[Dr. Skorupski] is very knowledgeable in this area. He doesn’t waver at anything or hesitate to answer. I haven’t asked a question he doesn’t know the answer to. If I did, I’m confident he would research it and get back with me. He is confident without being cocky... When doing a Timed Intercource Cycle, he has had me take Clomid, always does bloodwork and ultrasound to see where we stand. Then I’m instructed when to take Ovidrel (to induce ovulation.) None have produced a pregnancy yet, but I’m confident it still will based on the tests run and the fact that he says everything looks good and healthy.
One thing that I have had problems with is in order to do a Timed Intercourse Cycle [at Aspire Houston Fertility Institute], there are consent forms that must be signed before the trigger shot. If they aren’t signed, the cycle would be canceled. There have been a couple of times where the consent didn’t load properly or weren’t loaded at all. Had I not had to do the TIC cycle multiple times, and KNEW to ask about the consent forms, they wouldn’t have been signed. However, the receptionist knows me by name and is 100% nice and genuine.

Bloodwork and genetic testing were expensive, around $2500 for myself and $2500 for my husband. My insurance changed and it became more expensive each time, whether it was blood drawn or blood and ultrasound, it was all the same price (over $100)

Describe the specific things that went wrong at Aspire Fertility - Houston Fertility Institute (Prelude Network clinic).
After meeting with Dr. Skorupski the first time, bloodwork was talked about and was ordered for a few weeks out. I showed up to do my bloodwork and 1 vial was taken. I thought this was odd because I was supposed to have a lot of things run, such as genetics and a miscarriage panel. So after the 1 vial was taken, I asked the receptionist about more testing and she saw the paperwork and apologized. I had my blood drawn again that same visit. Got finished and asked about something else and more paperwork/testing needed to happen. So I had my blood drawn a 3rd time during this visit.

Dr. Skorupski was very knowledgeable about the different fertility treatments. Due to the fact that during the primary set of testing he found out that I had a low ovarian reserve, he recommended me to do IVF instead of other treatments...after [his] explanations about the change in medications for the second round of IVF, my husband and I decided to give it one chance..
[our Houston Fertility Institute nurse] was very helpful and understanding during my visits. She was also able to answer my questions via the patient portal within a couple of hours...Well, it did take me some time to make my first appointment with a doctor. I think that some of the appointment center agents would benefit from a few more trainings. However, after the first appointment, everything else ran smooth.

Dr. Skorupski was very knowledgeable about the different fertility treatments. Due to the fact that during the primary set of testing he found out that I had a low ovarian reserve, he recommended me to do IVF instead of other treatments. After the first unsuccessful retrieval (which he didn't perform), he gave me the time I needed to regroup. He was very patient to explain the steps to move forward, if I wished to do so. After Dr. Skorupski's explanations about the change in medications for the second round of IVF, my husband and I decided to give it one chance. This time, Dr. Skorupski performed the retrieval and everything was great!

How was your experience with Josh Skorupski at Aspire Fertility - Houston Fertility Institute (Prelude Network clinic)?
He was very thorough through the testing and prediagnosing process. He explained the reasons why he was having me do them, and the pros and cons to all of them. He made time and effort to evaluate my husband to rule out all factors that may be influencing a non-pregnancy. He always answered a question if I had one, and was quick to respond. His bed side manner was completely professional. I never felt uncomfortable with him in the room. He would personally call if there was a set back, and explained everything to my husband and I, so that we could have exact clarity on what was going on. It was greatly appreciated.

Just be honest and be trusting. Dr. Skorupski is super supportive and will be glad to explain anything you need to know.
During treatment, were you treated like a number or a human with Josh Skorupski at Aspire Fertility - Houston Fertility Institute (Prelude Network clinic)?
He was very sincere. Tried to be mindful of my feelings in the situation as this was not a easy thing to deal with, especially when the cycles “failed”. He told me after the last IUI that due to some other factors, that IVF would be a better option for me than to rather continue doing IUIs and them not being successful. It was blunt, but I needed that and appreciated the direct answer than trying to philander the truth.
Describe the protocols Josh Skorupski used in your cycles at Aspire Fertility - Houston Fertility Institute (Prelude Network clinic) and their degree of success.
For the consultation after we gave him the information, he had me sent for blood work and confirmed the current diagnosis of PCOS. From there he put me on a birth control to help regulate a cycle to start looking into treatments. I had already gone through pill related cycles previously with another OB/GYN and told him I had absolute no success. He then had me schedule a hysteroscopy to text the structure, Fallopian tubes, uterus etc. he was able to explain the results very thoroughly which gave me some answers I didn’t even know I needed. He proceeded to start me on a Gonal-f cycle to which the first round I didnt respond to. He had me try another Gonal F cycle to which the dosage was higher and I ended up over stimulating. With cautionary measure, he wanted to keep me monitored and kept up with me 3x a week for ultrasound and blood work visits (for every cycle I participated in). For the 3rd cycle he advised to try IUI and pretty much did the same process. He monitored the dosage of the gonal-f to prevent overstimulation again, and did that petty successfully. When it was time for IUI, I felt very comfortable and eased through the process. After the IUI failure, he wanted to check my husband a little more thoroughly while letting my ovaries heal. Since the failure, he’s prescribed a medication. For the next IUI round, however due to the high AMH levels I contain, Dr. Skorupski did explain that IVF would be a better option for us. Since the. We haven’t been back to see him. Not because of anything he did, we just can’t financially get IVF on our own at this time, hence the application for this grant.

The ladies I had the pleasure of seeing during weekly monitoring, they were super sweet and very concerning to my needs. They would communicate with me very well and would answer any questions I might have had.
Describe your experience with Aspire Fertility - Houston Fertility Institute (Prelude Network clinic).
If you have certain types of insurance, there is the possibility that there would be a higher copay. However, the financial advisor is super sweet and provides you with the expected documentation for what exactly your insurance covers and how much. They do offer some discounts for medications, however I wish they would offer some more incentives. Such as military vet or first responders (police, fire, met) discounts. The payment plan for IVF is a little stiff so someone who doesn’t make 100K a year so it does take a dip into your finances. Overall I know it’s not their fault, but they’re a nice group of medical professionals who try to offer the best services for couples like my husband and I having to go through this.
Describe the costs associated with your care under Josh Skorupski at Aspire Fertility - Houston Fertility Institute (Prelude Network clinic).
$50 co-pay Medications ranged from $1000<$1200 each cycle Hysteroscopy co-pay was around $1300 IUI- was covered by insurance IVF- around $14000 without meds included

Dr. Skorupski always took the time to answer ALLLLL of my questions- I would write out a list for each appointment. In addition, he always explained things in non-medical terms, so that we would know exactly what was going on. I also appreciate that during our first appointment he took the time to listen to our concerns, and he could see that I was visibly stressed...this man that I had met once seemed to care and have more compassion, than my OB that I had been going to for years!
The clinic [Houston Fertility Institute] was organized, I was able to get appointments quickly, and everyone that worked there is nice. The lady that draws blood is AMAZING! I have small rolling veins, and she's always able to get blood on the first try and she is gentle...Leah [nurse] is AMAZING! She took the time to answer all of my questions whenever I would call about results. She was also very gentle whenever she was relaying results that were not good.
How was your experience with Josh Skorupski at Aspire Fertility - Houston Fertility Institute (Prelude Network clinic)?
Pros: -He is extremely patient and knowledgeable. I researched conditions, and treatment EXTENSIVELY before each visit, and came prepared with questions of whatever I did not understand. -He took the time to explain medical terminology, as well as the results of all of our blood work, and the next steps of treatment. - He is very transparent. Cons: -Thus far, I have not had any negative experiences.

He stopped the conversation and said, " It is my job to stress for you. Let me do the stressing, and you worry about being a mommy". It was truly a breath of fresh air, that this man that I had met once seemed to care and have more compassion, than my OB that I had been going to for years! (We started with our OB, and wasted a year before moving on to a specialist)
Describe the protocols Josh Skorupski used in your cycles at Aspire Fertility - Houston Fertility Institute (Prelude Network clinic) and their degree of success.
We have just completed the diagnostic phase. After all of the testing and procedures, we met with Dr. Skorupski and he explained the IVF was our best option for getting pregnant. Below is an explanation of the testing that my husband and I have completed. 1. Medicated cycle - He gave me Provera to induce ovulation. He wanted to check my hormone pre, during, and post ovulation. 2.Genetic screening- to determine if I suffer from or am a carrier for any diseases. 3. Semen Analysis (2) -To access the count, motility, and morphology of the sperm and also determine if male factor is present. 4. Hysteroscopy- To see if there is tubal blockage, or polyps on the tubes. A biopsy was also performed. 5. Hormonal blood test as a result of semen analysis- to determine if there were any hormonal issues leading to abnormal semen analysis. 6. Consult with Skorupski to go over results of hysterospcopy and lab work. Fertility treatment suggestion of IVF was made at this appointment. 7.Meeting with genetic specialist.

I would (and do) highly recommend Dr Skorupski. Very good communicator, patient with questions, used non-medical terms to help me understand, and was always open with risks. He never guaranteed success (something no one should promise) but was always optimistic.... Friendly staff, always felt personal during visits I was hospitalized for 6 days due to hyperstimulation and Dr Skorupski was available to us around the clock
It’s harder to get someone [at Houston Fertility Institute-Willowbrook] on the phone now vs our first cycle in 2016. But overall, everyone is friendly and ready to help. Strength - multiple locations and for most visits you are able to go to one you choose... 2016 cycle: approximately $22k for retrieval and transfer 2018: approx $5k per cycle with medication. The physician fees for the cycle after the cancelled cycle were waived

2016 cycle: can’t remember the medication but we used injections and had an egg retrieval. Due to hyperstimulation, we froze all embryos. We transferred two (we picked boy/girl) after hormone prep (estrogen patch, estrogen pill, and PIO) and had a successful pregnancy/Delivery. 2018: first cycle was cancelled after I did not respond to hormone prep. Second cycle we used gonal f for stimulation, then added estrogen and PIO after trigger shot. Transfer of one tested embryo results in negative preganancy test. Third cycle, we went back to hormone prep but added a viagra vaginal suppository. Transfer of one tested embryo resulted in negative pregnancy test. Fourth cycle, we have done a miscarriage panel and discovered Factor 2 mutation. We went back to gonal f for stimulation plus viagra suppository, Plaquenil, lovenox, and baby aspirin. We transferred two untested embryos and are in the two week wait

For my second hysteroscopy, the scheduling center did not mention a change in doctor performing my procedure when they called to confirm the time of the appointment the day before. I learned at check in that my doctor would not perform the procedure. This only happened once and my doctor proactively addressed it with me when he learned what happened

Dr [Josh Skorupski] is very knowledgeable, knows how to communicate the process, what to expect, both the good and potential bad. He was very involved from start until now. For any challenges I was having, the doctor would call me personally if the news was not good.... Because I was already in peri menopause, doc was very deliberate in everything knowing my age was a huge factor in timing. I did a total of 4 transfers, the first resulting in a chemical pregnancy, the next two resulted in no implantation at all. With each attempt, he adjusted or added to my meds. For our fourth and last attempt , we decided to include Neupogen shot and it worked. I am on Estrace, Mineville patch, Plaqinel, baby aspirin, Lovunox shots, progesterone in oil shots.
Facility [Houston Fertility Institute] in Beaumont and Houston were top notch. Very up to date on technology and equipment. Facility is very modern and clean. Very comfortable atmosphere. I was able to everything with exception of transfer st the Beaumont office which closest to me.... $10,450 for the donor for eggs, $5,500 for PGS testing. This was not covered by insurance. $1300 for medications not covered by insurance. Each transfer was approximately $6,000. Insurance covered all after deductible and out of pocket were met.

Due to my donors age, there concerns about more than one transfer, higher % of embryo splitting. So first two attempts we only transferred one. Knowing my timing was limited , we decided to transfer two on our third attempt which did not work. We had two embryos left so transferred both on our fourth attempt and we had one that did implant. Currently six weeks pregnant.

While I did feel like I was treated with grace & dignity during my first encounter with Dr Skorupski & his office back in 2013 when I came back to his office & staff I was treated cordially but felt like I was being fat shamed because I’m overweight...He was thorough when explaining problems or what he believed were our problems conceiving as well as my multiple miscarriages but I never felt like we had a real plan besides the constant comment of “I need to lose weight”.
When I first became a patient [at Houston Fertility Institute] with Dr Skorupski (in 2013) I loved his nurses & staff. Heather was my nurse & she was so kind & helpful, even the receptionist/office manager was amazing. Always so kind & helpful. When I returned in 2017 the staff left something to be desired. They came off as cold & unwelcoming, like I was a nuisance. The on site phlebotomist was always kind & the one time I had a nurse do an ultrasound she was pleasant but overall it wasn’t a great experience going into the office. I hope maybe they were just having a bad day when I happened to be there but who knows.
How was your experience with Josh Skorupski at Aspire Fertility - Houston Fertility Institute (Prelude Network clinic)?
I felt like he did care about the well-being of my overall health as well as my husband but still felt like all of my problems were being blamed on my weight rather than doing more testing. He is a very kind doctor & I believe he wants the best for his patients but I just couldn’t get over the fat shaming I felt. He was thorough when explaining problems or what he believed were our problems conceiving as well as my multiple miscarriages but I never felt like we had a real plan besides the constant comment of “I need to lose weight”.
What's one piece of advice would you give a prospective patient of Josh Skorupski at Aspire Fertility - Houston Fertility Institute (Prelude Network clinic)?
Be prepared before going in to your appointments. Write down questions, concerns, anything you can think of, that way you don’t get flustered & forget in the moment. Bring someone to advocate for you if you need. It can help tremendously.
During treatment, were you treated like a number or a human with Josh Skorupski at Aspire Fertility - Houston Fertility Institute (Prelude Network clinic)?

The Beaumont office is basically brand new. Location is easily accessible. Office was always clean & nice. They do have an onset phlebotomists but she’s only their on certain days. It was difficult at time for my husband to go in because they only do sperm samples or testing on certain days. Same with Dr Skorupski. He was only available on certain days because he works both in Houston & Beaumont offices.
Describe the costs associated with your care under Josh Skorupski at Aspire Fertility - Houston Fertility Institute (Prelude Network clinic).
Most of my testing was done out of pocket. I can’t remember if insurance covered anything specific.

Describe the specific things that went wrong at Aspire Fertility - Houston Fertility Institute (Prelude Network clinic).
I would have trouble getting results. I would have to call or check my email daily to see if things would come in. They do have an app set up to help with getting results & testing but I always had trouble getting my information.

I liked him [Dr. Skorupski] because he explained my diagnose, but not the procedure because i didn’t know what to expect. He does show compassion, and listened to my question and complains. When my husband and I went we asked him to fill our some forms for a grant and he said he would, but at the end we didn’t qualify for it.... Make sure he explains the procedure you’ll be getting done.... When the Dr. Skropuski saw me in Beaumont I was treated like a human.
Once you get your treatment they [Houston Fertility Institute] send you to the main location in Houston. For Iui you get which ever doctor is available.... They didn’t defrost my husband’s sperm on time. On 2016, a dr. Bello didn’t send the right prescription to the pharmacy and prescribed the wrong one too, and I did t get any explanation and results about procedure.... Tammi was working with another nurse that she was training. That nurse was immature, interrupting Tammi when we were trying to scheduled.

During treatment, were you treated like a number or a human with Josh Skorupski at Aspire Fertility - Houston Fertility Institute (Prelude Network clinic)?
When I went to Houston go get my IUI I felt like a number. They messed up my procedure because they forgot to defrost my husband’s sperm. Therefore, an appointment that was scheduled for 10am wasn’t until 1:30p. Then, I had to go inthe next day at 8:30a so they could defrost the sperm, didn’t get seen u til 11:20a. I was one of the first patients there and was the last one to leave. By the way, those two procedures were not done by my doctor. When the Dr. Skropuski saw me in Beaumont I was treated like a human.

Describe your experience with your nurse at Aspire Fertility - Houston Fertility Institute (Prelude Network clinic). (Assigned nurse: Tammi)
Tammi was working with another nurse that she was training. That nurse was immature, interrupting Tammi when we were trying to scheduled. She was so rude that when I called to let them know that I had taken my trigger shot 30 mins late she just answered cross your finger and pray it works. I was so mad because I had just paid a lot of money and it was a bit stressful situation for her to be telling me that.

I came to Dr. Skorupski due to recurrent pregnancy loss. He recommended IVF with PGS, but allowed us to attempt some medicated cycles first since we weren't "there" yet. I recently had my first transfer and am awaiting results...Dr. Skorupski is always willing to discuss any questions we have had at length. I have never felt rushed, and he's even gone out of his way to call us after hours to explain things to us.
The clinic [Houston Fertility Institute] is very busy, so sometimes wait times are long, but I think it's worth it. They are very knowledgable and always take the time to talk things through with you...IVF plus medication and PGS testing ended up costing about $30,000 out of pocket..Sloane is the best! She sends the most detailed emails so that I rarely have a question of what I need to do. When I do have a question, she always answers it promptly!

HFI Willowbrook is a busy clinic, but everyone who you come in contact there is wonderful. They are busy because they do a great job! Dr. Skorupski has my complete trust and he has always been very open, honest, and matter-of-fact.

Monitoring appointments were always in the morning, and typically you get your lab work first. Then you go back to the waiting room until it is time for the ultrasound. If a doctor is in, they perform the ultrasound, otherwise it is a nurse.

I was treated like a human, because Dr Skorupski took the time to listen to me, and to explain to me what were my options, and also the chances of success. He requested so many tests. Unfortunately, my 3 IUI were not successful...is a good listener. He explains to his patients, in detail, all the options on the table, and also the risks. He asks for exams, and when the results are out there, he takes time to explain the diagnosis. My experience with him personally was not bad. This assessment says a lot, because I could be somehow biased against him, because I did an IUI procedure at least 3 times, and the result was negative.
The nurses [at Houston Fertility Institute] always tried to make me comfortable. I could feel their passion. So this is their main strength. The weakness is related to my 2nd IUI. Because that time my husband sperm was abundant and of good quality, the nurse make me feel like this time, the result would be positive, and I'll conceive. I was really disappointed by the outcome...My husband sperm was kept and frozen. It was a free service at the time. After one year, they decided to make that service no longer for free. They didn't communicate about it. So, we found it out when they sent a bill. we called them and they finally waived that fee, and destroyed my husband sperm sample.

Josh Skorupski is a good listener. At the time, my Husband was working overseas, while I was leaving alone, and jobless, with no real support system, beside a cousin of mine. So I felt a little bit traumatized by the outcome. During the first 2 visits, my husband came with me. We had prepared several questions, and Dr Skorupski replied to each of them to our satisfaction. I did many exams, and so did my husband. There was no red flag for me, while my husband had low sperm count. Josh Skorupski recommended to avoid stressfull situations, exercise, and sleep regularly. We did our first IUI before my husband return trip, and it was negative. When my husband returned to Houston, his sperm count had significantly improved, and was normal. We did the 2nd IUI and it still failed. the HFI froze my husband semen, and I did a 3rd IUI, which also failed. SO, that's a summary of my experience with Dr Skorupski. I believe he did what he had to. But we were just unlucky.
What's one piece of advice would you give a prospective patient of Josh Skorupski at Aspire Fertility - Houston Fertility Institute (Prelude Network clinic)?
I would say, do your research, and come prepare with your questions on your first visit. Dr Skorupski will always ask you about your questions.

Houston Fertility clinic in Willowbrook, was near our house, so it was a plus for me. It was also easy to secure an appointment. The facility seemed well maintained. The weakness, was the waiting time. Sometimes, I would show up on time for my appointment, but would wait more time before being able to see the doctor.
Describe the costs associated with your care under Josh Skorupski at Aspire Fertility - Houston Fertility Institute (Prelude Network clinic).
I don't remember very well, but I believe the cost of IUI cycle and medication was around $2,500 to $3,000

[Dr. Josh Skorupski] made us feel very important in each meeting we had. He took his time in explaining everything and did it in a way that we could understand. He was very caring and let us choose our own course of treatment. He just explained all the details/percentages/etc and let us go home to decide. We never felt rushed to make a choice. He is very compassionate.
The clinic [Aspire Houston Fertility Institute] is very peaceful from the moment you walk in to the moment you walk out. I always felt very welcome and appreciated while there. I never felt like "just a patient". I could tell the staff truly cares about their patients...The costs were cheaper than I expected. I even received a discount for being a teacher...Dr. Skorupski never seemed rushed or on a time schedule when with my husband and me. He made us feel like we were his only patients.

I felt like a human because he [Dr. Skorupski] spoke with us and was very understanding, yet matter of fact... He wanted us to jump strait to IVF and didn't offer any natural alternatives that we could try...For my hysteroscopy, everything went great. I was very pleased with the results...He is good, he's just very matter of fact, so you have to be ready to hear that...
The front desk lady [at Houston Fertility Institute] wasn't the nicest, but she was pregnant, so I kind of let it slide. Everyone else was friendly. The lady who took my blood was very nice, and the clinic was really clean and orderly. The location of the clinic is close to my house and all of the staff is very kind...[nurses were] kind, detailed, made sure I had followed the instructions before my procedure and that things were clear to me.
How was your experience with Josh Skorupski at Aspire Fertility - Houston Fertility Institute (Prelude Network clinic)?
He was good, I just sort of felt like he was after our money. He wanted us to jump strait to IVF and didn't offer any natural alternatives that we could try. But, he may be right that IVF is the only option for us if we want to have kids. I am currently saving up for it now. It is going to take two-three years for me to earn enough money to pay for IVF out of pocket.

Dr Skorupski is amazing. He will get the job done no problem. You always see him every visit. He will tell you that your infertility is not your burden anymore and that he will handle it. That is such a relief ... Dr Skorupski is very honest and sincere. He will take on your burden and leave you at peace..... Make sure you go in there being aggressive and not passive. Know what you want and have your finances in order and ready to go.
The nurse [at Houston Fertility Institute] failed to call in a prescription. We were the last patients of the day. I had to email to remind the medical assistant. She didn't do it right away had to wait a few hours. Made me think if you can't call out a simple birth control pill how are you going to handle my injections.... Not organized at all, forgetful. A positive is they will respond to email very quickly.

That is such a relief Staff in the beaumont office needs better training and the financial department you literally have to stay on them. But the doctors can not be held responsible for the lack of a good staff it falls on the administrator. I'm not there for the staff just the great doctors they have .

Describe the specific things that went wrong at Aspire Fertility - Houston Fertility Institute (Prelude Network clinic).
The nurse failed to call in a prescription. We were the last patients of the day. I had to email to remind the medical assistant. She didn't do it right away had to wait a few hours. Made me think if you can't call out a simple birth control pill how are you going to handle my injections.

Success w/ Doc Too early to know
Dr Skorupski is highly knowledgeable and experienced. He came highly recommended by several in my friends circle and he did not disappoint. Great communicator, caring, gave us a say in our treatment, involved.... Dr. Skorupski took time with us to help us decide on our options. He explained all the options in details. He responds to calls quickly and shows that he cares.
Strengths: Multiple highly successful doctors. Great clinical staff [Houston Fertility Institute]. Clean and organized. Respond to calls and emails quickly. Personal touch. Upfront about costs. Weaknesses: More expensive than a lot of other clinics.... We paid about $7500 for doctors fees to the clinic, which included 1 IVF cycle. $3000 for medications. Approximately $4000 for hysterescopy. Approximately $6000 for OR and anesthesia.

I felt like we discussed our options and then once WE were ready to move forward, he let us move at a pace that we appreciated. There was never any pressure to do more or less than what we were comfortable with.
June was the best nurse; I could not have asked for more. She was so compassionate and treated us like she knew we were going to be successful no matter what difficulties we had faced. She was nothing but uplifting.

During treatment, were you treated like a number or a human with Josh Skorupski at Aspire Fertility - Houston Fertility Institute (Prelude Network clinic)?
I think that the team that was at his office was very caring and truly cared about my outcome. The best person that I dealt with at his office was his sonographer, she was always so positive every time I was there. The egg donor coordinator was located at a separate office and the coordination and communication was not as good with her.

Medicated IUI [with Dr. Josh Skorupski]. We are pregnant after the first round...He was informative and very calming about the process. He listened to our concerns and made us the major decision makers while providing support. At no time did I feel like he was quick to push more expensive treatments just for financial gain. He let us decide what course of treatment we were comfortable with but advised whatever we try to no do so more than 3 times to avoid wasting money or time.
We are very pleased with all aspects of this experience [at Houston Fertility Institute]...Medicated IUI. Dr. S would take time after hours working on researching specifics for my case. He was so involved, he felt like family, who cared more than anything about us having a child...Let him tell you what he thinks is the best option. He is right. You can try to research it yourself and he will listen but this man knows what he is doing! Try to find trust in him and know he is there for you...For myself only having two frozen embryos after we did PGS testing on the 6 I had. Dr. S wanted us to do one at a time.
The whole [Aspire Houston Fertility Institute] staff, from Lindsay at the front desk, are always welcoming. They treat you like family, they listen to you, they make you feel comfortable...Dr. S would take time after hours working on researching specifics for my case. He was so involved, he felt like family, who cared more than anything about us having a child. His staff cried and hugged us so many times when I had to leave their care and go to my Gyno. They made me feel important and seen.
How was your experience with Josh Skorupski at Aspire Fertility - Houston Fertility Institute (Prelude Network clinic)?
We had switched from another provider who was more aggressive with the IVF process and it left me scared to move forward and Dr. S. made sure he explained every situation to me so I wasn't afraid. Right after I started seeing Dr. S and started my infertility journey, I was in a bad car accident that derailed my IVF procedures for a few years. Dr Skorupski maintained by care and continued to track my blood and also helped with his own opinions on how to heal and to get better following that accident. I was experiencing seizures and other issues with my adrenal glands so we halted treatment. He listened to my google search rants, and allowed me to have anxiety and he never acted like I was dramatic. He always seemed like a friend who was eager to know what was happening and how we could achieve my goal. Once I felt healthy to move forward, we put in my first egg in December 2021,and it didn't take. Then in March of 2022, we put in my last egg and we changed the treatment to include a few more medications like the baby glue, blood thinner shots and Plaquenil. This time it worked and I was blessed with a little girl. She is 11 months old next week!

Describe the protocols Josh Skorupski used in your cycles at Aspire Fertility - Houston Fertility Institute (Prelude Network clinic) and their degree of success.
I had many exploratory surgeries, laparoscopy and saline hystoscope....After my first egg didn't take, I had a feeling that it was because of low Progesterone. Once the second egg was put in I asked to come in two days later ( instead of a week later) because I was getting a sensation that my period was starting just like with the first egg. They told me to come in and did blood work and found that I needed to go from 200 Progesterone up to 800! Thank the Lord I came in that day to do it because I believe it was why the first egg didn't work. I wore an estrogen patch and took a estrogen pill once a day with the progesterone shots in the butt and the vaginal ones. Along with Plaquenil ( which we stopped at 12 weeks because it made me so sick I lost 12lbs), blood thinner shot.

I never had an issue with the clinic except for when I had to leave my first provider, because we had personality conflicts. As soon as that happened it was like Christmas for me! I was able to feel comfortable every time I went to the office and never had an issue with anyone or the way I felt again.
Describe the costs associated with your care under Josh Skorupski at Aspire Fertility - Houston Fertility Institute (Prelude Network clinic).
In the 5 years we did IVF, surgeries, and treatment I believe we spent around $30K ( IVF Process) - 60,000. It sounds like a lot but I had: A Laparoscopy, Saline Hysteroscopy, Egg Retrieval, PGS Testing of 8 eggs, medicine for two egg transfers, extra bloodwork from family issues, and finally a singleton birth so medicine for 12 weeks.

He is very thorough and even has a box of tissues on the desk in front of you if you need them.

[Dr. Skorupski] was very upfront with all options and course of plan. He never pushed anything on us, gave us all the options and information we needed so that we could make an informed decision and feel good about it...overall cost for monitoring, egg retrieval, year storage,PGS Testing FET, meds, and monitoring until 13 weeks pregnant was around $28,000...gone out of his way to make this process as easy as possible
[Houston Fertility Institute] always messaged you right away with your results...overall cost for monitoring, egg retrieval, year storage,PGS Testing FET, meds, and monitoring until 13 weeks pregnant was around $28,000...first time I’ve ever not been annoyed with a doctor office wait time. Same with the wait times in the rooms.
How was your experience with Josh Skorupski at Aspire Fertility - Houston Fertility Institute (Prelude Network clinic)?
He was very upfront with all options and course of plan. He never pushed anything on us, gave us all the options and information we needed so that we could make an informed decision and feel good about it. He was always very positive and helpful and went above and beyond to help out. Currently doing a embryo transfer from out of town, he has made this process so easy and gone out of his way to make this process as easy as possible for being out of town.

Describe the protocols Josh Skorupski used in your cycles at Aspire Fertility - Houston Fertility Institute (Prelude Network clinic) and their degree of success.
We tried one round of clomid and timed intercourse. I did not respond to the medication. We tried Femara as well and I did not ovulate. So we met with him after that treatment to come up with a new game plan. He said we could try IUI with injectables or go right to IVF. He said some people don’t do ivf bc of religious reasons. He said that a couple rounds of injections/IUI could run the same cost as IVF. He said he was confident he could get me pregnant with ivf, it was just a matter of how soon we wanted to be so pregnant. So we opted to go right to IVF. My first ivf cycle was a complete success. 53 eggs retrieved, 28 embryos, and 18 made it to freeze. I had a successful frozen embryo transfer, ended with a live Singleton birth.

My first fertility treatment was a round of Clomid and Dr. Skorupski noticed that my body didn't do well with it, so we changed to a better medicine the next time.... He is a great doctor. Sometimes I was unsure on instructions as they weren't clearly given, but he always answers all questions I may have. He always makes it a point to see me even when they are busy.... He is very nice and patient. He answers all questions without rushing.
It [HFI-Beaumont] is a great clinic. I only wish they performed more services here in Beaumont instead of having to travel to Houston for the procedures. The staff really cares. Sometimes the instruction they give isn't 100% clear, but they are quick to answer any questions I may have... They [the nursing staff] are very quick to respond to messages I send with questions and very nice.... The cost of care seems to run about average according to the figures that I have researched.

Dr. Skorupski was extremely informative during every step of our IVF process. He explained the why and how for everything. He has great bed side manner and was always kind and upbeat during my visits...suggested to only transfer one embryo...Trust that he knows what he is doing. There are always more steps and everything takes longer than what you want but it will all work out in the end.
The [Houston Fertility Institute] clinic was always clean and well taken care of.The nursing staff was always very warm and welcoming. No one in the office treated me like a number, everyone called me by my name and said hi/bye for every visit. When I had questions after my appointment they were always quick to reply to me through the patient portal which was so helpful since this process can be sensitive. I was sad to leave them because they were all so sweet and caring.

Describe your experience with Aspire Fertility - Houston Fertility Institute (Prelude Network clinic).
The clinic was always clean and well taken care of. There were plenty of seats on busy days, which sometimes had longer wait times but understandable. The receptionist was always welcoming and knew who I was, what my appointment was for. There was only one or two times out of the dozen or so that I had to wait for more than 10 minutes to go into a room or for a nurse to come into my room.
Describe the costs associated with your care under Josh Skorupski at Aspire Fertility - Houston Fertility Institute (Prelude Network clinic).
My insurance through my job covered more than most but some costs like the PGS testing is not covered. We still paid over $1,000 for medications and hundreds - thousands for all procedures.
Describe Josh Skorupski's approach to eSET (elective single embryo transfer) vs. multiple embryo transfer at Aspire Fertility - Houston Fertility Institute (Prelude Network clinic).
Dr. Skorupski suggested to only transfer one embryo.
