Describe the protocols Jaye Adams used in your cycles at Fertility Center of San Antonio and their degree of success.
After my first miscarriage through natural conceptions in 2019, Dr. Adams described the necessary procedure, the risks, and the post care needed. She also prescribed a minor laser surgery to remove polyps from my uterus to allow an embryo to attach more firmly. She explained in detail all the next steps after my myomectomy and the post care associated with embryo transfer. She explained the meds I needed to take. She is very knowledgeable.

Dr Adams was not in a particular rush. Spoke calmly, explained as much as possible...I felt she did her job as expected. How was your experience with Jaye Adams at Fertility Center of San Antonio?
No issues with Dr Adams directly. She was a cog in the wheels of the clinic and process and I felt she did her job as expected. I wouldn't be averse to using her as a doctor in the future but more likely at a different setting.
What's one piece of advice would you give a prospective patient of Jaye Adams at Fertility Center of San Antonio?
Prepare yourself as much as possible by researching and ask ask ask questions. Tons of questions. Make sure you fully understand the timetables involved. Educate yourself to the maximum.

Skipped IUI and went directly to IVF as our goal was to get pregnant as quickly as possible. We did all of the prerequisite testing in an attempt to rule out specific fertility issues but when everything came back normal there were no paths to follow.
Describe your experience with the nursing staff at Fertility Center of San Antonio.
The process here for nursing care seems haphazard. I wouldn't say that any of them were particularly rude or uncaring but this is a clinic and they get paid by processing patients. Some of them seem to have forgotten exactly what they are doing and treat it more like a factory, seem to be perturbed at questions and requests for clarifications. They miss call backs, medication call ins, meeting setups. You have to be on top of them to be on top of their processes.
Describe your experience with Fertility Center of San Antonio.
Good: The clinic is conveniently located in the Medical Center area of San Antonio. Plenty of parking and not overly expensive but the clinic does not validate parking so you will have to pay. It is located at the end of the building on an upper floor so it is quiet with a large waiting area. Everything is right there so there is no need to traverse other floors or locations for any work. Easy access to all of your test results and documentation online. Bad: All staff except for the actual doctors seem to treat the place as a factory. Other than the "primary" doctor you are assigned you don't meet the other doctors or technicians until they come into whatever procedure room, introduce themselves, perform the procedure then disappear. The phlebotomist at the time acted as if they were being putout when you were required to have blood drawn for labs. Nurses don't respond to messages sent through their online portal even though the office pushes patients to use the portal. This may be a result of no assigned primary nurse so you have to send messages to each and every nurse and hope someone replies. A patients care team is literally the ENTIRE team. You might think that is a good thing but then if there are 10 nurses you have zero continuity and each one has to look through charts and you hope they don't miss something. Human error factor is real here so you have to know every single detail about your treatment yourself. Either because they have become so comfortable or because they know they have you locked in once you sign up there are privacy and security lapses during phases of treatments. I have seen women up in stirrups having any one of checks or procedures but a nurse, who is not part of that care situation, will non-nonchalantly enter the room to find something, then exit all the while the door is open to the hallway with whomever passing by and able to view a woman in a very vulnerable moment. The single biggest drawback to this clinic is/was their response to COVID. They moved to a model where the patient and patient ONLY was allowed in the waiting area or beyond during appointments/treatments/consultations. Spouses/Partners/noone was allowed inside the primary office doors to the waiting area much-less into any of the rooms for consults or procedures. This was the absolute reason we decided to cease treatment. Luckily for us the change in procedures occurred at the late stages of our initial treatment plan but there was no way my spouse was going to deal with the emotional and physical effort involved in this alone when it was not even remotely required. Just an arbitrary set of rules created by this establishment. I'm sure they claim it is for everyone's safety but while i was forced to wait out in the building hallways I couldn't count the number of UPS, FEDEX, USPS, direct courier and Food Delivery people I watched walk in, move about the counters delivering and picking up parcels, etc.
Describe the costs associated with your care under Jaye Adams at Fertility Center of San Antonio.
Package price on the order of $5500 for full IVF treatment. Short term freezing of embryo's/sperm was included but something like over 30 days (or the end of your fertility treatment cycle) required them to be transferred to a facility or destroyed.

It’s not that Dr. Adams isn’t nice. I just feel like she didn’t know anything about my medical history. She didn’t show me the screen during follicle checks. Never explained my labs or where she wanted the numbers to be. ... You must be assertive concerning your care. I also hope you have a thick skin because I think she commented on my weight at every appointment I had with her. ... If this had been my first experience with fertility treatment, I would have been totally lost about what was going on.
The REI clinic and Brooke Army Medical Center is nice for military affiliated patients because IUI is free there and IVF is significantly reduced. Medications are included free of charge through a grant program for all services. But honestly, I think the care overall is sub-par. ... There was a time they forgot to put the orders in for my labs that were to be completed at 6:00 AM. I had to go sit in the clinic and wait until 7:30 AM when a nurse arrives to put the orders in.

Be ready to do your own research about treatments and labs. You must be assertive concerning your care. I also hope you have a thick skin because I think she commented on my weight at every appointment I had with her.

Appointments felt very rushed. I feel like she didn’t know anything about me at my appointments.
Describe the protocols Jaye Adams used in your cycles at Brooke Army Medical Center and their degree of success.
I did one IUI cycle with letrozole 7.5 mg daily. I had one mature follicle for insemination. Not successful. Then there were two cycles with the same protocol, but were converted to TI because of the holidays and limitations of the clinic. I then did two IUI cycles with 7.5 mg letrozole CD 5-9 and Follistim 75 units CD 10-13. One cycle still resulted in only one mature follicle and the other, two mature for insemination. Both unsuccessful. All three IUI cycles were done with Ovidrel trigger as well.
Describe your experience with the nursing staff at Brooke Army Medical Center.
The nursing staff was fine. They were nice enough, but I wouldn’t say they were “excellent.” I didn’t have too much interaction with the nurses, though.

There was a time they forgot to put the orders in for my labs that were to be completed at 6:00 AM. I had to go sit in the clinic and wait until 7:30 AM when a nurse arrives to put the orders in. There was a time Dr. Adams told me follicle sizes that differed from what she told me at my next follicle check.

Knowledgeable doctor about fertility issues. She [Dr. Jaye Adams] was gentle during the testing and procedure. Straightforward. Just too busy and treated you like another number not a person. Scheduled my iui too late after ovulation....Didn’t get to pick appointments. Last minute changes were frequent. Doctor too busy to see me and had to reschedule at times.
Military clinic [Brooke Army Medical Center]; treats for numbers not compassion; hard to get scheduled for IUI. IVF is the focus of the clinic. Prices go up every year for lower quality service and less doctors.
