[The staff at Nevada Fertility Center] are well organized and very kind. They are responsible for a large number of patients who are in-cycle, which I think makes it feel like they are stretched a little thin at times. Nevertheless, I have never had an issue getting a response from them. To be noted, the nursing team has had significant turnover and I do not believe any of the nurses who were present when I was treated work there anymore.
How was your experience with Geoffrey Sher at Nevada Fertility Center (Ivy Fertility Network clinic)?
I did 4 retrievals and 1 transfer with Dr. Sher at his Nevada clinic. He was present at every appointment, unfortunately that did not prove out to be a positive for me. It has taken several years for me to come to terms with the fact that I felt violated repeatedly during my pelvic ultrasounds. I've had dozens of pelvic ultrasounds with other doctors and they always stand to my side when inserting the probe. Dr. Sher would sit between my legs, and instead of asking me to "scooch forward a few inches", would grab my hips/butt and pull me toward him. This happened on multiple occasions. When you are going through IVF you're already in such a vulnerable situation, I just ignored it and didn't realize how violating this was until I found a doctor that truly respects my body autonomy and the importance of medical consent.
Another big disappointment came when I realized the published success rates on the CDC site for my age & diagnosis were SIGNIFICANTLY lower than the success rates he quoted for me at our initial consult. Success rates from person-to-person and clinic-to-clinic can be hard to compare, but the lack of consistency was a major red flag. During our initial consult he told me roughly 70% chance of success, on the day of my transfer he told me "50/50 shot" (this transfer of 2 euploid embryos resulted in a chemical pregnancy) - and then the published success rates for my year of treatment indicated roughly 29% live birth rate in my age bracket. This was a major red flag to me.
What's one piece of advice would you give a prospective patient of Geoffrey Sher at Nevada Fertility Center (Ivy Fertility Network clinic)?
I would proceed with caution. He has a very convincing pitch and his ideas around protocols sound good, but ultimately my results were absolutely nothing like what he projected they would be.
During treatment, were you treated like a number or a human with Geoffrey Sher at Nevada Fertility Center (Ivy Fertility Network clinic)?
Things started out really well with Dr. Sher, but eventually did go downhill. I felt incredibly optimistic about him after our first Skype consult. He made me feel really special and important. He continued to be warm and friendly throughout treatment, but after a while I started to lose confidence in the quality of the plan. Dr. Sher gave me his cell phone number and always reminded me I could call any time - I was really heartbroken when I did actually call and he rushed me off the phone telling me to just call the office instead.
Describe the protocols Geoffrey Sher used in your cycles at Nevada Fertility Center (Ivy Fertility Network clinic) and their degree of success.
Dr. Sher had me on the agonist-antagonist conversion protocol for low AMH. It was a very expensive and high dose protocol (starting with 600u of FSH). Since leaving the practice, I have spoken with other physicians and seen research that suggests the doses he used were entirely inappropriate and potentially harmful to my outcome. On this protocol, I had the highest number of mature eggs retrieved that I've had on any other protocol but the lowest number of euploid blastocysts. Getting a lot of eggs is not very helpful when you don't end up with usable embryos in the end.

Describe your experience with Nevada Fertility Center (Ivy Fertility Network clinic).
The clinic is under new management and has a different staff now than when I was treated. I recently went in to sign paperwork and did not recognize a single person working there. One thing I remember (and am not sure if they've changed) is a large whiteboard near the nursing station that says the names of every patient coming in that day and why they were coming. This was clearly visible to any patient who walked to the bathroom at the clinic. The operative suite where egg retrievals happened felt dated and overall the clinic didn't have the bells and whistles some the newer clinics do.
Describe the costs associated with your care under Geoffrey Sher at Nevada Fertility Center (Ivy Fertility Network clinic).
We bought a package through Attain. Our cost was around $23,000 for two retrievals and unlimited FETs until we bring home a baby, this package has now expired and did not result in a live birth. The package included PGT biopsy, but not the testing, did not include anesthesia or egg freezing and storage. Anesthesia was required to be paid the day of the retrieval by check or cash.
Describe Geoffrey Sher's approach to eSET (elective single embryo transfer) vs. multiple embryo transfer at Nevada Fertility Center (Ivy Fertility Network clinic).
He recommended transferring 2 PGT-A euploid embryos for me at age 29, which goes against ASRM recommendations.

Lost appointments
Describe the specific things that went wrong at Nevada Fertility Center (Ivy Fertility Network clinic).
I was given the wrong time for a phone meeting at one time, which caused me to wait by the phone for an hour unnecessarily.
I came to Dr. Sher from another clinic that wasn’t so great. I thought I’d had plenty of testing done but he ordered more. Because of my PCOS and endometriosis he ordered a NK Cells panel... that confirmed that I do have elevated natural killer cells in my body that will likely harm any embryos before they have a chance unless I prepare my body with things like interlipid infusions prior to transfer. But those results indicated that I needed to do a DQ Alpha test with me and my husband, and we’re a partial match which means half our embryos won’t be accepted by my body.
I wish that as of now, all the testing results [from Sher Fertility of LV] were posted on my patient profile portal so I can re review it whenever. They’re in the process of transitioning to online but not quite there yet. Also with Dr. Sher leaving the practice end of March, know that you will not be seeing him.. but dr Johnson and dr Faulk have all been highly regarded by the nursing staff- which I trust completely
How was your experience with Geoffrey Sher at Nevada Fertility Center (Ivy Fertility Network clinic)?
The only negative is that he’s retiring from actively seeing patients after the upcoming March cycle. He’s been doing this for over 30 years and is moving to a consultation only based practice- but not hands on. I wish a million times I had just gone to see him first. I’m still hopeful that the new doctors at SIRM will uphold his same standard of individualized care.
What's one piece of advice would you give a prospective patient of Geoffrey Sher at Nevada Fertility Center (Ivy Fertility Network clinic)?
Be open and honest and be ready to get tested for a lot up front, to know what you’re dealing with instead of trying the “standard” and making changes after it doesn’t work. It seems like a lot of steps before you can just jump in but it’s worth it
During treatment, were you treated like a number or a human with Geoffrey Sher at Nevada Fertility Center (Ivy Fertility Network clinic)?
Dr. Sher is there for all of the appointments and monitoring. It’s not handled by nurses that are reviewed by him later. Every patient is given his personal cell phone and told to call with ANY questions. I did call, and received patient warm answers from him personally. The staff is all superb. And since cycles are limited to how many can join, it affords a personal experience each time.

As for treatment- I went on birth control,to align me with the next cycle date. Started leupron injections in the mornings, and omnitrope injections in the evenings. Came off birth control and started my period. Went in for baseline ultrasounds (conducted by Dr. Sher ), given clearance to start stimulation meds. We did 150 of gonal for two days, then 75 of gonal and 75 of menopur for the remainder till I was ready. The first retrieval did not go as expected and my eggs were stuck to the walls of my lining. Only 1 egg came out, but it did not fertilize. The next cycle we bumped up the stimulation meds to 300, and got 14 eggs, 11 fertilized, but 3 made it to blast stage. Currently awaiting PGS results.

This is another thing that truly sets apart SIRM. the staff is soooo helpful, encouraging, loving. Kim, my nurse, checks her emails after hours and always replies to any questions I have. The calendar they give you let’s you know what to expect and when. When I had to extend my meds out a few days the first cycle, they gave me some that I was short on, saving me hundreds. The list goes on and on but I love them all

My insurance covers 50% of eligible costs up to 20,000 lifetime benefit.
My first retrieval, after all ultrasounds and monitoring came to just under $900 with insurance.
My second retrieval billing is still pending.
Describe Geoffrey Sher's approach to eSET (elective single embryo transfer) vs. multiple embryo transfer at Nevada Fertility Center (Ivy Fertility Network clinic).
Because of our partial DQ Alpha match, they will only do single embryo transfer for me... because if one is that match, my body would abort both.
I came to Dr. Sher because I just had my second miscarriage. We did DNA analysis and tested for antibodies to various diseases to figure out what caused my miscarriage. The only thing that showed up was that I have MTHFR C677T mutation. ... Dr Sher really wants to help you. He's very knowledgeable on all aspects of fertility. He also told me what I needed to do to prepare for my next cycle. Unfortunately, I had problems with fibroids and had to deal with that first.
well it was always very easy to get an appointment and they [Sher Fertility of Las Vegas] never made you wait more than 15 minutes for your appointment. the office wasn't busy each time I went there for consultation. I never consulted a nurse for their pricing but based on what I saw as estimates, their pricing seemed higher. ... they were all very friendly to me. they were quick to respond over email as well.

Every visit [at Sher Fertility of Las Vegas] I felt loved and cared for. Especially by Kimberly Ealy, Jessica, Kristina, Amanda, Tina, Heather, Diana, Brianna, Chalet and I'm sure many more. They became my family and celebrated with us as we had good news and hugged us when we had not so good news. They truly care!...Approximately 10K in office for IVF. Also had Natural killer cell testing at about $1400...With all of the appointments, shots, treatments you will be going through, you can put your trust in this staff at SIRM.
How was your experience with Geoffrey Sher at Nevada Fertility Center (Ivy Fertility Network clinic)?
Where to begin? Dr. Sher us one of a kind. No wonder he has delivered over 18,000 babies and still going. He has patients fly from other countries for his services. Dr. Sher is honest, kind, compassionate and truly cares about his patients and their families. The minute we met him and then had an hour conversation about our issues and concerns, he made us feel comfortable and breathe a little easier. We knew we needed to be here and with the SIRM family. We had been to other clinics but nothing compared to the warmth we received. Excited to see what the future holds.

I began with birth control to regulate my periods, then started on Lupron and Omnitrope. The first week I had a lot of headaches and mood swings. Then a week later I began Ganirellix and stopped the Lupron at that time. A few days later I added Follistim and 2 days after added Menopur. My follicles weren't growing fast enough and large enough so the continued me on an additional few days past the "normal" to give them time to grow and the caught up.

How was your experience with Geoffrey Sher at Nevada Fertility Center (Ivy Fertility Network clinic)?
I think it's going to be difficult and a bit long to put this into words, but I'm going to try.
For me, Dr. Sher is the most knowledgeable professional in the IVF arena, today and since decades ago. I think perhaps in all the United States and surely must be one of the best in the world, it is incredible the amount of practices that are implemented today in IVF thanks to him. You just have to do a bit of online research to be amazed. But I do not want to talk about this, but about my own personal experience with him. I was very surprised when we arrived that he had taken the time to study all our history previously, (before I had gone with Dr. Bruce Shapiro also in the Las Vegas area, and I had asked to transfer all my file to Dr. Sher ). I was even more surprised as he tried to correlate my history of infertility and my particular medical conditions (PCOS, insulin resistance, tubal factor, among others), to explain in a natural and scientific way my failures in previous attempts. He did what a Doctor rarely does and took a lot of time explaining how one could try to overcome each of the obstacles, I think I learned more in that consultation than in all the time I've been reading, researching and trying to conceive. My only regret is not having met Dr. Sher before, for example before trying to use Clomid, which by producing large amounts of eggs caused also a large increase in free testosterone, and not only produced poor quality eggs that had difficulty to reach my uterus through my only blocked tube -which was believed by another doctor to be healthy because it was permeable to some grade-, but also caused the fall of half of my beautiful and abundant hair. Dr. Sher sent me a list of all the articles in his blog related to my situation, and asked me to read everything before starting the cycle, so I did and it helped me a lot to be informed and not to be anxious during the process. I love that every time we see each other, even if he is not looking at his computer, he always reminds me by my name and also my husband. As he told me himself once, he was going to take care of me during my treatment as if I were his little sister, and he really has always made me feel that way.
If I have to mention his weaknesses, there would be only two:
1) Hopefully it will be less time before the initial consultation with him could be obtained, although in reality it is worth the wait, since the doctor and his team are in charge of compiling exhaustively all the tests, images, medical history, that you have listed in the initial questionnaire sent to you by mail. In this part it is important that you'll be equally thorough, and as the form says, be very detailed, because the Doctor will take all this time to investigate and more importantly, analyze the history of each patient, in order to determine the best way to approach your treatment.
2) I wish the Doctor was not about to retire, I still can not believe that he will retire in mid-2019, I hope I can conceive before that date because I do not want to see any other doctor than Dr. Sher.
What's one piece of advice would you give a prospective patient of Geoffrey Sher at Nevada Fertility Center (Ivy Fertility Network clinic)?
Book your consultation with him as soon as you have the first thought, just take the phone and dial the number because it will pass time before you get to see him and he is worth every minute you are going to wait. You'll have time to do all your research online later, and if in the end you decide you don't want to see him, or you'll go with another doctor (which I personally think will be a mistake), just be polite and nice and cancel within the timeframe you're given to do so.
During treatment, were you treated like a number or a human with Geoffrey Sher at Nevada Fertility Center (Ivy Fertility Network clinic)?
My husband and I had to wait 2 months to meet Dr. Sher in our initial consultation. It was worth every minute we waited. When we arrived we realized that the doctor already knew every detail of our medical history by heart, he called us by our names with total spontaneity, and he made us feel like he was a father who knows his children, and knows that he can help them in their need. Moreover, he wishes with all his heart that our success is also his success. He explained in detail why I have failed on past attempts, was honest about the implications of all the factors that condition my fertility, and offered me a comprehensive treatment to address each one of them. He offered me his telephone number in the first consultation and every time we see each other he reminds me that I am only one call away, at any time. He remembers my name and my husband's, and that is important for us. It tells me that this Doctor really loves his profession and feels passion for what he does, and that makes me trust him. When he has had to call me by phone, he is always punctual and never makes me feel that someone else is waiting for him. I do not know if one day we will be parents, I just know that when that day comes, it will be thanks to Dr. Sher.
Describe the protocols Geoffrey Sher used in your cycles at Nevada Fertility Center (Ivy Fertility Network clinic) and their degree of success.
Dr. Sher what is called the prolonged coasting method for me to cycle, to avoid Ovarian Hyperstimulation Syndrome (OHSS). In my first IVF cycle with him, he suggested toinitiate a long pituitary down regulation protocol (using Lupron) coming off a birth control pill (BCP). Then stimulated with 450U of Folistim for two days and reduced the dosage to 300U daily thereafter, adding 375U of Menopur, and I also had 8U of Omnitrope to help my eggs grow and to improve quality. I had 8 follicles that were between 15 and 22mm. At this time “prolonged coasting” was stopped and I was administered a “trigger shot” of 10,000u hCG.
2 mature eggs were retrieved and 2 others were retrieved but weew not fully mature, they were let grow for some hours and them all there 4 were fertilized correctly but 3 of them stopped growing around days 3 and 4. Only one beautiful embryo made it to blastocist and had been frozen. I'm still waiting on PGS results for next week, but it looks great and I'm positive it will be healthy and highly graded. I am already preparing for my next cycle, as we want as least to have some more to try transfer. I was going to do it on December but we moved it to October, since I'll be coming out of BCP and I already got my period, doctor recomends to let ovaries rest for at least a month, so we'll be doing that. For next cycle my doses are going to be increased, and we are keeping the same protocol. which is expected to continue protecting me against OHSS, but we hope for better results with the adjusted doses considering I'm heavy overweight right now. I'm following the fertility diet too to help my eggs, alsod using CQ10, prenatal vitamins with only Folic Acid (No DHEA for now, read Dr. Sher's explanation here: https://haveababy.com/fertility-information/ivf-authority/dhea-and-ivf-harmful-in-certain-cases), as I have high insulin/insuline resistance, which makes my testosterone to be higher already. Completing with Metformin 500 mg twice a day to try to keep that insuline resistance under control.

Kim (as well as all the other girls on Dr. Sher's staff) is what we call an angel on earth. She will get back to me in less than 5 minutes when I email her, and when they are cycling never later than end of day. She has never not replied to me or call me back when asked or promised. She sends my prescriptions to every pharmacy she knows and gives me tips on how to maximize my savings with each one. She provides me with on time updates about my progress, is on top of everything and well organized, and is always making sure to point the full half of the glass instead of the empty one. and to me it's a cozy and warm place, it does not have pictures of babies on the walls, I think I read in an interview that it is a symbol of the doctor's respect towards people who have not yet been able to achieve it and have had traumatic experiences. I love that every time I go, there are couples with their babies coming and going. The clinic is clean, spacious and everything is well organized. Maybe it does not have the appearance of being a brand new and ultra-modern place, like other offices I've visited, but I think that Dr. Sher's office feels more like a home and a place where they care a lot more about people, in contrast with those other places that I have visited that look brand new and ultra-modern, but had made me felt they are cold and only care about $$$. A great strenght is they offer something to snack whenever you have to go for tests early in the morning: they have bars, oatmeal, pastries, Honest juice, etc.

He'll let you pick sex if you want to, and would transfer up to 2 embryos. Has educated about the risks of multiples.
Upon our first consultation we were absolutely sold on Dr. Sher. Our previous experience with other doctors was more cold, and all about getting down to business/treatment. Dr. Sher took the time to explain infertility and his approach... Dr. Sher perscribed a different medication protocol then I had w/my previous RE. He was very specific about why the previous one did not suit my condition, age, etc. He also did extra testing including a hysterscopy, fluid ultrasound
The calendar and information is all very nicely organized. Makes it easy to follow instruction and know what to expect. The only thing I would say they [Sher Fertility] could do better is help you understand what to expect when you arrive in town.... After my first visit, Heather, at the front desk always remembered my name - after only seeing me once! The team would personally email me and write/speak in a casual manner using my name and so forth.

Dr. Sher took the time to explain infertility and his approach, fully acknowledging we had the choice to go anywhere and this was his opportunity to explain what he was about so we could decide if he was the right fit. No hard sell. He clearly cares about what he does. He also gives out his cell number before you even sign up and his able to be contacted any time for questions. He takes each patient seriously and wants to make sure each feels comfortable. He is super warm and personable. Makes you feel he's really rooting for you. Also I felt very comfortable with his vast expertise. He's a pleasure to be around, puts you at ease.

The calendar and information is all very nicely organized. Makes it easy to follow instruction and know what to expect. The only thing I would say they could do better is help you understand what to expect when you arrive in town. For FET, I had 1 quick visit then didn't have to come back for almost a week. I thought I would be monitored in between and that the FET could be pushed back so I planned a much longer and more expensive "vacation" there then needed. I could have done the initial visit in town then only go up for FET and saved a lot of time, vacation days, and money. I wish they'd explain these expectations better and help out-of-towners plan, but I get that's not their priority. Overall super happy with them though!!

eSET was not discussed - I only had 1 viable embryo after PGS. As far as multiple we did discuss this earlier on and he said it was really our personal decision, but again we only had 1 to work with so we didn't delve to far into this topic.
We've had 4 miscarriages (to include 1 mmc, 1ep, and 1 cp), and presented [to Dr. Geoffrey Sher] having already completed chromosome analysis, blood clotting disorders, and the fetal remains. I was then tested for elevated NK cells, and PCOS, and my spouse and I were tested for DQ Alpha match. We found that we are a partial match, but I do not have elevated NK cells. So this means that there is no obvious cause for our recurrent losses, and thus not a lot that we can do. He recommended doing medicated cycles to increase our chances of conceiving each cycle. We did this before and conceived our 3rd pregnancy this way, so I am not hopeful that this will result in a live birth.
I had issues with the coordinator [at Sher Fertility of LV] in that she was difficult to get in contact with, and did not respond promptly. I also had some issues getting in contact with the front office at times. Nurses did call promptly when asked via telephone, but not via the message portal.... I never actually went to the physical clinic as I live out of state where there is no RE. I appreciate that they accommodated skype calls, and coordinating care out of state. It took quite a bit of time to get a consult, and that was frustrating but apparently this is to be expected.
How was your experience with Geoffrey Sher at Nevada Fertility Center (Ivy Fertility Network clinic)?
Dr. Sher is really kind, and worked well with us. I am disappointed that we did not get the answers that ew wanted, and thus not much of a treatment plan. However, this was explained well to us, regardless of how poorly I felt about it.
What's one piece of advice would you give a prospective patient of Geoffrey Sher at Nevada Fertility Center (Ivy Fertility Network clinic)?
Read the blog before seeing Dr. Sher
During treatment, were you treated like a number or a human with Geoffrey Sher at Nevada Fertility Center (Ivy Fertility Network clinic)?
Dr. Sher remained compassionate through our care, however, I felt badly whenever I was told that there was nothing else he could do for us at this time to increase the likelihood of having a successful pregnancy. He did not explain this without compassion, I just hate there's nothing else that can be done for us at this time.

The initial consult was $200, and all subsequent consults were of no cost to us. I am not sure the final cost for all of our labs at Reprosource, but before insurance - which isn't likely to cover much - they were around $2k. I'm not sure the cost of clomid as I did cycles with letrozole before, and it was covered by my insurance.

When I got a call with my lab results I received wrong information regarding my case and care because Dr. Sher had another chart in front of him that he was reading from. Another tie I was instructed that I would receive a script for clomid to my pharmacy, and that never happened. Instead I will be pursuing medicated cycles with my previous provider.
I have always had problems with my thin lining. So he [Dr. Geoffrey Sher] had me on vaginal viagra. It helped so much! Also even though my natural killer cell test came back negative we tried intralipids and it worked wonders. We finally had success. Other then that the protocol was standard...usually likes to only transfer one embryo to reduce the chances of twin pregnancy. But if it is your wish or he thinks it would be a higher chance for success he will gladly transfer two
Everyone I was in contact with [at Sher Fertility of Las Vegas] was nice and always available. The nurses seemed to care about me very much and I felt like I was in good hands. The lady that’s in charge of billing is a bit more reserved and more about business then the others, but that’s ok...They have set times and cycle dates. But it always worked out for me....They are always available and help with anyhing you need. Even dumb questions or concerns. I didn’t like that sometimes multiple nurses (2 or even 3) seemed to be dealing with my case and not always communicated with each other before contacting me. I had to explain things over again a few times.

I love him, there is no other way to describe it. Before I got my miracle baby I told my husband: if we fail with Dr. Sher I will know we did everything we could to try to succeed and it just wasn’t meant to be. He is the only RE that cares, have 110% and gave me hope. He is humble, so incredibly knowligable and a caring doctor. I truly believe he is one of if not the best.

If you feel like giving up, if you feel like your RE isn’t fighting as hard as you, go see Dr. Sher. Even if all fails you will know there wasn’t anything else anyone could have done. He fights for you. Trust him

I really liked Dr.Sher. He is compassionate and super knowledgeable. He makes you feel like part of a team...He presents all the options and then let's you decide what is best for you. The one cycle where I poorly responded to the meds (no one could figure out why) I literally stumped him he was kinda cold and seemed angry. The nurse later explained to me that his demeanour was out of frustration because he felt bad he couldn't give me an answer. The next cycle we went in though he was much better and super happy that he had figured out a solution. That cycle resulted in us having our baby boy!
Dr. Sher is VERY passionate about his clinic and his job. You can tell by the way his clinic operates. His staff are there for you 100%. Being able to email someone at any time of the day and getting an answer shortly after shows they are there for their patients....We purchased a 2 cycle package for around $13,000 (kinda works like the lottery if it works the first time you loose the second cycle). For us we felt like if if worked the first time we wouldn't care. :) Our medications were around $3000

Dr. Sher is very knowledgable in his speciality. He was not arrogant in any way and was very compassionate when discussing my chemical pregnancy after using our last two embryos. He has a good sense of humor and explained the procedures well...Dr. Sher's office staff is subpar. Emails are not returned promptly, it is not encouraged to call your nurse as they are "too busy" with other patients. Dr. Sher however was always pleasant and I choose to stay under his care because of his incredible bedside manner.
The office manager [at Sher Fertility of Las Vegas] seems forgetful. Their office scheduled us for a frozen embryo transfer after we paid our deposit and scheduled flights and hotel. When we had our nurse review (over a month later), they revealed the providers would be out of town and we would need to reschedule. I said this was not acceptable as we had already made arrangements and paid a $2,000 deposit. They did rectify the situation and made it work but this was after undue stress was put on the patient (myself). They don't seem to communicate well.

Dr. Sher recognized I definitely had an autoimmune issue causing failure with our embryo transfers. He addressed my anti-phospholipid antibodies with Lovenox as well as my endometriosis. He gave me Dexamethasone to prevent embryo rejection. We plan to use a coasting method when we do our first egg retrial with him in June. We achieved our first ever pregnancy (in five years of trying to conceive), with him despite it ending in a chemical pregnancy. He gives us hope.

Jamie was well organized. She did seem busy at times but as a medical assistant in a busy rheumatology clinic, I get that. She was always amicable. The nurse who called us with our beta results, Breanna, I did not feel was compassionate with giving us the news of our loss.

I honesty might be one in 100 that has had issues with the clinic but I truly believe that Dr. Sher will get us pregnant. The issues I have faced have not happened again and apologies were made to my husband and I.
Dr. Sher was incredible- kind, patient, and with a great sense of humor which goes a long way in such a stressful situation. He found an issue, endometriosis, which previous Drs had not found. He is incredibly focused on the details and with him I knew I was getting the very best.
Clinic [Sher Fertility of Las Vegas] is in Las Vegas, but away from the strip and next to a hospital-plenty of dedicated parking, easy to drive to. Spacious waiting room, you won't feel like you are on top of people, pleasant and professional environment....Briana was always available by email, answered questions quickly

Dr Sher is so passionate about IVF and he tailors treatments to individuals using varying protocols vs. preset protocols. Moreover, he actually is present at scans, doesn't delegate to his staff. You feel like you are getting 100% from Dr Sher-oh and he's also just so nice.
Describe the protocols Geoffrey Sher used in your cycles at Nevada Fertility Center (Ivy Fertility Network clinic) and their degree of success.
I was on an agonist/antagonist conversion protocol (LA8) coming off of a birth control pill. The rationale behind this protocol is not to overmedicate for women who have DOR or are of advanced maternal age, as Sher's take is that this can damage the eggs. I started wit Lupron while on BCP, then lowered the Lupron dose and added Ganerelix, stopped Lupron and added Follistim, added Menopur which I stayed on for the duration of the protocol. The trigger was an intramuscular shot of pure HCG. Dr Sher is very adamantly against Ovidrel because he sees it is an inferior product which does not release the eggs for the egg retrieval and will compromise a cycle.

He [Dr. Geoffrey Sher] said it was my eggs, my immune system and my husbands sperm any time something went wrong. He made me do tons of tests that were unnecessary and take treatments for my immune system “attacking” the embryo. Every miscarriage was something I “could have prevented” had I don’t this test or taken this pill. It was never a “I’m so sorry about your miscarriage,” it was always, “Well your body is rejecting it, we have to do XYX and you can start next cycle.” I also had ovarian hyperstimulation and he didn’t even ask to see me back in the office. He took around 30 eggs that round and when we called after me being in horrific pain, said my pain was “just gas.” Told me to take ibuprofen and not get up.
The entire office [Sher- LV] was disorganized. They used a whiteboard to keep track of who was where in what cycle - privacy issue if you ask me. They were overwhelmed all the time with the amount of patients and not trained to be doing the level of care they were expected to do. One day one nurse AFTER I came out of anesthesia said under her breath to another nurse, “OK Dr. Sher - stop buying cars cause we are out of blood pressure cuffs for all these patients.” They weren’t able to take my blood pressure after my retrieval because the cuffs were all broken. Partner gets to sit in a metal folding chair in the recovery room until the nursing staff kicks you out - I had to beg for pain meds once because they said I “shouldn’t” have been in pain.

It was literally a production line - get in get out - he gets his money and move on. He dismissed our concerns on many occasions and when we finally left the clinic, their attitude showed they genuinely didn’t care. They were rude, callous and just wanted money even though they had processed everything that was sent to insurance incorrectly.
Describe the protocols Geoffrey Sher used in your cycles at Nevada Fertility Center (Ivy Fertility Network clinic) and their degree of success.
Lupron, Gonal, Menopur And after transfer - progesterone suppositories and shot. He also said I needed to do this IV of some solution (not covered by insurance - usually given to patients in comas for nutrition) three times at $1000 a pop to calm my body down. He was considering using Viagra as a vaginal suppository to increase blood flow. He had no rhyme or reason to do much of this - his explanations were outlandish, but I didn’t know any better and thought he knew what he was doing.

He makes stuff up - you end up being an experiment. His daughter is the surrogate coordinator and so it’s amazing how many people are referred to use surrogates. He messes with you with these weird diagnosis ideas that make you question your body. After everything he was making me jump through, went to another clinic and got pregnant with twins - no clotting issues, no immune system issues, no vaginal viagra needed. I asked Sher for a blood test because I felt my progesterone was off - they said no. 5 days later I miscarried. What would it have hurt to test it? Charge my insurance. Please don’t go here.

Sharron was in charge and she was awful. Their paperwork was a copy of a copy of a copy about all the packages they offered and the prices. She told me what was covered and what wasn’t but it proved to be incorrect. She was more like a used car salesman than someone who cared about my money and my ultimate goals. It’s 5 years after going there and I actually just got a bill for something else she did wrong in terms of billing to insurance. After I transferred my embryos, she immediately sent me an email saying she was sending me to collections for outstanding insurance payments - again - all of which was done incorrectly on her part.
Describe Geoffrey Sher's approach to eSET (elective single embryo transfer) vs. multiple embryo transfer at Nevada Fertility Center (Ivy Fertility Network clinic).
He was willing to put in as many as I wanted. My personal though was the faster we went through embryos, the more money he could make. I also felt like he would use more to try and get a positive pregnancy test. He generally only reports his positive pregnancy test results online - not live births.

Describe the specific things that went wrong at Nevada Fertility Center (Ivy Fertility Network clinic).
When i went to another clinic, I had a few embryos left. I scheduled a transfer via CryoPort to pick them up and drive them 5 miles to my next clinic. We went to transfer those embryos a month or two later and my new nurse said they kept “exploding” so to speak - she said they were waiting for #5 to defrost. I asked her to go ahead and defrost 6 and 7 and she said there were only 5. Shers office “FORGOT” about my other 2 embryos from a different cycle and didn’t send them. So I lost a cycle at my new clinic due to this - they sent the other two about 2 weeks later after they found them and they eventually wouldn’t defrost either. They consistently couldn’t find my paperwork, wouldn’t send to the new clinic - I ended up having to go down and get myself, they lost documents from my insurance company, totally screwed up my billing, I had to call multiple times to get results to find out they had closed for the evening and had to wait until the next day, it was a horror story. He also does this thing where he would post on his blog how many “positive HCG results” he had per day on day 3 and then day 7 I think? So you could look and figure out the odds. He had 12 retrievals and there were 7 positive, maybe I’m one of them!?! He wouldn’t call until they had the second ones in (which was fine - seems to be standard practice) but he posted online (it was annonymous) before he called - and then his nurses would call and not him. You have to schedule and pay for another appt if you wanted to talk to him. Even then, it was usually my body’s fault and not his as to why it didn’t work.
Dr. Geoffrey Sher was one of the only doctors that gave me a chance to transfer my mosaic embryos...I am treated like a human because he was able to help me right away. The consultation was pretty fast and he was able to add me to the cycle even though it was almost too late...The doctor is in Las Vegas but if you live in Los Angeles he goes there every 3 months and perform cycles at the LA IVF clinic.
I mostly had contact with her [Sher Fertility Solutions NY nurse] by email and saw her twice...More then 6,000 for the transfer and lab test and a surgery...The clinic is big, and clean. Everything is organized and I like the fact that my husband was able to be in the room with me when I had my transfer. That made me feel good because I think my partner should be part of this important moment. In another clinic my husband wasn’t able to be with me.

He [Dr. Geoffrey Sher] was overly positive, and didn't prepare us for the outcomes we received in our cycles. He made it seem like a sure thing, when we ended up with 3 cycles and no positive outcome. It made the final results so much harder, because we truly were led to beleive we would be sucessful.... He was kind, caring, and always available for us to contact about questions or concerns.
The clinic [Sher-Las Vegas] was very "doctors office like" sterile and a cold. It was busy, and the phones were always ringing. I felt like i was just another person to check off on their list. I did 3 full cycles in a year and was always there, yet no one ever recognized me or my husband.... The front office staff was a little dismissive, and weren't the kindest. They had a lot going on so i felt like i couldnt ask them any questions.

He [Dr. Geoffrey Sher] was very knowledgeable on my unique issues. Several doctors had made me lose hope but he was skilled in what he does and was able to provide me with more information and hope than others. I didn't feel rushed and was able to ask him all the questions I had. He is a great doctor...We had our consultation and on the spot he decided to do an exam/ultrasound to take a look at the health of my uterus. This was not something typically done on the first visit but he wanted me to be well informed on my uterine health before I left.
They [nurses] were extremely helpful and kind to my husband and I...No weakness that I know of. Their strength [SIRM] is patience and commitment to making sure all patients leave well informed and hopeful for their fertility journey. I also appreciate that they gift two IVF treatments to those who are unable to afford it in the Las Vegas Valley...We had our consultation and on the spot he decided to do an exam/ultrasound to take a look at the health of my uterus. With the exception of a minor hiccup, we worked it out. I wasn't seeking perfection. I sought real people who care and have compassion. No one is perfect. Nothing is perfect. It's what you do and how you handle expectations. How you resolve the matter. It's in the being vs doing.

[Dr. Geoffrey Sher was] More interested in beginning treatment before weighing options; pushed tubal ligation before IVF.... Recommended tubal ligation before starting IVF because of toxic fluid; suggested mini-IVF.... Very compassionate; more interested in pushing cycles than helping you have a baby. Seems financially driven and isn’t as committed to patient care as other doctors I saw. Exceptional clinic with high success rate...
[Sher Fertility of LV is the] Most expensive clinic in Las Vegas; but has the most resources and best ratings as well. They have large cycles, but that’s helpful when you are seeking a friend to cycle with. High success rate. Highly recommend if you are interested in a multi cycle package.... When transferring to a new clinic; the delay in sending records caused issues... $20k a cycle for IVF
