She was the most incredible person to be with throughout this journey. We are absolutely thrilled with the outcome of our second cycle—6 euploids! With a total of 8 euploids ready for eventual transfer, we are over the moon with excitement and hope for what lies ahead. This milestone wouldn’t have been possible without her unwavering guidance and support. Her perseverance, calm demeanor, determination, and heartfelt compassion have left an indelible mark on our lives. She turned what could have been a daunting process into one filled with confidence and reassurance. We feel so fortunate to have been in her care—it was one of the best decisions we’ve ever made. What's one piece of advice would you give a prospective patient of Lucky Sekhon at RMA of New York?

Listen to everything she says and be patient through this process! Also, be prepared to not meet with her as often or even have her do the egg retrieval procedure. It's OK! As long as she is the one reading your charts and planning the cycle for you, everyone else is qualified and skilled.

I felt listened to and respected throughout the process. There was always time made for me to meet with my doctor and air out any stresses, issues, or concerns I had. After my first retrieval, we weren't happy with the end result, and hence brought it up with our doctor. Dr. Lucky did not treat me like a statistic, but rather as an independent human and walked through all the reasons this could have been the case, and strategized a plan for the next cycle.

The nurses are highly communicative, available, and thorough. Anytime I would call the clinic and ask to speak with a nurse, they usually called me back within 3 hours.

Was hard to see the actual doctor we had for scans and ultrasounds. It was a quick experience, however, going in and out of the clinic for scans. What could have been better was the way test results for karyotype were communicated

Describe your experience with your monitoring appointments at RMA of New York.

I went at a time that was convenient for me. I usually had to wait for no more than 20 minutes from the time I arrived, except for one crazy busy day. I would go in and give blood and then be called in for a scan. The scan itself lasted around 5 minutes and was always performed by someone super kind and compassionate that showed me personalized care as per the doctor's instructions.

I found Dr. Sekhon to be an incredibly compassionate physician who was attentive to our feelings and the sensitivity of the fertility treatment process. One thing I would like to highlight is that since going off the birth control pill, I was not only struggling with infertility, but unexplained weight gain and hormonal acne that I had never experienced before. I was essentially dismissed by my OBGYN and GP however within 10 minutes of meeting with Dr. Sekhon at our consultation, she presented me with potential reasons as to why this was happening and brought me to an exam room for an ultrasound to confirm if her hunch was correct. It was the first time I had felt heard/seen in months and I am eternally grateful for that.

What's one piece of advice would you give a prospective patient of Lucky Sekhon at RMA of New York?

Ask your questions and voice your concerns. Nothing is too small and Dr. Sekhon is incredibly understanding, receptive, and open to walking you through the entire process in detail as long as you are communicative. Her nursing team is incredible but she will also answer your questions if you reach out directly to her.

During treatment, were you treated like a number or a human with Lucky Sekhon at RMA of New York?

Once we started the IVF process, I felt like Dr. Sekhon was incredibly involved and here to field my questions/concerns. Her nurses were always in contact with me and one nurse I developed a relationship with came to my retrieval to help calm my nerves. During the medicated cycles/IUI, I did feel a bit more like a number in the clinic as we were mostly communicating with the nursing team and would sometimes see other physicians due to scheduling.

Describe the protocols Lucky Sekhon used in your cycles at RMA of New York and their degree of success.

Prior to starting our treatment, I was sent for a HSG test to make sure there were not blockages Cycle 1: HCG trigger shot, scheduled intercourse Cycle 2: HCG trigger shot, scheduled intercourse Cycle 3: HCG trigger shot, scheduled intercourse Cycle 4: HCG trigger shot, IUI - moved to IUI after 3 failed cycles of scheduled intercourse to increase chances Cycle 5: IVF - after a few failed medicated cycles, we felt like we wanted to move to IVF to have more control over our treatment. - started with Gonal and then added in Menopur and Lupron. Triggered with HCG 36 hours before egg retrieval. - embryos were created and we were notified of how many embryos were created after 24 hours and then again after 5 days. Embryos were biopsied and frozen on day 5. Biopsies were sent for PGT. - started taking Estrace on day 2 of my next cycle even though PGT results were not back yet. 16 embryos were sent for PGT testing and Dr. Sekhon & team felt confident that we would have a healthy embryo for transfer - notified of PGT results after ~2 weeks - Estrogen levels were not where they needed to be to start cycle so we changed my dose and started progesterone injections the following week. - notified FET was successful 8 days post transfer - remained on progesterone and estrace for 6 weeks post FET and monitored weekly

Dr. Sekhon's nursing staff was amazing. Specifically, one nurse knew I was incredibly anxious for the egg retrieval procedure and came to my pre-op room to walk me through the process one more time and sit with me while I waited to go in. Over time, I developed relationships with the nursing team and I never felt rushed on my update calls with them, no matter how many questions I had. My one comment would be that there were times where I would call RMA with questions and a nurse not on Dr. Sekhon's team would call me back and my conversations with them felt a bit disorganized as they were not familiar with my case.

Describe your experience with RMA of New York.

The wait times at RMA can be very long for monitoring appointments, no matter appointment times. However, the clinic is very flexible and will change your appointment location or time to what is convenient to you. Additionally, if you need to get in contact with your team, it is best to get their direct contact information (phone/email) rather than call RMA directly. I do want to recognize the front desk staff and technicians at RMA Soho who were always friendly and made me feel welcome.

The wait times for monitoring appointments were long however the clinic is also very accommodating of changing your appointment time to better suit your schedule or seeing you at another location if that works better for you.

There were a few instances where I had a hard time getting in contact with the team regarding prescriptions being sent to the wrong pharmacy or not being called in. Both times I eventually did get my medication in time but it was very stressful. I also had an issue with not being called with sensitive results but receiving them via email. This was due to technical issues on their end but it was difficult as a patient.

She is very active on social media so I sent her an IG DM asking if she thought it would be too risky to wait until then since I have a looming 37th birthday in November - she responded so fast offering me a more immediate appt. since she had a cancelation from another patient who was already pregnant. Just another above and beyond action. She’s great!

Have not started anything yet but on track to proceed with IVF for embryo banking. We did bloodwork on the first visit and my husband will go back in a week or so for semen analysis.

Sad that insurance doesn’t see a need to cover cost if you are simply not ready. The $20k doesn’t include $4k frozen embryo transfer.

Dr. Sekhon gave a thorough overview of the egg freezing process, and made sure I knew how to reach her and her team with any follow up questions. She responded quickly to my questions, and her team was friendly and easy to reach, which helped make the process very smooth.

I had a very straightforward treatment plan for my egg retrieval - Gonal-F and Menopur for 8-9 days, followed by a trigger shot. Dr. Sekhon attenuated the medication after my monitoring appointments.

Several girlfriends had gone to Dr. Lucky and rated their experience 10/10 so I decided to make the journey to NY to work with her. It was absolutely worth it. She really listened to me and made me feel totally comfortable asking questions. I felt like a person vs. just another number. I appreciated how practical she is. I'm a worrier, but she put me at ease which is not an easy feat! No hesitation, she's the only fertility doctor I'd go to!

We like that Dr. Sekhon took the time to get to know us, our goals, problems, frustrations, etc. She took the time to explain everything to us and made sure we were comfortable every step of the process. I think she genuinely cares about her patients. She took the time to speak with us on multiple occasions during off hours...We also appreciated how honest she was. She was always very quick to respond with any questions we had. We spoke and emailed with her after hours and on weekends. She quickly determined that the first method of treatment was not going to work for us and recommended IVF. Obviously this was a big decision but she made us feel very confident that this was the right decision and it worked out perfectly. She was consistently in touch with us, performed the egg retrieval and implanted the embryo. Overall, she was the perfect doctor for us on our journey towards having a healthy baby.

Our primary nurse [at RMA of New York] was Connie. She was excellent and also very responsive. She even came to our apartment to administer an injection because my husband was out of town. All the other nurses we dealt with were also great...Monitoring hours was our least favorite part of the experience with RMA. You could end up waiting up to 30 minutes and you are not sure what doctor you are going to see. They have so many patients that sometimes you feel like the doctor is a bit rushed. They also only have so much time to review your chart prior to coming into the room. The nursing staff and team that drew blood were incredible. Dr. Sekhon always let us know when she was going to be available for monitoring hours so we could see her. We always preferred that.

I would advise not to hold back any questions you have. Even if you think its a silly or unnecessary question, you should still ask. Dr. Sekhon is happy to take the time to make sure you understand everything and are comfortable.

I was diagnosed with PCOS. We did 2 cycles of timed intercourse. Dr. Sekhon quickly determined that I had a hormone and that timed intercourse / IUI would not work. She recommended IVF. We did 9 days of hormone injections prior to the egg retrieval which resulted in 39 eggs. We ultimately got 15 healthy and genetically tested embryos. We successfully got pregnant on the 1st embryo transfer.

Our primary nurse was Connie. She was excellent and also very responsive. She even came to our apartment to administer an injection because my husband was out of town. All the other nurses we dealt with were also great.

Describe your experience with RMA of New York.

The thing that stood out to us is how large of a clinic this was. The positive part about this is that they obviously have great experience. Dr. Sekhon mentioned to us that whenever they are reviewing test results, discussing medication plans, etc. - multiple doctors are looking at it and coming to a decision as a team. The negative part about the size of the clinic is something you feel like the specifics of your fertility issue might get a little lost in the shuffle. For example, we had certain coordinators or nurses call us that didn't really know much about our situation, which could be frustrating at times. We'd just recommend that any new patient be an advocate for themselves. If you don't feel comfortable any point just get in touch with your specific doctor or nurse as needed.

Monitoring hours was our least favorite part of the experience with RMA. You could end up waiting up to 30 minutes and you are not sure what doctor you are going to see. They have so many patients that sometimes you feel like the doctor is a bit rushed. They also only have so much time to review your chart prior to coming into the room. The nursing staff and team that drew blood were incredible. Dr. Sekhon always let us know when she was going to be available for monitoring hours so we could see her. We always preferred that.

Speaking of just Dr. Sekhon and not RMA, I couldn't be happier with the care she provided, specifically during the IVF process. From even before starting IVF, she demystified the process for me and shared many stories that made me feel more comfortable with the process. She was patient with me, going through the timeline of events and what to expect in detail along the way.

I loved my doctor but RMA at times did feel like a factory and like I was a number. Some of the doctors were better than others. I wish I had been able to only see Dr. Sekhon but downtown office was not as convenient for me so I usually saw a different MD each visit at Eastside which made it feel less personal. Very clean during COVID and good screening process.

Speaking of just Dr. Sekhon and not RMA, I couldn't be happier with the care she provided, specifically during the IVF process. From even before starting IVF, she demystified the process for me and shared many stories that made me feel more comfortable with the process. She was patient with me, going through the timeline of events and what to expect in detail along the way. Every time we spoke she eased my anxiety. I did not see her every visit but I would travel further from UES to downtown often because I always felt better seeing her than other providers. She was warm, yet straight to the point. Great bedside manner. I trusted the care she was giving me. I also appreciate how available she was over email when I had burning questions that I didn't want to wait until the next appointment- this is huge when going through something so emotional/time consuming. Dr. Sekhon was kind, empathetic and very personal. She NEVER made me feel stupid for asking questions and always took time to explain the process in ways that made me and my husband understand. She was always available over email, including weekends and time off. We had shared decision making and made me feel very comfortable and supported. I trusted what she said because she never steered me wrong. I appreciated her candid but warm nature and her confidence provided me with comfort during this process. She also always asked me how work was and how my family was doing.

Connie the nurse was very helpful and knew my info well, but I did not always talk to her. The other nurses did not know my course as well and sometimes gave me misinformation.

I wish I had been able to only see Dr. Sekhon but downtown office was not as convenient for me so I usually saw a different MD each visit at Eastside which made it feel less personal. Originally diagnosed with unexplained infertility with healthy AMH so we started with IUIs as a less invasive treatment. When we moved on to IVF, we started on low doses because we had responded well to Clomid. However, as it became obvious that I was a poor responder we adjusted medications each cycle (micro dose lupron, estrogen priming, lupron long cycle/fresh transfer) to maximize success.

Be completely open and honest with her. Tell her all the supplements you are taking, she will tell you which ones you actually need, unlike many who say you don't need to take anything. Ask her lots of questions in general. She will answer them all even if they seem ridiculous.

Dr Sekhon really takes the time to talk to you and work with you on your treatments. She always responds to emails or calls in a super timely manner. She never makes you feel silly for asking questions and always respects when you advocate for yourself. She just really gets it and understands its not just the infertility that needs to be treated, its also the anxiety that goes along with it. She works really hard to set your mind at ease. She doesn't sugarcoat, but she is also not cold and matter of fact like many RE's are.

Describe the protocols Lucky Sekhon used in your cycles at RMA of New York and their degree of success.

We did 3 clomid and one gonal-f, then one clomid & gonal-f iui cycles with her that were all unsuccessful. We decided to go back to TI, while waiting to begin a very tailored IVF protocol. Dr Sekhon decided we would incorporate clomid into my protocol with injectables since I have an excellent response with that. I had 5 follicles with just gonal-f and clomid. We did a closely monitored TI with a trigger shot and I fell pregnant March 2020. My baby is due in November 2020. Thankfully this all happened since Covid would have absolutely set us back. Even though this pregnancy did happen "naturally", I do not think it would've happened without her guidance, reassurance and just generally easing my anxiety. Infertility takes away so much more than just your ability to have a baby. There needs to be more RE's like Dr Sekhon out there. She is your biggest advocate, and at the end of the day, that is what you need most on this journey. Not someone trying to hit numbers, but someone who really truly wants you to get pregnant no matter what.

At the end of the day, my IVF procedure worked and I am pregnant. I transitioned to Dr. Sekhon from a doctor who left the clinic and the transition was messy and often fraught with bad communication and lack of compassion...she’s not going to offer up the info if you don’t. Push back if something doesn’t feel right or clear to you. She is better over the phone than via email... treated me on a very ‘need to know’ basis. I felt often I didn’t have all the information and that she didn’t take into account the emotional toll of fertility treatments and the overwhelming waterfall of decision making that comes with if.

RMA doesn’t really allow the conversation of having more than one egg transferred OR discounting subsequent transfer cycles for patients under 35...At times in the process you can definitely feel that RMA is more concerned with their own stats than your individual patient case. They are rigid in their standards (which are top notch) but sometimes to a fault..The phlebotomist is really great at RMA! Also shoutout to Nurse Melissa who is lovely and often went above and beyond. I felt she explained things to me in a way doctor Sekhon was not capable of and always showed compassion. The coordinator, Jennifer, is sweet and was helpful but definitely inexperienced.

Dr. Sekhon is extremely personable, and really takes the time to get to know each of her patients. She was extremely encouraging throughout the process, and she was deeply invested in both my experience during the process as well as my results.

Describe the protocols Lucky Sekhon used in your cycles at RMA of New York and their degree of success.

We began with Menopur and Follistim injections, and then added in Ganirelix. My trigger shot was a mix of hCG and Lupron.

At one point, I had an issue where I ran out of doses of ganirelix and didn't realize it until the evening. The nurses (and after hours doctor) were very helpful in keeping me calm and instructing me on best ways to course correct.

RMA is the single most efficient doctors office experience I've ever had. They also have a large team, all of whom were incredibly knowledgable. For my last transfer which resulted in a successful pregnancy, Dr. Sekhon suggested we use a more toned down/natural protocol with less medication as it wasn't something we tried before. It ended up working for me...[she] is compassionate and has great bedside banners. I can tell that she truly cares about her patients. She is very evidence based and makes sure she listens to your concerns before prescribing a certain protocol.

In my case, RMA did not allow multiple embryo transfers...The downtown location is smaller than the one in midtown which I liked. I didn't have to wait too long for my appointments as it wasn't too crowded. It seems to be very well run. My only suggestion is to have the reception area a little more private so anything that is discussed with a patient remains a little more private and not easily overheard by those waiting in the waiting area.

She diagnosed me with PCOS, started me on metformin and noticed my thyroid levels were slightly elevated. She adjusted medications during my cycle according to my labs and always communicated rationale.

We saw Dr. Sekhon after 8 months of trying after a miscarriage. We tried one IUI (after doing two rounds with another clinic) and then went to IVF. Our retrieval resulted in 18 eggs with 4 genetically normal embryos. Our first transfer was successful and I am currently pregnant. Not only did Dr. Sekhon make us successful, she was caring and compassionate throughout the way. She also answered my emails when needed which put us at ease. Would recommend her to anyone looking for treatment!

Dr Sekhon was consistently helpful about explaining my treatment options and status, and even made me aware of some that I didn’t know were available and saved us months of precious time. She was always informative of options, pros and cons, and unknowns, sharing all the latest statistics but noting as appropriate how I was individually likely to be similar or different than the averages.

I generally found RMA both downtown and eastside very prompt for appointment times. Eastside is much bigger than downtown, so it does feel like a bit of a fertility factory as a result if no impact on the service level and in general probably helped lead to the efficiency...I loved all the nurses I worked with. They were consistently responsive, thorough, and supportive. Available via phone or email which was nice.

Dr Sekhon is incredibly warm and personable. She would always reference my partner by her name and remember other details about me.

I loved all the nurses I worked with. They were consistently responsive, thorough, and supportive. Available via phone or email which was nice.

She [Dr. Sekhon] always greeted my partner and I, asked us how we were, made a point to say she was happy to see us. I felt like she was rooting for us. ... The treatment was not successful but I do feel like she gave me all the facts. She’s a realist, never emotional. I felt I could trust her and will be continuing on the next phase of my treatment with her.

Clinic [RMA of New York] was fine. The way they handle billing was slightly pushy. Generally good customer service. some of the staff who take blood are amateurs and every time I’d leave with bruises all over my arm. ... I had to call and tell them to send my prescription to the pharmacy. ... By my 3rd iui I felt the team was disorganized. I had to remind them once to put in my prescription. No sensitivity on the phone.

3 iui were not successful. We did 100 mg of clomid for all 3. My 3rd cycle I am not even sure it was working. First cycle I responded well, got pregnant, but miscarried.

By my 3rd iui I felt the team was disorganized. I had to remind them once to put in my prescription. No sensitivity on the phone.
