Dr. Akerman is always very kind. He always makes sure you understand every step of the treatment you are in. You never feel rushed on the appointments with him, he takes his time with the patient, hear your question and guide you with the best options for your case...Sometimes he runs a bit late from one appointment to another but that's not a real issue for me, that really means he takes his time with each one of his patients.
The [Fertility & IVF Center of Miami] clinic has a wonderful staff, you feel that anyone you talk to is a professional and knows their job. The clinic itself is always spotless, very clean and well maintained...The nurses are one of the biggest assets of this clinic, they are just wonderful, caring and very helpful all the time.
How was your experience with Fernando Akerman at Fertility & IVF Center of Miami?
Dr Akerman is very patient and knowledgeable. A very good listener and highly empathetic. I have been always treated with respect, dignity. Sometimes he runs a bit late from one appointment to another but that's not a real issue for me, that really means he takes his time with each one of his patients.
What's one piece of advice would you give a prospective patient of Fernando Akerman at Fertility & IVF Center of Miami?
Go open minded and listen to his recommendations, ask about everything and he will always explain with lots of details, definitely he is a professional and knows what he is doing.

Dr. Akerman is always very kind. He always makes sure you understand every step of the treatment you are in. You never feel rushed on the appointments with him, he takes his time with the patient, hear your question and guide you with the best options for your case.

We are doing IVF, we are still in the middle of the process, the first step for egg retrieval I was put on Menopour, Gonal and Ganirelix, and couldn't ask for a better outcome of my retrieval. Further steps are yet to come.

The nurses are one of the biggest assets of this clinic, they are just wonderful, caring and very helpful all the time.

The clinic has a wonderful staff, you feel that anyone you talk to is a professional and knows their job. The clinic itself is always spotless, very clean and well maintained. Some areas may need a bit of upgrade since can looks a bit dated but overall super well kept. My first appointment was in the Miami beach facility and that one is even more beautiful, modern and spotless too.

When you do get to see him however, he does not make you feel rushed and is willing to answer all questions...has a lot of years of experience but I am not sure he keeps up with the latest advances in technology and reproductive techniques...I always felt like he has too many patients and is not able to give personalized service for that reason

I had a fibroid that my gyn thought needed to be taken out but Dr. Akerman thought we could at least try and proceed with CC/DI to see if I could get pregnant without a risky surgery first....Dr. Akerman was quite compassionate and gave me a few recommendations for treatment and after thinking over everything I proceeded with one of them.
The nursing staff [Fertility and IVF Center of Miami] was exemplary, showing compassion an making sure I understood the instructions given to me. I believe [costs were] about $1500 for a CC cycle, DS was separate....Dr. Akerman was quite compassionate and gave me a few recommendations for treatment and after thinking over everything I proceeded with one of them.

We only saw him [Dr. Fernando Akerman] one all the work was done by the nurse, we asked to see him again but the denial the request every single time! We tough that he was different to others doctors for being Latino but we were wrong... We used Clomid 50mg 2 per day/ 5 days. Ovidreal and after 1 day or two the nurses made the IUI after 15 min we just could do everything we want... Every one there just treated us like a number we didn’t matter because we were not in ivf
They [Fertility & IVF Ctr of Miami] are good to make money bad in communication and organization. They don’t show humanity and are careless. If you call them would go straight to voicemail. They are clean but the equipment is not updated when we had the first IUI the light wasn’t working I was given light to the nurse trough my phone when se could not fin the cervical neck I went out and complained they fixed it by bring it a lamp light. On the procedure they made me a damaged on my uterus that it’s visible on ultrasound.
