CNY doesn’t let you choose a doctor. That sort of happens if you go to one of the smaller locations like Buffalo but in Syracuse it doesn’t. My transfer showed in the portal that the transfer was with Dr. Corley but I was pleased to see Dr. Banerjee instead. Lots of the care is handled by nurses, NPs or PAs and they’re the best. Doctors are seldom involved but I have very few complaints about that. Every once in a while there’s a lack of communication and it feels like they didn’t talk to each other but that happens with my primary too so I can’t knock them for it.

Conveyor belt. I felt like I was part of a game of bingo - where everyone wishes you an empty "good luck" but doesn't actually help you to understand. And the person who called me to tell me that less than 50% of my retrieved eggs were mature - terrible news to receive - I wept most of the day - sounded like she was reading a menu. The lack of explanation and compassion was truly shocking. And then she had the gall to say that I could make an appointment with the provider if I wanted! With no "he can explain it better." So zero explanation or rhyme or reason given or comfort offered and then it was lithely suggested I could speak to the least communicative person in the entire clinic for .... goodness knows what.

I was looking for an affordable out-of-pocket and straight-forward process to start my fertility journey after my insurance company and medical provider stated that they only offer egg freezing for what they termed as medical necessities (such as for chemotherapy patients). So far, I am happy with the transparency in costs and communication from the clinic. I requested a consultation online, a representative called me a week later, and they scheduled me for their first available appointment which was a few months away. But I asked to be put priority list for any canceled appointments, and I was able to get an early morning consultation a week later. It's important to complete your medical history before the consultation. The patient portal and forms I had to complete online were easy to complete, and I am able to upload any test results I have already completed.

Dr. Banerjee is located within another doctor office and only has one nurse and one patient room. He does consultations and ultrasounds out of Winchester but IUI, sperm analysis, and IVF must be done at their office in Charlottesville, VA.

CNY is reasonably priced and great communicators. It is close to home so that is a plus for us. The only down side I feel is I don’t have one nurse, it’s a nursing team and I could see someone falling to through the cracks if you didn’t stay on top of your treatments.

Informed and willing to work with you. Either through emails, voice-mail or zooms. I can not say more at this time because I am not too far into treatment. But I feel they will be supportive and helpful to helping achieving a good transfer.

The biggest weakness is that this is a satellite office (the main office is in Charlottesville, VA). This means that some things, such as IUI and IVF, are only offered in the main office which is a much farther drive for me.
