George Attia

Dr. Attia is very knowledgeable, he is not as warm as maybe what Hispanics are used to but he knows his craft, he has a very good resume. He was director of the gynecology department at the University of Texas. Dr. Attia has a very calm demeanor which is helpful since the stress of trying to conceive can be stressful. When I am in his office I feel like I am in good hands.

Do your research, come with questions written down.

My gynecologist had prescribed clomid which was not effective. Dr. Attia prescribed femara, he wanted to test this medication out which is stronger than clomid before moving me to injections.

He cares. He can be a bit quick so have your questions ready, but when you have them he takes the time to answer them. He is rooting for you to succeed and doesn't push to the most expensive option first. He is honest when he thinks a course of treatment needs to be adjusted or to move on all together

We tried 4 rounds of IUI. We retested sperm in between the first and second. then we were told to move on that it wasnt working but we could continue as long as we wanted. We then did an egg retrieval and FET.

He is serious but friendly, always a smile on his face which makes everything so much less stressful. He’s confident and that puts me at ease. I think he is very knowledgeable and personable. He’s also very patient which is key. He ensures I understand and he always checks in to see if I have questions I truly appreciate that.

Give him time to warm up to you. He’s friendlier than he looks.

I was given BC on CD2 for 14 days. Once af arrived I started Gonalf 300 and 150 menopur. I had blood test and ultrasounds every other day. I got calls with result day of every test. Meds were adjusted once on cd 7 to 2 times a day as I was a slow responder. 2 days later ultrasound and blood work showed improvement cetrotide was added on Stim day 7 and I’m currently waiting to return on Sunday to do ultrasound and blood

13500 covered everything. My insurance covered so I’m not sure of what to expect yet. Still waiting on retrieval. Right now I just pay copay $35

I have seen a total of 4 doctors in the last 5 years for my DOR that was diagnosed at age 29. Dr. Attia is my current primary fertility doctor after seeing a previous doctor for 2 years. Dr. Attia was the first doctor to offer a new treatment plan to increase my chances to conceive a baby with my own eggs (using HGH and DHEA) after countless canceled medicated IVF rounds with my previous doctor. Though our egg retrieval with Attia was unsuccessful, it was a breath of fresh air to have a new way to approach my treatment. Dr. Attia is a bit' serious, but ultimately likable guy that always shows respect. He speaks directly and has a great bedside manner. He is a great listener, understands your personal schedule and life and tries to work around that as best as possible. He always considers my input and never holds back on his expectations or professional judgement. He is truthful, never forces treatment and takes accountability for his staff and work.

Always ask questions if you need further explanation. Dr. Attia will not hesitate to go in more detail, but from experience asking questions is always why I had more knowledge of my treatment.

Treatment strategy for IVF - DHEA, HGH, menopur and follistim w/ high dosages on menopur and follistim. This was all specific to treating DOR with the hopes to retrieve even just 1 egg. There were low expectations, but this was set straight from the beginning with all parties aware. This was our last straw at IVF without using donor eggs. Throughout the cycle I grew 1 mature follicle and one borderline mature follicle which was more than I had in the 5 previous treatment cycles without using HGH and DHEA (with another doctor). Egg retrieval with Attia resulted in 0 eggs.

HGH was out of pocket. Through my insurance, medications and treatment were covered up to a certain $ amount post deductible.

Not every details or step was discussed with me, unless I did ask specifically. He did ask a lot if I have more questions for him, so his patients better be prepared and do research to be able to ask questions.

Do reseach on all procedures and ask your questions as he is kind enough to answer them all but information may not necessarily come without the patient asking the questions.

Stimulation with Gonal F and Menopur injections. Got two embryos after first retrieval. Did embyo transfer did not grow them to blastocyte. Doctor said his believe is that the human body is the better environment than the lab dish for the embryos to survive. Did not do PGS testing, as we only had two embryos. On second IVF cycle he used the same medication regimen just altered the dosages a little and added growth hormone. We retrieve five eggs and ended up with no viable embryo. He next suggested donor eggs.

Clinic was very accomodationg to my work schedule so i could choose the time within their 'monitoring window' that would work best for me.

paid $10,500 for the first cycle (package, all inclusive, of course excluding meds and we didn't do PGS testing). the second cycle $9,800

For my age and this is documented in subject's literature two embryo transfer is acceptable, especially as they were not tested.

The dr. is nice but feels very very rushed. His nurse is also nice but very very rushed. I didn't completely feel that everything was explained to me thoroughly. Returning phone calls is a weakness of this clinic. Also, the front office gave me different answers than the nursing staff which made it very confusing. When I first met with the dr. he seemed very positive and upbeat. He always greeted me with a smile. The office wait is always really long and they are hardly ever on time.

Be prepared to wait and be persistent with communications with this office. Ask questions until you get an answer.

Antagonist protocol. 8 days of stims on high doses of menopur and gonal-f. They ordered the correct amount of meds and made sure that I didn't have to over pay for extra meds I wouldn't need.

This office does monitoring appointments before noon so you just have to show up and wait your turn. You could be there for 30 minutes to 2 hours just waiting.

Dr. Attia was the cheapest dr that I found in the area.

We did PGS testing and he would want us to only do SET.

he is very nice and kind, but since he has to see so many people for the same reason maybe sometimes i didn't feel like he was warm enough for me. i went to him because some of my friends went with him and got positive results, but it wasn't my case. some nurses are not nice at all, some are more compassionate. i would like to try again with him because he already knows me and knows what happened previously and he can work based on that.

ask all the questions you have, never ever keep a dude

it was a regular protocol of stimulation and egg retrieval because apparently everything was fine with me, just unexplained infertility, but we end up knowing my hormones levels were very low. i remember using meropur, cetrotide, trigger shot, and the progesterone.

they charge 10,500 for IVF, plus medicine on the side, medicine we paid to the pharmacy.

his preference is 2 embryo transfer

Dr. Attia was very direct and to the point. Which can be good but I did not feel a personal connection to him. I felt like all appointments with him were rushed on the occasions that I saw him. As you know during fertility treatments you can pretty much visit the clinic three to five times in a week. I would say that I only saw him about two times in any given week until I reached the end of my journey. Then he would be accompanied by other doctors. Whether interns or visiting doctors. For my first sonogram to determine if I was having one or two babies there were about four to five doctors in the ultra sound room. On that first visit we were unable to hear the heartbeats due to the babies still being too small. Even though Dr. Attia reassured me it was still too soon with the room being full of people I didn't know it was very uncomfortable and emotional for me.

Do not be turned off by his bedside manner he is brilliant at what he does.

My fertility treatments began January 1, 2016 with birth control pills. I took the pills for about 3 weeks. Then I began Lupron ( don't remember the exact dosage) I began stims on feb 12 decreasing the dosage of lupron and adding gonal f and menapur to the injections. Trigger of Noval was feb 22 at 11:20 pm and egg retrieval was feb 24 at 8am. 24 eggs were retrieved 15 matured 11 tested using PDg testing. Only 2 embryos were viable and they were transferred on feb 24. Resulting in a twin pregnancy. My babies are just about 6 months old now and perfectly healthy.

Dr. Attia is very direct which is not bad he tells you everything without a round about way but he has excellent bedside manner. He gave his medical opinion but also provided me with the knowledge needed for all my options.

Ask all of the questions you have. Leave the office without any doubt in your mind.

For the retrieval I was on gonal f 75 , menopur 75 and the dosage would change every few days depending on my ultrasound and blood results. The doctor would complete a blood test and ultrasound ever 3 days during my retrieval. I am currently in the process of transfer.

Due to my diabetic diagnosis it would be too much of a high risk to do a multiple embryo transfer.

Dr. Attia is a competent doctor. He performed the treatment in a professional manner. He does not oversee his office staff and nurses appropriately. That is a problem. Patient treatment suffers because of it.

There are many other options in South Florida. I would see someone else.

He seemed to be rushing. He also seemed ready to move right into IVF and wanted to put two, which per recommendations is 1 too many. He tends to look more at the monitor than the patient. He did answer all of my questions, but being a newbie I didn't have that many. My new doctor did a much better job explains my test results and found an error in one of the test. Other people that I know have used him successfully but he just wasn't the right fit for me.

I recommend a new patient come read with their questions, state they don't want students in their consultation, and have their mind set on the number of embryos the want transferred.

I did not receive many details, just that he want to proceed with a medicated IUI or IVF transferring two. It was overwhelming.

He treated me with compassion and respect. He understood the difficulties and emotional pain we’ve experienced. He was very thorough as well with tests he ordered and his plan for us. He has many years of experience as well and has given many women with infertility their miracles.

To have as much lab results as possible so he can be helpful from the beginning instead of waiting for more test results.

Just started consultations, we start IUI soon. It was explained well!

We paid for my hsg and my husbands analysis. We will he paying soon for iui.

The doctor is very knowledgeable about everything he does, is very kind, understanding and dedicated, he is a very good doctor, since he is warm with his patients, cheerful and very willing to help, the girls who work in the office are very dedicated and kind, for me that is my second clinic that I attended is very good indeed. I achieved it the first time I was more than pleased.

Do it

My treatment was complex since I had few embryos due to my low ovulation. But the doctor knew how to do it and I took the best decision in the world to put the embryos in me on the third day, thus getting pregnant.

He is the best.

I enjoyed that he got straight to the point. He was compassionate. Easy to talk to. My husband wasn't able to make one meeting and he allowed me to facetime my husband in on our meeting and explained everything to us both. I greatly appreciated that.
