My wife and I both were patients, looking to do tandem egg retrievals, fertilization and PGT-A testing, then an embryo transfer for me to carry first. Dr. Blakemore was so inclusive and respectful with her language from the jump as well as the warmest, most comforting and responsive doctor we've ever been to. While my wife's egg retrieval was pretty straightforward (her shot protocol didn't change throughout), mine was chaotic, with my dosages needing to be changed dramatically or dropping off entirely after each blood draw (which pretty much became daily). But because Dr. Blakemore is the ultimate pro, and managed my highly reactive system perfectly. In the end, my wife and I walked away with 16 perfectly healthy, PGT-A-tested embryos. I have no doubt that 100% of the credit goes to Dr. Blakemore.

You can stop looking, there is no better fertility specialist than Dr. Blakemore.

I was very lucky to have supplemental fertility insurance (Progyny) but my wife wasn't on my insurance at the time for her retrieval. Between our two retrievals, meds, PGT-A testing, monthly/yearly storage fees, and one transfer (which fell under a SmartCycle), I think our out-of-pocket expenses were about 10k.

My original hope was to do a double embryo transfer (one of mine, one of my wife's) and raised this with Dr. Blakemore at an early appointment. While of course she explained the inherent risks of anything other than a singleton, she never judged or tried to dissuade, and allowed for it to be an open conversation throughout our egg retrieval, up until we actually scheduled the transfer. She has mastered the balance of being a doctor while still prioritizing and respecting the wants/hopes/dreams of her patients. Ultimately, we went with a single embryo transfer to better suit the needs of growing our family, but this also means the added bonus of getting to return to Dr. Blakemore again in the future.

I can't say enough good things about Dr. Blakemore. She is clearly passionate about her work, both intellectually and emotionally. Before starting any treatment, Dr. Blakemore takes her patients through an in-depth PowerPoint presentation during which she provides education regarding fertility, possible causes of infertility, the testing available to discover sources of infertility, and potential treatment options. She also discusses your history and what specific testing she has planned. She clearly explains all test results and all treatment options. Once we decided to move forward with egg retrieval and embryo implantation, Dr. Blakemore was there every step of the way, guiding us through this emotional and arduous process. When there were setbacks, Dr. Blakemore was straightforward about results while always remaining positive and discussing next steps. She also provided extensive emotional support at each appointment, and even between. She called before and after each procedure to check in and answered emails with questions at all times of the day/night. The NYU Fertility clinic is clearly very busy, but Dr. Blakemore never made me feel like a number and I felt as though she was truly invested in ensuring a positive outcome and making sure I felt seen and heard throughout the process. Once we "Graduated" from the fertility clinic to switch to the OB/GYN for prenatal care, I truly missed Dr. Blakemore and the care she provided. Infertility and IVF is such a difficult path to manage - you spend so much time at your fertility clinic and with your doctor that you want to make sure your fertility doctor is both competent and caring. As Dr. Blakemore says during treatment "You are my family, you are my sister, I want to make sure you get what you're here for." My husband and I are forever grateful to Dr. Blakemore and highly recommend her to anyone in the NYC area!

There was a morning monitoring window (7-9am), which was convenient because I could make the appointment before work. During that window, a patient would schedule a specific time to arrive for monitoring. Monitoring consisted of bloodwork and then typically an ultrasound (many times done by Dr. Blakemore herself during office days). I was typically in and out in 30 minutes.

My care was covered by my health insurance

I am so grateful for Dr Blakemore. It has been a long process but my husband and I have consistently felt like Dr Blakemore was in our corner. When insurance declined to cover my second egg retrieval she with no hesitation wrote a letter on my behalf. Having that advocacy - even though we didn’t get the outcome we wanted was huge. After the first embryo transfer failed it was really disheartening and she took time to talk to us on the weekend, listen to all our questions & encourage us. I felt confident in her recommendations & reassured by her hopefulness & positivity. She expresses frequently how much she loves her job & it’s very evident every time you interact with her.

I started with IUI as i felt most comfortable doing less interventions first. Dr Blakemore was supportive of this and i did 3 medicated IUI cycles (all with Clomid) - which were not successful. that made me feel more comfortable / ready to start the IVF process. I did two medicated egg retrievals (a few months apart). I took Follistim, Menopur, Ovidrel, Lupron and Ganirelex for each.) My egg retrievals met or exceeded the expectations Dr Blakemore outlined for us and we ended up with several genetically normal embryos. I was very glad i did 2 retrievals based on my family building goals. I did 2 embryo transfers back to back. The first was just progesterone & estradiol and was unsuccessful. The second transfer added an immune protocol (steroid / baby aspirin / claritin / famotodine ) and resulted in pregnancy!

All in all monitoring appointments were very straightforward / easy and little wait time. There was maybe twice over (the course of 6+ months of procedures) where i waited more than 30 minutes.

across multiple rounds of IUI, 2 egg retrievals and 2 transfers + all medications costs have been around $35K. The largest cost being the second egg retrieval which was not covered by insurance followed by cost of medications.

We used the micro dose lupron protocol. I am a carrier of fragile x (reason I wanted to do IVF) and because of that, I found out I have a very low ovarian reserve. While admittedly my egg freezing journey was likely easier than most and purely elective to preserve future fertility, it can still be an anxiety-provoking experience. Seeing doctor Blakemore always put me at ease, and I looked forward to our appointments to hear updates and get her feedback on next steps. Also, as someone who is personally interested in the field / curious / works best when I have all the information, Dr. Blakemore was very forthcoming with sharing updates about my progress, answering my questions and discussing all the science of egg freezing and female reproduction. Beyond being an advocate for her patients, from our conversations I could tell she is a true advocate for women’s healthcare

Ask questions - she will gladly answer them all. And as fertility is a complex topic - ask follow-ups if anything is confusing!

We used a fairly standard strategy and protocol (daily Gonal F and Menopur, addition of Cetrotide halfway through, and then a Leutrotide trigger on day 10). We did not use Ovidrel as I was at risk of OHSS and we eventually lowered the dosage of Gonal F towards the end. Additonally, I had the nightly support of an NYU nurse helping with shots. To avoid me having to pay for 2x visits per day, Dr Blakemore changed my protocol to allow me to take the cetrotide at night with my fantastic nurse, Lavina. Overall, we stimulated many eggs (32 retrieved, 20 frozen), and I have not developed OHSS (4 days post-op as of this review)

Fortunately my procedure and medications were covered by my insurance. I did pay out of pocket for daily at-home nurse visits to administer shots. I looked into private nursing services and doing this through NYU was not only more affordable, it had the added benefit of being connected to the NYU system

Dr. Blakemore comes across as a confident, warm and compassionate person and instantly makes you feel comfortable. She truly seems to love her work. I felt satisfied after getting all my questions patiently answered. She gave a realistic picture of what to expect and my final results matched that.

Trust the doctor. You may not get to see her every visit but I have noticed that's how it works in the other clinics I consulted with too, as egg retrieval is a time sensitive procedure and the attending doctor will perform it. My case was very standard and easy and there were no surprises or complications.

The dosage was varied throughout the cycle based on my response to the medications. Lupron trigger was used (I guess that's because I have PCOS and Lupron prevents OHSS). I was kept on moderate dosage.

Previous to seeing Dr. Blakemore, I had gone to my obgyn for an ultrasound to inquire whether I had PCOS or not. After almost a month and a half of ignored test results and unclear communication with my obgyn, we decided to see Dr. Blakemore. From the intake process, Dr. Blakemore ruled out what I had thought was the issue of our infertility caused by my PCOS, with the larger factor of low sperm count that was contributing to our failed attempts at conceiving. From the very beginning, Dr. Blakemore helped us truly understand every detail of our options, our journey, and possible outcomes. Just as importantly, she provided us with immediate attention and care, and we never, ever felt like time was wasted. Dr. Blakemore is as compassionate as she is comprehensive, and I don’t have enough words to describe how happy we were to find her. In the end, our course of treatment was IVF, and we were successful with Dr. Blakemore after one round of retrievals and one transfer. We have four additional healthy embryos frozen from this round as well. We always felt like we were in the best hands possible with her as our doctor, and I am so glad she will be there for us in the future.

I was lucky enough to become pregnant under the care of Dr. Blakemore. After 2 and a half years trying to conceive. I came from another practice with many issues so my first consultation with her, I had reservations about trusting someone else with my fertility treatments, especially after feeling so ignored at my previous clinic. From the first day meeting with her, she really helps you feel relaxed, calm and shared her own personal journey with me which helped break down some of my walls. She was thorough with everything she explained to both me and my husband and let us know she was always available if we needed her. Dr. Blakemore wasn't kidding. She seemingly works every single day, and has even called me back herself on numerous occasions to answer questions for me. You can see the passion she has in all that she does - she's beaming with it. She's excited everyday to come to work and help people conceive children. It's hard not to be excited when your doctor is so excited and positive and happy to be there. She helps you see the positive and continue moving forward even when setbacks seem huge. She supports you in your decisions and explains risks and benefits. I felt like she became my friend while I was there - my own personal cheerleader cheering me on. As a doctor, she's incredible and she absolutely amazing at what she does. If you need protocol adjusted, she adjusts it. She knows what works. Our second retrieval was 3x as successful as our first BECAUSE of Jennifer Blakemore. This woman will one day be in the hall of fame for science or something because she does so much research and cares about what she does, shes either going to discover something magical - I don't know. She's up to date on the latest information. I literally could go on and on and on about how marvelous I think she is as a person and as a doctor. She would always inform me where she would be so I knew where to schedule my appointment so I could be seen by her. She's incredibly hands on. Again, this is her passion and as a patient, you feel like your success is her passion - her goal. I wish all my doctors were as incredible as Dr. Blakemore. Tears were shed when I finally was lucky enough to graduate the fertility clinic because she was so caring, compassionate, kind, dedicated - just amazing. Words cannot describe. If you're looking for a fertility doctor, you would be VERY lucky to have the chance to work with Dr. Blakemore. It was the ultimate privilege for myself and my husband and I truly believe that without her, we wouldn't be pregnant right now. She made me a better person through this process. I owe her everything and cannot thank her enough.

I don't feel like you need any advice from me other than to trust Dr. Blakemore. She knows what she's talking about. If you listen to her, you will be in the best hands around!

For IUI, we used Clomid and Ovidrel. For both retrievals, we used Clomid. For my first retrieval, we used Menopur, Gonal F, Ovidrel and Cetritide. On my second and final retrieval, we used Gonal F, Lupron, and HCG. There may have been more but I can't remember. The change from the first to second retrieval helped us get better quality eggs.

Morning monitoring was an interesting experience because while I have no complaints, there is a certain feeling of a cattle call, but very minor. It doesn't change my perception of this clinic, because it also runs as a well oiled machine. You come in, they call you back, take your blood work and then you wait in another area to be called for your ultrasound. Each time you delt with a staff member, it was very individualized, but I would have liked going from blood work, to an US room instead of another waiting area, however I understand why they do it this way. The quicker they get your blood work in, the quicker they call you with the results. The blood work takes a few minutes while ultrasounds take more time. It can feel frustrating at first, but you get the hang of it. I think theres just this feeling of being at a fertility clinic where you just want to get in, get the info and get on with your life because you don't want to become "the fertility girl" so the waiting can seem worse than it is. I usually waited 10-15 min for an ultrasound after blood work which isn't bad. Occasionally on very very busy days, I had to wait 30 minutes and maybe once or twice more but in total, you were essentially in and out in an hour - give or take 20 minutes - which I didn't mind because I got to see my doctor each time so it was blood work, ultrasound and speaking to my doctor which felt worth it to me.

We were lucky to have insurance so we had copays since our deductible was met and then just the cost of the PGT testing. I know this is not the standard practice so we feel very lucky that this was our experience.

I wanted to transfer two embryos but Dr. Blakemore insisted we do only one. I wasn't pleased then because I was so nervous it was going to fail, but I trusted her, because she gave me the information I needed to understand that one was the way to go. If we failed on our first transfer, we could discuss two in the future. I was very concerned with running out of insurance benefits, but in the end I am VERY happy I listed to Dr. Blakemore because I am pregnant and to me, that is a success!

Dr. Jennifer Blakemore is truly a gem of a physician! She is an intelligent doctor with an absolutely wonderful heart. My husband and I are very grateful to Dr. Blakemore and her team for helping us build a family. She made us feel that we belonged to the right place the moment from time of our initial consultation. She was very thorough during our fertility work-up/evaluation. She made sure that my husband and I understood each process and progression of each treatment. I felt truly comfortable and at ease during each procedure. She was always on top of my test results especially during my daily monitoring for my retrievals. She gave us a true sense of hope in this complex world of infertility. We will be forever grateful to her care. We strongly recommend Dr. Blakemore for any future fertility patients.

Dr. Blakemore is one of the best doctors I have ever had and I would recommend her without reservation to anyone else going through fertility treatment. She is extremely personable, very smart and up to date on the latest with fertility science. She explained everything very clearly to us and I always felt like I knew what was happening and what to expect. We had a pretty unique situation where we were doing IVF for genetic testing only as my husband and I are carriers of the same recessive gene. We also wanted the embryos to be tested for an extremely esoteric de novo mutation that our daughter was born with. Dr. Blakemore had a plan from day one for which specialized lab she wanted to use for testing and everything was seamless with them. She has a wonderful bedside manner, even during the stresses of treatment seeing her always brightened my day and I always felt she had time for any questions I had.

We did an antagonist protocol and prepared for two retrievals since I wanted to have the option of having a number of additional children and at least 25% of any aneuploid embryos would likely inherit both of our recessive genes. The results surpassed everyone's expectations and we got 12 euploid embryos, 7 without our genetic issue. Our first transfer worked and the entire process was relatively seamless (for IVF) and I am now 14 weeks pregnant.

I was lucky to have coverage through Progyny through my employer, which my understanding is covers most of this. I haven't yet received any bills but wouldn't be surprised if I had some modest co-pays.

I had no desire to have twins so never asked about this, but recall that NYU has a slide in their standard presentation about why they encourage eSET due to the many health risks of multiples.

Dr. Blakemore is amazing! She is compassionate, detailed oriented, keeps me updated every step of the way. We discussed realistically what our goals are and made plans accordingly. I never felt lost and always knew she had a plan two steps ahead. IVF is not an easy process, full of ups and downs. Somethings are just not within anyone's control, Dr. Blakemore made the process that much easier for us. I am a physician who works very early morning hours, Dr. Blakemore and her nurse made an effort to come in early to do my morning monitoring at the NoMad office. That helped me tremendously, it allowed me to get to the hospital on time and take care of my own patients.

Trust her, be realistically about your goals, and be patient. IVF is difficult road with many ups and down.

We would like to have 2 kids, so we did multiple rounds of egg retrievals to have couple of PGS tested embryos to account for rate of success with each transfer. While we got a fair number of eggs each round, not many made it day 5, and even less made it through genetic testing.

It was mostly covered by insurance. Out of pocket included storage, genetic testing, and meds.

Dr. Blakemore is the best doctor I’ve ever had. She truly cares about you and takes her time explaining every detail. It’s evident she loves what she does and it translates in the care she gives her patients. I have PCOS and was very nervous starting my fertility process, Dr. Blakemore made an otherwise tricky time into a peaceful and pleasant one. It was very bittersweet “graduating” out of fertility clinic at 10 weeks and leaving Dr. Blakemore’s care - I wish she was my OB/GYN.

I honestly couldn’t have asked for a better doctor and I wouldn’t be able to have care with another physician in the fertility world. She makes you feel so comfortable and confident.

I was with another physician in the group who was great. But I didn’t end up with any positives. Dr Blakemore thought of adding in things to my FET protocol and doing some testing which we found out interesting results I never knew I would come across or never knew about if I have never seen her. She was the only doctor that was able to get me pregnant and moved quickly to take action on results

My Insurance covered most costs. However Dr Blakemore never once made me do unnecessary testing that wouldn’t be covered

Dr. Blakemore was welcoming and caring. She made you feel she truly cared about you and your treatment, and that you were not just another patient. The whole process with morning montioring and routine bloodwork etc can get a bit clinical, but each time I sat with Dr. Blakemore, she made me feel heard and listened to. I felt she was as passionate about my sucess as I was. Hands down, amazing experience and I'd recommend her to anyone and everyone.

Be open about what you want out of the process and what you know/don't know about how it all works. She takes the time to educate you and walk you through everything and wants to be on the same page as you.

Majority of it was covered by husband's insurance but $50K otherwise

I have never met a doctor as kind, patient, loving, and nurturing as Dr. Blakemore. This is an extremely vulnerable and often difficult process. When we went through our challenging times Dr. Blakemore allowed us to be as sad as we needed and held space to heal and continue. She never made us feel rushed and always offered wise insights. When we spoke she actively listened with a full and compassionate heart. To be honest, she felt like a family member cheering us on throughout the entire time. We also never felt out of place being a same-sex couple and she used inclusive language in every conversation. Her staff is warm and gentle. Shennetta always made us laugh and Lana was always ready with positive affirmations before and after transfers. We can not recommend Dr. Blakemore and her team more highly. I am currently 9 and a half months pregnant and I feel so grateful that such a wonderful person and doctor helped create our dream family.

Enjoy! This process is vulnerable and emotionally taxing. Dr. Blakemore is a strong, wise, and deeply empathetic person. Trust and confidence is so important when entering this journey and if you allow her, she will take the best care of you, as she does with everyone in her life.

Dr. Blakemore is a wonderful physician and person. I had an unusual fertility journey. Wanting to check in on my fertility, I was referred to Dr. Blakemore by a relative. I found out that I have a very low AMH level for my age, a high FSH, and a blocked Fallopian tube. Dr. Blakemore explained all of this information to me bluntly and honestly but gently, and told me not to worry yet as I was still young and healthy. Finding out this information, I was extremely nervous as I have always really wanted to be a mother. I asked if I should freeze eggs for future children or go through treatments. I would have gone through any process suggested, but Dr. Blakemore recommended I did not try anything but the old-fashioned way, and then return to her if that didn’t work out. Luckily for me, my partner and I conceived spontaneously. Dr. Blakemore directed me down the path that made her zero profit, because she cares about her patients and their needs. I know for a fact she treats patients on a case-by-case basis as my referring relative froze eggs with Dr. Blakemore, whereas I was advised not to due to my DOR and low AMH. I highly recommend this doctor!

Trust Dr. Blakemore’s judgment

As an infertility patient, you end up going through so much, whether it is surgery, testing, multiple cycles, multiple pregnancy failures/losses. Dr. Blakemore exceeded our expectations, and went above and beyond to show us how strong and far we can really get. She thinks of new/different plans that other's don't think of and is so compassionate. She is the sweetest doctor and the fertility world is extremely blessed to have her in their world. She is extremely organized and detail oriented. she is available when you need her and you can tell she loves helping people.

Be patient, Trust her judgment and recommendations. Always ask whatever questions you have. She is extremely patient and understanding and no question is a stupid question. She is the smartest doctor I have ever met.

I had coverage through my insurance, with minimally cost of co-payments/co-insurance

Dr. Blakemore was very careful about transferring multiple embryos and cared about the safety and outcome of my transfer. We both agreed eSET was the best route for me.

We recommend Dr Blakemore at the highest level. She was so kind, caring, patient, informative, great bedside manner, proactive follow ups with results and next steps. We couldn't have asked for better care.

My partner used Menopure and Gonal, and before the retrieval she took a trigger hormone. The results were that we were able to freeze 6 eggs. It wasn't what we hoped for; we hoped for 15 or 20, but that wasn't the Dr's faults.

Dr. Blakemore is the kindest, smartest, and most compassionate doctor I’ve ever encountered. I trusted her fully. I had many setbacks through the fertility journey (poor egg quality and a miscarriage). Dr. Blakemore was always honest and transparent while also providing positivity throughout the journey. She truly loves what she does and it shines through. With each setback she would have new ideas on what we could try next. You are in safe and caring hands with Dr. Blakemore.

This was the single best experience I've ever had with a medical provider of any kind. This was also the hardest experience of my life. As a non-binary queer person, I have a lot of feelings about reproduction (and a lot of doubts). Dr. Blakemore made it easy to come to the office (I almost looked forward to it). She really listened to me and never second guessed my hunches about my body (which turned out to be accurate). Dr. Blakemore never mis-gendered me, never made my wife feel less than, and honored our non-traditional family structure (using a known donor for at-home insemination). She leveled with us honestly about our chances but also kept us feeling hopeful. We followed her advice and treatment plan, including having a hysteroscopy and using Letrozole at home for two cycles. Two months later, I was pregnant and went on to deliver a healthy baby (Jan 2022). When we had to go see an OBGYN for my pregnancy, we actively missed Dr. Blakemore and felt that it was basically impossible to match her level of care and cultural sensitivity.

Ask anything you want and share your fears. If you have hunches about your body, share them. Dr. Blakemore will not judge, she'll listen, and she'll address your questions/fears/doubts extremely thoroughly.

We did a few cycles of at home insemination with a known donor. We realized that our donor had a low sperm count after speaking with Dr. Blakemore about the consistency of the sperm and sending the donor for testing. We then switched known donors at the advice of Dr. Blakemore. I later suspected there was something wrong with my reproductive system after several failed attempts (even though I was ovulating normally) so we did an HSG and found uterine adhesions. I had a hysteroscopy and did two cycles of at-home insemination with Letrozole to help out. I got pregnant on the second cycle and delivered a healthy baby in January 2022.

We spent a few thousand dollars on freezing sperm and then a few hundred on co-pays and medications (or maybe like a grand?). Some of our expenses related to the sperm freezing were reimbursable through my wife's union but we never got the paperwork we needed from the clinic. We had to get her office to change the policy (which was months and months of advocacy) because we couldn't get what we needed from NYU. Basically, no one would respond to us once we were pregnant.

Dr. Blakemore is passionate about what she does and goes above and beyond to make her patients feel educated and comfortable with their decisions. She explains every step of her process in terms that are easy to understand, and never makes you feel dumb for asking questions. She clearly and consistently communicates with her patients, and shows an enormous amount of empathy in difficult conversations. She maintains an incredible balance of optimism with being realistic, and makes sure to offer every possible avenue to get to the desired outcome. I cannot imagine a more caring, thoughtful or intelligent provider.

Don’t be afraid to ask her any questions on your mind or raise any concerns. She will spend time to ensure that she explains things in a way you will clearly understand, and will back any decisions or recommendations with data and science.

I used clomid, gonal f, menopur, cetrotide, ovidrel, and Lupron. I don’t recall the dosages. For my second transfer, we included an immune protocol that included prednisone, low dose aspirin, Pepcid and Claritin and amoxicillin. This was due to unexplained reason for embryo transfer.

Bloodwork was almost always quick and easy. If I arrived later in the window sometimes I would experience long wait times. Ultrasounds usually took a bit of time and would get very backed up some mornings.

Retrievals were approximately $15k, medications were around $4k out of pocket or $18k through my insurance benefit (I paid meds out of pocket). PGT testing was maybe $500-800 per embryo but I can’t remember. FET was about $5k each transfer.

This was discussed briefly. Dr. Blakemore strongly suggested single transfer for a number of reasons including safety of mom and baby among other statistics. She also explained the cases where she would recommend multiple embryo transfer.

Dr. Blakemore takes her time to completely explain every single option for your treatment. She does not rush and never makes you feel like you're asking too many questions - in fact....she welcomes them. She listened to concerns about the course of treatment as readily as she listened to concerns about the emotional toll infertility can take. I'll never forget when she told me "My number one job is to get you pregnant, we will not do anything to ever jeopardize making sure you have a healthy baby." Knowing that our doctor had the same conviction and dedication to helping our dream come true was a blessing. My care and our goal of starting our family was always her first priority.

I've had good doctors who I thought were great doctors for much of my life. However, I now understand that I never had a truly GREAT doctor until I met Dr. Blakemore. She is one in a million.

While under the care of Dr. Blakemore, we tried one round of IUI and then moved on to IVF (our choice). I was seen every other day and then daily as it neared my egg retrieval. I received phone calls and emails daily from the nursing staff to ensure I understood the next steps with my medication. We retrieved 13 eggs, 9 became embryos and 7 went to genetic testing. I'm happy to share that under Dr. Blakemore's care, we now have a happy, healthy little girl after 1.5 years of trying to conceive.

We were lucky enough to have insurance cover a fair amount of the treatment, but still paid slightly more than $10K out of pocket - most of these costs being associated with genetic testing.

I first went to see Dr. Blakemore for a consultation since I had failed 3 FET’s in the past already. She was so prepared with data, a PowerPoint presentation and ready for all my questions. I was looking for a more aggressive action plan for my next FET and she offered me multiple options and we weighed the pro’s and con’s together. I never felt rushed throughout my entire appointment and really felt like she was listening to all my concerns and addressed each one. She also gave me ample time for questions.

1st protocol included an extra day of progesterone since that’s what my ERA biopsy results came back with. My second protocol included lovenox and prednisone after 2 months of lupron depot since I was diagnosed surgically with endometriosis. My third protocol included letrozole in the beginning and letting my body naturally ovulate.

I didn’t have to pay any co-pays and most of my prescriptions went to a pharmacy my insurance company allowed. Most costs were associated with medication co-insurances. My insurance covered my egg retrieval, anesthesia, and FET’s.

I always wanted to transfer multiple since my husband and I were accepting of the risk for multiples but I only had 5 frozen embryos so we started off with 1 for my first FET and then agreed on 2 for the second and third. Made sense because we didn’t want to run out and towards the end, I didn’t know if I wanted any left over.

Jennifer Blakemore was kind, compassionate and honest. She made me feel comfortable in every aspect of my treatment and helped me to feel positive and calm when I began stressing about my pregnancy in the early stages after it was confirmed. I would recommend her to anyone hoping to conceive.

Trust that she will be honest with you about the reality of the fertility process, while still remaining very positive. That smile and bubbly demeanor isn’t an act, it’s genuine!

Prior to the egg retrieval, I did what was considered the standard amount and dosage of shots for several weeks. Despite having a low egg reserve, we were able to retrieve 7 eggs, 3 of which were viable embryos after genetic testing. After my confirmed pregnancy, I started on progesterone shots and a suppository of endometrin. My body reacted poorly to the endometrin and I had some bleeding after a few weeks. Dr. Blakemore quickly adjusted my medication so I no longer had to take the suppository and instead took a progesterone shot daily as opposed to every other day. This immediately stopped the bleeding and my pregnancy progressed perfectly after that.

I was fortunate enough to have a large amount of the fertility costs covered under my insurance. We paid in full for the genetic testing (which was by choice, and not required) and paid a partial cost of some of the necessary medications.

I understood my age to be a factor in using one embryo instead of multiple. Pregnancy with multiples can be more risky and I think it was the right decision.

Dr. Blakemore made every step of the egg retrieval, embryo creation, testing, transfer and monitoring a breeze. Dr. Blakemore takes time to explain every step of the process, ensuring I understood and answering my questions. She makes herself available to answer questions that pop up outside of visits (as they definitely will). I felt that every step of the way I was under top quality medical care and really understood the process. But beyond that, Dr. Blakemore has a level of kindness, compassion and approachability that you don't always find in a doctor and that is really important for your fertility specialist as this entire process can be so high pressure and stressful.

Don't be afraid to ask questions. Dr. Blakemore expects them, she wants you to understand and she has a communication skill level that is above and beyond!

I had out of pocket costs for all services and medications as my insurance covered almost nothing.

My doctor preferred a single embryo transfer. As it was explained to me, the transfer of multiple embryos didn't seem to increase your chance at a live birth, rather just your changes at multiples. I believe the clinic will allow multiple transfers, but it takes some extra counseling and was not something I was interested in pursuing.
