[Dr. Jenna McCarthy] is likable but she also speaks to the science. She is extremely knowledgable and shares relevant new studies which is comforting to me. I am assured that she is on top of new literature and presents it to her patients so they can make the best choice for them with her expert opinion...Any procedures done with Dr. McCarthy she instantly puts you at ease and talks you through exactly what she is doing.
At times appointments [at IVF Florida- Jupiter] can be delayed which is difficult when you have to go through this plus hold down your job. One of the strengths is their prompt call backs with any questions or concerns. They are all excellent communicators...The nurses show a lot of compassion. They are always upbeat and have wonderful personalities to get you through some tough things.
How was your experience with Jenna McCarthy at IVF Florida (US Fertility Network clinic)?
Dr. McCarthy is an excellent communicator. Her body language when meeting you and discussing the fertility journey with us at the first appointment instantly put as at ease. My husband's first comment as we left the office was "I can tell you really like her". Yes she is likable but she also speaks to the science. She is extremely knowledgable and shares relevant new studies which is comforting to me. I am assured that she is on top of new literature and presents it to her patients so they can make the best choice for them with her expert opinion.

Dr. McCarthy's bedside manner is exceptional...her specialized care and knowledge of your specific situation don't make you feel like just another number at all...she truly feels like a friend...She has this warmness to her and I feel like she truly does care about each and every one of her patients. When none of our embryos made it freeze, she was the one calling me with this news and offering comfort. When we had our follow up appointment to discuss what went wrong in our egg retrieval cycle, she was direct but gentle when sharing all our information.
Due to my diminished ovarian reserve, we did an aggressive protocol [at IVFMD South Florida Institute For Reproductive Medicine] in hopes of stimulating the microscopic follicles. Unfortunately, this didn't work. I started with 4 eggs at baseline and had 4 eggs retrieved...Carly [nurse] was amazing! During each out my monitoring appointments ahead of egg retrieval she was never in a rush to get me in and out. She answered questions and was so thorough. She was also so encouraging and positive which was so needed during my first cycle.

Describe your experience with IVFMD - Jupiter (Prelude Network clinic).
IVFmd is an amazing practice filled with incredibly talented doctors. The only weakness I see is that they do batch cycles. This is a bit frustrating because it's on their schedule not your own cycle, but it is my understanding that batch cycles are very common in the IVF world. It just takes a little getting used to.

Dr. McCarthy is fantastic at communicating and relating with her patients. No question no matter how small was ever a dumb question. She has come in after hours to see me and cancelled her entire day to perform emergency surgery on me. Her knowledge and experience is a pristine. She is confident but not overly confident in her abilities...all of my FETs I was on a long lupron protocol in order to give my lining extended time to grow. I was also on viagra for my lining with FETs in addition to the PIO, DelEstrogen, Estrace. Once I became pregnant, I started Triple Progesterone treatment as it has been shown to help those with RPL.
[The nurses at IVFMD South Florida Institute for Reproductive Medicine are] Easy to get in touch with, but sometimes difficult to know who to talk to since there wasnt one specific one assigned...Once or twice my calendar did not reflect the changes that Dr. McCarthy and I had personally discussed. The nurse did not update them...We spent around 13 for our fresh cycle not including meds. Meds generally ran 5-6k. For FETs we spent around 5000 plus 3 in meds.

She [Dr. McCarthy] is very thorough and does her due diligence in testing and analysis prior to starting fertility treatments...Used various protocols for the each retrieval and then for frozen egg transfer. All retrieval’s started with regulating menses with birth control. Then with careful monitoring started adding Follistum, then Menopur, and then Cetrotide. Used HCG for trigger. Another time used microdose Lupron prior to stim start...
Carly, my IVF coordinator [at IVFMD South Florida Institute for Reproductive Medicine], has been a god-send. She responds to every email and call that I have and is typically very swift with her responses. She is the glue of the operation...Strengths are their fabulous doctors, clean facilities, wonderful staff and accessibility. One weakness I would say is that they could improve on the education they provide patients on the whole process and medications
How was your experience with Jenna McCarthy at IVFMD - Jupiter (Prelude Network clinic)?
Dr McCarthy is very good at her job. She is able to balance her expertise, training and education with compassion and humor. She Is great about responding to questions and concerns and is always open to any insight and suggestions we bring to the table. During various procedures, she is wonderful at communicating what she is doing and why. She is very cautious and careful and does a thorough evaluation of all potential variables that may be contributing to our inability to have a baby.

Be patient. She is very thorough and does her due diligence in testing and analysis prior to starting fertility treatments.
During treatment, were you treated like a number or a human with Jenna McCarthy at IVFMD - Jupiter (Prelude Network clinic)?
Been able to get to know the staff at the clinic. Typically staff and Doctor are easily accessible and quick to respond to inquiries, concerns, etc. After 2+ years going to this clinic, we have been able to forge relationships with most of the staff. Also, there is very few turnover of staff which is nice. Relatively small office with 2 doctors and appropriate staff so it’s not a huge practice where you see different doctors each time.

She [Dr. McCarthly] is a very educated Dr and follows and stays up to date with research. She listens and is flexiable and really just one of the BEST drs I have ever dealt with in my life. She did surgery on me in 2014 and it was perfect and she was just very helpful and really showed compassion in all of my visits. ... I didn’t do any fertility treatment with Her as I could not afford it, we discussed options for IVF and she did some monitoring and bloodwork for me and surgery on my ovaries on 2014.
The front desk staff [IVFMD-S FL Inst Jupiter] could be a little friendlier, I always sort of felt they had an attitude but once you get past them it’s great! They are helpful just not too friendly compared to the nurses or Drs so it’s a little odd. I’m sure they deal with a lot but we all do. I can’t say though I’ve had much better experiences with desk staff too many other places maybe it’s a trend idk. Overall though still the one of the best experiences.

Dr. McCarthy is a very kind and understanding doctor. We have had a very long journey, and she made us feel like there was still hope. She is very data oriented and monitors you closely. She made me feel safe and reassured me anytime things seemed overwhelming...She is understanding, she listens, and she takes her time going over all test results...currently doing a stim cycle for an egg retrieval. We are using the same protocol as my last cycle because I had a good result...
All of the nurses [at IVFMD South Florida Institute] are very kind and compassionate. They always explain test results and follow up steps. They also are available on the phone or email and always get back to you...Some strengths are organization, systems in place, always get you in if you need to be seen. Some weaknesses are their hold time when calling in can be very long. They also only leave you a message with next steps. It would be easier to have an email as well...

She was very easy to talk to. Not judgementel and easy going but educated me all along the way. She really took the time with us. I felt like she was more educated on the latest treatments available.she was extremely knowledgeable on what type of medication that was appropriate for pcos and my certain situation ...BecUse I couldn’t afford another round of ivf. She thought I would have a good chance of being successful with donor sperm and iuis.
Wait times were not bad but the personalities of the front desk were somewhat challenging and when your going through fertility treatments that’s the last thing you need. Overall it is a good clinic [IVFMD South FL Institute for Repro Medicine] and I would go back for further treatment because of the doctor ... I would usually see different nurses but they were all pleasant

I received very professional and knowledgeable advice from Dr. Joelle Taylor...had to increase my medication on the third day of injections and I think it was the right decision based on my estrogen levels. We agreed that I probably should have waited an extra day to trigger...Have all your questions prepared before the appointment because most appointments are with nurses...Menopur 300, Gonal F and Cetrotide because I appeared to be a “slow responder.”
[Nurses at IVFMD South Florida Institute for Reproductive Medicine are] Very nice and helpful when available...Very good clinic but a bit on the higher end expense-wise. It was not explained clearly to me that NOT doing the genetic testing was an option. If I did, I would not have tested my embryo and would have transferred my day 5 blastocyst...Menopur 300, Gonal F and Cetrotide because I appeared to be a “slow responder.”

Very good clinic but a bit on the higher end expense-wise. It was not explained clearly to me that NOT doing the genetic testing was an option. If I did, I would not have tested my embryo and would have transferred my day 5 blastocyst.
Describe the costs associated with your care under Jenna McCarthy at IVFMD - Jupiter (Prelude Network clinic).
My overall treatment cost over $20,000 with all the medications and testing.

I think it was based on miscommunications and not having enough access to the doctor to clarify certain specifics.

[Dr. McCarthy] was there for every step and was great in each conversation with us...was always encouraging and so personable...I wish I could have seen her more during treatment but she was there for procedures and important test results...I was a single embryo transfer, as she was concerned what twins would do for my health...She gave us our son and I’ll always be so grateful.
Very personable. They [IVFMD South Florida] remembered me every time I came in. You do need to be your own advocate to get your best treatment but they do a great job. You feel like a person rather than a science experiment...The care coordinator made a mistake in communication that pushed back our treatment a month. She was somewhat unorganized and uncommunicative.

Success w/ Doc Too early to know
dr MCCarthy is kind and has a great bedside manner. She is down to earth and friendly and I immediately liked her. I did have to travel to Jupiter when I thought I would be able to be seen in Viera. So that is frustrating but if it gets me a discount I’m okay with it.... We are still in the planning stages. My husband has done a semen analysis and blood work and I have done blood work and a saline ultrasound and we have our follow up on Friday to see where to go from here. Most likely IVF
It’s diffuclt to reach the clinic [IVF MD S FL-Jupiter] immediately. Your directed to the main office and then have to wait to be connected to your office. Scheduling isn’t very easy either because of the new office and where I live. I had problems with hearing back from the financial department regarding discounts for certain insurance.... Carly and the MA’s were all very nice and helpful. The scheduling is a different story.

Not wrong really but they were supposed to get pap results and didn’t. They had post op report but didn’t see it. I think it’s because of the new clinic opening and trying to work in both places.

Success w/ Doc Too early to know
She [Dr. Jenna McCarthy] took her time with me in her office, even though she’s a busy woman! she explained things throughly & established trust...She’s very helpful. Always explains things. She gave me a timeline. She told me specifically that she wanted me to get pregnant by August of 2022. It was nice that she had set a goal for me & made it seem like she was gonna do everything in her power to get me to that goal.
The [IVFMD S. FL Institute for Reproductive Medicine] staff is great! No complaints. Always very friendly...I’d say the weakness would be that sometimes they tell you, you’ve got a credit & you owe nothing for the appointment, but then you don’t & they end up calling you and demanding payment after the fact. That’s a little frustrating because these things are expensive. You come prepared to pay & than they say you don’t need too.

They aren’t super expensive. I’d say the costs are decent for infertility.

She is so down to earth and professional, yet SO knowledgeable on all things fertility...Her approach is letting the patient decide what they are comfortable with and when instead of forcing a plan or jumping straight to IVF...Our first frozen embryo transfer was successful, and I know it’s because of Dr. McCarthy’s knowledge and care...shows so much empathy for her patients makes all the difference.
IVFMD in Jupiter is a great clinic with great staff! I think every clinic has pros and cons, but majority of my many appointments were fast and efficient. There were some rare times I had to wait longer or experienced some lack of organization, but overall I had no major issues...All the nurses were always so helpful and supportive in my journey! Thankful for them as well...Our first frozen embryo transfer was successful, and I know it’s because of Dr. McCarthy’s knowledge and care!
How was your experience with Jenna McCarthy at IVFMD - Jupiter (Prelude Network clinic)?
Once you visit Dr. McCarthy, you will wish every Doctor was just like her! I cannot recommend her enough, and I am so glad she was part of our journey on growing our family! She is so down to earth and professional, yet SO knowledgeable on all things fertility. Infertility is one of the hardest things to go through, and having a Doctor like Dr. McCarthy that shows so much empathy for her patients makes all the difference. Her approach is letting the patient decide what they are comfortable with and when instead of forcing a plan or jumping straight to IVF. We started off with an IUI after all of our initial testing in 2020. We took a break in 2021 , and then decided to return in 2022 to try again. We started again with 4 medicated cycles, and once those failed we finally turned to IVF. Dr. McCarthy and her staff make the complex IVF process easy and clear to understand, and they are always available for all questions. Our first frozen embryo transfer was successful, and I know it’s because of Dr. McCarthy’s knowledge and care! If you are struggling to conceive or even just want to understand your options, go see Dr. McCarthy at IVFMD! I will forever be thankful for her!
What's one piece of advice would you give a prospective patient of Jenna McCarthy at IVFMD - Jupiter (Prelude Network clinic)?
Go in with hope and be clear about your goals! Dr. McCarthy listens to everything and caters your treatment to what you want for your family!
