Dr Hancock listened to all of my concerns and always had an answer to back up my questions, with scientific data to support it. Being diagnosed with unexplained infertility was difficult and caused me to constantly self-diagnose, but Dr. Hancock never made me feel crazy or invalidated...provided me with evidence-based explanations when needed. She was compassionate, but also to the point. She made it a point to always see me at every appointment.
RUN, don't walk to Spring Fertility and book an appointment with Dr. Hancock! She is the most down-to earth, compassionate doctor I have seen. She will truly care about you and your fertility goals, and she will do what needs to be done to get things done...Spring's clinic doesn't make you feel like you're about to embark on the most difficult journey, instead it makes you feel a sense of calm. It is clean, and inviting; the front desk staff are kind and welcoming. For how often you are at the clinic, the atmosphere becomes very important!
How was your experience with Kolbe Hancock at Spring Fertility New York?
Dr. Hancock is the best doctor I have ever had, hands down. Going through fertility treatments is a process, and it's so important you choose and stick with a doctor that you trust to have your best interests at hand. Dr. Hancock always reassured me when I was feeling negative, and always provided me with evidence-based explanations when needed. She was compassionate, but also to the point. She made it a point to always see me at every appointment. Even when I was told on the off chance she was in a procedure and I may have to see a different doctor, she came running to squeeze me in. I tell my husband all the time that I wish I could be best friends with her. I feel truly lucky to have had such an amazing doctor to go through one of the hardest things I have experienced in life thus far.

Describe the protocols Kolbe Hancock used in your cycles at Spring Fertility New York and their degree of success.
I did 4 IUIs, 1 egg retrieval, and 2 frozen embryo transfers with Dr. Hancock. All my testing came back normal, so I was diagnosed with unexplained infertility. Dr. Hancock explained my treatment options, and due to insurance, I needed to start with IUI before I could move on to IVF. I received my first positive pregnancy test after my first IUI, sadly that ended in a chemical. Dr. Hancock reassured me by saying that while upsetting, this is actually a good thing because it shows my body can get pregnant. I was very optimistic going into my second IUI, however, that one and the next 2 also failed. It was then time to move on to IVF. Going into IVF I was terrified, but what made me feel better was Dr. Hancock's demeanor. She sat down with us for over an hour via zoom, and answered any and all questions that my husband and I had. She was so knowledgeable about the whole process, and left us feeling ready for this next step, now knowing what to expect. My egg retrieval went amazing. We retrieved 21 eggs, 19 mature, 18 fertilized, and 13 made it to blastocysts. With PGTA testing we were left with 12 embryos and were beyond excited. Then came our first transfer, we used a modified natural protocol, one that Dr. Hancock strongly supports; and since my hormones are all normal and I ovulate normally, it was a good option for me. All went smoothly for the first transfer, however the embryo did not stick. Obviously devastated and confused, Dr. Hancock listened to my concerns (unexplained infertility). While ERA testing is not something they usually recommend after 1 failed transfer, she was willing to do it for me if I really wanted. After speaking with my husband, we decided to forgo it, and proceed with our second transfer instead, with the notion that we would do all the testing needed if this transfer failed. Luckily, we did not need to go there, as our second transfer was successful! We are still in the early stages of pregnancy, but we feel very hopeful and we couldn't have done it without Dr. Hancock.
Describe your experience with your nurse at Spring Fertility New York. (Assigned nurse: Kris)
I have nothing bad to say about nurse Kris, and the entire care team at Spring. Nurse Kris is the kindest person I have ever met. Her voice is soft, and she is very articulate. She explains all directions thoroughly, and is always available to answer questions. Insurance claims and getting medications approved by pharmacies were sometimes a urgent matter and Kris worked so incredibly hard to make sure I got everything I needed, when I needed it, so that nothing was delayed. She is the true superhero behind the scenes. BEST. NURSE. EVER.

Describe your experience with your monitoring appointments at Spring Fertility New York.
One of the best parts of Spring, was their convenient scheduling. I work in a school, therefore I have very limited flexibility when it comes to appointments. Spring ALWAYS made it work for my schedule, whether it was 7am appointments, or random appointment times during the day, I was never stressed when scheduling. In addition, I never waited more than 5 minutes for an appointment. This took me by surprise when I first started going to spring, as I am used to waiting 10-20 min at minimum at all Dr appointments- not Spring. There are always people in and out, but you will never see the waiting room completely full. This is such an important aspect when seeking out a fertility clinic.
Describe the costs associated with your care under Kolbe Hancock at Spring Fertility New York.
Spring fertility took my insurance. The only outside costs I paid were co-pays ($30), medication co-pays (varied between $2-$50), and ICSI (3K), embryo biopsy (3k), PGT testing ($300 per embryo). These were not covered by my insurance as we did not have male factor infertility or a history of miscarriages.
[Dr. Kolbe Hancock] is both pragmatic and compassionate...great at providing explanations that are digestible for her patients that do not have a medical background...were able to pivot protocol the next cycles with significant improvement...300 Gonal and 300 Menopur with Cetrotide at the end
Overall, Spring was great...clinic is calming and inviting...front desk staff knew me by name and were always friendly...rarely waited longer than 5 minutes for blood draws or monitoring appointments. Techs and Phlebotomists were kind and competent. Procedure Nurses/Anesthesia were wonderful and made me feel at ease
How was your experience with Kolbe Hancock at Spring Fertility New York?
I can't recommend Dr. Hancock highly enough. She is both pragmatic and compassionate. She is great at providing explanations that are digestible for her patients that do not have a medical background. I had lower levels for being under 30 and she always provided me reassurance. My first cycle didn't go as planned because my body did not respond to one of the triggers (due to other hormonal issues I have-no fault of the protocol) and I ended up having to do a 2nd trigger the next day. Dr. Hancock kept me at ease and we still managed to salvage some eggs, and we were able to pivot protocol the next cycles with significant improvement. I can't say enough good things about Dr. Hancock's kindness and skillset to handle extenuating circumstances.
During treatment, were you treated like a number or a human with Kolbe Hancock at Spring Fertility New York?
Dr. Hancock took the time to get to know me as a patient. Throughout my 3 cycles, I saw her every single monitoring appointment with the exception of weekends when she wasn't on call. Even when she wasn't in on the weekend, she took time to review and provide her direction going forward as I was close to retrieval.
Describe the protocols Kolbe Hancock used in your cycles at Spring Fertility New York and their degree of success.
For the vast majority of the days on each round I was on 300 Gonal and 300 Menopur with Cetrotide at the end.
Describe your experience with your nurse at Spring Fertility New York. (Assigned nurse: Hannah and Meghan)
I had a very positive experience with both Meghan (coordinator) and Hannah (nurse). Both were quick to communicate via the app which was quite easy and called when necessary. When I had my first round, Hannah took the time to go through the unboxing of all of my medication to make sure I felt comfortable.

Describe the specific things that went wrong at Spring Fertility New York.
While this is the only hiccup I had in 3 rounds, it does need to be mentioned. I was set to trigger the Saturday of Daylight Savings Time for a Monday retrieval. The on call nurse did not take that into account when giving me my trigger time and thus would have triggered 37 hours in advance instead of 36. I actually caught it and called to ask, which they then realized and had to adjust all other patient triggers that day. While I'm glad I caught it, that would have been a huge miss that resulted in suboptimal retrievals for several others.
Dr. Hancock is an extremely intelligent doctor and clearly knows her stuff, while also being extremely approachable and open. I never felt silly asking any questions or clarifying anything. I felt that she had my best interests in mind throughout the process...Trust that Dr. Hancock has been through fertility issues herself and therefore is understanding of the human side of the process...professional and kind while also being clearly knowledgeable
Dr. Hancock and her entire [Spring Fertility New York] team were professional and kind while also being clearly knowledgeable. I went to the office many times during my treatment, and I never once waited more than a couple of minutes to be seen. The communication through the portal and email was regular and helpful. The egg retrieval procedure itself went smoothly and I was super comfortable the entire time...The clinic is very professional and organized. The process went very smoothly and I felt that the communication was great. The only weakness I would say is that the medication administration process was a bit overwhelming to do at home alone.

Both my care coordinator (Natalie) and the nurse in charge of my medication protocol (Kristin) were extremely communicative. In most cases, they reached out to me first and gave me plenty of information, but when I did have questions they were quick and thorough to reply.

I was using Stork Club fertility benefits so I didn't have an out of pocket cost.
Dr. Hancock is kind, highly intelligent and an extremely hard worker...saw her during 99.9% of my appointments...s compassionate and was genuinely committed to helping me...was sympathetic, reassuring and performed my D&C in a caring and compassionate way...best results was human growth hormone and mid-luteal.
[Spring Fertility New York] a beautiful office and they are a well oiled machine. You never wait more than 5 minutes to see the doctor. You see the same doctor and nurses every time which I found nice...Kris and Natalie are amazing. The team is so good. I have no notes!
How was your experience with Kolbe Hancock at Spring Fertility New York?
Dr. Hancock comes with my highest possible recommendation. She is compassionate and was genuinely committed to helping me get pregnant. I also saw her through a hard time. I had gotten spontaneously pregnant between cycles and had an early miscarriage. Dr. Hancock was sympathetic, reassuring and performed my D&C in a caring and compassionate way.

Dr. Hancock is kind, highly intelligent and an extremely hard worker. She is the exact combination of what you would want in an RE.

It's a beautiful office and they are a well oiled machine. You never wait more than 5 minutes to see the doctor. You see the same doctor and nurses every time which I found nice, I was previously at another clinic where you saw someone new every time. You could go your entire cycle and not even see your doctor until the retrieval. The way spring does it is far superior.
Describe the costs associated with your care under Kolbe Hancock at Spring Fertility New York.
Insurance covered a lot but I believe in total for two rounds we paid $6,000.
Dr. Hancock is patient and thoughtful, compassionate, explains things very well and is clearly very smart and competent. I scheduled a consultation following two first trimester miscarriages. After a thorough discussion in her office, she performed an US and quickly identified a potential cause. She explained further imaging that would be needed, and what steps would be taken afterwards. She was positive and thoughtful, and took the time to explain to me everything she was seeing on the ultrasound. I fully trusted her and felt that if I did proceed with IVF, I would have been in excellent hands.
The [Spring Fertility] clinic itself is clean, comfortable and beautiful. It is a calm environment. Scheduling my appointment was easy and straightforward. I felt that things were efficient on the financial side of things as well - while I was out of network and paid out of pocket, all costs were explained to me beforehand...I have never had a better patient care experience than I had at Spring with Dr. Hancock. She is exactly the type of doctor you hope to see in any setting.

Ask questions!

All aspects of my care were very personalized. Dr. Hancock was familiar with my OB history and understood the purpose of my visit before I stepped into her office, which I appreciated. I can honestly say, I have never had a better patient care experience than I had at Spring with Dr. Hancock. She is exactly the type of doctor you hope to see in any setting.

Dr. Hancock really listened to me and understood that my previous clinic wasn’t meeting my expectations. She had an alternative plan which is something I didn’t even know was possible at the time. The care with her was like night and day. I felt like a number at my last clinic and I felt like a patient, a human, with Dr. Hancock...Dr. Hancock walked me through a new custom plan and also explained all of the ways they’d change things up for better results. Something else I REALLY appreciated is that Dr. Hancock suggested that during my egg retrieval she’d also do a biopsy...
I felt like this clinic [Spring Fertility] offered more individualized care and more importantly the ability to try more experimental approaches... Spring also treats you like a person. Dr. Hancock took the time to understand my situation and previous cycles...At these “big” clinics you’re really limited to plans that are one size fits all. How was your experience with Kolbe Hancock at Spring Fertility New York?
I had been attending a different clinic before seeing Dr. Hancock and I had a poor experience, three rounds of IVF, one round completely failed. I was treated like a number and when I asked my old clinic for a new plan they told me just to have faith. Dr. Hancock walked me through a new custom plan and also explained all of the ways they’d change things up for better results. Something else I REALLY appreciated is that Dr. Hancock suggested that during my egg retrieval she’d also do a biopsy (can’t remember if this was for endo or the test to see how long you should wait to transfer). Either way I was super nervous about it because typically they do not provide pain management for this procedure, so I was blown away when this plan was offered.
Dr. Hancock also regularly called me to check in and would ask if I had questions. I never felt rushed. At my last “big” clinic I never had that kind of care.

Describe your experience with Spring Fertility New York.
Spring is a great clinic. One of my top concerns going here was that I felt clinics like NYU (my previous clinic) or Cornell, were best of the best because they’re well established and have that brand name. However, that comes with lots of pros and cons. One huge con for me was being just a number. And you’ll get that anywhere you go, but less so at Spring.
I felt like this clinic offered more individualized care and more importantly the ability to try more experimental approaches. NYU wouldn’t even suggest I take COq10 because it wasn’t proven through their research to be effective but with Spring, you’re offered SO many different approaches and treatments. For example they’re able to try ways to increase fertilization odds in their labs. With a big clinic you’re really just going to get the standard protocol.
Spring also treats you like a person. Dr. Hancock took the time to understand my situation and previous cycles.
Overall, I wish I didn’t wait so long to switch clinics.
*I do want to note that I ended up having a spontaneous pregnancy right before my 4th round of IVF. Spring was so great in handling the transition. I will absolutely be back for my next pregnancy.
Dr. Hancock met with us EACH visit, answering a litany of questions...cycle became extended because not all of the eggs were maturing at the same time...had produced only one fertilized egg...she alleviated all of my concerns...suggested IVF, with us freezing our one surviving egg to do genetic testing. This was done because we are a little older.
Spring Fertility Clinic offered us much more warmth and positivity along our challenging journey...highly competent staff, including Nerissa and Kristen, was much more positive...had an attitude of hope while preparing us for the fact that we may have to repeat this process...surrounded by an atmosphere of positivity
How was your experience with Kolbe Hancock at Spring Fertility New York?
We wholeheartedly recommend Spring Fertility Clinic. My wife and I had an excellent experience from start to finish, in which we welcomed our healthy baby boy Liam to the world.
In comparison to the first fertility clinic we tried, Spring Fertility Clinic offered us much more warmth and positivity along our challenging journey.
The “other” fertility clinic: We met our doctor only once. While visiting the clinic during each cycle, the nurse would coldly discuss our next cycle, implying the current cycle would fail. We understand fertility clinics need to prepare patients for failed cycles, this is part of the process, but the tone was very negative. They ASSUMED a negative result rather than PREPARING us for a possible negative result. The staff was nice, but the overall experience felt like a factory, as we passed through a conveyor belt.
Spring Fertility Clinic: From the initial visit, the vibe with Spring Fertility was much different. Dr. Hancock met with us EACH visit, answering a litany of questions. Luckily for us, our one egg defied the odds and grew into our baby Liam.
We desperately wanted a sibling for our daughter Emilija, Spring Fertility made that happen. While everyone’s struggle with fertility and eventual results will be different, Spring Fertility offers the warmth patients need when struggling with fertility. Everyone struggling with fertility deserves to be surrounded by an atmosphere of positivity. If you are struggling with fertility, you should make an appointment with Spring Fertility and discuss your situation. Good luck everyone.

Dr. Hancock was awesome from beginning to end. She made sure I felt comfortable, helped me make my decisions along the way, and checked in on me multiple times after my egg retrieval. She was generally reassuring and encouraging, and as a result I was confident I was in good hands...Very warm in greetings, and very careful/slow/clear when doing ultrasound exams - she gave clear heads up when she was about to do anything and explained what she saw. She answered my questions with patience.
Very welcoming environment [at Spring Fertility], easy to work with, they looked out for me and made sure I was helped all along the way. They have a variety of resources from nurses to financial consultants that helped me take control of my logistics...My primary nurse was exceptional - we sat together to do my first shots, she demo'd how to use the tools when I was still learning, she called me every day to check on me, and she made my IV on the day of really easy and painless, which was especially big for me because I'm generally scared of needles :) I felt very cared for and a huge part of it was the nursing team.
