Dr. Knudtson is very compassionate yet realistic...She gives me the facts, tells me how she can help, and compromises with me if I want to make changes such as trying for a mini ivf cycle (monitoring clomid usage and measuring follicles at cd12) because she knows I am afraid of aggressive treatments. She's sweet and never makes me feel rushed during our appointments no matter how many questions I have. I feel safe with her and I trust her...
Amazing clinic [UT Medicine Fertility Center], I get scheduled relatively quickly and get responses to email quickly. Like any fertility clinic, there is usually a wait but not too long. They have always been great at communicating with me and calling me about results, appointments, etc...[nurses are] very compassionate, organized, and kind. They have always been so loving and sympathetic to me and what I'm going through...
How was your experience with Jennifer Knudtson at UT Medicine Fertility Center?
Dr. Knudtson is very compassionate yet realistic. She has been gentle throughout my prognosis and very clear about what she believed will help me. Still, I was very hesitant in the beginning regarding surgery to open/assess my tubal blockage so she just supported me in the meantime. She has done her best to meet me where I am and never tried to push me to do anything I didn't feel comfortable doing. She gives me the facts, tells me how she can help, and compromises with me if I want to make changes such as trying for a mini ivf cycle (monitoring clomid usage and measuring follicles at cd12) because she knows I am afraid of aggressive treatments. She's sweet and never makes me feel rushed during our appointments no matter how many questions I have. I feel safe with her and I trust her. She performed a salpingectomy which I recovered from beautifully. She's an amazing RE
What's one piece of advice would you give a prospective patient of Jennifer Knudtson at UT Medicine Fertility Center?
Ask about all your options, not just the obvious ones. If possible, always ask if you can get orders for labs prior to your appointment with her so you have a baseline or results to work with. Be clear about what your goals are before visiting her because if all you want is someone to tell you what to do but aren't ready to do it, what's the point?
During treatment, were you treated like a number or a human with Jennifer Knudtson at UT Medicine Fertility Center?
Dr. Knudtson is very soft spoken, sympathetic, and sincere in her gestures. She hears me, wants to help me, and shows great concern for my emotions
Describe the protocols Jennifer Knudtson used in your cycles at UT Medicine Fertility Center and their degree of success.
First step was to get my labs done. I was aggressive and asked for all of them! She complied and also conducted an ultrasound during our consult. Initially, she wanted to get me started on clomid right away and perform an HSG but I wasn't ready for that just yet. I decided after my labs came back looking good that I would try natural remedies and acupuncture to help me. After several months I agreed to an HSG which revealed both my tubes were blocked with one potential hydro tube. She recommended lap surgery to assess tubes and potentially remove the right. I was hesitant again and decided on natural remedies. After 8months i did a repeat HSG which revealed no change in my tubes. She performed a lap surgery on me where she had to remove my right hydro tube but was able to open my left tube with just the dye. She gave me 6 months to try on my own after that. I took a break from TTC and went back 9 months after my surgery. We repeated some labs, she put me on clomid, and just today we did a repeat HSG which revealed my tube is now blocked. So, we are moving on to ivf, starting with a mini ivf cycle with a possibility of removing my left tube if we are unsuccessful.

Dr. Knudtson actually listens to your concerns and modifies the treatments based on your needs. She called me personally to check on me after my hysteroscopy, which was very touching. She also called to check on me when I messaged her that I was not doing too well emotionally/mentally. These are all signs of a great doctor. ... I ovulate on my own and it is usually later on in the cycle.

I ovulate on my own and it is usually later on in the cycle. So, we used ovulation induction with clomid and TI. My second cycle on it, I experienced a chemical pregnancy. I just wanted to try something different and asked if we could do IUIs. My dose was adjusted each cycle, depending on my response to the medications.

Success w/ Doc Too early to know
She [Dr. Knudtson] gave the greatest bedside manner and thoroughly explained each procedure. She has really great bedside manner and shows me the amount of follicles each cycle. She gave very basic level explanation in a time when this process is overwhelming. She is also very polite and easy to ask plenty of questions....She first started with explaining my PCOS and my husbands numbers. We started off with a low level dosage since cost was a factor. As wash cycle did not work she made adjustments but fully explained the reasoning behind each change.
They [UT Med Fertility Ctr] only offer morning appointments so be prepared to wake up pretty early. Be prepared to wait for the IUI as they need to wash the semen but they have a cafe downstairs. Treatments start at 7:30 AM... There is not enough nurses and rooms for all the patients. They have to put patients in rooms waiting while the doctors finish up with patients....She [Dr. Knudtson] gave the greatest bedside manner and thoroughly explained each procedure.

Dr. K [Knudtson] has a very warm bedside manner, and took her time to get to know my husband and I, as well as, our goals....I feel that Dr. K was very thorough and even helped to write out a plan for my diagnosis and treatment which I found helpful in case I forgot something from our meeting. I also appreciate her gentle nature during procedures....To date, we have spent $2000 in cost associated with treatment. Going with the next option of IVF would cost approximately $10000-12000.
The clinic [UT Medicine] was convenient in terms of location and clean. My husband complained that the male facilities for sperm collection were not as nice regarding décor and materials. I appreciate the availability of appointment times as well, and the outside options, such as genetic testing that were offered to me....To date, we have spent $2000 in cost associated with treatment. Going with the next option of IVF would cost approximately $10000-12000.

[Dr. Knudtson] explained everything in a way that was easy to understand...made me feel like every single question or concern I had were the most important...she recommend everything she thought was the best option for me, but at the end of the day she allowed me to make my own decision...Even if she’s not in the office during your visit, she calls you that day to review your visit...She prefers to do single embryo transfers
The nurses [at UT Medicine Fertility Center] are competent and caring...The waiting room is small. The front desk lady is so sweet and nice. The procedure rooms might need some more space since most of the time there’s more than two doctors in there at a time and it feels a little crowded
