We will be forever grateful to Dr. Gelman for trusting in my body and giving me and my husband a shot at having a family. At 40 and with a failed IVF cycle from another clinic who kept reminding me of how low my chances of getting pregnant were, finding Dr Gelman was our biggest blessing. His approach is holistic and focuses on mind and body, including balances nutrition, a healthy environment and ensuring your body has all the nutrients and vitamins it needs for a healthy pregnancy. He takes the time to prepare your body and doesn’t rush you to jump into IVF. During our first consultation I was eager to start IVF, and Dr Gelman explained he needed at least three months before going that route. He suggested I took additional supplements beyond the pre-natals, suggested I started following the Mediterranean diet as well as accupuncture, and told me to get rid of all plastics that were not BPA free. During the three months I saw him, he always explained where we were in the process and explained what the plan was. I always knew what was coming. His medical team was always compassionate and caring and every time I went for a visit and saw Belkys I was pumped with good energy and sure everything was going to work for us. Jennifer is also great and was always very responsive. Being able to always work with the same team made a huge difference and made the process so much easier.

Just trust him and follow all his advice. I never thought we could get pregnant without having to go through IVF and Dr. Gelman made it possible at my age (40). We got pregnant before starting IVF and that would have never been possible if we had not trusted Dr G and followed every single piece of advice he gave us.

It started with changing my nutrition— Dr Gelman recommended following the Mediterranean diet and limiting alcohol. He also got me on CQ10 and recommend that my husband also took some supplements. I also continued seeing my Acupuncturist as Dr Gelman encouraged it. He also did three months of estrogen priming. During three cycles I did Femara and IUI in the second cycle. We got pregnant on the third cycle without IUI.

Costs were slightly higher that those from my previous clinic but for me it was well worth it due to the level of professionalism and care. We were evaluating the costs of IVF and those are higher than other clinics as well, and especially the genetics testing and non refundable deposit. We didn’t get to use IVF but we would have done it because we wanted to be under De Gelman’s care.

My partner and I absolutely love Dr. Gelman! He makes us both feel comfortable and welcomed. Being a same sex couple, we were nervous about which fertility clinic to go to and nervous about not being comfortable or accepted. He was 100% the opposite! He absolutely loves us both and calls us “His girls”! We tried at home on our own with donor sperm for a couple month and after 3 failed cycles, we decided to start looking at fertility clinics. We were not sure why home insemination wasn’t working and when we expressed that to him, he made it his goal to help us figure out any issues and help us create our family. We found out shortly after that I have PCOS. After 4 failed IUIs, he suggested that we start considering IVF instead. We told him that IVF was definitely out of our price range since we paid for everything out of pocket. He completely understood and wasn’t pushy about trying to get us to do IVF. Although he wasn’t pushy, he definitely voiced his concerns about trying another IUI, and stated that he feels more confident with us doing IVF. He was very open and honest about our chances and the success rates. We tried another IUI, only because of our financial situation. Unfortunately, that failed as well. Dr. Gelman gave us plenty of resources and information on IVF, as well as the options we have for financing. Before starting IVF Dr. Gelman mentioned that I would be undergoing “Mini IVF” or “Gentle IVF” due to my high Amh and PCOS. He was very open and honest about how this lower dose IVF would produce significantly less follicles than traditional IVF. He also explained that our goal with this would be quality, not quantity. Due to my PCOS and high amh levels, Dr. Gelman put me on a smaller dose of medicine in order to lower my chances of getting OHSS. After my first cycle of stimulation, I only had 2 mature follicles by ovulation day. Dr. Gelman told us that although the mini ivf produces less follicles, he was expecting a little more in order to give us the best chance for success. Ultimately, he advised us to stop taking our medication and expect a period. He upped my dose for our second round and told us that my body would react better and produce more this time around. He told us that it was his fault that my body only produced 2 follicles, because he was nervous to over stimulate me. He told us that we wouldn’t have to pay again for our next cycle since we already paid for the full cycle. We are currently on day 3 of our second cycle and are very excited to see what this time around brings! He has also been AMAZING with communication during this time and we are extremely thankful!

Dr. Gelman is always open and honest and definitely tells you how it is. He won’t give you false hope or false information. Definitely go in there with an open mind and genuinely listen to what he has to say.

During our IUIs, we took Femara also know as Letrozol. For our first IUI, we took one 2.5 milligram pill at bed time for cycle days 3-8. After that was unsuccessful, we upped the dose for the next IUI and took 2 pills. For our third IUI, we took 3 pills and produced 3 large follicles. He was hesitant about us continuing with the IUI because the risk of multiples was high. Two out of the three follicles were mature, and one was a little behind. He monitored us daily and said that if the other follicle matures, he would cancel the IUI and we would reassess the protocol for next cycle. He was nervous about multiples because it is a huge risk for the babies and myself. Our 4/5 IUI we also took 3 pills and he suggest we do an “endometrial scratch” which sounds a lot more terrifying than it actually is! It’s basically a little incision in your uterus that they creat with a catheter in order to help the blood flow and attention to focus on your uterus. It is supposed to improve implantation results. For our first IVF process, he prescribed me to take two, 2.5 milligram pills of Femara for cycle days 2-6. And 75ml of Menopur injections for cycle days 7 and 8. Unfortunately, this was not enough stimulation and we had to cancel the egg retrieval. Currently we are on day 3 of my stimulations preparing for my egg retrieval. We contacted him on day one of my cycle and he advised us to again take two, 2.5mil of Femara starting on day 3 of my cycle. The difference for this cycle is that we are starting the pills and injections at the same time. We only did 2 injections all together last cycle and we have currently already done 3. We go back for our appointment in two days after our 5th day of the pills and injections to see what is happening and what the plan from there is. We are extremely hopeful and excited for the journey ahead.

All of our IUIs were $310 each. This was only for the procedure itself and did not include the appointments needed to check the growth of the follicles. Each ultrasound and blood work appointment was $295. Ultrasound only visits were $195 each. Most of our cost came from purchasing our donor sperm. Each vial of donor sperm was $790. One vial = One insemination. The mini ivf that we are doing cost around $10,000. This includes all of the monitoring appointments, bloodwork, medicine, egg retrieval, and embryo transfer. The only thing that is not included is IF we are unable to do a fresh transfer, we will have to do a frozen transfer. This means we would have to pay $700 for the thawing of our embryo.

Dr. Gelman is very set in the fact that he will only do a single embryo transfer. We discussed with him that we actually want twins and that we would love to have a multiple embryo transfer. He was very open and honest with us about the health risk associated with multiples. He stated that it would not be safe for my small body frame, and that me and the babies would have complications. He doesn’t want to risk my health or the babies. Although we are a little let down that we can’t do two, we completely understand and are thankful that he has our best interest in mind.

I believe some people are here on earth to make a difference in people's lives, Dr Gelman at IVFMD (Cooper City) is one of them. I was with a previous Specialist and had the worst experience of my life. I had a very painful and traumatic HSG. I was told aggressively that if I wanted to get pregnant, I needed 2 different types of surgeries and straight to IVF. I felt defeated, scared and gave me extreme anxieties. I listened to my gut and switched to a different Specialist. I’m so happy I switched to Dr Gelman, I feel extremely fortunate and grateful to have found him. The first day I met him I knew he would be the right Doctor for me. He’s very calm, compassionate, also direct when he needs to. I found him very caring, funny & kind. He listened to all my concerns and anxieties, answered all of our long lists of questions. His positive energy eased all my anxieties. You’re gonna find a response for your fertility issues with him! He will test you in order to find your problem and diagnostic and will recommend you the best to treat your problem.

I’m On BC so far. We are focus to do our egg retrieval ASAP to guarantee some embryos first, after that he will think about what protocol he has to put me on to have a successful pregnancy. He said me something regarding to sleep 💤 my inmune system and give me some blood thinners. But I’m not sure yet.

I've visited with Dr. Gelman for an initial consultation. We discussed my medical history as where I stand today. He did an ultrasound and recommended a nutritionist. It was nice that the clinic had a nutritionist on staff. Dr. Gelman was very knowledgeable, respectful, had great bedside manner

Dr Gelman is a good doctor. Very thorough and knowledgeable. Did a complete set of tests, more than my previous fertility doctor did. He is for an open dialog, doctor to patient. He will tell you his opinion, proposed a treatment and wants your feedback and open dialog to discuss your thoughts, looks for your agreement and acceptance of the plan. He wants to be sure you understand and agree with what will be done.

Do your homework (some reading on the subject) so you can have open discussion with the doctor , ask questions and understand all that's being done. This doctor appreciate your opinion on the subject.

Dr Gelman used a less aggressive stimulation protocol with me due to my age- 41yrs old (less drugs) than my previous doctor and it seems the protocol was better - we got more embryos with his protocol than with my previous doctor. He also insisted on using the genetic testing on the embryos which we did for two cycles, when all results came back bad, he proposed trying transfer without testing embryos. this is what we're doing right now

I believe he follows recommendation by CDC , by age for eSET (for me he agreed to transfer two embryos as Im 41 years old)

Dr. Gelman is clinical enough to give you confidence in your treatment but warm enough to make you feel like a human. He always presented the course of treatment based on evidence and was aggressive with making sure we had the best shot each attempt. He was patient with my barrage of questions and took the time to make me feel confident in our treatments, understand why we were doing things a certain way, and educate me. I left each visit with a solid understanding of why we were doing something.

Ask questions. If there's something you dont understand or want to know more about, ask. He will be patient and take the time educating you and explaining the procedures, risks, options, and recommendations. It never felt like I was bothering him.

I dont remember, we did use menopur and follistim for my egg retrieval. I had 14 eggs retrieved and that led to 6 5-day embryos. We did a fresh cycle and transferred 2 embryos. I got pregnant but had a miscarriage. We did a frozen cycle and transferred 2 embryos and got pregnant with my son. We did a frozen cycle with one embryo transferred and it was negative.

We did a 2 fresh 2 frozen package with ARC fertility and it was around $18,000. I paid my clinic directly for our FET and it was $5,500 without medications. There was a $500 discount for payment with cashier's check.

During my first to ivf cycles we transferred 2 embryos each time. Both times I got pregnant with one baby. The most recent time we transferred only one embryo b/c I had gestational diabetes with my son and dr gelman had concerns should I get pregnant with multiples. That cycle did not work although he indicated the success rate with 1 vs 2 embryos was not significantly different.

We cannot even begin to thank Dr. Gelman and his staff enough. Dr. Gelman is a beyond incredible physician. His professionalism, knowledge, and expertise in the field is unparalleled. We had a very long, emotional and frustrating journey with infertility. Dr. Gelman was the first doctor to provide us with real answers and actually take the time to make sure all of the proper tests were completed and although both my husband and I area relatively healthy, made modifications to our lifestyle with vitamins and diet to only further help. Not only did Dr. Gelman always have the best bedside manner, so did his nurses and staff. I can't say enough about everyone. Aislynn, always made me laugh even when I was so stressed or worried. Her calming demeanor always put my mind at ease, which was so important to me. She is knowledgable and understanding and just the absolute best!! Jen and Belkis, are also angels for putting up with my countless emails and calls. They are so thorough in explaining everything and really were there for me through it all. I grew fond and close to all three of them as well. Thanks to Dr. Gelman and his staff we are expecting our miracle twin boys. After a very long journey, we are forever grateful to him and his staff. I feel so blessed to have found their office and couldn't recommend them enough, especially for how hard and emotional this road can be, you need a team like this by your side to give you answers and get results.

He was able to answer all of my questions and concerns and even fears with me in detail. When I was frustrated with the process, he would take his time, gave recommendations but never forced ideas or suggestions. There are many other doctors that could have milked this situation for money and made me do certain treatments over and over but he was effiecieny and very knowledgeable. I found myself fortunate to have been referred to him. Great sense of humor by the way!

Have your questions ready to go

Initially we weren’t sure what the problem was, everything appeared normal but I wasn’t able to fertilize. We did fertility drugs first and that didn’t work, then tried iui and realised that didn’t work and then we did specific blood tests, and which showed abnormal levels in hormones which gave me an explanation and some closure. So now it was a matter of rectifying. Fortunate enough with his guidance and wisdom I only had to do the transfer once. He recommended a specific biopsy that would indicate exactly when to do the transfer and how much more of a specific hormone I would neeed and initially I did not want to do it because I did not want to delay the process any further. Again, he didn’t force, only suggest but I did not want to risk doing the transfer and something else came up. After doing that test it showed I needed an extra two days of progesterone as compared to an avg person.

I feel Dr Gelman took a personal interest in our case. He never gave up and was always positive yet honest. I felt that Dr Gelman was easy to talk to and always made me and my husband feel comfortable even in difficult situations. He never made us feel rushed. And returned calls promptly.

Keep an open mind.

My first stimulation cycle I used Menapur,Gonal F and cetrotide. I believe they retrieved approximated 10 embryos (?) but only 1 lived to day 5. That transferred embryo did not result in a pregnancy. The 2nd stimulation I used ganirelix, follistim, low dose ovidril, cetrotide and lupron. That resulted in 16 embryos retrieved (?) and 4 made it to day 5. 1 transferred and did not result in a pregnancy. The other 3 were PGS and of those 3, 2 were normal. 1 was abnormal and discarded. Of the 2 remaining. We transferred 1 and that resulted in a pregnancy which I am currently 5 mo pregnant. And the other one is frozen for a future transfer.

Approximately $50,000 total. For stimulations, transfers, testing, IUIs, etc.

I prefer elective single embryo transfer.

I can’t say enough about Dr Gelman at the Cooper City office. My husband and I had been trying to get pregnant for over a year and had a consultation with Dr Gelman where it was painfully obvious that IVF may be our only option. We were concerned about the price and the odds with IVF but I remember Dr Gelman saying “I can get you pregnant” and that’s EXACTLY what he did. We got pregnant with our first IVF cycle and we couldn’t be happier. Dr Gelman is very thorough and knowledgeable and would take time out to listen to any concern we had during the process which made us feel at ease.

Listen to him and trust that he knows what he is doing. He has been getting women pregnant for eats and has seen it all. He knows how to create the optimum environment for you to conceive so just relax and trust in the process.

The cost was what was expected with fertility care. Insurance covered most of my visits so I only had to pay copay. The clinic provided you with nanes of companies who offered fertility treatment bundles at cheaper rate as well as pharmacies that offered medications at lower prices.

He was very honest and sympathetic to my situation. He took his time to do an ultrasound for me after I got a missed diagnosis from the previous doctor because he wanted to verify what the doctor was saying was true and the other doctor was wrong. I always felt very comfortable with him and his ability to treat me and because of the vigilance that he provided I was able to conceive with the one IUI while the previous doctor I used caused me to have to failed IUIs.

Listen to what the doctor is telling you not how he's expressing it because he can be blunt in some ways but I feel like that's the best way that I can and other people can understand the situation.

From the first day of the consultation the doctor reviewed my test results I brought in and listen to my situation with my previous doctor and failed IUIs. He did an ultrasound during the consultation because he felt that the other doctor may have misdiagnosed me which was true. From that point on he required all the typical fertility and test done which I've had done previously so everything was similar to what I have gone through before. Then on the first IUI cycle, i came in with my period and they did blood work to check my hormone levels then I did my ultrasound and subsequent ultrasounds after that until they saw I was ovulating. Two days before the insemination they provided me the HCG injection and then after that they did the IUI two days later. When they did my last ultrasound they saw that my uterine lining was slightly thin so they put me on estrogen patches. 7 days after the IUI, i came in to do a follow-up blood work they picked up that my progesterone was low and followed up with providing me with progesterone suppositories. With my previous experience in infertility my other doctor did not do any of these tests aside from the ultrasounds and never recommended any supplements. Two weeks after the insemination I conceived which was a first for me and throughout the process of the nine weeks I was monitored with him. I had a slight scare at 5 to 6 weeks. The office did an ultrasound each time I was bleeding and eventually changed my medication because it might have been the reason I was bleeding. Since that time and up until the time I was discharged my pregnancy has been perfect. I honestly feel that without the additional blood works and test and monitoring I would have never conceived and so for this I am extremely grateful to the doctor and his staff for their dedication and compassion to their patients.

everything was itemized and charged per visit. It could get slightly confusing in what was actually needed compared to what was recommended. In my case I already knew what I had done and so would decline certain treatments or tests because I had already done it. Overall I wish they had more of a streamline cost for IUI that include everything necessary for that cycle and if you needed additional stuff they can explain that further.

Dr Gelman is very blunt and to the point, sometimes he’s a little dry. I know people that don’t like this, it never bothered me. I went into each appointment trying to be as educated as possible and for the most part he answered my questions before I had to ask them. However, there are some things that I was looking for guidance on and never really got a definitive answer.

Be educated. Be prepared to get straight to the point.

I’m very lucky and have reproductive insurance - the most expensive thing has been the medication with one of them costing about $700 out of pocket (again, with insurance)!

Per Dr Gelman, he does singles, multiple embryo depending on the patient but generally singles.

Dr. Gelman communicates very well. He went above and beyond my previous RE and found an abnormality which can explain why prior treatment was unsuccessful. This was treatable and he took the appropriate actions/ treatment. We are now 9 weeks pregnant! He definitely knows his patients history and treatment plan and makes you feel like you are his only patient.

Don’t hesitate! You have nothing to lose and everything to gain.

I had multiple miscarriages and failed IVF in the past. Dr. Gelman discovered an abnormal Natural Killer blood result which is treatable with Intralipid infusions. My former RE had not tested for that.

The total cost was around $30,000

He was always very clear on what we should expect and what the entire process would be like. He was very thorough with his explanations. I was given a hystersonogram to check to see if my tubes were blocked but we were never trying to get pregnant we were always going to use a gestational carrier. I thought that was unnecessary for us to have had since I was never going to be carrying the child or trying to get pregnant myself.

Dr. Gelman is always open and honest with any questions you bring to the table. When you go to see him bring every question you have and he will make sure that each question is answered.

We just did preliminary testing with Dr. G. I think we did get the price sheet and with PGS testing and 2 cycles of retrievals was going to be around $22k.

We were wanting 1 baby and we were going to do PGS testing since we were using a gestational carrier. Dr. G stated that he thought we should transfer 2 PGS tested embryos.

We loved talking to Dr. Gelman. His goals were our goals and he understood all of our concerns. The process was very thorough although it lacked any guarantee when we spoke with his colleagues. I do think he’s one of the better doctors at IVF.

Better doctor of the ones there but be prepared to spend money.

I remember having a HSG and a saline exam. Both were very painful. Husband was told to take vitamins.

HSG was $250 the Saline Exam $250 Genetic testing was about$1000+

One word that describes Dr.Gelman is CONFIDENT! He’s very skilled in his profession. He goal is pregnancy, i decided to see him after a few failed pregnancies due to (ectopic) he assured me I’ll be pregnant. I started Seeing him April 2018 started treatment in September 2018 and i became pregnant December 2018.

My Advice would be to trust him.

Testing for both my fiancé and i (bloodwork, semi analyses, semi cultural, SIS, HSG, etc) medication review, injection class, and from there the journey begins.

With Bloodwork and test between my fiancé and i we’re about $7500 in our IVF procedure alone was $3888.98 i have Insurance as well.

I highly recommend Dr.Gelman. I had a very difficult time getting pregnant and Dr. Gelman was extremely confident we would get our baby. He was determined to give us answers and willing to try anything for us to be successful.Dr. Gelman and staff never gave up hope and stayed positive the entire time until I had a successful pregnancy. We are finally due in March!

Trust him and feel confident you have an excellent doctor doing his best for you.

I remember for my successful round taking supplements to improve egg quality before egg retrieval which helped because I ended up getting more eggs. We also froze embryos to do pgs testing which was helpful because I ended up with 3 normal embryos. Also, we did era biopsy which was extremely useful because we found we weren’t transferring on the right day and once we changed that we were successful.

Gelman was open and honest and straight forward but also kind and compassionate understanding that these things are very difficult on women and families. He shared options and opinions and still supported my decisions no matter what.

Ask plenty of questions and don't google too much or compare yourself to others because every fertility issue and every woman's body is different

Dr. Gelmen and his nurse was well manner made sure I was taking care of when I need prescription that made sure it was in and I gotten them on time, that stay on top of me to make sure I was doing thing according. They made me feel very welcome and comfortable every dr. Visit. They all wore smiles on the face wishing me best of luck everytime before living my appt.

He’s a very good dr. He makes you comfortable and does everything possible to help you get a positive result after on going ivf.

Dr. Gelman is great and made our dream of pregnancy a reality. It was a journey a little over a year and well worth it since we are pregnant. I cannot thank Dr. Gelman enough for his calmness and expertise.

Dr. Gelman took us through the journey, making sure all checks were done so that we would have the best success chance from the beginning, he was always honest, upfront, compassionate, and I love he always sees the good on all things. My husband and I are that type of couple that asks and even question everything, and Dr Gelman was always patient and willing to explain. Our IVF journey threw us some curveballs, but Dr Gelman always found a way to move to the next step while allowing us to work as a team. I love that Dr Gelman never pushes you to do things and he will work out alternate plans with you if needed, it really is up to you and he is just there to guide and support you with his vast experience and magical hands.

Work with him as a team member, ask questions, create a good communication channel, and do the work so you don't rely on "hope".

We did a regular egg retrieval process with low-level medications, added Femara to avoid bringing my estrogen dominance up, then did laparoscopy to remove tubes and clean out endometriosis, then did an ERA test to make sure I did the transfer on the best day possible, and then did a natural transfer cycle to avoid heavy medicines like LUPRON.

This clinic in general only does single embryo transfers now to minimize any risks.
