Dr. Findley took the time to listen to my history of trying to conceive...didn't rush me or appear to be in a rush....My diagnosis was DOR with a very low AMH...we opted for low dose meds with an added growth hormone to help egg quality...only had 1 follicle respond so the clinic recommended an IUI...currently in my two week wait from it.
had some difficulty with the financial aspect of [University Hospitals Fertility Center]...emails would go answered for multiple days...nurses were awesome...they were so kind to me...it took months to actually schedule my initial appointment and my follow up appointment was 8 weeks after my consult...
How was your experience with Joseph Findley at University Hospitals Fertility Center?
Strengths: At my initial consultation, Dr. Findley took the time to review my history. I appreciated that the clinic was thorough in that I left with a checklist of what Dr. Findley wanted to test to determine a baseline for where I was currently at in regards to my hormones and why I was having so much difficulty getting pregnant. Weaknesses: As with any big hospital setting, it took months to actually schedule my initial appointment and my follow up appointment was 8 weeks after my consult. I could have scheduled a follow up sooner with a different provider but I thought it would make most sense to have my dr do it who was handling my care as I thought that appointment would determine what steps I would need to take.
What's one piece of advice would you give a prospective patient of Joseph Findley at University Hospitals Fertility Center?
Plan accordingly as it takes time to become an established patient. Also have clear expectations when it comes to your treatment to help you from becoming very disappointed when things don't turn out as you hope on your first go around.
During treatment, were you treated like a number or a human with Joseph Findley at University Hospitals Fertility Center?
At my initial consultation, Dr. Findley took the time to listen to my history of trying to conceive. He didn't rush me or appear to be in a rush.
Describe the protocols Joseph Findley used in your cycles at University Hospitals Fertility Center and their degree of success.
My diagnosis was DOR with a very low AMH. Because of this my first IVF cycle, the dr recommended microdose flare protocol to get the highest number of eggs possible. My results were not great. I only got 4 eggs, only 1 was mature and it did not fertilize. On my 2nd round, we opted for low dose meds with an added growth hormone to help egg quality. However, I only had 1 follicle respond so the clinic recommended an IUI. I am currently in my two week wait from it.
Describe your experience with the nursing staff at University Hospitals Fertility Center.
The nurses were awesome. On multiple visits, I had tears in my eyes and they were so kind to me. The nurses who were with me at my egg retrieval were also so kind as I had a little bit of trouble with getting the IV placed and got very nervous because of that. They were so nice, I wanted to be friends with them in real life.
Describe your experience with University Hospitals Fertility Center.
I had some difficulty with the financial aspect of the clinic. The individual who does this was very nice whenever I actually did speak to the person, but getting in touch with was difficult. At times, emails would go answered for multiple days. However, I encourage you to keep in touch as we found out that paying out of pocket for just diagnostic tests prior to actual treatment was significantly cheaper than using our insurance.
Describe your experience with your monitoring appointments at University Hospitals Fertility Center.
Monitoring appointments needed to be done in the morning before 10am. My appointments typically were on time or close to it and were fairly quick.
Describe the costs associated with your care under Joseph Findley at University Hospitals Fertility Center.
We unfortunately have zero fertility coverage and our insurance company gets away with asking us to pay for my fertility tests with their high deductible. Thankfully I used my HSA for my fertility tests. When it came to treatment, the clinic offers ARC as their financial loans or paying out of pocket with a package price. A round of IVF costs $12,775, and a round of IUI costs $499.

He [Dr. Joseph Findley] listened to us. Understood our issue and planned accordingly...Our of the three IVF doctors we’ve worked with, he is by-far the best. For the first time, I felt like someone was listening to and understanding our fertility issue...Dr Findley is great. But also buddy up to your designated nurse. Email her if you have a question! Understand what is going on for your own peace of mind.
The [University Hospitals Fertility Center] clinic’s strengths is that it’s organized and thorough. You don’t feel like a number and you also have a good understanding of the process...I didn’t end-up with a positive pregnancy from my round at UH and I still think it’s the best clinic we’ve worked with...I absolutely loved working with [nurse] Angela. The nurses during your cycle make such a difference! She helps you organize the schedule, understand your meds, talk through processes.
How was your experience with Joseph Findley at University Hospitals Fertility Center?
Our of the three IVF doctors we’ve worked with, he is by-far the best. For the first time, I felt like someone was listening to and understanding our fertility issue. I also appreciated the level of organization at UH. IVF is all about the details and at other clinics it didn’t feel like anyone was paying attention to those details.

As someone who had been through two previous IVF cycles we knew what hurdles we have going into our fist consultation. He listened to us. Understood our issue and planned accordingly.

Antagonist IVF cycle. Freeze 5 day embryos. PDG testing. Single Embryo Transfer

Describe your experience with University Hospitals Fertility Center.
The clinic’s strengths is that it’s organized and thorough. You don’t feel like a number and you also have a good understanding of the process. I appreciate that when I needed to, I could call or email my nurse and actually speak to her. Places like the Cleveland Clinic gate-keep their whole process and you feel like no one is keeping track of your case. I didn’t end-up with a positive pregnancy from my round at UH and I still think it’s the best clinic we’ve worked with. Because of a generic disorder, my odds for having healthy embryos are very low- that is obviously no fault of the clinic.
Describe the costs associated with your care under Joseph Findley at University Hospitals Fertility Center.
This is an estimate but I believe the IVF package was $12,000 not including medications. My medications were another $3,000-ish. Off site genetic testing was $2,000 (this is dependent on how many embryos you send them to test).

Professional. He [Dr. Findley] was direct and it was not scary. He explained what he was doing and what the course of action would be. ... He was honest. ... He was direct about the fact that IVF is now off the table and not a good option. My thyroid level was to be increased. ... I just went through two tests and three months later... its a long drawn out process with lots of extra visits and seems to take forever but I get the precautions they are taking for my situation.
This office [Vermont Cntr for Repro Med] orgot to schedule me. I had to ask for another doctor to work with because I did call in and she forgot to get me scheduled for the test that I had to wait for my period to start to get. We are three months out and still waiting to even get started on the process because more and more tests came up. They redid tests and those took months to do. They were uncomfortable tests. The stress level is there already so a clinic should have staffing every day to schedule appointments like a vets office.
How was your experience with Joseph Findley at Vermont Center for Reproductive Medicine?
Professional. He was direct and it was not scary. He explained what he was doing and what the course of action would be. It was the first male dr. that I dealt with so far, its good. The change of doctor to vt meant my tests had to be redone and the first cycle had to be skipped because of missed appointments. The test had to be redone. I felt scared but it was fine.
What's one piece of advice would you give a prospective patient of Joseph Findley at Vermont Center for Reproductive Medicine?
None. I dont see any advice is needed at this point. Im still in the middle of trying to get the IUI process going again.
During treatment, were you treated like a number or a human with Joseph Findley at Vermont Center for Reproductive Medicine?
He was honest. The comment that stood out was about how others would tell you what you want to hear to take your money. He was direct about the fact that IVF is now off the table and not a good option. I did have to have to redo a test.

Still very early. I just went through two tests and three months later... its a long drawn out process with lots of extra visits and seems to take forever but I get the precautions they are taking for my situation.
Describe your experience with the nursing staff at Vermont Center for Reproductive Medicine.
One nurse was outright cruel. While she was measuring a follicle she said that she saw a polyp on my ovary that would have to be removed before I got pregnant. That scared me beyond belief then the DR came in and said everything was normal. It was sick.
Describe your experience with Vermont Center for Reproductive Medicine.
Weaknesses, women are not able to set their period to start on a monday when the office is open and its hard to keep setting up planning while working and scheduling etc. This office forgot to schedule me. I had to ask for another doctor to work with because I did call in and she forgot to get me scheduled for the test that I had to wait for my period to start to get. We are three months out and still waiting to even get started on the process because more and more tests came up. They redid tests and those took months to do. They were uncomfortable tests. Describe the costs associated with your care under Joseph Findley at Vermont Center for Reproductive Medicine.
Most covered by insurance except sperm. That is costly

Describe the specific things that went wrong at Vermont Center for Reproductive Medicine.
My thyroid level was to be increased. Local pharm said they did not call it in. Dr on call did not schedule appointment causing a delay for another month to get a test done. The test had to be redone because the dr or tech could not get clear results. Several tests that I did not get results for so I am assuming that everything was fine like pap etc. The scare of the nurse saying there was something on the sonogram and then the dr saying everything was fine upset my husband and I.

Dr. Findley has been the most helpful person in our infertility journey. He is compassionate, caring, knowledgeable, prompt and courteous. He has so much information and never rushes us out of the office, answering each question my husband or I have without hesitation or frustration. I honestly cannot think of any "weaknesses" that he has, as he has been a godsend to us during this time.... Dr. Findley used a multi-faceted approach with my infertility treatments. We utilized medication that is aimed towards weight loss as well as is known to interact in a positive manner with fertility medications.
The clinic [Vermont Center for Reproductive Medicine] is well organized, easy to reach and schedule appointments and is on-top of reminding patients when they have an upcoming appointment. I know that some clinics separate their pregnant patients from their infertility patients, and although it has never been a problem for me, this clinic does not separate them. The clinic has been very easy to work with financially and do their best to bill my insurance in a way that will cover the costs of the procedures, when they're able.

What's one piece of advice would you give a prospective patient of Joseph Findley at Vermont Center for Reproductive Medicine?
Please be sure to ask any questions that you have, and don't be afraid to ask about methods or medications that you're interested in. Dr. Findley is extremely open to these conversations and I have absolute trust in him.
During treatment, were you treated like a number or a human with Joseph Findley at Vermont Center for Reproductive Medicine?
Dr. Findley has always been compassionate, knowledgeable, willing to listen to my input and is genuine in the information he gives.
Describe the protocols Joseph Findley used in your cycles at Vermont Center for Reproductive Medicine and their degree of success.
Dr. Findley used a multi-faceted approach with my infertility treatments. We utilized medication that is aimed towards weight loss as well as is known to interact in a positive manner with fertility medications. Additionally he made several referrals for both myself and my husband to be sure that we knew the "bigger picture". When one medication didn't work, he moved on to another and when that one didn't work, we utilized both medications together. He did not waste what I consider precious time trying to force a medication to work when my lab results indicated that they weren't working at all. Dr. Findley continues to meet with me regularly as I look at addressing other medical issues that may be interfering with my fertility, as a means to make sure he "knows where I'm at".
Describe your experience with the nursing staff at Vermont Center for Reproductive Medicine.
The nursing staff has always been compassionate and kind, but they are sometimes difficult to get in touch with and have not returned messages on a few occasions. They are all very knowledgeable in what they do on a daily basis and it is easy to see that they wish the best for all of their patients.

Describe the costs associated with your care under Joseph Findley at Vermont Center for Reproductive Medicine.
The costs were very affordable and the clinic did their best to bill all procedures in a way that was coded so my insurance (who didn't cover any infertility treatment) would pay for them.
What specific things went wrong at Vermont Center for Reproductive Medicine?

Describe the specific things that went wrong at Vermont Center for Reproductive Medicine.
There have been a few times that I have called and left a message with concerns related to my treatment or symptoms from medications and have not received a call back within the 24-48 hour time frame that is stated on their answering machine.
