Dr. Weissman was always familiar with my history, reviewed results from each cycle to adjust for our next cycle, and seemed to truly care about being able to get us and keep us pregnant...Because we tested our embryos, we're only transferring 1 at a time...She took their [other doctors'] opinions in stride, explained why she may or may not have chosen that idea, and then ultimately left it up to us if we want to go that route
[our nurse] was always on top of her game, friendly, and happy to answer questions...SJFC is great at tailoring treatments to your specific situation. There is not a one size fits all approach. I wish they had an online portal where you review your medical results and billing. Please be aware you will rarely a nurse answer the phone when you call. Instead, you leave a message and they will return your call the same day as long as it was before 3pm
How was your experience with Lauren Weissmann at South Jersey Fertility Center?
I love Dr. Weissmann! This says a lot coming from someone who has had 3/3 miscarriages under their care. They did an excellent job managing my ER protocol to ensure the best results possible and reviewed each prior ER to adjust accordingly for optimal results. We, unfortunately, experience RPL and Dr. Weissmann has been great to consult with and review options. We even consulted at 2 other practices to cross our Ts and brought back information to her about those consults. She took their opinions in stride, explained why she may or may not have chosen that idea, and then ultimately left it up to us if we want to go that route. During infertility you're always told to advocate for yourselves. I feel like I've not needed to do that a lot at SJFC because they've taken such good care of me. But the times when I have questioned or brought up information from other doctors, Dr. Weissmann is always willing to discuss and does not get put off. I love her so much that if we ever are able to have a live birth and it's a girl, I plan to name the baby Lauren after her :)
What's one piece of advice would you give a prospective patient of Lauren Weissmann at South Jersey Fertility Center?
At first, Dr. Weissman can come off somewhat stoic (not terribly smiley). But once you crack her shell, you'll see she is actually personable and very down to earth. Fun Fact: Her entire family goes all out for Halloween dressing up as a theme :o)
During treatment, were you treated like a number or a human with Lauren Weissmann at South Jersey Fertility Center?
Despite being a somewhat large clinic, Dr. Weissman was always familiar with my history, reviewed results from each cycle to adjust for our next cycle, and seemed to truly care about being able to get us and keep us pregnant.
Describe the protocols Lauren Weissmann used in your cycles at South Jersey Fertility Center and their degree of success.
Gonal F - 450 to 600IU, Low Dose HCG - 10 to 20IU, Menopur - 1 to 3 vials, Omnitrope - 1/2 vial, Cetrotide - 1 prefilled vial. We added Omnitrope after they cited potential egg quality issues from our first ER. They also used PICSI (superior to ICSI) as we had MFI (morphology only).

Describe Lauren Weissmann's approach to eSET (elective single embryo transfer) vs. multiple embryo transfer at South Jersey Fertility Center.
Because we tested our embryos, we're only transferring 1 at a time. After 3 MC, they still have not suggested that we transfer more than 1 as we have gotten pregnant each time.

For my second ER, they decided to add Omnitrope to the protocol. They did not tell me about this until I called for CD1. They sent over the RX immediately so I was able to fill in time. However, I had to pay out of pocket for this medicine which cost us $1500...not the kind of last minute surprise you want.
Once we were ready to proceed, she [Dr. Weissmann] made sure she was available to see us for all our monitoring. She even rearranged her schedule to be there for my egg retrieval because she knew how anxious I was and how important it was to me that she be there...She suggested changes to our treatment plan this time (adding human growth hormone) which doubled the amount of eggs collected and resulted in 3 good quality embryos.
The only issue I ever had [with South Jersey Fertility Center] wasn't really an issue. On Saturday's only one office is open and it can get very busy with everybody going in to be monitored. I never waited more than 30 minutes on a Saturday though. It's important to add also that I did my egg retrieval in June 2020 and my transfer in September 2020 and the Covid pandemic was still going on. They adjusted to accommodate the necessary changes quickly.
How was your experience with Lauren Weissmann at South Jersey Fertility Center?
Dr. Weissmann truly care about her patients. Knowing about our loss, and how hard it was on us especially since she helped us conceive our daughter who died, she did everything she could to help us. Thankfully, we are pregnant again (11 weeks) with what appears to be a healthy baby. We know we wouldn't be here without her. She suggested changes to our treatment plan this time (adding human growth hormone) which doubled the amount of eggs collected and resulted in 3 good quality embryos. Our first and second cycle only resulted in one embryo each time. She respected our decision not to test our embryos and never pushed when we explained why we opted not to test. She gave us her recommendations but respected at the end of the day it was our decision. I can't ever explain how much we appreciate her compassion and caring. She is incredibly intelligent and she knows what she is doing, which made me feel confident in trusting her recommendations.
What's one piece of advice would you give a prospective patient of Lauren Weissmann at South Jersey Fertility Center?
Trust her. She knows what she is talking about and she wants what is best for you. Her goal is to help you have a baby, and she will do whatever she can to make that happen.
During treatment, were you treated like a number or a human with Lauren Weissmann at South Jersey Fertility Center?
Dr. Weissmann helped us conceive our second child in 2019. Devastatingly, our daughter died unexpectedly at just 4 days old. When Dr. Weissmann heard this, she reached out to us to say if we wanted to try again in the future, she was ready to help us and do everything humanly possible to help us have another child. That hope helped us keep going through the most devastating thing that ever happened to us. She truly cared about us and our daughter and she wanted to help us. Once we were ready to proceed, she made sure she was available to see us for all our monitoring. She even rearranged her schedule to be there for my egg retrieval because she knew how anxious I was and how important it was to me that she be there.
Describe the protocols Lauren Weissmann used in your cycles at South Jersey Fertility Center and their degree of success.
We used follistim, menopur, omnitrope and ganirelix. We added the omnitrope because while my first two cycles ended up with 12 and 10 eggs, we only got one good embryo from each cycle. With the added omnitrope, we got 23 eggs and 3 good quality embryos.

My cycles are covered by insurance. I did pay $500 to freeze my embryo's and $300 every 6 months for storage.
Describe Lauren Weissmann's approach to eSET (elective single embryo transfer) vs. multiple embryo transfer at South Jersey Fertility Center.
Dr. Weissmann recommended a single transfer because I had a difficult pregnancy with my child that passed away. I had gestational diabetes and a lot of swelling and she was concerned that having twins would be too much for my body. I was okay with just transferring one.
Dr. Weissmann was very kind and supportive during our consult. She took the time to review and understand our journey...During our consult, Dr. Weissmann reviewed her recommended options for fertility treatment: timed intercourse with me tracking my ovulation on my own or having the fertility track it. The other option was IVF...I would talk to different people each time and have to re-explain my history to them. It was frustrating and times I felt there was miscommunication.
I was never assigned a nurse during my time at South Jersey Fertility. I wish I was assigned a nurse or a main contact person. I would talk to different people each time and have to re-explain my history to them. It was frustrating and times I felt there was miscommunication... If you’re not doing IVF - you won’t be assigned a nurse. You’ll talk to a different person each time. They also don’t have a way for you to access your blood results or ultrasound images. You’ll have to jot down the results down on your own to refer back to

Describe the specific things that went wrong at South Jersey Fertility Center.
While I was getting tracked for my ovulation, a nurse asked if I was doing IUI because I would need to follow up with the billing department for insurance purposes. I explained that I didn’t know that was an option and when I inquired further about it - they later told me that it’s something the doctor has recommended. It was frustrating since I felt like the staff didn’t know my plan
Dr. Weismann was very kind, thorough, and patient. She answered all my numerous questions. I saw her in office for my initial ultrasound and my HSG test to check my Fallopian tubes. I would recommend her to other patients...My only complaint is that they close so early in the afternoons. It is difficult to get there in the morning with having to work and take time off.
