How was your experience with Lee Caperton at Caperton Fertility Institute?
Dr. Caperton has an excellent bedside manner. He takes the time to get to know his patients, provides all treatment options, chances of success and risks before you select the treatment option you want to proceed with. He lets you know everything he is thinking, even delivers tough information but in a compassionate way. He will ensure you are 100% comfortable before proceeding with treatment. Once you are in the treatment protocol he fully informs you of what to expect and ensures you are not stress about the process. He tells you up front that medications can be an issue so he let's you know ahead of time that they carry extra that you can barrow and replace once you've received your medications. I don't live in where his office is located so when it was time for egg retrival he was very flexible with scheduling us when we could arrive. He also provided and covered a one night stay at the local Marriot Hotel. All we had to worry about was showing up and our meals.
What's one piece of advice would you give a prospective patient of Lee Caperton at Caperton Fertility Institute?
Dr. Caperton is very knowledgeable in this field and is an open book. Feel free to ask him any questions. He doesn't mind patients seeking information and wanting to know specifics.
During treatment, were you treated like a number or a human with Lee Caperton at Caperton Fertility Institute?
During the initial consultation visit, Dr. Caperton reviewed my medical records, asked questions along the way and really took the time to understand my fertility and medical history. He was the first doctor I've seen that really engaged in a personal back and forth conversation. He included questions such as "What are your fertility goals" and "What options are you open to?". He then actually gave me answers I had been seeking for so many years as to why I've been having difficulty getting pregnant. He was open and honest about my chances given my history and age and made sure I fully understood other options available before we proceeded with IVF treatment.
Describe the protocols Lee Caperton used in your cycles at Caperton Fertility Institute and their degree of success.
Dr. Caperton used Lupron HGH cycle protocol. I took Aygestin 5mg by mouth for 14 days, Lupron 10units SQ x 17 days, Lupron 5units SQ x 11 days, Androgel patch x 4 days, Gonal-f 225 units SQ x 9 days, Menopur SQ x 9 days, Omnitrope 0.25ml SQ x 8 days, Aspirin by mouth throughout the cycle. The ultrasound leading up to a few days before egg retrevial showed that the follicle wasn't the right size so Dr. Caperton increased the dose of Gonal-F and Menopur and added 2 more days of these medications as well. This resulted in the follicle/egg getting to the right size for retrival and after taking Pregnyl IM the day before the egg retrival procedure, the procedure was successful. Unfortunately, because of my situation I only had one egg in one ovary so that was all that could be retrived. The next step was the insemination of the egg with my husband's sperm and waiting for an embryo to develope. Unforunately our egg stopped multiplying/mitosis at day 4 and didn't develope into a full embryo.
Describe your experience with your nurse at Caperton Fertility Institute. (Assigned nurse: Katie)
Katie was excellent, kind and patient. She fully explained every step of the process, gave me her clinic email and allowed me to contact her via clinic email or clinic telephone line. She was encouraging and also made me feel at ease with any procedures.
Describe your experience with Caperton Fertility Institute.
The clinic I mostly visited was in El Paso, Tx. It is small but very clean and comfortable. The staff are welcoming, friendly and very knowledgeable in this process. They are available to you and open to any questions you have. If they are unable to answer your questions, they will get a hold of Dr. Caperton and make sure your questions are answered.
Describe the costs associated with your care under Lee Caperton at Caperton Fertility Institute.
Medications around $2600 out of pocket as only the Aygestin pill was covered by insurance. Around $4000 for office visits, ultrasounds, bloodwork, egg retrieval procedure and anesthesiology on the day of the egg retrieval, and the monitoring of the fertilized egg in their lab. They quoted me a total of $17,900 for the entire process to include the freezing the embryo and transfer of the embryo.
Describe Lee Caperton's approach to eSET (elective single embryo transfer) vs. multiple embryo transfer at Caperton Fertility Institute.
I'm not sure of Dr. Caperton's approach to single vs multiple transfer as I never reached this stage.
Dr. Capteron prefers to transfer 1 embryo at a time. He did ask if we had another embryo if we would consider transferring 2 because of my severe endometriosis. I told him the thought of twins terrified me at this time and we could not financially afford another cycle right now, and he was very supportive of that and did not pressure us towards doing another cycle...Dr. Caperton spent over an hour with my husband and I during our initial consultation. His staff spent even more time going over everything with us. Our situation was somewhat urgent and he explained we needed to move quickly as I had just had surgery with my regular OBGYN about 6 weeks prior to remove a large endometrioma and clean out endometriosis. He worked with his staff to ensure that I could have all necessary diagnostic procedures done the next day so I didn't have to travel back to him which is a 3.5 hour drive for me.
Costs for one cycle of IVF without medications was $17,900 Cost of STIM medications were about $2,600 Waiting for transfer so not sure what cost of those medications will be just yet...Caperton Fertility overall is so easy to work with. Once I filled out the online intake form they contacted me within 24 hours to schedule the initial consultation and appointment. They also booked our hotel room for the night before our retrieval. Everything with them has run smoothly and customer service is their highest priority. We were deciding between Caperton Fertility and a clinic closer to home and chose Caperton not only because of Dr. Caperton but mainly because of his staff. We liked the other doctor just as much as Dr. Caperton but his staff really sold us on his clinic.
How was your experience with Lee Caperton at Caperton Fertility Institute?
Dr. Capteron is an amazing doctor who took time with my husband and I during our initial visit. His wife performed my egg retrieval and I wasn't aware this would happen until I was in the OR and he came in and said his wife would be performing the procedure. He made himself available after the egg retrieval to discuss next steps and find out what our future plans were.
What's one piece of advice would you give a prospective patient of Lee Caperton at Caperton Fertility Institute?
Be sure to ask a lot of questions. He will cover a lot and it can be overwhelming but he is always willing to answer questions.

Describe the protocols Lee Caperton used in your cycles at Caperton Fertility Institute and their degree of success.
I was immediately started on Aygestin birth control the day after my consultation. I was on that for about 1.5 months before starting Lupron Acetate. I did that for about 1.5-2 weeks prior to starting STIM medications. For STIMS I was on 150 units of Gonal-F and 75 units of Menopur and I triggered with 10,000 units of Pregnyl. I was also told to take a baby aspirin, pre-natal vitamins, CO-Q10. They were able to retrieve 13 eggs, 9 mature, all 9 had fragmentation by day 3 and were slow growers. They all survived to day 5 but still had severe fragmentation and were allowed to grow to day 6. On day 6 only one was considered viable and was biopsied and sent for genetic screening; it came back normal. We had a total of 3 survive to day 6 but the other 2 were not considered viable and the other 6 had arrested between days 5 and 6.

All staff at Dr. Caperton's office are amazing! They communicate effectively and in a timely manner. I always feel that I can email my nurse and she will get back to me the same day or the very next day if it is after hours. Everyone is so compassionate and kind and want the same things for you that you want.

I would just say to be patient and get to know your new patients to clearly understand their dreams and goals they are wanting to achieve. I would also recommend you be as thorough as possible so new patients understand the journey!
During treatment, were you treated like a number or a human with Lee Caperton at Caperton Fertility Institute?
My wife and I finally decided to go the IVF route after 3 failed IUI cycles. When we had our initial consultation with Dr. Lee, the information was given to us really quick with little to no detail. It’s as if we should have already know this information. We were both shocked and trying to process the information that was given to us! I understand that after a whole of doing this it becomes easier to just give the bare minimum, but new patients need all the details to feel some sort of assurance that we are in the right hands.

We are just starting our first IVF cycle and have been dealing with NP Miriam Fuentes, who has been a blessing! We just completed my Hysteroscopy and HSG exams, which diagnosed me with Endometriosis, adenomyosis, and Chronic Endometritus!

Miriam Fuentes, APN has been a blessing! She completed my Hysteroscopy and HSG exams recently and was very thorough, explaining the whole process and letting me know what she was going to be doing during the procedures. She took the time to learn our fertility attempts and our goals with IVF! She diagnosed me with Endometriosis, Adenomyosis, confirmed my PCOS, and Chronic Endometritus. She put me on a treatment to help with my Chronic Endometritus and reassured me our success rate was not hindered at all!

Approximately $30,000 including meds and embryo transfer
Describe Lee Caperton's approach to eSET (elective single embryo transfer) vs. multiple embryo transfer at Caperton Fertility Institute.
During our first appointment he[Dr. Lee Caperton] went over our medical records and history, and did testing that day. I was surprised but glad that he wanted to start early...He was not pushy with treatments and weighed his opinion with what we wanted to do treatment wise. We saw him every appointment and he talked to my husband and I during the entire appointment. Sometimes he can be very straight forward but he’s professional about it.
[Fertility Center of New Mexico] Strengths : VERY clean, good technology, it’s fairly easy to get an appointment but may be weeks away, the office is never crowded which I love. Weakness: Communication isn’t the best sometimes. Getting through the phone is easy but email, text is a little more difficult. A lot of times I call [and nurse] answers the phone and seems annoyed that I ask questions so I prefer email or text.
How was your experience with Lee Caperton at The Fertility Center of New Mexico?
We did all of our testing at the facility in El Paso. During our first appointment he went over our medical records and history, and did testing that day. I was surprised but glad that he wanted to start early. After so many years he sat down with us and told us our chances of conceiving without IVF is slim. We wanted to continue to do other treatments, and Caperton was okay with allowing that. He was not pushy with treatments and weighed his opinion with what we wanted to do treatment wise. We saw him every appointment and he talked to my husband and I during the entire appointment. Sometimes he can be very straight forward but he’s professional about it.
What's one piece of advice would you give a prospective patient of Lee Caperton at The Fertility Center of New Mexico?
If there’s something you want to try prior to IVF, tell him.
During treatment, were you treated like a number or a human with Lee Caperton at The Fertility Center of New Mexico?
During the beginning I wasn’t a fan of Capertons bedside manner. As we had more appointments scheduled he seemed to help a lot more and talk to me through some uncomfortable appointments which made me feel better. After such a long time we came back for care and he remembered my husband and I and reviewed our files prior to our appointments.
Describe the protocols Lee Caperton used in your cycles at The Fertility Center of New Mexico and their degree of success.
I haven’t done much treatments there other than medications. Currently been on Femera for 4 months with no results. Medicated IUI is next while we are saving for IVF.
Describe your experience with the nursing staff at The Fertility Center of New Mexico.
There is one other nursing staff in the building that I’ve seen and her name is Lisa. She always seems like she’s bothered by questions and in a rush. She’s probably my least favorite staff at the facility.

Our medications were covered under insurance for the most part. IUI is $750 not including extra medications or more ultrasounds if needed. IVF is around 20K.
Describe Lee Caperton's approach to eSET (elective single embryo transfer) vs. multiple embryo transfer at The Fertility Center of New Mexico.
We haven’t got to IVF yet but he does not like multiples and believes each should have a chance.
Dr. Caperton was very considerate of our feelings and how delicate of a process this was. We never felt neglected in any way...[he] preferred to do single embryos transfer...Although Caperton was doing his best to lower costs for his patients, I believe he was a little too cautious with fertility medications. By the second IVF I was hoping that my medications would be increased, but instead one more med for a 3 day course was added.

Dr. Caperton and his staff were always friendly and compassionate. I believe the skills and equipment that the Institute itself housed was impeccable and top of the line. Although Caperton was doing his best to lower costs for his patients, I believe he was a little too cautious with fertility medications. By the second IVF I was hoping that my medications would be increased, but instead one more med for a 3 day course was added. Unfortunately we never had embryos to transfer after 2 IVFs. I would still recommend Dr Caperton to friends and family because each person is different and some things are just out of your hands. By the end of our last and final IVF ( because we could barely even afford the 2nd) we were given the diagnosis of Unexplained Infertility.
What's one piece of advice would you give a prospective patient of Lee Caperton at Caperton Fertility Institute?
Don't be afraid to ask questions and request more information than they're giving. They're not hiding information, I believe they just simplify things so that the patients can understand. But my husband and I prefer all the details. Also, don't be afraid to speak up and cancel an egg retrieval if it doesn't feel like the right month. You are in control of your own body, don't let anyone make you feel like you don't have a choice. Because you do and they respect that.

Describe Lee Caperton's approach to eSET (elective single embryo transfer) vs. multiple embryo transfer at Caperton Fertility Institute.
Dr. Caperton preferred to do single embryos transfer. Unfortunately we never got that far in the process. Honestly, my husband and I just want children, it doesn't matter to us whether we have one embryo or multiple. We would be thankful for any miracle.
He [Dr. Caperton] strongly believes in single embryo transfers only. Website states every case is different but he strongly believes in that. Also requires every patient to have PGS testing. Includes it in a package and doesn’t allow the couple to choose whether or not they want to have this done. ... Be mindful he is very direct, blunt and sometimes comes off as arrogant. ...
I was very excited for my retrieval that unfortunately was unsuccessful [at The Fertility Center of New Mexico]. After that happened I was a little turned off from the clinic not because something they did during the retrieval but how it was communicated to move forward. I wasn’t told much other than it was probably a bad batch or we see this all the time in women who are 40 not 30. And it was just like well can you guys try again? Meanwhile he charges 17,900 for self pay patients. He’s extremely expensive.
How was your experience with Lee Caperton at The Fertility Center of New Mexico?
My overall experience as a patient was good. I felt the staff was very friendly and caring. I wasn’t too thrilled when during my IUIs an office staff member was doing them. I would have preferred Dr Caperton himself or the PA. I didn’t think that was right now looking back. I was very excited for my retrieval that unfortunately was unsuccessful. Meanwhile he charges 17,900 for self pay patients. He’s extremely expensive. Looking back also I feel that he required every patient to get PGS testing to almost control his stats in a way. No wonder he puts 80% success rates on the website.
What's one piece of advice would you give a prospective patient of Lee Caperton at The Fertility Center of New Mexico?
Be mindful he is very direct, blunt and sometimes comes off as arrogant. His clinic is also very expensive compared to some others in close states near NM. There is no military discount meanwhile a lot of his patients are military couples who he knows are self pay. Also during IUI you more than likely won’t have Dr. Caperton performing them.
During treatment, were you treated like a number or a human with Lee Caperton at The Fertility Center of New Mexico?
I feel like I was treated as a human in some areas. The staff was very friendly in both offices. My main one was El Paso, TX. They were friendly, kind and always talkative with us.
Describe the protocols Lee Caperton used in your cycles at The Fertility Center of New Mexico and their degree of success.
The strategy was just using Lupron, Menopur and Gonal F. Also taking baby aspirin. I suffered from every side effect with Lupron which wasn’t fun but I managed. There wasn’t much strategy other than taking the hormonal injections on certain days and then trigger shot and coming into the main office for retrieval. I had a calendar showing when to take which meds and what not. I think they need to have some more
Paperwork showing things we should and shouldn’t be doing. I learned that from seeing a friends package she was given from another clinic. Much more information and guidance.
Describe your experience with your nurse at The Fertility Center of New Mexico. (Assigned nurse: Lisa who was the PA )
The nursing staff was great even after the loss of my embryos. They called me and truly showed compassion during that time.
Describe your experience with The Fertility Center of New Mexico.
The clinic in El Paso is very small but convenient for those that live here so we don’t always have to go to the main office in New Mexico. Everyone is very friendly. The clinics were both clean, plenty of space to sit in the waiting rooms. The main office felt like a spa almost. It just reminded me of that setting. The main office is very nice. I think the only weakness would be some of the costs. It’s crazy to see some other clinics what they charge and what Caperton charges. I felt having it more expensive must mean it’s the best of the best and in reality sometimes that’s not the case. I do think it needs to also remember the population of patients he mainly sees.
Describe the costs associated with your care under Lee Caperton at The Fertility Center of New Mexico.
IUI was 750 per cycle (500 for procedure, 250 for ultrasound). My egg retrieval meds I paid 2,500. IVF cost was 17,900 per cycle. I came in an extra time for an ultrasound and was charged 250 to check on a follicle before IUI cycle.

I never doubted for a single second that Dr. C would get us to the finish line. It's possible he can come off a little arrogant. But then, he was there for almost every appointment -- even my monitoring appointments during my retrieval cycle. And for the really awful procedures (HSG, hysteroscopy, blood draws with my terrible rolling veins), his expertise and competence and gentleness and compassion were clear.
[Caperton Fertility Institute is] a small clinic with one doctor which I really liked. It was important to me that I knew my care team and felt seen and known and safe. I also liked that IVF is kind of one-size package. One price, embryos frozen and PGT tested, FET cycle. I'm glad I didn't have to agonize over whether to do add-ons..
How was your experience with Lee Caperton at Caperton Fertility Institute?
Dr. C is pretty blunt. After my first appointment when I was diagnosed and told IVF was really our best chance at having a baby, I was crushed. I had been nursing some fantasy hope that nothing was really wrong, and it's f*"&ing hard to hear the truth that you're infertile. So I felt a bit like it was his fault for telling me. But I also walked away from that appointment thinking, This doctor is going to help me have a baby. I never lost that confidence or trust -- if anything, it increased. He's the best doctor I've ever had hands down. We probably would've named our kid after him but my husband thought it was too weird 😂.
What's one piece of advice would you give a prospective patient of Lee Caperton at Caperton Fertility Institute?
Don't take the blunt honest as an indication that he doesn't care. He does care. He will sit and listen and talk you through every option and be there for every appointment if you want it. But he's also going to tell you the truth and his medical opinion even if it's not what you want to hear.
During treatment, were you treated like a number or a human with Lee Caperton at Caperton Fertility Institute?
By the time I graduated from CFI, I actually cried because I was leaving. I knew all of the nurses and my PA was like my big sister. The whole time I was undergoing treatment, I felt like I had this family of people who were routing for me. They were always available for my constant, insane questions at all hours of the night and day. I was given so much compassion and kindness every time I cried an ocean of tears or needed support moving forward. I'm honestly looking forward to going back and seeing everyone again when I'm ready for baby #2.
Describe your experience with the nursing staff at Caperton Fertility Institute.
Nothing but love for these women, especially the PA who treated me the most. Example: my veins roll. The nurses weren't great at getting my blood drawn. By not great, I mean none of them were ever able to get them. So every time I came in for a blood draw, the PA would drop whatever she was doing and come do the blood draw. She got my veins every time. I cried hysterically hugging her when I graduated. One of my greatest disappointments from COVID is that she's never been able to meet my son.

Describe Lee Caperton's approach to eSET (elective single embryo transfer) vs. multiple embryo transfer at Caperton Fertility Institute.
Strong preference for single embryo transfer which I really respect. Twin pregnancies are harder on the mother and riskier for both babies. Personally, I'm glad we took his advice and only transferred one.
Dr. Caperton is a perfectionist. He will tweak, adjust and individualize your protocol based on what he sees. He's not always great at explaining his "why" so you frequently have to pin him down and ask him to explain himself, but he will. He is very blunt about prognosis and plans, but he absolutely cares. He'll adjust your pillow during an ultrasound or come chat even when there's not a specific clinical concern...I was initially on lupron and birth control for suppression, he added poor responder meds to my stim cycle when my suppressed AFC was low (testosterone and HGH). He plans to suppress me between retrieval and transfer because I have endometriosis.
Ivf includes icsi and pgs and a cycle is about 18k [at Caperton Fertility Institute]. Anesthesia for egg retrieval is another 500 Carrier screening was 250 and we're still not sure if my insurance will cover that. Meds ran me about $4500 with extra lupron from the cancelled cycle and poor responder meds...I've had to ask a handful of times for clarification on plans but that's it...They also do ICSI and genetic screening for everybody, which is a controversial approach (but again, indicated for me), so be sure to do research and ask questions.

He'll adjust your pillow during an ultrasound or come chat even when there's not a specific clinical concern.
What's one piece of advice would you give a prospective patient of Lee Caperton at Caperton Fertility Institute?
Keep asking questions until you're satisfied with the answer and ready to move forward.
During treatment, were you treated like a number or a human with Lee Caperton at Caperton Fertility Institute?
His staff knows your name when you walk in the door. They ask how you're doing. They're compassionate and friendly.
Describe the protocols Lee Caperton used in your cycles at Caperton Fertility Institute and their degree of success.
I was initially on lupron and birth control for suppression, he added poor responder meds to my stim cycle when my suppressed AFC was low (testosterone and HGH). He plans to suppress me between retrieval and transfer because I have endometriosis.
Describe your experience with your nurse at Caperton Fertility Institute. (Assigned nurse: Ashley Vigil)
Ashley is so kind and helpful. I can email her anytime with questions and she gets back to me so quickly.
Describe your experience with Caperton Fertility Institute.
CFI is awesome. They've never been anything but efficient, kind and caring with us. I've had to ask a handful of times for clarification on plans but that's it. They do have a lower threshold for recommending IVF than the other clinic in the area but in my case is was my only option anyway as my tubes are blocked. They also do ICSI and genetic screening for everybody, which is a controversial approach (but again, indicated for me), so be sure to do research and ask questions.
Describe the costs associated with your care under Lee Caperton at Caperton Fertility Institute.
Ivf includes icsi and pgs and a cycle is about 18k. Anesthesia for egg retrieval is another 500
Carrier screening was 250 and we're still not sure if my insurance will cover that.
Meds ran me about $4500 with extra lupron from the cancelled cycle and poor responder meds.
Describe Lee Caperton's approach to eSET (elective single embryo transfer) vs. multiple embryo transfer at Caperton Fertility Institute.
Dr. Caperton feels very strongly about only transferring one genetically normal embryo and recommends PGS for this reason.
What specific things went wrong at Caperton Fertility Institute?

Describe the specific things that went wrong at Caperton Fertility Institute.
Once a pharmacy failed to receive a prescription via fax. I don't know who's the the issue was on. Once I called they faxed it immediately.
Dr. Caperton takes the time to explain the process. ... My husband and I always leave his office feeling prepared. ...I have endometriosis and he is a specialists in endo so he was able to help me understand my condition better. ...He talked us through everything. ... He only does single transfers unless the parents otherwise directs him. ... He also helps with keeping things light and fun. ...
One weakness I’ve noticed is that they [Caperton Fertility Inst] don’t keep great record of the deposit you pay. ... A strength that the clinic has is it’s waiting room. It may seem silly but they offer free water, coffee, tea or soda. It helped me feel more calm and relaxed ... The whole thing cost around $22,000. ... They try and make your experience there pleasant. The coordinator that I was assignmed to is amazing.
How was your experience with Lee Caperton at Caperton Fertility Institute?
Dr. Caperton has been through the ivf process with his wife. He knows the concerns and the stress. He talked us through everything. He is very personable and helpful. He also helps with keeping things light and fun. Yes, this can be a stressful time but while with him you don’t feel the stress. My husband and I always leave his office feeling prepared.
What's one piece of advice would you give a prospective patient of Lee Caperton at Caperton Fertility Institute?
Don’t be afraid to ask anything. He will always give you an honest answer.

Dr. Caperton takes the time to explain the process. He has seen it all so he is able to answer any question. I have endometriosis and he is a specialists in endo so he was able to help me understand my condition better. The staff is amazing at making you feel like this process isn’t crazy and hard.
Describe the protocols Lee Caperton used in your cycles at Caperton Fertility Institute and their degree of success.
One thing that I like that he does with protocol is preparing the uterus. I know not all fertility clinics do this. He spends a few months getting the uterus ready to carry a baby to term.
Describe your experience with your nurse at Caperton Fertility Institute. (Assigned nurse: Ashley )
The whole staff is amazing. They try and make your experience there pleasant. The coordinator that I was assignmed to is amazing. She took the time to go over everything with us. She gave us a calendar that explained when we will do the shots and medicine, when we go in for ultrasounds and when we will do the retrieval. She sent us home with a packet of info. She gave us her direct number and said to call if we have any questions. She is definitely there for us. Even though we aren’t the clinics only patients, they make us feel like we are with the time and care they show us.
Describe your experience with Caperton Fertility Institute.
A strength that the clinic has is it’s waiting room. It may seem silly but they offer free water, coffee, tea or soda. It helped me feel more calm and relaxed to have a waiting room like this. One weakness I’ve noticed is that they don’t keep great record of the deposit you pay. When making my first appointment I had to make a $50 deposit. If your copay was less then they would refund the money or keep it as a credit for the next visit. I had to tell them that I made that payment and had credit. Once I mentioned it hey found the info so it didn’t
Cause any problems.
Describe the costs associated with your care under Lee Caperton at Caperton Fertility Institute.
The whole thing cost around $22,000. There were three different payments. One to the clinic, one to the pharmacy for all the medication and one for anastegiologist. With the clinic it was about $17,900. That includes all the monitoring, retrieval of eggs, genetic testing, assisted hacking, transfer, 10 week monitor and more. The pharmacy was for all the medication that I have to inject. And the last is for the retrieval.
Describe Lee Caperton's approach to eSET (elective single embryo transfer) vs. multiple embryo transfer at Caperton Fertility Institute.
Dr. Caperton spent lots of money and time to research and figure out the safest way to do eset. He only does single transfers unless the parents otherwise directs him.
Dr. Caperton was always available to answer questions I had. He was receptive to concerns and was willing to explain why his plan was a better idea than yours if that was the case. He was still willing to go your way if that was a safe plan and your wish after hearing him out. He always took the time to make sure I was comfortable with the plan and procedure, without feeling like I was being rushed. While he has a good bedside manner and can treat you delicately if need be, I don’t feel like he ever sugarcoated things. He was honest about the potential for risks and the potential results. Personally, he is charming and funny which helps put you at ease.
The new Clinic [Caperton Fertility Institute] is state of the art. Lots of windows and light. The lobby and waiting area is designed to make you feel at home, which it definitely accomplishes. It alsmost has a spa-like feel instead of a medical clinic. Now I will tell you that at first these superficial things did not necessarily sway me, as I feel like the doctor and Staff are more important than the shiny Office. But I do think the new Office helps you relax a bit more and decreases some anxiety you may have. All of this to say, don’t let the fancy new Office be a turn off to you. The Clinic is big, but don’t let that scare you away thinking that the doctor won’t have time for you or won’t have time to answer questions. They take as much time as you need and always tell you there is no rush and are available for questions or concerns.

What's one piece of advice would you give a prospective patient of Lee Caperton at Caperton Fertility Institute?
Don’t judge a book by its cover—he is good-looking which for some people can be off-putting or make you think he is just a pretty face or arrogant. He is good at what he does and I felt comfortable working with him and have been a patient for 7 years now. If you have questions, don’t be afraid to ask them—even if you think they are silly or dumb questions. He will take the time needed.
During treatment, were you treated like a number or a human with Lee Caperton at Caperton Fertility Institute?
Dr. Caperton has a large Clinic but always remembered who I was and took the time to answer questions candidly. I never felt like he was too busy to answer my questions—no matter how small or silly the question seemed. His staff is the same way—very caring and helpful. They are very invested in helping you achieve your goals.
Describe the protocols Lee Caperton used in your cycles at Caperton Fertility Institute and their degree of success.
I first decided to start with trying IUI using donor sperm. Dr. Caperton suggested this approach as it was the least invasive and least expensive. These cycles involved using Clomid because I have PCOS. The first two cycles produced no pregnancies. The third cycle produced a pregnancy which I carried to full-term. He caught a thyroid problem very early on and remedied it which I was extremely grateful for. After that, I tried 7-8 more IUI cycles before deciding to switch to IVF. He was willing to let me continue with IUIs but I decided that if I was going to keep spending all that money, I might as well go the IVF route with hopefully better chances of success. I completed one IVF egg retrieval cycle which produced 20 eggs. 5 of those made it to the embryo stage and were genetically sound. The genetic testing done gave us information about the quality of the embryos but also the gender of each embryo. I completed one frozen transfer with one embryo which produced a negative pregnancy test. Next frozen embryo transfer cycle I chose to put 2 embryos in. Because of a uterine anomaly I have he was more
Inclined to take a conservative approach and only put one embryo in, but allowed me to put 2 embryos in explaining the risks. My pregnancy test came back positive this time. I started off with 2 embryos and 2 heartbeats. Around 11 weeks I lost one, but successfully carried the second to full term.
Describe your experience with your nurse at Caperton Fertility Institute.
The nursing staff is fantastic. They are friendly, approachable, caring, and knowledgeable. I felt like they became my cheerleaders and support system through this process. They answered any questions I had or were able to find the answers for me. They were always very supportive and positive—even when I sometimes was not optimistic. They were genuinely excited for my successes as if we were friends instead of in a professional relationship capacity.
Describe your experience with Caperton Fertility Institute.
I have followed Dr. Caperton from his clinic he shared with Dr. Thompson to the new practice, Caperton Fertility, so I can describe both clinics. At the previous Clinic, the location was in the basement of a hospital which was a bit odd. While it felt private it also felt very dark and like a cave, but that did not bother me too much. The new Clinic is state of the art. Describe the costs associated with your care under Lee Caperton at Caperton Fertility Institute.
My health insurance does not cover any infertility costs. This meant I was considered “self-pay” and because of that, the Clinic offers you a discount. My IUI cycles ranged from $600-1000 including the IUI transfer, and ultrasound(s)—some of those cycles warranted more than one ultrasound. My IVF retrieval including one transfer, genetic testing, and all required medications cost around $16-18K, with my insurance covering some of the medication cost, and applying for a discounted pharmacy to begin with.
Describe Lee Caperton's approach to eSET (elective single embryo transfer) vs. multiple embryo transfer at Caperton Fertility Institute.
Dr. Caperton takes a more conservative approach. He will likely not be willing to put an excessive amount of embryos in because as he told me they are more interested in success of healthy babies rather than quantity of babies. I appreciate this because in the end you want a healthy baby, not 3 babies who may have health issues, right? He is not closed to hearing your arguments about wanting to put more than one in, just don’t expect him to agree to putting in more than 2-3 depending on your medical situation. I was able to select which embryo(s) to put in. In other words, if you have both male and female embryos you can choose which to put in. This can be disconcerting for some, or exciting that they can predetermine which gender they put in.
Dr. Caperton is very knowledgeable, he is very upfront and does not sugar coat anything. He is not the dr that will tell you want to hear, he is very honest....He once called me on a family vacation to give test results.... We began withIUI’s with dr c, once the 4th one didn’t work we had the cold hard truth from him and on to IVF. we had MFI. So he double checked the sperm to ensure we would have enough for IVF. He started us on Lupron and birth control.
The clinic [Ctr for Repro Med of NM] is like a spa. It is beautiful and very friendly. When you walk in someone is always smiling greeting you! They have water, tea, coffee, snacks as you wait. You sometimes have to wait quite awhile as they are ALWAYS busy. But they always communicate with you as you wait. The nursing staff is AMAZING! They make you feel like family. Dr. C has a great sense of humor, and is very friendly. They are an amazing staff and ensure each of their patients are known and taken care of!

We began withIUI’s with dr c, once the 4th one didn’t work we had the cold hard truth from him and on to IVF. we had MFI. So he double checked the sperm to ensure we would have enough for IVF. He started us on Lupron and birth control. We had monitoring appointments and once my body was ready he started me on Follitism and Menopur and began monitoring my follicles. Once the follicles were ready we triggered and had egg retrieval 2 days later. Egg retrieval was quick (it felt like it anyway) everyone was very excited the moment I walked in. He came in after i woke up to give me the number of eggs, and sent me home. I got updates every other day. Once PGS results came in, he called personally while he was on vacation with his family( the results weren’t great). He wanted to personally let me know that only one out of 8 embryos came back normal. We met with him the week after to go over specifics. And set my transfer for November. I began birth control and Lupron. Then began patches a couple weeks before then PIO 5 days before. The nurse showed me exactly how to do each injection. Transfer day came, and again i walked in and everyone was very excited and friendly. The transfer was quick and Dr. C went over every step. Unfortunately the embryo did not take, I was heartbroken but the nurses were very comforting and let me know they were there if I needed anything. I will begin my 2nd IVF hopefully soon once we save money to try again.

Describe Lee Caperton's approach to eSET (elective single embryo transfer) vs. multiple embryo transfer at The Fertility Center of New Mexico.
Dr C is very adamant (depending on age and quality) of only transferring PGS tested embryos. He only likes to transfer 1 embryo per transfer. But will transfer more if the patient would like.

Describe the specific things that went wrong at The Fertility Center of New Mexico.
I had to have blood test completed. They forgot to send the labs to the clinic l, I went twice and neither time they were sent.
He [Dr. Caperton] has the same mission the patients do and will always be up front and honest with you...I started with Femara and moved on to injectibles with IUI. We had the donor discussion from the start due to my age, but we were not ready to go there. We moved on to IVF but never made it to retrieval due to poor response. I tried IVF with lupron, lupron flare and Estrogen priming. All resulted in one or two eggs. We did not proceed with retrieval due to the concerns of chromosomal abnormalities. After the third try that had same results we decided to really look into a donor and I was tired and just ready to give up.
I loved the staff [at Center for Reproductive Medicine of New Mexico]. I spent a lot of time there to say the least and they were always very welcoming. The office was beautiful and clean and I never had to wait long. They also provided early morning appointments which really helped our own hectic schedule...Rachel, Chrissy and Ashley [nurses] were wonderful and I was sad to say goodbye to them. They were simply incredible and I cherish each of them.
How was your experience with Lee Caperton at The Fertility Center of New Mexico?
Dr. Caperton was honest with my partner and I from the start about the challenges we faced because of my age. I was just about to turn 41 years old when I started treatment after having two back to back miscarriages. We started slowly with minimal treatment because that was my preference and then moved to IUI and finally IVF. After 3 failed IVF's that never made it to retrieval because of my poor ovarian reserve I somehow became pregnant at the age of 42. I am now in my second trimester with a healthy baby girl. My partner and I were grateful that when things did not work out in one cycle he always had a plan for the next. He was very honest with me about my situation, and at times I wish he was a little more optimistic and that I could actually get through without a donor. The very day we contacted a donor I was interested in was also the day I found out I was pregnant. By that time I had very little hope that I could ever conceive with my own eggs, but I did! I know I am an exception and a lot of women are not as lucky as we are. I appreciate all of the care I received from him and I am also an aunt to twin nieces that are from the help of Dr. Caperton. He is a great doctor and I knew I was always in the very best hands.

Dr. Caperton began or process with suggested IUI. After several failed attempts and one miscarriage, he consulted with us and advised us to consider IVF and genetic testing. We again consulted with Dr. Caperton and with his guidance decided to obtain a loan to begin the process of IVF. We are currently in the middle of this process. Describe Lee Caperton's approach to eSET (elective single embryo transfer) vs. multiple embryo transfer at Caperton Fertility Institute.
Dr. Caperton strongly recommends single egg retrieval as he believes that the risk of having multiples outweighs the gains of success. We agree with this as well.
What specific things went wrong at Caperton Fertility Institute?
Failed to call in prescriptions to pharmacy
Failed to convey critical information
Describe the specific things that went wrong at Caperton Fertility Institute.
A few times I have needed to call to have the clinic re-send a prescription. They have always apologized and explained that they send the Rx electronically and do it again right away.
As we moved from the IUI to IVF process, we were not given the standard IVF packet and paperwork. I honestly believe that this over-sight occurred because we were so familiar with the staff after so many IUI procedures. When it was discovered that we did not have this paperwork, the staff apologized and provided it right away.
What I appreciated most about Caperton was his commitment to making scientifically informed decisions. He seemed up to date on the research, and would often talk us through the pros and cons of things like endometrial scratching, and then make the case for why he thought it was the best course of action. He ultimately left these choices up to us, but wasn't shy about making a strong argument for what he felt was the scientifically backed choice. This made us feel both informed and empowered. Though the vast majority of my interactions with Caperton were overwhelmingly positive, I think he could improve in his ability to empathize with the emotional side of the infertility.
We'd have a conversation with the nurse [at Center for Reproductive Medicine of New Mexico], I'd take crumby stress-garbled notes, and then go home and second guess what I had to do. The nursing staff immediately noticed we needed a little extra handholding in this department, and took the time to give us a very detailed write up and calendar at all our subsequent visits. Ashley walked us through each step with the utmost patience and understanding.

On one occasion, I became tearful during an appointment and he made what I know was a well intentioned but poorly timed comment about their clinic providing mental health and counseling referrals. What I needed was a "there, there, it'll be okay," not a referral to a counselor, but I appreciate that he was willing to acknowledge my emotions and attempted to point me toward a resource that he thought could help.

Count on Caperton for research backed, thoughtfully applied procedures. Count on his amazing nursing team for moral support.
During treatment, were you treated like a number or a human with Lee Caperton at The Fertility Center of New Mexico?
I can't say enough good things about the nursing staff at Caperton's office. They always made us feel welcomed, heard, and understood. Though Caperton isn't a warm and fuzzy guy, I appreciated his matter-of-fact, let's-get-this-done, no-nonsense attitude. He has an almost laid back way of carrying himself that I actually found quite comforting; it sort of balanced all the anxiety I often had churning inside me.
Describe the protocols Lee Caperton used in your cycles at The Fertility Center of New Mexico and their degree of success.
We had a progressively more involved and more expensive experience, building from clomid alone to clomid plus IUI to clomid plus sperm washing plus IUI and eventually to IVF. At every step of the way Caperton was straight forward about the likely success rates of each procedure, and he never dawdled repeating failed procedures that he felt were unlikely to yield new results. This approach left us feeling like he respected our time, money, and the emotional energy we were putting into the whole endeavor. I never felt like he was winging it.

I absolutely loved working with the nursing staff at Caperton's office. Describe your experience with The Fertility Center of New Mexico.
The clinic is spacious and inviting, with lots of little spaces for private meetings outside of the exam rooms.
The waiting area is very comfortable and has a large TV. Do you like HGTV? I hope so, because you'll be watching a lot of it as you chub water to fill your bladder for that ultrasound.
Describe the costs associated with your care under Lee Caperton at The Fertility Center of New Mexico.
When it was all said and done, we spent around $30,000.
Describe Lee Caperton's approach to eSET (elective single embryo transfer) vs. multiple embryo transfer at The Fertility Center of New Mexico.
Caperton is a strong advocate for single embryo transfers (and his high success rates back this preference). We were on board with the single transfer, but if you strongly felt that you wanted to transfer more than one embryo, it might be a hard sell.
I did not have much interaction with him except for the introduction appointment. He seems to be very direct and straightforward. I have mostly worked with and been seen by the nurses and assistants and PA.... There has not been a specific strategy this far. I have mostly been in charge of my own treatment and scheduling.... I feel that IVF is encouraged more than other forms of fertility treatments, but they [Ctr for Repro Med of NM] are still very capable and willing to perform other treatments as requested or discussed.
The clinic [Ctr for Repro Med of NM] is clean and very esthetically pleasing. The staff is generally friendly on the phone and in person. The main critique is that it would be better if there were one coordinator or nurse assigned to each patient who is directly involved in the specific patient's treatment so that there is less confusion on treatment or next steps. Otherwise, they all work together well to get a patient in and treatment completed.

The staff is all very personable. I feel that IVF is encouraged more than other forms of fertility treatments, but they are still very capable and willing to perform other treatments as requested or discussed. Not much actual interaction with Lee Caperton since the first consultation visit, mainly nurses and assistants.
Describe the protocols Lee Caperton used in your cycles at The Fertility Center of New Mexico and their degree of success.
There has not been a specific strategy this far. I have mostly been in charge of my own treatment and scheduling.
Describe your experience with the nursing staff at The Fertility Center of New Mexico.
I have worked with the nursing staff the majority of the time. They have been helpful and compassionate. It would be more helpful if I were assigned to one go-to nurse, but it is usually whomever is available or working that day.
Describe your experience with The Fertility Center of New Mexico.
The clinic is clean and very esthetically pleasing.
Describe the costs associated with your care under Lee Caperton at The Fertility Center of New Mexico.
IUI is about $700 per treatment. IVF is about $20,000.
Describe Lee Caperton's approach to eSET (elective single embryo transfer) vs. multiple embryo transfer at The Fertility Center of New Mexico.
I do not have experience with embryo transfer, but according to Dr. Caperton, they only do single embryo transfers so as not to end up with multiples. I think this is a good approach.
He is very confident which put us at ease when it came to procedure time and what steps to move forward.... Diagnosed with PCOS and endo, along with ITP. Trying to conceive for 5 years and not a single positive. After lots of tests we jumped into ivf since it would be near impossible getting pregnant any other way.... Dr. Caperton only does frozen transfers of one embryo.... Dr. Caperton recommended a 3 month lupron depot treatment for my endometriosis so that’s what we did.
Caperton Fertility does an excellent job of making you feel welcome. It’s a very unnerving and emotional time but they make it easier. They are all so kind. One weakness I’ve noticed is communicating the financial side. A print out including what is due and what it all includes would be awesome. There have been a few times I received a bill that I was unaware of....Ashley is simply amazing. She is just so very kind and compassionate and makes me feel at complete ease.
How was your experience with Lee Caperton at The Fertility Center of New Mexico?
As soon as Dr. Caperton heard our story at the consultation, he dove right in and for the first time ever my husband and I felt taken care of. That someone actually cares and is going to help us get pregnant. He is very confident which put us at ease when it came to procedure time and what steps to move forward. He makes the money regardless if the treatments work or not, but you don’t feel that AT ALL. He makes it his personal mission to get you pregnant, and stay pregnant, and you can tell it’s upsetting to him if it doesn’t work. I fully trust him and his direction.
What's one piece of advice would you give a prospective patient of Lee Caperton at The Fertility Center of New Mexico?
Trust him. He isn’t going to sugar coat things and may be a little blunt, but he knows what he’s doing and he cares!
During treatment, were you treated like a number or a human with Lee Caperton at The Fertility Center of New Mexico?
Dr. Caperton has personally reached out to me, as well as than the nurses, with embryo updates and just checking in when times were tough. My husband and I can sense how much he cares every time we see him.

Diagnosed with PCOS and endo, along with ITP. Trying to conceive for 5 years and not a single positive. After lots of tests we jumped into ivf since it would be near impossible getting pregnant any other way.
I can’t recall exact medications and dosages, but I do know it took a few days longer than the planned egg retrieval date due to my PCOS. Lots of follicles just not very big. After the right about of meds they got to the right size! Dr. Caperton retrieved over 50 eggs. Of that amount 37 were mature. I think we chose 12 eggs to fertilize, and of the 12, 10 made it to day 5. After PGS testing 5 embryos came back viable.
Dr. Caperton only does frozen transfers of one embryo. First transfer took but I miscarried early on. Jumped into meds for second transfer. Got some positive blood draws for hcg but quickly went down, chemical pregnancy.
Dr. Caperton recommended a 3 month lupron depot treatment for my endometriosis so that’s what we did. Except it didn’t work. He actually found polyps in the uterus he needed to remove. But we are moving forward with our third transfer which is in 4 days. We are transferring two good quality embryos and hoping that this is our time!
Describe your experience with your nurse at The Fertility Center of New Mexico. (Assigned nurse: Ashley )
Ashley is simply amazing. She is just so very kind and compassionate and makes me feel at complete ease. I can’t imagine working with women who experience their highest highs and their lowest lows, but she handles it with such grace and she gives me so much hope. Love her!

I think for the initial ivf cycle which included egg retrieval and FET, it was around $14K, then PGS testing was about $3K. Meds were around $2K.
Describe Lee Caperton's approach to eSET (elective single embryo transfer) vs. multiple embryo transfer at The Fertility Center of New Mexico.
Dr. Caperton is very strict about only transferring one! And I agreed with him completely. He explained why and it made perfect sense.
After everything we went through he suggested transferring two for this transfer and we are doing it. Very grateful.. I feel there is a better chance of at least one implanting and sticking around!
I was on a lower dose of follistim (I think 150mg) than most because I had diminished ovarian reserve (low AMH), and he [Dr. Caperton] felt over-stimulating was bad for egg quality. I was also given an androgen gel for my arm early in the cycle...I only had one egg at the start, I wound up with six collected, four fertilized and made it to day 3, one made it to day 5, and PGS tested normal. The eggs were fertilized with ICSI. I had thyroid problems and uterine problems. I wound up on Lupron. I don't know if it helped or not. I wound up not completing a transfer at this clinic because I felt the doctor was overstretched.

How was your experience with Lee Caperton at Caperton Fertility Institute?
I was initially able to call and email Dr. Caperton. He got more busy as time went on, and then he was less communicative. He has a humorous manner which is sometimes relaxing and sometimes off-putting. He performed several surgeries on me. He seems to diagnoses septate uterus and adenomyosis more than other doctors.
What's one piece of advice would you give a prospective patient of Lee Caperton at Caperton Fertility Institute?

How was your experience with Lee Caperton at The Fertility Center of New Mexico?
We are an unusual case in that my husband had childhood cancer and Dr Caperton has worked with several other doctors and labs to help find the right process for us. He has recommended several things particularly in our case because of our situation. He has given our case the extra attention it has needed and shows interest in us and how our ivf has impacted our lives. He is smart, funny and an excellent physician. He is constantly reading and doing research in his field and adjusting treatment of his patients accordingly. He just built a state of art office and lab and recruited top talent for the new facility. He helped Pioneer the process of vitrification of embryos to improve success in storage, thawing and survival of stored embryos.
We live 6 hours away from the CFI so Dr Caperton constantly is making efforts to limit our need for unnecessary trips. We have spent many hours(many after business hours) on the phone to save us travel time. I have his cell phone number and he answers my calls and texts quickly and is kind and compassionate as well as effective and straightforward. He helped us find a fantastic place for dinner when we were staying in Albuquerque during an egg retrieval monitoring trip that included my husband's birthday. He's also given us a large discount as returning patients that have not been able to complete an embryo transfer yet. I got the stomach flu days after an egg retrieval and when we called him, at 9 at night, he gave my situation great attention and walked my husband through taking some of my vitals to assess my situation from 6 hours away. He told us what we needed to do, go get an IV for dehydration, how to communicate that to our local physicians.
What's one piece of advice would you give a prospective patient of Lee Caperton at The Fertility Center of New Mexico?
Don't be afraid to ask questions. He and his staff seem busy and are, but they always find time to answer your questions, often even after business hours

Describe the protocols Lee Caperton used in your cycles at The Fertility Center of New Mexico and their degree of success.
We started undergoing ivf from the start because the only way to get sperm from my husband is surgically due to his childhood cancer. Thus we started with sort of a clean slate. Our first ivf protocol was a typical lupron cycle with menopur and follistem. We retrieved 21 eggs but only 1 embryo survived to day 5 to be biopsied for pre-genetic screening. It was abnormal. After our unexpected poor results, he changed my meds to a ganarelix cycle with lower doses of menopur and follistem to achieve a slower growth rate in the eggs. We then got 18 eggs, a higher percentage was mature and 3 embryos made it to day 5/6 biopsy. One came back indeterminate and two were again abnormal. After several hours together on the phone and being cognizant of the emotional and stressful side effects I was experiencing, Dr Caperton suggested we wait to do another cycle until his new office and lab was ready and suggested I should restart taking a mild antidepressants. I was concerned with side-effects of the citalopram to an embro or fetus and he and I decided the stress was just as bad for our egg and embryo development. We are going to stop taking the antidepressant before our FET later this year. The new cycle we just completed two weeks ago included ganarelix, gonal F due to a supply issue with follistem, menopur and letrozole with a good prenatal and DHEA supplement (something he had been reading articles about). This was all in hopes of improving our egg quality as our sperm was already disadvantaged from being strategically retrieved and from a cancer survivor treated with chemo and radiation. We got 27 eggs, 22 were mature and 14 fertilized. 6 survived to be biopsied and vitrified in addition to a thaw and rebiopsy of the indeterminate one from last time. The embryologist called today and 3 were genetically normal! Getting scheduled for a transfer later this year.

Describe your experience with The Fertility Center of New Mexico.
The new facility and technology is fantastic. It is comfortable, clean, modern and easy to find. They are just getting going though, opened July 1st, so please be patient as they are getting all the office routines figured out. The lab has been tested and they did some runs with mouse embryos before using everything for the first time on human eggs, sperm and embryos. The medicine of the office is efficient and well run. We were much more pleased with the new office than the set up with the old one.

$14000ish global fee as needed patients , no insurance coverage, then $10,000 for existing patients
Caperton was clear and honest but kind and detailed. He spent time with us explaining the process without rushing on to the next patient. I felt heard and that we were in good hands with a doctor who would do what he could for us.... As this was our very first doctor, we did a number of tests before starting any treatments. He did them himself and explained the whole time what was going on and what it meant.
The clinic [RMFC] is clean, inviting, and comfortable. I was very nervous at first as I had to go alone to my first appointment but even the front staff made sure we were alright from the very beginning. I had to have a referral from my PCM as my husband was military and although it was confusing, the staff were awesome at helping me navigate with my insurance. When we got orders to Japan, his office wrote detailed records for me to take with me to my new doctor without a fuss.

[Dr. Lee Caperton] was always bill happy...even charges both partners for a quick conversations that all were present for...doesn't give all the possibilities or options, often we had to ask for something we read about and he would often say that it could help and we could try it if we wanted...you are a number and feel like an inconvenience.

Very knowledgeable but has a demenure that can appear cocky.... Often felt like there was not good explination or rushed visits without clear indication of next steps. A lot of visits told need to loose weight before treatment. Then would try weightloss and so much time passes he [Dr. Caperton] would want to start process all over again with preliminary testing... Clomid then suggested IVF. Negative results on clomid.
Did not feel like interactions were personable. And seemed like there is a lack of compassion....Weakness is making some patients not feel like there is compassion for their situation. He [Dr. Caperton] is very very thorough in his communication about the expectations, he is very clear about the process and what the future could hold, he's also very very available and replies to calls and emails almost instantly, literally within 5 minutes to an hour... We're going for as many eggs as possible so we have the largest pool of eggs from which to get normal embryos as possible. In my case, creating embryos was successful, above average successful, I stimulate very very well; even at 45 years old, I had 14 eggs retrieved. But we are looking for eggs that aren't too old to properly line up and are free of chromosomal abnormalities.
The first IVF cycle [at Center for Reproductive Medicine of New Mexico] cost $19,500 inclusive of all genetic testing...They are extremely well organized, super efficient and on time. They communicated very quickly, scheduled me, they are very personal, and easy to get ahold of. One of the best medical experiences I've ever had...Doctors attended to my every need, both the procedural needs, the treatment needs and questions as well as my physical comfort. When I felt uncomfortable, they went out of their way to schedule an office visit immediately and on a weekend.

Kind, personable. He [Dr. Caperton] puts you at ease by being silly and easy going. I wish he had more time after appointments to discuss results, next steps, etc. Its hard to ask questions/express concerns when you're half naked, laying on a table.... After diagnostics he prescribed 2.5mg letrozole for cycle days 5-9. I do not have any issues ovulating so no trigger shot was needed. The letrozole was just to help follicle production and to potentially shift ovulation towards the middle of the cycle instead of too late. We have male factor infertility so the iui was to help with that and my low cervical fluid.
Great location [Center for Reproductive Med of NM] and interior. Appears clean professional and welcoming. Great acess to bathrooms and waiting room is comfortable and welcoming. He [Dr. Caperton] is very good at creating an individualized plan and if something isn't working he is cautiously blunt and tells all the risks and what his expert opinion on next steps would be. I felt comfortable telling him what my main concerns were and he always addressed them in a timely manner.... He is a great doctor and typically communicates well... after two low quality retrievals we did a much more expensive hgh protocol which worked a lot better
It's [Center for Reproductive Medicine of New Mexico] very clean and homey.. very comfortable feeling Only downside is there is a kids area which after going through this struggle is sometimes hard to see children around, but also can be a promising sign.... All [nurses] very caring and compassionate. Very happy and upbeat...
