She [Dr. Honea] would advise us to have intercourse following trigger shot. We would come a week later for a progesterone check and then a week later for a pregnancy check. She also said we would be a candidate for IUI when we decided we wanted to go forward with that treatment...I felt like she listened to what we were struggling with and then came up with a game plan for us...She explained that we may not have success right away but assured us that she would walk with us and change treatment action according to what the outcome was and what our preference was.

We went on Femara from days 5 to 9 of each cycle. And then would receive a trigger shot around day 14 of the cycle. She would advise us to have intercourse following trigger shot. We would come a week later for a progesterone check and then a week later for a pregnancy check. She also said we would be a candidate for IUI when we decided we wanted to go forward with that treatment.

They are in the middle of a construction zone right now in the Huntsville office, which is not their doing but a little hard to get to considering. They are very organized and work with my schedule. Between office visits, medications and procedures we have spent well over $1,000 in the last 2 months.
Dr. Honea was someone I was not afraid to open up to. She always explain the dos and don't to the T no short cuts. She even explain her life stories that related to me. She even convinced my partner to stop smoking and I thank her for that. She always explain why things would be hard to work because of my past illnesses such as previous STD. She performed a surgery on me to remove a polyp, and I can asure I was in good hands it was a sucess. Whenever I had a question she would always make time to call me back. If I cried she would smile and tell me my baby is coming.
[ART Fertility Program of AL's] Strength: Friendly, open arms, listening ear, positive vibes, trustworthy, and very respectful. Weaknesses: Some treatments are prices. Could not be seen again until I paid off balance. That is the only reason I stop going is because I am still trying to pay off my balance. I used all my money on IUIs and could not pick up what the insurance didn't cover. Other than that everything is great at ARTs.

Checking my lining every cycle before I take my clomid, charting body temperature for the first 3 cycles to see if I was ovulating, trigger shots, 3 cycles of IUIs. I stopped at 3 because I had used all of my saving in my account.
Describe your experience with your nurse at Alabama Fertility Specialists (formerly ART Fertility Program of Alabama). (Assigned nurse: Ms. Naccy)
Everyone was kind and sweet. Once you get there the nurse draws your bleed. It's not a in and out thing she ask me how was work last night and how was I feeling at all times. Nurse Nanccy is very loving I even call her mom sometimes. She is never I a hurry she will always say I'm ready when you are my dear lol especially shot time! If I'm 5 minutes late they would call to make sure I was up or on the way, they never cancelled on me they always waited on me, they would say we gotta get this baby in the oven! 😍

My blue Cross blue shield insurance was not the best but it did ok cause some of my visit was no more than 20.00 or sometimes it would be free on my end because I would have a balance. The IUIs was a bit pricey it was 495 and my insurance did not cover those, so yes I went broke doing 4 rounds of IUI, but it's OK all I wanted was a baby😥
Describe Kathryn Honea (retired)'s approach to eSET (elective single embryo transfer) vs. multiple embryo transfer at Alabama Fertility Specialists (formerly ART Fertility Program of Alabama).
We are doing IVF due to an inherited genetic disorder we do not want to pass to our children. Dr Honea listed to our story and supported us. She is very blunt and gives her honest opinion so if you can’t handle honesty she is not for you. For example, she is very honest about her opinion to not want to discard unused viable embryos.... Menopur/follistim, then monitored every other day until cetrotide was added. One embryos were 1.8cm HCG trigger shot 36hrs before retrieval. Her rationale was it was the same successful plan used my first cycle so why change.
They [the staff at ART Fertility Program of AL] are very efficient and all staff is wonderful. No one wastes your time which I appreciate. I’ve never waited longer than 15 minutes. Only negative is the clinic is older. It is however kept very clean.... Everyone on the staff has been so sweet and really makes you feel comfortable going through such an uncomfortable time. Even the lady who draws your blood is amazing. The ultrasound tech is such a sweetheart too! I love them all!

My first experience with another doctor I was 100% just a number and that was horrible. I wasn’t given an appointment and just had to wait in line. Dr Honea sat us in her office from day one and listened to our needs. I always have an appointment time and very little waiting to see someone. Follow up calls are always made frequently.

Describe Kathryn Honea (retired)'s approach to eSET (elective single embryo transfer) vs. multiple embryo transfer at Alabama Fertility Specialists (formerly ART Fertility Program of Alabama).
I respect her opinion for a single embryo transfer. A multiples pregnancy is higher risk so why try and achieve that first.
She [Dr. Kathryn Honea] also had to remove a large fibroid on my uterus that was causing me pain and maybe the cause of me not getting my periods... She would then start me on cycles of estrace, progesterone, and a round of metaformin because my blood glucose was extremely high and they thought that I might have PCOS...After about 2 years Dr. Honea came to the conclusion that I was pre-menapausal, and that I may not get my period again, but she continued wit the estrace and progesterone in order to build my lining for the donor eggs; because she said that would be our best option for having children.
The Birmingham nurses [at ART Fertility Program of Alabama] are the main points of contact, and are in charge of the nursing line. I don't get to talk to the nurses in Huntsville unless I schedule an appointment. I think that her nursing staff are pretty nice, but I would like to be able to speak directly with the nursing staff at her Huntsville office since I deal with them more often than the Birmingham nursing staff. Both nursing staff are very helpful.
How was your experience with Kathryn Honea (retired) at Alabama Fertility Specialists (formerly ART Fertility Program of Alabama)?
My experience as a patient with Dr. Honea has been pretty good. I think that she is very knowledgeable and I respect that she is easy to talk to. I really respect her that she has gone through a similar process to conceive her children, and that she was very understanding when we had to re-start our the process because my dad passed unexpectedly prior to us being the donor egg transfer; which put a lot of stress on our family. She makes you feel like you are not crazy for your feelings, and that you are not broken but just have to find a different way to become a mom. She has been our doctor for more than three years, and we would recommend her to other people. She has a personality that makes you feel comfortable and at ease, and makes you feel like become parents.
She makes me feel comfortable and at ease, and answers any questions that I might have. I really appreciate her honestly, and I really like the fact that she is spiritual as well. She has made my husband and I experience pretty good, and help answer our questions.
What's one piece of advice would you give a prospective patient of Kathryn Honea (retired) at Alabama Fertility Specialists (formerly ART Fertility Program of Alabama)?
A piece of advice that I would give a patient coming to Dr. Honea would be to come with any questions that you may have. Don't be afraid to ask your questions, and don't think that any question you ask are weird or not right to ask. You want to make sure that you questions and concerns are addressed, and don't be afraid to ask again if you don't understand. Don't be afraid that your questions are stupid or that you may have asked them more than once.
During treatment, were you treated like a number or a human with Kathryn Honea (retired) at Alabama Fertility Specialists (formerly ART Fertility Program of Alabama)?
I think I feel like a number sometime because I don't have a direct contact with her office. I have to call the nurses line, and then wait all day or even sometimes two days to hear from them. I think because her practice is so large that you feel like a number because there are some many patients. Also, with her main practice being in Birmingham; its hard a lot of the time to get in touch with her even though she has an office in Huntsville. Moreover, I am a patient at the Huntsville office. The staff at the Huntsville office are amazing, but I don't have direct contact with them if I have any questions, and everything is funneled through the Birmingham office, which makes it difficult. Sometimes, it feels like being a number because I don't have someone directly that I can call with questions. I think that if my care was designed specifically for me and they would stay in contact with me more, I wouldn't feel so much like a number.
Describe the protocols Kathryn Honea (retired) used in your cycles at Alabama Fertility Specialists (formerly ART Fertility Program of Alabama) and their degree of success.
When I first started with Dr. Honea, I believe some of the first strategies that she used involved trying to get my period started. She used clomid, and birth control pills to try and get my period started, but I wasn't able to get my period started. She also had to remove a large fibroid on my uterus that was causing me pain and maybe the cause of me not getting my periods. After the surgery, she still continued to try and start my period, and I did get my period at least twice, but then it stopped. She would then start me on cycles of estrace, progesterone, and a round of metaformin because my blood glucose was extremely high and they thought that I might have PCOS. Moreover, when I would go for a uterine lining check, it was not thick enough, and my levels were not were they needed to be, so they would start the process over again. I continued on the cycles for about 2 years, switching my medicine out from estrace and progesterone to metaformin. After about 2 years Dr. Honea came to the conclusion that I was pre-menapausal, and that I may not get my period again, but she continued wit the estrace and progesterone in order to build my lining for the donor eggs; because she said that would be our best option for having children. However, I had to stop my cycles when my dad passed away unexpectedly in 2016, and I wasn't able to really start again until January of 2017. When I started treatment again, she also tried a round of Lupron shots for about 2 months in to get my lining and numbers up to par in order to get ready for the frozen egg transfer. She stopped the lupron shots because I still didn't get a period, but my lining was adequate and she ordered a SIS, and HSG back in October of 2017 which came back normal, as she wanted to make sure that my body would be ready to receive the donor eggs. I have continued to be on the metaformin, estrace, and progestrone for now until do select a donor from MyEggBank.

I think that the Nursing staff at her Huntsville office are great. I don't have that much direct contact with the nursing staff at Dr. Honea main office in Birmingham. I think that her nursing staff in her Huntsville office are so nice and compassionate, and I really enjoy her staff there. The nurses at the Birmingham office I have only spoken to over the phone, and they seem pretty nice. The Birmingham nurses are the main points of contact, and are in charge of the nursing line. Describe your experience with Alabama Fertility Specialists (formerly ART Fertility Program of Alabama).
I would describe the ART of Program of Alabama strengths as follows:Knowledgeable and caring physicians and nurses; More than one location;Welcoming staff; Some weekend appointments offered;Lots of resources available regarding infertility; Answers your questions and helps you understand the processes involved with the ways you can become parents. Another strength would be the scheduling process.
I would say that some of their weaknesses would be not being able to email the office with questions, not being able to speak with nurses at your designated clinic directly, and not having a specific nurse assigned to you.
Describe the costs associated with your care under Kathryn Honea (retired) at Alabama Fertility Specialists (formerly ART Fertility Program of Alabama).
My insurance did not pay for any of my expenses with Dr. Honea; however, my husband's insurance did pick up some of the cost. Moreover, I was still responsible for payments that our insurace didnt cover such as medications such as Lupron that cost $179.00. Exams that would cost between $200 to $250. I have come out of pocket for medications, office visits/exams SIS, HSG, and the our psychological consult that we did prior to registering with MyEggBank. In total we have spent roughly $6,500 out of pocket.
Describe Kathryn Honea (retired)'s approach to eSET (elective single embryo transfer) vs. multiple embryo transfer at Alabama Fertility Specialists (formerly ART Fertility Program of Alabama).
Dr. Honea will be doing a single embryo transfer which I am okay with since this is our first time doing it, and we wanted to make sure that if it didn't work on the first try, that we had another embryo to try.

Describe the specific things that went wrong at Alabama Fertility Specialists (formerly ART Fertility Program of Alabama).
I sent in some paperwork regarding completing my medical information for a grant that my husband and I were applying for and they didn't return the forms back to us, so we had to re-request for them to complete them again.
We love Dr Honea. She has always treated me like a human being, not just another number. She is very experienced and compassionate. She has personally called us when problems have arose and when I found out I miscarried. She is straight forward and always tells us what our next step is... For IVF we decided to try the Shared Risk refund program where payment is due upfront and 3 IVF cycles are included. We paid $18,800 for 3 cycles, which doesn’t include the stim meds or monitoring office visits. The IVF cycles include egg retrieval and transfers and if ICSI is needed as well.
It [ART Fertility Program of AL] is a large clinic with multiple doctors so sometimes I have felt like just a number when traveling to the main Birmingham office. I understand they are busy, but I have encountered mistakes and miscommunication between myself and some of the staff members. It was pretty discouraging even with how much we love our doctor.

Describe your experience with the nursing staff at Alabama Fertility Specialists (formerly ART Fertility Program of Alabama).
I have been lucky to *mostly* speak with the same nurse, Lauren. However, at such a large practice I have had to speak to other nurses. I️ always feel way more comfortable just speaking with the same nurse because it feels more personal. I have come across some nurses that are not very compassionate and it feels like they’re just scooting me along or I have asked a stupid question. I’ve often told my husband that just because the nurses deal with so many patients everyday and have probably become custom to all of the weird questions, they should still try to show more compassion, sometimes the bluntness is a little harsh.

We started with an IUI and I️ think the cost was around $300. But we did a sperm freeze as well so I believe that was another $300. I don’t exactly remember how much the medicine cost.
We have had two egg retrievals so that means two rounds of shots each time costing around $1,400. Normally I pay $35-75 per office visit when an ultrasound is needed, which is every week after a positive pregnancy test is confirmed.
Describe Kathryn Honea (retired)'s approach to eSET (elective single embryo transfer) vs. multiple embryo transfer at Alabama Fertility Specialists (formerly ART Fertility Program of Alabama).
Dr Honea has strong opinions on multiple births. I have gathered because of my age that she prefers to transfer just one embryo at a time. After this miscarriage we may move onto two embryos next transfer. But she is very weary of multiples and the risks of carrying multiples.

Describe the specific things that went wrong at Alabama Fertility Specialists (formerly ART Fertility Program of Alabama).
During our first IUI with the clinic we waited for ever because there was miscommunication with the different nurses and what we were doing that day. We had to make a quick decision whether we wanted to use my husbands fresh sperm or a frozen sample he had given before. The nurse called us when we had left the office and wanted an answer right then (we only had about 3 tiny vials of sperm) and weren’t sure what we wanted to do. More sperm samples meant driving 2 extra hours. We made it decision and called the nurse back only to speak with a different nurse. When the nurse practitioner finally came in to perform the IUI, we asked where the frozen sperm was and she said she wasn’t told we were using frozen sperm. I was furious. So the sperm we needed to use was still frozen and we had to wait an additional hour and a half in this tiny room for it to thaw. I think just with speaking with multiple nurses that day none of the information/decisions were relayed properly between nurses.
She [Dr. Honea] always made sure we felt comfortable with the next steps and made sure we knew the risks that accompanied each treatment. She wanted me to gain weight so that I had a good chance of getting pregnant and was clear in her expectations of what we needed to do. She made sure my husband was on the best medication to help the Male factor issue and had him come back for more testing if she wasnt seeing results she wanted.
The clinic [ART Fertility Program of Alabama] is really clean and organized. The front staff are very kind and helpful. They are really quick to get you an appt as soon as possible and work with your schedule when possible. The techs are really kind and really good at drawing blood. They make sure you feel ok afterward and give Sprite and crackers when they see you need it. The nurses are knowledgable and are very prompt in orderjng your medication. They are also really supportive and encouraging when doing an iui procedure.

She never made us feel silly for wanting c hi children of our own and works her hardest to help us grow our family. I never felt she was too quick with surgery or anything else that seemed risky. She is very cautious with her words and actions. I tell people all the time how lucky we are to have a doctor we trust.

I personally havent noticed any weakness. She [Dr. Honea] was very attentive she listen to me. She made sure to elaborate and explain things to me. If i seemed confused she noticed it from my expressions. She knows of my financial difficulties so she sent me paperwork and information on a least expensive procedure when i received it in the mail it gave me more hope. She's very understanding. I wish i had of came to her first before my prior doctor

We had a consult first. She requested for my prior records first. She viewed them then i came back she discuss what ahe possibly seen and gave me "options" on what i could do but she first wanted to look at the tubes herself. We schedule for the procedure to look. We checked for possible causes endometriosis cysts and other things. Then we look to see if i was still producing enough eggs. Everything was on the up and up until the procedure to look of course the tubes where still blocked after having them reversed...yet disappointed again. Once again she gave options on other procedures but i am still paying for the reversal so i can't afford another loan that extensive for IVF or to attempt another tubal reversal. So then i received the paper/ flyer in the mail about invocell little less expensive but the company i have medical loan with they dont accept which os care credit and i cant get another loan from else where but i still have hope and she does also. So i recieved an email about a grant and i had to give this chance a try because i refuse to give up

No she just informed me that they will take several eggs and i can emplant up to 2 or 3 i think she said and informed me of the cost to keep them or to donate them still leaving it as my choice
I only saw Dr. Honea twice throughout my entire IVF cycle.... When I asked a question about an upcoming appointment, trying to verify that I wasn’t messing anything up, she stopped me mid question and dorected me to ask the IVF coordinator.... When I first met Dr. Honea I fell in love with her personality.... By the end of the IVF cycle, I felt worthless and irrelevant.... With the lack of communication to the failure to discuss lab results which would have greatly effected the results of the IVF cycle.
They [ART Fert of AL] seem to be a popular clinic. The waiting room was always packed. HGTV was always playing in tv. Coffee was available in the waiting room even though majority of us had been told not to drink caffeine.... If you had question you had to call and leave a voicemail. There was always someone new returning your call, and you never knew when they were going to call you back. If you left a message before 2:00, it would be returned that day. Any messages left after 2:00 wouldn’t be returned until the next day.
How was your experience with Kathryn Honea (retired) at Alabama Fertility Specialists (formerly ART Fertility Program of Alabama)?
When I first met Dr. Honea I fell in love with her personality. She was relaxed and funny. I left my consultation with assurance that she could provide the best treatment for my husband and me. We chose to use her over another doctor. By the end of the IVF cycle, I felt worthless and irrelevant. Reflecting on everything after the fact is when I realized how little my family meant to her. With the lack of communication to the failure to discuss lab results which would have greatly effected the results of the IVF cycle. I know that there are no guarantees and that IVF is a prayerful plee for positive results, but Dr. Honea took our ability to choose how we went forward. After consulting with a different doctor, we realized that I had a low AMH which would have been the reason I had a low number of eggs retrieved. Dr. Honea only said my labs were good. At the time, I believed her. Now, I wish she would have talked to me about my labs and my options.
What's one piece of advice would you give a prospective patient of Kathryn Honea (retired) at Alabama Fertility Specialists (formerly ART Fertility Program of Alabama)?
Make your own decision, but I would steer clear of ART Fertility.
During treatment, were you treated like a number or a human with Kathryn Honea (retired) at Alabama Fertility Specialists (formerly ART Fertility Program of Alabama)?
I only saw Dr. Honea twice throughout my entire IVF cycle. I met her at our consultation and again at my embryo transfer. I spoke on the phone with her twice. The first time when she called to discuss my husband’s genetic screening. When I asked a question about an upcoming appointment, trying to verify that I wasn’t messing anything up, she stopped me mid question and dorected me to ask the IVF coordinator. The second phone call was when she called to tell me that my pregnancy was nonviable and i had to either stop my Progesterone shots and have a natural miscarriage or continue the shots and schedule a D&C. The third phone call never happened. We were scheduled for a phone conference at 8:30 in the morning. She called at 9:00. I was unavailable. She rescheduled the phone conference for 2:30. Her secretary called to reschedule it for 3:30. No one ever called back. No one. Not Dr. Honea, not the secretary, no one from the clinic called me back.
Describe the protocols Kathryn Honea (retired) used in your cycles at Alabama Fertility Specialists (formerly ART Fertility Program of Alabama) and their degree of success.
I was prescribed Gonal-F, Menopur, and Cetrotide for 10-12 days. I took Pregnyl (HCG) before the retrieval and Progesterone in Oil after. The Centrotide was added after my first scan after my baseline, around Day 3 or 5 perhaps. It caused a small reaction at the injection site that lasted for about 30 minutes, not painful. The Progesterone in Oil started causing hard knots in my muscle and itching on the skin after a couple of days. The nurse suggested warming the medicine a little before injecting. It helped a little.
Describe your experience with the nursing staff at Alabama Fertility Specialists (formerly ART Fertility Program of Alabama).
I met a new nurse with every visit. They seemed to smile and nod and go about their day to day routine. I had one nurse call me and tell me that my schedule was wrong and I was going to have to wait. After I got upset someone called and apologized for her miscommunication. There was one or two nurses that I spoke to several times and actually learned their names. They were great. Hailey and Lauren. Everyone else is a blur.

They seem to be a popular clinic. The waiting room was always packed. HGTV was always playing in tv. Coffee was available in the waiting room even though majority of us had been told not to drink caffeine. I always found that ironic. The wait time was never more than 30 minutes. They were very quick to get you in and seen. They have a large staff so there was never a friendly face to greet you at the door. If you had question you had to call and leave a voicemail. There was always someone new returning your call, and you never knew when they were going to call you back. If you left a message before 2:00, it would be returned that day. Any messages left after 2:00 wouldn’t be returned until the next day. I never felt like I knew what was going on even after asking the same questions every time.
Describe the costs associated with your care under Kathryn Honea (retired) at Alabama Fertility Specialists (formerly ART Fertility Program of Alabama).
We had to pay a little over $13,000 for the egg and sperm retrieval, fertilization, and the embryo transfer. Other labs and monitoring fees cost a few thousand.
Describe Kathryn Honea (retired)'s approach to eSET (elective single embryo transfer) vs. multiple embryo transfer at Alabama Fertility Specialists (formerly ART Fertility Program of Alabama).
I only had 1 embryo available for transfer. Out of the 6 eggs retrieved, 5 matured, 4 fertilized. 3 embryos fragmented which left us with 1 embryo available to transfer.
Besides only having 1 available embryo, nothing was ever mentioned about an eSET.

Describe the specific things that went wrong at Alabama Fertility Specialists (formerly ART Fertility Program of Alabama).
Communication is not important to this clinic. After I requested my husband’s and my own records to be sent to our new doctor, I had to go back and call them because they didn’t send everything. They left out mainly things that dealt with my husband. His infectious disease screening and his results from when they retrieved sperm.
I had one nurse telling me my next step was to have one test runner and another telling me I wouldn’t be ready to continue until something (I honestly don’t remember what she said) had been done.
Dr. Honea is warm, smart and leaves no stone unturned to help families achieve their dreams of a family. She personally called me numerous times when there were setbacks to discuss changes in my treatment plan.... My biggest hurdle was getting my uterine lining thick enough in order to transfer my frozen embryos. So for six months we tried different dosage of medicines and shots to achieve this. While it was a difficult process Dr. Honea assured me we would get there it would just take time to find out what dosage of medicine my body needed in order to produce a thick lining. And of course, a thick lining is essential to have for successful embryo transfer.
The only drawback I can think of is the Huntsville office only offers a satellite office meaning the doctors are only on site by appointment a few times a month. So, if you want an appointment you will have to drive to Birmingham to see them. But weekly appointments can all be done in Huntsville. All retrieval’s and egg transfers also must be done in Birmingham. This is why I initially chose a different clinic and boy did I make the wrong choice. The drive I made a few times was a small price to pay for the care I received.

Fortunately my insurance covered a small amount, but we still spent $15k or so between the treatment and medicines.
Describe Kathryn Honea (retired)'s approach to eSET (elective single embryo transfer) vs. multiple embryo transfer at Alabama Fertility Specialists (formerly ART Fertility Program of Alabama).
In my case with my advanced age and the number of years we had been trying Dr. honea said she would transfer 2 embryos at most and that was her suggestion. We fully trusted her.
Dr. Honea is obviously passionate about her patients and genuinely wants to help them reach their goal of parenthood. She spent more than our allotted time with us and listened to all of our concerns and responded to each one. I trust her decision making and plan for us. Regardless of the outcome of our journey I will forever be greatful we landed in her office....Dr. Honea has an actual conversation with my husband and I instead of just talking at us in medical terms. She made us feel like people who were important to her and she took the time to listen to our concerns. We went to her as a second opinion after several failed cycles with a previous doctor and she was willing to try new things and tests that had either been dismissed previously or never mentioned. Can't say enough positive things about Dr. Honea.
Everyone we have encountered at both Birmingham and Huntsville have been nothing short of amazing. They will walk you through the entire process and are always willing to answer any question you may have. Communication is excellent. Describe the protocols Kathryn Honea (retired) used in your cycles at Alabama Fertility Specialists (formerly ART Fertility Program of Alabama) and their degree of success.
We have only completed one cycle but we did 5 days of Letrazole cd 3-7 then 3 planned days of Gonal-F and had to add a day due to slightly less than acceptable response. Cd 11 monitor with preganyl trigger cd 12. Post coital test cd 13 with IUI the next day. Progesterone suppositories day 15 (i think) till negative beta cd 26. The above plan was put in place based on 3 previously failed IUI with just Letrazole to achieve a better response. In those 3 I had only ever had 1 lead follicle that never was larger than 18mm 2 days before IUI. In this one cycle we had 1 over 20, 1 at 18, and 1 at 17 at time of trigger with ultrasound and blood work confirmed ovulation.
Describe your experience with your nurse at Alabama Fertility Specialists (formerly ART Fertility Program of Alabama). (Assigned nurse: Nancy Scott)
Nancy is absolutely amazing. She is serious when she needs to be but lighthearted when the time calls for that as well. She is passionate about her patients. Explains everything in great detail and makes sure you understand the protocol. Mary and Terri are awesome as well and make the entire experience as undaunting as possible.

We had our first visit in the Birmingham office so I'm not sure what initial visits in the satellite offices are like but here is what I will say. Describe the costs associated with your care under Kathryn Honea (retired) at Alabama Fertility Specialists (formerly ART Fertility Program of Alabama).
Each visit was $35 including all monitoring and scan visits. IUI was roughly $400 out of pocket. Meds (letrazole, Gonal-F, preganyl, and progesterone suppositories) were around $150 with insurance and overnight shipping.

Describe the protocols Kathryn Honea (retired) used in your cycles at Alabama Fertility Specialists (formerly ART Fertility Program of Alabama) and their degree of success.
I was on clomid for eight months before seeing her. We did one last challenge then began a stimulation cycle for IVF. I had several mature follicles with clomid, so my risk of multiples was very high though my chance of pregnancy was not improving. I was diagnosed as unexplained infertility so IVF was our best option

Based on my age, number of embryos, and other criteria, I was a candidate for single blastocyst transfer. Dr Honea suggested this as she is a strong proponent of decreasing multiples risk
Dr. Honea has been wonderful for us. Warm bedside manner, knowledgeable, and so very kind. She took the time to really get to know us and spent time praying with us multiple times during our treatments.... Dr. Honea helped us through some of our most difficult decision and days. I always felt she listened to us. When our IVF cycle was unsuccessful, she was heartbroken with and for us. She had guided us through so much and we are forever grateful.
The wonderful nurses and NPs at ART make us feel like family. I enjoy chatting with them during visits and feel like I receive the best possible care.... I like the patient message center as a way to share information because it is hard for me to answer during regular business hours. The nurses and doctors all work very well together to meet your needs. The on-site lab has early hours and is extremely convenient!

Dr. Honey has excellent bedside manner and makes sure you understand every aspect of the infertility process. She shows such caring and support especially during those times I couldn’t help but cry. She has truly been the best physician I have dealt with thus far. Love her and highly recommend!!!... I have done fertility medication and also had a lap procedure to try and open everything up but it did not work so IVF is the only option for more.
The only thing I can say about the whole staff [at ART Fertility Program of AL- Birmingham] is they are all amazing and so caring!...
