Dr Starks is very direct. That doesn’t offend me - I prefer directness instead of sugar-coating or talkikg around things. I trust him because he’s been an RE for decades and he knows what he’s doing. He is confident without being arrogant. I always feel listened to. He was also very clear on risks of twins/triplets with certain treatments.

Be prepared for his frankness. He speaks bluntly, which again I actually appreciate, because I felt he was being honest.

After “cleaning out” endometriosis (aka surgery), we tried Femara 5mg with IUI x3. I responded well (had 2-3 follicles each time) but no pregnancy. Then we did IUI with Femara 2.5mg + injectables and IUI x2. We could have done another IUI with Femara and injectables but decided to instead make an IVF consult appt with Dr Starks, which will be in a few weeks.

My insurance does not cover fertility treatment. They do help with labs and ultrasounds. With insurance, labs were less than $20/cycle; ultrasound $50/cycle. Uncovered by insurance: IUI $205/cycle, Femara less than $10/cycle I think, injectable meds $400-600/cycle.

We have not had a consult for IVF yet, so I do not know.

Dr. Starks is straight-forward with a sense of humor that enlightens infertility appointments and treatments. He is very knowledgeable and approachable, and as a patient, I felt very valued and cared for. I felt very knowledgeable with our diagnosis and our recommended next steps!

Don’t wait! He’s well liked and it takes a couple months to get a consultation appointment.

IVF cycle with ICSI - we had an unsuccessful round that resulted in one embryo that didn’t implant. I don’t recall any specific protocols for this cycle but he had confirmed due to diminished ovarian reserve and concern with egg quality, that if we proceed with cycle #2 there will be a different protocol used

Our IVF cycle cost around $15000 total with little to no insurance coverage. Unfortunately I don’t have the exact cost of each treatment available at the moment.

Dr. Starks protocol was that they wouldn’t transfer more than 2, but recommended 2 if able to - we agreed with this approach

Dr. Starks is very knowledgeable. He interacts with patients mostly at important junctions, and not at typical appointments, but his team staffs with him regularly. We really appreciate is complex understanding of the various conditions, testing, and treatment options. We've learned so much in the past couple of years, and were misinformed by our previous doctor.

Be prepared to undergo surgeries to give your body the best chance to conceive prior to starting a cycle with him.

Dr. Starks tried a variety of protocols on us from the use of steroid and hormone pills to various hormone injections. I don't remember specifics, but I do remember that he was able to narrow down what worked for us and why others didn't very quickly and accurately.

This clinic provided discounts for in-office visits if you didn't have insurance which would cover it. They also helped get discounts on medications, and were knowledgeable about the prices at various pharmacies. What we paid for treatment at this clinic are comparable to most other clinics.

I love my clinic. I have used only 1 other doctor to help me get started but that was just an OB/GYN. Dr. Starks is VERY knowledgeable and has many many years of experience. He doesn’t cut corners nor does he sugar coat things. Personally, that is how I like it. We have PCOS and severe male factor...Dr. Starks told us from the get go that it would be a waste of our time and money to attempt any medicated cycles or IUI’s and he suggested we start IVF as soon as we were ready. We were not shocked with that information, we almost expected it, and we did just that. Brandi, his nurse, was able to get us into the next group of IVF which was less than a month away. The staff he has have been with him for quite a long time as well which made me feel better. When staff have good communication, usually, they are able to communicate very well with patients too. Unfortunately my transfer has been postponed due to COVID-19 but my clinic has been pretty good about keeping us updated or answering any questions we have in the meantime. I have a few friends who have been looking for RE recommendations and I am NOT hesitant about giving them Dr. Starks name.

Do not assume he is mean. Dr. Starks gets right down too it- no bs. If you’re “sensitive” or you’re feelings are easily hurt, he’s not for you.

Since patients are batched together everyone goes to an initial IVF injection class. In that class everyone gets their individualized protocols. Our specific protocol was the Lupron protocol so I took birth control, Lupron, Follistim, Micro dose HCG, Pregnyl, and Progesterone in oil. He chose that protocol for us when we weren’t around so I couldn’t tell you exactly why he chose that specific protocol but I’m sure if I would have asked they would have told me. At egg retrieval: 20 retrieved 14 were mature 11 fertilized 1- day 5 blast 4- day 6 5 sent to be frozen all together Waiting to transfer due to COVID-19

No complaints about monitoring appointments. They were quick and easy. In the beginning I was having issues with my cervix lining thinning out so I was easily able to get an extra monitoring appointment for 2 days later at the last minute.

I had insurance so everything was billed through them first but we were billed for everything like a normal visit would be with any other doctor. Visit, labs, ultrasound, etc. I haven’t noticed anything “wrong” with my billing thus far.

I am 23. My husband is 25. Dr. Starks suggested we transfer one but he was not SUPER opposed to transferring 2. He did, however, say that he did not suggest having our embryos PGS tested because we were young and healthy individuals. He had a chart explaining why or when he would recommend PGS testing so we did opt not to PGS test.

I appreciated his level of expertise and years of experience. I truly felt like he incorporates as many new treatment options as possible and I felt that he had the end in mind of helping us get pregnant. In my initial consultation he came off as arrogant, but I appreciated that because it meant he was going to do all he could to ensure we got pregnant. Then next few times I saw him during treatments, he was very warm and kind and got the job done. I am incredibly thankful to him and his amazing staff.

Don’t expect him to give you warm-fuzzy feelings if something is wrong. He will tell you how it is, but he follows up with alternative plans that are still aligned with yours. I loved this about him because I knew I was going to get a straight answer from him and he wasn’t going to sugar coat anything.

We did a cycle of IVF. We used birth control pills, started me on thyroid meds and low dose aspirin, Dexamethasone, estradiol, follistim, HCG, ganirelix, and progesterone in oil. Since this was our first cycle and I had a decent AMH I believe I was put on a generic protocol. I believe if/when we do another round, it would be more tailored to what they now know about me and my body.

It was like a cattle-call but it was a very well oiled machine. As long as you were there on time, they got you in and out without any hiccups. It was nice to not spend a lot of time waiting around.

Without any insurance benefits associated with infertility treatments, it cost us around 12-15 thousand dollars for an IVF round.

I felt that they strongly suggested that people implant two embryos. However, by the grace of God, we had two “textbook embryos” so I was told if we put one in, the chances of it taking were very good. They absolutely let you choose as long as it is a safe choice for your body.

Dr. Starks initially does a consult with his patients... after that the norm is that his nurse practitioner takes over named Brandi. Brandi is amazing but she will be doing the IUI and communication for Dr. Starks. She runs protocols and labs by the doc but overall performs for him. We’ve developed our relationship 99% due to Brandi, the nurse practitioner. She is punctual, quick with response in email, and has 100% bed side manners while still contributing to the bluntness this situation involves. She strives to meet the patient at their level too - being I am in the medical profession I really want this. I didn’t expect to see Dr. Starks so absent in our journey but then again, I’m not opposed to his nurse taking it over either. I 100% trust her with all of me. I feel like I cannot accurately review Dr. Starks at this time. He claims within 3x IUIs he will achieve pregnancy rates of 66%. I am truly hesitant to believe this based on national statistics.

Ask questions at your consult. Join a Facebook group for infertility so that you can acquire such questions. Make sure you have easy access to communication with SOMEONE, likely a nurse. I wish I asked this question, “are you open on weekends?” Because my clinic is NOT open on weekends this makes my trips harder. Another good question, “Are labs and ultrasounds scheduled anytime due a day?” In my case, no. They are not. They are only allowed M-F from 8:30am-11:30am. So guess what? Very inconvenient for me as a business owner serving my own clients with last second switching of my schedule. Luckily I can do that... but expect at minimum one ultrasound a month and another appointment for IUI procedure. Since we are now more invasive, our protocol currently involved 2-3 ultrasounds and then another appointment for IUI.

So... we are unexplained but the norm of PCOS and endometriosis typically follows. You need a consult to begin anything. After that you obviously need a workup on both you and your spouse - in other words - blood, semen analysis. Some (we did) involves scoping out more detail exams such as HCG (are your tubes blocked? Do you have a unique uterus?) and SHG (do you have polyps?). Next is a protocol - typically this involves IUI the least invasive possible. Dr. Starks claims he can get 66% women pregnant in 3 months of IUI. I can not vouch for this as we are month 4 with unexplained infertility. So there is that. Take meds, do IUI. This typically involves two appointments a month - one for ultrasound on progress and one for the actual procedure.

We suck... literally the only coverage we had was basically that our ultrasounds were $67 because that is the allowable for blue cross. The IUI was technically about $250. We had coverage for pharmacy for clomid making it $10 a month. Follistim are about $500 and trigger $72-$80 depending on which company the nurse suggests. Listen to her because she truly knows the cheapest route. Some months involve 2-3 follicle scans whereas our first 3 IUIs meant one, semen analysis was approximately $100. We started labs at the office and we are unsure of costs on those as we have a work nurse practitioner that did them previously.

He’s kind and explains everything in great detail. I’m an RN and wanted to thoroughly understand my diagnoses, and I always left with a thorough understanding. If questions came up after I left the office, a quick phone call would answer them.

I was told that “if you can get pregnant at all, Dr. Starks is the one who can assure you leave his office pregnant.”

I was put on birth control, then had surgery for endometriosis (stage 4). Also had a fibroid removed at that time. Got a high dose of Lupron in the recovery room. 5 months of menopause. Did 1 round of IUI with letrozole and HCG trigger shot. Found a polyp on U/S during that cycle. Put on birth control again and had a sonohysterogram. Had surgery to remove polyp. Did another round of IUI with letrozole and HCG trigger shot, and found a low/declining sperm count. Seeing urologist for male factor infertility now.

We were without insurance and have spent roughly $18,500 out of pocket.

Dr. Starks was very straightforward with diagnosing. He Answered all of our concerns even the small once patiently since English isn't our mother language so my husband & I needed more explanation with some medical terms. Since the first visit, he could reduce my stress about IVF.

In February's period (2\22\19), Nurse Oude told to start taking BCP along with prenatal & folic acid & baby aspirin. I asked If I can take fish oil and Vitamin D3, she approved. we had 5 sono&lab from 2\27 through 3\13. On 2\21 stopped BCP. On 2\22 through 3\13 My husband was on Doxy, I was on Dex& Lupron. On 3\3 I started taking Follistim & low dose HCG. The egg retrieval day was on 3\15. The empires(our babies) are frozen. We did not do the transfer yet.

We were lucky and the treatment was covered by the insurance.

Dr. Starks suggested that we transfer one embryo at the time claims that it is easier for the mom to carry and give birth for one instead of two, however, we want to transfer two.

We only met with Dr. Starks for our initial consultation. Never saw him after that. Dr. Starks nurse Brandi called all the shots. She prescribed medications, performed my 3 IUI's, and answered questions. I don't feel like I had a doctor caring for or about me. Just a nurse practitioner who sometimes came across nonchalant.

I'd say just have a plan B if things are not going as you would like at this clinic.

IUI#1 letrozole 5mg at bedtime cycle day 3 for 5 days. Trigger shot same day as insemination=BFN IUI #2 letrozole 5mg at bedtime cycle day3-7. Insemination 24hrs after trigger shot. =BFN IUI#3 Clomid 50mg at bedtime cycle day3 for 5days. Insemination 36hr after trigger. =BFN *I had a low Progesterone of 5 after IUI and they would NOT prescribe progesterone supplements.

Cost were reasonable,but you get what you pay for.

Dr. Gregory Starks has been absolutely wonderful! He means business and is blunt - I like that! He wont waste your time with treatments that aren't going to work for you. When I had my miscarriage - he held me while I cried. I truly feel like he cares and wants to help me become a mom.

Listen to him. Don't take offense to how honest and blunt he is. It is refreshing and I like it. He is the best of the best.

First 3 IUI - Letrozole, Dexamethasone, HCG trigger shot IUI 4-6 - 150 IU Stim shots, Dexamethasone, HCG trigger shot Attempted IUI 7 but too many cysts to proceed treatment. I have unexplained infertility and Dr. Starks told me that normal/healthy couples that can get pregnant on their own should get pregnant with the oral med (letrozole) and IUI. We did not expect it not to work for me. IUI 4-6 - I responded really well to the stim shots and got pregnant on the 5th IUI but miscarried.

Dr. Starks is clearly knowledgeable and set in his ways when it comes to treatments. He has a funny/sarcastic humor about him which I like but he is also very blunt with you. I don't mind though, I'd rather have the facts!

To go in prepared, if you have questions that he doesn't like, prepare yourself with WHY you are asking those questions. Have some thick skin because he'll probably tell you something you don't want to hear at some point. But he means well.

After I had surgery with Dr. Starks the plan was to use Letrozole since I had previously gotten pregnant from that. Though as time went on and 4 rounds of letrozole failed, we began to introduce Follistim and IUI to the protocol. Since my ovaries are "stubborn" as they said, they gave me a decent dose of Follistim & letrozole together. My first round of this resulted in a canceled cycle and a canceled IUI due to overstimulation. Birth control was recommended to keep my ovaries from getting cysts. After that, 2 more attempts at IUI and both resulted in negative pregnancy tests.

Every follicle scan cost $200, every IUI cost $205. Injections classes cost $75.

Dr Starks, is a very blunt and to the point person. He wants to make sure that every test that could give him a clear picture is done, and if it was done before he wants to do it again to ensure that nothing was missed or nothing changed. While his bedside manner is a bit blunt, he is very knowledgeable and will try and figure out a solution to most every problem.

Be prepared to be told the good, bad and the ugly, Dr Starks does not sugar coat if you are overweight and he feels you need to loose weight.

I did two cycles, one with gonal f 175 for 5 days and femara 5mg for 5 resulting in an IUI which failed and a second iui with gonal f for 10 days and femara 7.5 for 5 days with an iui which failed.

Iui was 350 for just the iui, which was not covered by my insurance. Everything else, including monitoring was covered by my insurance so I am unsure of the price of much else.

Dr. Starks is honest and to the point. He was recommended to me by another patient of his who had twins through IVF. She warned me that he doesn't sugar coat anything and if it's not going to work he will tell you. He won't dance around tough subjects and always made me feel very hopeful. I feel lucky to have found him for our care.

Ask questions, research and go in ready to get to work. The process is long because he only schedules IVF procedures every other month. This can make waiting very hard. Know this going in though to save some of the headache.

I'm not 100% sure about everything we used for our initial round of IVF in 2014. I believe it was just a typical protocol. I did need a laparoscopy prior to my IVF cycle which held up the process. For my current FET cycled we've added blood thinners and additional estrogen due to my previous loses.

Total for IVF we spent a bit over $15,000 and that includes that laparoscopy that I needed. For our FET's they were around $5,000 each.

Initially, I was encouraged to do two embryos because of my age. We put in two and only one took. We currently have a perfect 2 year old. For our next FET cycle I was encouraged to only put in one due to risk of twins. We listened and it took but sadly we lost that baby pretty early. I'm currently in the middle of an FET with our last remaining embryo.

Dr Starks was excellent at explaining in details why something did or didn't work. He also clearly covered nextbsteps so that they could be understood.He made every visit comfortable and gave hope when it was needed most.

We started with surgery to remove my endometriosis and cysts on my ovaries.. also to make sure my tubes were open. I was diagnosed with stage 4 endometriosis. We started with 3 rounds of IUI and they were unsuccessful. Eggs were produced but the damage from the endo prevented them from connecting with sperm. From this point we moved on to IVF.. upon pre-testing found a polyp in my uterus and chose to go ahead and start meds and retrieve eggs.. freeze them.. and have polyp removed before implanting. We agreed frozen eggs would give us the best chance versus surgery, meds, retrieval and implant. Implant of 2 embryos was successfull and we welcomed twins 9 months later.

It was very reasonable compared to other clinics.

Dr Starks is a straight shooter and I believe, honest. He definitely has a plan which is comforting and doesn't waste time. He only does what is necessary. So far everything he's done has been on point and has made sense. But that's what we wanted. We wanted a Dr. with a plan and explanation for it. We have done 3 IUIprocedures and hoping for a positive this last round as I had 3 mature follicles on letrozole, but thankful we have a diagnosis from The previous "unexplained infertility" by a previous R.E. Worth that second opinion and enhanced quality of life since my Laperoscopy and Lupron-depot for stage 4 endometriosis

If you're looking to have a counseling session or be babied, he's probably not going to do that. When you go see him, be ready to hear the truth. He's there to get the job done, not drag things out, and knows his stuff. His nurses and staff are great, too! They have always promptly returned calls. They are all very genuine people.

Tested hormones and ca-125 after looking at a very in depth medical history questionnaire. He suspected endometriosis right away just looking at my medical history, though. Laperoscopy (dx and cleaning of Endo)and Lupron-depot(hormone suppression) for a clean slate to start fertility procedures. Laperoscopy confirmed stage 4 endometriosis. My body restarted from hormone suppression with "the pill", slowly but surely.(3 months) Birth control pill to build lining, have a "period" and then I started IUI with letrozole. I was happy he doesn't just offer every patient clomid as I've learned it's not the best for my smaller frame.

This office just charges what is necessary. Our iui's were way cheaper than the last RE quoated us.

Dr. Starks is very knowledgeable about all things infertility, but he sees a lot of patients so it's not as "personalized" as I would have liked. He's VERY compassionate and easy to talk to but you have to be ready to ask questions and take notes or he'll breeze right through what he's telling you (probably because he talks about it all day long). I wasn't very knowledgeable going in to a lot of the appointments so in hindsight I wish I would have researched a bit more so I knew exactly what he was talking about. His nurse Brandi is literally the best - you can call or email her and she'll respond the same day almost always. That was a relief when you're in the middle of a cycle freaking out over something. You'll usually see her for most appointments, so it's great she's so personal.

Research a bit before coming so you understand terms he uses.

Dr. Starks will always start you on a medicated cycle without treatment (clomid/letrozole without an IUI) first. He only let me go 3 rounds since I have stage 4 endometriosis and didn't want to risk the stuff he cleared out building back up. He cleared me out with surgery first. Then, we went on to injectable cycles with IUIs. I much preferred this because it generally produces more follicles and is more controlled. When you go in to check how large your follicles are, if they are any where above 30mm he'll cancel your cycle because it puts you at risk. I had to cancel an IUI once which was frustrating but I was glad he was keeping my safety a priority.

I like Dr. Starks. He is straight forward, but also optimistic when talking to his patients. We’ve been with for several years. We were successful on our first fresh transfer. There have been more hiccups while trying to have more children. My body can be complicated, but he’s not giving up yet!

Dr. Starks only utilizes proven treatment. If you read internet blogs and have a list of things that other women have done, he may not be receptive to them all. If it’s experimental or unproven, he won’t use it.

We transferred two embryos our first fresh transfer, which resulted in twins. He’s more conservative with us now, and recommends eSET. He would likely allow a multiple transfer if we pressed , since we’ve had a couple of failed transfers. I don’t think he allows multiple transfers if the embryos are PGS tested.

Dr. Starks is a great, confident doctor. He made my surgery as easy as possible and has treated me accordingly to my issues. He is blunt but caring. He is clear on instructions and feedback. My experience as a patient has been very positive and I feel that I’m receiving the best care possible.

Be ready to accept the facts because dr. Starks is blunt and tells you exactly how it is.

He completed a surgery that removes any cysts and endometriosis. He then put me on clomid with injections to help make my follicles big enough for ovulation.

We have insurance so that covers some of the ultrasounds and doctor visits. I believe the ultrasounds are normally about $300.

Dr.starks is very informative and makes sure he reviews all options to know what will be best for the patient. He takes his time to answer all your questions and ensures your comfortable with everything before getting started. He is pretty blunt and doesn't sugarcoat anything.

Be ready for blunt answers. Dr. Starks doesn't try and spare your feelings in stead he gives accurate and straightforward facts to ensure you know what could happen during the process.

Kathy is so sweet and is very quick and thorough. She always used small talk to pass the time. She great!

There were fees for meds which went to an outside company. Fees for retrieval, the transfer, insisted and monitoring.

We only had two embryos and we decided to transfer them both. I wish we would've done one at a time because when my transfer failed I was devastated and didn't have any more embryos to try again. I think this is something that should be discussed with the patient.

Dr. Starks is a wonderful, compassionate doctor. I felt very comfortable in his care- both for my endometriosis surgery and for our IUI treatment. He gave us options, discussed pros and cons, and respected our decisions. He responded quickly with answers to our questions.

Hang in there during this difficult time in your life. Write down your list of questions before each appointment and take notes so you don’t forget.

I had surgery for stage 4 endometriosis in 12/2011. We did our first cycle of IUI in January 2012. Dr. Starks recommended Follistim to help with follicle production due to my advanced maturnal age. We only needed 1 cycle of IUI because I got pregnant and we ended up with beautiful twin girls!!!!

He was a caring doctor but I felt not aggressive enough. We did so many cycles and kept getting the same results with the same treatment. Would have much rather gone on to ivf then keep spending money on a protocol that wasn’t working for us.

Dr. Starks is a fantastic doctor with a great bedside manner. He listed to our concerns and made us feel comfortable with what the next steps were. We never felt rushed or like another dollar to him. He was personable and down to earth. Would definitely return if further treatment was ever needed!

My treatment was fairly simple. I had a clubbed tube with the other tube being partially blocked. He performed a laparoscopic, out patient, procedure to remove the clubbed tube and clean out the remaining tube. That was the end of October and after 6 years of infertility and miscarriages​, we delivered a full term, healthy baby girl the following December!

Dr. Starks showed my husband & I nothing less than politeness and respect as his Patients however he shown compassion most of all to a couple who would love and do anything as well as deserve to be able receive Gods most precious gift of all, and at least a potential chance of being someones mommy and daddy.. Dr. Starks was very considerate to my husband and I, as well as people very close to us. Doctor Starks treated us fairly and without discrimination. He truly is in our opinion the very best Physician for treatment.

Just be open and willing to recieve all news, regardless of any outcome.

Dr. Starks informed my husband and I after receiving the results from my primary care physician and after running a few tests determined that I would need to have a surgery due to a dermoid tumor on my ovary when that was taking place, Dr Starks proceeded to try and unblock my tube which is my one and only tube now, due to previously losing my right tube as well as being pregnant in that tube all at the same time so with that being said, I have the one tube he was able to forcefully shoot dye into my only tube to able to determine what steps we were going to need to take after the surgery was completed. Results ended up being the only possible way to be parents ever in life is to have IVF due to the blocked tube, discovery of having severe endometriosis, which is very upsetting, we have tried for over 12 years now and this new news was devastating to me and saying that is an understatement, however Dr star kept my husband and I very informed of everything and he was very confident and is very confident in the procedure of IVF do to my eggs are healthy my uterus is 100% good given the circumstances and with the surgery being prior to this we would have been able to have had IVF treatment which has never had actually happened still at that time we received the bill from Doctor starts office and since it and submitted it to our insurance company which was actually through my husband's employer and all at the same week or two weeks we lost our insurance and due to that we were unable to pay the remaining balance of our bill.I would give anything to go back into time and fix any mistakes or steps repeated again or just time so it may in fact result in at least a chance of being a mom. I just want it so bad, and time isent slowing down which everyday passing makes it harder and more devastating for me knowing i may never be able to share or take part in knowing what unconditional love from mother and child is like or will ever be like.

Dr. Starks mentioned to my husband and I that he believed no I'm sorry that he was 100% certain that IVF would take it the first time that we ever tried which was very reassuring and promising at the time

Dr. Starks was very professional and straightforward during our consultation. Dr. Starks is very high recommended. Dr. Starks allowed my husband and I to skip a month of IUI to start injectables with IUI. Dr. Starks was able to listen to our wants and needs.

If you want to have Dr. Starks perform your procedures, all you have to do is ask. You might have to wait a little longer but you just need to ask.

During my first IUI, I was on letrozole for 5 days and trigger shot. Negative test. My second IUI, I was on letrozole for 7 days, dexamethasone for 30 days, and trigger shot. Negative test. I will be starting letrozole again tonight for five days, dexamethasone for 30 days, and injectables in two days for five days

All of my ultrasounds and bloodwork were mostly covered by my insurance. The IUI was $200

Dr. Starks was kind and patient with all my questions. He didn’t sugar coat things but left me feeling hopeful and understanding the plan moving forward.
