Dr Meyer took her time explaining the treatment plans and asking me how I felt about things moving forward. At times I felt she opted for the absolute most conservative approach, sometimes costing me months while waiting.... Antagonist protocol was used every time I cycled, with the best result the first time, average dose, yield 3 embryos. Turns out I am a poor responder (with diminished ovarian reserve). Dr opted to increase meds to max dose for 2 additional cycles with very poor results.
It felt at times like a processing plant with high volumes of women passing through the dated waiting room [at Greenwich Fertility]. I wish I had done more research before choosing the clinic I would end up spending years with. I went local as I didn’t anticipate I would need as much help as I did. At times I felt like I wasn’t being listened to as an informed client. And the fact only one type of protocol was used in my case leads me to believe I could have saved years of treatment and could have had success sooner with more a appropriate protocol somewhere else. I ultimately ended up going elsewhere and had success with the first cycle on a new protocol (micro-dose lupron).

What's one piece of advice would you give a prospective patient of Laura Meyer at Greenwich Fertility and IVF Center?
Be active in the direction of care you want to receive. Research your diagnoses and come to the table informed of ALL your options. Just because a clinic suggests one course of action doesn’t mean you need to accept it. At times I felt like I was being directed in a manner I wouldn’t have chosen had I been more informed. There are multiple protocols, make sure the dr is open minded to trying multiple till you find something that works for your body.
During treatment, were you treated like a number or a human with Laura Meyer at Greenwich Fertility and IVF Center?
The volume of patients makes it difficult to feel like your treatment is a priority. Bedside manner and time taken to address concerns made me feel more connected

Nurses were the best part of this clinics staff- they were kind and conscientious and seems to always have my best interests at heart.

Cattle call with a full waiting room. Gina, the receptionist was always pleasant.
Describe the costs associated with your care under Laura Meyer at Greenwich Fertility and IVF Center.
I used all my insurance with dr Meyer and had to pay out of pocket for genetic screening, some additional procedures. Copay added up over time and I think the all in cost I had in addition to my “life-time allowance” with insurance was about 10k
Describe Laura Meyer's approach to eSET (elective single embryo transfer) vs. multiple embryo transfer at Greenwich Fertility and IVF Center.
Dr would only do single transfer, regardless of my asking to transfer 2 embryos.
What specific things went wrong at Greenwich Fertility and IVF Center?
After my first failed attempt, Dr. Meyer suggested I try something different with my second frozen transfer, and had me try a natural cycle. She made this suggestion based on seeing success with similar patients. The natural cycle involved taking crione gel inserts 3 times daily, and 1 tablet of estrace. This attempt resulted in a positive pregnancy...was an incredibly patient and supportive doctor. I had apprehension moving forward with IVF after my 3 failed IUIs, but she never discouraged me from trying something new, and was open to trying other options I inquired about, prior to moving forward with IVF.
nurses at GF were very knowledgeable, helpful and supportive. The team is incredibly unique and unlike any doctor's office. They truly care for your well being, and the hope for a successful outcome...They all remembered my name and would ask how I was doing. Dana at the front desk was also amazing, and did an incredible job answering any questions I had whenever I called in or saw her...Nicole was another reason why I trusted Greenwich Fertility so much. She was an incredible support system, and was always there for me whenever I called for questions to set my mind at ease. She would check up on me regularly even when she wasn't calling to give test results, and made me feel like I was a priority. I was very lucky to have Dr. Meyer and Nicole throughout my fertility journey.

During the beginning stages of my IVF cycle, I went through a separate traumatic experience unrelated to my fertility. When Dr. Meyer found out from Dr.Brauer, she personally called me to ask how I was doing. I don't know any doctors that would take the time to reach out to their patients this way. I was really touched and am so appreciative for all her support.
What's one piece of advice would you give a prospective patient of Laura Meyer at Greenwich Fertility and IVF Center?
To know that you are in safe hands, and to trust Dr. Meyer's suggestions when opting to try something different.
As an example, when my first ivf transfer didn't work, Dr. Meyer suggested I try a natural cycle, based on seeing this work for patients in similar circumstances. I was nervous at first, but trusted her judgement and opted to try the crinone gel versus the progestrone shots. Now, here I am 14 weeks later in my second trimester! I'm so glad I trusted her to try something different.
During treatment, were you treated like a number or a human with Laura Meyer at Greenwich Fertility and IVF Center?
Dr.Meyer, Nicole and the rest of the nurses at GF were always so friendly whenever I came in for an appointment. They all remembered my name and would ask how I was doing. Dana at the front desk was also amazing, and did an incredible job answering any questions I had whenever I called in or saw her.
Describe the protocols Laura Meyer used in your cycles at Greenwich Fertility and IVF Center and their degree of success.
My treatment based on an unexplained infertility diagnosis, involved 3 IUIs with clomid. I then requested to try Letrozole with timed intercourse. I tried Letrozole for 3 months before moving forward with IVF.
For my retrieval Dr. Meyer had me take Gonal F and Menopur, which helped produce 18 eggs. 4 embryos made it to day 5 and 6, and 3 resulted in viable embryos after PGS testing.
For my first frozen transfer, I took the progestrone shots which resulted in a chemical miscarriage. Describe your experience with Greenwich Fertility and IVF Center.
The entire team at Greenwich Fertility was always so warm and supportive. Dana at the front desk was amazing. She was so helpful with all of my insurance frustrations, and would follow up regularly until any issues were resolved. She was also super supportive and a great voice to have at the end of the line whenever I would call in. I always preferred going to the Tuckahoe office because of Dana.
While at GF, I also saw Dr. Brauer. She like Dr. Meyer truly cares for her patients, and provided me with such reassurance and support throughout my journey.
All the other nurses at GF were very knowledgeable, helpful and supportive. The team is incredibly unique and unlike any doctor's office. They truly care for your well being, and the hope for a successful outcome.
at my previous doctor, he over stimulated me with the trigger shot and recovery was painful and long. Rather than do this again, she [Dr. Laura Meyer] used that information and have me trigger with a belly shot rather than HCG and my recovery was a piece of cake...She truly cares about her patients and take time out of her extremely busy day to answer any and all questions. She is approachable, kind, smart, responsible, careful, and so much more. We actually had very bad news happen at this doctor before getting our good news, but the way she handled it all was amazing; she allowed us to have the strength to go through with it all again.
Elisa [nurse at Greenwich Fertility] was absolutely amazing. She was so kind and approachable and anytime she had to call me with news - whether good or bad - she made the phone call bearable...billing department wasn't always the most pleasant. The money was worth it in the long wrong and the doctors/nurses were so great that they made it easy to temporarily forget about the money part of things!... When I had an appointment, I was in and out in less than 10 minutes. They opened early for this which was also a plus and they were very flexible with scheduling around my work calendar.

Dr. Meyer was our 'second opinion' doctor and with such a terrible experience at our first doctor, things could really only go up from there. ...don't hold anything back - ask all of your questions as silly as you may think they are. I remember feeling bad that I was taking up all of her time every visit, but you should never feel this way. Luckily, Dr. Meyer helped me realize this!

I have a tendency to ovulate early when on all of these injections so she had me monitored more often than normal when that time was close. Turns out I was right so she had me double my dosage of ganarelix. I was grateful she listened to me and was proactive. Also, at my previous doctor, he over stimulated me with the trigger shot and recovery was painful and long. Rather than do this again, she used that information and have me trigger with a belly shot rather than HCG and my recovery was a piece of cake.

Elisa was absolutely amazing. She was so kind and approachable and anytime she had to call me with news - whether good or bad - she made the phone call bearable. She was pregnant during my treatment and teared up talking to me about how she understood how hard things were for me and she was in my corner etc. After her babies were born and my baby was born, etc. we still emailed to keep in touch because a true relationship had been formed during treatment.
Describe your experience with Greenwich Fertility and IVF Center.
Great doctors and for the most part nurses (there was always one nurse I dreaded seeing. I felt like she never drew my blood correctly and she was socially awkward asking about things you should never ask fertility patients about). Most of the staff was also great (again with the exception of one lady in billing who had poor customer service and forgot that she was dealing with hormonal women who usually get bad news). I love how they have appointments for blood and ultra sound rather than do a first come first serve policy which is always a nightmare. When I had an appointment, I was in and out in less than 10 minutes. They opened early for this which was also a plus and they were very flexible with scheduling around my work calendar.
Describe the costs associated with your care under Laura Meyer at Greenwich Fertility and IVF Center.
Extremely expensive...we have great insurance and it covered a LOT, but we still managed to have bill after bill! Little things were not covered like thawing but in order to transfer a frozen embryo of course you had to thaw! Things like that kept popping up for us and as I mentioned in a previous window, billing department wasn't always the most pleasant. The money was worth it in the long wrong and the doctors/nurses were so great that they made it easy to temporarily forget about the money part of things!
Describe Laura Meyer's approach to eSET (elective single embryo transfer) vs. multiple embryo transfer at Greenwich Fertility and IVF Center.
Dr Meyer is really pleasant and makes you feel comfortable. That being said, she follows a strict protocol and wouldn't deviate from it. She really didn't take a step back and dig deeper into the problem with additional questions and diagnostic tests. Instead we just followed the protocol, which was unsuccessful. I found out with my 2nd RE that I had endometriosis after I had been a patient of hers for almost 2 years. It never even came up as a possibility with Dr Meyer and was never explored. It was disappointing.
They were all nice enough [at Greenwich Fertility and IVF Center] and the nurses who did the blood tests were very warm and friendly. It was fine at the time because I had nothing else to compare them too and generally most Doctor's offices don't offer a great experience. Given the high touch nature of fertility it feels like GF could do a bit more to make the experience more personal for patients...It felt odd asking them questions on my personal case as the nurses would vary and didn't know my case. When I would call with a question I would be told that they needed to consult with the Doctor. When I asked for extra time to ask my questions to the Doctor even just a quick phone call I was told I needed to pay for a consult.

What specific things went wrong at Greenwich Fertility and IVF Center?
We will PGT if we get to retrieval and only transfer 1. We do not want twins and are on the same page as [Dr. Laura Meyer]...She is kind, compassionate and also very scientifically based. She would always call me back when I had questions and gave me all the time I needed. Only drawback is that she is so well liked and the clinic is down a doctor now so her schedule is packed...2 cycles with estrogen priming, 150 Gonal , 300 Menopur and then Ganirelex...added clomid With cycle 2 Poor response to first cycle and ovulated through Ganirelex. Second cycle got a lead follicle of 18 mm by Day 4, so cancelled cycle. Starting third cycle of Lupron flare with bc priming in January
The front desk [at Greenwich Fertility and IVF Center] couldn’t be kinder or more compassionate. They always remember my name! If you have issues getting your insurance to pay for genetic screening, they are so helpful (the billing department) . I don’t love that I have to go to Tuckahoe rather than Greenwich or Stamford often so that’s the only drawback...Love the nurses who do the blood draw. It did not seem like Dr Meyer would have utilized anything other than a single embryo transfer based on my age and protocol...From the minute I met Dr. Meyer I felt like she was completely customizing my care and that me and the success of my journey were her primary priority. From our initial introduction call, she made me feel heard, seen, respected and honestly...LOVED!
Cathie [nurse at RMA of Connecticut] was like a second mom during the process, I felt comfortable and cared for with her from the minute our paths crossed...Roughly $10,000 for an IVF cycle plus PGS testing...Their strengths are how much they care, how professional they are, and the compassionate energy exuded about every member of their team. I can not think of any weakness about RMA, I would recommend them without hesitation to anyone/everyone I know!
How was your experience with Laura Meyer at Illume Fertility (formerly RMA of Connecticut)?
Dr. Meyer is warm, approachable, looks at everything from all angles and makes you feel like your health & happiness is always her top priority. She never makes you feel rushed, or judged or wants you to be in a situation where you don't feel her and the entire RMA team's support. She is hands-down the best medical professional I have had the privilege to lead my care in my 45 years.
What's one piece of advice would you give a prospective patient of Laura Meyer at Illume Fertility (formerly RMA of Connecticut)?
Do not be afraid to be direct with her, tell her what you REALLY want and need, she will absolutely listen to you and will not brush off your questions or diminish your concerns. Give it to her straight, and even if she comes back to you with low percentages, or predicts challenges in/for your journey, know that she will always do her best to help you overcome the odds + anything that might stand in your way to make sure you become, a mom/parent etc!

Overall a good doctor. Still definitely just starting out her practice and a bit cautious (very inclined to try less invasive procedures for longer than others)... Be clear about what you want to achieve and how aggressive you want to be with your treatment.
The nurses always called right before they closed for the day, so if they didn't call, I had to page a doctor for results, which is less than ideal. Also if I missed a call and the voicemail they left was unclear about anything, I again would have to page a doctor given how late in the day they would call.

She was very sympathetic to my issues. She was very gentle and really wasn’t aggressive. When I had an issue with a drug she called me right away and changed the drug and the new drug worked well for me. She was so intelligent and I really felt confident having her as my doctor...She was so thorough and really did every test. It was an amazing experience...She answered every question and she really cared.
I never waited for my appointment [at Illume Fertility - Harrison]. They were ALWAYS on time!! The office was always clean. They opened early so I was able to able to take my daughter to school after. They have no weakness! Parking is easy...[nurse] Kathryn. She answered every email in less than a hour. Showed me how to use the needle. Really held my hand...[Dr. Meyer] She answered every question and she really cared. You can tell when a doctor doesn’t care - she treated me like family

Describe Laura Meyer's approach to eSET (elective single embryo transfer) vs. multiple embryo transfer at Illume Fertility (formerly RMA of Connecticut).
Dr. Meyer was kind, trustworthy and patient with all of our questions. She never treated me like I was just a number. She actually seemed to care if we had a set back and she showed excitement when we became pregnant....has a strong recommendation to transfer only one embryo instead of multiple because of health risks for the multiples...She called me after I gave birth and asked that we bring our daughter to the office so she can meet her. If I had to go through fertility treatments all over again I would see Dr. Meyer without a doubt.
From the first day that my husband and I walked in the office [at Greenwich Fertility and IVF Center], the staff knew us by name. We didn’t feel like a number and felt like we were important to them. I can’t say a negative comment about the staff. They made a difficult situation bearable...Elissa [nurse] would call me to review our apt, review medications and ask if I had any questions. She actually gave me her personal cell phone number to call her while she was on vacation if I had any questions. She made a challenging experience special by being so thoughtful.

Dr. Meyer has a strong recommendation to transfer only one embryo instead of multiple because of health risks for the multiples.
I would highly recommend Dr. Meyer to family and or friends. She is a fabulous doctor who proceeds with respect for her patients and for the human body. I would without hesitation go back to her for future fertility treatments...I always felt that she worked within my level of comfort and preferences while guiding me to facilitate the best outcome...appropriately weighed risks and advised on SET...always took time to explain everything thoroughly and to answer any questions you had. Never felt rushed and always felt like she was most interested in ensuring you were comfortable and well informed.
[The nurses at Greenwich Fertility and IVF Center are] Very organized and detailed, compassionate and always followed up diligently...Strengths - staff and doctors are caring and wonderful people. You never feel like you are a number. Strengths - several locations, so you go where it is most convenient for you on the day. Early appointment times which was great, so you could minimize time lost from work. Weaknesses - none that I can think of beyond sometimes (not often) long wait times, but that seems common with medical practices in general.

I was diagnosed with unexplained infertility, so Dr. Meyer recommended a progressive approach. Tried IUI, was unsuccessful, then proceeded to IVF. Did two retrievals before transfer and I am currently carrying an active and healthy pregnancy. When I requested to proceed with the transfer without additional hormones, Dr. Meyer was respectful of that. I always felt that she worked within my level of comfort and preferences while guiding me to facilitate the best outcome.
