[Dr. Blauer] answered all my questions and when he didn’t have an answer he would research one until he could answer it...always included me in treatment options...made suggestions in places I wasn’t aware of options and when I brought options to the table he looked into them for me...I would like if he was more of a risk taker to push the envelope and not play it so safe all the time... I had a lot of complications after egg retrieval and he was in contact with me personally for several weeks during recovery.
[Reproductive Care Center] made me feel welcomed, loved, and at home...If there was ever a billing issue it was corrected promptly...always accommodated my travel schedule...when I needed an unexpected surgery, the nursing team and anesthesiologists went out of their way along with Dr Blauer to get me in before the clinic opened the next morning. It saved me another wasted cycle and several hundred dollars in travel expenses...know me when I call in to the front desk, and they make me feel less crazy in a very crazy making journey.
How was your experience with Keith Blauer at Reproductive Care Center (Boston IVF Network Clinic)?
He was the first Dr to ever listen to my concerns. He answered all my questions and when he didn’t have an answer he would research one until he could answer it. He always included me in treatment options and pros and cons. He made suggestions in places I wasn’t aware of options and when I brought options to the table he looked into them for me. I really appreciated how he has handled me for the most part. I would like if he was more of a risk taker to push the envelope and not play it so safe all the time. Sometimes he is a little boxed into his ways. BUT, open to hearing and discovering other options.
What's one piece of advice would you give a prospective patient of Keith Blauer at Reproductive Care Center (Boston IVF Network Clinic)?
If you like direct conversation, tell him that. Otherwise he can be more delicate than I prefer to communicate.
During treatment, were you treated like a number or a human with Keith Blauer at Reproductive Care Center (Boston IVF Network Clinic)?
He has been very personal in a professional way. I had a lot of complications after egg retrieval and he was in contact with me personally for several weeks during recovery. He’s very personable.
Describe the protocols Keith Blauer used in your cycles at Reproductive Care Center (Boston IVF Network Clinic) and their degree of success.
2 IUI’s we did 50mg clomid Cd 3-7, monitored with blood and ultrasounds. Triggered with 10,000iu of pregnyl. Did IUI 48 hrs after trigger. Had 2 follicles. Negative pregnancy test. 1 IUI we did all of the above but added gonal-f, I don’t remember the amount. Had 4 follicles. Negative pregnancy test. 1 medicated timed intercourse at home round, used femera, don’t recall the dosage, had massive allergic reaction and a negative pregnancy test. IVF round, I don’t honestly remember the whole protocol. It was adjusted several times over the course of cycle. I used: gonal-f along with cetrotide, pregnyl to trigger. I had 20 eggs, 19 mature, 6 fertilized, 3 made it to blast, 1 pgs normal. Awaiting transfer after clinic reopens after virus outbreak. I ended up with abdominal bleeding after egg retrieval, very rare. Dr Blauer said he’s never seen that in 35years of practice. I had multiple complications post laparoscopic surgery (not performed by Dr Blauer) and ended up hospitalized for 14 days, almost died and has taken over 6 months to recover. I had one more polyp surgery to go after I was off blood thinners from pulmonary embolism. Did that in February, March we did ERA and BCL6 testing. Then the world hit pause so my April transfer was canceled. Therefore...... Because we didn’t want to sit around wasting more time we opted to do another at home medicated cycle with timed intercourse. We used 100mg clomid cd 3-7, and 200mg prometrium vaginally twice a day 2dpo until hcg test confirms or denies pregnancy. 7dpo now. Unknown outcome. Although we know it would be an act of God for us to conceive without IVF. We still had to try. After 20+ years ttc, 11 losses, we just can’t give up hope on having a family.
Describe your experience with the nursing staff at Reproductive Care Center (Boston IVF Network Clinic).
I know my case was different because I’m out of state. So I did feel like I had to stay on top of things more than I thought I would. That said, I really don’t have any Major complaints. I always heard back in a timely manner. Email was always the most efficient.
Describe your experience with Reproductive Care Center (Boston IVF Network Clinic).
The clinic staff was amazing. I cannot day enough to compliment the support staff. They made me feel welcomed, loved, and at home. I don’t have any complaints about the clinic. If there was ever a billing issue it was corrected promptly. They always accommodated my travel schedule. And when I needed an unexpected surgery, the nursing team and anesthesiologists went out of their way along with Dr Blauer to get me in before the clinic opened the next morning. It saved me another wasted cycle and several hundred dollars in travel expenses. They all have been wonderful. They know me when I call in to the front desk, and they make me feel less crazy in a very crazy making journey.
Describe the costs associated with your care under Keith Blauer at Reproductive Care Center (Boston IVF Network Clinic).
Well we second mortgaged our home if that tells you anything! From what I could see his prices were competitive. Unfortunately infertility is very expensive. After everything I’ve been through, I would do another ivf round with Dr Blauer if I could afford it. Or at least adopt an embryo. My heart aches for a family.
Describe Keith Blauer's approach to eSET (elective single embryo transfer) vs. multiple embryo transfer at Reproductive Care Center (Boston IVF Network Clinic).
I really wanted to transfer 2, but he follows the ASRM guidelines very strictly. Since we did pgs testing he would only do one embryo at a time and that’s all we got anyway. I was very disappointed that I couldn’t choose to have 2 transferred because of guidelines. I did my best to argue. I lost.
What specific things went wrong at Reproductive Care Center (Boston IVF Network Clinic)?
  • Failed to consider drug intolerance
Describe the specific things that went wrong at Reproductive Care Center (Boston IVF Network Clinic).
A couple of times offered femera because it has less side effects than clomid but forgot that I had an allergic reaction. I was one time scheduled with a nurse for my IUI procedure, learning at the time that was “normal”. When I explained why that would not work for me she went and talked to Dr Blauer. He came in and apologized for the scheduling mistake, let me know that someone missed the note that he would be doing my IUI procedures due to a complicated cervix. He did the procedure and all was well. No harm no foul. The only other thing I would add here is that none of the staff is really up to snuff on herbal or natural supplements to help with infertility. I was taking one particular product through all my treatments including ivf and found out after I nearly died, by my own research, that this product acted like a blood thinner and should be stopped 2 days prior to any surgery. I was pretty disappointed since they had a full list of everything I took. And ok’d everything.

Dr. Baluer is very knowledgeable and wants to see success in each of his patients. He is on the safe side of things, which was good in my case when it came to an egg retrieval. I could have overstimulated really bad, but with my high levels of Estradiol and really high follicle count [he] decided it would be best to not do a fresh transfer and trigger with Lupron instead of HCG...
The nurses staff [of Reproductive Care Center] was very nice, personable, sympathetic, caring, and sensitive. They were very good at answering questions that I had regarding what treatment I was undergoing. However, I did feel like a number because I have "unexplained Infertility" so "let's do IVF"...they go off the national chart this clinic does not allow me to do a multiple embryo transfer until we've had at least 2 failed transfers. This is because I'm healthy, young, and have good quality embryos.
How was your experience with Keith Blauer at Reproductive Care Center (Boston IVF Network Clinic)?
I think Dr. Baluer is very knowledgeable and wants to see success in each of his patients. He is on the safe side of things, which was good in my case when it came to an egg retrieval. I could have overstimulated really bad, but with my high levels of Estradiol and really high follicle count Dr. Blauer decided it would be best to not do a fresh transfer and trigger with Lupron instead of HCG. I know that was a good choice because even with those precautions taken I was in a lot of pain after my egg retrieval in which they retrieved 27 eggs. There is a downfall to his conservative ways: My husband got an 8% Kruger score so he wanted to do ICSI on all eggs. I thought it was a little extreme because 8% is considered normal for a lot of clinics and on the fence for Dr. Blauer. I also don't like that Dr. Blauer doesn't think that other things will work if it hasn't been proved by a study. For Example: I wanted to do Neupogen with our FET, he would do it for us but says that it doesn't make a difference, there is no evidence that it does, and that it's superstition. I think it's worth trying different things, especially after a failed FET where I'm healthy and I had about the healthiest embryo that you can get. He just wants to try and FET again without doing anything different, and I don't like that approach. I want to try and figure out why it didn't work, and do something a little different because I believe that every body is different. I would like Dr. Blauer to monitor my hormone levels more closely and adjust my meds appropriately.
What's one piece of advice would you give a prospective patient of Keith Blauer at Reproductive Care Center (Boston IVF Network Clinic)?
Make sure you ask him to slow down and explain in Layman's Terms.
During treatment, were you treated like a number or a human with Keith Blauer at Reproductive Care Center (Boston IVF Network Clinic)?
The nurses staff was very nice, personable, sympathetic, caring, and sensitive. They were very good at answering questions that I had regarding what treatment I was undergoing. However, I did feel like a number because I have "unexplained Infertility" so "let's do IVF". I didn't like that I got the same treatment as every other person that goes in, as far as medication dosage was concerned. I feel like they could have monitored me better during an FET and adjust the amount of hormones I was taking.
Describe the protocols Keith Blauer used in your cycles at Reproductive Care Center (Boston IVF Network Clinic) and their degree of success.
I had an antagonist protocol for my egg retrieval. To start, I took a birth control pill to manipulate my cycle. 1 week after going off the pill I started my stimulation meds: 300 units of Gonal-F and 50 units of Low Dose HCG daily (two shots in the stomach). At this point I was getting an Ultrasound and blood draw taken every other day. A couple of days into the stimulation meds I reduced my Gonal-F to 225 untis because my ovaries were responding really well. 6 Days later I started the Antagonist Cetrotide injection daily. We were planning to do a fresh transfer but I was high risk for OHSS so we, Dr. Blauer and my husband and I, decided to do a freeze all (so glad we did). Since we weren't doing a fresh transfer and I was at risk for OHSS we did a Lupron trigger instead of HCG. The Lupron does was 4 mg (1 shot in the stomach). 2 days before my retrieval Dr. Blauer put me on .5 mg of Cabergoline to help decrease OHSS symptoms. The retrieval went really well. Thursday, the day after the retrieval, we found out that 14 eggs were fertilized. 7 from ICSI and 7 from regular IVF dish (oh, we decided to do a 50/50 split with ICSI). Of the 27 eggs retrieved 22 were mature, 9/13 ICSI and 13/14 IVF. So 7/9 mature ICSI and 7/13 IVF fertilized. Day 3, Saturday, All but 1 embryo was in really good standing and all had 8-10 cells. Day 5, they froze 6 embryos. 5 Good ones, and 1 Day 6, 2 additional ones were Frozen. 1 good and 1 fair. So a TOTAL OF 8 Frozen Embryos. The remaining 6 will be discarded because they didn’t reach the appropriate grading. I wonder if they are conservative on that end as well. Could they freeze any more even though they have a smaller chance of pregnancy? I bet they would if we didn’t have so many to choose from. Day 5 Chriofreeze: • 4AA Good – ICSI • 3BC Fair – ICSI • 4AA Good – IVF • 4BA Good – IVF • 4BA Good – IVF • 4BA Good – IVF Day 6 Chrio Freeze • 5BA Good –ICSI • 4BC Fair – ICSI I felt great leading up to the retrieval, and really good coming out of it, but a couple of hours later I started feeling tightness in my chest, gained 7 pounds that day, and even passed out a couple of times. The OHSS symptoms did't fully go away until 6 days later. Dr. Blauer comes to his Idaho Falls office every so often so that's where we did the retrieval. Now to the FET: I decided to not take birth control to manipulate my cycle, which would have made it possible to do the transfer in Idaho Falls instead of having to go to Utah, and just did it when my cycle naturally came, which was 1 week after the Egg Retrieval. I didn't like how birth control mad me gain about 1lb/day I took it. The day after I started my cycle Dr. Blauer did an US and Blood Draw to be sure i could start an FET cycle. Everything looked good. I started that day taking 3mg Estradiol twice daily and a low does Aspirin daily. 4 days later I had another blood draw to check Estradiol. 10 days after that I had my final lining check and one last blood draw. Everything looked good, hormone levels were good, and my lining was 8mm. I started progesterone the following day. It was the suppository Crinone 8% once daily until the FET 5 days later. On transfer day I upped the suppository to twice daily while still taking Baby Aspirin, Estradiol, and my Prenatal. I think my body absorbed way too much Progesterone because my back started to hurt a lot and I don't normally have back pain at all. 12 days later I did an HCG blood pregnancy test and it came back negative. Progesterone was at 127, really high. Went off all the meds that day. It was the first time I didn't have to take meds for the past 3 months. We were lucky to be able to go through with the transfer because of all the closures that came a week later due to COVID-19. We will try again when everything gets back to normal.
Describe your experience with the nursing staff at Reproductive Care Center (Boston IVF Network Clinic).
They were all very good. Like I said earlier they were compassionate, kind, sympathetic, and informative. I do wish that they would have listened to me when I told them that I thought my back hurt because of the progesterone but they told me it wasn't "due to anything we're doing, if it continues to bother you we may have to refer you to a regular Dr. or Chiropractor." I wasn't very happy with that.
Describe your experience with Reproductive Care Center (Boston IVF Network Clinic).
I liked the clinic, staff were nice, and timely on returning phone calls. They work well with the OBGYN in Idaho Falls for testing that I get done here while Dr. Blauer isn't in town. I was able to talk to, and ask questions to, the Embryologist in person. I liked being able to do that. I love that they have an office that Dr. Blauer comes to in Idaho Falls so I don't have to go down to Utah for everything that I get done. I do love that they communicate and work with OBGYNs here so well because I felt confident that ultrasounds and blood work that I did here in town were going to get sent to Dr. Blauer in a timely manner.
Describe the costs associated with your care under Keith Blauer at Reproductive Care Center (Boston IVF Network Clinic).
I don't remember Specific Costs. I think doing a Retrieval and Fresh Transfer was going to be around $10,000 If self pay. If you have insurance that covers it, it will be billed much different.

Dr. Blauer would only transfer 1 embryo for me for my first fresh and first frozen, but said after that he would maybe consider 2...He was present for monitoring, retrieval and transfers...When it failed twice I had no explanations as to why and he neglected to reach out or even try to help me find a different answer or protocol...On the day of transfer he showed us 1 embryo and I said no I wanted two. He said he refused to do two and never told me until THE DAY OF TRANSFER.
I loved that they [Reproductive Care Center] had a schedule and breakdown of important dates and procedures. I was very upset about the miscommunication of 2 embryos vs 1. There seemed to be a big disconnect in between the staff and Dr. Blauer. I had talked to probably 3 or 4 different people to confirm I was transferring 2 before the morning of transfer. I also don't like that if you switch to another doctor in the clinic they will base all of their decisions off your previous doctor and basically are all on each others team and maybe not the patients. If you want a second opinion don't go to another doctor at the same clinic, that was at least my situation.
How was your experience with Keith Blauer at Reproductive Care Center (Boston IVF Network Clinic)?
In the beginning Dr. Blauer seemed to care and wanted to help, he also seemed very confident with our chances to start off. During stims and monitoring he never really gave a lot of insight to how we were doing and what he expected. I felt like he just felt BLAH about how we were doing. Out of sight and out of mind as a patient. I was also really upset about the lack of communication. We wanted 2 embryos the second go round and I talked with everyone at the clinic several times to make sure this was in place. On the day of transfer he showed us 1 embryo and I said no I wanted two. He said he refused to do two and never told me until THE DAY OF TRANSFER. I was emotionally distraught to say the least. After our second failure I wanted answers. He never reached out and didn't seem to care at all about changing the protocol or helping me. I had to speak with his nurse about my frustrations and he responded to those concerns with "notes in my chart" for if I called again.
What's one piece of advice would you give a prospective patient of Keith Blauer at Reproductive Care Center (Boston IVF Network Clinic)?
Ask as many questions as you can! Ask why he is doing what he is doing, ask what follow up you can expect and try and schedule a plan before every big procedure.
During treatment, were you treated like a number or a human with Keith Blauer at Reproductive Care Center (Boston IVF Network Clinic)?
Dr. Blauer was not very personable and did not go into depth about many of the procedures. I felt I was going in blind, even after doing a lot of research before hand. He was present for monitoring, retrieval and transfers. I was an out of state patient and it was very difficult for me to feel like I was a priority at the clinic. When it failed twice I had no explanations as to why and he neglected to reach out or even try to help me find a different answer or protocol.
Describe the protocols Keith Blauer used in your cycles at Reproductive Care Center (Boston IVF Network Clinic) and their degree of success.
Dr. Blauer is very conservative with medication to avoid OHSS, especially in someone my age. I was on fairly low doses of menopur and gonal f for egg retrieval and began suppositories of progesterone in preparation or my fresh transfer. For my frozen I was on estradiol, baby aspirin, and PIO injections. I responded very well to everything I had plenty of follicles and produced 17 eggs. For my frozen it was postponed a month because I responded too well to the estradiol.
Describe your experience with your nurse at Reproductive Care Center (Boston IVF Network Clinic). (Assigned nurse: Chanise )
I loved Chanise!!! She would always call me back, answer my questions, and address all of my concerns. I truly felt that she cared. During my transfers I was in a lot of pain and she would try and distract me and would make jokes and helped me really relax. SHE IS THE BOMB!
Describe your experience with Reproductive Care Center (Boston IVF Network Clinic).
The clinics nursing staff is awesome I loved pretty much everyone that I worked with. The billing department lady was sometimes rude, especially at the beginning when I was clueless with how everything worked. I loved that they had a schedule and breakdown of important dates and procedures. I was very upset about the miscommunication of 2 embryos vs 1. There seemed to be a big disconnect in between the staff and Dr. Blauer. I had talked to probably 3 or 4 different people to confirm I was transferring 2 before the morning of transfer. Describe the costs associated with your care under Keith Blauer at Reproductive Care Center (Boston IVF Network Clinic).
We had partial insurance coverage, the total bill was about 35,000 with meds for retrieval and fresh cycle. Frozen was about another 5,000

My embryo transfer miscommunication was very frustrating. I also had to call them a few times when they were supposed to call me to let me know about medication changes and protocols. One of those calls was about not even having nearly enough medicine to finish my retrieval and having to order more ASAP.

My experience as a patient is when I first met Dr Blauer he was very welcoming along with the explanation of each appointment and what would happen next. I also appreciated all the time and care that went into making sure I had the best care possible...we discovered that I had uterine fibroids but at first he wasn’t worried and we were going to move on with the Clomid challenge. I wasn’t able to finish that cycle with clomid because of the side affects...We were able to come to a understanding that we needed to remove the fibroids in order to have a successful pregnancy
I was very impressed with the clinic [at Reproductive Care Center]. It’s very nice clinic. They help right away if they are available and are quick to answer any questions about the procedure being performed at that appointment. I will also add if they don’t have a answer they will do their best to find out and let you know...Every time I had to come in for an appointment, the nurses we always so welcome and friendly.

When I started to see Dr Blauer we discovered that I had uterine fibroids but at first he wasn’t worried and we were going to move on with the Clomid challenge. I wasn’t able to finish that cycle with clomid because of the side affects it made me super dizzy, I was unable to work the whole next day. After our first visit, we never said Dr. Blauer again until maybe 3 months of going into the clinic. After which the main care was with the nurses...As we got closer to IVF, after 3 failed attempts of IUI, we started seeing Dr. Blauer more frequently. His bedside manner was great. He always let us ask questions during the examination. Took the time to answer all of our questions and informed us of the possible scenarios and outcomes. Gave his recommendation and ultimately left the decision up to us...
One area the clinic [Reproductive Care Center] can improve on is the insurance billing department...There was several times they sent multiple claim charges for the same service which delayed my insurance paying. There was several times we overpaid and then the move was reimbursed only to be told months later we still owed money...Heather is an amazing nurse. She did the majority of our monitoring and called us with the results most of the time. She is so patient and caring and compassionate with her care...
How was your experience with Keith Blauer at Reproductive Care Center (Boston IVF Network Clinic)?
As we got closer to IVF, after 3 failed attempts of IUI, we started seeing Dr. Blauer more frequently. His bedside manner was great. He always let us ask questions during the examination. Took the time to answer all of our questions and informed us of the possible scenarios and outcomes. Gave his recommendation and ultimately left the decision up to us. Wish we could have seen him more often during the beginning of our treatments.
What's one piece of advice would you give a prospective patient of Keith Blauer at Reproductive Care Center (Boston IVF Network Clinic)?
Take full advantage of the time you have infront of Dr. Blauer. Ask loads of questions and follow up when need be. Go in with a plan; he will listen to it and consult with you on how to perfect the plan.
During treatment, were you treated like a number or a human with Keith Blauer at Reproductive Care Center (Boston IVF Network Clinic)?
In the initial consolation, Dr. Blauer really listened to us and didn't make us feel like any other person. He listened to our goals and gave us multiple options rather than jumping straight to IVF. After our first visit, we never said Dr. Blauer again until maybe 3 months of going into the clinic. After which the main care was with the nurses. The only time I received a visit from Dr. Blauer was when he was updating his chart notes and he'd come in real quick to verify the chart notes. He never preformed any of the IUI's or called us with our results. Seemed a bit impersonal after the first visit.
Describe the protocols Keith Blauer used in your cycles at Reproductive Care Center (Boston IVF Network Clinic) and their degree of success.
For the first cycle we where with Dr. Blauer we did timed intercourse using Letrozole. It resulted in a negative HCG. We moved on to do 3 IUI's and all resulted in a negative HCG. From the very beginning, Dr. Blauer told us not to have much hope for IUI but still went on and did 3 because it was required of the insurance to cover IVF. While we where going through the motions of doing IUI, it seemed like because he didn't expect IUI to work, the care and follow ups were very non-existent. The amount of care was completed different from when we did IVF. We used Gonal-F on 2 of the IUI's to obtain mature follicles. It took Dr. Blauer a while to determine what the correct dosage was for my follicles to respond to Gonal-F. Fast forward to IVF, Dr. Blauer was alot more present during our visits and scans. He preformed our first transfer and it resulted in a negative HCG. Dr. Mass preformed our second transfer and it resulted in our current pregnancy.
Describe your experience with your nurse at Reproductive Care Center (Boston IVF Network Clinic). (Assigned nurse: Heather )
Heather is an amazing nurse. She did the majority of our monitoring and called us with the results most of the time. She is so patient and caring and compassionate with her care. She takes the time to listen to all the worries and concerns. She helped us several times with making sure we found the most affordable option for our meds. Always positive and with a happy smile.
Describe your experience with Reproductive Care Center (Boston IVF Network Clinic).
While my primary care was with Dr. Blauer, I wish the care would have been with Dr. Mass. She did our 2nd transfer which resulted in our current pregnancy. She was extremely delicate during the transfer which made it easy to relax and not tense up during the transfer. One area the clinic can improve on is the insurance billing department. My insurance covers IVF and IUI with certain requirements. Having worked in insurance billing before, I can confirm the insurance department is extremely unorganized and some of the staff is unexperienced with insurance billing. There was several times they sent multiple claim charges for the same service which delayed my insurance paying. There was several times we overpaid and then the move was reimbursed only to be told months later we still owed money. The only person who had control of the insurance claims was Paula, but she's retired. Per my insurance I had 2 opportunities to do a transfer. The transfers had to be done 4 months from the retrieval. The insurance team missed that in my authorization form. Thanks to Paula for reviewing my file, she caught it in time and we where able to do a second transfer that my insurance covered.
Describe the costs associated with your care under Keith Blauer at Reproductive Care Center (Boston IVF Network Clinic).
Total amount we paid with insurance was about 5-6k. Had we not used insurance we where given a quote of 15-17k
Describe Keith Blauer's approach to eSET (elective single embryo transfer) vs. multiple embryo transfer at Reproductive Care Center (Boston IVF Network Clinic).
We did not test our embryos and wanted to transfer 2. Dr. Blauer would not let us even though we had informed him from the beginning that was our intention. We where only allow to transfer 1.

Insurance department caused alot of confusion with my insurance. There are several staff in the insurance department and it seems like no one communicates with each other. I've had 3 people call me about the same issue with my insurance all 3 telling me 3 different things. One claiming I owed, another claiming I over paid and the clinic owed me and then a third telling my my insurance claim was filled out incorrectly so we couldn't move forward until the insurance got back to the on the claim. Poor management in the insurance department. Again, only person who knew what she was doing was Paula and she retired.

Dr. Blauer is extremely thorough. He gives all of the numbers and percentages of how likely things are to work. I like that he is also thorough in his testing. He’s considerate of cost and not pushy in any way. He is also kind, compassionate, and gets to know you as a patient. We only met with him for consultations but he is very willing to set up extra consultations and discuss more options or elaborate on the plan.
The clinic [at Reproductive Care Center] is great! Dr. Blauer is not regularly in the Clearfield clinic, so your main interaction with him will be in the consultations. We did ours over zoom. The Clearfield location is nice because it’s smaller and usually less busy. They are pretty quick to get you in to your appointments, and the nurses are good to call back in a timely manner. I love being able to text the nurses over the secure line.

Something that helped us was to read “It Starts with the egg” and understand more about how fertility medications, supplements, and procedures work. We were very knowledgeable going into our appointment. I’m sure he would explain everything great if you have questions. It just helped us to understand what we were getting into. It helped us to know what questions to ask and streamline the process

Dr. Blauer spent a lot of time getting to know us in our consultation. E spent about an hour with us. He was very personable and kind. Everyone we interact with at the clinics from the receptionists to the nurses are very kind.

We had to have my husband have a vericocele surgery to improve sperm motility and count. My egg quality was checked and found to be poor. We had a 10% chance of IUI working and 30% chance of IVF working. We did a clomid challenge test first just to check numbers. I didn’t like the way clomid made me feel so Dr. Blauer had me take Femara when we did our IUI. He also recommended a few supplements and the shots for IUI. On our own accord we took the supplements recommended in the book It Starts with the Egg. We discussed them with Dr. Blauer and he gave us the research on them.
Describe your experience with the nursing staff at Reproductive Care Center (Boston IVF Network Clinic).
Every nurse has different strengths. Some are very strong in knowledge and communicating thoroughly and others are stronger in compassion, but I would say all of the nurses we met with were great. I never felt like we worked with anyone who didn’t show compassion or knowledge and thoroughness.

Dr. Blauer had good bedside manner and I didn’t feel as though I was just a number when I had my consultation with him. However, after my initial appointment I felt as though I was just a number and no one really remembered or understood my case...I was prescribed several lab tests and had them done. After several weeks with no results, and several phone calls to the clinic with no progress, I finally received word that the labs had never been processed.
The nurse at the Idaho [RRC] clinic I visit was helpful overall, but very aloof. She overwhelmed me with several prescriptions and timelines with little explanation. She used many acronyms that I was unfamiliar with and I left the appointment feeling uncomfortable with the plan moving forward. The nursing staff I have worked with over the phone have unfortunately not been helpful. I had two sets of lab results that were “lost”, which is quite frustrating. I believe that one of the major issues is a disconnect between the various offices.
How was your experience with Keith Blauer at Reproductive Care Center (Boston IVF Network Clinic)?
Dr. Blauer seemed very compassionate and hopeful. He was thorough with my medical records and history since he was my second doctor but first specialist. He didn’t rush through my appointment which was appreciated.
What's one piece of advice would you give a prospective patient of Keith Blauer at Reproductive Care Center (Boston IVF Network Clinic)?
Ask a lot of questions. He doesn’t seem to provide overly detailed information unless you ask for it. There is so much to take in and keep straight and questions are crucial.

I was started on Femara and Metformin and had the ovulation assessment report done. They also ordered several blood tests to evaluate thyroid function, A1C, and progesterone levels. So far, no pregnancy has resulted.

Describe your experience with Reproductive Care Center (Boston IVF Network Clinic).
If someone is a patient at the Sandy or Clearfield clinic, I’m sure they would have a more positive experience than I have. Due to visiting the Idaho Falls clinic, the staff is only present for 2 weeks per month. If any treatments are necessary or questions arise outside of that window, we are directed to speak to someone in the Sandy office, where I unfortunately turn into a number. Prior to relocating for my husband’s employment, our previous clinic was very willing to do monthly follicle checks and reviewed our treatment plan regularly, but I unfortunately don’t feel as though this clinic has the same level of personal care. I do feel like “just a number” with the clinic as a whole. We are currently searching for a new clinic after 6 months with this clinic and no updated treatment plan.
Describe the costs associated with your care under Keith Blauer at Reproductive Care Center (Boston IVF Network Clinic).
Unfortunately the costs associated with Dr. Blauers office was an average of three-times as much as my previous clinic. For example, a uterine ultrasound at my previous clinic was $75, whereas it was $300+ at Dr. Blauers. A number of injections were at least double if purchased through Dr. Blauers office in comparison to my previous clinic.

Describe the specific things that went wrong at Reproductive Care Center (Boston IVF Network Clinic).
I was prescribed several lab tests and had them done. After several weeks with no results, and several phone calls to the clinic with no progress, I finally received word that the labs had never been processed. I understand that mistakes happen and went in to have the labs done again. Once again, several weeks passed and I discovered that they had again not processed the labs. At this point, the COVID-19 pandemic had caused changes in procedures and I have been unable to get the labs done again. It is extremely frustrating to follow a plan to a ‘t’ only to be let down by staff who was irresponsible. Additionally, I have called for follow up appointments for something such as a day 12 follicle check, and was treated as though it was a bizarre idea to have that done. My previous clinic utilized a day 13 ultrasound as a basic part of my treatment plan so they could be as thorough as possible. Additionally, we made an appointment for our second round of IUI but I had several questions that were not being answered. In the days leading up to ovulation, I had some irregularities but did not feel as though it were enough to cancel the IUI. Upon speaking to a member of the nursing staff, we felt very discouraged about proceeding with the IUI, so we cancelled the appointment. After speaking to another professional, it is clear that we should have proceeded with the IUI. Unfortunately, COVID-19 has put a halt to our in-office treatments. Finally, the prices being charged for various services are astronomically higher than my previous clinic.

I started seeing Dr. Blauer later in my IVF cycles. My first retrieval I ended up with 9 embryos. After my 9th embryo resulted in another Chemical Pregnancy Dr. Blauer recommended that I do Hysteroscopy Polypectomy. We did this before my second retrieval. He found chronic endometritis and a polyp that he removed. I went on antibiotics for 2 weeks and just had my second retrieval. I just had my 2nd fresh transfer and it resulted in another chemical pregnancy. We have a phone visit set for this monday to go over what our next step is when RCC can reopen safely due to the Covid outbreak.

since I have started seeing Dr. Blauer I feel like he understands my situation and is willing to listen to all of my concerns and do any tests I want done...[he]will only transfer one unless you are over 35 or have had multiple failed transfers. No exceptions...I did a medicated IUI with injections which was unsuccessful. I then did an egg retrieval with max dose of meds because I am a slow responder to the meds

Dr Blauer is a very patient and understanding doctor. I can tell that he is truly passionate about what he does and he stays up on the research to be able to give me the best medical advice he can. I did a medicated IUI with injections which was unsuccessful. I then did an egg retrieval with max dose of meds because I am a slow responder to the meds. Unsuccessful
After a successful cycle resulting in a missed miscarriage, when I had a follow up scan with Dr. Blauer, he just went through all the questions and paperwork like I wasnt sitting on the table balling. Knowing I'd be seeing an empty womb when just weeks before we went to hear our baby's heartbeat. My husband was furious and we dread having to see the doctor instead of our nursing team...he has also cancelled 2 cycles and put me on birth control for a month... which we're obviously more eager to conceive now than before. We were diagnosed with unexplained infertility, so the fact weve had a successful cycle with IUI, it's hard to say let's move to IVF. But he's already dropped that hint to us as well while cancelling a cycle. It's been a hard year with Dr. Blauer to say the very least Certainly not the bedside manner the doctor we originally started working with at the clinic had. Not impressed. And currently talking with other clinics about future treatments!
We love the nursing staff at RCC. So understanding and will answer any questions I have. They are rooting for us at every appointment...IUI used to cost $850 (billed to insurance cost) but went up to $892 at the beginning of 2020. I believe out of pocket cost for IUI was around $510 before the cost increase this year. Every follicle scan is billed to my insurance at a completely different cost so not even sure where to start on that. Usually just pay my copay then at my next appointment pay the balance on my account that truly cant really even be explained in detail to me

For all my injection cycles, I have done Femara 7.5 days 3-7 and Gonal-f 115 units 7, 9, 11 then trigger. I always have 3 mature follicles over 18mm, then a few right behind. And had a successful cycle with this dosage. In January, I had my first follicle scan with Dr. Blauer and not our nursing team. He counted my 3 follicles over 18mm, then also my 2 or 3 under 15mm... which put me in a position of him cancelling my cycle that month. I am still livid about it because the nurses have never counted those smaller ones nor had I had a cancelled cycle till seeing him. My next cycle they lowered my Femara to 5mg and Gonal-f to 75 units which I had 2 follicles, but have been unsuccessful with the lower dosage.
Describe your experience with the nursing staff at Reproductive Care Center (Boston IVF Network Clinic).
We love the nursing staff at RCC. So understanding and will answer any questions I have. They are rooting for us at every appointment
Describe your experience with Reproductive Care Center (Boston IVF Network Clinic).
I have now run into my insurance not covering 2 of my IUI's due to something that was missed in the "preapproval" stage. And they wont backdate the forms submitted after the procedure so we have been paying significantly of pocket on things we shouldnt have been
Describe the costs associated with your care under Keith Blauer at Reproductive Care Center (Boston IVF Network Clinic).
IUI used to cost $850 (billed to insurance cost) but went up to $892 at the beginning of 2020. I believe out of pocket cost for IUI was around $510 before the cost increase this year. Every follicle scan is billed to my insurance at a completely different cost so not even sure where to start on that. Usually just pay my copay then at my next appointment pay the balance on my account that truly cant really even be explained in detail to me
What specific things went wrong at Reproductive Care Center (Boston IVF Network Clinic)?
  • Failed to call in prescriptions to pharmacy
  • Provided conflicting information
Describe the specific things that went wrong at Reproductive Care Center (Boston IVF Network Clinic).
In December my cycle started late so I needed to get my injections ordered before the end of the year and my deductibles started over again. It took me following up 3 or 4 times with different nursing team members to get the doctor to call in to the correct pharmacy. I finally got my injections ordered and billed on the 30th. Nothing like adding some unneeded stress to my cycle, huh?

Our experience with Dr. Blauer was great. It was our first time ever seeing a fertility specialist and he made us feel comforted from the very beginning. He took the time to explain all of the different routes we could take with fertility treatments. ... Because I have recurrent pregnancy loss, my doctor and I both felt that transferring one embryo would be the best and safest choice for my embryo and myself.
As you walk in, the staff [at Reproductive Care Center] greets you with a smile and the waiting room in very pleasant to be in. I really appreciate that they ask that you don’t bring children to be mindful and sensitive to those who are there. The clinic is very welcoming and clean. It’s very easy to check in and there’s very little waiting time before they get you back.
How was your experience with Keith Blauer at Reproductive Care Center (Boston IVF Network Clinic)?
Our experience with Dr. Blauer was great. It was our first time ever seeing a fertility specialist and he made us feel comforted from the very beginning. He took the time to explain all of the different routes we could take with fertility treatments. And also made a great effort to remember our names and knew exactly why we were there for every appointment we had. Even when we didn’t have great news, Dr Blauer informed us in a very clear, yet caring way. I would highly recommend him!

He [Dr. Blauer] was great to work with. My husband did have some issues with him. When we did our FET we were hoping to transfer two embryos... Dr Blauer only allowed us to transfer one embryo due to the clinic having issues with insurance companies having them listed as a preferred provider although we were completely self pay, our insurance didn’t even cover our intial diagnosis bloodwork.... For our two IUIs we did Femara, HCG trigger shot, and progesterone
I really enjoyed the staff there [Reproductive Care Center]. They were always very happy to see me and made me feel comfortable. I have a friend who also went to RCC and had a completely different experience. I was always greeted with a smile and a “how are you?” ... They ran things very well. There were only a couple times they called me back before they were ready for me, but the wait was never too long.
How was your experience with Keith Blauer at Reproductive Care Center (Boston IVF Network Clinic)?
He was great to work with. My husband did have some issues with him. When we did our FET we were hoping to transfer two embryos, Dr. Blauer told us we wouldn’t be able to because the clinic might be dropped as a preferred provider for different insurances. We paid for everything out of pocket, our insurance didn’t pay for anything. We didn’t love that but dealt with it.
What's one piece of advice would you give a prospective patient of Keith Blauer at Reproductive Care Center (Boston IVF Network Clinic)?
Be completely open and honest about how you’re feeling with your treatment plan

He was honest about what he thought our chances were.
Describe the protocols Keith Blauer used in your cycles at Reproductive Care Center (Boston IVF Network Clinic) and their degree of success.
For our two IUIs we did Femara, HCG trigger shot, and progesterone along with baseline ultrasounds and follicle scans. I don’t remember the specifics for our FET
Describe your experience with your nurse at Reproductive Care Center (Boston IVF Network Clinic).
They were very nice. They communicated very well with me. When I did my pregnancy test the nurse that called me told me my HCG number, which was very low but a positive, and said “I’m cautiously optimistic for you,” which helped me a lot. She didn’t get my hopes up too high but wasn’t totally bumming out either

He [Dr. Keith Blauer] had me do 4 cycles of clomid and femara on days 3-7 of each cycle with times intercourse from ovulation predictor kits. After 4 cycles without success he suggested moving on to IUI. My husband and I are just saving money to continue with IUI, but in the meantime Dr. Blauer put me on metformin to regulate menstruation/ovulation. I am still taking femara days 3-7 of my cycles.... He seemed very personable and there to help us in a very uncomfortable situation. Nobody wants to have to go to a fertility doctor. So he made it more comfortable to speak about our situation. He sometimes can forget to "dumb things down" so I can understand things though. I would make sure to have plenty of questions to ask so I understood everything.
I think this clinic [RCC-Sandy] is awesome. It is clean, the doctors, nurses, and staff are all so nice and helpful. I don't think they have any weaknesses. I would recommend the entire team and clinic to anyone I know in the same situation.... They were wonderful in helping me feel more at ease with my fertility situation. They definitely made sure I understood the next steps to take in order to get where we wanted to be..... My insurance had a $50 copay for a specialist office. Of course all of the preliminary tests were out of pockets so we have probably spent close to $5000 on those tests.

We have had nothing but amazing experiences with Dr. Blauer. I can't remember a time I have left not knowing what was going on in our cycle, protocol or what to expect next. He anwsers all of our questions in depth, he is very understanding and has the best bedside manner. He has called us to simply check on us after failed FETs. He truly wants his patients to take a baby home!... We had been treated with my regular obgyn and failed 6 IUIS. We knew it was time to see a RE. He gave us the opposite to do one IUI
Easy to communicate with scheduling, nursing teams, payment coordinators, etc. I have been pleased all around with the clinic staff [Reproductive Care Center] and friendliness.... The particular nurse mentioned is amazing at coordinating and communicating most definitely. She is whom I communicate with the most. On our first failed cycle I felt like she lacked a lot of empathy and was put off by that. I do love and amazed by his staff in the Idaho Clinic. They are amazing all around. .

Describe the protocols Keith Blauer used in your cycles at Reproductive Care Center (Boston IVF Network Clinic) and their degree of success.
We had been treated with my regular obgyn and failed 6 IUIS. We knew it was time to see a RE. He gave us the opposite to do one IUI, with days 3-7 at 75mg of Femera, that was a negative pregnancy test. We waited 2 years until we were able to go to IVF. The STIM medications I used for 9 days (Gonal F, Cetrocide, Menopur, baby aspirin, over the counter vitamins) we had an egg retrieval where I was at risk for hyperstimulation and opted to do a freeze all and do a transfer the following month. We are male factor so we did ICSI. Our first transfer failed so we are not trying to get another protocol set for FET 2.

My husband and I received a free cycle through the Footsteps for Fertility Run organization. We revieved a free IVF Cycle and monitoring for no cost. We paid $3800 for medications roughly, $518 for embroyo storage, other minor associated costs. Our first Frozen embryo transfer failed and we preparing for FET 2..

[Dr. Blauer is] very passive and wants you to make decisions even when you’re unsure what the best decision is. He’s quiet and doesn’t go into a lot of detail. I feel like he has his protocol and he just follows it and doesn’t branch out to other options...I had a surgery to remove something from my uterus and when they got in there it was gone but he said he scrapped out some cotton candy looking stuff and sent it to pathology but nobody could ever find those results
I was often forgotten and not notified of results [by staff at Reproductive Care Center]. Path specimens were lost. I was hounded by billing about money when I had already paid...They are terrible at returning phone calls. I felt like all they cared about was money. They made the situation more stressful than it already was. Strengths are that they are open 7 days a week and there is usually always a dr on call. They had meds on hand if you ran out or they didn’t come on time.

We did an HSG which showed blocked tubes. AMH was low also. We started with fumara and that went horribly wrong. I got severe bloody diarrhea and ended up in the hospital with a blocked bowel. But it did help me to find out I had endometriosis and then I had a surgery to remove it. Clomid was next for 3 cycles with IUI. Then we did IVF with gonal f and another one I can’t remember. I did a trigger HCG and after egg retrieval did vaginal progesterone 2 x a day. On frozen cycles we did estodiol. Then after a while if nothing working he added supplement like vit d. Iron. DHEA. Serovital. CoQ10. The last rounds I did I used menopure and another one I can’t remember. He just kept increasing the dose each round of IVF. I was eventually at 700mg.

He [Dr. Blauer] was very truthful and up front. When big decisions were made he was very on point on what exactly will be and needs to be done. Excellent doctor. I would recommend to anyone. Every time I came into an appointment he was so welcoming and asked how I was doing. He got right down to business and got to work figuring out a good path of treatment...He is very knowledgeable.
They [Reproductive Care Center] get everything done and still make us patients feel good and happy. We came up with a game plan [with Dr. Blauer] of how many iuis we would try before moving onto Ivf as an option. We have male factor infertility and have chosen to use donor sperm to try to get pregnant through iui...Some strengths for dr Blauer would be the ability to talk to you kindly but also get the facts across to you, I like that he didn’t mess around with guessing issues but instead ran many tests for us to find out what was wrong.
Both nurses I have seen for iui [at Reproductive Care Center] have been extremely friendly, and put me at ease during the procedures. Both were very thorough and explained everything as they were going...The clinic is clean, staff is friendly. They have multiple doctors and multiple teams of nurses. They will all assist you if you need anything, including doing procedures for you if necessary also. The only confusing thing sometimes can be billing as sometimes they have you pay when there, sometimes they bill you, sometimes it’s at the front desk, sometimes another desk as you are leaving
How was your experience with Keith Blauer at Reproductive Care Center (Boston IVF Network Clinic)?
I have been seeing dr. Blauer for a couple of years now, he has always been friendly and knowledgeable. He ran many tests on both me and my husband to determine what our infertility issues may be, which I thought was very helpful instead of just guessing what issues could be. We came up with a game plan of how many iuis we would try before moving onto Ivf as an option. We have male factor infertility and have chosen to use donor sperm to try to get pregnant through iui. We are currently on our last iui cycle before moving onto Ivf Some strengths for dr Blauer would be the ability to talk to you kindly but also get the facts across to you, I like that he didn’t mess around with guessing issues but instead ran many tests for us to find out what was wrong. One thing people may not know or like is that you don’t always see him every time you go in for treatment depending on what you are going in for, generally you see his nurses if you are having an iui procedure rather than the main doctor, but if he is around you can always speak to him if you have a question. He does travel quite a bit so that could be a negative to someone, but it seems as though his traveling is to infertility conventions held in Europe yearly which could only aid in bettering him as a doctor, even when we was out of town he would schedule a phone meeting with me if I needed to speak to him which was nice that I could still speak to him while he was away Overall I would say my experience with dr Blauer and his team has been great and I would recommend him to a friend that was experiencing infertility. We are currently on our last iui before moving onto Ivf and he has been very supportive on what to expect and our options for the procedure if we do need to move onto it. He has stayed very positive throughout our treatments.
What's one piece of advice would you give a prospective patient of Keith Blauer at Reproductive Care Center (Boston IVF Network Clinic)?
Go in with an open mind to what your treatments may include. Make sure you have a firm understanding of what you are wanting to spend, whether it would be beneficial to do some iuis first or to move directly onto Ivf. Listen to his advice as he knows what he is talking about
During treatment, were you treated like a number or a human with Keith Blauer at Reproductive Care Center (Boston IVF Network Clinic)?
Dr Blauer carefully went over numerous blood tests, and ultrasounds with us to ensure we had an understanding of what our infertility issues were and what options we had as far as fertility treatments. We were able to sit for a few hours with him and ask as many questions as we wanted. We also were able to discuss personal things in our lives like family and trips and such also
Describe the protocols Keith Blauer used in your cycles at Reproductive Care Center (Boston IVF Network Clinic) and their degree of success.
We started off with the lowest dose of clomid to accompany our first couple of iuis, then after not getting pregnant moved onto using femara to see if we got a different result, we have now moved onto femara, gonal-f (450ml) and ultrasounds to check follicle size. We also discussed that for iui using my husbands sperm was not an option and so we needed to use a donor sperm for the procedures. Dr Blauer was very knowledgeable on the different sperm banks across the country and helped guide us to a credible one. All of our procedures so far I would say have gone with protocol as starting out with lower treatment options and moving to more aggressive ones at treatment continued, also the fact that we are only going to try a certain number of iuis before moving onto Ivf

Dr. Blauer was very good to us. He told us stories about his family and really made us feel comfortable. We felt as though he genuinely wanted to know us. He did not just talk to me (the wife) while going through the procedures. He made sure both my husband and I knew what to expect each and every time we walked into the office.... We did a few cycles of IUI with clomid (150 mg). None of which were successful. So we decided to persue IVF. I took Menopur and Gonal-f. Then pregnyl for my trigger shot.
This clinic is awesome. From the moment you walk in the door you feel so welcomed and reassured. Their receptionist gave birth to the first IVF baby in Idaho so she knows exactly what you are going through and was so wonderful to work with. They always made sure we were comfortable — gave us water, a tour of the facility, basically anything we needed.... Our IVF cycle was about $10000 with $4000 in medications and $350 for OHSS insurance.

I believe in this clinic [Reproductive Care Center] with all my heart. Every employee and staff member has treated me with kindness and respect. I can’t think of any weaknesses with the clinic. I genuinely have had nothing but respect shown to me. We miscarried twice and were treated beautifully both times.... Our initial fresh IVF cycle was $14,000. This was for monitoring appointments, egg retrieval, blood draws, ICSI, egg transfer, frozen remaining embryos, and pregnancy test. After our miscarriage our next frozen cycle was $3,800 and that was with a 10% discount for miscarriage.

Dr. Blauer was very open about the risks of multiple embryo transfer, he gave us our odds of success with a single embryo, and explained his reasoning for wanting us to do single. He also explained that he would not stop us from doing multiple. In the end we trusted his judgement, and we did have successful implantation with single embryo.

He [Dr. Keith Blauer] is extremely knowledgeable and explains everything in a way that anyone can understand it. He is very gentle and kind. He has made me feel super important and a priority in his office. His compassion and love for what he does, doesn’t go unnoticed. His bedside manners are very professional and very gentle. Our dreams have become his dream for us. I know he wants to help us achieve this miracle just as much as we want it!
I go to the Idaho Falls office [for Reproductive Care Center]. It has always been very private and safe environment. They have provided information of the process, they have followed up with me on how I am feeling, and with any new information they have for me. Each time I’ve been in I’ve met with Dr Blauer as well as the nurses. Lisa is amazing. She has been the main nurse who has been by my side, along with Dr Blauer, since day one. They are very positive and professional.

I’m in the process of starting my first IVF cycle. We started 5 or 6 weeks ago. We first started with clomid and currently on hgh supplements. I will be starting injections with the start of my next menstrul cycle... expected in about 10 days. Getting anxious!

Dr. Blaur has a very kind approach to treatment. He meets with us as a couple every time we are ready to start a round of fertility cycles and he is familiar with us and our children...Our 9th IUI worked, the first cycle using injections. After that, we opted to do IVF due to limited quantities of sperm and Dr. Blaur was completely supportive. We have never had an IVF cycle not work under his care. Our first IVF cycle resulted in twins, our second in a singleton, our 3rd in a singleton, and I am currently expecting a sixth child from a FET. Dr. Blaur has been involved in every step of building our family.
I would recommend any of the doctors at this clinic [Reproductive Care Center], as we have worked with all of them, Dr. Blaur being the primary doctor and the other following his treatment protocol for us...[the nurses are] Very concise. They call back quickly. Compassionate. They mourn with us and celebrate with us...You pay for a cycle ahead of time and then do the entire cycle without having to pay. Infertility treatments are expensive no matter where you go. The prices at RCC are fair and competitive.
How was your experience with Keith Blauer at Reproductive Care Center (Boston IVF Network Clinic)?
Dr. Blaur is an excellent doctor. He genuinely loves what he does and has a true compassion for couples who desire to have children and have trouble doing so. He is a very knowledgeable doctor with a lot of experience. He also keeps up with the latest reproductive technology and takes advantage of any science that could help his patients conceive.
What's one piece of advice would you give a prospective patient of Keith Blauer at Reproductive Care Center (Boston IVF Network Clinic)?
I would say to get an appointment sooner than later. We did not wait one year to see a fertility doctor when we felt strongly we would have troubles conceiving and we are so glad. If there are signs of infertility, call in and get the diagnostics going.

With our first visit, we were immediately referred to a top urologist in the state to get an idea of what type of MFI we were dealing with. Once those tests were completed, Dr. Blaur gave us a very clear picture of what our options were, which were limited, and he also provided some comfort and information about support groups of that was something we were interested in. Since we were struggling with MFI, we started with a couple natural cycles with DS and then progressed from there adding medications. Our 9th IUI worked, the first cycle using injections. The clinic is wonderful to us because they have multiple locations. Dr Blauer is very good at reviewing everything with you carefully and helping you deal with any complications that come up.... He's been a great doctor and has been nice but hasn't sugar coated answers when I needed to know what my chances were. Hes been understanding and helpful when we've had problems getting my husband in with me for appointments.... started using clomid for several months gradually upping the dose.
The costs have always been right around what I was quoted... the only thing I don't like is their website, it's confusing and doesn't have information I need on it. Cant make a payment when your logged in and emailing a nurse usually doesn't get a reply. Otherwise the clinic [Reproductive Care Center] is very nice and clean and inviting and everyone there is very sweet.... I couldn't get a nurse to call me back about a test result for almost a week and a half, I ended up having to make an appointment to get them.

He [Dr. Keith Blauer] tells is how it is as gentle as he can, but he doesn't give false hope. He told us we had a 10-15% chance of getting pregnant with IVF and I am currently expecting. He will go into as much or as little detail about your situation as possible and will do whatever he can to help.... He even called me at night to deliver results or his opinion on the next step for us and helped us get through a miscarriage and a year of treatments. Dr. Blauer is always concerned about my mental and emotional state of mind and would make sure I was absolutely ready before suggesting another treatment.
Their [Reproductive Care Center] IVF bundle packages save you a TON of money. All the staff is really nice and their place is organized and clean. They always have Ellen on or something funny so the wait doesn't seem as bad. They also have an app that you can use to track your appointments and see your blood test results.... Jeanette was the best nurse I could have asked for. She was always there for me and would return my calls as late as 7:30 some nights. She was super happy when telling me I was pregnant for the first time and we are now facebook friends. She was involved in a huge IVF study and had to work on that, so Tracy became my new nurse. She was just as great. She was also undergoing infertility treatments at the same time, so we could talk and tell each other of our experiences. I love the nursing staff there! They are all super nice and understanding.
How was your experience with Keith Blauer at Reproductive Care Center (Boston IVF Network Clinic)?
We got serious about treatment when the RCC was expanding their clinic in Idaho, so he didn't do a lot of my ultrasounds and check ups, but he was there for the important ones. He even called me at night to deliver results or his opinion on the next step for us and helped us get through a miscarriage and a year of treatments. Dr. Blauer is always concerned about my mental and emotional state of mind and would make sure I was absolutely ready before suggesting another treatment.

Dr. Blauer answered all of our questions when we first came in for a consult- and we had a LOT of questions. We talked for at least an hour and he didn't rush us and got to know us personally. He knew I was a special case and gave us the facts, but also gave us hope that we desperately needed. During some visits, we would both show each other pictures of our dogs. I really like Dr. Blauer and recommend him to anyone that needs help.
Describe the protocols Keith Blauer used in your cycles at Reproductive Care Center (Boston IVF Network Clinic) and their degree of success.
Due to my condition, I had to take almost triple the amount of meds a normal IVF patient had to take. My eggs would not react as well. We noticed this trend halfway through my cycle and decided to up the dosage and got much better results. He suggested I take multiple vitamins to preserve egg quality (DHEA, Melatonin, SeroVital, Vitamin D3, CoQ10 and a prenatal for months) We switched from progesterone suppositories to injections because they were cheaper and more convenient for me working full-time.

Describe your experience with Reproductive Care Center (Boston IVF Network Clinic).
I think they are getting busier, which is really good for them. Sometimes the wait is a little long (30 min). Their IVF bundle packages save you a TON of money. All the staff is really nice and their place is organized and clean. They always have Ellen on or something funny so the wait doesn't seem as bad. They also have an app that you can use to track your appointments and see your blood test results.
Describe the costs associated with your care under Keith Blauer at Reproductive Care Center (Boston IVF Network Clinic).
After the IUI's we decided to do a package IVF deal with 2 or 3 cycles if we paid cash up front. We paid about $15k for the dual cycle package and another $4k in medication costs. They even gave us the option to "upgrade" to a 3rd IVF cycle for the package cost. We had to get special permission to get the package deal but it was worth it. They were also offering discounted IVF cycles to couples who qualified (we didn't qualify, but lots others did). Because we had insurance coverage, they were able to get us some money back for the multiple IVF cycle - $12,000, making it a little cheaper to try and have a baby. They were always willing to talk to me about any of my financial questions and their online docusign program is awesome. It saves you a trip from having to go to the clinic in person and sign the papers.
Describe Keith Blauer's approach to eSET (elective single embryo transfer) vs. multiple embryo transfer at Reproductive Care Center (Boston IVF Network Clinic).
Originally we transferred 2 embryos on the first fresh IVF cycle in hopes of getting twins but neither took. The first frozen cycle we transferred 2 as well and one took and resulted in a miscarriage. The last frozen cycle we only did one. Dr. Blauer strongly recommended implanting no more than 2 embryos and I'm glad we did only one the last time.

Dr. Blauer is a very nice man and a knowledgable, experienced doctor. I could definitely tell that he knew what he was talking about. However, he does have a bit of an awkward bedside manner sometimes, as though he is more comfortable with the science than the people. I also felt like there were times he could have prepared better for our appointments because we'd go in for a follow up and spend most of our time reviewing our charts and talking about past treatments rather than focusing on a plan for the next step.
I'd say the best part of this clinic is that they send Doctors to Idaho every month or two for patients there that don't have access to a clinic closer by. In fact, since beginning my journey with reproductive care center they have opened an Idaho office where they do cycles quarterly. I live in Idaho so this is why I decided to work with them. The way the clinic works is that you have a specific Dr. but if they are not all always running cycles.
How was your experience with Keith Blauer at Reproductive Care Center (Boston IVF Network Clinic)?
There was one time where another doctor made a suggestion that Dr. Blauer did not agree with and I chose to follow which seemed to bother him a bit but not enough that things got uncomfortable or caused a problem (in fact it resulted in our live birth!).
What's one piece of advice would you give a prospective patient of Keith Blauer at Reproductive Care Center (Boston IVF Network Clinic)?
My advice would be to make sure you research your options and conditions then come prepared with very specific questions so that you leave understanding exactly where you're at and where you're going. Also, that way if there is any kind of option he may not specifically suggest you can bring it to his attention and work together to decide if its right for you. Also, don't be afraid to make a decision based on what your comfortable with even if it isn't necessarily his top recommendation.
During treatment, were you treated like a number or a human with Keith Blauer at Reproductive Care Center (Boston IVF Network Clinic)?
To Dr. Blaur I felt a little bit more like a number because he often spent our appointment time reviewing charts to remind himself of facts that he had forgotten (something I felt could and maybe should have been done before bringing us into his office). He was more focused of the technical side of things. However, his lead nurse who most of my communication with, very much so treated me as a person and was an absolute angel through the whole process. She was literally constantly available to me for absolutely anything I needed no matter the time of day and her responses were always very quick when I needed information or lab orders. She went so far above and beyond what I would expect that I felt she really was a big reason I was able to cope fairly well through 6 cycles of IVF, 2 miscarriages, and 3 negative pregnancy tests before getting my miracle baby.
Describe the protocols Keith Blauer used in your cycles at Reproductive Care Center (Boston IVF Network Clinic) and their degree of success.
My treatments were pretty standard as far as I am aware. I was put on follistim (because of which insurance I had), low dose HCG(done by the clinic), cetrotide(as a supressor), pregnyl(trigger shot), and endometrin suppositories (progesterone for after transfer) all at typical doses as well. I took the first two every night and then added the third halfway through to help avoid hyperstimulation. The pregnyl was a trigger shot taken once my follicles were ready in order to trigger the release of the eggs. My husband and I would go in before the retrieval to give a seamen sample to so the eggs would be fertilized immediately after with ICSI because of low sperm mobility. Then the embryos were graded on Day three which is when we choose to transfer the first time and continued to do because we left the rest of the embryos until day 5 and for some reason none of them ever made it to that. The only thing that I remember changing from cycle to cycle was some different supplements that were added for various reasons. Its been so long I'm not sure I could keep straight the reasons for each but I took CoQ10 (300 mg twice daily), serovital (4 at bedtime), 2000 units of vitamin d, Metafolin (1mg daily for an MTHFR deficiency found through genetic testing). My baby was a result of my very last FET which was done at the Idaho clinic. Another Dr. did one of my monitoring appointments and suggested letting my uterine lining thicken a little more than Dr. Blauer typically did. We decided to take his advice despite it seeming "unnecessary" and got our daughter! Whether it was because of that or not we'll never know but thats the only thing I remember changing besides small changes in dose based on my blood draw levels. I'm not sure what else would be included as protocols but I hope that was enough details!
Describe your experience with your nurse at Reproductive Care Center (Boston IVF Network Clinic). (Assigned nurse: Jeanetter Rossi)
Jeanette was literally an absolute angel! She is the greatest blessing I could have ever asked for out of a clinic. She constantly went above and beyond the call of duty. She would answer emails or even call me after hours, at home, to answer questions or calm worries. She went out of her way to make things as easy for me as possible and never hesitated to change things to be more convenient for me. I seriously can't possibly say enough good things about this women. I tell anyone who'll listen about how she is the reason I got through 6 cycles of IVF without losing my mind. We were in almost constant communication and I knew she had my back every step of the way. I love her dearly for everything she did for me over the 4 years it took to get my baby!

The way the clinic works is that you have a specific Dr. but if they are not all always running cycles. So if you need a cycle done when your Dr. isn't in charge of the batch you just have monitoring appointments with whoever is there but your Dr. is always the one to review things and make final big decisions and your specific nurse is still the one to communicate results and instructions with you. In fact because of this I think I saw most of the doctors at the clinic at one point or another. I actually liked that fact because then if there was ever a problem with your main Dr. you would at least have an idea of who might want to switch to if the need arose. I was also very pleased with the billing department and how helpful they and the receptionists were. They even were able to suggest a package deal to me that helped stretched my insurance benefits to help me get more for my money, without which I might not have gotten pregnant!

I do not remember specifics because I was incredibly blessed to have great insurance so the costs change based on that

Dr. BLauer is driven by research and statistics. This isn't bad, in fact, it can be very helpful. However, in our situation, none of the 'new' research worked for us. In fact, we got pregnant with another RE by using much less medication and stimulation. DR. Blauer is compassionate and caring and a very good doctor, he just didn't find success with our treatments.
I love everything about the RCC, EXCEPT their billing department. They know absolutely nothing. I'm not exaggerating when I say their billing employees overcharged me THOUSANDS of dollars. It wasn't until many months later that I discovered the mistakes. It took many many hours communicating with them to get it fixed... Their billing department is a joke in my opinion. So many mistakes were made, and even though we had a signed contract that stated exactly what the charges were, they were still overcharging us for appointments and treatments we received.
How was your experience with Keith Blauer at Reproductive Care Center (Boston IVF Network Clinic)?
Dr Blauer is an excellent RE. We felt he was kind to us, compassionate, and caring. He is not the best communicator, meaning that I was left with questions unanswered sometimes, or I didn't understand the way he explained things. While others have had great success with him, we simply had bad luck with all our transfers with him.
What's one piece of advice would you give a prospective patient of Keith Blauer at Reproductive Care Center (Boston IVF Network Clinic)?
Don't be afraid to speak up, ask for clarification, and don't be afraid to suggest alternate courses of treatment for yourself.
During treatment, were you treated like a number or a human with Keith Blauer at Reproductive Care Center (Boston IVF Network Clinic)?
Dr. Blauer relies heavily on statistics and research studies. I felt like I wasn't always thought of as a human because he would suggest care based on what research had shown worked, not necessarily taking into consideration my unique situation

WE were charged for everything. It was very difficult to get the billing department to work with our insurance for things like routine blood draws and ultrasounds.
Describe Keith Blauer's approach to eSET (elective single embryo transfer) vs. multiple embryo transfer at Reproductive Care Center (Boston IVF Network Clinic).
Dr Blauer never fully explained the benefits of only transferring one embryo at a time. I was made to feel that our chances would increase if we transferred 2-3 embryos each time. It wasn't until we switched doctors that we found out our greatest success would be by transferring one embryo only.
What specific things went wrong at Reproductive Care Center (Boston IVF Network Clinic)?
