Dr. Attia is brief in his explanations but able and willing to answer any questions and elaborate if needed. I would recommend to a first timer to prepare their questions in advance...very knowledgeable, he is not as warm...has a very calm demeanor which is helpful since the stress of trying to conceive can be stressful. When I am in his office I feel like I am in good hands.
The clinic is very organized. They are under the University of Miami umbrella so they have a very good process in place and I really like that. Wait times are not too long...The receptionists are very sweet. The clinic also provides me with a generous discount since my insurance does not cover the treatments...As far as weaknesses, at times the admin dept seems very overwhelmed and flustered.

What's one piece of advice would you give a prospective patient of George Attia at UHealth Center for Reproductive Medicine?
Do your research, come with questions written down.
During treatment, were you treated like a number or a human with George Attia at UHealth Center for Reproductive Medicine?
I felt that the team was very nice from the reception to the nurses and techs. They are very welcoming. Dr. Attia is brief in his explanations but able and willing to answer any questions and elaborate if needed. I would recommend to a first timer to prepare their questions in advance. Actually, it is even recommended with a poster in their waiting room. Other than that, I did not feel like a number or dollar sign when I was there at any part of the process. The team is all very warm, methodological and eager to detail the entire process to me. Dr. Attia has a well run office and it seems like he is committed to helping his patients reach their goal.
Describe the protocols George Attia used in your cycles at UHealth Center for Reproductive Medicine and their degree of success.
My gynecologist had prescribed clomid which was not effective. Dr. Attia prescribed femara, he wanted to test this medication out which is stronger than clomid before moving me to injections.
Describe your experience with the nursing staff at UHealth Center for Reproductive Medicine.
There are two nurses in Dr. Attias' office. the nurse that checks me in, she is very pleasant. She is always the one checking me in to my appointments. The second nurse, she reviews my ultrasound reports but I haven't interacted too much with her.
Describe your experience with UHealth Center for Reproductive Medicine.
The clinic is very organized. They are under the University of Miami umbrella so they have a very good process in place and I really like that. Wait times are not too long. I usually schedule my ultrasounds at 8 a.m. which is the first appointment they have. I'm in and out and back at work by 10 a.m. The receptionists are very sweet. The clinic also provides me with a generous discount since my insurance does not cover the treatments. Since the clinic is located in a hospital, I was able to do all the examinations there. As far as weaknesses, at times the admin dept seems very overwhelmed and flustered. One time, they forgot to send over blood work prescriptions to my lab and I had to follow up with them. Other than that, I'm very happy with their services.

For one of my ultrasounds, I received an email that I should have a full bladder, however that was incorrect so it was inconvenient.
You can tell he [Dr. George Attia] is really rooting for you...He cares. He can be a bit quick so have your questions ready, but when you have them he takes the time to answer them. He is rooting for you to succeed and doesn't push to the most expensive option first. He is honest when he thinks a course of treatment needs to be adjusted or to move on all together...We tried 4 rounds of IUI. We retested sperm in between the first and second. then we were told to move on that it wasnt working but we could continue as long as we wanted. We then did an egg retrieval and FET.
The staff [at Uhealth Reproductive and Fertility Center] is attentive and caring...All of the nurses take good care of you. One time I did need meds on the weekend and the pharmacy had the wrong RX so I called the hospitals answering service and they had her call me right away...IUI was $1200 ...IVF was 11,500...FET was 3300...The clinic isnt beautiful but the kindness makes up for it. I also didnt feel like they just wanted profit. They try and help you save, not as much as some but i felt good about the prices. They are crowed sometimes. You dont usually have to wait very long which is something Ive experienced before. They can be a little rushed during an exam but it feels like it's because of experience

One time they mistakenly called in the wrong dosing on my patches and had to call in to adjust it. It was over the weekend but it was worked out. A stressful couple of hours
Give him [Dr. George Attia] time to warm up to you. He’s friendlier than he looks...Meds were adjusted once on cd 7 to 2 times a day as I was a slow responder. 2 days later ultrasound and blood work showed improvement cetrotide was added on Stim day 7...At first I felt our appointment was very quick, but after a few visits I thought he was very pleasant and helpful. He asked and made sure I understood everything and made sure it was clear. He spends time and when I was concerned he made sure to relax me and answer all concerns.
Savannah [nurse at UHealth Reproductive and Fertility Center] is so sweet and patient. She spent so much time to help me with the injections and paperwork. She calls me timely and answers all my questions and worries. If I email or call they call me back within a few hrs and I never feel like a bother...Blood can be drawn in office and they can do everything in one office which is great! The wait time isn’t usually long once you start ivf but before it maybe a long wait in but that’s because they spend time with the patient. I wish they did SA everyday instead of only fridays.

Describe George Attia's approach to eSET (elective single embryo transfer) vs. multiple embryo transfer at UHealth Center for Reproductive Medicine.
I have seen a total of 4 doctors in the last 5 years for my DOR that was diagnosed at age 29. Dr. Attia is my current primary fertility doctor after seeing a previous doctor for 2 years. Dr. Attia was the first doctor to offer a new treatment plan to increase my chances to conceive a baby with my own eggs (using HGH and DHEA) after countless canceled medicated IVF rounds with my previous doctor.
[UHealth Reproductive & Fertility Center] Only downfall was at the beginning as a new patient. There seemed to be some miscommunications between internal staff in regards to setting up my first treatment calendar. However, everything was rectified and the team took full accountability which I found impressive compared to clinics I have worked with in the past.

Dr. Attia was the first doctor to offer a new treatment plan to increase my chances to conceive a baby with my own eggs (using HGH and DHEA) after countless canceled medicated IVF rounds with my previous doctor. Though our egg retrieval with Attia was unsuccessful, it was a breath of fresh air to have a new way to approach my treatment. Dr. Attia is a bit' serious, but ultimately likable guy that always shows respect. He speaks directly and has a great bedside manner. He is a great listener, understands your personal schedule and life and tries to work around that as best as possible. He always considers my input and never holds back on his expectations or professional judgement. He is truthful, never forces treatment and takes accountability for his staff and work.
What's one piece of advice would you give a prospective patient of George Attia at UHealth Center for Reproductive Medicine?
Always ask questions if you need further explanation. Dr. Attia will not hesitate to go in more detail, but from experience asking questions is always why I had more knowledge of my treatment.
During treatment, were you treated like a number or a human with George Attia at UHealth Center for Reproductive Medicine?
Dr. Attia was respectful, thorough and spoke to both my husband and I in a very professional manner.
Describe the protocols George Attia used in your cycles at UHealth Center for Reproductive Medicine and their degree of success.
Treatment strategy for IVF - DHEA, HGH, menopur and follistim w/ high dosages on menopur and follistim. This was all specific to treating DOR with the hopes to retrieve even just 1 egg. There were low expectations, but this was set straight from the beginning with all parties aware. This was our last straw at IVF without using donor eggs. Throughout the cycle I grew 1 mature follicle and one borderline mature follicle which was more than I had in the 5 previous treatment cycles without using HGH and DHEA (with another doctor). Egg retrieval with Attia resulted in 0 eggs.
Describe your experience with your nurse at UHealth Center for Reproductive Medicine. (Assigned nurse: Savannah)
Savannah was very kind and easily accessible which is something I find imperative when undergoing fertility treatment. I could always depend on her to have results to me in a timely manner.
Describe your experience with UHealth Center for Reproductive Medicine.
Office is clean. All staff is very kind, attentive, and professional. Wait time was never excessive and I always saw the doctor for every visit, ultrasound and treatment. I was always offered sit down consultation in conjunction with monitoring and treatment, which was great. Only downfall was at the beginning as a new patient. There seemed to be some miscommunications between internal staff in regards to setting up my first treatment calendar. However, everything was rectified and the team took full accountability which I found impressive compared to clinics I have worked with in the past.

Describe the specific things that went wrong at UHealth Center for Reproductive Medicine.
There was miscommunication between doctor and nurse staff as to what date my treatment was to begin. Thankfully, it was adjusted and aligned prior to when I actually needed to begin medications, etc.
Not every details or step was discussed with me, unless I did ask specifically. He [Dr. Attia] did ask a lot if I have more questions for him, so his patients better be prepared and do research to be able to ask questions.... Stimulation with Gonal F and Menopur injections. Got two embryos after first retrieval. Did embyo transfer did not grow them to blastocyte. Doctor said his believe is that the human body is the better environment than the lab dish for the embryos to survive.
Clinic [UHealth Repro and Fertility Ctr] was very accomodationg to my work schedule so i could choose the time within their 'monitoring window' that would work best for me.... strengths: Wait time okay. The staff are nice but not overly friendly. weaknesses: In my opinion maybe not using the latest recommendation in field. Not sure how I feel about their laboratory.... paid $10,500 for the first cycle (package, all inclusive, of course excluding meds and we didn't do PGS testing).

Doctor said his believe is that the human body is the better environment than the lab dish for the embryos to survive. Did not do PGS testing, as we only had two embryos.
On second IVF cycle he used the same medication regimen just altered the dosages a little and added growth hormone. We retrieve five eggs and ended up with no viable embryo. He next suggested donor eggs.

Describe George Attia's approach to eSET (elective single embryo transfer) vs. multiple embryo transfer at UHealth Center for Reproductive Medicine.
For my age and this is documented in subject's literature two embryo transfer is acceptable, especially as they were not tested.
The dr. [Attia] is nice but feels very very rushed... I didn't completely feel that everything was explained to me thoroughly...When I first met with the dr. he seemed very positive and upbeat. He always greeted me with a smile...Antagonist protocol. 8 days of stims on high doses of menopur and gonal-f. They ordered the correct amount of meds and made sure that I didn't have to over pay for extra meds I wouldn't need.
The nursing staff [at UHealth Reproductive and Fertility Center] seemed rushed. It also felt unorganized. Sometimes the nurses seem annoyed with questions...they always run late, seem very unorganized, and not a good communicator...I did the FDA testing at their office and a few days before retrieval was told that the lab never received the labs so I had to rush to an outside lab to have labs drawn or else my retrieval would have been cancelled.
How was your experience with George Attia at UHealth Center for Reproductive Medicine?
The dr. is nice but feels very very rushed. His nurse is also nice but very very rushed. I didn't completely feel that everything was explained to me thoroughly. Returning phone calls is a weakness of this clinic. Also, the front office gave me different answers than the nursing staff which made it very confusing. When I first met with the dr. he seemed very positive and upbeat. He always greeted me with a smile. The office wait is always really long and they are hardly ever on time.

he [Dr. George Attia] is very nice and kind, but since he has to see so many people for the same reason maybe sometimes i didn't feel like he was warm enough for me...it was a regular protocol of stimulation and egg retrieval because apparently everything was fine with me, just unexplained infertility, but we end up knowing my hormones levels were very low. i remember using meropur, cetrotide, trigger shot, and the progesterone.
i don t have anything bad to say [about University of Miami], just because it wasn't a positive result for me , i am not going to blame them, i would recommend this clinic absolutely because they have good prices, and good care, may not be the best, but they do their jobs...i felt some times like a number and some times like a human, i was expecting a little bit more of attention or care, some of the staff were really nice, some not. this is a difficult time we go through and we need more special attention.

Dr. Attia was very direct and to the point. Which can be good but I did not feel a personal connection to him. I felt like all appointments with him were rushed on the occasions that I saw him...Then he would be accompanied by other doctors. Whether interns or visiting doctors. For my first sonogram to determine if I was having one or two babies there were about four to five doctors in the ultra sound room. On that first visit we were unable to hear the heartbeats due to the babies still being too small. Even though Dr. Attia reassured me it was still too soon with the room being full of people I didn't know it was very uncomfortable and emotional for me.
Everyone at the clinic [U of Miami] was very welcoming. It was very hard to get the first initial appointment I believe I had to wait almost 2 months but once I was in it was easy to change appointments or get the earliest ones during stims for my ultra sounds. They were very flexible with me...My nurse was great she was compassionate and caring and always made me feel comfortable. Even when I would overwhelm her with questions. My only complaint was at times is was hard to get a hold of her I found email to be the best way to reach her.

Dr. Attia was very direct and to the point. Which can be good but I did not feel a personal connection to him. I felt like all appointments with him were rushed on the occasions that I saw him. As you know during fertility treatments you can pretty much visit the clinic three to five times in a week. I would say that I only saw him about two times in any given week until I reached the end of my journey. Then he would be accompanied by other doctors. Whether interns or visiting doctors. For my first sonogram to determine if I was having one or two babies there were about four to five doctors in the ultra sound room. My fertility treatments began January 1, 2016 with birth control pills. I took the pills for about 3 weeks. Then I began Lupron ( don't remember the exact dosage) I began stims on feb 12 decreasing the dosage of lupron and adding gonal f and menapur to the injections. Trigger of Noval was feb 22 at 11:20 pm and egg retrieval was feb 24 at 8am. 24 eggs were retrieved 15 matured 11 tested using PDg testing. Only 2 embryos were viable and they were transferred on feb 24. Resulting in a twin pregnancy. My babies are just about 6 months old now and perfectly healthy.

Dr. Attia is very direct which is not bad he tells you everything without a round about way but he has excellent bedside manner. He gave his medical opinion but also provided me with the knowledge needed for all my options...For the retrieval I was on gonal f 75 , menopur 75 and the dosage would change every few days depending on my ultrasound and blood results. The doctor would complete a blood test and ultrasound ever 3 days during my retrieval
She [nurse at UHealth Reproductive and Fertility Center] always made herself available even on weekend. She was there every step of the way with answers, guidance and understandable instructions...They [staff at UHealth] are attentive, they try to work around your schedule. Describe George Attia's approach to eSET (elective single embryo transfer) vs. multiple embryo transfer at UHealth Center for Reproductive Medicine.
Due to my diabetic diagnosis it would be too much of a high risk to do a multiple embryo transfer.
Dr. Attia is a competent doctor. He performed the treatment in a professional manner. He does not oversee his office staff and nurses appropriately. That is a problem. Patient treatment suffers because of it...I was supposed to have tests that they never gave me. So, I carried a miscarried pregnancy for three months because they never did a ultrasound...There are many other options in South Florida. I would see someone else.
They [staff at UHealth Reproductive and Fertility Center] forgot to tell me important details about my treatment. I was supposed to have tests that they never gave me. So, I carried a miscarried pregnancy for three months because they never did a ultrasound...I was not informed about the dosages of follistim that I was supposed to take each day. I had to call the on call number and then I got a nasty reaction from the nurse. They did not tell me what day to take the activation shot. When I called the on call line again, the nurse argued with me that I had been told by the doctor. After I had a positive pregnancy test, I was not called for any follow-up appointments. I was supposed to have ultrasounds (I was unaware of this). So the pregnancy ended, but I carried around an empty sac because I did not miscarry. It took 3 months for another doctor to figure out what happened and I had to have a d&c.

He [Dr. George Attia] seemed to be rushing. He also seemed ready to move right into IVF ...I did not receive many details, just that he want to proceed with a medicated IUI or IVF transferring two...He tends to look more at the monitor than the patient. He did answer all of my questions, but being a newbie I didn't have that many.
It is a hospital based clinic [UHealth Reproductive and Fertility Center] so my insurance charged me for my HSG, it could have been free and of course they didn't tell me that. I got an ice surprise bill later. It is a small office with lots of patients. When you call you usually get to speak to someone just probably not the nurse or doctor or not las you request...She [nurse] seemed overwhelmed...I did not receive many details, just that he want to proceed with a medicated IUI or IVF transferring two.
