows. Wait times were MUCH lower after Covid 19.

IVF procedure was about 13,500, anaesthesia another 1500. (Insurance did not cover this). Injectible hormones were about 3,000 all in.

In a some ways, I feel as though Dr. Flisser is part of our family. He helped my husband and I conceive our first son so when it came time to get pregnant again, we did not hesitate to go back to him. Dr. Flisser is the perfect combination of competence and kindness. He does not give false hope and simply provides the facts and the data behind it -- but in a kind and understanding way. For my second pregnancy, we were disappointed when a frozen embryo from our first did not take and then an IVF round didn't work either. Dr. Flisser called personally each time (on the weekend once) to discuss results and always a new course of action to optimize our next round. Not only would I recommend Dr. Flisser to a good friend, I actually have and they also feel similarly about him. I can't recommend him enough. Good luck!

We used a frozen embryo from a round when my older son was conceived. That didn't work so we then did a round of IVF with PGD/PGS not resulting in genetically sound embryo. We then used estrogen to better align the timing of my follicles to be able to mature the eggs at the same rate and that round resulted in one embryo, pregnancy, and birth of my son. So three rounds total.

Dr. Flisser recommended eSET for me.

Dr Flisser is extremely skilled and I always had complete confidence he’d help me reach my goal of having a child, which he did. I am very. Grateful for that. He is also very frank and has no problem being completely honest, even if it’s something you don’t want to hear but you need to hear. He’s compassionate but he’s also very matter of fact, so don’t expect a lot of small talk or joking around with him. If you need that in a doctor he may not be a good fit.

Ask him all the questions. He won’t treat you like you are crazy for asking. He is very receptive to any and all questions even if you think they are weird.

My IVF treatment was his standard of care because I didn’t have any special circumstances. I do not remember specifics unfortunately. For the transfer I know that I took estrogen and PIO injections.

They were hit or miss in terms of wait times. Dr Flisser always saw me if he was in. He made a point to see me for monitoring my pregnancy ultrasounds.

I don’t. Most was covered by my insurance.
