[Dr. Laura Detti] was a wonderful doctor. She was incredibly knowledgeable and took the time to explain things in a way that was easily understandable and always valued my opinion as a patient regarding my body. Never once was I treated as a number or any less of a person...She is very blunt and straight forward, but also has a wonderful bedside manner.
Currently, the clinic [UTCRM] no longer has a Reproductive Endocrinologist as Dr. Detti has transferred out of state. Therefore they are not doing treatments of any kind. I was led to believe (by a letter from the clinic) that Dr. Alvarez (who I love as well) would be continuing my treatments, but unfortunately that is not the case...Their office did their best to bill insurance for anything that they could, worked with the pharmacy on site to help provide cost-effective prescriptions, and for what wasn’t covered by insurance, they were very up front about the costs.

Dr. Detti is very knowledgeable and kind. However, I did not have any sort of patient-provider relationship with her as I did not get to see her except for the initial consul and one follow up. When I did see her, the appointments felt rushed...I didn’t really get to have a personal relationship with Dr. Detti. I mostly was seen by and communicated with the nurses and ultrasound techs. When I did see Dr. Detti, she was always kind.
The resources here at TCH are amazing. I trust them to be in the know about the most effective interventions and most recent research. However, they have a high volume patient body and the whole process ends up being impersonal...Communication was mostly through the online portal. Scheduling and expectations were clear. When speaking her Dr. Detti she was thorough and even called me after hours to update my plan. Once you begin treatment though you have very little communication with her and just speak with the nurses and your scans are reviewed by the doctor of the day...We did what was called "super ovulation". I have PCOS and would have 90 day cycles. We had no issues with sperm quality which is why we opted not to do IUI
Get an early morning appointment! [the Cleveland Clinic Fertility Center] are a busy clinic and try to be efficient but can get backed up in the late mornings. The phlebotomist is excellent. And the US techs were always very kind. Scheduling is very convenient and they always make time to get you in to be seen...I think we spent 7 grand
How was your experience with Laura Detti at Cleveland Clinic Fertility Center?
She has a wealth of knowledge and comes up with a very clear plan. My only complaint is that even if we cannot meet with her each month, after each cycle it would be nice to receive a phone call with her thoughts on that cycle and any updated plan.
What's one piece of advice would you give a prospective patient of Laura Detti at Cleveland Clinic Fertility Center?

We did what was called "super ovulation". I have PCOS and would have 90 day cycles. We had no issues with sperm quality which is why we opted not to do IUI. I did clomid, follisitim injections and then a trigger shot with timed intercourse, followed by progesterone suppositories during the TWW.

With me progesterone being less than 2 I feel like she [Dr. Detti] never should have transferred my embryos and I can never get results in a timely matter...It’s like a assembly line , she has a know it all attitude and you can’t question her , her favorite words are , I already told you , I wouldn’t recommend her to help not even a enemy , I have to find another doctor after I save again
Strength is they [Regional One] speak and remember your name ,weakness is they really don’t care , it’s just a assembly line... First round they didn’t prescribe the correct needles so we was using the wrong amount of progesterone and the cycle failed...They never call when they say they will , all I ever got was I am sorry... That experience [Monitoring Appts] was ok , it was always done by a nurse or assistant
