Dr. Meng is absolutely amazing! She has the best bedside manner, positive, and sweet. We look forward to every visit with her. She is smart and informative. Before any procedure, testing, or any prescribed meds., she would walk us through it so we knew what we were expecting. She is always asking me how I'm feeling which is important to me because as you can imagine, my anxiety is off the roof, and emotions are all over as I'm going on this fertility. She reassures me and makes me feel safe while under her care. She would come up with the next game plan when something doesn't work out. She brought HOPE back into our lives and we couldn't thank her enough for all she's done as our doctor.

We had two IVF transfers here. Our first one was a natural IVF cycle. We started with injections (Follistim) for the egg retrieval, we were able to retrieve 30 eggs. We did our retrieval in June, and did our first embryo transfer in August-- which resulted with a negative pregnancy. I was then diagnosed with Endometriosis, so I was on two months treatment of Lupron. After that, I started injecting myself with meds again this time, it was Progesterone in oil and Estradiol to prepare myself for the next transfer. The next IVF transfer was called HRT-FET Embryo Transfer. We did this transfer in January, and now we are 15 weeks pregnant.

I believe the biggest issues with this doctor are her lack of integrity and professionalism. She is not familiar with the PGTM process and failed to inform both parties of the risks associated with having the same positive gene. This also exposes her obvious lack of experience, as it seems she has never handled a case that requires PGTM before. Even more unacceptable is that she concealed her travel schedule before I started the ovulation stimulation. Typically, the stimulation should begin on the second or third day of menstruation, but she rushed me to start the injection on the afternoon of the first day just to fit in with her personal vacation plans. It was several days after the stimulation that I learned of her impending departure. Shockingly, she even left the country on an international flight the very night after retrieving my eggs. During the monitoring process, she also lied to me. The day before egg retrieval, she told me that there were over 20 eggs, but the actual process notes only showed 16. This raises suspicions that there might be issues with her ovulation stimulation protocol, resulting in the reduction of my basal follicles from 33 to just 16 before egg retrieval. This could be due to either ineffective stimulation or premature ovulation. Additionally, when the quantity of medication was incorrect, she blamed the pharmacy for the mistake, shifting responsibility away from herself. In summary, her various actions have demonstrated a lack of professionalism and honesty, which has left me feeling deeply disappointed.

Don't assume that a doctor who speaks Chinese is easier to communicate with. Medical skills are what truly matter.

I recall that although only 16 eggs were retrieved in the end, I unfortunately got OHSS. When I transferred to the second clinic, the doctor there explained to me that the current probability of OHSS is actually very low, less than 1%. However, if add HCG as a trigger, the risk of hyperstimulation is higher.

The price is not cheap, which is the same as that of several large and well-known clinics in California.

Dr. Meng is very attentive to the patient's needs and always patient's best interests first. We discussed treatment options and pro and cons for ICSI and frozen embryos and etc. Dr. Meng's professional knowledge base seems to be up to date. I like the fact she doesn't use phrases like "that's how we do things" but rather explains her recommendations with research findings in the fields. She's never shy to share her two cents even on personal choices (gender selections, when to transfer) and of course professional recommendations on single embryo transfer vs. two. She always greets patients with smiles and a cautiously optimistic attitude. From there I know she's having everything under control and I'm in good hands.

Get your questions prepared and she always welcomes challenging questions. Don't expect the doctor will tell you "yes, you'll be successful no matter what" but rather walk through the specific steps with Dr. Meng that will take you to a better result.

I know I'd do IVF to begin with as I've had consultations and prelim checkups from other clinics. So the treatment strategy was simple for me and just followed instructions when I had my period. I started with Menopur and Gonal-F on CD 3 and minor dosage adjustments with FSH and E2 levels. Since I had PCOS but not severe, Dr. Meng was carefully dosing my medications and closely monitoring my E2 level to not overly stimulate my ovaries. Cetrotide from CD6 and trigger with HCG and Lupron. No surprise no drama and everything went smoothly with egg retrieval. The transfer was also very smooth. I let the clinic know when I had my period and made the appointment to come in for an ultrasound then use letrozole for 5 days to control egg growth (otherwise, with my PCOS condition, eggs are growing slow and/or all over the place).

Professional fee for monitoring and procedures is separate for lab-related fees. Egg retrieval cycle including ICSI, and a set number of PGT testings for all developed blasts is slightly under 20K early 2021, and my Rx was about 3K. The transfer cycle totaled 4K ish including medication.

Dr always recommends one at a time for my case since I have no prior miscarriage or failed transfer. She explained various increased risk factors for multiples and based on my age (not in a huge rush of having many babies), Dr. Meng encouraged me to stay with one and make sure it's PGT tested for better success rate.

Dr. Meng pays close attention to her patients. I had about 5 times V ultrasound and blood test before egg retrieval. Every time after the lab test, she would call me personally to adjust my medicine dosage. She performed the V ultrasound herself to closely monitor the follicle growth. I've never seen any doctor that is so diligent in Orange County area. She answered all my questions whenever I call her or text her on WeChat. I kept talking to her on daily basis, which really helped to ease my anxiety. She would even answer your silly questions that's out of her job scope. She is very generous with her time even though she has a busy schedule. She is special because she cares from the bottom of her heart, she always goes out of her way to help people. I'm 31, I retrieved 10 eggs, 8 fertilized, 6 turned into blastocysts. I'm happy with the result, I think it's largely due to her care and the embryo lab.

Just trust her and ask her anything that would make you feel ease. I used WeChat to talk to her during the process for simple questions. You are welcome to do that, but of course respect her time as well. Also, try to change your diet to low-carb high protein, and exercise a lot before you start this whole journey, not only because that can help with egg quality, but also because you won't be able to exercise for almost a month.

Dr. Meng used Lezetrol to reduce my E2 level. I use menopur 75uint in the morning and ganol F at night, which changes from 100units to 200units. She would basically change my dosage after every lab test, which is almost every other day after day 4. I had my trigger shot on day 10. This varies a lot among patients. That's why you need a doctor that cares.

I found Dr. Meng by friend's recommendation, and I already had several failed cycles with my local doctors. Dr. Meng explained everything and designed my personalized plan.
